David R. Ellis, the director of "Snakes on a Plane," died in South Africa on Monday. He was 60.

Deadline.com first reported Ellis' death, which HuffPost Entertainment confirmed with his management. No other information about his passing was immediately available. The director was in Johannesburg to work on the film "Kite," a live-action reboot of the famed Japanese anime about a young girl trained to be an assassin after the death of her parents. Samuel L. Jackson, who starred in Ellis' "Snakes on a Plane," was attached to star.

Ellis got his start in Hollywood as a stuntman on films like "Smokey and the Bandit II," "Rocky III" and "Lethal Weapon." He did second unit directorial work on "Clear and Present Danger," "Waterworld," "The Perfect Storm," "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" and "The Matrix Reloaded."

Ellis made his directorial debut with the 1996 "Homeward Bound 2: Lost in San Francisco," and followed that with another sequel, "Final Destination 2." The 2003 film earned $90 million worldwide. He later directed "Cellular" (with Chris Evans) and the aforementioned "Snakes on a Plane." The R-rated film was an internet sensation thanks to its literal title and classic lead performance from Jackson (sample dialogue: "I have had it with these motherf--king snakes on this motherf--king plane"). "Snakes on a Plane" earned $62 million worldwide.

Ellis' last film was the 3D release "Shark Night" in 2011. He also did second unit work on 2013 releases "R.I.P.D." and "47 Ronin."

We all know Penelope Cruz can dance and act -- and now she's shown that she can also definitely sing.

As if her debut singing for the 2006 film "Volver" and 2009 “Nine” weren’t enough, recently a new video of the Spanish actress was released with Cruz looking very sensual while performing a duo with her compatriot Miguel Bosé.

The black-and-white video shows both artists in different hotel rooms, where the actress boasts her sweet voice and throws herself onto the bed dressed in sexy lingerie, while singing “Decirnos Adiós” (Saying ‘Good Bye’), composed by her brother Eduardo Cruz.

"Penelope sings fabulously and, above all, she has a lot of personality in her voice and enjoys it a lot, something that you can't say about everyone," Bosé told Spanish wire service EFE.

Cruz was one of the special guests on Bosé’s new album “Papito”, along with the voices of Joaquín Sabina, Juan Luis Guerra, Tiziano Ferro, Dani Martin and Pablo Alborán, who also collaborated on the production.

'Pretty Little Liars' Star Troain Bellisario Says Spencer Loses Everything

Of the four "Pretty Little Liars," Spencer Hastings is as Type A as they come. Throughout the ABC Family show's two and a half seasons, the overachieving WASP has arguably been more determined than anyone to find out who's been blackmailing her and her friends, but it's the one "A" she can't get.

But a lot changes when Season 3 of "Pretty Little Liars" returns on Tuesday, January 8 at 8 p.m. EST and Troian Bellisario, the actress who plays Spencer, says she's having the most fun she's ever had on the series.

When Spencer finds out the truth about her boyfriend-turned-"A"-Team-member Toby (Keegan Allen), "She really has lost everything, in her eyes," Bellisario told HuffPost TV via phone. "And when somebody loses everything, they can do anything. So while she does become more and more destroyed, she also becomes almost more and more powerful."

Find out what's in store for Rosewood's very own Nancy Drew, who Spencer will be sparring with, who Bellisario thinks could betray her "Pretty Little Liars" character the worst, and much more.

Spencer has grown so much over the past three seasons. What do you love about playing her?
Everything? [Laughs.] She's so wonderful in so many different ways -- there's her humor; she's also incredibly strong and yet she's probably one of the most easily breakable people. There's just a really big range with her and there's so much that I get to do. We always joke around that while the other girls are on beautiful romantic dates, I'm the one who's spending the night out in the woods Nancy Drew-ing it up. But that's so much fun, to get to live in both of those words: She's kind of the sleuth of the girls and the big planner, but at the same time, she's also a really big romantic.

Spencer really has developed such a great sense of humor as the show's gone on. Did you ask to lighten things up a bit for her?
No. She always had a really dry sense of humor. Even in the pilot, she has really, really dry, great lines. But I think as time went on and I got to hang out with the writers more and they kind of got my sense of humor -- which is pretty similar -- they just started writing more and more. The fun thing about being the brain of the group is she's kind of the truth-teller. There are two truth-tellers: One is Spencer, who figures it all out, and then there's Hanna, who doesn't really have a filter and can kind of say anything. And that's what's amazing about what Ashley [Benson] does as Hanna. So you have these two characters who can call anybody on their BS at any time and it's always pretty funny.

Going back to the Halloween special -- which was super eventful since it was set in the present -- Garrett [Yani Gellman] told Spencer about Ali [Sasha Pieterse] and Bryon [Chad Lowe] before she died. How much will that factor into the story when Season 3 picks back up?
It's definitely going to create a rift with the girls. So much happened in that episode -- and especially with what Aria [Lucy Hale] had to go through, being locked in a box with Garrett's corpse and after all of that, coming out and having one of her best friends say, "The last thing Garrett told me was this awful thing about your dad." So it really creates a rift between Aria and Spencer, who are so close. And yet, at this moment -- because when Spencer gets wind of a clue or a possible new lead, she can't really let it go -- she finds it hard to take care of Aria, who's going through emotional trauma, thinking, "What if my dad is not who I think he is?"

Mona [Janel Parrish] is out of Radley now and back at Rosewood. What effect is that going to have on the girls?
It's going to have a huge effect. I remember it was actually very funny. We were reading the first episode where she's back and I'm having to interact with her, the girl that tried to throw me off of a cliff not three months before. I was talking to the writers and I said, "This is ludicrous! I would have a restraining order. It is awful that this is happening! How is this possible?" They looked at me and they said, "That's exactly what Spencer's going through." So I was like, "Oh. Well, OK." [Laughs.] It was just kind of fun to play the incredulity of this scenario. One of our directors, Norman [Buckley], said, "What I love about the show is that the circumstances are so completely fantastic and yet, the emotions are all real." So it's like, imagine a world where you can't get protection from the person that attempted to take your life and in fact, she's just your study partner. [Laughs.] That's what gives the world its humor and also its darkness.

There's a scene in the Season 3 preview where Spencer tells Mona, "This is not game to me at all." It's pretty clear she's still screwing with them or at least, they think she is.
Yeah. Especially with kind of power we endowed the character of Mona with, to think that all of a sudden she would just kind of come back and be like, "I'm sorry. I was having a really stressful couple months and I took it too far" ... You can't do that. So the worst part for the girls is the new world that they find themselves in where everybody is wanting Mona to be better and wanting the girls to forgive her, but they know better. They know who this person really is.

Hanna especially wants to believe in Mona, but I feel like Spencer definitely doesn't trust her. Are she and Mona specifically at odds, more so than the other girls?
Yes. I love playing with Janel because she's so much fun and every scene I get to do with her is amazing. But the great thing that was set up between Mona and Spencer is that they're both really, really smart young women and they both want to be the smartest. It was very clear to Spencer that for a long time, she was outsmarted by somebody and that drove her up the wall. Mona, or "A," took the light and was torturing the girls in different ways: With Spencer, it was like a game of chess and she was always five steps ahead. So now that Mona's back, there is a special connection and bond between her and Spencer because they're in a constant game of one-upping each other.

The huge reveal of the Season 3 winter finale is that Toby is part of the "A" Team. Was it hard to do scenes with Keegan Allen after finding that out when Spencer is still in the dark?
It was kind of fun! It was fun for me, but I think it was hard for Keegan because Keegan felt so bad all the time about playing these scenes and saying all these really normal, romantic, sweet Toby lines. But it was really fun for me to play into the trap of it and not have to worry about it because I knew the more I got to play into being oblivious, the more fun the realization was going to be.

Spencer isn't looking so good in some points of the trailer. It looks like she's starting to break down and she says the girls need to stop blaming "A" and start blaming themselves. What happens that leads her to feel that way?
That's what's kind of always been interesting about our show is that the girls themselves are not innocent and I think that the lesson of our show is that if the girls figured out a way to tell the truth about all of these things tomorrow, they would probably be in the clear, but they can't actually own up to everything that they've done because it would change everything. It would change the way their parents looked at them. I'm not saying they're evil or malicious, but they've definitely made mistakes -- as everybody does -- very early in their lives, and they're still paying for it.

This season was the most fun for me to shoot personally because Spencer's always been willing to go 100 percent to fight "A," but once the truth comes out about Toby -- which, let's face it, Spencer's a very, very intelligent girl and she's not going to stay in the dark forever -- she really has lost everything, in her eyes. And when somebody loses everything, they can do anything. So while she does become, like you saw in the trailer, more and more destroyed, she also becomes almost more and more powerful.

We've heard about some major scenes in the woods coming up. What can you say about those?
Those scenes are not what I'd call "fun." [Laughs.] I mean, they were exhausting. I was in a highly emotional state, I will say. And probably, the next day, when we were shooting the sort of morning-after scene, that was really fun because I got to be Spencer in a completely different light. It's kind of like the phoenix moment because all night, we shot in those woods and it was kind of like her burning herself to the ground and in the morning, you get to see what rises out of the ashes. I think it will be really, really fun for the audience. I think they'll be kind of worried for a while, but ultimately, it will be really fun.

We know that Melissa [Torrey DeVitto] returns too and viewers have always been suspicious of her. What's to come between Melissa and Spencer?
I love having Torrey around -- she's so much fun to play with and I adore her on set and off. For me, Melissa is one of the characters, outside of the four girls, that holds so much possibility. I just really believe that she has done so many bad things. There are moments where she's really tried to connect with Spencer or help Spencer, so she's not just a 100 percent evil character. I think it's kind of interesting because Spencer has that kind of relationship with Melissa that Hanna has with Mona, where you don't know if they're 100 percent evil because you've seen them at their weakest moment, you've seen them reach out to you and ask for help and you can't help but give it to them because no matter how bad it gets between them or what they've done to each other, they're still sisters. I also think that there's the ultimate betrayal set up in Melissa, but I don't know what's going to happen.

We've seen that picture of Jason [Drew Van Acker] and Mona hugging. What's Spencer's reaction to that friendship?
One of things that Spencer quickly realizes when she's looking at the NAT Club is that it was Ian [Ryan Merriman], Garrett and Jason. Ian's dead, Garrett's dead and now all of sudden, Jason -- who she found out was her brother and she has a new connection with -- is hanging out with Mona. Spencer is definitely on high alert. Also, there's a personal feeling of hurt when she finds out that the two of them are becoming close, which is "You're supposed to be my family. This person hurt me for so long. How could you be spending time with them?" I think it's really difficult for Spencer to understand.

You and Shay Mitchell have a Kickstarter campaign going on. How'd that come about?
Two of our very good friends who work with us every day on "Pretty Little Liars" are Kyle [Hasday] and Matt [Stewart]. They want to direct movies together and they're such wonderful people and they work so hard with us every day. We often go out to dinner with them and have movie nights and we said, "Why don't you guys write something and shoot something? We'll do a movie with you." So they took it upon themselves to write a short film calle "Afterlife" that's totally different for Shay and I, and they started this Kickstarter to raise money to shoot it.

The characters are different and alike. We play two women who wake up on the other side of a mass cult suicide and they're the only two survivors. One of them realizes it as a miracle or a new chance at life and backs away from the cult beliefs and the other quickly realizes that they're going to be left behind and she wants to go with the other cult members. It's really interesting and happens in real-time and in one location. It's purely about the mental and physical struggle between these two characters as they fight for what they consider life.

What else are you working on?
This year, I wrote and acted in and produced my first short film called "Exiles." I'm really proud of it and right now we're sending it out to festivals to see where we can find a home for it. The fans have all been really supportive and I want them to see it.

Shane Coffey, who played Holden on "Pretty Little Liars," is in it too, right?
Yes. Shane and I went to school together and the director of the film, Thomas Bertelsen, we all formed a small theater company together when we went to USC. We're all really proud of it and it's truly like a family endeavor.

Will you be shooting more "Lauren"?
Yes, I love everything about playing that character. It's so completely different and so wonderfully strong in a totally different way: She's a mother, she's a soldier, she is having to operate in a completely different landscape than I've ever known. I've read books and I've spoken to women who've served and I can only imagine what that's like. So to get to go back and revisit that world and attempt to tell more of her story is such a delight to me. I'm so equally nervous and excited for it.

What's it like working with Jennifer Beals?
Amazing! She's just one of those people who's so strong in herself and yet, willing to play at the same time. She's confident with her choices, but willing to throw them out at a minute's notice. She's also such a giving actor that all the scenes with her were just an absolute delight. Working with Lesli Linka Glatter, who has been working with me on "Pretty Little Liars" for a very long time, to have the three of us in a room, it was just such a collaborative circle of energy that it was just so much fun.

The "Pretty Little Liars" Season 3 winter premiere airs on Tuesday, January 8 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC Family.

'Shahs of Sunset' Star: Ryan Seacrest 'Is Helping The Peace Process'

"Shahs of Sunset" breakout star Reza Farahan says it's easier to be a gay man on TV than a Persian, but neither are easy. So the fact that a gay Persian man is on TV every Sunday night not only makes him proud, but he also thinks it could help change the world, particularly the Middle East.

"I think being Persian and different in anyone is really hard because Persians don't like people that deviate from the norm," Farahan tells The Huffington Post. "So if you don't follow the cookie-cutter life they want you to follow, they are not going to accept you. So is it really difficult being gay and Persian? [Nods.] And it's even more difficult for people that aren't as confident as I am."

He jokes that behind the scenes, people on the show call him "Stonewall Farahan" -- a reference to the Stonewall Inn riots of 1969, a key moment in the gay rights movement, and a name that he embraces.

"The best part of being on the show is getting Facebook messages and tweets from people telling me I helped them come out of the closet. They see they have a future; they are not going to kill themselves," says Farahan.

He adds, "It took the combination of Ryan Seacrest Productions and the bravery of Bravo to come together to put six Middle Easterners on TV. Ryan is helping the peace process. I think it's brave to put us on TV at a time in history when it's the most volatile region on earth."

"Shahs of Sunset" airs Sunday nights on Bravo.

Heidi Klum Opens Up About Divorce

Heidi Klum hasn't been shy about flaunting her new beau, bodyguard Martin Kirsten, since her January 2012 split with Seal. But will the supermodel be taking another walk down the aisle any time soon?

“I don’t think so," the "Project Runway" judge said in the February 2013 issue of Marie Claire. She continued, "Now I don’t think it’s that important. I’m not angry about anything, but I don’t think I will. Maybe if I’m with someone for 15 or 20 years, and we do it in our old age as a fun thing to do... But I don’t have the urgency anymore.”

Klum filed for divorce from Seal in April 2012 after nearly seven years of marriage. The pair has four children together -- Leni, Henry, Johan and Lou.

And while Klum has certainly hit a rough patch or two since the split, she has been able to take the divorce process in stride.

"People say, 'Oh, God, how devastating to go through a divorce,'" she said to the magazine. "Did I wish for this to happen to my family? No. But everyone is healthy; we're moving on with our lives. If someone got [very sick], God forbid, that would be a real problem. It's not what I wanted -- it's not what anyone wanted -- but [the divorce] is not a real problem."

Their reportedly "amicable" split took a turn for the worse back in September when Seal told TMZ that he wished Klum would have "at least waited until [they] separated first before deciding to fornicate with the help, as it were," referring to her then-blossoming romance with Kirsten. Seal's publicist later clarified that he did not mean to imply that she had cheated on him while they were married, but rather that the couple is still technically married since their divorce has yet to be finalized.

Two weeks later, Klum commented on her estranged husband's rant during an interview with Katie Couric. "He has a very unique choice of words," she said. "I'm used to them...I don't love that. It's obviously not true."

Will Meredith Cause Problems On 'Castle'?

$

Castle and Beckett can't catch and break and this time it's Castle's ex-wife Meredith (Darby Stanchfield) who's stirring up trouble.

The woman who Castle once referred to as a "deep-fried Twinkie" is back for the winter premiere of "Castle" (Mondays at 10 p.m. EST on ABC) to help Alexis, but, Stanchfield told HuffPost TV, "There's definitely a secret agenda."

Find out more about Meredith's return to "Castle" below and check back later this week for more from Stanchfield on "Scandal."

We haven't seen Meredith since Season 1. What was it like being back on set?
It was so fun. The first thing I forgot all about was how tall everybody is on that show. I'm like one of the tallest ones on "Scandal." If I'm wearing my four-inch Abby Whelan high heels, I hover over everybody. I literally have a lower pair of high heels that I wear when I do one of the scenes with the guys. But on "Castle," Stana [Katic, who plays Kate Beckett] and now, Molly Quinn [Alexis Castle] -- she's grown -- and Nathan [Fillion, who plays Rick Castle], they're all so tall. So I was like, "Oh right. I'm with the tall family again."

You hadn't seen your TV daughter in four seasons.
I saw her at the TCAs [Television Critics Association Press Tour] either last year or the year before when "Scandal" first came out so we ran into each other. Even then, I told her, "I think you've grown a foot and you look ... " I mean, she's a young woman now.

Last we saw her, Meredith and Castle were still having ex sex and she was his the deep-fried Twinkie. How long do you think it's been since they've slept together?
My guess is that it's probably been since that last time [in Season 1] since they've been together. But with Meredith, it doesn't really matter how much time has passed, she's in her own world and she kind of gets what she wants. If she has some sort of defeat -- she cheated on Castle and they wound up getting divorced -- she still somehow turns it around so that it benefits her or she comes out winning. She's not one that carries around a lot of grief. Even though for me, as an actor, so much time has passed, I just went right back into it and it was really great. I don't think she's changed at all. She's expecting the same sort of things.

Last time, we saw Meredith try to prove to Beckett that she still meant something to Castle.
Oh yeah. She definitely marked her territory by calling him kitten and looking her up and down, sort of sneering.

So what's her reaction to Beckett staying at the apartment?
Well, she comes in because Alexis has mono and she's there to take care of her daughter, but there's definitely a secret agenda, which we'll address.

"Castle" airs Mondays at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.

Sony Co-Chair Comments On 'Zero Dark Thirty' Torture Debate

$

0

Sony co-chair Amy Pascal has issued a statement defending "Zero Dark Thirty," the new Sony film about the decade-long hunt for Osama bin Laden, against allegations that the film endorses enhanced interrogation tactics like waterboarding.

"'Zero Dark Thirty' does not advocate torture," Pascal said (via TheWrap.com). "To not include that part of history would have been irresponsible and inaccurate. We fully support [director] Kathryn Bigelow and [screenwriter] Mark Boal and stand behind this extraordinary movie."

Debate over Bigelow and Boal's intentions with the film has raged since late last year, when the film debuted for an Oscar qualifying run in New York and Los Angeles on Dec. 19. Those who have taken issue with "Zero Dark Thirty" include Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Carl Levin (D-Mich.), as well as Alex Gibney, an Oscar-winning filmmaker. In a blog written for The Huffington Post, Gibney took issue with some of the facts presented in "Zero Dark Thirty," which asserts that key information about bin Laden's personal courier was offered up by a prisoner named Ammar, who was previously waterboard. The identity of bin Laden's courier led the CIA to the Al Qaeda leader's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. From Gibney's blog:

"Ammar" is a composite character likely modeled after two characters. The first was probably Hassan Ghul, who was interrogated by the CIA in 2004 with coercive techniques (NOT including waterboarding) and who did provide some details about Abu Ahmed al-Kuwaiti. But according to Senator Dianne Feinstein (who has access to all of the classified files) all of the vital information was provided prior to the rough stuff. The first clues about al-Kuwaiti were obtained in 2002 through the use of traditional interrogation methods.

Sens. McCain, Feinstein and Levin took their outrage one step further, writing a letter to Sony and Pascal.

"We believe the film is grossly inaccurate and misleading in its suggestion that torture resulted in information that led to the location of [Osama] bin Laden," they wrote in December.

As recent as this week, the debate about whether "Zero Dark Thirty" is pro-torture remained in play. As TheWrap notes, Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences member David Clennon said he would not vote for the film in any Oscar category because of its content. "Zero Dark Thirty" scored a nomination for Best Picture, but Bigelow was snubbed in the Best Director category at the Academy Awards, putting the overall awards picture of the film in heavy doubt. (The 1989 film "Driving Miss Daisy" was the last Best Picture winner to capture the award without a corresponding Best Director nomination.) It's worth noting, however, that Boal did receive a nomination for Best Original Screenplay.

“Torture is an appalling crime under any circumstances,” Clennon wrote in a blog post. "'Zero' never acknowledges that torture is immoral and criminal. It does portray torture as getting results.”

"We are outraged that any responsible member of the Academy would use their voting status in AMPAS as a platform to advance their own political agenda," Pascal said in her statement. "This film should be judged free of partisanship. To punish an Artist's right of expression is abhorrent. This community, more than any other, should know how reprehensible that is. While we fully respect everyone’s right to express their opinion, this activity is really an affront to the Academy and artistic creative freedom."

For their part, Bigelow, Boal and Pascal haven't been thrown under the bus entirely. CIA director Michael Morell said in a statement that many tactics were used to find bin Laden.

"[T]he truth is that multiple streams of intelligence led CIA analysts to conclude that bin Laden was hiding in Abbottabad," Morell said. "Some came from detainees subjected to enhanced interrogation techniques, but there were many other sources as well.”

"Zero Dark Thirty" is out in theaters now. For more on Pascal's statement, head over to TheWrap.

Musician, producer and former member of Outkast, Big Boi, told HuffPost Live Friday that he voted for Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson in the 2012 election instead of President Barack Obama.

HuffPost Live host Alyona Minkovski referenced a radio interview Big Boi had done previously, leading him to recount a story he had told about the day after the election.

"Well, I was leaving to go out of town and it was a lady -- a Caucasian lady -- and she was like 'oh yeah, congratulations on y'all win last night, you know, with like and attitude,'" Big Boi told HuffPost Live. "And, you know, just to let her know I was on my P's and Q's, I was like, 'I don't know what you talkin' bout, I voted for Gary Johnson.' And she looked shocked to even know that I knew there were other candidates on the ballot ... So, you can't judge a book by its cover."

Expanding on why Obama didn't earn his vote, Big Boi said: "I have nothing against the president at all, you know, he's a nice guy, but you know, the things that they're standing on right now just didn't agree with me."

"Anything that benefits the public and not just big banking, that's what I'm with," he added.

Big Boi also spoke about the possibility of an Outkast reunion.

Britney Spears and her fiance Jason Trawick have split.

The singer, 31, confirmed to People that she and her former manager have ended their engagement.

"Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends," Spears said in the statement, with Trawick adding, "As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever."

"Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have mutually agreed to end their one-year engagement," her rep Jeff Raymond said. "As two mature adults, they came to the difficult decision to go their separate ways while continuing to remain friends."

Sources tell TMZ that it was a "friendly breakup" and the couple just "grew apart." The site has also confirmed that Trawick has been removed as Spears' co-conservator and her father Jamie Spears will once again take over her conservatorship.

Spears and Trawick began dating in 2009 and got engaged on Trawick's 40th birthday in December 2011. The former "X Factor" mentor -- who just announced she would not be returning to the show -- has two sons, Preston, 7, and Jayden, 6, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, whom she divorced in 2006.

Jack Nicholson couldn't handle the ugly truth any longer on Friday night at the Staples Center: His beloved Los Angeles Lakers were hapless. The renowned fan of the purple and gold bolted early as Kobe and company dropped their sixth straight game, a 116-101 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Despite 28 points from Bryant, Los Angeles never challenged OKC in the second half. With the Lakers trailing by more than 20 points midway through the fourth quarter Nicholson decided that he'd seen enough. He was leaving and he was taking Adam Sandler with him. But Jack didn't leave without waving goodbye to former NBA coach and current ESPN announcer Jeff Van Gundy. Mike Breen, Van Gundy's broadcast partner, called the departure.

"How bad has it gotten here at the Staples Center? Jack Nicholson is letting Jeff Van Gundy know that it's time to leave."

Not long before he bailed, Reggie Miller was wondering if Nicholson would officially surrender as the Thunder rocked the Lakers behind a stellar performance from Kevin Durant, who finished with 42 points.

With the Lakers not producing too many highlights to transform into GIFs lately, Nicholson's wave to JVG got the treatment. Here it is to watch over and over and over.

The Lakers' six-game losing streak is the team's longest since 2007, per Greg Beachem of The Associated Press. It drops them to 15-21 for the season and into 11th place in the Western Conference standings.

Celebrities Who Dissed Their Exes

In 2009, Mariah Carey wasn't shy about calling her ex-husband and record executive Tommy Mottola "controlling," and claimed he "mentally and emotionally" abused her during their four-year-marriage, which she called a "private hell."

Four years later, Mottola is speaking out in his new memoir "Hitmaker," and says that he might have been demanding, but he's the reason for her worldwide success. "If it seemed like I was controlling, I apologize. Was I obsessive? Yes. But that was also part of the reason for her success," he writes in the book.

We're sure Mariah wouldn't be too happy to learn her ex believes he's the reason she's become a legend in the music industry, but it's not as if he's the first to diss a former paramour.

Welcome to splitsville.

At least that's what celebrity news consisted of this week as two of Hollywood's hottest young couples officially called it quits. First, on-again-off-again lovebirds Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez broke up for the second time and then Taylor Swift ended things with Harry Styles just two months after they started dating.

Now that's rough.

Also this week Matthew McConaughey, who shed almost 50 pounds for his role in "Dallas Buyers Club," revealed he has gained back 25 pounds! Ladies, Matty's abs are on their way back! (Thank goodness).

Speaking of abs, have you seen Mariah Carey's? She flaunted her killer frame in a red hot bikini in Australia.

Plus, Rosie O'Donnell welcomed a baby girl, pregnant Kim Kardashian took her baby bump (and baby daddy) to Paris, Brooke Burke revealed her post-surgery scar and Miranda Lambert lashed out on Chris Brown ... again.

If the Golden Globes were part of "The Brady Bunch" it would definitely be Jan: the under-appreciated member of the award show family.

Despite consistently bringing us an A-list red carpet full of elegant formal wear, a lot of the fashion hype seems to be directed at the Oscars (Marsha, if you will). Remember that Chanel couture dress that Rachel Zoe frantically redesigned for Cameron Diaz back in 2009? Or that yellow cocktail dress that Reese Witherspoon wore just after separating from Ryan Phillippe in 2007 that proved she wasn't to be pitied? Yup, those were both from the Globes.

So before we continue crying "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha," we'll show you just how great the gowns really were. Here, we've rounded up the best, most show-stopping Golden Globes dresses of all time.
