Kendall Jenner, Miley Cyrus Pose In Bed For Sexy W Magazine Photo Shoot

Miley Cyrus is baring more than her soul once again, posing topless for W magazine's beautiful "Pillow Tweets" photo shoot.

The 21-year-old singer had nothing to hide when it came time for photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott to snap the sexy shot. Kendall Jenner, Cindy Crawford, Miranda Kerr, and Lara Stone, to name a few, also posed in various states of undress for the stunning black and white photos.

It's no secret that Cyrus, who posed topless for German Vogue last week, fancies herself something of a nudist, telling Ronan Farrow in her W magazine cover story, "We never were inside, and we never wore shoes. I think it’s why I like wearing no clothes so much and I’m always naked."

There's So Much More to Ireland Than Instagram

$
0

A picture might be worth a thousand words, but sometimes there's even more to it than meets the eye. Ireland Baldwin might affect a laid-back persona leading a life of luxury, but beneath those perceptions lies ambition, focus, and hard work.

This all came about the other morning when I awoke to see a familiar face on my Facebook newsfeed. But this was only somewhat surprising, because Ireland Baldwin deactivated her Facebook account over a year ago. Instead, the daughter of Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin was in the headlines for her recent Instagram and Twitter activity. And having gone to school with her for over ten years I decided to shoot Ireland a text so we could catch up and talk about some of the consequences of her burgeoning career.

Ireland is in the process of moving from Manhattan Beach to Manhattan. The Northeast has just been pummeled by a blizzard, and she can't get over how crazy it is to see this much snow on the ground. She's in town for Fashion Week and a few other shows and is looking at apartments in the process. "It's a big opportunity," she tells me. And I could tell that she wasn't taking it lightly.

I congratulate her on her success over the last year but am surprised to learn that she doesn't want to model long-term. Several people in her life encouraged the 18-year-old to try modeling, saying it would be an ideal starting point to switch over to acting. But Ireland has different plans. "I want to work more behind the camera," she says, as she confesses that her dream jobs include working as a photographer for National Geographic or covering extreme sports as well as trying her hand at writing, directing, and producing for film. She explains that modeling is a great way to save money for camera equipment and that she hopes to matriculate to film school in the next year.

It turns out that Ireland wants to avoid the camera in more ways than one. "My goal for the year is to share less." Baldwin believes that many social media users have a tendency to over-share (herself not excluded), and she hopes to be more discerning with the content she publishes in the coming year.

Much of what Ireland shares on Instagram and Twitter is part of her job. Part of her current job entails taking pictures of herself. "I am my own subject," she explains. "And a lot of times I'm thanking particular hair and makeup artists in my posts." But beyond that she uses social media outlets like Twitter and Instagram the same way anyone would. "I attend a lot of events, and I like to share certain moments with people. It's a lot like scrapbooking for our generation," she says.

So when I asked Ireland about public concern over the content of some of her pictures she was unfazed. "(Early on) I'd see things and people would send me articles, and it used to bother me. But I've just sort of moved past that now." Ireland doesn't care if people get upset about a picture that they think shows too much skin. Unlike so many people, she knows that "showing some skin" isn't a gateway for all sorts of hazards of a life in the public eye. And she says a lot of the pictures she posts come from a place of feeling good about her body and about staying healthy and working out. "Pictures don't do me justice," she says. And after talking on the phone for an hour it became as clear as ever before: Ireland Baldwin is so much more than the pictures.

'I'm Rick James, B*tch!' Classic 'Chappelle Show' Sketch Turns 10

It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since Charlie Murphy told one of the funniest stories of all time on "Chappelle's Show," but the classic Rick James "True Hollywood Stories" sketch aired exactly a decade ago today.

Over on Reddit, people have been reminiscing about the groundbreaking Comedy Central show and the role this particular sketch played in Dave Chappelle's sudden withdrawal from fame.

After the show skyrocketed in popularity during Season 2 and "I"m Rick James, B*tch!" became an instant catchphrase, Chappelle struggled with hecklers yelling it at him-- even at Disney World. He talks about it in his 2004 special, "For What It's Worth" (about 25:18 in):

After avoiding the public eye for some time, Chappelle started doing more surprise stand-up sets and even popped up on Twitter in 2012 and had a comeback in 2013 when he headlined Funny Or Die's five-weekend Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival with Flight of the Conchords. Unfortunately, he still had to end one of his performances in Hartford early due to hecklers.

In the hopes that we continue to see more comedy from Chappelle (and that people learn to let him do his thing without interruption) watch Chappelle's hilarious Rick James impression in Charlie Murphy's "True Hollywood Story," which is just as ridiculous as ever, above.

And remember: "Cocaine is one hell of a drug." Be careful.

Robin Wright Talks Marrying Again And Her 'Devastating' Divorce From Sean Penn

Robin Wright's recent Golden Globe win for her role in "House of Cards" isn't the only thing she's been celebrating as of late: she's also newly engaged to fiancé Ben Foster.

In a new interview with The Telegraph, the 47-year-old actress said Foster’s proposal after two years of dating seemed like "such a shock," but that ultimately they "felt married anyway. We’ve been together ever since the first date.”

Wright and Foster, 33, met while co-starring in the 2011 crime drama "Rampart," roughly a year after she divorced long-time love Sean Penn. Foster invited Wright to a poetry recital at the premiere of "Rampart" -- something she said was a major first.

“I’d never, ever been asked out on a date before,” she told the Telegraph. “Never. I was frickin’ married my whole life, and even before that I hadn’t been asked out.”

It's slightly hard to believe, but Wright has been married for much of her life. Before her marriage to Penn, the Golden Globe winner was married to Dane Witherspoon for two years in the 1980s. She told the Telegraph that her split from Penn after 14 years of marriage and two children together was "devastating."

"Divorce in and of itself, and with children, is devastating," she said. "Worse than that. One of the reasons why we got back together and broke up so much was trying to keep the family together. If you've got kids, it's a family, and you try again, and you try again. We did that for a long time."

Today their relationship is much different: "Sean sees the kids," Wright said. "They see him. They see me. We've all got our own lives."

Penn's own life includes actress Charlize Theron, whom he recently confirmed he's dating.

Lorde's No-Makeup, Acne-Cream Selfie Only Further Proves Her Awesomeness

Lorde has multiple Grammys to her name and millions of dollars in the bank, but at the end of the day she's just a regular 17-year-old girl.

The "Royals" singer further proved her awesomeness when she shared an au naturel selfie with her 767,000 followers on Instagram Monday (Feb. 10). In the photo, a makeup-free Lorde poses in bed. Her face is dotted with acne cream and her hair is tied up in a messy bun -- a look many high schoolers are familiar with.

"in bed in paris with my acne cream on," she wrote.

Fans loved the stripped down pic and responded with messages like "RESPECT" and "Love u." In 24 hours, it received more than 95,000 likes.

Later, she posted an excerpt from Lena Dunham's Vogue profile about being real with the public. She said the quote really "resonated" with her.

The New Zealander has opened up about struggling with self-consciousness before. During an interview with Rookie magazine last month, Lorde offered up some advice for others who might be dealing with insecurities.

"It’s so hard, especially when you put yourself out there creatively," she said. "Just take pride in what you do. Take photos of yourself wearing super weird clothes and love how it looks and be happy with that and be happy if other people hate them, ’cause sometimes there’s some fun in that too. [Laughs] But that’s a hard one, and everyone deals with it on some level."

Coolest. 17-year-old. Ever.

This Is What Happens When You Invite RGIII To Your Wedding

Robert Griffin III may have had a disappointing season last year, but that doesn't mean he's keen on disappointing his fans.

Even when that means fielding wedding invitations from fans you're unlikely to meet, carefully checking off the "sadly decline" response option, then signing it with a flourish. Zach Curley and his fiancée, Teresa Daley, sent the Washington Redskins quarterback just such an invite, and were amazed to receive a prompt response.

Reached for comment by The Washington Post, Curley said he was "shocked."

“Just that somebody as big as RGIII would take the time, right away, to write something back — I thought that was really cool," Curley told the Post. "Obviously I’ll be a Redskins fan all my life, but he will be my favorite player from now on, until the end of time.”

RGIII even followed up on Curley's thank-you response with an understated tweet, writing back, "No prob man enjoy."

Last year, Peyton Manning responded to a fan's wedding invite in a similarly classy manner.

NEW YORK (AP) — Neil Patrick Harris has given way to Hugh Jackman at the Tony Awards.

Producers of the annual telecast celebrating the best of Broadway said Tuesday that Jackman will once again take up hosting duties for the next awards on June 8 at Radio City Music Hall. It will be Jackman's fourth time hosting the Tonys. He previously emceed the show from 2003-2005.

Jackman, best known for being the hairy Wolverine in "The X-Men" franchise, was last on Broadway with a one-man show in 2011 that routinely sold out the 1,176-seat Broadhurst Theatre and usually posted weekly grosses of $1.5 million.

It was his third time on the Great White Way, following "The Boy From Oz" in 2003 and the play "A Steady Rain" with Daniel Craig in 2009. He had hoped to be back in the musical "Houdini" but he pulled out of that project.

Jackman's other stage credits include Australian productions of "Sunset Boulevard" and "Beauty and the Beast." In London he starred as Curly in Trevor Nunn's staging of Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Oklahoma!" He also was in the Oscar-nominated film "Les Miserables" directed by Tom Hooper.

The official eligibility cut-off date for the Tonys this year will be April 24, meaning all shows hoping to be considered for the awards must open by that date. Nominations will be announced April 29.

Last year's telecast saw viewership jump to 7.24 million people, the show's largest audience in four years. Harris hosted for the fourth time but he'll be on Broadway this spring in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch."

With Monday’s exciting news that Fred Armisen will lead the “Late Night with Seth Meyers” band, we can’t help ourselves from wondering what to expect.

It’s no surprise that Meyers brought on his former “SNL” castmate to command the 8G Band, since music has always been a part of Armisen’s sketches. He even played drums in the band Trenchmouth and in the Blue Man Group (WHAT?!). Knowing Armisen’s penchant for hilarious, wacky musical sketches, these are some things we’re hoping to see from the new “Late Night” band -- we know we’re dreaming big, but why not?

Some serious drum action.

'Achy Breaky 2' Releases from Billy Ray Cyrus and Buck 22

As far as Billy Ray Cyrus is concerned, to put a "hip-hop spin" on his 1992 hit single, "Achy Breaky Heart," all he needed was a bevy of scantily clad women, some new dance moves, and a guest appearance from Larry King (of all people). The country star, who is likely best known these days for being the father of Miley Cyrus, teamed up with rapper Buck 22 to release "Achy Breaky 2" with a new beat and an added rap verse. The 52-year-old singer may have taken inspiration from his daughter, who has expanded her range to rap music in recent months, telling Billboard, "A lot of people wanted to try to make me the white Nicki Minaj. That’s not what I’m trying to do. I love ‘hood’ music, but my talent is as a singer." Take a look at Billy Ray's attempted foray into the world of hip-hop below.

'Let It Go' According To Google Translate Is A Hilarious Mess (VIDEO)

For now, at least, Google Translate isn't as accurate as a human translator. Words tend to slip and slide as if on ice, and the more translations you pile onto a single phrase, the stranger and more awkward it becomes.

Vassar College student Malinda Kathleen Reese recently performed a lyrical experiment where she used the site to translate "Let It Go," the song from Disney's "Frozen" that has taken over the Internet, one-by-one through a dozen languages.

The results are hilarious, as expected.

Reese warns in the description that she "can't belt like Idina Menzel," but if we're being honest, the power of her voice delivering the truly ridiculous lyrics was half the fun.

Tom Brokaw Reveals Cancer Diagnosis, Says 'I Remain The Luckiest Guy I Know'

NBC News legend Tom Brokaw revealed Tuesday that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

The 74-year-old former "NBC Nightly News" anchor said that he has multiple myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells in bone marrow. NBC News said that he was given the diagnosis last August.

In a note to NBC staffers obtained by HuffPost, NBC News president Deborah Turness and NBCUniversal News Group chairman Pat Fili-Krushel said that Brokaw, who has worked at the network since 1966, had been given an optimistic prognosis by his doctors.

"We all love Tom dearly and so we are pleased to let you know that he and his physicians are very encouraged with the progress he is making," they wrote.

Brokaw has continued to work consistently throughout his treatment, and Turness and Fili-Krushel said that work would continue. He issued a statement of his own soon after, calling himself "the luckiest guy I know."

Brokaw was honored with the Ambassador of Hope Award from the University of Nebraska Medical Center's Eppley Cancer Center in 2006 for his contributions to the fight against cancer. At that time, he said, "I don't know any family in America who has not had some kind of really unsettling and ultimately difficult experience with cancer."

Here is Brokaw's full statement:

“With the exceptional support of my family, medical team and friends, I am very optimistic about the future and look forward to continuing my life, my work and adventures still to come.

I remain the luckiest guy I know.

I am very grateful for the interest in my condition but I also hope everyone understands I wish to keep this a private matter."

State Dinner For Francois Hollande Has French Twist

$

WASHINGTON (AP) — Caviar and cotton candy are on the menu. Bradley Cooper is on the guest list. Mary J. Blige is set to perform. Yet much of the focus for Tuesday's glitzy state dinner for French President Francois Hollande centers on the fact that he's flying solo following a very public breakup from his first lady after being caught in a tryst with another woman.

Call it dinner with a French twist. The White House did its straight-faced best to keep the attention on anything but "l'affaire Hollande," preparing an outsized dinner-for-350 spread of pomp and pageantry in a giant party tent on the South Lawn. (There's no room inside the White House that can handle that many guests.)

But all eyes focused on who would be seated next to President Barack Obama — in the seat traditionally reserved for the guest of honor's spouse or companion.

It was still a mystery even as Hollande arrived at the White House after dusk, stepping out of his limo and onto a red carpet to greet Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, who wore a black, hand-sewn beaded embroidery appliqué scallop-edged top with three-quarter length sleeves over a liberty blue silk gown designed by Carolina Herrera.

Leading businessmen, A-list actors and prominent politicians adorned the guest list, released by the White House just as guests were arriving. Actors Bradley Cooper, who speaks French, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the star of the HBO series "Veep," whisked past reporters as they made their way into the high-profile social event. The Rev. Al Sharpton, former NBA player Jason Collins and entrepreneur Elon Musk were also invited.

In a midterm election year, the Obamas were packing in one of their largest-ever dinner crowds, and more than two dozen donors to Obama's campaigns and the Democratic Party appeared on the guest list. Among them were Irwin Jacobs, the Qualcomm Inc. founder who has given more than $2 million to pro-Obama super PACs, and Jane Stetson, the Democratic National Committee's finance chair.

In the kind of awkward timing that gives protocol officers ulcers, the White House last fall invited Hollande and his longtime girlfriend, Valerie Trierweiler, to come for a state visit, the first such honor for France in two decades. But then just weeks ago, the two abruptly split after a tabloid caught a helmeted Hollande zipping via motorcycle to a liaison with actress Julie Gayet.

Questions immediately began to swirl about who might accompany Hollande — old girlfriend? new girlfriend? — but the 59-year-old leader ultimately decided to come stag, forcing the White House social team to make behind-the-scenes adjustments after months of choreography and planning.

Just in case Hollande wanted to change his mind, Vogue, Washingtonian and other publications offered up all sorts of tongue-in-cheek suggestions for suitable dinner companions, heavy on actresses with a French connection. French-American Julie Delpy, perhaps? Paris-born Emmanuelle Seigner?

Lost in all the speculation: Hollande is far from the first world leader to sup at the White House sans companion.

China's Hu Jintao didn't bring his wife to a state dinner in 2011. Hollande's predecessor, Nicolas Sarkozy, soloed at an official White House dinner in November 2007, a month after divorcing his wife.

The White House tapped into social media to gin up excitement for the French visit.

Michelle Obama's team tweeted a photo of pickled vegetables from the White House kitchen garden to be used in the four-course dinner celebrating American cuisine, and a YouTube video shows the kitchen team at work. The main course: dry-aged rib eye beef from a family farm in Colorado, with Jasper Hill Farm blue cheese from Vermont.

The mansion's chefs temporarily took over the White House Instagram account this week to document dinner prep. One behind-the-scenes revelation: They used a paint sprayer to distribute a micro-thin layer of chocolate over the creamy ganache cake on the dessert menu. Also part of the dessert lineup: cotton candy dusted with orange zest.

For all of the planning to ensure that everything is just right, Obama has had to contend with plenty of state dinner complications — contretemps involving both who gets in and who opts out.

A 2009 dinner for India was overshadowed by revelations that aspiring reality TV stars Michaele and Tareq Salahi had managed to slip in without an invitation. A planned state visit and dinner for Brazil last October was scrapped with barely a month's notice after President Dilma Rousseff opted to stay home to protest U.S. surveillance of overseas targets, including her own country.

The laws of supply and demand have made invitations to Obama's state dinners especially coveted. Over the last five years, the president has held just six state or official dinners. George W. Bush also was stingy with state dinners, holding just six over his eight years in office, while Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan reveled in the glitzy affairs. Clinton played host to 30 state or official visits, and Reagan more than 50.

Neil Patrick Harris Sings In Sexy Music Video For Neuro Sleep

Do you lie awake at night, tossing and turning in your satin pajamas? You just can't manage to fall asleep, no matter how hard you try? Has it become such a problem that you just want to sing about it?

Apparently, you and Neil Patrick Harris have a lot in common … at least according to his music video promoting Neuro Sleep.

Harris stars in the steamy music video with rapper Problem and singer Asher Monroe to kick off the "SLEEP with Neuro" campaign. The result is a hilariously gif–able two and a half minutes of the "How I Met Your Mother" star swooning over the sleep aid beverage, seductively licking the bottle.

The ad comes as a response to Neuro's survey which asked customers who they'd most like to have a slumber party with. The company reports that 35% of those they interviewed went with Neil Patrick Harris and Neuro happily granted their wish with the help of Macklemore's "Thrift Shop" director Jon Jon Augustavo.

Trying to sleep as well as NPH croons? Neuro is giving away a million bottles of their Sleep elixir. That should guarantee Harris some restorative shuteye as he prepares to end his nine years on "How I Met Your Mother." Hopefully, it will help us too.
