Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) is in pretty bad shape when "Supernatural" Season 9 returns (Tues. Oct. 8 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW) ... in fact, he's dying. Naturally, this doesn't sit too well with big brother Dean (Jensen Ackles), who just decided to forgo closing the gates of Hell in order to save his sibling's life.

Although we still have three weeks until our heroic brothers return to continue fighting the good fight, these newly released photos from the Season 9 premiere, titled "I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here," should help tide us over. Not only do they feature the return of fan-favorite Bobby (Jim Beaver), they also give us our first real glimpse of Tahmoh Penikett's fallen angel Ezekiel.

Check out the premiere images and the full-length trailer for "I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here" below, then let us know what you're most looking forward to about Season 9 in the comments!

JK Rowling: Single Motherhood Is The Thing I'm Most Proud Of

J.K. Rowling may be best known for writing one of the most successful children's book series of all time, but Harry Potter is not what she's most proud of.

In an essay for Gingerbread, an organization that supports single parents in the UK, Rowling -- who is the president of the organization -- says that being a single mom to daughter Jessica gives her the most pride.

"I would say to any single parent currently feeling the weight of stereotype or stigmatization that I am prouder of my years as a single mother than of any other part of my life," she wrote. "Yes, I got off benefits and wrote the first four Harry Potter books as a single mother, but nothing makes me prouder than what Jessica told me recently about the first five years of her life: ‘I never knew we were poor. I just remember being happy.’"

Despite her fame and success, Rowling writes that the single parent stigma persisted.

"There was still no escaping the Single Parent tag; it followed me to financial stability and fame just as it had clung to me in poverty and obscurity," she wrote. "I became Single Parent Writes Award-Winning Children’s Book/Earns Record American Advance/Gets Film Deal."

Rowling went on to say that she is working with Gingerbread to enact policy changes that will positively impact the lives of single parents and their children.

"It’s investment in single parent employment that will allow single parents to work their own way out of poverty and secure real savings from the welfare bill," she wrote. "Nothing outlandish: affordable childcare, decent training, employers embracing flexible hours, and a long, hard look at low pay."

This isn't the first time Rowling, who is now remarried, has opened up about single parenthood. In 2011, Rowling appeared on the show "Who Do You Think You Are?" to learn more about her ancestry and discovered that several of her ancestors were single moms as well.

“What I’m very struck by is how many single mothers I’m descended from in this line of the family. There’s a definite parallel here. Twenty years ago, I was teaching and writing in my spare time ... and then not long after that, I became a single mum, so I feel the connection,” she said.

Thanks for Keeping It Real, DJ Mister Cee

$

A few weeks ago I asked my wife why it had taken so long for a song like Macklemore's "Same Love" to be made. She wisely responded that it was not until recently that such a song could be made. While our society has made a lot of progress with regard to gay rights, we still have a long way to go, and much homophobia remains, especially in the world of hip-hop.

I grew up listening to a lot of hip-hop music. I still do. And I will always love it for its creative use of beats and rhythm, not to mention its word craft. I also love its storytelling tradition and its ability to make important political points to the masses. But there is no doubt that, like the society we live in, hip-hop contains a lot of misogyny and homophobia.

Being the son of a feminist leader, and having been raised by lesbians, I would often cringe or stop myself from rapping along when a song reached the words "bitch," "ho" or "fag." I definitely came to a full stop at the word "nigga."

Last week Hot 97's DJ Mister Cee, a legendary hip-hop DJ who worked on Big Daddy Kane's 1988 debut album Long Live the Kane and discovered Biggie Smalls and worked on his seminal 1994 album Ready to Die, momentarily resigned from the iconic radio station after over 20 years there, citing his latest arrest for soliciting transgender prostitutes. He initially explained that he did not want his actions to draw negative attention to his employer.

However, in an extremely candid on-air interview the day following his resignation, Mister Cee told listeners that he was "tired of trying to do something or be something that I'm not." While he denied being gay, he admitted that he was grappling with his sexual identity and may be bisexual. He also announced his intention to engage in therapy to deal with these issues and vowed to cease his criminal activity with prostitutes.

Sadly, Mister Cee explained that he was concerned that his sexuality and his engaging in sexual acts with transsexuals might prevent him from getting bookings. Implicitly, he also seemed to be questioning whether his sexual identity and his hip-hop identity could coexist.

This should not be surprising. The problem has not just been the "YouTube comments lately," as Macklemore raps in "Same Love." Rather, Mister Cee, who is more intimate with hip-hop culture than most, had a strong basis for believing that "hip-hop hates [him]." The use of the word "gay" as a slur or put-down has been prevalent in rap lyrics and hip-hop culture for a long time. A DJ spinning those words for years would know that best.

However, Ebro Darden, the Hot 97 program director, was unwavering in his support for Mister Cee, telling him, "There's nothing wrong with being who you are," and urging him to withdraw his resignation. Other hip-hop legends, including DJ Funkmaster Flex, also chimed in with their support. And in an interview with XXL, Mister Cee stated that the vast majority of fans were supportive of his being honest about his sexuality.

While this was surely a big moment in hip-hop, particularly in its acceptance of an emotional conversation about sexuality and manhood between men, I actually believe that it is in line with an important part of hip-hop's ethos, which instructs us to "keep it real," for being true to oneself surely includes being honest and open about one's sexuality, being more authentic and being vulnerable.

Of course, no one should be outed against their will, and an individual has the right to keep their sexuality private. But all people should be able to freely discuss their sexuality and love lives without having to think twice about it. This allows us to be our whole selves wherever we are.

Public figures, especially in traditionally hypermasculine or homphobic arenas like hip-hop or professional basketball, such as Mister Cee and Jason Collins, have a tremendous impact when they are honest about their sexuality. This is because, as Cee remarked, "the truth will set you free." And not only does it set the speaker free; it sets us all free as it opens our minds about the diverse experience that is humanity. In other words, keeping it real can't be wrong.

Cher: Divorce From Sonny Bono Took A Long Time To Overcome

It's no secret that Cher isn't a fan of her late ex-husband Sonny Bono. The mega star has told interviewers in the past that he was "a terrible husband" who "hurt [her] in so many ways." But now, she's opening up about how the actual divorce affected her.

Cher spoke to USA Today about her new album, her prolific career, and the struggles she has faced throughout the years, which stemmed from her 1975 divorce. She told the newspaper that the strain the split put on her finances and career was something she was afraid she would never overcome.

"I thought I'd never climb out of that hole," she said. "I had no money, and I had to pay him $2 million. It took a long time. I worked my way into a spot in Las Vegas playing two shows a night. My managers were making more money than I was. I pride myself on still being here. A lot of people were gigantic, and then they were gone."

Sonny Bono died in 1998 in a skiing accident. But before his death, Bono went on the record to refute Cher's claims that he was a bad husband. In 1991, he published the book And the Beat Goes On about their life together, and told People magazine that Cher "wasn't a victim."

We have to be honest: We have a lot of sympathy for married celebrity couples. After all, it's hard enough making a marriage work without the constant media scrutiny -- "Are they divorce-bound?" "Is she cheating on him with her co-star in that new movie?" "Are they just together for the publicity?" It's a lot for any couple to endure!

Maybe that's why so many divorced celebs marry non-celebs when they do decide to remarry.

Andy Herren Wins 'Big Brother 15'

Andy Herren is the winner of "Big Brother" Season 15, beating out GinaMarie Zimmerman and Spencer Clawson to earn the $500,000 prize.

It was a long road to winning CBS' summer series -- the final Head of Household competition was played in three parts. GinaMarie won the first competition, while Andy won the second and third rounds, choosing to take GinaMarie to the Final Two instead of Spencer.

When the jury grilled Andy and Spencer, Andy answered the eliminated houseguests' questions confidently, while GinaMarie stumbled over her answers.

"I know that I stabbed everyone in the back," Andy admitted while answering the jurors' questions about why he should be awarded the money. "I appreciate a good game … I'm sorry I had to backstab all of you because I love all of you and I'm not a terrible person, I promise!"

The jury vote came down 7-2 in Andy's favor, with only Judd and Aaryn voting for GinaMarie to win. Elissa Slater was voted America's Favorite Houseguest and won $25,000. The runners up were Judd and Howard.

"Big Brother 15" was described as the most controversial season yet, and some of the contestants' racist, sexist and homophobic comments resulted in two members of the final three being fired from their jobs while still in the house. GinaMarie was fired from her job as a pageant coordinator in July and Andy was reportedly fired from his college teaching job earlier this week, while Spencer's employer publicly spoke out against some of the contestant's derogatory comments. Fellow houseguest Aaryn Gries was also fired as a result of her bigoted remarks.

Are you pleased that Andy won "Big Brother 15"?

Did 'Dads' Steal A 25-Year-Old Joke From 'Murphy Brown'?

Fox's new sitcom "Dads" has been slammed for being offensive, racist, sexist, ageist and one of the worst new comedies of the season -- but is it also guilty of joke stealing?

A joke that Martin Mull's character made in the pilot about the pronunciation of "Shiite" seemed lazy, but, truthfully, also the least of the show's many problems. It wasn't until we realized where we'd heard that exact joke before that the show got one final groan from us.

A very similar joke was made in the pilot for "Murphy Brown" ... 25 years ago.

Watch the video proof, above, and tell us: Is this just laziness or very belated comedy theft?

"Dads" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.

Amy Poehler Does An Adorable Impression Of Her 3-Year-Old (VIDEO)

With 3- and 5-year-old boys at home, Amy Poehler has no shortage of new funny material. For example, on Tuesday, she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and shared a few of her kindergartner Archie's recent one-liners. ("We're made out of meat!" "What does furniture mean?")

But with Abel, Poehler's younger son, the way he talks cracks her up even more than what he says. "Abel is so cute. He's got red hair and a lisp which is just a jackpot for me," she told Kimmel. So while some parents are sentimental about their toddlers saying words such as "lello" and "amnimals," Poehler enjoys hearing Abel mispronounce things like ... "spicy salsa." Naturally, she'll go to great lengths to get him to say it too.

And the words you told us you love to hear your kids say are...

'Big Brother' Finale: Did Andy, GinaMarie Or Spencer Win? (VIDEO)

In the 90-minute season finale, "Big Brother" crowned its 15th winner after a season of controversy and improved ratings. It was down to Andy Herren, GinaMarie Zimmerman and Spencer Clawson. But then there was the final competition, and the first round was about hanging on and roller skating. In other words, Spencer was out almost immediately.

In the end, it came down to Andy and GinaMarie, with Andy winning the final Head of Household of the season. Saying that he was staying true to a Day 1 vow, Andy took GinaMarie with him to the end, making Spencer the final member of the jury. So who won?

Well, considering part of winning is making a compelling case to a potentially bitter jury, GM was at a distinct disadvantage. She's become notorious for stumbling over her words and struggling to make a coherent point. And, as expected, she was up to her usual standards during the interrogation. Plus, Andy did play a longer and more strategic game, flying under the radar and playing every side of the house at the same time. Who knew floating could be a winning strategy?

In the end, it was a 7-2 vote and Andy took home the $500,000 grand prize, leaving GinaMarie with the not-too-shabby $50,000 runner-up check. There was a $25,000 prize for "America's Favorite," which proved no surprise either. Likely in large part thanks to her sister, Season 13 winner Rachel Reilly, Elissa Slater took home this prize.

“I’ve been as skeptical as the next guy of Andy’s whole gameplay style. He hopscotched between power alliances. He threw people under the bus. The couple of times that he had power in the house, he nervously did his best to hand that power off to someone else. But Andy made a good case for himself," wrote Entertainment Weekly's Darren Franich. "You might not like his gameplay, and it certainly didn’t create much drama. But he won fair and square.”

As E! Online's Tierney Bricker pointed out, both Andy and GM actually need the money. "Now that the houseguests are back in the real world, a few of them will learn they actually lost their jobs for some of the comments they made on the livefeeds, including GinaMarie and winner Andy, as well as Aaryn Gries.”

'America's Got Talent' Finale: Who Won America's Wildest Talent Show? (VIDEO)

On "America's Got Talent," it came down to a unique dancer and a comedian. So who did America support? Was it Taylor Williamson or Kenichi Ebina?

Kenichi's jaw dropped when he heard Nick Cannon announce his name as the winner of Season 8. "Oh my God," Kenichi said. "I don’t know what I can tell, but it’s amazing!” Now he can look forward to that headlining show in Las Vegas. We can just imagine the ideas churning through his head already about how to utilize this new opportunity.

The judges were on their feet after Kenichi's victory. They'd been championing Kenichi's unique vision for weeks now. "This is why ‘America’s Got Talent’ is great," said Howard Stern. "We discovered a superstar.”

Over at Buddy TV, Ted Kindig said that America got this one right. "Kenichi really deserved it -- he was the most consistently creative act of the season, and he's exactly what this show is all about," he wrote. "I'm also thrilled to see Taylor do so well -- even if he doesn't get a modest income of 25,000 a year for the next 40 years (as is the prize), this has still been great exposure for him.”

'The X Factor': Teen Carlos Guevara Overcomes Tourette's Syndrome To Blow Judges Away (VIDEO)

It's a shame that nobody's watching anymore, because "The X Factor" is finding some pretty amazing talent already in its third season. In 16-year-old high school student Carlos Guevara, they found both an impressive vocal talent, as well as an inspirational story. And if there's one thing singing competitions love almost more than singing talent, it's inspirational stories.

Carlos has Tourette's Syndrome, meaning he suffers from involuntary motor and vocal tics. Things have gotten so severe, that the class vice-president and football player had to withdraw from his high school. But he hasn't given up on his dream, and had the support of a ton of family and friends backstage. He also quickly won over the audience with his story.

“They tried every medicine in the book, and the only thing that could help me was music," Carlos said, before taking on John Mayer's "Gravity." In the middle of his performance, the teen muttered, "This is amazing," which only endeared him that much more to the panel and crowd. Wetpaint's Julia Wayne said that he pulled on her heartstrings so much she wanted to "full-on adopt him."

With four easy "Yes" votes, he was on to the next round. Buddy TV's Esther Gim was an instant fan as well. "As if I'm already trying to pretend I'm not crying, a big group of his friends has come to support him," she wrote. "I can't believe that the kid I thought was just nervous in the beginning is this confident singer with a unique and smooth voice.”

The audition rounds of "The X Factor" continue on Fox, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET.

'Duck Dynasty': John Luke Channels 'David After Dentist' Viral Video (VIDEO)

"Duck Dynasty" went viral this week when Willie and Korie took their son John Luke for a wisdom teeth removal. They even titled the episode "John Luke After Dentist" in a clear nod to the now-classic viral video, "David After Dentist."

Just like little David, John Luke was absolutely out of it after his procedure, leading to some rather bizarre comments and noises. He said all kinds of nonsensical things, like, "Hungry fella?" and "Just for funzies." He also said he had "eagle powers," squirted water from a spray gun all over the office, told his mom he was "hungry for love," told the doctor to "bend over," and repeated the phrase "bumblebee tuna" over and over again.

“There’s a lot of reasons not to do drugs, kids," Willie said while witnessing this wacky display. And Korie caught it all on her camera phone -- because apparently the professional cameras filming the show weren't enough?

Over at Channel Guide Magazine, Stacey Harrison loved the mash-up of John Luke's post-procedure weirdness, but Penn Live's Marcus Schneck wasn't feeling it at all, saying that it felt like a rip-off of David's after-dentist video. "Was tonight the ‘jump the shark’ moment for America's No. 1 reality show," he wondered. "That point when the producers or the director or someone behind the camera over-scripted too much of the show?”

"Duck Dynasty" continues every Wednesday night at 10 p.m. ET on A&E.

Joy Behar Reveals She Was Fired From 'The View' (VIDEO)

On "The Tonight Show," Joy Behar revealed that she was actually fired from "The View." Okay, so that wasn't what went down behind her decision to leave the show this past August. That time, she left on her own terms. Behar was talking about an earlier occurrence back in 2006, when Rosie O'Donnell was poised to join the show.

At the time, O'Donnell coming onto the show was a big secret that Barbara Walters was going to announce at the Emmys. But then Behar let it slip while talking to "Entertainment Tonight" at an Emmys gifting suite, and Walters was none too pleased.

“You ever feel like you’re going to have a heart attack?” Behar asked, recalling the phone call she received from Walters. According to Behar, Walters said, "Hello, Joy? It’s Barbara. And I just want you to know I’m not renewing your contract."

Unfortunately, Jay Leno cut Behar off before she could explain how she got back into Walters' good graces. Obviously she did, as Behar continued on the show for the next seven years. Next year, Walters herself will be joining Behar in the post-"The View" world. The 83-year-old broadcast legend announced that she'll be retiring from television in 2014. Walters will be the last of the original co-hosts to leave the show.

As of now, her departure will leave only Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy at the table. Longtime co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck also left the show this year to work on Fox News. At that point, "The View" will have two chairs to fill, so start your speculation now.

"The View" airs every weekday at 11 a.m. ET on ABC, while "The Tonight Show" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC.

Aaron Paul On How Bryan Cranston Cracked Him Up On Last Day Of Shooting 'Breaking Bad' (VIDEO)

Aaron Paul talked about the last day of filming on "Breaking Bad" during his visit to "Jimmy Kimmel Live," and it was hilarious. Not what you'd normally expect from such an intense show, but series star Bryan Cranston had a way to ensure everyone wrapped the shoot with a smile.

The final scene filmed was actually a scene that we saw during last week's episode. It was that flashback sequence to when Walt and Jesse did their first cook out in the desert. In a way, that made the filming experience come full circle for the cast and crew, ending where the story really began.

"The final take, he comes walking up and the camera can just see his backside. I can’t," Paul said. "And I just hear outside people laughing. And I’m trying to hide in my tears because I know the show’s almost done, and then he just turns around and starts walking away, and he’s naked. He had pulled down his pants. Any time he can have the opportunity to show me his ass, he does.”

“That’s very considerate," laughed Kimmel.

While their last scene together has already aired, there are still two more episodes of "Breaking Bad" for fans to enjoy. The series finale airs Sunday, September 29 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC. But why watch it at home when you could watch it with the show's stars?

Paul is currently running a contest through omaze.com where fans can bid for a trip to Los Angeles where they'll get to "cook" with Paul and Cranston, and then watch both the pilot and the finale with the stars. The lucky winner will then get to join the cast at the star-studded after party. Oh, and Aaron Paul himself will pick you up at the airport!

Watch the final two episodes of "Breaking Bad," Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC. "Jimmy Kimmel Live" airs every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC.

'Survivor: Blood Vs. Water' Premiere: Redemption Island Returns More Confusing Than Ever (VIDEO)

"Survivor" returned with a new twist and a milestone. The 27th season premiere just happened to also be the 400th episode of the long-running reality series. And for its latest season, Jeff Probst and company reached back into that history to come up with the latest batch of contestants. Subtitled "Blood vs. Water," the season features ten returning castaways -- including one from the very first season -- and their various loved ones.

The twist was that they would be competing against their loved ones rather than alongside them. But that wasn't the only wrinkle. Ensuring that this season is as complicated as possible, Probst announced the return of Redemption Island. And, because he's cruel, he had the tribes each send someone there the second they got together.

The newbies voted out four-time player Rupert Boneham's wife, Laura, while the veterans voted out three-time player Candice Cody. But, there was a new twist. Anyone could opt to take their loved one's place on Redemption Island. If they do, the loved one returns to the sacrificing player's team. So when Rupert stepped up to replace his wife on Redemption Island, she returned to his tribe, becoming the only newbie in a tribe of veterans.

“To put myself in a position where I am not safe is killing me," Rupert said. "But I would rather have myself in this position than I would my wife. Laura deserves to play the game.”

Buddy TV's Gina Pusateri was exhausted after that exchange, which was only the first 30 minutes of the 90-minute episode. "This was as complicated a beginning to a season that I've ever seen," she wrote.

The new twists impacted the game right up to the first elimination. After Gervase Peterson, who played last in Season 1, was a little too cocky following the veteran's win at the Immunity Challenge -- especially considering his own terrible performance -- it was his niece, Marissa, who suffered. Her tribe voted her out based on his antics. Now she joins Candice and Rupert in Redemption Island. Their first match-up is next week.

The confusing new season of "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" continues every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

Mumford & Sons Taking A Break For 'A Considerable Amount Of Time'

Mumford & Sons are winding down from a banner year, and now they're looking to take a much-deserved break. The London quartet, who wrapped their tour in Kansas on Friday night, told Rolling Stone "there won’t be any Mumford & Sons activities for the foreseeable future."

That remark comes from keyboardist Ben Lovett, who said they band has "no idea" when they'll resume.

"We just know we’re going to take a considerable amount of time off and just go back to hanging out and having no commitments or pressure or anything like that," Lovett told Rolling Stone. "It feels like the last week of school right now, before school holiday when you’re in high school."

After "Babel" nabbed the Grammy for Album of the Year in February, Mumford & Sons has been touring the world nonstop. In June, the band canceled three gigs while bassist Ted Dwane underwent emergency surgery for a blood clot.

Mick Jagger Is Going To Be A Great-Grandfather?!?!

Sir Mick Jagger, who is still prancing and dancing a half-century after he first took to the stage in 1962, is about to become a great-grandfather at the age of 70.

Various media outlets reported Saturday that the 21-year-old granddaughter of the Rolling Stones frontman, Assisi Jackson, is expecting a baby in 2014. Assisi has been dating her boyfriend, a chef named Alex, for more than a year.

Jagger has seven children aged between 14 and 42 by four different women, as well as two other grandchildren. Assisi's mother is Jade, the daughter of Mick and his first wife Bianca.

Obviously Jagger shows no sign of slowing down. In a ranking of concert tours in 2013, the Rolling Stones came out on top.

Just this summer, Jagger and the Rolling Stones were performing in Washington D.C. when the singer threw some shade in the direction of President Barack Obama, who was not in attendance. "I don't think President Obama is here, but I'm sure he's listening in," the rocker told the crowd, according to tweets from the show. The reference to the NSA's domestic surveillance program apparently resulted in some booing, though it's unclear if they were voicing discontent at Jagger's quip or the president himself.

Besides Jagger, other rockers also have seen their families expand in recent years. Rod Stewart, for example, welcomed his first grandchild in 2011.
