"Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" was released on Nov. 16, 2001, but the film was in development long before that date. Author J.K. Rowling published her first Harry Potter book in 1997, and sold the book's rights in 1999. Courtesy of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, here are five articles that track the "Harry Potter" development, from rumors to the big screen.

Steven Spielberg was one of the rumored directors up for "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," but the job wound up going to Chris Columbus ("Home Alone").

George Gray, come on down!

While walking backwards on a treadmill to introduce the next prize on the show, the "Price is Right" announcer lost his footing and went down ... hard. Pretty much everyone started cracking up over the unexpected tumble, including host Drew Carey who wanted to replay the footage before the commercial break.

A consummate professional, Gray continued reading the items' descriptions from the ground without missing a word. Though, it is a bummer to hear that aspirin is not included.

Liam Neeson's 'Taken 4' Parody Trailer Needs To Happen For Real

Liam Neeson's particular set of skills involves a lot more origami than previously thought.

On Wednesday, Jimmy Kimmel released a "Taken 4" parody trailer complete with the actual Neeson. The trailer finds the actor on the hunt for Guillermo's dog, which, of course, has been taken. Among the many highlights, we finally learn what Neeson's particular set of skills actually are, and they sound seriously hardcore. We're talking about juggling, horseback riding and three years of high school Spanish. (Really, who would want to mess with this guy?)

The actor has left the door open for an actual "Taken 4," even telling Fox "there’s always" a chance. After watching the parody, it's clear that this definitely needs to happen. Someone, please take something from this guy ASAP.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC.

Chris Pratt Takes Time Out Of Saving The Galaxy To Visit Children's Hospital

What's Chris Pratt doing when he isn't saving the galaxy?

Why, he's lifting spirits in a children's hospital, of course.

The "Parks and Recreation" star shared this photo on Facebook Thursday morning, in which he smiles with Emma, a young patient at the Children's Hospital of Orange County who's "just kicked cancer's butt!!!"

In August, Pratt also dropped in on the Los Angeles Children's Hospital, where he seems to have had a stellar time playing with Legos.

And before that, Pratt revealed he maybe, kinda-sorta stole his costume from "Guardians of The Galaxy" in the hopes that he could use it to make kids smile -- like Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who visits children's hospitals on a weekly basis.

"I stole the jacket and some of the wardrobe so that, if this movie comes out and does what everyone hopes it can, I can follow the example of someone -- say, like, a Russell Wilson, you know -- and go visit kids," he told Panzer TV.

9 Photos Of Disney Princesses Transformed Into Indian Brides

Belle and Snow White just got some awesome updates.

It's thanks in part to Amrit Grewal, a Vancouver-based wedding photographer, who told The Huffington Post that although Disney princess themes are popular for weddings in general, Indian brides generally stay away from them.

"Our aim was to show them that they have the options of incorporating these ideas too into their weddings," he explained. So Grewal and a few others embarked on a unique project: reimagining the characters in traditional Indian bridal wear.

The photo series was conceptualized and directed by Jasmine Nijjar, the marketing manager for Wellgroomed Designs, an Indian couture bridal salon in Vancouver.

Universal Decor Events created the sets, and Grewal shot the photos. They were originally published in South Asian Bride Magazine, and Grewal said the response has been tremendous.

"We were so incredibly happy that it was all positive," he said. "There was finally a look that Indian brides could aspire to that worked with their ethnicity and as a team, we were extremely proud to have been able to provide that joy to them."

Black Crowes Break Up After 24 Years

NEW YORK (AP) — The blues-rock band the Black Crowes are fading to black.

Founding member Rich Robinson announced Thursday the group is disbanding after 24 years. In a statement, he alluded to internal issues between his brother and the band.

"I love my brother and respect his talent but his present demand that I must give up my equal share of the band and that our drummer for 28 years and original partner, Steve Gorman, relinquish 100 percent of his share, reducing him to a salaried employee, is not something I could agree to," Robinson said in the statement.

Robinson, the band's guitarist and songwriter, founded the group with his brother and lead singer, Chris Robinson. An email seeking comment from Chris Robinson wasn't immediately returned. He also fronts the band Chris Robinson Brotherhood.

The Black Crowes released its debut album, "Shake Your Money Maker," in 1990. It went on to sell five million albums and featured the hits "She Talks to Angels" and "Hard to Handle." The band also had success with the follow-up albums "The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion" and "Amorica," but started to fade in the late 90s.

Besides the Robinsons and Gorman, the Black Crowes included bassist Sven Pipien, keyboardist Adam MacDougall and guitarist Jackie Greene.

"I hold my time with the Black Crowes with the utmost respect and sincerest appreciation. It is a huge swath of my life's body of work," Rich Robinson said in the statement. "I couldn't be more proud of what we accomplished and deeply moved by the relationships people created and maintained with my music. That alone is the greatest honor of being a musician."

The Black Crowes' last studio album was 2008's "Warpaint."

Once she caught her breath, she resumed her journey to the Pancake House only to discover that it was closed.

George R. R. Martin Shoots Down A Huge 'Game Of Thrones' Fan Theory

This piece contains spoilers about "Game of Thrones."

Complete shock is coming.

People of the realm, prepare yourselves, because an incredibly popular "Game of Thrones" fan theory was shot down by author George R. R. Martin. If you're a fan of that one big theory, you can relax. Those who believe they know the fate of Benjen Stark aren't so lucky, though.

Many fans of Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series have believed that Coldhands, a mysterious character who Bran Stark meets beyond the Wall, was actually Bran's long-lost uncle, Benjen Stark. Well, now you can forget that.

Vulture reports that a Reddit user, _honeybird, read the original manuscript of A Dance With Dragons at Texas A&M's Cushing Library and discovered some handwritten notes from George R.R. Martin to Anne Groell, his editor. In one note, Groell straight up asked if Coldhands was Benjen, and Martin wrote a pretty definitive, "No."

Coldhands hasn't been introduced in the HBO show yet, but in the books he's thought to have once been a man of the Night's Watch and plays a pivotal role in Bran's journey North. All of this seemed to be evidence of the popular theory, but it appears that's not the case.

Though Martin has reportedly put an end to this theory and previously told HuffPost Entertainment about another theory that wasn't true, the author has confirmed that some fan theories out there are correct.

So just keep believing, "R + L = J" supporters!

Supercut Shows The Insane Volume Of Stupid Questions Women Get On The Red Carpet

$

With awards season in full swing, it's an appropriate time to discuss the inane sexism that seems to be directed at every woman who steps on to a red carpet.

A new video created by Upworthy focuses on the often ridiculous questions women are forced to answer at red carpet events. These questions range from the superficial "Tell me about your dress," and "Who are you wearing?" to the downright idiotic, "Were you able to wear undergarments?"

All too often the questions these accomplished actresses receive are less about their work, and more about what they're wearing or how they stay thin. While men are also sometimes asked about their outfits, more often their interviews focus on their achievements as actors. The difference is even more pronounced when the tables are turned.

So, as women (and men) on Twitter have been pleading, let's all #AskHerMore. And enough with the up-and-down body scans already.

Amanda Peet Talks 'Something's Gotta Give,' Diane Keaton's 'Great Body'

Amanda Peet doesn't understand why Diane Keaton doesn't do more nude scenes.

The 69-year-old actress notably bared all in the 2003 film "Something's Gotta Give," starring both Peet and Jack Nicholson.

In a conversation with HuffPost Live on Thursday, Peet, who stars in HBO's new series "Togetherness," admitted that while the nude scene had to be "difficult" for the then-57-year-old star, she thinks Keaton "has a great body."

"If I were Diane Keaton, I'd take my clothes off all the time!" Peet said.

Speaking about her time playing an on-screen love interest for Jack Nicholson, whom Peet also had to disrobe in front of -- albeit only a bikini -- the 43-year-old confessed to having been "terrified."

Nicholson was daunting, "not in a 'Shining' way," she explained, "but in a just, 'You're an icon and you're standing right here and I'm looking up at you [kind of way].' It's that thing where there was a whole scroll going on in my brain the entire time: 'Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit. Don't fuck up, don't fuck up, don't fuck up.'"

Bobby Brown Says He And Whitney Houston 'Cheated On Each Other'

Bobby Brown is getting candid about his headline-grabbing marriage to Whitney Houston.

In an interview set to air Saturday after Lifetime's biopic "Whitney," the R&B singer discusses the low points in his marriage to the late superstar, including the cheating rumors.

"There was infidelity in the marriage, yes, on both parts," Brown admitted to "Access Hollywood" anchor Shaun Robinson. "Both of us cheated on each other -- period. So that's hard to swallow for both of us. I just think when two people that love each other as much as we loved each other, when they start drifting apart, different people come into the situation, into the scenario, and we make mistakes."

"We're human," the 45-year-old singer, who has one daughter with Houston, added.

Brown and Houston's turbulent 15-year marriage -- dogged by allegations of domestic abuse and drug use -- ended in divorce in 2007. Five years later, Houston died at the age of 48.

The focus of Lifetime's new biopic is the early years of the couple's romance, beginning with them meeting at the 1989 Soul Train Awards. First-time director Angela Bassett told the New York Post earlier this month that she ultimately sees the pair's relationship as a "love story," albeit a complicated one.

“We all know how it ends,” Bassett said. “And we all make mistakes. Most of us get to make them in private. Whitney and Bobby had to make them in public.”

12 Award-Worthy Baby Names Inspired By The Golden Globes

$

It’s great to win an award, but it’s also, as the saying goes, nice to be nominated. And last Sunday’s Golden Globes presented a slate of interesting names, from both winners and also-rans. So while others are still parsing the performances, fashion, gags and gaffes, we’re presenting the Nameberry Awards for what we consider the 12 best names from the Golden Globes -- all winners to us. (And now that the Oscar noms have been announced, there will be even more grist for our mill.)

Alejandro

alejandro gonzalez inarritu birdman

A winner and a loser, Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu won for his "Birdman" screenplay but lost out to "Boyhood’s" Richard Linklater for best motion picture director. Alejandro is one of several romantic Latin forms of Alexander; we also love Alessandro and Alessio.

Atticus

atticus ross

Atticus Ross was nominated for best original score in a motion picture for his collaboration with Trent Reznor on "Gone Girl." The first name of the upright, highly principled character in To Kill a Mockingbird is now the third most popular name on Nameberry, and just waiting for the rest of the world to catch up.

Benedict

imitation game

Benedict Cumberbatch was nominated as best actor for his depiction of code breaker Alan Turing in "The Imitation Game," but he was beaten by Eddie Redmayne as Stephen Hawking in "The Theory of Everything." Cumberbatch has single handedly elevated the Shakespearean name Benedict to an increasingly popular alternative to the classic Benjamin.

Clive

clive owen

Clive Owen was nominated as best TV actor for his role in the series "The Knick," but the winner in the category was Kevin Spacey. Like Cumberbatch, hunky Clive Owen has reversed the image of his name -- which hasn’t been on the US list since 1935 -- and made his clipped British-y moniker feel more viable.

Dominic

dominic west

Although his partner in "The Affair," Ruth Wilson, was a winner, Dominic West was another of the best TV actor nominees to lose to Kevin Spacey. Dominic has always had a split personality in the US, used primarily in the Italian community, but it has broadened its base and is now Number 68.

Felicity

felicity jones

The talented Felicity Jones was nominated as best motion picture actress for her co-starring role in "The Theory of Everything," losing to Julianne Moore for her bravura performance in "Still Alice." The delicate virtue name Felicity peaked in 1999 via the eponymous TV show, but still makes a felicitous choice.

Gillian

gillian flynn

Gillian Flynn authored the massively bestselling book Gone Girl, then wrote the movie screenplay for which she won a Golden Globe nomination, but the award went to the writers of "Birdman." Gillian, pronounced with either a hard or soft ‘G’, has long been a British staple, but is just beginning to gather some steam here; it’s Number 515 on Nameberry.

Joaquin

joaquin phoenix

Joaquin (formerly known as Rain) Phoenix was nominated as best actor in a comedy or musical motion picture for "Inherent Vice," the award won by Michael Keaton for "Birdman." A Spanish version of the biblical Joachim, Joaquin is a top name in South America and Number 340 in the US, 432 on Nameberry.

Liev

liev schreiber

In the best actor in a TV drama series category, another nominee was Liev Schreiber for "Ray Donovan"; the winner, again, was Kevin Spacey. Schreiber’s birth name was Isaac Liev, the second name said to be after his mother’s favorite Russian novelist, Leo Tolstoy.

Rosamund

rosamund pike

Rosamund Pike was nominated as best actress in a motion picture, drama, for her lead role in "Gone Girl"; she lost to Julianne Moore in "Still Alice." Rarely heard in the US for a century, this lovely British appellation, also spelled Rosamond, is beginning to be considered again, along with other more popular Rose offshoots.

Sia

sia furler

Sia Furler was one of three musicians who shared the nomination for best original song, for “Opportunity” from Annie. Australian musician Sia Kate Isobelle Furler hereby adds another potential member of the Mia-Gia-Kia-Lia-Pia-Ria-Tia family of names.

Uzo

uzo aduba

Uzo Aduba, full name Uzoamaka, was nominated as best supporting actress in a TV series for her role as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren in "Orange Is the New Black," an award that went to "Downton Abbey’s" Joanne Froggart. Born in Boston to Nigerian parents, Aduba’s first and middle name, Nwaneka, reflect her African heritage.

TMZ reports that Scott Disick left girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian alone with their month-old son and two other young children to go party with his friends in Aspen, Colorado last weekend.

After a night of partying, Disick and his friends returned to the hotel, caused some trouble and -- according to TMZ -- ordered $840 worth of alcohol, and the following night they racked up a $600 bill for booze. Artist Alec Monopoly posted a photo of Disick in Aspen on Jan. 9:

Disick's problems with substances and alcohol are no secret, and have been an ongoing issue in his relationship with Kardashian. His struggle with sobriety is well-documented on this season of "Kourtney & Khloe Take the Hamptons." In June of 2014, his partying finally came to a head when he ended up in the hospital after taking a bunch of pills. Disick later checked himself into rehab for a short period of time, and admitted to a friend, "I thought I was going to die."

5 Celebrities College Students Should Look Up to

$

Celebrities in Hollywood--such as actors, pop stars, and musicians--as well as other famous figures in the public eye--such as politicians, best-selling authors and entrepreneurs--can offer our world a lot in terms of entertainment, but don't always serve as the best role models.

With scandals happening on a weekly, and even daily basis surrounding the majority of these figures, it's hard to pinpoint those who have actually had a positive aeffect on society, who we as college students can look up to.

While yes, Kim Kardashian's Keeping Up With The Kardashians reality program is entertaining to a lot of people, when you think about what she actually brings to the table, and why/how she even became famous in the first place, you'll most likely draw a blank.

Here is a list of five celebrities that we as college students should look up to as role models.

1. Emma Watson

Widely recognized for her portrayal of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series, her work for women's rights should definitely not go unnoticed.

She is known for promoting the importance of education for girls, and was also appointed a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in July of 2014. The UN Women organization refers to the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women.

On September 20, 2014, Watson gave a speech on behalf of the UN Women at a special event for the HeForShe campaign, a campaign designed to promote the importance of the role of men in the gender equality movement that UN Women supports.

In her strong speech, Watson said, "Men--I would like to take this opportunity to extend your formal invitation. Gender equality is your issue too" and closed with the following words:

"We are struggling for a uniting word but the good news is we have a uniting movement. It is called HeForShe. I am inviting you to step forward, to be seen to speak up, to be the "he" for "she." And to ask yourself if not me, who? If not now, when?"

2. George Clooney

George Clooney is most known by us college students for his roles in films such as the Ocean's Eleven trilogy, The Descendants, and Up in the Air, but there is a lot more to Clooney than meets the eye.

Clooney is an avid supporter of gay rights; he is involved with the organization Not On Our Watch Project, which focuses on global attention and resources to prevent mass atrocities; he has advocated for change in Darfur, and was just recently honored for his legacy in film and humanitarianism at the 2015 Golden Globes Awards, where he took home a Lifetime Achievement Award.

3. Beyoncé

While the pop star is often ridiculed for being overly sexual and promiscuous, here are just some of the reasons she should be considered a role model for college-age students.

Beyoncé has contributed to the Ban Bossy campaign, which utilizes the power of television and social media to encourage leadership among girls, and also has publicly considered herself a feminist.

In her track "Flawless," off of her fifth studio album Beyoncé (2013), she included a sample of Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's speech from a TEDxEuston conference from the same year, including the following words:

"We raise girls to each other as competitors, not for jobs or for accomplishments, which I think can be a good thing, but for the attention of men. We teach girls that they cannot be sexual beings in the way that boys are. Feminist: the person who believes in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes."

4. Leonardo DiCaprio

The actor is well known for his roles in films such as Titanic, Inception, The Great Gatsby and The Wolf of Wall Street, but in addition to acting in film, DiCaprio has also advocated for environmentalism, and considers himself a committed environmentalist.

In 2010, his environmental work earned him a nomination for the VH1 Do Something Award, powered by the New York-based organization Do Something, which empowers and inspires activism in our nation's youth.

He donated $1 million to relief efforts in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake, and $1 million to the Wildlife Conservation Society in 2010, as well as donated to the 2008 campaign of President Barack Obama, a firm supporter of environmentalism.

5. Jennifer Lawrence

Aside from her role as Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games film series, Lawrence, by age 22, also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook, as well as a Golden Globe for her supporting role in American Hustle.

Lawrence is also known for speaking out and being a role model to younger girls in regards to body image, noticing how it has affected some of her younger audiences.

To this Viner's credit though, Fylie (Fake Kylie) From Target looks a lot like real Kylie. Plus, this girl is obviously taking some major style cues from the blue hair extensions to the flannel around her waist.

Either way, we're grateful for the hilarity that ensued from this awkward moment.
