Emma Stone Admits To Googling Herself, Gets A Kick Out Of Being Called 'Bland Basic Bitch'

Emma Stone's much-deserved Vogue cover is here, and the red haired "Spider-Man" star is as charming and affable as you'd expect.

For the magazine's May issue, Stone took Jason Gay to Build-a-Bear and to get hot dogs at the mall. It's a far cry from your typical Hollywood A-list behavior, especially when juxtaposed with the 25-year-old's breathtaking, high-end fashion shots. But Stone is anything but an ordinary celebrity, and Vogue is keen on driving that point home.

"Stone's not being falsely modest," Gay wrote. "She is the rare person in public life who will straight up tell you that yes, she has Googled herself. 'I don't usually like what I find,' she says. 'But some of it is really funny.' Stone mentions Internet comments that referred to her as a 'Bland Basic Bitch,' which was probably meant as a dig, but she found it hilarious, to the point that at dinner she now begins to refer to herself as 'That Bland Basic Bitch.'"

Stone also discussed her boyfriend of almost three years, Andrew Garfield, Mr. Spider-Man himself. And by "discussed," we mean mentioned, because the two of them are adamant about keeping their relationship as private as possible.

"I think I've learned a lot by being around him," she told Vogue of collaborating with Garfield on the superhero franchise. "And, you know, he is an incredibly important person to me." She then adds that working with him "[is] fun. It's been fun working with him just because of who he is as an actor and person. I think it would be fun no matter what."

Meryl Streep Knows How To Give Great Body Image Advice

Could Meryl Streep be any more perfect?

After accepting an honorary doctoral degree from Indiana University last week, Streep sat down with professor Barbara Klinger to answer questions submitted via Twitter. And her advice to aspiring performers was amazingly applicable to all women:
For young women, I would say, don’t worry so much about your weight. Girls spend way too much time thinking about that, and there are better things. For young men, and women, too, what makes you different or weird, that’s your strength. Everyone tries to look a cookie-cutter kind of way, and actually the people who look different are the ones who get picked up. I used to hate my nose. Now, I don’t.

For a woman who inhabits so many different roles to feel so comfortable in her own skin is seriously inspirational.

Check out more of what she had to say at Indianapolis Monthly.

Watch 'Community' Mock NBC With Hilarious Ending Credits

"Community" is definitely not afraid to speak up in class.

NBC is still up in the air about Season 6 for "Community," but the show doesn't seem to be worried. Rather than groveling to get picked up for one more year like any sane program would do, "Community" basically dares NBC to cancel it by providing a list of possible replacements during the credits of its Season 5 finale -- suggestions they feel would keep in line with the network's idea of comedy.

The replacements include options such as "Intensive Karen," which is apparently about a sassy, wheelchair-bound doctor who has use of her legs; "Captain Cook," a show that seems to be about pirates doing shot skis with cupcakes; and "Celebrity Beat Off," a program featuring Questlove of The Roots doing something with music (hopefully).

Victoria Justice Hits Coachella In Hot Pink Top And Short Shorts

Victoria Justice was just one of dozens of celebrities to attend the second and final weekend of Coachella 2014, and it's safe to say she's got the festival look down to a science.

The 21-year-old former Nickelodeon star spent Sunday, April 20, at the music festival in Indio, Calif., wearing a hot pink crochet crop top and white shorts. And since it's practically blasphemous to attend Coachella without flowers in your hair, Justice made sure to wear a crown of white ones.

After spending all day in the desert heat, Justice cooled off by changing into a crocheted black monokini, and shared a photo of her poolside moment on Instagram. "Pool time at Coachella! Love that the #galaxys5 is water resistant. So cool. #thenexrbigthing," she wrote.

Did Selena Gomez Unfollow The Jenners On Instagram?

Oh, how the tides can turn between Coachellas.

Last weekend at Coachella, Selena Gomez, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner seemed like the best of friends, eating burgers and frolicking in their hippie garb. By this weekend, however, the singer apparently cut the reality stars from her life Instagram.

Gomez supposedly unfollowed the Jenners on Instagram for reasons unbeknownst to the rest of the world. The former Disney star is currently following 15 accounts, none belonging to Kendall or Kylie.

While it's unclear if Gomez ever followed either of the Jenners, she did previously post photos with the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" sisters from Christian "King" Combs' Sweet 16 and their Coachella escapades. Those photos have since been deleted, but Gomez's account remains active.

The trio certainly seemed chummy just 10 days ago, but their paths diverted. While the Jenners headed to Indio, Calif., for the second and final weekend of the music festival, Gomez was watching pastor Judah Smith on Easter Sunday.

Reps for Gomez and the Jenners were not immediately available for further comment.

Check out the trio in happier times:

Emma Stone Is Dying To Be On HBO's 'True Detective'

We all know Emma Stone as America's favorite funny girl but that might be changing soon.

The actress, famous for her roles in comedies like "Superbad" and "Easy A" has something a bit darker in mind for her next project. "That would be amazing," Stone told Vogue when asked if she'd be up for a role in the second season of HBO's "True Detective." The first season of popular crime drama featured Matthew McConaughey and Stone's former co-star Woody Harrelson as detectives in Louisiana on the trail of a serial killer.

It might be hard to picture Stone on the thrilling, gritty show -- it's less raunchy comedy and witty dialogue, and more climatic gunfights and satanic cult action -- but that didn't stop her from revealing who she'd like to share the small screen with when Season 2 airs.

"I would do True Detective with Kristen Wiig in a heartbeat," Stone said.

Beyonce's Easter Is Both Fierce And Festive

Beyonce managed to make her Easter both fierce and festive this year.

The superstar headed to some tropical locale to celebrate the holiday with Blue Ivy and Jay Z and posted photos to her Tumblr from the weekend. In a handful of pics, Beyonce can be seen wearing bunny ears along with a matching white top and shorts and retro gold sunglasses.

In other photos, Blue dons the ears while kissing her mama and standing beside an Easter Bunny. Jay was spotted alongside his daughter in one particularly adorable shot.

Julia Roberts Opens Up About Her Half-Sister's Death

0

Julia Roberts looks radiant on the cover of WSJ Magazine, but her smile doesn't mask the fact that it's been a rough few months for the actress.

Roberts' half-sister, Nancy Motes, died of a drug overdose in February, and allegedly left a suicide note that reportedly made reference to a rift within her family.

"It's just heartbreak," Roberts said when asked about Motes' death. "It's only been 20 days. There aren't words to explain what any of us have been through in these last 20 days. It's hour by hour some days, but you just keep looking ahead."

As her eyes began to well up, she added, "You don't want anything bad to happen to anyone, but there are so many tragic, painful, inexplicable things in the world. But [as with] any situation of challenge and despair, we must find a way, as a family. It's so hard to formulate a sentence about it outside the weepy huddle of my family."

The 46-year-old, who stars in the upcoming HBO movie "The Normal Heart," also spoke to the magazine about the downside of stardom.

"I think there is a dehumanization that goes with fame, especially in the present culture of it, which isn't the culture I started off in. There wasn't this analysis of every iota of every moment of every day," she explained of the days before the 24-hour news cycle and TMZ's cameramen at seemingly every turn. "Nobody cared about what you wore, nobody cared what haircut you had, if you had on makeup or didn't -- it's become this sort of sport."

And that type of attention doesn't suit Roberts. Despite how famous she may be, she doesn't think she's a celebrity.

"I don't consider myself a celebrity, [at least not] how it is fostered in our culture today," she told the magazine. "I don't know if I'm old and slow, but there seems to be a frenzy to it."

The 'Will & Grace' Cast Is On Board For A Reunion

It has been reported that a special "Will & Grace" reunion is in the works with NBC.

Rumors of a possible reunion have swirled for a while, with various stars hinting at their interest, but this is the first we've heard of all the stars being on board.

According to The Wow Report, the four major cast members of the show, Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes are ready to reunite with original producers and director James L. Burrows to film the reunion special.

The special will reportedly happen on the same sound stage at CBS where the show was filmed. Dates and details have not yet been released.

'Midnight Rider' Production Sparks Boycott Campaign In Honor Of Sarah Jones' Death

0

Weeks before the Gregg Allman biopic "Midnight Rider" is set to resume production following the on-set death of 27-year-old camera assistant Sarah Jones, a Facebook page is asking for the movie's crew to boycott the project.

Created by camera operator David Allen Grove, whose credits include "Brick" and "Desperate Housewives," the "I REFUSE to work on Midnight Rider! For Sarah!!!" Facebook group has accrued more than 9,000 members since its creation last week. "Let's continue to stand up for Sarah and for Sarah's parents by REFUSING to work on this show," the description of the page reads. "Lets shut them down!"

Some of the group's members have said they'd vouch for the continued production if the movie replaces director Randall Miller and the film's producers. "REFUSE to work for these producers on Midnight Rider or ANY OTHER FILM THEY EVER TRY TO MAKE. Randall Miller and Jody Savin are in their 50s; they are not novices; they knew what they were doing. Losing their careers at this stage in their lives will hurt more than spending a few months in the slammer," wrote Annette Haywood-Carter, who's served as the script supervisor on such films as "Casper" and "Die Hard 2."

As the Facebook group nears 10,000 members, Deadline.com reports that, on the weekend before Jones' death, "Midnight Rider" producer Jody Savin touted the methods of Unclaimed Freight -- the production company she co-owns with Miller, her husband -- at a meeting that took place in Savannah, Ga., where the movie is being filmed. In the same breath, she criticized the Savannah film commission for its heavy oversight of last year's "CBGB," which filmed in Savannah based on a script Savin wrote. "We make movies by our own rules," Savin reportedly said.

“A lot of people felt insulted by the whole thing," one attendee reportedly told Deadline.com. "It was very negative toward a lot of people who work in this town. Savin seemed proud of the fact that she was able to get crew cheaply. It was more about the bottom line. A lot of women wanted to work on it, but I think after meeting a lot walked away and thought. ‘I wouldn’t work on that show.’"

As of now, "Midnight Rider" will resume production in June, according to the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. Pre-production kicks off in a couple of weeks. William Hurt is still on board to star as Allman.

Thomas Haden Church Jokes That He Was A 'Suicidal Has-Been' Before 'Sideways'

Thomas Haden Church was an unlikely Oscar nominee in 2005 for his performance in Alexander Payne's "Sideways." Just ask Thomas Haden Church.

"It came along, thank God, when it did, because I was a suicidal TV has-been at that point. Which is why I got the role, because the guy was a suicidal TV has-been," Church joked during an interview with HuffPost Live host Josh Zepps to promote "Lucky Them," a new comedy that screened at this year's Tribeca Film Festival. "It was a major pivot point [for me]. I wouldn't be sitting here today if it weren't for 'Sideways.'"

In "Lucky Them," directed by Megan Griffiths, Church plays a documentarian who follows a rock journalist (Toni Collette) as she tries to track down a famous, reclusive musician. Watch Church and Collette discuss the film here.

"Lucky Them" is now screening at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Katy Perry Makes Controversial Joke In 'Birthday' Promo

Katy Perry is a chameleon in the trailer for her music video (how is this a thing?). She plays the "world's worst birthday party entertainers," which include an old woman with a revealing neckline, a Jewish bar mitzvah emcee, a despondent clown, a creepy animal trainer and a princess with a Valley girl accent.

There's a not-so-funny joke about rabbis and circumcision, and some off-color stereotyping in here, Salon points out. Perhaps "Birthday" can still take the coveted "song of the summer" title, as Vulture wrote, but maybe it's time for Perry to quit the whole pissing-people-off-with-cultural-costumes thing.

Perry has yet to release the actual music video for her single "Birthday," but has already debuted a lyric video and this bizarre trailer. Where, we must ask, is the actual video? And can it please be free of "Yosef Shulem"? (The creepy animal trainer can take a walk too.)

This New Photo Of Zoe Saldana In 'Rosemary's Baby' Is Guaranteed To Give You The Creeps

Something weird is happening here.

At least, that's the look Zoe Saldana is wearing in this exclusive new photo from her upcoming horror remake of "Rosemary's Baby".

rosemarys baby

Saldana sports a long trench coat that may or may not be hiding the fact she's now hosting the spawn of Satan in the latest look from NBC's take on on the famous novel by Ira Levin.

The four hour mini-series debuts in May with Saldana playing Rosemary, whose perfect life is made seemingly more perfect when her husband -- "Suits" star Patrick J. Adams -- suddenly strikes it rich and she becomes pregnant. Living the good life in Paris doesn't last long however when strange things start happening during Rosemary's pregnancy, leading her to believe her friendly new neighbors might have some satanic plans for her unborn child.

"Rosemary's Baby" premieres Sunday, May 11 at 9 p.m. EDT on NBC.

Stephen Colbert Congratulates The Clinton Family On Their Shrewd Political Move/Grandchild

On Monday, Stephen Colbert weighed in on the latest Clinton scandal: the announcement that daughter Chelsea is pregnant with her first child GOP conspiracy.

In response to a Fox News correspondent's assertion that some people think the pregnancy was "planned," Colbert couldn't help but agree: "Only the most devious people would ever plan a pregnancy."

In part one above, Colbert congratulates the Clinton's on their shrewd move, and below, he blows the lid off of ShoeGate™, connecting the dots from Hillary Clinton's failed primary run to the announcement that she will soon be a grandmother.

Clearly, Rush was right... that shoe was all about Benghazi.

Laura Prepon Addresses Those Tom Cruise Dating Rumors

No, Tom Cruise and Laura Prepon are not Scientology's latest "it" couple.

"It's just so funny that, when people don't know, they just make stuff up ... apparently I'm dating Tom Cruise right now," Prepon said during an interview with SheKnows.com. "And apparently he doesn't want me doing the show because I portray a lesbian and I'm a Scientologist. This is false; where are they even getting this stuff? It's unbelievable to me."

The New York Post's Page Six previously reported Cruise and Prepon have been secretly dating for some time.

"It's the buzz on the set of her show," a source told Page Six of the two famous Scientologists, who were spotted having a cozy dinner at the Manor Hotel in Los Angeles in November.

A rep for the actor told the Daily Mail that Cruise, 51, and Prepon, 34, have never even met.

Prepon has not only had to deal with rampant speculation about her private life, but also about her faith. The "Orange Is the New Black" star chalks up rumors about Scientology to sheer misconception.

"The thing that sucks is that there's so much false data because people are in mystery as to what Scientology is, so they just kind of make up stuff," Prepon told SheKnows. "It's kind of unfortunate because then I have to be like, 'No, that's actually not what's happening.'"

Louis C.K. Talks Embracing Discomfort, Awkwardness And His Dark Side In GQ Cover Story

0
0
If Louis C.K. looks slightly uncomfortable on the cover of GQ's May issue on which he's declared, "America's Undisputed King Of Comedy," his quotes inside about embracing his discomfort might explain why.

In a lengthy interview with GQ's Andrew Corsello, Louis talks about how his relatable comedic material stems from being okay with -- and even putting himself in -- uncomfortable situations in order to learn more about being human.

"You’ve got to embrace discomfort. It’s the only way you can put yourself in situations where you can learn, and the only way you can keep your senses fresh once you’re there," C.K. said.

To back that up, he recalled a time when he chose to sit with the newly bussed-in black children who came to attend his otherwise completely white junior high school because he wanted to get to know them:

"It was awkward and scary, but I made a lot of black friends, and that was the only way to do it. It had to be uncomfortable. It was actually racist, ’cause I was sitting down with these kids only because they were black. Sometimes discomfort is the only way through."

Louis talked about his darker jokes (apparently his daughter also shares his love of dark humor) and how during the years when his career was at its lowest, he was never actually suicidal, "but wanted to be."

"It never stopped getting worse. I remember thinking, 'This is too much for me to handle. I wanted to give up. I knew it was my right to. But then a few minutes would go by and I’d realize, I’m still here. In other words, there was no escape from it. And I’d be a little disappointed at not being truly suicidal. I hated being 'all right.'"

Read the full interview here and find out how C.K.'s depression helped him come up with his "70 percent rule" for making decisions, plus some insights on why a good joke isn't a punchline, but a story that goes on forever.

The May issue of GQ becomes available on April 29.

Billy Eichner Tells Seth Meyers About His Childhood Brush With 'SNL'

0

There is NEVER a dull moment when Billy Eichner is around.

Seth Meyers experienced that insane Billy Eichner energy when the "Billy On The Street" host and recurring "Parks And Recreation" star stopped by "Late Night".

Eichner chatted with Meyers about Season 3 of his Fuse show, which he described to audience members as "'Cash Cab' on cocaine," and reminisced about his very brief childhood appearance on "Saturday Night Live". As a "really fat, gay, obese, Jewish kid," Eichner was the perfect fit to play one of John Goodman's sons. Luckily for us, Meyers had the throwback picture to prove it.

Check out Billy's hilarious interview above.

Blake Griffin And DeAndre Jordan's Table Read Of 'Space Jam' Will Make Your Week

0

Week. Made.

If you’re still mourning the fact that the rumored “Space Jam” sequel with LeBron James turned out to be, well, just a rumor, then we’ve got the perfect pick-me-up.

The Los Angeles Clippers’ Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan agreed to do a table read of the original film’s script with a number of our favorite comedic stars, including Seth Green, Paul Scheer and Nick Kroll of "The League", as well as Danielle Fishel (who will always be Topanga in our hearts).

Griffin and Green play the film’s respective heroes, Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny. But it’s the ensemble that really gives this read its legs. (DeAndre’s Charles Barkley impression is just impeccable, and Kroll’s perverse take on Daffy Duck is hilarious.)

Funny Or Die recently posted a video of the table read, which took place at LA's Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre on March 23. The result is seriously fantastic.

Don’t take our word, though. Give it a watch.
