Joan Rivers Says Jennifer Lawrence Should 'Grow Up'

Jennifer Lawrence is almost universally beloved, but she managed to make at least one enemy this past year.

It seems that "Fashion Police" co-host Joan Rivers is still holding a grudge against the Oscar-winning actress, telling the New York Post, "My New Year’s resolution is [ensuring] Jennifer Lawrence grows up and realizes how lucky she is and calms down.”

Clearly Rivers is still touchy over Lawrence's comments back in November that shows like "Fashion Police" tell young people to judge others based on "all the wrong values and that it's OK to point at people and call them ugly or fat."

Rivers, 80, initially responded to the 23-year-old's comments via Twitter, writing that the actress was "arrogant and a hypocrite -- apparently Lawrence loved Rivers' show when they were complimenting her during award season but began railing against it when she had a movie to promote.

Lawrence didn't respond to Rivers' tweets directly, but she did go on to tell Barbara Walter that she believes it should be "illegal to call somebody fat on TV."

The "American Hustle" star has been candid about her refusal to lose weight for roles, her distaste for dieting, and willingness to admit when she's been photoshopped -- yet Rivers seems to think her campaign is nothing but an act.

“I love that she’s telling everyone how wrong it is to worry about retouching and body image, and meanwhile, she has been touched up more than a choir boy at the Vatican," Rivers told the Post. "Look at her posters. She doesn’t have a nose, she has two holes. She just has to learn, don’t talk if you’re doing it.”

Bieber's Best (Read: Worst) Moments of 2013

This year, Justin Bieber somehow became the guy from high school who gets drunk in the 7-11 parking lot. And frankly, we shouldn’t have been surprised – that much success and adoration throughout one’s teens is never a good thing. (We need a few years of being awkward and feeling disgusting to be damaged just enough.) It all culminated in an awkward 'retirement' announcement on Christmas.

However, 2013 saw the worst Justin Bieber has to offer. Mark Wahlberg may have reminded us that Stratford’s finest has yet to go to prison (unlike Marky Mark himself), but Biebs still managed to outdo himself in terms of terrible decision-making. Here are some of those highlights (or is that lowlights?):

10 Best 'SNL' Sketches Of 2013

$

Quite a bit changed for “Saturday Night Live” since 2012 ended. Putting together this “Best of 2013” list, it almost feels like more than just four months separated the two seasons that comprised the year, because watching clips from early 2013 is so different from what aired over the last few months. Anyway, these 10 sketches represent the best of “SNL” from this past calendar year (the pool from the last half of the 38th season and the first half of the 39th). Like all lists, you will agree with some choices and disagree with others.

10. "4th Grade Talent Show"

It’s a shame John Milhiser hasn’t gotten much of a chance with this overly bloated cast (at least Brooks Wheelan gets to joke about his lack of air time). Here, however, on one of his few occasions, he took a simple concept of parents watching their child’s talent show and turned it into something that will still be funny 20 years from now.

9. ”New Tarantino Movie”

In one calendar year, we got the perfect Wes Anderson parody and the perfect Quentin Tarantino parody. And who would have guessed that Christoph Waltz was going to host the best “SNL” of 2013?

8. “Maine Justice”

I wish Jason Sudeikis had thought of “Maine Justice” a few years ago instead of during his final season at “SNL.” Then we’d have had -– who knows? -– seven, eight, maybe even nine installments? Instead, we have two. This is officially the last time I will ever get to write about “Maine Justice” (until Sudeikis comes back to host, I suppose), so ... goodbye, old friend. I will miss you.

7. ”Divorce Meeting”

Over the holidays, my friend from home (St. Louis) set his phone out on the table at a local chain restaurant and waited for someone to call it. Nobody did because nobody other than my mother makes phone calls any longer. Finally he asked me to call his phone, which is an odd request, but I was four pints in so I didn’t ask any questions. His ringtone was “I Don’t Want To Know” by Fleetwood Mac. He knew I would laugh. I did laugh. I will always laugh from this point forward when I hear that song because it reminds me of Paul Rudd and Vanessa Bayer dancing to their ringtones. (It actually pains me that I can't find this sketch online anywhere due to song rights issues.)

6. "Beer Pong"

The Kyle Mooney-Beck Bennett team is an interesting one to watch. They almost serve has a new-guard version of Lonely Island, only with a little more odd, less in-your-face-I’m-on-a-boat attitude. “Beer Pong” has been their best effort so far, I just wish “SNL” would give these guys the room to do more (but, alas, there ares, like, 37 people in the cast right now).

5. “Z Shirt”

I’ve lamented before about the loss of Tim Robinson from the “SNL” cast (he’s still on the show as a writer), and his greatest gift to us was “Z Shirt.” First, Robinson nailed the weird energy of a mid-‘90s “hip” commercial. Second, the seemingly never-ending “Is it an A Shirt?” payoff in a completely different sketch was a precursor to what we’d eventually see with “Darrell’s House.” (And then never again, unfortunately.)

4. “(Do It On My) Twin Bed”

It’s nice to see the ladies of “SNL” band together like this. After the Fey, Poehler, Rudolph, Dratch era of “SNL” ended, Kristen Wiig dominated the show. For whatever reason, there wasn’t much room for collaboration during this era. It seems that we just may be headed toward another golden age for the women of “SNL.”

3. ”New Horror Trailer”

From a technical standpoint, this is the best thing “SNL” has produced all year. I mean, this might as well be a Wes Anderson movie, because it sure looks like one.

2. ”Stefon’s Goodbye”

I had a love/mildly-annoyed relationship with Bill Hader’s Stefon. He’s one of the most popular characters to ever be on “SNL,” but there was some overuse here along the way. Stefon sort of became like The Fonz, in the fact that he could just show up and people would start cheering. Regardless of all that, Stefon’s last appearance was about as perfect of a farewell as there can be. Not to even mention the lucky coincidence that Ben Affleck was hosting -- Affleck played Stefon’s brother in Stefon’s first ever “SNL” appearance an resurrected that relationship for Stefon’s last appearance.

1. “Darrell’s House”

This is by far the most innovative sketch of the year. I wish “SNL” would try more stuff like this. Sure, it made zero sense before we saw the second half of the sketch -- which did not air back-to-back-- but, boy what a payoff.

Never Irrelevant: Beyoncé Does it Again

It was around nine p.m. on Thursday, December 12 when I saw my friend's Facebook Status, "BEYONCE DROPPED FULL ALBUM WITH VIDEOS ON ITUNES"

There was just no way. I hadn't heard about her releasing a new album -- nor had the press covered it. Wanting to see if the information was true, I quickly opened the iTunes store, only to see that the home page was covered in pictures of the Queen.

Her self titled album, "Beyoncé," had been out for less than 24 hours before it dominated the charts, coming in at number one AND two. For most artists, promotion is a huge deal -- it helps guarantee that people will hear about their album, that it will create buzz and generate sales. Beyoncé completely disregarded the norm. We shouldn't be surprised.

Here's an artist who in one night manages to beat the status quo, release an album without promo and have everyone talk about it. From Facebook to Twitter, celebrities like Demi Lovato and Sarah Hyland could not contain their excitement:

"I'm literally FUH-REAKING OUT over this new #BEYONCE... The music vids?!!?! I CANT HANDLE THIS MUCH FIERCENESS.... #NOJOKE #DYING," Demi Lovato tweeted.

The experiment paid off and the risk factor did not go unnoticed by others in the industry.

"Beyoncé just spent zero dollars and zero minutes on marketing this new album," tweeted YouTuber, Tyler Oakley, "knowing we'd do it for her".

Most artists don't even think to put out albums while their touring, but Beyoncé proves to be quite the unique individual.

I suppose it's safe to say that Beyoncé is the Queen. She conquered one more boundary and she should just be called BeyonSLAY as she is slaying her own record-breaking sales. It was just announced that her album has become the fastest selling album ever on iTunes, downloaded 828,773 times in just three days. With 617,213 sold, she also breaks country-pop artist, Taylor Swift's record for the most (first week) albums sold in the U.S. And if you have seen Beyoncé perform, you would know why.

Just a few weeks ago, from the floor of Staples Center I watched the Queen dance, sing, fly from stage-to-stage and put on one of the best shows I've ever seen. From the light display to the simple production of her videos, the show was flawless. Beyoncé's concert was more than just a show. It was about empowerment. Her message displayed what it means to be a woman, and the many ways one can do it.

Beyoncé has shown us that behind every man there is a good woman and behind every woman is the innate ability to EXCEL! I left fully convinced that I could do anything. It was inspiring, motivating, captivating and, above all, FUN! I don't think that we have had an artist in our generation to do so much to captivate us all. What could be better, right? Little did I know that the Queen was just getting started having us [all] "bow down."

With her power concert and the latest surprise release, Beyoncé has once again let us know that she is not just reinventing Superwoman, but may be redefining the industry, as well. I am sure there is more to come.

Also to my surprise, she featured me on her Tumblr! (Being a HUGE Beyoncé fan, this was the cherry on top to a perfect experience, making it truly memorable!)

Tori Spelling Ignores Dean McDermott Cheating Allegations, Shares Family Christmas Photos

Nothing was going to stop Christmas at Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's house, not even cheating allegations.

The married couple made the cover of this week's Us Weekly with the headline "Tori Betrayed" splashed across the magazine. A woman named Emily Goodhand, 28, claims she had sex with McDermott on Dec. 6 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto while he was promoting his show, "Chopped Canada."

"He told me he and Tori had a sexless marriage," Goodhand told the magazine. "I believed him."

Goodhand claims she met McDermott through friends, and they became friendly over a long meal at Pravada Vodka House. Afterward, the two exchanged phone numbers and the reality star allegedly slipped his hotel key card with his room number into her purse.

Reps for the couple declined to comment on the allegations, but Spelling seems to have decided to just ignore the reports for now. On Christmas Day, the 40-year-old actress took to her blog and posted a photo of her four children, offering Christmas wishes to her fans.

"As another year comes to a close, I can’t help but feel so grateful for all of my blessings. My beautiful family, my amazing friends, and of course, all of you!" the former "Beverly Hills: 90210" star wrote. "We’re spending the day together -– cuddling, cooking, baking, unwrapping gifts, eating, watching movies and counting our blessings ..."

The note was signed by all the family's members, including McDermott.

It's been a rough year for the McDermott clan, as Spelling claimed the family was having serious financial issues (a claim McDermott later contested), and these cheating allegations aren't the first rumblings of a troubled marriage.

In March, Spelling wrote an open letter to Star magazine vehemently denying reports that the couple was headed toward divorce.

Beyonce's 'Self-Titled' Part 3 Looks At The Making Of 'Drunk In Love'

Even Beyonce has a Christmas gift for us. The singer released the third behind-the-scenes look at the making of her self-titled surprise album on Wednesday while you were stuffing yourself with turkey and new toys. In the five-minute video, titled "Run 'N Gun," Beyonce zeros in on the Jay Z collaboration "Drunk in Love" before touching on the filming of "No Angel," "Yoncé" and "XO" -- which she reveals were among 80 songs recorded for the new album. Along the way, the singer talks about "trying to rebel against perfection" by not planning out every aspect of the accompanying music videos. Terry Richardson and Coney Island make appearances, and Beyonce continues her musings on "fun and art and creativity" and not wanting to obtain permits to film her videos. Watch below.

'American Hustle' Costumes Offer A Portrait Of Swanky '70s Fashion

LOS ANGELES (AP) — From Christian Bale's burgundy velour blazer to Amy Adams' plunging sequin halter dress, "American Hustle" is a cinematic romp through the over-the-top styles of the 1970s.

Set in New York and New Jersey in 1978, the film tells the story of a pair of con artists (Bale and Adams) forced to work for a cocky FBI agent (Bradley Cooper) bent on bringing down powerbrokers and politicians. This decadent world of power, crime and big money comes to life through ostentatious fashions and outrageous hairdos. All the characters are reinventing themselves, and it shows in their clothes. "They had ideas, they lived large and they took risks," costume designer Michael Wilkinson said of the '70s styles that inspired his designs. "Clothes were less structured, had less underpinnings — it was like people didn't give a damn."

Though the Australian-born Wilkinson said his childhood was drenched in American pop culture, "I approached this as a research project, just like you would study about the Greek ruins or outer galaxy."

He scoured Cosmopolitan magazine, along with advertisements, movies and TV shows of the era. "Goodfellas" and "Atlantic City" were particularly influential films.

"And 'Saturday Night Fever' from 1977," Wilkinson added. "(That) had the most pertinence to Bradley Cooper's character. He's a guy from the Bronx, and he lived life as a black-and-white moral shooter working for the FBI, and wears a cheap polyester suit that doesn't fit him so well."

The character ups his fashion game after meeting the dapper con-couple.

"He ends up in a silk shirt and silk scarf, which are pop-culture references," Wilkinson said. "And then he wears a leather jacket to the FBI."

The designer relished in Halston's vintage vault, to which he was granted access for the film, and he dressed Adams in authentic pieces from the '70s.

"The lines (of clothing silhouettes) of the late '70s, with designers like Halston, were reinventing the wardrobe of women," he said. "It was about being comfortable in your skin and walking tall."

Hair is so prominent in "American Hustle," it's practically another character. Lead hairstylist Kathrine Gordon studied old issues of Playboy and high-school yearbooks from the '70s for inspiration.

She and Bale worked together to create his character's elaborate comb-over, complete with fuzzy, glue-on hairpiece. The film opens with a scene of its careful construction.

"I came up with this idea to stuff it," Gordon said of the comb-over she cut into Bale's real hair. "And then (director) David (O'Russell) rewrote the script, and I taught Christian how to do it on camera."

Adams wears styles reminiscent of disco parties, Studio 54 and "the Breck girl" ads of the era. Jeremy Renner, who plays a New Jersey politician, has a fluffy bouffant. Jennifer Lawrence, an unhappy wife in the film, wears bouncy, sex-kitten updos whether she's going out or not. And Cooper rocks a tight perm: He's shown wearing curling rods in one scene.

Wilkinson, whose film credits include "Man of Steel," ''Tron: Legacy" and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part II," said he especially loved playing with fabrics, colors and prints for Bale's charming con-man.

"I'm really proud of Christian Bale," the designer said. "It shows the possibility of an expression of personality in menswear. He explores his character in his clothes and he's a man of the world. He mixes prints!"

For Fergie, Motherhood Is The Top Priority

Fergie and husband Josh Duhamel had their first son, Axl Jack, in August. Since the summer, the singer has embraced motherhood and welcomed a more modest lifestyle.

Fergie told In Touch Weekly that being a mom has become her top priority, even over her fame. Though she loves spending time with her son and watching him grow, she said, "I’m still trying to find my footing and balance it all." Still, the Black–Eyed Peas star isn't putting too much pressure on herself. "I think all new moms can relate to that," she added.

However, Fergie has begun to notice how much a child affects her lifestyle -- notably her choice of footwear. "I'm wearing lower heels when I hold my son -- it’s definitely more comfortable," she said. Turns out her signature high heels weren't the most conducive to carrying around a baby. "Now I’m getting more into the flats section because I have a kid. So pregnancy and becoming a mom have really lowered my heels," she previously joked in an interview on ABC News Radio.

As for her son's future, Fergie is hoping that Axl will follow in her musical footsteps. "I'd care if he wants to be a singer or not," she told In Touch. "He's starting to try to talk to me and sing with me! I'll sit there and sing with him and he'll look at me and laugh and try to chime in!"

Fergie opens up about her experiences as a new mother and her hopes for having a baby girl in the current issue of In Touch Weekly.

Shakira Celebrates Catalan Christmas Tradition With Milan

The Colombian singer share a family photo on her twitter with her son Milan and her partner Gerard Pique of the unique Catalan Christmas tradition of “Caga Tio.”

*Milan and his first “Caga Tio”( Christmas tradition from Catalan) at her great grandmother’s house! Shak

The family seems to follow this tradition since Pique also shared last year an image of the “Caga Tio” when Shakira was around 8 months pregnant.

Feeding the Poop Log: A Catalan Christmas tradition

Caga Tio, pronounced “Cacka-tee-oh” is a wooden log with a smiley face painted onto one end. Caga Tio also wears a traditional Catalan red hat and is basically the Catalan equivalent of Santa Clause. Any one with a little Spanish knowledge, knows that “tio” means “uncle“, however it also means “log” and Caga Tio translates to “poo Log.“

The idea is that Caga Tio is “looked after” by the kids from the 8th of December to Christmas Eve. They cover his rear end with a blanket to keep him warm and feed him with candy, turron and orange peels every evening. The more they feed him, the more Christmas presents he will “poo-out” for Christmas.

The children are given a stick with which they hit the “Caga Tio” and they sing a special song:

“Caga Tio avellanes I torró
Si no vols cagar
Et donanem un cop de pal.”

This translates as:

“Caga Tio hazelnuts and turron
If you don’t want to poo
We will hit you with a stick”

The children then reach inside the Caga Tio’s blanket and find sweets and small toys. Similar to the sorts of treats that children receive in their stockings from Santa Claus. When everyone has collected their gifts from the Caga Tio, the family burns him for warmth.

Hopefully Milan received a lot of presents and sweets from his own Caga Tio.

Alabama Lawmaker Plans Resolution Calling 'Duck Dynasty' Star A Hero For His Anti-Gay Remarks

Offended by A&E’s recent suspension of "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson for making homophobic and racist comments during a GQ magazine interview, Alabama state Sen. Jerry Fielding (R-Sylacauga) plans to introduce a resolution lauding Robertson as a hero, according to the Daily Home.

Robertson has been placed on temporary hiatus from his family's reality show after comparing homosexuality to bestiality and suggesting that African Americans were happier working the fields “pre-welfare.”

“I never, with my eyes, saw the mistreatment of any black person. Not once. ... I hoed cotton with them. ... They’re singing and happy,” Robertson told GQ. “I never heard one of them, one black person, say, ‘I tell you what: These doggone white people’ -- not a word! ... Pre-entitlement, pre-welfare, you say: Were they happy? They were godly; they were happy; no one was singing the blues.”

Fielding said that the network had “bowed to pressures from liberal groups rather than respecting Robertson’s biblically correct views” and that he believes a “vast majority of Alabamians” share Robertson’s views. The former Democrat pledged his and thousands of unnamed Alabamians' support for Phil Robertson, urging A&E to reverse the suspension.

According to the Daily Home, Fielding’s proposed resolution, which will be introduced when the Alabama Legislature convenes next month, declares:

Whereas, renown[ed] entrepreneur, Louisiana outdoorsman, and reality television star Phil Robertson has positively impacted countless lives through the powerful testimony of his steadfast faith in Jesus Christ and how it has transformed his life; and Whereas Phil Robertson, along with his family ... have served as ambassadors of the love and grace of the Heavenly Father ... Whereas recently, Phil has received backlash for expressing his personal views on homosexuality that were based on scripture in the Bible in an interview with GQ Magazine; ultimately, the Arts and Entertainment Network (A&E) punished him for his beliefs and suspended him indefinitely from the reality television show, Duck Dynasty ... Whereas a portion of the politically correct populous [sic], which strongly encourages tolerance and open-mindedness, is now contradicting themselves with extreme intolerance and close-mindedness towards Phil and his personal beliefs, which stem from his rock-solid Christian faith ... Phil should not be penalized in any way for practicing freedom of speech, but should be celebrated as a hero for courageously revealing his self-truth and Christian ideals in a world that can be unkind towards those with a conservative mind-set ... now therefore, Be it resolved by the Legislature of Alabama, both houses thereof concurring, that this chamber of persons stand united in support of Phil Robertson and his family, and in opposition to the A&E Network's deplorable action of suspending Phil indefinitely from Duck Dynasty for relaying his Christian beliefs.

On Friday, Bristol Palin, daughter of former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, also expressed solidarity with the "Duck Dynasty" star by taking to her Patheos blog to attack the LGBT community and condemn A&E.

"Everyone needs to leave Phil Robertson alone for expressing his beliefs," Bristol Palin, herself a veteran of reality TV, wrote. "I hate how the LGBT community says it's all about 'love' and 'equality.' However, if you don't agree with their lifestyle, they spread the most hate. It is so hypocritical it makes my stomach turn."

Johnny Depp Spent Nearly $50K On Amber Heard's Christmas Gift

Amber Heard must have been extra nice this year, because boyfriend Johnny Depp didn't cut any corners with finding her a super extravagant Christmas gift.

According to Life & Style Weekly, Depp dropped nearly $50,000 at jeweler Neil Lane on gifts for Heard. An eyewitness told the magazine, "He got her diamond drop earrings set in platinum -- about two carats total." Apparently, he didn't stop there. The actor also bought a diamond pendant to complete the set.

The couple first met in 2011 on the set of "The Rum Diary." At the time, Depp was in a long–term relationship with the mother of his children, Vanessa Paradis. Since the film, the actor has ended his previous relationship and entered one with Heard. The young actress spoke of her relationship with Depp in an interview with Company magazine: "It is really hard when you spend your life living out of a suitcase. But it really does weed out superficial people -– if someone is still with you after the second movie then they’re probably a good one! I like to trust people in general –- it’s the southern girl in me."

If Depp's holiday spending budget is any indicator, we'll say their relationship is going quite well.

Request for comment made by the Huffington Post to Depp's representative has yet to be returned.

Somehow, Jessica Biel still manages to look good in onesie pajamas.

Biel was dressed in a red plaid onesie when she posed for a photo on Wednesday, Dec. 25. The fresh-faced 31-year-old was seen smiling on her couch with her hands behind her head beside a glowing tree. She wasn't ashamed to show off her footie PJs.

"If holiday pajamas are wrong then I don't wanna be right. Merry Christmas!" she wrote on Instagram.

The pajama-clad starlet wasn't the only one who decided to rock some festive, albeit casual, attire on Christmas Day. Taylor Swift and her brother wore matching red plaid onesies for their holiday celebration.
