Andy Samberg Is 'The Mixologist' On 'Portlandia'

$

Andy Samberg, Fred Armisen's co-star and buddy from "Saturday Night Live" stopped by his other sketch comedy show, "Portlandia" (Fri., 10 p.m. EST on IFC), for its second season premiere. In a recurring sketch throughout the episode, Andy was "the mixologist," a character Carrie Brownstein's character fell for after he made her a crazy drink with all kinds of ingredients ... but most importantly, love.

She countered with a mixed tape, only to find that he'd moved to SoCal, where he became just another bartender. She and Fred headed for California, where they quickly discovered their Oregonian ways don't fit in (what is with all the sun?!). Even worse, Carrie found that Andy was so distracted by the blonde beauties, he didn't even remember her.

So in the most obvious way to get Andy Samberg's attention, Carrie broke out into a song about Portland. Andy quickly followed suit, and agreed to return with her to Portland, their love reaffirmed. Perhaps he'll become a recurring character, as the sketches on this show tend to recur throughout the season, and this one is based mostly on Fred and Carrie as themselves.

It's a strong showing, and one of several guest stars for the upcoming season. The good news is that according to critic Maureen Ryan, the better episodes are yet to come in what she calls a much-improved second season for the show.

The ten-episode second season of "Portlandia" continues each Friday at 10 p.m. EST on IFC.

PHOTOS: What Elvis Loved About LA

All shook up? Ready to retrace the steps of your favorite hunka hunka burnin' love? Elvis Presley was born on January 8, 1935, which means he would've turned 77 this year, not really that old at all. He was the King of Rock & Roll, the Godfather of Graceland and an icon whose legend will live on forever. Here are a handful of places where you would have seen Elvis Presley in Los Angeles back in the day … and a few where you can honor his memory today. (Yes, at least one of them involves a peanut butter, banana and bacon sandwich.)

Beverly Wilshire Hotel - Beverly Hills
This gorgeous and iconic hotel might be cited ad nauseum as the "Pretty Woman" hotel, but long before the hooker fairy tale put this place on the movie map, the King called it home when he was busy making movies at Paramount Studios. Years later, John Lennon stayed here while he was estranged from Yoko, allegedly choosing the hotel because he knew Elvis had lived there.

The Knickerbocker Hotel - Hollywood
Elvis has left the building. But before he did, he used to stay at the Knickerbocker Hotel (Room 1016, to be exact), which was his home-away-from-home when he filmed his first movie, "Love Me Tender," in 1956. (It's also where Marilyn Monroe honeymooned with Joe Dimaggio a couple of years before that.) Unfortunately, this historic building on Ivar has been on the outs for some time and is now a senior apartment building.

The Formosa Cafe - West Hollywood
Where else can you have a Mai Tais in Elvis's red leather booth than at the Formosa Cafe? This historic landmark on Santa Monica Boulevard, located right next to a movie studio, is where the King -- along with just about every other famous person imaginable -- would hang out while in town filming movies, doing press junkets and all that sort of stuff. Just take a look at the autographed photos on the walls if you don't believe it.

De Neve Square Park - Holmby Hills
Aside from gyrating on stage, Elvis had some serious moves on the field. This small, well-shaded park in the old-money hamlet of Holmby Hills might not grab your attention if you're driving along Beverly Glen (it's at an intersection where Mapleton Drive and Parkwood Drive meet), but that might be why Elvis chose it for the touch football games he regularly organized in the 50s and 60s while here in LA -- it allowed him to have fun without getting noticed. FYI, in case you're wondering, the park is named after Felipe de Neve, founder of Los Angeles.

Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine - Pacific Palisades
Better known as Lake Shrine, this tranquil ten-acre oasis hidden off Sunset Boulevard near PCH hasn't changed much since the days when Elvis would come here to meditate and be surrounded by nature. He was a frequent visitor and it's considered common knowledge that he became friends with then worldwide head, Sri Daya Mata, whom he called 'Ma' and relied upon for spiritual advice. You can still come here today to enjoy the peaceful environment filled with swans swimming across the lake, lush landscaping, waterfalls, fountains, spiritual statues, colorful gardens and even a windmill chapel.

AND THE KING LIVES ON ...

Palm’s Thai Restaurant - Hollywood
Thai food + Thai Elvis = Only in LA.

Grammy Museum - Downtown LA
January 2012 is Elvis Month at this music museum featuring special events, curator lectures and free Elvis evening classes.

Which Wich - Los Angeles
This sandwich shop chain is where you can eat like a King. Just order the Elvis Wich made with peanut butter, bacon, honey and banana.

Jacks N Joe - Los Angeles
This breakfast-all-day joint near USC is where to get the Pudgie Elvis: three pancakes with peanut butter and bananas. Thank you, thank you very much.

MB Post - Manhattan Beach
This South Bay hot spot is where you can finish your meal with The Elvis: a wonderful mess of chocolate pudding, peanut butter mousse and bacon brittle.

Violet's Cakes - Pasadena
Stuff your face with the Elvis cupcake made with banana cake and peanut butter frosting. Just remember you can only get it on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

KIM KARDASHIAN = HIPSTER.

OK, maybe not. But Kim was seen in Beverly Hills yesterday trying on a pair of black, thick-rimmed glasses, a totally different style for the typically glamorous reality star.

Does this mean the Kim is really heeding our style advice? Is she branching out and trying a less excessively-groomed look? Are the glasses the next step, after her awesome blunt bangs from New Year's Eve?

Alas, it seems as though Kim's foray into hipsterdom, like Anne Hathaway's, is fleeting. Not only are the bangs she sported on New Year's not permanent (seeing as the star is already bangs-less a week later), but after leaving the glasses shop Kim was back to her normal self: black stilettos, a strong-shouldered blazer and those shiny, oversized sunnies.

Whether she was toting the prescription frames in those shopping bags, we're not sure. But we've got our fingers crossed!

What do you think of Kim in the oversized specs?

'Party Down' Movie Is Happening, Star Confirms

Party time is on its way. Just don't expect a great feast.

Long rumored and teased, the big screen continuation of the cult hit Starz comedy "Party Down" is on its way, series star Megan Mullally confirmed on Sunday. Mullally revealed that John Enblom, the series' co-creator, is in the midst of writing the script.

The news is yet another juicy morsel for fans of the show, which ran for two seasons in 2009 and 2010. Starring Adam Scott as the aforementioned Pollard, a failed actor who is employed by the subpar Party Down catering service, the series also featured Lizzy Caplan, Martin Starr, Ryan Hansen, Ken Marino and Mullally as his miserable co-workers. Jane Lynch appeared in season one; Mullally replaced her in season two.

"I think we're going to see Lydia's ex-husband -- Ed I think is his name --- who was really racist and a misogynist," Mullally said of her character Lydia's storyline in the work-in-progress script.

Since its cancellation, various cast members have hinted that they are both willing and in talks to turn the series into a film.

In April, Caplan told The Huffington Post that "It's something that we all really want to do. People are busy with their television shows and whatnot, but it's definitely something that we all want to do, so I think we'll do everything we can to make it happen."

That progressed to co-creator Rob Thomas telling an audience at the Alamo Draft House in August that "We are pretty far down the deal-making process... Ideally, if it works out we could be shooting in television hiatus time next spring. Hopefully that deal will close, and we'll all tweet about it when it does."

Scott told Marc Maron in November that another production company was interested in making the film and that they were waiting on Starz to give the okay.

"I don't know if Jane [Lynch] will do it, we'll certainly invite her, but I'm not sure," he said of the cast for the film. "But definitely the Season 2 cast, which is all of us and Megan Mullally."

In August, a few of the cast members reunited for a very short scene in the Adult Swim show "Children's Hospital," on which Marino is a star.

Ryan Seacrest: Can't Imagine Life Without 'Idol'

Is Ryan Seacrest's TV future still up in the air?

The "American Idol" host told reporters at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that he can't comment on the rumors that he's heading for NBC's "Today," which surfaced earlier in December.

He did, however, hint that he is devoted to the Fox reality singing competition show. "I can't imagine life without 'American Idol,'" he said, according to a tweet from TV Guide.

When Seacrest was asked if he'd consider hosting NBC's "The Voice," he brought his point home, according to another TV Guide tweet. "I only see myself hosting 'Idol,'" he told reporters.

Mike Darnell, Fox's president of alternative entertainment, added, "Our expectation is that Ryan will stay with the show," according to TV Line's Matt Mitovich via Twitter.

Time will tell if that expectation is upheld, but Seacrest seems to think he can handle it all. "I like to juggle balls ... Career balls," he joked to reporters, according to The Hollywood Reporter's Lacey Rose via Twitter.

'Oprah's Next Chapter': Pastor Joel Osteen On Homosexuality And Sin

Pastor Joel Osteen reaches millions through his sermons, and he tries to preach in a more positive way than some of his notable contemporaries. But because he doesn't focus on sin in his sermons doesn't mean that he doesn't believe in it. He clarified his stance on sin, and particularly homosexuality, on "Oprah's Next Chapter" (Sun., 9 p.m. EST on OWN).

"Sometimes we look at gay being a bigger sin than being proud or not telling the truth," Osteen said. "I don't think God categorizes sins." While he sounded almost reluctant to come out and say it directly to Oprah Winfrey, Osteen did confirm that he sees homosexualty as a sin, based on what he's read in scripture. But his point is that it isn't necessarily a bigger sin than so many others, and therefore perhaps it shouldn't be emphasized and sensationalized as such.

He also said that he believes homosexuals can get into Heaven, just as other people with sin in them can. Forgiveness is a big part, but "To think that we're all going to be without one sin?" Osteen mused. "I hope that's true, but I don't think any of us would make it to Heaven.

"it's a hard thing in a sense because I'm for everybody. I'm not against anybody. I don't think anybody's second class," Osteen said. He'll be showing this in his reality television endeavor with Mark Burnett, spotlighting mission trips undertaken by his Lakewood Church.

"Oprah's Next Chapter" continues every Sunday night at 9 p.m. EST on OWN.

Adele Confirms Comeback Performance

It's official: Adele will make her public singing comeback next month. Exactly when, however, is the question.

The Grammy-winning pop star suffered from vocal illness that led her to cancel tour dates in October and eventually forced her to undergo surgery in November to stop recurrent bleeding from a benign polyp in her vocal cords. On Thursday, it was announced that the "Rolling in the Deep" singer was both nominated for three BRIT Awards and would perform at the show in London on February 21st.

"fucking happy, thank you for the nods xx" she tweeted after the announcement.

Whether the London show will be her comeback, however, remains to be seen; she is reportedly scheduled to appear at the Grammy Awards on February 12th, and has been asked to perform there, as well. However, sources have reported that she won't be able to confirm her singing availability until the beginning of that month. An ABC News Radio report goes further into the medical specifics of what it would take for someone who underwent her sort of surgery to come back in time for the Grammys.

The 23-year old is known for her moving award show performances. She stunned with "Someone Like You" at the 2011 VMAs, while her performance at the 2009 BRIT Awards helped launch her star.

One thing is for sure: with six Grammy nominations and three BRIT nods, she should be singing for joy when the winners are announced.

WATCH: Was James Dean Gay? New Biopic Portrays Actor's Alleged Trysts With Men

Speculation over the true nature of James Dean's sexuality has, of course, been rampant among movie critics and fans for decades. But now, a new biopic aims to cast a different light on the private life of the iconic "Rebel Without a Cause" star.

Directed by Matthew Mishory (hailed by French magazine Les Inrocks as "a new hope of American indie cinema," according to IMDB), the upcoming "Joshua Tree, 1951: A Portait of James Dean" shows the actor (played by James Preston) making love to a male roommate (Dan Glenn) in a corridor, and in an intimate mountaintop embrace with yet another male character.

The film's website touts "Joshua Tree" as "redefining James Dean for a new generation." Eagle-eyed viewers will also spot "Queer as Folk" star Robert Gant, credited by IMDB as "the Famous Director," in the new clip.

Of course, the film is hardly the first such implication, with new reports of Dean's alleged trysts with fellow stars Rock Hudson, Clifton Webb, Bill Bast, and Jack Simmons emerging every few years or so.

Halle's NOT Engaged?

Maybe Halle Berry isn't officially off the market ... yet.

Even though Olivier Martinez' ex-girlfriend Kylie Minogue tweeted to congratulate her ex, some say the bling spotted spotted on Halle's finger is not an engagement ring.

According to TMZ's sources, Martinez did give the actress the emerald and diamond ring as a gift, but it "positively is not a symbol of getting engaged."

The couple are in a "committed relationship" and marriage "could be in the cards," but there are no plans to get married at this time.

The guessing game continues as Berry's continues to wear the gift on her left ring finger, the digit normally dedicated to an engagement ring. Reps for Berry declined to comment when asked about the engagement, but reps for the the jeweler who made the ring had confirmed the pair were indeed engaged.

Berry has been divorced twice and has a three-year-old daughter, named Nahla, with her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. She met Martinez in 2010, when they worked as co-stars on the film "Dark Tide," which is set to be released later this year.

Cathleen Falsani: Justin Bieber's Ecce Homo

Now, before you sprain an optic nerve rolling your eyes, let me begin by saying, "Yes."

Yes, I realize that the vast majority of HuffPost readers do not fall within young Mr. Bieber's target demographic.

Many of you likely are asking yourselves (perhaps out loud, as we adults are wont to do), "Who the heck is Justin Bieber and why should I care?"

But please indulge me for a few more sentences before you click over to "Seven Sites I Should Be Wasting Time on Right Now" or something similar.

You might not have a clue who Bieber is. Or, if you are aware of the existence of the crown prince of Stratford, Ontario, you might not give two hoots about him. But I'm guessing that there is a young person in your life who does.

So, for the sake of the children, please hear me out.

2012-01-11-vmagazinebieber.jpg

Justin Drew Bieber, age 17 ¾, is a Canadian pop singer and, without a doubt, the most popular teenager on the planet. (I am not exaggerating.) You may have heard his earworm hit single, "Baby." To refresh your memory, the chorus goes like this: "Baby, baby, baby OH! Baby, baby, baby NO!"

Perhaps you've heard it in recent weeks while shopping at the mall or emanating from your daughter/granddaughter/niece/little-sister's bedroom (or her Justin Bieber singing toothbrush in the bathroom. Yes, that's a real thing. I have one. Well, two, if I'm going to be completely honest about it.)

Justin also happens to be, to use a popular bit of Christianese, a "believer" -- and quite an outspoken one at that.

It is entirely possible that Justin has more of an influence in the young-person-you-love's life than any clergyperson -- living or dead -- does. That sounds scandalous, I know, but it's true.

That is part of the reason why it might be helpful to know a bit more about him -- and his burgeoning faith.

The lad's faith was explored to a certain extent in his record-setting hit documentary film, "Never Say Never," which is the second highest-grossing feature-length doc in U.S. history, right behind "March of the Penguins" and one place above Michael Jackson's posthumous "This Is It."

In his world tour last year, Justin grossed something in the neighborhood of $53 million. He sold out Madison Square garden in 22 minutes, and his first three albums (he only has the three so far) debuted at No. 1 on the charts.

He is an uber-celebrity, with more than 16 million followers on Twitter, more than 39 million fans on Facebook and his channel on YouTube has been viewed more than 81 million times since his mother set up the account five years ago next week. He's even sung for the President -- four times, most recently during the annual Christmas in Washington concert. (Sasha and Malia Obama are huge fans.)

In fact, Justin was discovered on YouTube. It's part of the Bieber legend (albeit a true part) that the legion Beliebers, as his fans are called, know by heart. His is a modern-day Cinderfella story, one that, even if you divorce his faith from it (though that would be nearly impossible), is patently inspiring.

Here's the short version: Justin was born on March 1, 1994 to Pattie Mallette (then 17) and Jeremy Bieber (then 19), who were engaged at the time of their son's birth but never married and split when he was an infant. He always has lived with his mother, who raised him as a single parent in Stratford (home of that famous Shakespeare festival), but his father, who has since married and has two young children, always has been a part of his life.

Mallette had a difficult childhood and troubled teen years, but had what she has described publicly as a visceral encounter with Jesus Christ not long before she became pregnant with her only child, and committed her life to Christ. She raised Justin in an evangelical Christian church, where she was involved deeply in its prayer ministry and music.

As a toddler, Justin would accompany his mother to music rehearsals and "jams" with musician friends from their church, and it was during this time that he first showed rather preternatural musical ability. By the time he was in grade school, Justin had taught himself to play the piano, guitar and drums. (He also plays trumpet.) And he had a soulful voice well beyond his years.

But Justin seemingly was more interested in sports than music for most of his childhood, until five years ago, when he surprised Mallette by asking for her permission to enter a talent contest at a local youth center. (He placed third.) Like so many of us parents do, Mallette captured Justin's performances on a hand-held camera and posted the amateur videos to YouTube, so out-of-town family could see them.

As the months passed, however, Justin and his mother noticed the YouTube "hits" counter climb into the hundreds and then thousands. It was obvious that the youngster's musical stylings had reached an audience far beyond his extended family. Eventually, a young music producer in Atlanta, Scooter Braun, stumbled onto the videos, and quickly became convinced that Justin had real talent and potential.

Braun tracked down Mallette in Canada and cold called her. She wanted nothing to do with her only child entering the frightening world of professional music. But Braun, who is a religious Jew, convinced her to give him a chance. Even though they didn't share the same spiritual tradition, Braun spoke the language of faith and shared Mallette's fundamental commitments to God and family. After praying for discernment with church elders, mother and son flew to Atlanta (their first time on a plane), met Braun and the rest, as they say, is history.

Justin didn't go looking for fame or fortune. They found him. He's not a product of the Disney machine or a prefab package constructed by a team of marketing geniuses at Nickelodeon. Nor is he a Hollywood scion who inherited his celebrity as a birthright.

He was -- and to a certain extent still is -- a regular kid, if one with blessed with extraordinary talent and audacious divine favor.

Despite his unfathomable fame (and all that it brings, for better and for worse), Justin seems to have stayed firmly grounded. You don't find paparazzi photos of him stumbling drunk out of a nightclub or behaving in an untoward fashion, like so many other young celebrities. He is basically a nice kid. Respectful. Hard working. Kind, gracious and generous. And he doesn't take himself too seriously.

His fans know this. They know his story, feel a kinship with him -- "If it could happen to him it could happen to me -- never say never!" is a familiar Belieber refrain -- and are passionately protective of him as a result.

Justin has never been shy about his faith, whether in interviews, in his film, his autobiography published last year, on the red carpet or during awards shows. (Last year, while accepting a Kids' Choice Award, he turned to the audience and said, "Jesus loves every one of you!") That said, to my ear he is most articulate about his faith not through anything he says, but in what he does, which includes vast charitable endeavors on behalf of children and the poor, and a constant litany of tweets expressing his gratitude (to God, his family and his fans) or urging his followers to, as he says, "#payitforward" and "#makeachange."

He is, in a sense, laying the groundwork for an awareness of the social gospel for a generation that will, sooner than we realize, become leaders in our society and our world.

As he approaches his 18th birthday, Justin's public expressions of faith have become more frequent and even more personal. Last week, the world discovered that he'd had a large portait of Jesus -- the classic "Ecce Homo" Jesus with a crown of thorns and upturned eyes -- tattooed on the back of his leg. It's his third tattoo, joining the black Hebrew letters for "YESHUA" on his rib cage that he had inked last year on a trip to Israel and the small outline of a seagull on his waist, a 16th birthday present that matches one his father bears in the same location.

I don't think getting a good-sized tattoo of the Ecce Homo on the back of his leg was a choice that is going to win him too many new fans -- especially among the parents who make up his largest shadow demographic fan base. (Next to teen and tween girls, women 35 to 50, I believe, is his next largest fan group. In other words, the Moms.) I dare say it was decidedly not a strategic marketing move designed by Team Bieber and exhaustively tested in focus groups.

It seems to me that it is an authentic expression of his growing, maturing and evolving faith. Some kids his age -- depending on their predilections -- might get a huge tat of indecipherable Chinese characters or of Stewie from "The Family Guy." Justin chose a classic depiction of Jesus. If he's going to make choices about permanent body art at 17, at least he's making meaningful ones.

When I was Justin's age, I was beginning to move away from simply mimicking my parents' faith and beliefs, and making them my own. I think that's what we're seeing him do now, whether it's in his choice of body art or in how he has, in recent months, been more explicitly vocal (unprompted, largely) about his faith.

What I appreciate most about Justin's expressions of faith is that the lack the tenor of triumphalism and, to a certain extent, tribalism that is all too common among his peers and co-religionists. His is a nuanced articulation of faith, which speaks both to how genuine it is and how it is evolving and becoming his own.

Listen to what he says in his latest interview, with Elliott David of V Magazine, that hits newsstands Thursday (Jan. 12):

ED You're working so hard. As you said, this consumes your life. So what do you look to for strength? I know you are religious, right?

JB I don't think I'm religious. I am spiritual. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins. I believe that he put me in this position, and that I have to always give him the glory he deserves for putting me here. But I don't consider myself religious. A lot of people who are religious, I feel like they get lost. They go to church just to go to church. I am not trying to disrespect them at all, you know, whatever works for you; but for me, I focus more on praying and talking to Him. I don't have to go to church. I haven't been to church in a long time, but I know I have a relationship with Him. People can be like, "If you don't go to church, what do you mean, how are you a Christian?" But I am. I talk to Him, and that's all.

ED I read that your mom said she had a personal encounter with God, and she believes you are here to inspire and brighten the world. When you talk to Him, do you feel like you have a personal encounter, or are you just expressing how you feel?

JB You know, my ma has always had God around me, has always made it really apparent. She never pushed it on me, but she always brought me to church and she put me in Sunday school. When I was little, I did these things: "prophetic words," which is sort of like fortune telling, but from God. They said in one of those tapes -- when I was really young -- that I was going to be the voice of the new generation. So, I don't know what that means. It could just mean that I'm here to make music and inspire people. That's all I know. I just want to be able to be a good influence on people. I know I'm going to make mistakes, because I'm young and I still love to have fun. I'm not perfect. I think everyone makes mistakes, and that's what life's about, you know?

Justin is at once a reflection and shaper of his generation. (A recent survey of "Millennials," i.e. kids Justin's age, found that 72 percent claim to be "more spiritual than religious," a phenomenon that one mega-church pastor called "more spiritually honest.")

But does he have a prophetic call? Is Justin Bieber the voice of a generation?

I'm inclined to believe both may be true.

Whether you are starting believe it as well, or have gone back to rolling your eyes, doesn't really matter. Divinely called, or just plain lucky, the lad's voice is reaching millions of kids around the globe.

And they're listening. Perhaps the rest of us pay attention, too.

Class is now in session at the school of rock.

Eddie Van Halen (of Van Halen hard rock fame) just donated 75 of his own personal guitars to the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, a national organization that promotes music education for children.

In a statement, the guitarist simply explained, "Music kept me off the streets and out of trouble and gave me something that was mine that no one could take away from me."

Van Halen also acknowledged that his immense success motivated him to give more children a chance at self-fulfillment through music. " If I can help a kid discover a liking, or even a passion for music in their life, then that's a wonderful thing. Music has provided a good life for me and hopefully it can help make life better for others with this donation."

The generous gift, which will be dispersed among 7 Los Angeles schools at Van Halen's request, is already making an impact. Michael Flores, a student at Garfield High, tried out one of the guitars and told CBS2, "I think its great ... Compared to what I played in the beginning, this sounds amazing."

Watch CBS2's video report of Van Halen's impact on Garfield High School and check out CBS2 for the full story.

The Associated Press reports that Van Halen instructed staffers at Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation that the guitars were to be used in schools, not sold -- and the lucky schools who received them weren't told who donated them until the day they arrived. Hopefully the guitars will be kept secure under lock and key when students aren't using them, as the Foundation recommended.

It's been a rough week for Khloe Kardashian. She's been ensnared in a paternity controversy after Robert Kardashian's ex-wife claimed that she might not actually be a Kardashian. And now comes the ultimate insult: she and her family have been banned from Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show "Anderson." At least, that's what Cooper told "Watch What Happens Live" host Andy Cohen during a game of "Plead the 5th" on his show Sunday night.

Cohen stopped by "CBS Morning" (7 a.m. EST on CBS) on Thursday to tell the story of how Cooper barred the Kardashians. While playing the game, Cohen presents his guests with three questions, and they can only choose to abstain from answering one. When Cohen forced Cooper to choose one guest he'd ban from his show forever, he chose the entire Kardashian clan. Adding insult to injury, it was minutes after Khloe had tweeted how much she loved the silver-haired newsman. It's probably best to keep in mind that later in the segment, Cooper demonstrated how to use a Shake-Weight, so it's quite possible that this "ban" was all in jest. Only time will tell.

NEW YORK — Lil Wayne is offering a literary tour of his prison days.

The million-selling rapper has signed with Grand Central Publishing, a division of Hachette Book Group, for the memoir "Gone Till November." Hachette announced Thursday that the book will tell of his eight months spent at the Rikers Island complex on a gun possession charge. Scheduled to come out in November, two years after his release, the book will be an "internal monologue," based on diaries he kept while in prison.

Born Dwayne Carter Jr., Lil Wayne had the best-selling album of 2008 with "Tha Carter III," which won a best rap album Grammy.

Wes Anderson is back.

The writer-director has released the first trailer to "Moonrise Kingdom," his first live action film since 2007's "Darjeeling Limited." Returning a number of stars that frequent his films and introducing some new big names, the film tells the story of a young boy and girl who run away together and spring a hapless crew of adults on a wild search to find them.

Jason Schwartzman and Bill Murray carry the torch from previous Anderson films, while Harvey Keitel, Bruce Willis, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton and Edward Norton are the newcomers.

The film introduces Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward as the two children in what seems to be the first functional young relationship in any of Anderson's films. In "Rushmore," Jason Schwartzman chases a much older teacher; in "The Royal Tenenbaums," Luke Wilson pines over Gwyneth Paltrow for years.

With his signature retro style and quirky dialogue, the film looks to be strong return to live action after Anderson's 2009's stop motion animation film, "The Fantastic Mr. Fox."
