Another day, another outfit that proves Taylor Swift is the queen of summer style.

Swift managed to dress for the heat yet still look cool in a polka-dot crop top and high-slit skirt as she stepped out in New York on July 7. The 24-year-old's look had a vintage vibe to it, with her signature red lips and modest slingback heels:

Swift recently wrote a blog post about the future of the music industry, published on the Wall Street Journal's website. In the post, Swift touches on life in the celebrity spotlight.

"I predict that some things will never change. There will always be an increasing fixation on the private lives of musicians, especially the younger ones. Artists who were at their commercial peak in the '70s, '80s and '90s tell me, 'It was never this crazy for us back then!'" she wrote.

Swift continued, "I suspect I'll be saying that same thing to younger artists someday (God help them). There continues to be a bad girl vs. good girl/clean-cut vs. sexy debate, and for as long as those labels exist, I just hope there will be contenders on both sides. Everyone needs someone to relate to."

Emma Watson Wants More Men To Speak Up About Global Gender Equality

After years of fighting evil on-screen, Hermione Granger is becoming a force for good in the muggle world.

Emma Watson, who skyrocketed to stardom for her role as the witch heroine in the "Harry Potter" series, is using her fame to make the world a more equal place with the United Nations. U.N. Women, the organization's entity for gender equality advocacy, announced Monday that Watson is its latest Goodwill Ambassador. The humanitarian actress will be promoting the HeForShe campaign, which encourages men to speak up about global gender equality.

Watson took to Twitter to express her excitement about the opportunity.

According to the U.N., women face discrimination globally when accessing education, seeking employment opportunities and participating in government. Violence against women remains a chronic issue in developing regions of the world, and women are disproportionately affected by poverty, which hinders opportunity for girls to access education.

Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, under-secretary-general and executive director of U.N. Women, said in a statement that the actress "embodies the values of U.N. Women," and will play a vital role in engaging young people on the important issues of gender equality advancement in the 21st century.

Watson, a self-identified feminist who graduated from Brown University earlier this year, has long been a vocal advocate for women around the world. This past May, Watson joined the cry for justice on social media, raising awareness on the abduction of hundreds of Nigerian school girls by terrorist network Boko Haram.

"Women’s rights are something so inextricably linked with who I am, so deeply personal and rooted in my life that I can’t imagine an opportunity more exciting," Watson said in a statement. "I still have so much to learn, but as I progress I hope to bring more of my individual knowledge, experience and awareness to this role."

Columbus Short Admits 'Scandal' Did The 'Right Thing' In Firing Him

If only Olivia Pope could really handle this situation.

Actor Columbus Short won TV viewers' hearts as Kerry Washington's most-loyal gladiator on the hit ABC drama "Scandal." Short was a series regular for years on the show before Season 3 saw the supposed end of his character's run at the hands of Olivia Pope's father. While Harrison's fate was seemingly left up in the air when the cameras faded to black, it seems that the network already knew how Short's story would end.

Short found out in April that he would not be returning to the show after his troubled personal life became public. His run-ins with the law coupled with accusations of domestic violence from his estranged wife lent a hand in the actor being fired from the popular series and while the news was tough to take, Short has no hard feelings when it comes to his most recent TV exit.

“I think, at a certain point, when you’re [hearing] a barrage of stories after stories, ABC justifiably would want to distance themselves,” he told Access Hollywood. “They did the right thing.” The actor went on to praise his co-workers for their unwavering support while he went through those difficult times. “They did not throw me to the curb like trash -- that’s my family,” Short said. “They knew that I was going through a tough season and rallied around me and wrapped their arms around me, from Shonda to the craft service man. We’re a family."

Michael Strahan Opens Up About His Personal Life And Messy Divorce

Michael Strahan greets millions of "Live with Kelly and Michael" viewers each morning with his trademark gap-toothed smile and happy-go-lucky personality.

But things weren't so pleasant for the former NFL player eight years ago, when he was locked in an acrimonious divorce with now-ex-wife Jean Muggli. At the height of the court battle, Muggli accused Strahan of abuse, infidelity and ignoring their twin daughters. Strahan denied the allegations and claimed that his ex had a major spending problem.

In the August issue of Ebony, the daytime talk-show host opens up the divorce.

“When you get divorced, people get upset, angry and say crazy things,” he tells the magazine. “You have to take it. But it wasn’t easy. It was hard as hell.”

Today, Strahan says the experience has helped him cultivate a strong relationship with fiancée Nicole Murphy. (Murphy, the ex-wife of actor Eddie Murphy, is a star on VH1's "Hollywood Exes.")

“For us it’s key that we maintain normalcy,” Strahan says. “We have a great life. People can buy into their own celebrity, and that’s a dangerous thing.”

For more on Strahan, check out the August issue of Ebony.

Beyonce's Father, Mathew Knowles, Receives Second Paternity Suit

After facing his public child support battle with the mother of his 4-year-old son, Nixon Alexander Knowles, Mathew Knowles has reportedly received another paternity suit from a woman claiming the music executive is the father of her 4-year-old daughter.

TMZ reports 30-year-old “lingerie model”-turned-real estate agent, TaQoya Branscomb filed court documents on May 30 alleging she gave birth the same year Knowles' ex-wife, Tina Knowles, filed for divorce in 2010. And according to BuzzFeed, Branscomb is requesting Knowles take a DNA test, pay child support, and assist in paying her attorney fees for the case.

Branscomb’s suit is similar to the one filed by the mother of Knowles' 4-year-old son, Alexsandra Wright, who revealed she has since received “thousands” of death threats in response to reports that she expects Nixon’s superstar half-sister, Beyonce, to come to their financial aid during an April interview with Inside Edition.

Wright later disputed the reports, saying that it’s Mathew Knowles’ responsibility to support his child, not Beyonce’s.

Celebrity Ali Landry made her big splash into the homes of millions with her spot in the 1998 Doritos commercial that aired during the Super Bowl.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZJm1taBsVI

Millions of viewers tuned in to see Landry saunter through a library setting off sprinklers to put out the hotness she exudes while passing through. Little did many know this same brunette was Miss Louisiana and Miss USA just a few years before.

It's amazing how one little commercial can make you an overnight sensation. Her phone started ringing and the opportunities have never stopped coming. She landed roles on shows such as Felicity, Eve, Sunset Beach and Popular, just to name a few.

Doritos brought her back for a few more commercials, but she wasn't about to limit herself to always being in front of the camera. After the birth of her first child, she was determined to shift gears in business and get behind the camera producing television series such as Hollywood Girls Nights and more recently Mi Casa, Su Casa.

Landry noted she's inspired the most when pregnant. Her first child inspired a line of children's clothing named Belle Parish. She found working in the "mom space" quite invigorating. Since then, she has had three more children and a few more ideas!

Her last pregnancy sparked a new interest; technology. Her mission? Create a smart phone app. This was certainly a different take from her other business ventures yet has proved to have the most personal appeal.

Always in need of things for her kids, she relied heavily on friends and family to make suggestions of baby items new to the market they liked. In talking with other friends and eventual business partner she learned she wasn't the only one struggling to find the things she needed. Hence the app concept was born.

The app, Favored By, allows new moms to post their favorite products for others to consider. Such a simple concept with such a broad appeal. Instead of offering reviews by industry leaders, why not ask those who are actually using the items.

What's next in store for Landry? Only time will tell. With her 41st birthday just days away (July 21st) and more opportunities knocking on her door, she still has time for more babies to inspire more businesses and hopefully another Doritos commercial!

Where were you when the Apollo 11 astronauts landed on the moon? Or if you weren't around in the late 1960's, what do you make of that "giant leap for mankind?"

Buzz Aldrin -- the second man to walk on the moon -- wants to hear from you, as he explains in the video above, released in anticipation of the moon landing's 45th anniversary later this month.

"The whole world celebrated our moon landing, but we missed the whole thing because we were out of town," Aldrin jokes in the video. "So now I invite you to share with me and the world, your story or your family's story of where you were on July 20th, 1969."

On that historic day, Neil Armstrong took the first step onto the lunar surface at 22:56:15 EDT. Aldrin joined him about 20 minutes later.

Celebrities are already buzzing about the anniversary, from Bill Nye to Stephen Colbert to John Travolta.

"I was five years old and my mom swears she got me up and she put me in front of the TV with my other ten brothers and sisters," Colbert says in the video.

"We were jumping in and out of the pool, getting updates every three to five minutes," Travolta says. "Did something happen? How close are they? Did they walk yet?"

You can share your memories of the historic event on social media using the hashtag #Apollo45. The Youtube Page "Apollo 45" will feature videos about the moon landing posted by users around the world.

The couple first tied the knot in Las Vegas in October 2007 and ended the marriage in December of the same year. Anderson originally citied irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split, but the marriage was later annulled on the basis of fraud in March 2008.

Anderson, 47, and Salomon, 46, later remarried in January 2014, but according to TMZ, the former "Baywatch" star filed divorce papers on July 3.

Lee Grant Recalls Emotional Encounter With Grace Kelly: 'She Was So Lonely And So Unhappy'

Grace Kelly is remembered as the picture of perfection: a gorgeous movie star who became the Princess of Monaco. But veteran actress and director Lee Grant recalls seeing quite a different side of the glamorous icon.

During a conversation about her book I Said Yes to Everything, Grant told HuffPost Live's Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani about the time she interviewed Kelly for a documentary. Kelly was giving stiff, uninteresting answers, so Grant tried to tell her that it wasn't going as she hoped. The message wasn't received well.

"While they were changing the rolls on the camera, I said to her, 'You know, what you're saying is boring. You're just repeating [things] and you're not saying anything about how you felt about your co-actors and co-stars,'" she said. "She turned to her friend and said, 'Am I boring? I don't want to be boring.' She was crying. She had her little tears coming down her face."

Grant said she encouraged Kelly and asked why she couldn't speak more openly.

"She said, 'You know, the women here in Monoco don't like me, and so I have to watch everything I say and everything I do because they're so critical,'" Grant said. "Who would have thought? The princess -- she's gotten everything, she's Cinderella, and there she was, so lonely and so unhappy."

The 38-year-old actress donned a sheer patterned top with loose leather pants and black pumps on the red carpet outside Williamsburg Cinemas in Brooklyn. Simple makeup and messy waves finished the cool, casual look.

“As I get older, I appreciate and get more comfortable with fashion. I didn’t grow up with it," Russell told InStyle of her style choices. "And the truth is, I’m the mom of two kids. I wear the same outfit for a month straight, then switch out. There’s just no time!”

Another Real Housewife cast member is heading to prison. What's with these people? Were they crooks before they got on tv or was this their M.O. for life?

Apollo Nida, from the Real Housewives of Atlanta was sentenced to eight years in prison for fraud. He was in prison about five years ago, was released and then started up his shady ways again, stealing from pensions and other blue collar crimes.

Teresa Giudice and her husband Juicy Joe will be sentenced in September for fraud, they are from The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Other Housewife stars have been in trouble with the law as well, from Nene Leakes allegedly not paying $1 million to her wedding planner to Bethenny Frankel allegedly not paying her management company for their cut of Skinny Girl. And the list goes on. I hate to see them all in trouble, but it's great fodder for cartoons. Bravo TV and Andy Cohen knows how to pick 'em!

Kim Kardashian might not be walking in Paris Fashion Week like her little sister Kendall Jenner, but the reality star made quite the splash anyway.

Kardashian stepped out in a plunging gown while on her way to Valentino's Haute Couture show in Paris Wednesday, July 9. The 33-year-old looked glamorous in the bluish-green frock as she exited her hotel and headed to the show.

She sat next to Mr. Valentino Garavani himself in the front row for the showcase of the line's Fall/Winter collection. The pairing is no surprise. Back in May, the designer threw Kardashian a lavish pre-wedding brunch at his estate in France.

Beyonce Has Quietly Given $7 Million To Homeless In Hometown Of Houston

Few people can pull off a secret like Beyonce.

After keeping one of the biggest albums of the past year completely under-wraps from millions of adoring fans, the Texas-born superstar is at the center of another well-kept covert mission — and this one will probably make you fall further in love with her.

Beyonce has quietly given $7 million throughout the past few years to the Knowles-Temenos Place Apartments in her hometown of Houston, as KHOU 11 News reported. Beyonce launched the complex in 2007 in response to the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Knowles-Temenos Place Apartments has space available for 43 individuals, and houses men and women who otherwise would likely be homeless. The facility supports its residents by providing meals, job readiness training, HIV/AIDS screenings and case management services, with an overall goal for residents to reach full self-sufficiency.

“She’s an incredible human being," Rev. Rudy Rasmus, who unearthed Beyonce's selfless donations to the public, told KHOU 11 News. He married Beyonce to rapper Jay-Z in 2008 and has worked personally with the singer in her efforts to help Houston's homeless. "[She] has an incredible heart and has been extremely helpful in our mission and our ministry here.”

Houston has seen significant progress in its fight against homelessness. A 2014 Houston Homeless Count showed that on a given night about 5,351 people in the city were living without stable shelter — a 37 percent drop from 2011. In June, the Coalition for the Homeless in Houston announced that the city has housed 1,510 chronically homeless individuals since January 2012 as part of a national campaign to combat homelessness from coast-to-coast.

"Houston is leading the charge to end chronic homelessness," Marilyn Brown, President & CEO of the Coalition, said in a press release. "Our success as part of the 100,000 Homes Campaign proves that permanent housing coupled with support services works."
