"You wanted to be the hero," sneers Jamie Foxx's Electro in the Super Bowl trailer for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," "now you've got to pay the price." Sony released a trio of new looks at the upcoming "Spider-Man" sequel during Super Bowl XLVIII, and the teasers do nothing to disabuse the notion that something terrible might happen to Spider-Man's lady love, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone).

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2," which stars Andrew Garfield as the title friendly neighborhood spider-man, is out on May 2. Watch an extended version of the "Spider-Man" Super Bowl trailer above.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Perform During Super Bowl Halftime Show

The Red Hot Chili Peppers joined Bruno Mars on stage during the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show, performing their song "Give It Away."

The Chili Peppers' '90s funk rock and Mars retro-pop proved to be a dynamic combination during the halftime show.

Despite being shirtless for their performance, the Chili Peppers kept things G-rated. Not that their behavior wasn't in question: Back in January, bassist Flea had asked his Twitter followers if they wanted to see his "c--k" during the Super Bowl. (The tweet was soon deleted.) Fortunately, Flea avoided becoming the next wardrobe malfunction on the Super Bowl stage.

On Jan. 29, a song called "Abracadabralifornia" surfaced on the Internet, claiming to be a new Chili Peppers song crafted specifically for their Super Bowl showing. The song, however, was quickly revealed as a hoax, originally recorded in 2013 by comedian Jon Daly and Hot Karate frontman Cyrus Ghahremani for the podcast "Comedy Bang Bang" as an homage to the band.

Drummer Chad Smith also said that after their Super Bowl performance, the band will be focusing on writing their next album.

Adam Brody Thinks Seth Cohen Didn't Survive The Last 10 Years

In the seven years since "The O.C." ended, Adam Brody has maintained steady work appearing in a number of movies and TV shows and became engaged to actress Leighton Meester, but he doesn't think the show's Seth Cohen would have fared nearly as well.

"If I had to predict, I'd say Seth Cohen is dead," Brody told Nylon magazine when asked what he thinks the character would be doing today. "I think he'd be going down to Mexico and probably had a bad car accident. It wasn't any fault of his own, but yeah, knowing what I know now about Seth and his poor decision-making, that's my guess."

With such a somber fate for his former alter ego, it made it much harder for Nylon to wonder what bands Brody believes TV's favorite emo kid would be listening to today.

"I mean, he's probably hanging out in heaven watching Jimi Hendrix and Lou Reed live," Brody offered up as a consolation. "He's probably getting the best concert ever!"

Well that's a silver lining, we suppose.

Today Is The 55th Anniversary Of 'The Day The Music Died'

In the early hours of Feb. 3, 1959, a single-engined, 1947 Beechcraft Bonanza plane crashed in a cornfield near Clear Lake, Iowa, killing everyone on board. When investigators surveyed the wreckage later that day, they found the bodies of rock and roll artist Buddy Holly and tour-mates, Ritchie Valens and J. P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson, as well as the pilot, Roger Peterson.

The news sent a shock through the still-emerging rock and roll world. As Claire Suddath pointed out in a Time article for the 50th anniversary of the crash, however, the response to Holly's death was subdued compared to the farewells that would be given to later rockstars, many of whom became household names thanks in part to Holly's music.

Twelve years later, the pioneering 22-year-old from Lubbock, Texas proved again that he'd inspired a generation of musicians when Don McLean sang about his death -- along with those of Valens and Richardson -- dubbing Feb. 3 "the day the music died" in his renowned folk rock hit, "American Pie." While the song doesn't include mention of their names, McLean has said that he was inspired both by Holly's music, as well as the way he felt his life -- and the country, as it headed into the 1960s -- change soon after reading headlines about the plane crash that claimed Holly's life.

Below, McLean's "American Pie," accompanied by an unofficial music video aired on the program "Deja View" in the 1980s:

Correction: An earlier version of this story suggested that Holly's band included Valens and Richardson. While they had all played on the 1959 "Winter Dance Party Tour," they did so as separate acts.

Ronan Farrow Tweets Support For Dylan Farrow Following Woody Allen Sexual Abuse Allegations

Ronan Farrow tweeted support for his sister Dylan Farrow following Woody Allen's vitriolic response to her open letter alleging Allen had sexually abused her at the age of 7.

Ronan's show of allegiance followed a statement from Allen's lawyer Elkan Abramowitz, which pointed blame at Allen's ex, Mia Farrow. "It is tragic that after 20 years a story engineered by a vengeful lover resurfaces after it was fully vetted and rejected by independent authorities," Abramowitz wrote. "The one to blame for Dylan's distress is neither Dylan nor Woody Allen."

Dylan's letter was published on Nicholas Kristof's New York Times blog on Saturday (Feb.1), seemingly as a response to Ronan's outrage over Allen's winning of the Cecil B. Demille Lifetime Achievement Award at the Golden Globes on Jan. 12.

The letter rehashes the abuse allegations that first came to light in the 1993 custody case and later addressed in a Vanity Fair interview last year. "Woody Allen took me by the hand and led me into a dim, closet-like attic on the second floor of our house," Dylan wrote. "He told me to lay on my stomach and play with my brother’s electric train set. Then he sexually assaulted me."

Dylan's letter was met with controversy extending beyond the various responses of her immediate family. Although Abramowitz noted that Allen will be responding "very soon," the director has yet to respond directly and declined to comment when leaving Madison Square Garden on Saturday night (Feb. 1).

Have you ever laughed so hard that you just physically couldn't stop? Ever had it happen to you on-air?

We can't help but laugh along with these six celebrities as they giggle their way through their interviews. The most endearing part? Watching them struggle to keep a straight face.

Warning: The videos below may be contagious. There's a risk that you will start to laugh so hard that you'll be unable to control it.

Anderson Cooper usually keeps it cool when reporting the news, but not this time. His giggling is so adorable, we don't ever want it to stop! (Yes, this really happened on live television.)

Tom Cruise's laughing fit on "The Late Show With David Letterman" gives us yet another reason to love him. As if we needed it ...

There's nothing better than watching Roger Federer on the court. That is, of course, unless you're watching him laugh uncontrollably while being interviewed in Spanish. Prepare to swoon.

Apparently, Britney Spears and the tennis pro have more in common than one would think. When another language is involved, they just can't keep it together.

Below is Emma Watson's cutest moment of all time. Even cuter than little Hermione Granger in "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone."

Joe Biden laughs at himself (or an impersonation of himself) and it's hilarious.

Photos of Philip Seymour Hoffman's days at Fairport High School have surfaced.

The 46-year-old actor, who was found dead of an apparent drug overdose in his New York City apartment on Sunday (Feb. 2), was a beloved alumnus of the school near Rochester, N.Y. and had a profound impact on those who knew him.

His former English teacher John Baynes spoke out about Hoffman following his tragic death, telling WHEC that he was "an extraordinary and gifted talent."

Snakkle.com released photos of Hoffman in high school, noting that he had just starred as Plutarch Heavensbee in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire." He is set to appear in parts one and two of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" to be released in Nov. 2014 and Nov. 2015, respectively.

Hoffman won an Oscar for his role in the 2005 film "Capote" and was nominated three other times for "Charlie Wilson's War" (2007), "Doubt" (2008) and "The Master" (2012).

Westboro Baptist Church Will Picket Philip Seymour Hoffman's Funeral

As the world mourns the untimely death of actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, one group is already dancing on his grave, and plans to picket his funeral. This will come as no surprise to anyone familiar with the hate group known as the Westboro Baptist 'Church,' who also planned to picket the funerals of Paul Walker and Cory Monteith earlier this year.

Church members were busy picketing the Super Bowl when reports of Hoffman's death broke, and they wasted no time expressing their plans to demonstrate at his funeral.

They took aim at the renowned actor for his Oscar-willing role in "Capote" as "fag Truman Capote," as well as his portrayal of Father Flynn in "Doubt."

Their official picket schedule doesn't currently list Hoffman's funeral.

A real priest, Father James Martin, S.J., weighed in today on his wholly different impression of Philip Seymour Hoffman. They met in 2005 in New York City as Hoffman directed "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot" at the Public Theater, and worked together again as Hoffman asked Martin to help him prepare for his role as a priest in "Doubt." Martin told The Huffington Post, "He was a lovely soul and it was a grace to know him."

Justin Bieber: Needs To Stop Spanking Strippers -- His Fans Are Women

$

Licking and biting stripper's nipples, dropping $75,000 on strippers and reportedly spanking strippers in an as yet-to-be-released sex tape -- Justin, this kind of sexist behavior is going to turn off your female fans.

Justin Bieber -- you need to start showing respect for women and stop treating them like sex objects if you want to retain your female fan base.

Justin Bieber Needs To Relearn How To Respect Women

Think about it, Justin. Whether you like it or not, a huge portion of your 63 million Facebook fans, 49 million Twitter followers, and 13 million Instagram followers are still young women. They crush on you, look up to you as a role model, and want to believe the best about you. When you frolic and fondle strippers, it's like you're saying that women are toys to play with.

Until just a few months ago, you spent a great deal of time promoting positive and empowering messages -- "believe" in yourself and "never say never" to your dreams.

But now, almost daily, a key message that you're broadcasting to the world is that you have little respect for women.

When you repeatedly get wild with strippers -- reportedly throw $75,000 in one-dollar bills at a Miami stripper and get lap dances, lick and bite another stripper's nipple, and then allegedly spank a stripper in a video -- you are really objectifying women. Then, there was your reported visit to a Brazilian brothel and your alleged after-party with two prostitutes.

Justin -- you're basically telling the world and your millions of female fans that at this point in your life, you're not viewing women as partners, friends, role models or advisors. No, you're just looking at them as turn-ons, and objects of sexual gratification.

Justin Bieber: What Happened To Selena Gomez?

It wasn't that long ago that the most important young woman in your life was your girlfriend, Selena Gomez. When you were involved with her, you were in a real relationship with a smart, confident, accomplished young woman who was an equal partner.

But now, the girls who aren't strippers that you dally with, like Chantel Jeffries, are just that -- fleeting dalliances, in which you seem to hold all the power. Chantel was literally just along for the ride with you for a couple of days. Just a follower on your party train, like Tati Neves, who filmed you sleeping in Brazil, after a bash at your rented pad.

What changed? What's the deal?

Justin Bieber: Remember The Way You Used To Be

Justin, yes, you're 19. But most 19-year-old men don't just objectify women today. Most would rather have a mutually loving relationship, like the one you apparently once had with Selena.

Furthermore, most guys, 19, don't have the years of life and work experience that you do. You should be mature enough at this point to know better. Plus, in the past, you've shown so much sensitivity to other women and girls -- to your mom, Pattie Mallette, to Selena, to Ariana Grande, to Ellen DeGeneres, and to little Avalanna Routh.

You've even started including some girl-disrespecting lyrics in your songs: "Ooh, you know females/And how they like to run their mouths," from "All Bad!" It's disappointing that you would take such a jab, at young women, when singing, especially when they're the ones who will be buying your music and concert tickets.

Justin, a generation of young women fell in love with you because you seemed like the perfect guy -- sweet, cute, romantic, sensitive, and respectful to your young female fans. You need to remember that the next time you're about to lick a stripper.

Good Morning Heartache, Good Morning Life

Today is the fifteenth anniversary of my living clean and sober, free from the grips of a long, secret prescription painkiller and alcohol addiction.

I went to sleep last night imagining the grief of the family, children, friends, colleagues and fans of Mr. Hoffman. His gifts, so powerful, his demons, more so.

I awoke to the love and support of my husband and family and friends and fellow sober folk who trudge and share, linked in our common recovery from the grips of a disease that killed my brother at 21 and a friend's son at 20 and, and, and...

What we rarely talk about are the deaths of the unknown soldiers and civilians, the non-famous. Their deaths, no less sad and tragic, their families' grief, any lesser.

What is clear is that it is a disease, that it is progressive AND that there is recovery. You can try for recovery at the myriad places and facilities and programs that will help you, for a price; and then there are rooms all over the world that will offer you a seat and a safe refuge that cost nothing but your desire to recover.

There are plans to try to curb the prescription drug dependence epidemic. The FDA is considering reclassifying the Oxycodone drugs that have become ubiquitous with a current group of addicts, myself included, so that it is harder for an addict to obtain it. That comes on the heels of the possible legalization and decriminalization of marijuana. I don't have an opinion on that, there are many others more suited to discuss the pros and cons -- but it is a concern.

Depression and other mental health illnesses are also a pathway to seeking relief through pharmaceuticals. It feels like the time has come to redouble our dialogue about mental health care, talk therapy, group therapy, drug courts rather than prison. The mental health of our returning war heroes seems first and foremost to me.

You can start by first educating yourself about the disease of alcoholism and addiction and then reach out into your own family, your own community and see what programs you can get involved with.

To just read about Mr. Hoffman and then agree that it is sad and then do nothing to help another, seems the waste. Not his death but our communal inaction to it.

I am going to try to lend a hand, try to help another and try to relate this very sad moment to my own salvation, one day at a time.

NEW YORK (AP) — A law enforcement official says tests have confirmed there was heroin in at least some of the dozens of plastic packets in a New York City apartment where Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead. Officials are working to determine whether the drug was mixed or tainted with anything else.

An autopsy was being conducted Monday. Police have been investigating Hoffman's death as an apparent overdose. Law enforcement officials said he was found with a needle in his arm. Two officials said Monday that at least four dozen small packets were found in the apartment. The officials said some packages were stamped with the ace of hearts, others with the ace of spades.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to talk about the evidence found.

Why Naya Rivera Likes That Big Sean 'Wears The Pants' In The Relationship (PHOTO)

Naya Rivera’s wedding date has yet to be revealed, but the “Glee” star is in full honeymoon mode.

With a sexy floral top and matching skirt, the 27-year-old star graces the cover of Cosmopolitan for Latina’s Spring issue. In an interview with the magazine, Rivera raved about her relationship with her fiancé and the one thing she wants to learn when she has kids.

Boyfriend “Big Sean” proposed last October -- and it’s clear that the winter has not brought about a case of cold feet for the actress.

“I think he’s going to be an amazing husband, and he’ll make a great father someday,” she told Cosmopolitan For Latinas. “He’s so kind to people, but he also wears the pants in our relationship, which I love. We Latinas are very independent and strong, so it’s even sweeter that I’ve found somebody who can let me out of that role for a minute.”

The Puerto Rican star described herself and other Latinas as “really great nurturers who are great to our men” and “very resourceful.” When she was 19, Rivera revealed, she would lie about having a bachelor’s degree on her resume to be able to get a job.

“Even when I didn’t have much, I always acted as if I had everything I wanted,” the actress and singer told Cosmo. “Latin women are go-getters by nature. We have a certain charm and finesse that gets us what we want.”

Despite being proud of her Latin roots, Naya is aware that her Spanish is not as strong as she’d like it to be and she certainly expects more from her children.

“It sucks because I have no one to [speak Spanish] to, but it’s something I need to learn when I have kids. They need to be fluent.”

As the star prepares for her wedding, she continues to surprise “Glee” fans as Santana on Fox’s musical comedy. Recently, she gave fans of the series a very sexy sneak peek of the show’s 100th episode via instagram.

Despite Woody Allen Backlash, We're Still Not Serving Abuse Victims

$

In her tribute to Woody Allen while accepting his Cecile B. Demile award, Diane Keaton said, "Woody's films have been changing the way we think about life, love and the pursuit of neuroses forever."

In her open letter, featured on Nicholas Kristof's New York Times blog, Dylan Farrow wrote, "When I was seven years old, Woody Allen took me by the hand and led me into a dim, closet-like attic on the second floor of our house. He told me to lay on my stomach and play with my brother's electric train set. Then he sexually assaulted me."

In a fictional world, these statements would inevitably contradict each other. In the real world, it's hard to accept that an endearing cinematic genius could simultaneously be a dangerous child predator.

But we do a disservice to victims everywhere by compartmentalizing fact and fiction. We do a disservice to victims by assuming that talent and morality always go hand-in-hand.

While many are rallying behind Farrow, Allen's friends and fans have quickly come to his defense.

So why is it so hard to imagine that a brilliant filmmaker could also be capable of such a heinous crime? Why is it so difficult to believe that both Diane Keaton and Dylan Farrow could be telling the truth?

Because it is much more comforting to believe that depraved, immoral acts are only committed by degenerate strangers in dark alleys. We've come to expect that talent and genius must be equated with goodness and morality. Even though, this fallacy has been exposed time and time again.

Consider, for example, Aaron Hernandez, an incredibly skilled and versatile football player who made a name for himself early in his career. So when he was charged with multiple homicides his fans and teammates were incredulous at the news. But did they have reason to be? When did excellent fitness and top-notch hand-eye coordination become indicative of moral character?

Likewise, the whole of South Africa felt betrayed when Oscar Pistorius, arguably the country's most notable celebrity export since Mandela himself, shot and killed his girlfriend. Whether Pistorius is a cold-blooded murderer or a paranoid gun nut is yet to be seen, but somewhere along the way we confused being able to run really, really fast with being 'a stand-up guy' and 'all-around great human being.'

Or consider Roman Polanski. A wildly talented filmmaker, actor, producer and writer who has also pled guilty to the statutory rape of a 13-year-old girl.

We prop up celebrities and sports stars on pedestals of our own creation -- not ones to which they have necessarily ascended or earned themselves.

Hollywood and storybooks teach us that there is always a thick moral line between good and bad. Villains rarely have redeemable qualities, and heroes, while sometimes flawed, always have the best intentions at heart.

Somewhere along the line, we bought into these notions of good and bad and cast our characters accordingly.

Ironically (or perhaps with no irony at all) Woody Allen has made a name for himself by creating multi-dimensional characters that blur the lines between good and bad. Allen's films feature characters that are fundamentally flawed and whimsically wrought, navigating the diverse terrain of our complicated and, at times, contradictory world.

Even Allen's most off-putting characters are more endearing in their realism than the cardboard cutouts of most mainstream movies.

So this is what it really comes down to: Woody Allen fans don't just appreciate his work; they see parts of themselves in it. And so the question becomes: If I can relate to the worlds that Allen creates and if he is indeed a predator, what would that say about me?

In reality, it would say nothing about you. It would say nothing about the many fans who identify with Woody Allen's films and the characters that occupy them. Instead it would say something about our insistence to see people one-dimensionally. It would say something about our collective vision and how we distort it to play into fairytale narratives of absolute good and absolute evil.

We don't want to believe that somebody who could do something so heinous could also possess such a phenomenal gift.

But time and time again, we've seen that talent and success don't exclusively occupy the moral high ground. Time and time again, we've seen our "heroes" fall.

It is high time we embrace a more dynamic way of seeing. The revolutionary filmmaker that Diane Keaton praises could be the same sexual deviant that Dylan Farrow condemns. We hurt victims when we pretend that the only perpetrators are ones lurking in the shadows.

Chris Brown Should Remain In Treatment, Judge Says

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A judge says Chris Brown should remain in a rehabilitation facility and turned down a prosecutor's motion to have the R&B singer jailed over an arrest in Washington, D.C. last year.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Brandlin says Brown appears to be making progress in a treatment facility and should remain there. A prosecutor asked Monday to have Brown taken into custody over a misdemeanor assault case filed against Brown in D.C.

Brown remains on probation in Los Angeles over his 2009 attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna. Brandlin revoked the singer's probation in December but made no changes to his sentence during a brief hearing on Monday.

The singer's lawyer Mark Geragos asked Brandlin to allow Brown to remain in treatment and give time for the Washington case to be resolved.

"I Am Pasta Fierce" isn't what Beyonce says when she's hungry, but it is an entree you can order at a New York restaurant that's offering an entire Beyonce-themed menu for Valentine's Day.

On Feb. 14, Brucie NYC, a hip little Italian spot in Brooklyn's Cobble Hill neighborhood, will be serving dishes such as "Pink Is The Flavor" (scallop, monkfish torchon, grapefruit, beet, breakfast radish) and "Breastiny's Child" (veal breast braciole, pickled fig, sopresatta, goat yogurt), as well as a few Jay-Z inspired choices. (Oysters Rocafella, anyone? How about some Jay-Ziti?)

"We were trying to think of what to do for Valentine's Day," the restaurant's owner and executive chef Zahra Tangorra told The Huffington Post. "And I'm turned off by the whole, 'We have a price fix, you can get a crab cake' or whatever."

"We thought, everyone loves Beyonce. Especially us," she said. "So me and my staff worked really hard to make fabulous dishes based on those titles."

Bravo.

Kia Super Bowl Ad Features Laurence Fishburne As An Opera-Singing Morpheus (VIDEO)

If Morpheus was a car valet and he gave you a choice -- red key or blue -- which would you choose?

Well, according to Kia, the answer should be the former.

In anticipation of Super Bowl Sunday, the car company released a rather odd, but entertaining, ad last week for its K900 flagship luxury sedan. The spot features a stony-faced Laurence Fishburne (as Morpheus from the "Matrix" trilogy) showing a baffled couple what luxury in a car looks, feels and sounds like. (Spoiler: It seems to include plush leather seats and Morpheus singing opera in the backseat.)

Quoting car news site Edmunds.com, the Los Angeles Times reports that Kia's commercial, entitled "The Truth," was a big win for the company, "garnering a 7,100 percent increase in Web traffic" for the K900 sedan compared to average user interest over the previous four Sundays.

The commercial, which has racked up more than 3 million views on YouTube so far, "was a critical one for the brand since it introduced many car shoppers to the new Kia flagship model and signaled the brand's entrance into the luxury market," Edmunds.com wrote of the "Matrix"-inspired ad.

Indeed, the ad seems to have gone down well with many netizens, with some taking to Twitter to express their delight:

As the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks battled for the right to lift the Lombardi Trophy, Super Bowl advertisers competed for another prize: your attention. Erin Andrews: 'Go Ask Michael Strahan How Much His Suits Cost'

Most women working in male-dominated fields have dealt with some form of sexism throughout their careers, as successful sports reporter Erin Andrews knows all too well.

Working in one of the oldest boys clubs, Andrews has been stalked, targeted for her appearance and subjected to a host of sexist remarks as a female reporter covering men's sports. In an interview published in Elle on Feb. 3, Andrews discussed how many people evaluate her on appearance rather than ability, but don't subject her male-coworkers to the same superficial scrutiny:
There’s always an impression about the way girls look on the sidelines. I’m not going to lie, I really want to look nice. But I feel like it’s such a double standard because the men I work with are gorgeous. Most of them are former athletes and they take really good care of themselves. And I gotta tell ya, their suits aren’t cheap. So, when people are like, "Oh, she paid this much for her jacket," or "She’s wearing these kind of boots on the field," it’s like, "Yeah, but go ask Michael Strahan how much his suits cost."

This isn't the first time Andrews has spoken out about gender-specific challenges. "I was baptized into this world where these sports blogs dubbed me the 'Sideline Barbie,' [and the] the 'Sideline Princess'" she told The Hollywood Reporter in a 2013 interview. "I was not only worrying about the questions I was asking, but then I had men on these blogs critiquing what I was wearing."

Although the sports world has a long way to go in eradicating sexism, we're happy to see an outspoken reporter such as Andrews breaking barriers one game at a time.
