BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Showtime says Josh Hartnett and Eva Green have been cast in the period psychological thriller "Penny Dreadful."

Showtime's president, David Nevins, described the production as a scary monster story with a different look and style.

He told the Television Critics Association on Tuesday that It's the first genre series for the premium cable channel.

Hartnett will play an American who finds danger in Victorian London. Green, who starred in the James Bond film "Casino Royale," plays a woman who carries secrets and risk.

The eight-episode series was created by John Logan, whose credits include "Gladiator." He and filmmaker Sam Mendes are among its executive producers.

"Penny Dreadful" begins filming this fall for a scheduled 2014 debut on Showtime.

'Reign' Is 'Not The History Channel'

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — The cast and creator of the upcoming CW series "Reign," about the rise of Mary, Queen of Scots, are defending creative liberties taken for the show.

"Reign" stars Adelaide Kane as Mary, a 15-year-old who arrives at court because of an arranged marriage to Francis, the future king of France.

One issue: Francis is played by hunky actor Toby Regbo when in reality Francis was a sickly child.

And to keep things interesting, there's a love triangle where Mary is torn between her husband-to-be and another hunky character named Sebastian, who never existed.

Kane says the show's target demo of 18- to 34-year-olds won't care.

"How many teenage girls do you know that are obsessed with history? I know I wasn't at that age," Kane said Tuesday at the annual Television Critics Association press tour.

"It's also TV, so you can take creative license. It's entertainment, it's not the History channel," said Kane, adding that she did a lot of research to play Mary.

Torrance Coombs, who plays Sebastian, joked about his character not being real in history.

Executive Producer Laurie McCarthy said she uses Mary's story as a template for storytelling. "I actually feel liberated by the actual facts of her life."

"Reign" premieres in October.

The Kardashians Were Not So Happy With Him

NEW YORK — There's no stopping Joel McHale this summer.

The 41-year-old actor is busy with his E! reality spoof "The Soup" and preparing for the fifth season of the NBC comedy series "Community," which starts shooting Aug. 20.

He's moving outside his comfort zone with a starring role in the upcoming supernatural thriller "Beware the Night." He plays a New York City police officer in the film, and at the time of the interview, was shooting on location in the Bronx.

McHale calls the role a dream come true, especially because he gets to work with Eric Bana.

He's also the host of the Klondike Celebrity Challenge, a social media effort. Fans decide the fate of three retro stars, including Alfonso Ribeiro of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" and `80s pop singer Tiffany, by asking what they would do for a Klondike bar. A third star will be announced Aug. 12.

McHale has taken a "one-at-a-time" approach to his various projects and says E! has been "superflexible." In a recent interview with The Associated Press, he talked about his various projects.

AP: How would you describe "Beware the Night"?

McHale: Just to be in it, I was so thrilled, and then knowing I got to work with Eric Bana, who is one of my all-time favorites, was just a dream come true. Then you've got Olivia Munn in there and Edgar Ramirez is amazing. ... This cast is dynamite, except for myself.

AP: What's it about?

McHale: It's kind of a horror film at some points but it's about these cops in the Bronx ... and it's a very violent, harsh movie, but with a really good story, and I'm thrilled I got cast in it.

AP: You make fun of the Kardashian family quite a bit on "The Soup." Their show also airs on E! Are you ever told to tone it down?

McHale: Well, the Kardashians are incredibly savvy and they know if they are being talked about then that's good. And now Kris (Jenner) has a new talk show. They've got every single product. They are a machine and they actually now work very hard at what they're doing – I'm not sure what it is. ... For a while I know that they weren't (happy) and the Kardashians were going, `Can you stop doing that?' But when we make fun of Bruce (Jenner,) no one has stopped me from doing that until Bruce comes up and punches me in the face.

AP: Do you like the Kardashians?

McHale: They're incredibly nice. I've never witnessed diva behavior from them, which means they're pretty easy to work with, which is one of the reasons they continue. So many reality stars are, their egos become so awful and then they just ... peter out.

AP: How many shows do you actually watch for "The Soup"?

McHale: Not as many as you'd think because I almost went insane when we first started when I was watching a lot of television and I got to the point where I was watching TV all day and going home and watching TV and I was going, `I'm going to jump through this plate glass window if I have to watch another two hours of `Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,' which was a fine show but after eight hours of television. ... So, we got a bigger staff and they cover, they find things that I didn't even know existed, like `Felt' on Logo, which you should check it out because they take people's sex therapy sessions and have puppets act them out. Yeah. They do.

AP: Are you amazed that some of these shows are actually broadcast?

McHale: I'm amazed all the time by what gets broadcast. It goes back to what an old friend told me back in college is that 90 percent of all art is pretty much crap and 10 percent is terrific, and so I think that's the same for television. I think we are in an era right now of some of the best television ever, and I think there's also the worst television ever, and I benefit from the worst part.

AP: Are you surprised at the success of "Community"?

McHale: I knew the show was kind of a special kind of different show ... because (creator) Dan Harmon's brain is like nobody else's brain. Getting out of your first season is a nutso process as well. But to be in our fifth season, I can't believe it. And we've always had this lousy time slot. We've always been up against `Big Bang Theory,' which is a juggernaut. And NFL football and March madness, and survived it. We're syndicated on Hulu which, whenever I look at the list, we're doing pretty well. I think the success is that our viewers are so young that they don't watch the shows at the broadcast time. But they still watch. ... I hope we get to six seasons and a movie.

AP: What is the Klondike Celebrity Challenge?

McHale: People will Facebook or tweet what they would like a celebrity to do for a bar, and it can't be too crazy because the person suggesting it has to do it themselves. So you can't say, `I would like Alfonso Ribeiro to commit arson.'

It seems like every full moon, some tabloid decides to reprint its old "Jennifer Aniston is Pregnant!" story for the gazillionth time. This week, it's InTouch magazine that claims Jen and fiance Justin Theroux are parents to-be.

"After years of failed relationships and false starts, Jennifer Aniston's dream of starting a family is finally feeling within reach," the magazine teases on its website. "According to new reports, Jen has begun IVF treatments, and if all goes as planned, she'll be pregnant by her 45th birthday on Feb. 11 -- if she's not already. 'She's ready,' says an insider close to Jen and fiancé Justin Theroux, adding that the megastar will be 'an amazing mom.'"

And though we have no doubt an Aniston-Theroux infant will be one lucky baby, we must say -- we highly doubt these reports.

Just look at all the magazines that splashed Jen Aniston's uterus update on their cover these past few years:

Aniston does, however, grace the cover of Glamour magazine's September issue where she touches loosely on the the topic of kids -- in her own words, no anonymous sources necessary.

"I know Justin [Theroux, her fiance], for instance, has extremely amazing paternal instincts," Aniston tells her interviewer, fellow actor Jason Sudeikis, according to PopSugar. "Because [growing up] he had to sort of become the parent. I think when you have to become the parent when you're a younger person, you learn those instincts."

Until next time, Jen!

Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe are leaving "Parks and Rec."

BuzzFeed reports the two will exit the NBC comedy midway through its upcoming sixth season. According to BuzzFeed, their exit will take place during Episode 13, likely airing as part of February sweeps.

"Parks and Recreation" executive producer Mike Schur issued a statement confirming BuzzFeed's report.

"The news about Rob and Rashida is true -- they will be leaving the show after the 13th episode of the upcoming season six. We've been working on their storyline (on and off) for four seasons now, and heading into this year, with the two of them contemplating parenthood, it felt like a natural time to move them into the next phase.

"We absolutely love both Rashida and Rob, and will be sad to see them go. Rashida was one of the very first people we knew we wanted in the cast, and as important as Ann is to Leslie (and vice-versa), she'll certainly never be far from Pawnee. Rob we initially thought we could only have for six or eight episodes, and we couldn't be happier that he will have stuck around for 75.

"They are wonderful, funny, committed actors, they've been a huge part of the Parks and Rec family, and we think we have a great Pawnee send-off in the works for them," he said.

According to Deadline, NBC wants to keep Lowe around: The network is reportedly in the process of finalizing a development deal for a potential new series with the actor, who has portrayed Chris Traeger, currently Pawnee's City Manager, since the end of Season 2. Jones has played Ann Perkins, a nurse and Leslie Knope's (Amy Poehler) best friend since the series began. Last we saw them in the Season 5 finale of "Parks and Rec," the two characters trying to have a baby together.

This is the first major "Parks and Rec" cast shakeup since Paul Schneider, who played Mark Brendanawicz on the series, left in 2010.

To console ourselves due to the sad news of Jones' and Lowe's "Parks and Rec" departures, let us relive some of Leslie and Ann's best moments below.

"Parks and Rec" Season 6 premieres Thursday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. ET.

"Nashville" is shaking things up with Oliver Hudson in Season 2.

Hudson, who spent seven seasons on CBS's "Rules of Engagement," will recur on the new season, according to TVLine. The actor, who's Goldie Hawn's son and Kate Hudson's brother, will play a potential new love interest for Rayna (Connie Britton), her label's new executive when Season 2 picks up with the aftermath of Rayna and Deacon's (Charles Esten) car accident. Then, there will be a time jump.

Hudson's other TV credits include "Dawson's Creek," "My Guide to Becoming a Rock Star" and "The Mountain." He won't be the only new actor in "Nashville" Season 2: "Sharknado" actress Aubrey Peeples will recur as Layla, a runner-up in a big reality singing competition, and Chaley Rose will play Zoey, Scarlett's friend.

In addition to the new characters, Chris Carmack of "The O.C." fame and Lennon and Maisy Stella will be series regulars on the ABC musical drama.

Saturday Night Live will be down three of its biggest stars when it returns this fall, but that hasn't dampened Seth Meyers' spirits about returning to the "Weekend Update" anchor desk.

"[It's] certainly a rebuilding effort, but I don't think it's any bigger than ones that have happened historically. It's a really exciting time to be at the show. I'm really glad I'm going back for the first-half of next year," Meyers said at the Television Critics Association fall TV previews on Wednesday. "I think the most fun I ever had at the show was the first year with Andy [Samberg], Bill [Hader], Jason [Sudeikis] and Kristen [Wiig] when they call came in."

Henry Winkler's Suprising Tie To 'Orange Is The New Black'

Henry Winkler dropped by the "Late Late Show," and revealed a surprising fact to his old friend Craig Ferguson: He has a history with Jenji Kohan, the woman behind Netflix’s new hit show “Orange is the New Black.”

“The young lady who developed that show, her first show was 'Weeds,' was my intern when she was in high school," Winkler said. "Her name was Jenji. Jenji Kohan.”

“So you’re telling me interns can sometimes be useful for other things?" Ferguson joked.

Apparently it pays to be an intern for Henry Winkler, though we have no idea what that would have entailed. But if our math is correct she would’ve been in high school in the mid-80s, right around when “Happy Days” was ending.

Kohan, who also worked on "Tracey Takes On" and "Gilmore Girls," has won an Emmy for her work and "Orange Is The New Black" could earn her another. The show is getting great reviews, with many critics calling it Netflix’s best original series so far.

"The Late Late Show" with Craig Ferguson airs on weeknights at 12:35 a.m. ET on CBS.

BabyPost: Jessica Alba Is Messing With the Wrong Toddler

Jessica Alba is messing with the wrong toddler.

In a war of she-said she-said, the battle between the two Honest companies is raging and someone, well, isn't being very honest.

Coles notes version (or Crib notes for our U.S. audience):

Alba's Honest Company is attempting to block popular Montreal-based mom blogger Honest Toddler from using the Honest Toddler name, including its use on Twitter, Facebook, the popular blog and the new television series optioned by 90210 and Sex in the City-famed producer Darren Star.

Alba's side: People will confuse the brands. We had the domain name honesttodler.com first. We've been nice. We've reached out. We're just protecting our patent and our brand.

Honest Toddler's side: Consumers are smart people and can easily differentiate the brand. The name Honest Toddler was popular before Honest Company became known on the market and used the name Honest Toddler in advance of knowing the $15 domain name for honesttoddler.com was purchased by the Honest Company. The latter is not a patent infringement. It's just a protected domain name.

There is much more in the back and forth between the two parties but the gist is 'we're protecting ourselves' versus 'this should be a non-issue leave us alone.'

Related: All-Natural Baby Products

Honest Toddler is a super hilarious mom blogger. Honest Company makes eco-friendly products. I was laughing with and at Honest Toddler long before I knew Jessica Alba was in the business of bath products and I know I'm not alone. Is Alba trying to capitalize on HT's success? What could their motivation possibly be?

I don't buy that the Honest Company is genuinely concerned people will think their products from the same company has HT.

I don't know what's more insulting. That Jessica Alba thinks consumers are too stupid to differentiate the brands, or that she thinks consumers are stupid enough to believe that that's the real reason she's trying to block HT's trademark.

In her rebuttal to the Honest Company, Bunmi Laditan, the brains behind the Toddler, says: "Many companies operate successfully with similar names. For example, have you ever bought Ritz crackers expecting to be making a hotel reservation at Ritz hotels? Of course not. Consumers can differentiate between different companies that both use the word 'honest'." Who can argue with that? Apparently, Honest Company can.

Honest Company has the money to fight this tooth and nail. One thing Alba and co. might not have banked on is the loyal following beloved Honest Toddler has and the damage she is doing to her own brand by taking up this fight. Corporation vs. little mom blogger does not make an 'honest' company seem like a fair one. It feels very much like bullying, regardless of who is 'right.'

Honest Company claims to be trying to work with Honest Toddler, allowing them to use the name they are known for, for a year, after which time, it becomes wholly owned by Honest Company. That that is what Honest Company considers 'fair' is an indication of their real reason behind the battle. They don't want what's fair. They want the name Honest Toddler and all of the popularity that goes along with it. They want the amazing following one small mom blogger has single handedly created, not with lawyers or marketer or an e-commerce executive to "build something different," as Honest Company did. Honest Toddler built her following with heart and humour and her savvy use of social media. That's it, that's all. And that group of loyal followers has her back.

I have no idea how much if at all the negative publicity is hurting Honest Company, but the battle is building Honest Toddler's vocal supporters who are crying foul.

Ultimately it doesn't matter how this back and forth started or what was said in the past. What it comes down to, at its core, is that Honest Company, for whatever reason, wants to own the Honest Toddler name, and their reason for it is lame.

If ever there was a chance of me buying Alba's products, there is no chance now. And that's not just because she's trying to quash my favourite toddler on the Internet. It's because she appears to think I'm too stupid to differentiate the two companies. She seems to think I should be confused as to why my Dove Chocolate ice cream sandwich doesn't taste like soap.

Give me some credit. Give customers some credit. And leave Honest Toddler alone.

Adam Brody Talks 'O.C.' MILFs, Kisses & More

$
0
0

Adam Brody's "O.C." years may be long behind him, but, while on "Watch What Happens Live" on Tuesday, the actor revisited the Fox soap that made him the ultimate nerdy heartthrob as Seth Cohen.

Host Andy Cohen showed Brody a clip of Tate Donovan's interview on the show from March. The actor, who played Jimmy Cooper, Marissa's (Misha Barton) father on the Fox series, jokingly said of the young cast, "They all started out great ... Then, all of them, they just fell apart. When you first get fame, you're so insecure that you just become a ding dong."

Brody thought the clip was hilarious, but then, things got serious when Cohen revealed they'd be playing a special "O.C." edition of "Plead the Fifth," in which the guests are asked three questions and can only refuse to answer one of them.

Here's how Brody's "O.C."-specific game went down

Cohen: Who is the bigger MILF: Julie Cooper [Melinda Clarke] or Kirsten Cohen [Kelly Rowan]?
Brody: I would say Julie only 'cause she relishes it.

Cohen: On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most, how big of a bitch was Mischa Barton behind-the-scenes of "The O.C."?
Brody: A 2. A 1.
Cohen: 1 being the highest?
Brody (jokingly): Yes.

Cohen: Who is the better kisser: Rachel Bilson [who played Summer Roberts] or Olivia Wilde [who played Alex Kelly]?
Brody: Well, you know, I was dating Rachel at the time, so there were less barriers. So, Rachel.

The actor bravely chose to answer all the questions and that wasn't his only act of courage. Unlike the Generation X-ers watching, Cohen was excited to have Brody on the show, not for his "O.C." fame, but for his days as Greg Brady.

Brody played Barry Williams (who starred as the eldest child on "The Brady Bunch") in a 2000 TV movie about the behind-the-scenes of the show called "Growing Up Brady." All Cohen wanted was for Brody to show him the dance he did in the movie.

“Please stand up with me and just show me the Greg Brady dance?” Cohen asked. “I'll do what I remember! I haven't seen this in a long time," Brody said, before busting a move, as you can see in the video below.

"Watch What Happens Live" airs weekdays at 11 p.m. ET on Bravo.

CARSON CITY, Nev. — Family members of Ron Goldman say they feel a sense of vulnerability after Nevada authorities granted O.J. Simpson parole on some charges stemming from his 2008 kidnapping and armed robbery convictions in Las Vegas.

Simpson was tried for murder and acquitted in Los Angeles for the 1994 death of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman.

The Goldman family said Wednesday in a statement to The Associated Press that they've experienced a reprieve and calm while Simpson has been behind bars.

They say it is unsettling to know he may regain his freedom in a few years

The ruling on Wednesday doesn't mean Simpson will leave prison. He must serve at least four more years on other sentences.

The Parole Board noted that the 66-year-old Simpson had no prior convictions..

The Raunchiest New Show On TV

$

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — There's so much sex depicted on a new cable TV series about researchers Masters and Johnson that filming it became ho-hum for star Michael Sheen.

"I never thought I would get used to having a naked woman in front of me masturbating ... but I actually broke that barrier on the show," Sheen, who plays researcher William Masters, said Tuesday.

He plays opposite Lizzy Caplan as co-researcher and future wife Virginia Johnson in Showtime's "Masters of Sex," an explicit depiction of the pair and their groundbreaking mid-20th century scientific investigation of human sexuality.

The series, based on Thomas Maier's 2009 nonfiction book, debuts Sept. 29 on Showtime. Johnson died last week at age 88 in St. Louis. She was divorced from Masters, who died in 2001.

Sheen, whose film credits include "The Queen," said the story remains pertinent because the same "problems of intimacy" and making connections with people apply today.

During a Q&A session with the Television Critics Association, the difficulty of talking about sex publicly became apparent. One reporter asked the cast and producers how the series can include humor without appearing to titter at sexuality.

"We just had a slightly inappropriate look into your sex life. We all thank you for that," Sheen replied, drolly.

Caplan (TV's "True Blood," "New Girl") said the researchers' work at Washington University in St. Louis and later at their own institute was especially important for women, allowing them to understand and accept their sexuality as healthy.

"Before Masters and Johnson, no one was telling women that. It was always their own fault," Caplan said. "And that's some (baloney)."

The series embellished some characters but "stuck to the facts very carefully," said producer Michelle Ashford. "Certainly (with) the research, we fudged none of that."

Masters and Johnson became big celebrities who were the topic of late-night talk show hosts and on the cover of news magazines. Their work drew some criticism, especially in an era when sex was seldom discussed in public and certainly not in detail.

The cast, asked whether filming sex scenes proved embarrassing, said there was a painstaking effort to protect the actors by making the production "comfortable and safe," Sheen said.

Cast member Teddy Sears recalled director John Madden saying, "I want to protect your modesty," then mimicked the British Madden giving a stage direction: "Grab her bum."

Doing repeated takes of one clinical sex scene turned out to be "decidedly unsexy after a while," Sears said.

The panelists, including executive producer Sarah Timberman, said they were not in touch with Johnson because they'd wanted to respect her privacy.

"She wanted to live out her the last few years of her life not in the limelight," Caplan said.

Johnson "bared her soul in the book (by Maier) and then was done with that," said producer Ashford.

Shark Week Should Thank 'Sharknado'

$
0
0

NEW YORK — Colliding stunts on Discovery and The Weather Channel next week feel like another "Sharknado."

Discovery is holding its 26th annual Shark Week of programming at the same time The Weather Channel is airing Hurricane Week.

The weather folks can't resist a joke about it, airing a promotional ad that depicts a giant shark flying away in a stiff wind that references both Shark Week and "Sharknado," the Syfy network movie that has become a campy classic this summer.

"If having a little fun with this very serious topic helps get a little more attention, we're all for it," said David Clark, Weather Channel president.

Shark Week is a mixture of fun and science, even including a shark talk show this summer. Discovery's embrace of the week's pop culture status was signaled with the Snuffy the Seal ad that has received more than 5.5 million views on YouTube and the Discovery website.

The ad shows a fake newscast telling a heartwarming story of a seal being returned to his natural habitat. But as the seal is being lowered into the water, a giant shark jumps up and snatches the animal in its jaws. The news crew looks horrified as an announcer says, "It's a bad week to be a seal."

The shark in The Weather Channel ad has something black in its mouth – could it be Snuffy? – before being blown away.

A true "Sharknado" collision for the networks would actually come in the spring, when The Weather Channel holds Tornado Week. But it's hard to argue with the weather calendar, and August is about when hurricane season begins in earnest.

The Weather Channel skipped Hurricane Week last year, but the interest in Superstorm Sandy brought it back. Along with boosting viewership during a normally quiet period and reminding people where they should tune when a storm is menacing a coast, the channel hopes to deliver valuable tips on hurricane preparedness, Clark said.

"Sharks as a danger is something that captures the imagination, but hurricanes are a very real danger that affects millions of people every year," Clark said.

The dual stunt weeks didn't seem to thrill the folks at Discovery all that much, perhaps because it's better to have a clear path with less competition.

"We haven't talked to them at all," said Michael Sorensen, senior director of programming at Discovery. "It's interesting that they're putting a stunt week up against ours, especially since ours has a long track record. So we'll see how that goes."

People at Discovery have certainly talked about how the film "Sharknado" fits into Shark Week and have booked the movie's star, Tara Reid, onto its late-night talk show, Sorensen said.

He said he could see the movie influencing future "Shark Week" programming, perhaps with a look at shark horror movies or examining whether there is any science behind the science fiction in the movie.

To a certain degree, though, "Sharknado" is terrific promotion for Shark Week.

"It shows people the curiosity and the fascination that people have about sharks that that kind of thing can be buzzed about," he said.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, Syfy announced the start of a "Sharknado" merchandising program, selling shirts, bags, posters and accessories tied to the movie.

WATCH: Madonna's BFF Reveals The Star's One True Love

One of Madonna's best friends, actress Debi Mazar, stopped by Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" on Tuesday and revealed that Madge's first ex-husband, actor Sean Penn, was the popstar's true love.

Host Andy Cohen, himself a proclaimed Madonna fan, allotted 45 seconds to ask Mazar as many questions as he could about her superstar best friend. One of the questions he asked involved Madonna's love life.

"Who do you think was Madonna's true love?" he asked

After a few seconds of silence, Mazar tentatively said "Sean."

"Sean Penn?" Cohen then asked.

"Maybe," she responded.

Madonna and Sean Penn were married for two years in the late 1980s. They got married in 1985 in Malibu, California, and split two years later in 1987.

During the short time the two spent as husband and wife, the pair became known as the "Poison Penns" due to reports of volatile fights fueled by Penn's drinking. There were even allegations that Penn physically abused Madonna, though she did not press charges.

Regardless of their rocky past, the two appear to be friends now, and Penn even attended one of Madonna's concerts in 2012.

Madonna was also married to director Guy Ritchie for 8 years, from 2000 to 2008.

When wearing neon, it's important to keep the rest of the look simple. Here, Ora made the mistake of pairing her loud outfit with stark white thigh-high boots, pigtails and bright red lipstick, completely overloading our senses.

Selena Gomez

Though we don't mind the crop top on the singer, it's her pants that lose us. Baggy leather pants are never okay... and hardly do her figure justice (we think she's been taking too many fashion tips from Bieber).

Zosia Mamet

Poor Zosia! We want to love everything she wears, but this look is making it tough. Between her printed top, satin shorts and matching shoes, there is too much going on.

Katy Perry

While attending the "Smurfs 2" premiere in LA, Katy Perry looked... well, a lot like a smurf. We understand the kitschy intention behind her ensemble, but the top of her dress resembles something a figure skater might wear, and her blue shoes render the look cartoonish.

Ashley Tisdale

It's as if Perry and Tisdale were in cahoots this week! Ashley's frock reminds of us of "The Little Mermaid" (perhaps it has something to do with the shells on the bust area), while her chunky black boots don't jive with the delicate dress.

Tilda Swinton

The British actress cloaked herself in an unflattering silhouette (it's impossible to see her shape under all the fabric) and an off-putting shade of brown.

Lady Gaga

Leather + Cut-outs + Sheer + An Exposed Bra = Overkill.

Rachel Bilson

We adore this short hemline on the petite "Hart of Dixie" star, but the dress itself looks like a kindergarten project gone wrong. The sequins appear as though they were haphazardly applied, making her look sloppy.

Tyra Banks

Tyra's cup runneth over (or should we say cups?), making us too distracted to look at the rest of her ensemble. This much cleavage should never appear on the red carpet.

Sharon Osborne

Unless Osbourne is getting ready to walk down the aisle, this dress is not appropriate.

Amanda Seyfried

Usually a red carpet favorite, "The Big Wedding" star didn't hit the mark this week. The color palette she chose completely washed her out.
