PHOTOS: We Can't Figure Out Heidi Klum's Dress

Heidi Klum's jaw-dropping beauty is enough to distract anyone from a less-than-perfect outfit. But we were left seriously confused by the dress she wore today during a photo call for "Germany's Next Top Model." (Yup, that's in its eighth season already.)

The black number featured gold pinstripes, triangular waist detailing and dueling fabrics on each side of her chest... which all amounted to one of the strangest necklines we've seen in a while. Of course, Heidi likes herself a good head-turning ensemble (remember her Oscars dress?). One could even say this is a relatively muted get-up for the supermodel. Need more evidence? See this dress, this dress and these eight Versace looks.

So what do you think of Heidi's latest venture into perplexing tailoring? Is this a hit or a miss?

Do you recognize this adorable little blond from somewhere? We'll give you a hint, the young lad would grow up to be a gender-bending rock star with a recent new album.

2013-05-24-bowie.jpg

You're looking at a fresh faced David Bowie, back in 1955 during his time at Burnt Ash School in a suburb of London. The young pupil is still far from donning his first onesie or experimenting with eye shadow, but we can see the space oddity he'll become if we squint a bit. (Don't you love his folded ears?)

See more pictures of baby Bowie, which we found on Night Spell, in the slideshow below.

Famed for her Tracy Anderson two-hour exercise regimens, Gwyneth Paltrow has her years as a high school athlete to thank.

The 40-year-old actress and mother of two was a track star and volleyball player while at The Spence School in New York City in the late '80s. And those long legs and that toothy grin don't look so different over two decades later. Apple and Moses seem to be blessed with some good genes, all thanks to mom!

The "Smash" series finale ended with a big musical number.

The troubled NBC musical drama ended its run on TV with a musical number performed by Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty. The song, "Big Finish," was written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman and Hilty said she was pleased with it and the series finale.

"I'm not speaking out of turn because I read something Josh Safran said in an interview," Hilty told The Huffington Post. "He wrote it so that it could be possibly the series finale. I think people will be satisfied with it. There are no major cliffhangers and it could have continued."

NBC canceled "Smash" -- along with a slew of other shows -- earlier in May.

The Breakout Stars Of Cannes

CANNES, France — "Look at these people, this wildlife."

As the partying journalist of Paolo Sorrentino's "The Great Beauty," Toni Servillo was surveying Rome's colorful nightlife, but he might as well have been contemplating the Cannes Film Festival. The 66th edition of the Cote d'Azur extravaganza drew to a close Sunday, awarding the sensual, heartbreaking lesbian romance "Blue is the Warmest Color: The Life of Adele" the festival's top honor, the Palme d'Or.

The Cannes Film Festivale is a 12-day circus of perpetual red-carpet flashbulbs, beachside soirees and, yes, a feast of some of the finest, wildest movies the world has to offer. The most exotic creatures weren't the high-heeled ones parading the Croisette, they were the ones gracing Cannes' pristine movie screens.

This year, the festival was a particularly captivating coterie of rare birds. There was Tilda Swinton as a white-haired, centuries-old vampire (Jim Jarmusch's "Only Lovers Left Alive"); Joaquin Phoenix as a 1920s pimp, sticking out his jaw like Marlon Brando (James Gray's "The Immigrant"); a sequin-covered Michael Douglas as Liberace (Steven Soderbergh's "Behind the Candelabra"); a battered and bloodied, but still cool Ryan Gosling (Nicolas Winding Refn's "Only God Forgives"); and the disabled but acrobatic dancer Souleymane Deme (Mahamat-Saleh Harouns "Grigris").

There was literal wildlife, too, including a cat named Hercules (the Coen brothers' "Inside Llewyn Davis"), a vanishing giraffe ("The Great Beauty") and an unfortunate pooch caught up in Mexico's brutal drug war (Amat Escalante's "Heli"). Cannes, alas, is a dog eat dog world.

A strong, deep slate of films in competition left some mystery before Steven Spielberg's jury named "The Life of Adele" tops of the festival. The three-hour coming-of-age tale, by Tunisian-born director Abdellatif Kechiche, emerged as a landmark film not for its lengthy, graphic sex scenes, but for its tender intimacy. It won the Palme on the same day thousands marched in Paris protesting France's recent legalization of gay marriage.

The global stage of Cannes immediately catapults Kechiche to greater international renown, inducting him into the prestigious group of Palme d'Or winners, from Francis Ford Coppola to Terrence Malick.

But this year's festival boasted many breakout stars, including the two daring actresses of "Life of Adele," Adele Exarchopoulos and Lea Seydoux, who, in a twist, also shared in the Palme d'Or. As a bitter, sarcastic 1960s folk singer in "Llewyn Davis," newcomer Oscar Isaac also shined in Cannes' spotlight.

Familiar faces turned in some of their best work including Berenice Bejo, as a single mother juggling a new man and an old one in Asghar Farhadi's shifting domestic drama "The Past"; Kristin Stewart Thomas, as Lady Macbeth meets Donatella Versace in the stylish Bangkok noir "Only God Forgives"; and Bruce Dern, as a gruff, aging father in Alexander Payne's black-and-white Midwest road trip "Nebraska."

Screenings at Cannes begin with the festival intro of red steps ascending from the sea up to the heavens, but for the first half of Cannes, it felt as though the festival was stuck underwater. Constant rains dampened the French Riviera atmosphere in the early days, and the films – though full of intriguing entries – didn't quite catch until the Coens premiered their melancholy story of a frustrated artist passed over by history.

Reality also threatened to overshadow the movies. On the same night as the premiere of Sofia Coppola's "The Bling Ring," a film about Los Angeles teenagers who rob the houses of celebrities, news broke that $1 million worth of jewelry had been stolen in a Cannes hotel. Never mind that its value turned out to be significantly less: The world had already conjured cinematic images of Cary Grant nimbly tiptoeing on Riviera rooftops.

Hollywood's noisiest intruder was "Catching Fire," the "Hunger Games" sequel that used Cannes' platform to stir up worldwide fervor for the next installment of the Jennifer Lawrence blockbuster.

American films – including those by the Coens, Payne, Jarmusch, Soderbergh and Gray – were among some of the best entries at the festival. "Inside Llewyn Davis," "Nebraska" and perhaps the Ellis Island melodrama "The Immigrant" will likely be players in this fall's Oscar season.

Soderbergh's "Behind the Candelabra" marks the director's final film, at least for a time, as he's withdrawing from filmmaking. Soderbergh, whose film was broadcast on HBO, is planning to work more in television – an arena many directors discussed in Cannes, claiming its quality and cultural relevance now equals or even surpasses movies.

While that may be true in many parts of the world, it isn't in Cannes. At the annual glamour fest, the big screen – and all its varied vitality – still reigns supreme.

Where Is Punky Brewster Now?

A quarter century ago, on May 27, 1988, fans said goodbye to the freckle-faced, mismatched, puppy-loving titular character of "Punky Brewster."

The series ended with the only family left in Punky's life -- her golden retriever Brandon -- getting married to his fellow canine Brenda in the courtyard of their apartment building. Kibble was thrown, boas were worn and barks sounded throughout Chicago. Check out a clip below.

The show may have only lasted four seasons, but "Punky Brewster" left a lasting impression and made pre-teen Soleil Moon Frye, who played the little leading lady, a household name.

In 1989, she co-hosted "Girl Talk," based on the board game of the same name and co-starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, but the show only lasted one season.

After a decade of being known only as Punky Brewster, Frye made her triumphant return to TV in Season 5 of "Sabrina, The Teenage Witch." She'd had stints on "The Wonder Years," "Saved by the Bell" and "Friends," but the then-WB series made her a series regular again. On the show's final three seasons, Frye played Roxie King, Sabrina's very close friend and mortal roommate during her college years, playing opposite her longtime friend and series producer Melissa Joan Hart.

After the show ended in 2003, Frye turned her focus to motherhood. She and her husband Jason Goldberg, a television producer, have two daughters: seven-year-old Poet Sienna Rose and five-year-old Jagger Joseph Blue. She's since worked on children's projects, voicing Jade in the "Bratz" franchise and Aseefa in "Planet Sheen," the 2010 spinoff of "The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius."

In 2011, Frye released her first book "Happy Chaos: From Punky to Parenting and My Perfectly Imperfect Adventures in Between." The mom of two, who has nearly 1.5 million followers on Twitter, has another book coming out later this year called "Let's Get This Party Started: DIY Celebrations for You and Your Kids to Create Together."

Trump Reportedly Exploring Presidential Bid... Again

Real estate mogul Donald Trump has spent over $1 million exploring a potential presidential bid in 2016, the New York Post reports.

The billionaire, who repeatedly teased running for the 2012 Republican nomination only to stay out of the race, has reportedly spent the cash to research interest in his potential bid in each state.

“The electoral research was commissioned. We did not spend $1 million on this research for it just to sit on my bookshelf,” Trump's special counsel Michael Cohen told the Post. “At this point Mr. Trump has not made any decision on a political run, but what I would say is that he is exactly what this country needs. The turnout at these political speeches indicates his following remains very strong and is growing.“

Trump, who sparked controversy in 2011 with his calls for President Barack Obama to release his birth certificate, has already started to make the rounds at GOP events.

Last week, he spoke at a Republican Party dinner in Michigan. Prior to the event, Trump threw cold water on the idea jumping in the race, telling attendees at a pre-dinner conference that it was "highly unlikely."

“Everybody tells me, ‘Please run for president. Please run for president.’ I would be much happier if a great and competent person came along. I’d be happy if President Obama did a great job. I’m a Republican, but before anything, I love this country,” he said, according to the Advisor & Source. “I would love to see somebody come in who is going to be great.”

Tragic Family News

ESCONDIDO, Calif. -- Less than two weeks after Angelina Jolie revealed she'd had a double mastectomy to avoid breast cancer, her aunt died from the disease Sunday.

Debbie Martin died at age 61 at a hospital in Escondido, Calif., near San Diego, her husband, Ron Martin, told The Associated Press.

Debbie Martin was the younger sister of Jolie's mother, Marcheline Bertrand, whose own death from ovarian cancer in 2007 inspired the surgery that Jolie described in a May 14 op-ed in the New York Times.

According to her husband, Debbie Martin had the same defective BRCA1 gene that Jolie does, but didn't know it until after her 2004 cancer diagnosis.

"Had we known, we certainly would have done exactly what Angelina did," Ron Martin said in a phone interview.

Debbie Martin's death was first reported by E! News.

Ron Martin said after getting breast cancer, Debbie Martin had her ovaries removed preventively because she was also at very high genetic risk for ovarian cancer, which has killed several women in her family.

The 37-year-old Jolie said in her op-ed that her doctors estimated that she had a 50 percent risk of getting ovarian cancer but an 87 percent risk of breast cancer.

She had her breasts removed first, reducing her likelihood to a mere 5 percent.

She described the three-step surgical process in detail in the op-ed "because I hope that other women can benefit from my experience."

The story, a surprise to most save those closest to Jolie, spurred a broad discussion of genetic testing and pre-emptive surgery.

A message left with representatives seeking comment from Jolie was not immediately returned.

Don & Betty?!

Spoiler alert: Do not read on if you haven't seen Sunday night's "The Better Half" episode of "Mad Men."

Don Draper's affairs came totally full circle in Sunday night's "The Better Half" episode of "Mad Men." It was visting day at Bobby's camp, and with neither Megan or Henry there for first night of the weekend, one thing led to another and exes Don and Betty ended up in bed together, just like old times.

But this time around, a newly-slim Betty had the upper hand. She claimed she was happy in her current marriage and even sympathized with Megan. “That poor girl. She doesn’t know that loving you is the worst way to get to you,” she whispered. And when Don woke up, he found his ex-wife eating breakfast with her current husband.

The rendezvous was weird, but probably inevitable. BuddyTV found Betty and Don to be surprisingly cordial -- but loved that Betty got to get under Don’s skin a little bit.

Collider agreed, calling the post hook-up diss Betty’s best moment in series history. As TVLine put it, Betty got her groove back.

Vanessa Hudgens & Ashley Tisdale Strip Down

Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale know what makes for a great Memorial Day celebration.

The former Disney stars and BFFs struck a patriotic pose, giving a salute while they donned tiny bikinis at Tisdale's Memorial Day BBQ.

Hudgens, 24, made sure not to soak up too much sun by wearing a floppy black hat, high-waisted black maxi skirt, and paisley kaftan that matched her bikini. Tisdale on the other hand, was all about working on her tan and showed off her already tawny skin in a pink and white striped bandeau top and white short shorts.

"BBQ at my house celebrating #memorialday @vanessahudgens," the 27-year-old wrote when she posted the photo of the pair enjoying the holiday to her Instagram account.

Hudgens posted the same photo to her own Instagram account and wrote: "God bless the freedom warriors that have fought for our country. Happy Memorial Day."

While reports are circulating stating that the LAPD may look into Chris Brown’s recent fender bender as a possible hit and run investigation, the R&B singer is also experiencing turmoil within his camp.

According to a Tweet on Monday evening, the “Fine China” crooner took aim at his management for delaying the release of his highly anticipated sixth album, “X,” which was originally slated to hit stores on July 16.

“My management is so incompetent at times that they don't communicate,” he tweeted. “So teambreezy.. Blame these Wack n---as for the release being moved.”

Although the singer retracted his thoughts by deleting the tweet, he later tweeted:

Chris Brown’s label, RCA has yet to release an official statement regarding the new release date for, "X."

Even Celebs Went Through an Awkward Stage...

It's hard to believe that picture-perfect Gwyneth Paltrow ever went through an awkward stage.

Thankfully, we've got the yearbook photos to prove it!

Indeed, before Shakespeare in Love, her marriage to Coldplay hubby Chris Martin, and her multitude of low-carb cookbooks and lifestyle guides, Paltrow was just like the rest of us, sporting braces and making a silly face for her 1997 yearbook photo.

A few years later, in 1999, it looks like Gwynnie went through a rebellious stage; that yearbook photo shows the Oscar-winning actress in a biker jacket, hoop earrings, and cheekily blowing bubblegum.

Gwyneth isn't the only star to have undergone a dramatic style transformation since her high school days. Was Megan Fox always so foxy? Would you recognize Blake Lively from just a few years ago? Our very own Avril Lavigne has certainly come a long way from her suburban roots in Napanee.

Kelly Osbourne: 'I Need A Golden Globe'

It's hard to remember a time before "Fashion Police." Without the snarky E! show, where would we go to dissect every red carpet fashion moment? How would we know what we thought about celebrity style without Joan Rivers and Kelly Osbourne weighing in first?

So perhaps it's about time "Fashion Police" got a Golden Globe. Kelly tells Cosmopolitan in a new interview that she's personally gunning for an award:

It's not only Fashion Police -– you have so much going on these days. What do you want going forward?

Happiness and a Golden Globe. What? I'm fabulous. I need a Golden Globe. What is life if you’re not going to live it to the fullest? People think this is my 15 minutes. Fuck you. I've got an hour.

Leave it to Kelly to always speak her mind. To be fair, the "Fashion Police" host has demonstrated a serious commitment to the show in the form of her purple hair, which Kelly said is contractually required by her E! bosses. It's also worth noting that "Fashion Police" is one of E!'s highest-rated shows, presumably due in part to Kelly's headline-making ways.

Those headline-making ways, however, have caused more than a few controversies. Think the Hollywood Foreign Press Association will reward the TV host with a Golden Globe someday?

'The Glades': Callie Finally Gives Jim An Answer

Fans have been waiting nine months for the "Glades" Season 4 premiere after last season left viewers hanging when Callie didn't say yes or no to Jim's proposal.

The premiere had the audience on the edge of their seats because we didn't get Callie's answer to Jim's big Season 3 finale question until the very end of the "Glades" Season 4 premiere.

"I just want you to know that this is the hardest decision that I have ever had to make in my entire life ... And I have worked so hard to get where I am," Callie told Jim, before finally saying yes.

"I really hope Jim and Callie can figure out how to make the relationship work with her in Atlanta," TVFanatic's Jim Garner wrote. "I would suggest he look for a spot on the police force there, but somehow, I doubt they would let him carry a putter around every crime scene and run his own show like he does now."

The cast tells BuddyTV the engagement is just the start of revealing a lot more about the characters personal lives.

"The Glades" airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on A&E.
