'True Blood' Star Anna Paquin: There Are More Deaths To Come In Final Season

Brace yourselves, “True Blood” fans. According to actress Anna Paquin, your favorite characters on the show may not make it to the series finale.

Paquin sat down with HuffPost Live on Tuesday to dish on the HBO hit and explained that anything could happen before the show wraps at the end of August.

“[In] the first season or two, people who were big characters were dying. And then there was this sort of lull in the middle where if it was a big character, they were probably pretty safe,” she said. “And I feel like, storytelling-wise, that gets a little safe, and our show is not that.”

The game plan for the show's final season is that no one is safe, Paquin said.

“So this year, they literally have been like, ‘Everyone is fair game.’ And that is a very specific choice, and it keeps everyone on their toes,” she told host Alyona Minkovski.

But there is a reason for all the madness on the show, the “True Blood” star added.

“There’s an endgame that the audience isn’t necessarily aware of as far as, is that the last time we’re ever going to talk about that? Or did this happen because we’re setting up for something else?” she said.

No matter the endgame, one thing is for sure, Paquin said: "The body count obviously gets higher as we go through the season."

To find out the fate of your most-loved characters, tune in to watch the final season of "True Blood," which airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO.

Catey Shaw's 'Brooklyn Girls' Is Katy Perry's 'California Gurls' Gone Gritty

Move over, "California Gurls": Catey Shaw's "Brooklyn Girls" are here to take over.

Shaw's video, like Katy Perry's clip for her 2010 single, is a perfectly crafted pop confection. But the similarities stop there. Foregoing "daisy dukes" and "bikinis on top," Shaw opts instead to celebrate the strong, stylish women in her borough, highlighting their diversity and grit.

In an interview with The Huffington Post, Shaw described the beginning of her love affair with Brooklyn.

"I landed in Brooklyn a little over year ago and immediately noticed a difference in the residents, as well as a difference in myself," she said. "It's undoubtedly part of the New York City from the movies -- but has more of a neighborhood feel. If the city is four-on-the-floor, then Brooklyn is a syncopated kick drum. There's really just nothing like it."

catey shaw

After she moved, the inspiration for the song came naturally.

"Jay Levine and I wrote this soon after I arrived," she said. "Everything in my life was sort of coming together: my mental state, my personal life, and my sound as an artist. We really wanted to pinpoint what it was that made me -- and the world -- love Brooklyn. As soon as we finished this song, everything we had been working on for the prior year made sense."

But the million dollar question for Shaw is this: What makes a Brooklyn Girl?

"There is no concrete definition of the Brooklyn Girl, although there's a concrete jungle full of them," she said. "I'm a Brooklyn Girl because I am self-made, confident and individual. Any girl that lives in Brooklyn -- whether born and raised or from halfway across the world -- can't make it without that signature Brooklyn attitude. [Brooklyn Girls] are a force to be reckoned with -- and they dress to kill. They pave their own paths."

The song has special meaning for Shaw, too.

"'Brooklyn Girls' allows me to be my own role model -- my own #wcw," she said (with a nod to Woman Crush Wednesday). "I hope other women can take that same attitude from it."

If you love Catey's sound, her upcoming record, "The Brooklyn EP," will be out on Sept. 9. You can preorder the EP on iTunes, and get "Brooklyn Girls" and "Revolution" instantly.

Selena Gomez Has A New Tattoo That Reminds Her To Love Herself

In between telling off Instagram bullies, posting cryptic messages and taking "brave" bikini selfies, Selena Gomez found time to get a new tattoo.

New York tattoo artist Bang Bang McCurdy tells E! News he tattooed the 21-year-old singer/actress about a month ago with an Arabic phrase that translates to "Love Yourself First," on the right side of her back.

The new ink seems to be perfectly in line with Gomez's post-rehab attitude. Ever since leaving a six-week program after just 14 days of treatment at The Meadows recovery center in Wickenburg, Arizona, the former Disney star's Instagram account has been dominated with cryptic messages about self-improvement.

This is believed to be the fourth tattoo for Gomez, who also has the biblical verse, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," on her right hip, a music note on her wrist and the Roman numerals for 76 on the back of her neck (a tribute to the year her mother was born).

Wentworth Miller Opens Up About Coming Out, Depression Ahead Of His Big Screen Return

A year after coming out as a gay man, Wentworth Miller says he feels "more fully expressed" both personally and professionally.

The 42-year-old "Prison Break" star recalls the experience in an intimate new interview with Details magazine, saying he was "feeding a fantasy" in Hollywood before he opened up about his sexuality.

"After 'Prison Break,' I came to grips with the fact that my public persona was in misalignment with how I actually felt," he told David Hochman. "My face was on billboards, and I thought it was my job to act a certain way. But I think audiences knew to a certain degree."

Miller, who is slated to return to the big screen alongside James Marsden and Eric Stonestreet in the forthcoming thriller "The Loft," also spoke at length about his struggles with depression.

"I'm part of a group called the ManKind Project. It's a circle of men I sit in with every week that's a safe sounding board for whatever's up for me: good, bad, ugly, really ugly," he said. "We know how to respond to someone coming out now -- we've had that training -- but admit you're sad or that you've thought about suicide and people don't know what to do. With sadness, particularly with men, that conversation is unfamiliar."

Leonardo DiCaprio is the smartest celebrity on Twitter, according to a recent analysis released by Time Magazine.

The "Wolf of Wall Street" star's tweets rank at an average reading level of grade 7.5. Time speculates that, as an environmental activist, DiCaprio often tweets about ocean conservation and global warming, which most likely helped him earn the top spot.

For their study, Time used a popular reading comprehension test known as Simple Measure Of Gobbledygook (SMOG) and analyzed the reading levels of the tweets produced by the 500 most-followed celebrities on Twitter. The SMOG test measures the number of three-syllable words used in the text of a tweet to calculate the years of education required to understand it.

Here are the top 10 smartest celebrities on Twitter, according to Time. We've included unrelated sample tweets from each celebrity, because of course:

Leonardo DiCaprio

Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner Crash Kid's Superman-Themed Birthday Party, Because YES

In case you were not yet convinced that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were the best couple in Hollywood, the two made one child's day this past weekend when they stopped by his Superman-themed birthday party in Detroit.

In town, ironically, for Affleck to film the upcoming "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice," the couple stopped by Detroit Kid City in search of a play place for their 2-year-old son, Samuel. They found the facility in use for a private birthday event, but were invited to join and, in their typical being-amazing style, came in and stayed for a while.

"I spoke with Ben for 10 or 15 minutes and he was very pleased with the facility. He was very interested in getting a Detroit Kid City out in LA," Garrett Dixon of Detroit Kid City told the Detroit Free Press. "He said they had a blast and will definitely be in contact with us."

Filming of the "Superman" sequel comes in the wake of public backlash after Affleck was announced as the Caped Crusader. But even in the face of national criticism, the star always had one consistent supporter.

"I was excited for him," Garner told MTV News in September. "I was excited because he had a real take on what he wanted to do, and you know, I have to say, my husband is a pretty great storyteller himself."

'I Like Being a Freak': Keith Levy on Being Sherry Vine (VIDEO)

I'm From Driftwood is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit archive for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer stories. New stories are posted on the site every Wednesday.

What drives a person to perform in drag? Keith Levy, also known as a drag queen by the name of Sherry Vine (check out her YouTube channel here), is here to give us his life story as an answer. For Keith, a single song inspired him to change his life course from acting to drag. It all began with Ella Fitzgerald's "Black Coffee." Keith explains:

My entire life and vision was on this path of being a movie star. And then it was kind of just like, "Oh, there's this song, 'Black Coffee,' this torch song I've always wanted to sing." And I was like, "Well, I can't really do that as a guy! No one wants to see Keith up there singing this song." I was like, "Maybe I'm going to do it as this tattered ex-showgirl." And people really responded to it.

The transition from actor to drag queen was difficult for Keith and involved being honest with himself and his family about what kind of performer he truly wanted to be:

I was like, "No, I'm going to do this and I'm not going to be a professional drag queen. I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to do it." Why are you fighting this? Why are you not embracing this? I mean, do you really want to get up at 6 in the morning to stand in line all day to audition to be in the road show of some musical, or do you want to be the star of these shows? I was like, "I want to be the star of the show!"

Keith has performed as Sherry Vine for 22 years and has faced his share of hatred and discrimination, sometimes coming from the LGBTQ community itself. Doing drag can be a great form of comedic entertaining, but yes, it can sometimes be a drag. Keith explains:

[J]ust the fact that you're a man who puts on women's clothes, and when you walk out that door and you're bombarded, sometimes, with hate and anger, then it does become political. I mean, I've been chased down the street by a gang with bats. That was scary. I've had bottles thrown at me.

Keith identifies a huge moment in the life of a drag queen as "coming out" as a drag queen. For some queens this is their second "coming out":

People who perform in drag have an important voice to share, especially within the gay community, if you will. I mean, we all have to come out twice, because we come out once as gay, and then we come out again as drag. And people ... are like, "Oh, yeah, my parents had no problem with me being gay, but they hated-- they freaked out when they found out that I did drag."

Let's Get Angsty And Remember Ashlee Simpson's 'Autobiography'

$

July 20 marks the 10 year anniversary of Ashlee Simpson's debut album "Autobiography." Let that sink in. It means a full decade has passed since the "Saturday Night Live" lip-sync debacle, and also since you probably holed up in your room listening to "Shadow," "Pieces of Me," "La La" or any one of the album's 12 angst-ridden tracks.

Over at Myspace (yes, there is something still going on over there, just don't ask us what) the album’s producer and primary songwriter, John Shanks, recalls the making of the album, and if you are a Simpson fan it's worth a read.

Here, let's look back at Simpson in 2004. She was somewhat of an anomaly for a pop star. Like Avril Lavigne, Simpson was marketed as the anti-Britney, or specifically the anti-Jessica -- her older, blonder sister -- in whose "shadow" Ashlee lived in for years.

To be real, Simpson's career was born out of pure nepotism. Not to say she wasn't talented, but it's likely her pop career would never have happened without her sister. But as we all know, it's who you know that really matters.

After the "SNL" incident in October 2004, Simpson lost any hope of being taken seriously -- even on that minute level people take pop stars seriously -- but it didn't stop her from releasing two more albums and giving the world a song about how she didn't steal Wilmer Valderrama from Lindsay Lohan (even if she denied that was the track's intentions, we're not buying it).

Regardless of how she found her footing in Hollywood, let's all just take a moment to appreciate the full-on angst she and Shanks gave the world with a few of these super deep lyrics. We won't blame you if you have the urge to put "La La" on full blast.

"I walked a thousand miles while everyone was asleep/Nobody's really seen my million subtleties" - "Autobiography"

"I am moody, messy/I get restless, and it's senseless/How you never seem to care." - "Pieces of Me"

"I was stuck inside someone else's life and always second best." - "Shadow"

"You make me wanna la la, la la la, la la, la la la la la la la la la" - "La La"

"I've been waiting all my life/To finally find you/ Just so I can push you away/ And when you're crawling over broken glass to get to me/ That's when I'll let you stay. " - "Love Me For Me"

"This life's like livin' in the gutter/All this pain just makes you feel dead." - "Giving It All Away"

As plans for the Whitney Houston biopic continue to develop, fans have already gotten exciting updates about what the film will have to offer. And now, there's even more!

On the heels of a photo released last week that gave a first look at Yaya DaCosta done up as the late-singer, comes news that singer Deborah Cox is set to lay down the vocals.

The film, which will focus on the renowned singer's relationship with her ex-husband Bobby Brown, will be directed by Angela Bassett and is set to premiere in 2015. Houston's family has had no involvement in the making of the movie, and her daughter Bobbi Kristina's has openly criticized the production.

Michael Urie Says Coming Out Is Still Something Actors 'Have To Think About' In Hollywood

Michael Urie looked back on his early experiences as a gay actor in Hollywood in a new interview with Frontiers.

The 33-year-old actor, who is currently starring in the Los Angeles production of "Buyer & Cellar," told the publication that "things were very different" when he began his seminal stint on "Ugly Betty" in 2006.

"I was encouraged to stay in the closet," he recalled. "This was before Neil Patrick Harris had come out. Even though I was playing an openly gay character, we thought we might want to keep the mystery of what I do behind closed doors."

Urie, who has since turned in acclaimed performances in "The Temperamentals" as well as "Angels in America" and "How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" on Broadway, said that coming out "has only aided my career."

"It might not be good for everyone, but I have gotten to play so many wonderful roles," he said. "If I at any point decide not to play gay characters anymore, I would work a lot less. To me, it’s way better to have jobs and get great parts."

Still, he added: "Unfortunately, I think coming out is still something actors known for certain kinds of roles have to think about. Audiences sometimes have a better sense of suspension of disbelief than people making the casting decisions do, though I can’t blame them for not taking big risks."

Urie offered similar sentiments in a 2011 interview with HuffPost Gay Voices.

"Every time another high-profile person comes out, it becomes less and less of a burden for actors," he said at the time," he said. "Sometimes I play gay characters, sometimes I play straight characters...I just think of myself as playing awesome characters."

The Music Industry Doesn't Want You To Hear These Songs Because They Aren't 'Radio-Friendly'

"But face it, if you wanna make it onto radio kid, you gotta do as I say. Change all the hims into hers, and just don't tell the world that you're [gay]."

When London-based singer and songwriter Matt Fishel was starting out, he received a lot of cringingly well-intentioned advice. Everyone wanted to mentor him, everyone wanted work with him -- but with one pretty big caveat.

Fishel had to stop writing songs about men. Although he was already out, the industry wanted to push him back in. (Apparently being gay wasn't "radio-friendly.")

The singer refused and went on to launch his own label, Young Lust Records, so that he would have freedom over the projects -- and the people -- he pursued. In 2013, he wrote "Radio-Friendly Pop Song," to document his experience with the industry. It's ridiculously catchy.

"I've always responded to music that's truthful," he said, explaining his decision to go his own way to gay news site Pink News. "The songs I write about are all about relationships and experiences that I’ve had. I’ve never been willing to deliberately not write about that or change it to combat what major labels call ‘limiting your mass appeal.'"

Four years on from launching Young Lust Records, Fishel's appeal seems anything but limited. He just released his newest single, "Finally," a cover of the 1992 hit by CeCe Peniston about finally meeting Mr. Right.

As for us, we're supremely happy that Fishel is standing up and singing his heart out -- with one caveat. We don't know how we're ever going to get his songs out of our heads.

All Men Must Rave At Hodor's 'Game Of Thrones' DJ Tour

Get ready to party like winter is coming.

Hodor, aka actor Kristian Nairn, is set to embark on his greatest journey since traveling beyond the Wall when he kicks off his "Game of Thrones"-inspired DJ tour, "Rave of Thrones," reports The Guardian.

During Nairn's six-stop tour through Australia, venues will be "transformed into the finest halls of Westeros" as guests wear their best "GoT" attire or possibly risk facing the King's Justice. Partiers can expect surprise guests, stunning "GoT" visuals and "the deepest house [music] from all seven kingdoms," according to the tour promotion website.

Nairn has been a DJ in Belfast's music scene for more than a decade, and much like Hodor carries Bran on his back and beats up wights, he's set to carry "party vibes long into the night" and definitely beat that beat up.

The tour gets rolling at the end of August, but if you go just remember: When you play the "Rave of Thrones," you turn up or you ... never mind, that's the only option.

'Gone Girl' Is About To Find Company In 'The Social Network' And 'Pulp Fiction'

The New York Film Festival is one of many possible stops along the road to the Oscar stage, and with the announcement that David Fincher's "Gone Girl" is this year's opening-night selection, it seems the thriller is readying a strong awards push. Over the past 20 years, 13 movies that opened the festival went on to bask in Oscar glory, while only seven garnered at least $50 million at the box office. We're not too worried about "Gone Girl" finding its place among those honors: In 2011, Fincher's "Social Network" went on to become a Best Picture frontrunner after grossing nearly $100 million on domestic shores.

Whether "Gone Girl" will hold up when awards season rolls around is yet to be seen, but the adaptation of Gillian Flynn's best-seller is a guaranteed cash cow for 20th Century Fox. What stature will it find among the past two decades of New York Film Festival opening nights, which have become notable showcases for all-star directors' new projects? Fifth Harmony Shows Maturity With "Bo$$"

$

Only two years ago, Simon Cowell placed five young female singers into a group during the U.S. version of The X Factor. It was something that had worked before. One Direction went through the same process in the U.K. version of the show. Ally, Camila, Dinah Jane, Lauren and Normani would become Fifth Harmony. Although they failed to win the competition, their fans did not give up on them. In less than a year, they would go on to headline a mall tour across the country.

The first single from their EP, "Miss Movin' On," became a hit. "Miss Movin' On" debuted at spot No. 85 on the Billboard Hot 100, a rare feat for such a brand new group. To their surprise, even "The X Factor" judge Demi Lovato took notice. So much so, in fact, that she gave them a spot to open up for her widely successful Neon Lights Tour. After months of touring and gaining exposure, Fifth Harmony has finally released the single "Bo$$" from their first full-length album. From the cover art to the lyrics to the hip-hop influenced rhythm of this brand new single, the ladies of Fifth Harmony are proving that they are a group to watch.

"Bo$$" screams female empowerment. The artwork for the cover alone makes it clear that Fifth Harmony is ready to be taken seriously as a group. Pictured in all white, figure-hugging outfits, the girls exude the confidence that is evident in the song. In the opening verse of the single, the girls insist that they "want a Kanye not a Ray J." Later on, the hook declares their love for a very powerful female: First Lady Michelle Obama. Any lingering doubts about whether this is the next girl power anthem? After they spell out confident, the girls pledge allegiance to independent women everywhere. Meanwhile, it is hard not to start moving. A strong beat carries the melody throughout the duration of the song. "Bo$$" proves that the members of Fifth Harmony are not the same girls they were two years ago. Furthermore, they are ready to share their growth with the world.

Only one question remains: What is next for Fifth Harmony? If this single is any hint of what the new album has in store, Fifth Harmony will undoubtedly have a successful year. As they grow up in the spotlight, their music will too. It is better for them to reflect their growth in their music than continue to make similar tracks. "Bo$$" is a step in the right direction.

Neil Patrick Harris can now add "beer spokesman" to his ever-growing list of accomplishments.

The 41-year-old Tony and Emmy Award winner is the star of a new campaign for the reformulated Heineken Light, which nabbed the "Best Tasting Low Calorie Lager" title at the 2013 World Beer Championships.

Company officials tell HuffPost Gay Voices in a press release that the reformulated Heineken Light recipe features the addition of cascade hops (commonly used in IPAs to create a fuller flavor) but is still only 99 calories per serving.

They are counting on Harris to "find clever and humorous ways" to bring the Heineken Light taste experience to life for television audiences.

Neil Patrick Harris Is Very Happy With The First Cut Of 'Gone Girl'

The big-screen adaptation of "Gone Girl" is one of the most anticipated films of the fall, and while most of us will have to wait until Oct. 3 to see it, star Neil Patrick Harris has already gotten the first look.

During a conversation with HuffPost Live's Ricky Camilleri about his work with the student art competition The Art Of The Pixel, Harris said "Gone Girl" director David Fincher gave him a late-night screening of a rough cut of the film after a recent performance of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch." The movie hadn't been color-corrected and had temporary music, but it was enough for Harris to give it his stamp of approval.

"I really, really loved it," he said of the 11:30 p.m. screening. "I loved the book, and I thought since ['Gone Girl' author Gillian Flynn] did the screenplay as well, it's in most ways true to the book -- mostly in its kind of unsettling nature. You leave feeling just kind of rocked by what 'relationship' can mean."

Julia Ormond Discusses Brad Pitt's 'Legends Of The Fall' Days (Yup, We're Talking Tristan)

Let's reminisce for a second, shall we?

Actress Julia Ormond chatted with HuffPost Live host Ricky Camilleri on Thursday, July 17, about her role in the 1995 classic, "Legends of the Fall" -- you know, that film she co-starred in with a blossoming Brad Pitt, the esteemed Anthony Hopkins and "E.T." star Henry Thomas. (Oh, Aidan Quinn was in it too).

In the movie, Ormond played Susannah Fincannon, a young woman who comes to Col. William Ludlow's (Hopkins) remote house in Montana in the early 1900s, engaged to his youngest son Samuel (Thomas). After the war makes things more difficult though, Susannah ends up falling for Samuel's brother Tristan (Pitt) while his other brother Alfred (Quinn) falls for her. Talk about a love trapezoid!

As for working with Pitt on the film, Ormond, now 49, said that although it was apparent producers wanted him to be the next big Hollywood heartthrob, he was resistant.

"Brad is a really good actor, he's very intuitive," she said. "He always kind of reminded me on set of like a racehorse that won't run -- he stays in the box when the box is open ... If it doesn't feel right to him [he won't do it]."

"He was fascinating to me how, at heart, he's a character actor, who's very resistant to that [shirtless] stuff, but at the same time, got that that's what they wanted from him or that that was what was required," Ormond continued. "But for me, he was steeped in the work of delivering the character of Tristan and that other stuff was kind of like flies buzzing around him -- in terms of slightly irritating. He's also got enough smarts to know what he is and be very comfortable in that skin."

Of course nowadays, Pitt is one of the most sought-after actors in the business and is engaged to another A-lister, Angelina Jolie. And yes, he ended up becoming that heartthrob everyone thought he'd be ... and more.
