In a New York Times interview with Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara, the paper reported that J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" spinoff "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is slated for "three megamovies."

That is when Warner announced that Ms. Rowling had agreed to adapt for the big screen her “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” a 2001 book billed as one of Harry Potter’s Hogwarts textbooks. Three megamovies are planned. The main character will be a “magizoologist” named Newt Scamander. The stories, neither prequels or sequels, will start in New York about seven decades before the arrival of Mr. Potter and his pals.

It is thanks to Tsujihara that the "Harry Potter" world is making its return to theaters, convincing the author to bring her 54-page exploration of the creatures that inhabit the wizarding world to new life.

“When I say he made ‘Fantastic Beasts’ happen, it isn’t P.R.-speak but the literal truth,” Rowling said of Tsujihara. “We had one dinner, a follow-up telephone call, and then I got out the rough draft that I’d thought was going to be an interesting bit of memorabilia for my kids and started rewriting!”

Shaliene Woodley looked absolutely stunning, when she walked the red carpet for the UK Premiere of "Divergent" on Sunday, March 30.



The 22-year-old actress looked happy, immediately hugging co-star Theo James, when she spotted him at the event.



Outside of her starring role in the "Divergent" franchise, Woodley has made headlines with her interesting beauty routine.



Her "alternative lifestyle," is said to include getting her food directly from a farm, giving her "vagina a little extra vitamin D" and eating clay.

"I first heard about the benefits of eating clay from a taxi driver," she told Into The Gloss, " ... so, I've discovered that clay is great for you because your body doesn’t absorb it, and it apparently provides a negative charge, so it bonds to negative isotopes."

Anyways, she looks fantastic, so at least one of those "alternative lifestyle" tactics is working.

Waves ahead!

It looks like Robyn Lawley is going to have the best summer ever. The 24-year-old Australian beauty teased a photo on Facebook from her latest Cosmopolitan photo shoot on Sunday, writing:

Sneak Peek of my beauty and hair story in May issue of @cosmopolitan USA! Great team !! Shot by #leebroomfield.

Since breaking into the modeling industry, most of the focus has been on Lawley's shape with her proving that she's so much more than a plus-size model. But we gotta give it up to Cosmo for following Barneys New York lead and directing the camera's lens to her gorgeous face and hair.

Until we can get our hands on this issue, we'll be in the bathroom mirror with this photograph and a clipless curling iron trying to recreate Lawley's beachy waves.

LONDON (AP) — British actress Kate O'Mara, best known for her role in the 1980s soap opera "Dynasty," died Sunday at the age of 74, her agent said.

Phil Belfield said O'Mara died in a nursing home in southern England after a short illness. The actress, who began her television career in the 1960s, became a household name for playing Cassandra "Caress" Morrell, sister to Joan Collins' Alexis Colby, in "Dynasty."

In Britain she is often remembered for her role in "Triangle" — a soap opera set aboard a North Sea ferry that is often cited as the worst piece of British television.

She also appeared in the original run of British series "Doctor Who" and BBC drama "Howards' Way." In the 1990s she starred in the comedy show "Absolutely Fabulous" with Joanna Lumley.

More recently she appeared in a 2012 stage adaptation of Agatha Christie's "Death on the Nile."

She is survived by her sister, actress Belinda Carroll.

One of the best parts about Louis C.K. hosting "Saturday Night Live" is the nearly 10 minutes of new stand-up we get to see during his opening monologue.

This time, after riffing about "First world" hunger and explaining why going to see his child's play is basically torture, Louis got real about religion, even doing some crowd work by asking people to "Clap if you think you're going to heaven." The audience loved his bit about people who say God isn't real because they can't see Him ("I haven't seen '12 Years A Slave' yet, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist") and how it's reasonable to think that there might be a God but no Heaven:

Louis then went on to raise an interesting question about "Our Father": "What happened to our mom?" His guess is that either something suspicious happened up there ("Somewhere in heaven there's a porch with a dead lady under it") or God's a divorced, single father who's raising us on his own.

His material on why God is perceived to be a man led to some poignant jokes about women's rights, including how messed up it is that women couldn't vote until 1920. But his pièce de résistance was probably his final bit, in which he pointed out the absurdity of people calling men's undershirts "wifebeaters" without batting an eye.

"Women have had a rough time. It was so okay to beat your wife until so recently, that today we have a kind of shirt named after it. There's a piece of clothing in our culture affectionately nicknamed after beating the crap out of your wife! And for some reason this is offensive to nobody!"

On Saturday, March 29, Courtney Stodden and her boobs went to Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery, in order to honor the dead and take lots of selfies.

Haim might be a band comprised of almost entirely of girls, but they aren't a girl band. In an interview with The Telegraph, Alana Haim cited the term girl band as a "medieval" description.

“Growing up, there were a lot of girl artists like the Spice Girls, Aaliyah and Destiny’s Child,” she said. “But none of them really played instruments and I would always look up to Stevie Nicks and Blondie -- they are dope female musicians. So I just see us as a band. When people call us a girl band, I take it as an insult -- being a girl in a band shouldn’t be a thing. It seems so medieval.”

The band also explained why it is that none of them became drummers, leaving that duty on stage to the "hidden" member of the band, Dash Hutton, even though all three are more than capable behind the kit. According to Danielle Haim, it was their father's wish -- once a drummer in the Israeli army -- that his daughter's stay away from the skins.

“Dad was adamant that he didn’t want us to become drummers because he didn’t want us to lug all our s--t everywhere,” she said.

Barely a month after leaving rehab, Kesha walked the red carpet for the Humane Society Benefit Gala. The "Timber" singer was practically glowing in her sparkly sheer gown paired with minimal makeup.



When she left for Timberline Knolls in January, Kesha said her health had become a priority. "I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself but I've found it hard to practice," she told E! News.



The 27-year-old eventually extended her stay and postponed her spring tour in order to ensure a full recovery. Her mother, Pebe Sebert, later joined Kesha at the facility, to seek treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder.



Upon leaving rehab, Kesha dropped the dollar sign from her name. She also changed her twitter handle from @Ke$haSuxx to @KeshaRose, before sending a message of gratitude to her fans. "Happy to be back!," she wrote on March 6, "Feeling healthy & working on tons of new music I can't thank my fans enough for all the love & support u have given me."

Lea Michele arrived at the Kids' Choice Awards carpet in a pink lace dress. The 27-year-old looked stunning and briefly resembled Marilyn Monroe when her skirt blew up midway through her posing.



Of course, it didn't take long for Michele to recover. She held her dress down, narrowly avoiding the impending wardrobe malfunction.



According to the Daily Mail, the "Glee" star spent the morning on a hike with her mother in Studio City, returning home just in time to slip into her flirty getup for the evening.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — After weathering a sea of controversy, "Noah" arrived in first place at the weekend box office.

Paramount's biblical epic starring Russell Crowe in the titular role opened with $44 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. The imaginative take on the tale of Noah's Ark by filmmaker Darren Aronofsky led some religious groups to claim the story had been inaccurately portrayed and prompted Paramount to add a disclaimer to marketing materials saying that "artistic license has been taken" in telling the story.

Lionsgate's teen science-fiction thriller "Divergent" starring Shailene Woodley earned $26.5 million in its second weekend.

Disney's globe-trotting Muppet sequel "Muppets Most Wanted" featuring Tina Fey and Ricky Gervais came in third place with $11.4 million in its second weekend.

Most of America would pick Jennifer Lawrence as their ideal BFF, but one Texas woman took her devotion to the next level. In an effort to more closely resemble the Academy Award Winner, 30-year-old Kitty underwent extensive plastic surgery, spending over $25,000 on six total procedures.

ABC News reported on the story of the dog trainer and mother of a five-year-old, who attributed her child as the reason she had chosen to be carved into Lawrence's likeness. “The reason why I decided to get surgery is because post having my daughter, I wasn’t quite as comfortable with my body,” she explained.



At First Surgical Hospital in Houston, Texas, Kitty elected for a six hour procedure, including breast augmentation, liposuction to areas of her face and body, rhinoplasty, as well as fat grafts to plump her cheeks and behind.

Kitty's husband Eric was not convinced she should go through with the procedures. "Jennifer Lawrence isn't a celebrity that I have particularly strong feelings about one way or another," he said. "It's totally her choice."



As for funding the operations, Kitty noted that she "saved from a previous job ... so it was sort of a 'me fund,'" adding that she still had plenty of time to contribute to her daughter's college fund. She also received a discount for sharing her story on TV.

According to Kitty's doctor, attempting to resemble celebrities is not a particularly strange request. "Patients come in wanting to have lips like Angelina Jolie, breasts like Scarlett Johansson, Megan Fox," he said.

Kitty's story also follows the news of Toby Sheldon, the 33-year-old who spent $100,000 to look more like Justin Bieber back in October of 2013.



After several weeks of healing, Kitty dressed up for her big reveal. “Of course I look like Jennifer Lawrence,” she said. “I thought I had a resemblance to Jennifer Lawrence before my surgery and now I think after, my features are more refined to where they resemble her more.”

It's an exciting off-season for Matthew Stafford.

The Detroit Lions quarterback appears to have popped the question to longtime girlfriend Kelly Hall. Her brother, free agent wide receiver Chad Hall, spilled the engagement news on Twitter and Instagram Monday:

According to the Detroit News, Hall and Stafford met when they were both attending the University of Georgia. He played football for the Bulldogs; she was a cheerleader.

Early 2000s boy band O-Town is staging a big reunion, but for the former group members, it's far from all or nothing at all. The "Making the Band" musicians are reforming without frontman and resident heartthrob Ashley Parker Angel, who struck out on his own in 2006 to pursue a solo career and film a reality television show with MTV. We can only hope the reunited members, Erik-Michael Estrada, Dan Miller, Trevor Penick, and Jacob Underwood, will drop an "All or Nothing" remix to the tune of "Four out of Five or Nothing."

"We've kind of started and stopped along this reunion journey once or twice, and for various reasons it's fallen through," the band said in a new promotional video. "It's kind of now or never."

After more than a decade off from recording music together, the pop stars are getting back together this year to release new music and hit the road for a tour. O-Town's relaunched official website declares simply, "O-Town is back!"

O-Town, which is calling itself "essentially a brand new group," released its last studio album, "O2," in 2002, following the debut album, 2001's "O-Town," which produced the hits "Liquid Dreams" and "All or Nothing." The members of the band officially broke up in 2004 "to escape an unfair record contract and to pursue individual endeavors."

Billy Corgan is reportedly developing a new TV show that will focus more on smashing skulls than Smashing Pumpkins.

The Pumpkins frontman is in talks with AMC to develop a pro wrestling-focused reality show, according to Variety.

"The Untitled Billy Corgan Wrestling Project" promises to "[pull] back the curtain on the pro-wrestling world as [Corgan] takes over creative direction for the independent wrestling company Resistance Pro," Variety reports.

A long-time pro wrestling aficionado, Corgan founded Resistance Pro with wrestling promotor brothers Jacques and Gabriel Baron back in 2011.

Resistance Pro holds wrestling events once a month in small venues around Chicago attracting between 300 and 600 people per event and netting as much as $20,000 a night, Crain's Chicago Business previously reported.

Since founding Resistance Pro, Corgan has done more than just attach his name to the project: The Chicagoland native ditched his disaffected Pumpkins persona and got downright silly while starring in a local furniture company ad to promote Resistance Pro last year.



"We believe that wrestling is fascinating on many many levels. Socially, politically, even economically," Corgan told ProWrestling.net in 2012. "The struggles independent wrestlers go through to try to find work. Those are real struggles that anybody can identify with. We want to show what goes on in a wrestling company behind the scenes."

Beyond his wrestling project, Corgan has been busy creating epic jam sessions inspired by ancient literature at his suburban Chicago tea shop, Madame Zuzu's.

In early March Corgan played an eight-hour musical interpretation of Herman Hesse's "Siddhartha" and followed up that performance Sunday with a three-hour stretch of "sonic impressions" based on poems by the Sufi mystic, Rumi.

Adding to Corgan's ambitious list of activities are not one but two Smashing Pumpkins albums promised for 2015. According to a recent post on the band's official site, the Smashing Pumpkins will release a pair successive albums, "Monuments To An Elegy" and "Day For Night."

On the band's site Corgan wrote, "For those interested in sound, think: ‘guitars, guitars, guitars, and more guitar.'"

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Troubled smartphone maker BlackBerry has won an early round in its legal battle against an iPhone keyboard made by a startup co-founded by "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest.

A court order bans Seacrest's company, Typo Products LLC, from selling its iPhone keyboard in the U.S. while BlackBerry Ltd. proceeds with a patent infringement case against the product. BlackBerry contends Typo Products ripped off the design from the physical keyboards used for typing on BlackBerry's phones. U.S. District Judge William Orrick in San Francisco ruled that BlackBerry is likely to prove its infringement claims against Typo Products and would be damaged if the sales of the $99 iPhone keyboard were allowed to continue.

The ban could be lifted later in the case if Typo Products prevails in its claims that its iPhone keyboard isn't based on any of BlackBerry's patented designs or technology.

"This ruling will help prevent further injury to BlackBerry from Typo's blatant theft of our patented keyboard technology," BlackBerry said in a statement.

Typo Products said it plans to appeal Orrick's ruling. "Typo will continue to make and sell innovative products that busy people can't live without," the Los Angeles company said in a statement.

In court papers, Typo Products warned that it might go out of business if it was not allowed to keep selling its iPhone keyboard.

Seacrest started Typo Products with entrepreneur Laurence Hallier last year. The iPhone keyboard went on sale in January as an alternative to typing on a touch screen.

The physical keyboards on BlackBerry's phones helped reshape the way that people used mobile devices.

But those phones have been waning in popularity since Apple Inc. released the first iPhone in 2007, threatening BlackBerry's survival. As its losses have mounted, BlackBerry's market value has plummeted from more than $80 billion in 2008 to less than $5 billion today.

The Canadian company is trying to bounce back by focusing more on its software than its smartphones under CEO John Chen, who took charge last year. BlackBerry lost $5.9 billion in its last fiscal year ending March 1.

Spike Lee's war with the New York Times over gentrification isn't going away any time soon: after the paper's head film critic AO Scott took on the subject through a cinematic lens, Lee fired off an epic riposte through social media.

Scott's article was just the latest in an ongoing conversation centered around gentrification in Brooklyn, dialogue that was thrust into the forefront anew after Lee was recorded publicly railing against a previous piece in the Times that suggested gentrification has spurred positive effects for the borough. That audio was first published in The Daily Intelligencer and went viral.

On Sunday, Scott published what Lee took to be a dig. "Whose Brooklyn Is It Anyway? Tracing Urban Change in Brooklyn From 'Kotter' To 'Girls'" read, in part:

What’s the saying about people who live in glass brownstones? Nearly everyone who brings up gentrification is implicated in some way, and accusations of hypocrisy on Mr. Lee’s part were not long in coming. In a Daily News op-ed article, Errol Louis noted that Mr. Lee currently lives in the old-money oasis of the Upper East Side of Manhattan, and also that when he lived in Brooklyn, he was both an agent and a beneficiary of the gentrification he now decries. Mr. Lee’s presence in Fort Greene in the 1990s — as an artist, an entrepreneur and a celebrity — contributed in no small measure to that area’s cachet. Fort Greene was colonized by successive waves of interlopers: bohemians and creative class types; recent graduates and fledgling families; bankers and lawyers.

The director's open letter, which was published the following day via the social media platform WhoSay to -- to eschew outside edits, Lee said -- criticized Scott's piece as a "lame, weak, not really thought out" argument that attempts to portray Lee as a hypocrite.

You stated in your Article that because I live in The Upper East Side and I’m talking about Gentrification that makes me Hypocrite. The fact is where I live has nothing to do with it. Your argument is OKEY DOKE. If you did your research you would see I’m a product of The New York Public School System, from Kindergarten to graduating from John Dewey High School in Coney Island. I was born in Atlanta, Georgia and my Family moved to Crown Heights, Brooklyn when I was Three. The Lees were the 1st Black Family to move into the predominantly Italian-American Brooklyn Neighborhood of Cobble Hill. My Parents bought their first home in 1968, a Brownstone in Fort Greene, where my Father still lives. Did you know his and a Next door Neighbor’s Brownstone were vandalized by Graffiti after my remarks on Gentrification at Pratt Institute? Curious you left that out of your article.

Since Lee's post was published on Monday, Scott took to Twitter to respond:

Scott's piece did largely paraphrase another article published in The New York Daily News, in which it was actually NY1's Errol Louis who took aim at the director for calling out gentrifers, when Scott himself had moved to the affluent neighborhood of the Upper East Side.

Nevertheless, Lee's letter concludes with an exhortation to Scott: "Mr. Scott, please learn 'SPREADIN’ LOVE IS THE BROOKLYN WAY.' WAKE UP WE BEEN HERE."

Along with her sisters (Khloe, Kendall and Kylie), Kim Kardashian spent Sunday, March 30, rocking a teeny bikini that complemented her killer curves. With the stunning blue-green sea as a backdrop, Kardashian took the opportunity to pose for a few photos for a friend at Phang-Nga Beach in Phuket.



The 33-year-old didn't spend the entire day at the beach; Kardashian also shared some sightseeing photos from her time in Thailand, posting snaps of herself in a floor-length white dress at a local temple.
