'They Somehow Found A Way To Top Last Year'

Last week, Joe Manganiello was in New York City promoting Magnum Gold (?!) ice cream with the premiere of the Magnum-sponsored short film "As Good As Gold" at the Tribeca Film Festival. (Yes, he jokes, the man behind Magic Mike‘s Big Dick Richie shilling Magnum is “synergy.” See a photo from when he popped by the EW offices below.) But don’t worry, the actor’s still in top form filming the new season of HBO’s True Blood, which premieres June 16.

From The 'Good Ship Lollipop' To Bold And Beautiful

Shirley Temple will always be remembered as the sweet curly-haired girl whose infectious smile and dance skills charmed a nation. The American film and television actress started her career early; by the age of three she was already dancing. Temple retired from this industry in her teens and went on to sit on the boards of many prestigious companies, including The Walt Disney Company.

By the 1960s the former actress had developed political aspirations and had run (unsuccessfully) for Congress. She was, however, appointed United States Ambassador to Ghana in 1974 and to Czechoslovakia in 1989.

The Los Angeles native, whose signature song, "On the Good Ship Lollipop" was the face of wholesome family entertainment in the 1930s and her style reflected her youth. Bobbysocks and collared dresses accompanied her corkscrew curls, and later, her style became more fitting for a young lady in tailored blouses and skirts. Her style in the '80s and '90s was apropos of the era: bright colors and bold silhouettes.

As for that drink that's named in her honor? On her 10th birthday, a bartender at a Beverly Hills restaurant is said to have created a non-alcoholic cocktail to serve to her while she dined with her parents and older celebrities.

In honor of Shirley Temple's 85th birthday today (April 23), we are taking a look back at her most memorable fashion moments.

Rupert Murdoch Gives Transcendental Meditation A Try

Media tycoon Rupert Murdoch is the latest in a line of celebrities to take up Transcendental Meditation, the practice of meditating while repeating a mantra to lower stress levels and induce a sense of calm. Murdoch follows in the footsteps of loyal celebrity TM devotees like David Lynch, Oprah and Candy Crowley.

Yesterday, Murdoch tweeted to his nearly 430,000 followers:

Although meditation may not make everything better, it has been demonstrated to have a number of mental and physical health benefits, including lower stress levels, greater success achieving weight-loss goals, improved focus and better grades, and a lower risk of depression among adolescents and pregnant women. Transcendental Meditation in particular has been linked to lower blood pressure, reduce risk of heart disease and enhanced longevity.

Hollywood director David Lynch is an outspoken advocate of Transcendental Meditation, and started the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace to educate others on the transformational potential of TM.

“Things like traumatic stress and anxiety and tension and sorrow and depression and hate and bitter, selfish anger and fear start to lift away," Lynch said of his TM practice to the New York Times.

CNN anchor Candy Crowley, too, has said that TM helps her to handle stress and learn to cope with negative emotions.

Heather Wagner: It's Her Party & She'll Scream If She Wants To

Note: Do not read on if you have not yet seen Season 8, Episode 4 of Bravo's "Real Housewives of Orange County," titled "It's My Party and I'll Scream If I Want To."

Before launching into this recap, I must divert your eyeballs to Huffington Post contributor/NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who posted a whip-smart, utterly engrossing take on "The Real Housewives" and the reality genre at large.

To see his theories in action, let's ease on down the 405 for the latest installment in the "OC Housewives" saga, forebodingly titled "It's My Party and I'll Scream If I Want To."

Le shriek ... c'est chic? We shall see.

We open on Vicki, wearing a sausage casing-taut maxi dress in cascading tones of red, white, blue and puzzlingly, purple. Alexis stops by to offer her support for Vicki's recent "doctor visit," bearing a welcome-to-collagen gift. It's a bejeweled mirror, to make Vicki realize how beautiful she truly is. A questionable choice for a freshly minted plastic surgery junkie, but I'll give Alexis props for good intentions.

Tamra and Eddie's CUT Fitness opening gala is this week, and Vicki implores Alexis to be her date. This seems a bit suspicious -- a whiff of producer prodding. Why would Alexis, who is vocal about being on the outs with the group, put herself in that precarious position? The thin rationale is that Alexis is Vicki's new BFF and will go into the shark tank to support her.

Alexis announces that she'll also bring new cast member Lydia along for the ride, and caveats this with, "You think I'm Christian? Lydia is Christian on steroids." Eek.

We alight to Heather and Terry's manse, where Heather drily asks her husband if the electric fuchsia blousy look she's working is a good "radio outfit." Apparently Heather is an occasional guest host on KFI AM 640 (literary nerd note: This is the station of right wing-nut John Ziegler, as profiled in David Foster Wallace's legendary Atlantic essay, "Host").

The on-air topic is, of course, bullying. Heather speaks of being bullied at a young age and how it drove her into The Theater, as Terry looks through the glass adoringly. Next, Heather and Terry go out on the town with Lydia and Doug at a nondescript Mexican restaurant of the upscale airport-bar variety.

They discuss the lingering possibility of the Dubrow's house being featured in Beverly Hills Lifestyle Magazine. Doug demurs, "I wish I could offer you the cover, but I have to go with a household name, like Helen Hunt or Kristin Chenoweth."

In other words, major A-list. Heather is not amused.

Lydia rolls her buggy eyes skyward and deflects conversation to the social event of the season -- the CUT Fitness dinner. "I'm excited to meet all the ladies," she says, sounding appropriately terrified.

Meanwhile, Slade is heading to New York to see his 12-year-old son, who is having surgery for an unnamed condition. It sounds serious. Gretchen interviews that it will be hard on her, because she's used to being with Slade every day. Then she sheds some tears on her turquoise rope necklace over Slade's plight as a father with a sick child. Despite last season's Slade-as-Deadbeat-Dad storyline I genuinely feel for him and hope for the best here.

Preparing for their CUT Fitness unveiling, Eddie patiently deals with a Tamra-Tantrum. Yes, she allowed that Alexis could come to the party, but she doesn't want to hear any (finger quotes) bully nonsense. Then she says her stomach hurts and she's going to the bathroom to "get it all out of her," at which point Eddie says, "Oh baby, don't forget to flush."

Is this a thinly veiled eating disorder reference or just a case of garden-variety irritable bowel syndrome? I'll be charitable and assume the latter.

It's party time! CUT Fitness has been transformed from a nondescript concrete bunker to an "amaze-balls" pink-lit, rose-bedecked relatively high-end caterer-devised paradise. Tamra hovers over the dining room table and makes a point of pointing out customized "special glasses for special friends" (a.k.a. Gretchen, Heather).

Over classier stemware at Chez Dubrow, Gretchen and Heather pregame and mull over the what-ifs. Gretchen thinks it's crazy that Alexis is going to the event, botches a "Mean Girls" lunchroom metaphor, and intones that Alexis is "asking for it" by attending the party. Which .... is, um, bullying, right?

Meanwhile, Vicki, Alexis and Lydia convene at Vicki's place. It turns out that Lydia, in addition to being a hugger and 'roiding Christian, is also a "Woo-Hoo"-er and hence, Vicki is enamored. The lines of demarcation are clearly drawn.

Since "Housewives" consider bogus spiritualists to be on the same rarefied plane as chilled moscato, Tamra has enlisted a psychic to come in and read/bless the CUT space before her guests arrive. It is deemed that all will be well in a few weeks hence, but not tonight. Tamra's trepidation deepens, as she declares that she's going to look Alexis in the face and say, "Why the f*** are you here?"

Which, pause for a moment. I understand that these two have issues. We know that Alexis (or her Disneyworld Country Bear Jamboree husband Jim) threatened to sue Tamra after alleged derogatory comments last season. But Alexis was, albeit as a plus-one, invited to the party. Tamra had the option of turning her down. And she didn't. So, the right thing to do is to welcome her and be as decorous as possible, correct? As un-bullying as possible?

Instead, as the group enters, Tamra goes crazy-shark-eyed and intones, "There she is. The girl that wants to sue me. Walking into my business."

And walk in Alexis does, along with hapless Lydia and frozen-faced Vicki who brandishes an oversize orchid/succulent planter reminiscent of the Adrienne Maloof arrangement-of-shame. There are stilted greetings all around.

Gretchen and Heather arrive. Heather adroitly remarks that the décor looks like "The Bachelor." Everyone takes a seat, sipping mojitos in lowball glasses. Alexis tentatively congratulates Tamra on her business acumen, saying, "It takes a lot -- anything, a small dress line, it takes a lot." To which Gretchen makes a jerk-off motion.

Now it's ON. Two couches, two sides: Lydia, Alexis, and Vicki versus Heather, Gretchen, and Tamra. Lydia gives Gretchen a backhanded compliment about being too pretty to not be married yet. Tamra touts the industrial nature of the space, and then Vicki announces that her company, Coto Insurance, is just across the street, which is perfect in the event that someone gets injured at Tamra's gym.

"This is so beyond awkward and weird," Gretchen accurately assesses. As viewers of these shows, we've collectively sat through a lot of tense dinners, but this one takes the crab cake.

Tamra stares smoky-eyed daggers at Alexis and says, "I have to be 100 percent honest. I don't know why you wanted to come here. The last I heard from you, your husband wanted to sue me."

Alexis pulls the now officially maxed-out bully card and says, "I don't need to get ganged up on once again," pointing at Heather.

Heather counters, "Don't point your finger at me."

Then, after Alexis bleats out a protest, Heather says perhaps the greatest dinner party diss of all time: "I've glazed over. I can't hear you anymore."

Alexis then sallies forth, ordering Heather to stop talking, and at long last, Tamra has had "enough." She kicks Alexis out of the party, semi-physically removing her from her chair. Then, she demands Vicki to choose sides -- now.

I don't know about you, dear reader, but I've certainly found myself on the wrong side of a good friend and it feels, for lack of a better word, miserable. It's a heartache that cuts deeper than romantic loss or familial estrangement, because so often it is our female friends that we love the most purely; that we relate to with the deepest complexity, and that we give to so freely, with nothing in return but the promise of their acceptance and companionship. And when, through the faults of our own or out of unforeseen circumstances, that friendship is abruptly cut off, a chilling, confusing sort of terror sets in -- a despair that settles like a discordant cloud of Saks perfume samples at a CUT Fitness soiree.

For the love of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, help me understand these women's bizarre machinations. You there, sharp-eyed commenters, please assist in making some sense of it all!

Next week, Vicki faces Don withdrawl. Alexis plans her revenge. There are seemingly fresh roots on everyone! Till then, my friends!

"Real Housewives Of Orange County" airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.

3 Doors Down Bassist In Rehab After Arrest In Fatal Crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The bassist for the rock band 3 Doors Down has checked himself into a drug treatment facility after bonding out of jail, the musician's lawyer said Wednesday.

Robert Todd Harrell is accused of driving under the influence and causing a fatal crash last weekend in a Nashville suburb. Police say the 41-year-old bassist admitted to drinking and taking prescription drugs before the wreck on Friday.

"He was released on bond and immediately went and checked himself into treatment," said Nashville criminal defense lawyer Ed Ryan.

The attorney declined to say where the musician is being treated. However, he said that the treatment is not court-ordered and that Harrell went voluntarily. Ryan also said that he couldn't comment any further because he had just been retained and was beginning to look into the case.

Harrell spent several days in jail and was freed on $100,000 bond on Tuesday.

Police say the 41-year-old bassist was under the influence when he was speeding down Interstate 40 and clipped the back of a pickup truck. The driver of the truck, 47-year-old Paul Shoulders Jr. was killed as a result of the crash.

A publicist for 3 Doors Down announced this week that the band was canceling four of its upcoming appearances out of respect for the victim.

Harrell is facing multiple charges, including vehicular homicide by intoxication, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, violation of the implied consent law and possession of contraband.

Police records say that Harrell seemed to be confused about the crash and what happened, and he showed signs of being impaired during a series of field sobriety tests. Harrell admitted to drinking hard cider earlier in the evening and to taking prescribed Lortab and Xanax, records show.

A breathalyzer test showed that Harrell had no alcohol in his system, records show. He refused to give a blood sample and told police that he was worried about narcotics showing up in his system, records say. Police were able to get the sample through a court order.

Harrell has had previous trouble with the law. He is scheduled to appear in a D'Iberville, Miss., court to answer a 2012 DUI charge next month. He was arrested in that city in July following an accident where he rear-ended another driver, D'Iberville Police Lt. Terry Hines said.

Records indicate that he was arrested in Pascagoula, Miss., in 1999 on a charge of public intoxication. Harrell, police said, was drunk and used profanity when talking to officers after being warned several times to keep him mouth shut. It's not clear if he was convicted on that charge.

Harrell, who currently lives just outside of Nashville, is from Mississippi. The band formed in Mississippi in the `90s and is known for such hits as "When I'm Gone" and "Kryptonite," did not elaborate on the statement.

WATCH: William Levy's New Roles Are Crazy

William Levy is demonstrating how versatile (and quite frankly a little crazy) he can get to be with a new Pepsi Next ad campaign.

The star is the new face of the soda company's commercials in which the actor dares to have fun and be irreverent playing stereotypical characters like an action hero, a Casanova, a science fiction guy, a rocker, a doctor and an old school divo.

"I had so much fun doing these commercials. The character I most enjoyed playing was the Casanova... And Rambo," Levy said while laughing. "Actually, we had many ideas and decided to go for this one. "

The Cuban actor also spoke exclusively with The Huffington Post and confessed he has plans to leave soap operas for a while (Sorry, ladies!) to work more in new types of projects.

The artist is currently living one of the best moments of his career. After participating in "Dancing With The Stars," new doors have opened for him to do what he has always dreamed of: making films in English.

"I still can’t believe it, it is what I dreamed about all my life, since [living] in Cuba, it’s what I’ve always wanted to do. And to put the name of Latinos up for me is a responsibility that makes me very happy," he says.

For him the opportunity to be part of the dance competition also helped “in the sense that they saw my work, and the importance the [Latino market] has in this country."

Levy, who began his career 10 years ago as part of a reality show that searched for new talented young actors, further claims he feels proud of the work decisions he has taken throughout his life.

"I do things that I feel to do.. I saw that 'DWTS' was important for my career instead of another film project that I had been offered to do. It all depends on how I feel with God and life," he says.

He has already appeared in two Hollywood films like "Addicted" and "Single Mom's Club," has made dozens of TV appearances and is currently part of what he assures will be his last soap opera, Univision’s "La Temperstad,” along with former Miss Universe Ximena Navarrete.

Take a look at the commercials above and the entire interview with William Levy in Spanish below.

When Celebrity Good Girls Go Bad

Reese Witherspoon shocked the world when news of her arrest hit the Internet April 21. The actress, who is seen as one of America's sweethearts, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct for getting into a verbal fight with a police officer following her husband Jim Toth's arrest in a DUI incident.

Witherspoon, who was under the influence of alcohol, allegedly asked the officer, "Do you know my name?" before adding, "You're about to find out who I am."

On Sunday night, she released a statement apologizing for her actions, saying, "I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse."

The mom-of-three has been a clean-cut golden girl in Hollywood, starring in films like "Sweet Home Alabama," "Legally Blonde" and "Walk the Line." Still, many believe this incident won't alter her squeaky-clean image.

Other celebrities don't get so lucky, though. Actresses like Amanda Bynes, Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton and Taylor Momsen have completely changed their images, allowing people to forget that they were once sweet and innocent child stars.

Let's take a look at some of the most infamous good girls gone bad:

PHOTOS: Charlotte Moss Reveals Her Gorgeous Gardens

When you're a renowned designer like Charlotte Moss, every detail in your home is expected to be just right -- and that includes your outdoor spaces as well. And lucky for us, the May/June issue of Veranda magazine gives us a glimpse into Moss' breathtaking gardens at her East Hampton home, which are just as artfully put together as her interiors.

When she and her husband Barry Friedberg bought their house in 1989, the backyard was anything but lush. The property included "skinny trees" and a "lonely pool." And there was no way Moss was going to allow her grounds to stay like that. So, she worked with Lisa Stamm of Homestead Garden and Design to make the space a green oasis with a series of "rooms" filled with multicolored grasses.

Over the years, however, the design has changed. Right now, Moss is obsessed with the gardens at Prieuré Notre-Dame d'Orsan in France. She even had the master gardeners from the site come and teach the art of creating unique hedge designs.

And while the whole space is impressive, we particularly find ourselves dreaming of having lunch with Charlotte under the locust canopy that's outfitted with an adorable table setting.

Click through our slideshow to see photos of this space. And be sure to head over to Veranda for more information. Also, don't forget to pick up your own copy of the May/June issue on stands May 7.

What, you mean "Accidental Racist" wasn't strange enough? You're longing for a musical collaboration that's more perplexing than LL Cool J and Brad Paisley joining forces?

We feel you, and we're seeing if the 21st century can provide one that is indeed wilder, odder and more -- how shall we put this? -- inventive. On "The Vampire Diaries," Elena (Nina Dobrev) has been wreaking some serious havoc on Mystic Falls ever since she turned off her humanity. And it looks like things are going to get worse.

Last week, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan's (Paul Wesley) efforts to bring some emotion back to the once overly-empathetic Elena failed miserably, but if The CW's new ad for the May 16th finale is any indication, she's not feeling anything any time soon.

Below, check out The Huffington Post's exclusive first look at the "Vampire Diaries" May sweeps ad, which features Elena and reads, "Feeling no pain. And it's torture."

the vampire diaries elena

After this week's episode, "The Originals," which serves as the backdoor pilot for "The Vampire Diaries" spinoff, there are only three episodes left in Season 4. Though there's no episode description for the finale, titled "Graduation," yet, showrunner Julie Plec teased to TVLine, "There’s going to be a lot of questions about, ‘Who am I? What am I going to do with my life? What am I meant to be? Where am I meant to go?’ ... All of our characters will be faced with that question as they make decisions about whether to stay or go, go to college, travel the world, break up, stay together. A lot of big, important life decisions as we say goodbye to the high school chapter of the show."

Plec also told TV Guide that all the seniors might not graduate. "Definitely not all of our wayward, delinquent students will be present when it comes time to collect their diplomas ... I'm not saying they won't be alive -- they just won't be able to extricate themselves, as graduation falls right in the middle of a crucial supernatural time."

Check out the episode descriptions for next week's episode and the penultimate episode below:

"She's Come Undone" (Thursday, May 2 at 8 p.m. ET)

LET'S MAKE A DEAL - Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) try a brutal new approach to provoke Elena (Nina Dobrev) into turning her humanity back on, and Caroline (Candice Accola) is frustrated when her attempt to intervene backfires. When Elena figures out a way to call the Salvatore brothers' bluff, they call for backup from a surprising source. Matt (Zach Roerig) gives Rebekah (Claire Holt) some unsolicited advice on her life choices, and she tries to help him in return. Caroline has a confusing and dangerous encounter with Klaus (Joseph Morgan), and Katherine (Nina Dobrev) is suspicious when Bonnie (Kat Graham) makes her an offer that she promises will benefit them both.

"The Walking Dead" (Thursday, May 9 at 8 p.m. ET)

SOMETHING WICKED - As Graduation Day approaches, Caroline (Candice Accola) tries to distract Elena (Elena Dobrev) by focusing on simple tasks like sending out announcements, but Elena won't be swayed from her new obsession. Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) calls Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) to the hospital, where someone has been attacking patients. Still trying to force Katherine (Elena Dobrev) to help her, Bonnie (Kat Graham) refuses to give up on her plan to defeat Silas. As a violent wind storm causes a power outage in Mystic Falls, ghosts suddenly appear - some with good intentions and some bent on revenge. Zach Roerig and Claire Holt also star.

"The Vampire Diaries" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.

Adrian Grenier's No. 1 Turn-On Is ...

These days, our knowledge of celebrities too often originates with paparazzi images and snarky quotes by anonymous "insiders." After a while, it's easy to forget that stars are real people. That's why HuffPost Celebrity decided to launch its all-new #nofilter quick-fire question-and-answer series. Because how well do you know someone until they've shared their guiltiest pleasures?

Get ready to see Adrian Grenier in the upcoming "Entourage" movie. The 36-year-old actor, who has stayed out of the spotlight since the show wrapped in 2011, is heading back to the big screen as he reprises his role of Vincent Chase alongside his former co-stars Jeremy Piven, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon and Jerry Ferrara.

Grenier briefly chatted with HuffPost Celebrity as he celebrated the U.S. launch of Magnum Gold?! Ice Cream during the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City on April 18, where he revealed his biggest turn-on and turn-off.

What’s your guilty pleasure?
Chocolate every day.

What’s your biggest turn-off?
Small-mindedness.

And what’s your turn-on?
Independence.

What’s on your nightstand?
A lamp, an old phone that doesn’t work -- kind of an antique one –- and usually a glass of water. And my cellphone … charging. I actually have a shoehorn on my nightstand. I never use it, but it seemed like a good place to put it at the time and I haven’t moved it in years.

If you could be anything aside from an actor, what would you be?
An architect or a therapist or a lawyer. I give good advice. In fact, I think I should probably have an advice column on The Huffington Post!

Who or what have you been jealous of lately?
I’ve been working on my jealousy for a long time, since I was in high school when I realized that it really held no value in my life. I think jealousy is probably the least beneficial emotion.

And obviously, you’re in “Entourage,” the movie, correct?
Without me, there would be no movie.

About Mondo:

Denver designer Mondo Guerra first endeared himself to an international audience in 2010 on Lifetime's Project Runway season 8. His innovative style and bold designs have captured the imagination of the fashion world, while his courageous story has inspired global support surrounding his HIV/AIDS activism.

Mondo returned to television in January 2012 on the debut season of Project Runway All Stars as one of 13 Runway veterans competing to prove they still have what it takes to rock the runway. In March 2012, Mondo emerged victorious from All Stars, claiming one of the largest prize packages in Runway history -- which includes an exclusive collection at Neiman Marcus available in 2013.

Mondo began his incredible journey in the fashion industry as a teenager, constructing a pair of green, faux-fur pants as his first garment. But the self-taught artist quickly moved beyond his humble beginnings. As his eclectic career developed, he secured positions such as a milliner's apprentice, then a designer for a NYC junior wear company, and eventually a costume designer.

In addition to his remarkable success on Project Runway, audiences rallied in support of Mondo following the emotional disclosure of his HIV-positive status on the show. Since his courageous confession, Mondo has become vigorous advocate for HIV/AIDS awareness. Currently, Mondo has partnered with Merck for an upcoming HIV and AIDS education campaign which underscores the importance for people living with HIV to talk with their doctor about important goals of treatment.

SEE EYEWEAR and Mondo have collaborated to offer an exclusive collection at their optical boutiques available nationwide in 2013. Mondo resides in Denver where he continues to develop his brand and business.

Mondo became a spokesperson for Dining Out for Life International (hosted by Subaru), an international fundraiser for HIV/AIDS service organizations, in 2013.

Bye, Bye, Michelle?

Take a good look at actress Michelle Rodriguez, because it could be one of the last times you see her in front of the camera before she quits acting. For the new Summer edition of Cosmopolitan for Latinas, the “Fast & Furious” star confessed she might just escape from the big screen, and begin a new moment in her career out of the public eye.

“The truth is I’m about to say goodbye to acting for a minute and move behind the camera,” said the actress to the magazine. “I got into this business to write. I’ve waited 13 years to actually do it. But like now I’m ready, so that means I have to do the cutoff. I’ll go into the mountains, and bye-bye everybody.”

She also assures she is determined to overcome her troubled past, which represents a day-to-day process for her.

“I had some bad moments. I partied hard. The world knew it. I feel like my growth is a progression,” the artist says. “I go forward, and I’ve had times when I go back. Just last year I had a time where I had a bad stretch. I rebel against everything, including myself.”

The Dominican-Puerto Rican star, who looked stunning on the magazine’s photo shoot in a tight green dress, and two revealing long gowns showing her toned figure, admits when it comes to her style she can just “make anything sexy,” and feels more drawn to masculine guys.

michelle rodriguez

“I’m attracted to manly men. I can’t do metrosexuals who get their nails done more than me. Which is why, living in LA for eight years, you can’t blame me or not having a partner,” she said.

On the response the actress gets from Latinos about the “Fast & Furious” franchise the actress explains she can relate to them and their personal experiences in the United States.

“[The movie] definitely comes up first for Latin folks... They can relate because there are a lot of blue-collar individuals that feel like outsiders just by being in this country. It makes you think that living on the other side of the tracks is just a better option,” she says.

The new issue of Cosmopolitan for Latinas is expected to be available in stands on April 30th. “Fast & Furious 6” is planned to hit theaters next month.

That soothing voice made Fitzgerald standout among bluesier vocalists such as Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae and Dinah Washington, and it reassured the Virginia native that her place was in the spotlight.

Fitzgerald got her first big break back in 1934 during Amateur Night at Harlem's Apollo Theater. Intending to show off her dance moves, she quickly changed her mind after an intimidating performance by the Edwards Sisters. Fitzgerald's last-minute decision to belt out a rendition of Hoagy Carmichael's "Judy" earned her the $25 first place prize.

The jazz singer's natural talent led to her joining the Tiny Bradshaw band, performing alongside the Chick Webb Orchestra and recording a jovial version of the nursery rhyme "A-Tisket, A-Tasket," that went on to sell one million copies. Fitzgerald's fame really took off and she weathered the civil rights era thanks to celebrity fans like Marilyn Monroe.

Having recorded more than 200 albums and won 13 Grammy Awards, the NAACP Image Award for Lifetime Achievement and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the "First Lady of Song" also deserves serious style accolades for her fabulous frocks that accentuated her curvy figure. But she may not have accepted this praise so easily.

Fitzgerald once said about her looks, "I know I'm no glamour girl, and it's not easy for me to get up in front of a crowd of people. It used to bother me a lot, but now I've got it figured out that God gave me this talent to use, so I just stand there and sing."

So in honor of what would've been Ella Fitzgerald's 96th birthday on Thursday (April 25), we are taking a look back at her greatest outfits.

La Toya Jackson stopped by HuffPost Live on Wednesday to dish on her new reality series on OWN, "Life with La Toya." Also on the agenda? Opening up about her abusive ex-husband, Jack Gordon.

"He felt that he owned me and he controlled me, he abused me, he did all these things to me and I never thought that I would get away," she told host Marc Lamont Hill.

Ultimately, Jackson was able to end the relationship and filed for divorce in 1996 after seven years of marriage. She told Hill that she hopes her story inspires others.

"I want women to know that...you can live your life, you can regain and re-own yourself and be free and do whatever you want to do. You can start over as long and as many times as you want until you feel that you've gotten it right," she said.

Vicky Tiel: The World Is Divided Into Two Types of Humans; Artists and Everyone Else

Artists see the world differently than ordinary humans. Artists can have all the money in the world, or no money or some money, but no amount of money can buy their happiness, nor can fame, nor can glory, as no amount of these human pleasures get the artist's joystick going!

What is happiness for an artist?

2013-04-24-photoV2.JPG

If you are married to an artist and you ask, "What can I do to make my wife or husband happy," the answer my friend is quite simply this...

An artist has to create something; a play, a performance, an opera, a dress, a car, a painting, a garden, a great soup, an invention. It's as simple as that. The act of creation (being like God), is the end all and the be all for an artist.

Yet creation is only halfway to happiness for an artist. The final half is to be told by another human, " I love that!" Then you really "make my day."

The worst thing you can say to an artist is, "I find your work interesting." We prefer you say, " I don't like that. It's not my cup of tea." We can except that we are all different, but that statement reads indifference. It is dismissive. If you are craving communication and understanding you hate being dismissed.

Creation is not only godlike, creation is communication. It connects humans. Artists are often attracted to other artists as friends and lovers. My first husband was a Hollywood makeup man, a great artist who could draw, sculpt, cook and garden. We rode motorcycles, looked good, hung out at cool places and worked at our art while we raised two boys in France, a dream place for artists to reside.

However, we were both dreamers, both very competitive over our successes and maybe we never had a serious conversation in 20 years as "reality" was not part of our equation. Having a lot of famous people love our work was our magic.

Luckily, I listened to a French astrologer who said to me after my divorce, "Find a man in a different category. Don't marry another artist, marry someone who doesn't compete with you."

Fortunately, I took his advice and married a fishing boat captain, an ex Marine and a man of the earth. He can wake me up from my dreamy worldscape and say, "The roof is leaking," while I am enjoying the peaceful sound of soft water running while I draw.

The non artist is a reality lover, living in the here and now without a desire to dream up anything. The non artist, like my husband, thinks without a desire to create, he leaves his thinking to everyday life and a down-to-earth ability to fix things, build a house after a good plan, find food, and solve the real problems like, "What school should my children attend," "What TV shows our children should watch," "What car should I buy," or simply, "Your tires are flat." He tells me, "We need a new refrigerator," or "This electrical fence is not pretty, but it keeps deer away from our vegetables," or "Your pink vintage decor on our porches is hiding the snakes!"

The artist has a hard time caring about anything "serious" like how good is the kid's school, how the TV or the car works, let alone think about snakes!

Ram Dass says," When you wash the dishes, wash the dishes... Be Here Now." I try to be here now, but my eye is drawn to a great shoe, the color of a leaf, the ombré of the greys in the sky, and what blouse fabric would show it well, or a mountain in the distance and imagining how I would paint it, in oil or in acrylic ? And boom, I crash my car! So far I have totaled five cars. I don't drive much.

In Hollywood art directors say, "If you can dream it up it will happen one day." The artist has a world in their head; today's world or the next world; life on Mars when we get there or the Matrix world that you live in simultaneously; the undersea world down in the ocean deep that leads to another entrée to the 13th Matrix world!

I do often feel as if I'm living in several dimensions at once. If we dream it up in movies, then humans will be there soon.

The artist exclaims, "This is the past, present and future as I see it. Look and see what I see." This idea I see makes me happy, and it will make you happy to understand life as seen thru my eyes. Finally, this desire to communicate between humans is the fundamental motor behind all art.

I have already written a piece on "Art is whatever the artist has to say." I have plans to write whatever I want to say from now on, as I started writing at the age of 60. I plan to only paint my last years from 80 (when my thinking should get impaired), until my death. To paint I don't have to think.

I have told my children to send me back to Paris to die, so I can eat French and have great oil and brushes to paint like Grandma Moses (who began painting in her late seventies), as Naive art (my style) is a perfect medium for old ladies, with small canvases, manageable brushes and soft, easy brush strokes.

I want to die with a brush between my toes and plan on doing my art, whatever art, whatever I have to say, until I die.

Also..........
When you rest, you rust.
When you stop moving they throw dirt on you.

'Sabrina, The Teenage Witch': Where Are They Now?

"Sabrina, The Teenage Witch" has been off the air for exactly 10 years now.

The young adult sitcom -- which followed Melissa Joan Hart as the titular Sabrina Spellman, her 500-year-old aunts Hilda (Caroline Rhea) and Zelda (Beth Broderick) and her talking cat Salem Saberhagen (voiced by Nick Bakay) -- made its debut in 1996 as part of ABC's T.G.I.F. lineup.

After four seasons, the network gave the series the axe, but shortly thereafter The WB picked up "Sabrina" -- the then-college-aged witch -- for a fifth, sixth and seventh season. The final episode, which aired on April 24, 2013, saw Sabrina leave her fiance Aaron (Dylan Neal, who -- fun fact -- also played Pacey Witter's older brother Doug on "Dawson's Creek") at the altar and ride off into the sunset with her high school sweetheart Harvey Kinkle (Nate Richert) while No Doubt played in the background.

Over the course of its seven seasons, "Sabrina, The Teenage Witch" saw a lot of its series regulars come and go, from the unexplained departure of Sabrina's Season 1 best friend Jenny Kelly (Michelle Beaudoin) to her college roomates played by two well-known child stars.

Recently, Hart said she could probably be convinced to reconnect with her former "Sabrina, The Teenage Witch" co-stars. "I might consider [a reunion special], but it's always tough to go back," Hart told omg! Insider earlier this month. "It's so tough to go back and make it right, make it really good. You have one shot to get it really right -- everybody always looks older, things have changed ... Those reunions seem so exciting, but in reality I think they don't always work out as well as they seem [like] they will."

Even if Hart's not gung-ho about the idea, The Huffington Post thought it was time to catch up with the "Sabrina, The Teenage Witch" cast, which includes everyone from an Emmy nominee to a pivotal part of the "Lost" cast and even a sports commentator.

Is 'Scream' Coming To TV?

MTV has ordered a pilot based on the "Scream" franchise, the network announced Thursday.

The cable network revealed its plans to "reinvent" the Kevin Williamson/Wes Craven movies for TV with an official pilot order at its 2013 Upfront Presentation to advertisers on April 25. The potential "Scream" series is being developed with production company Dimension Films, and is currently on the hunt for writers. While Williamson does not appear to be actively involved (he's already behind Fox's successful serial killer drama "The Following"), director Craven is reportedly in talks to helm the pilot.

The proposed one-hour project would aim for a summer 2014 debut if it receives a series pickup, joining the network's other scripted entries, "Teen Wolf" and "Awkward."

MTV also renewed "Snooki And JWOWW" for a third season at the presentation, and added three new unscripted offerings to its slate. Below are the breakdowns for all three, per MTV.

The compelling new one-hour docu-drama “Generation Cryo” explores the issues faced by a new generation of kids coming of age who were conceived via anonymous sperm donors and are redefining what it means to be a family. The series will document the journey of Breeanna, a 17-year-old only child, who recently logged onto the Donor Sibling Registry, a website dedicated to connecting sperm donor families, and learned that she has at least 15 half-siblings all fathered by a man none of them know. Now, Bree’s on a mission to meet all of her half-brothers and sisters and lead them on a nationwide search to find their biological father.

“Nurse Nation” (working title) is a new docu-series that follows nine twenty-something travel nurses all assigned to work at a new hospital in a brand new city for 13 weeks. Some of them have been doing this for years, while others are on their first tour. Cameras will be there every step of the way as they take on the unique challenges and intense pressures of working in the medical profession as they face life or death decisions every day. But it’s not ‘all work and no play.’ On days off, they take advantage of all that their host city has to offer, meet new people and potential new loves while often trying to keep previous relationships and friendships alive. It’s the ultimate ‘work-hard/play-hard’ lifestyle.

“The Hook Up,” (working title) hosted by Andrew Schulz of MTV2’s popular hit series “Guy Code,” is a dating show that will air as an afternoon strip on MTV. Individuals looking for a match will choose from four potential suitors based on their social media history. With the help of their closest friends, the contestants will try to separate the contenders from the pretenders to see if what you see is really what you get.

Sister network MTV2 announced the premiere date for improv comedy series “Nick Cannon Presents Wild N Out," which will air Tuesday, July 9 at 11 p.m. ET. They also picked up “Guy Court” for fall 2013. The half-hour "comedic courtroom series" will see "the laws of manhood ... upheld as some familiar MTV2 faces will determine the guilt or innocence of a variety of cases in accordance with Guy Code."
