What Makes Ian Somerhalder Feel 'High As A Kite'?

These days, our knowledge of celebrities too often originates with paparazzi images and snarky quotes by anonymous "insiders." After a while, it's easy to forget that stars are real people. That's why HuffPost Celebrity decided to launch its all-new #nofilter quick-fire question and answer series. Because how well do you know someone until they've shared their guiltiest pleasures?

Welcome Ian Somerhalder -- or some may be more partial to refer to him as Ian Smolderhalder. The star of the hit CW series "The Vampire Diaries" and the creator of the Ian Somerhalder Foundation chatted with HuffPost Celebrity today to discuss his passion for planet Earth, his vampiric ways and his longtime status as a teen heartthrob. But what really makes this 34-year-old tick? You'll have to read on to find out.

What inspired you to start the Ian Somerhalder Foundation?
Honestly the BP oil spill. That’s it. That feeling of total helplessness. I went down there immediately and realized that what I was seeing on the news and what I heard was going on down there were two totally different things and I said, "you know what? I don’t like that," so I want to go check this out. And I realized that's exactly what was happening and that angered me. And I felt this feeling, like most people, this feeling of helplessness, you know what I mean? I don’t ever want anyone to feel that helpless again. Not myself, not my family, not my children, your family, no one. And that’s what ISF was born out of. ISF was born out of a feeling of complete helplessness and the desire and need to be able to positively impact and warn and activate people, so that’s what we’re doing.

What’s your favorite thing about playing a vampire?
What’s really cool is that those typical mortal limitations you would normally have in a human being, you don’t have. Like playing a scene from sitting up in a tree, I can’t technically do that. You get to bite a lot of hot girls. But no, there’s another really cool thing -- I can look at you and I have that eye thing where I can do compulsion work, like you do whatever I want. That’s always kind of cool.

Well you can’t compel people in real life, but do you have any pick-up lines you like to use on girls?
Pick-up lines? I haven’t used pick-up lines since, like, the ‘90s. I realized that when you’re young -- I mean really, really young -- they can kind of work because no one’s really heard them before. But now as a true adult, ha! Keep it to yourself. If you think that it’s actually going to work … but you know what’s crazy? You know when you’re walking down a New York City street and you see a girl walking by and a guy’s like, [whistles] "Yeaahh!" I always think to myself, "Why would they do that?!" I mean, there’s no way that works. Then you realize, well, it’s got to work some of the time, otherwise they wouldn’t do it. Even when you walk in a store and you’re like, "How do they sell any of this stuff?" It’s still a business. So I guess it works, part of the time.

What’s it like being a teen heartthrob for 15 years?
I don’t even know, I’m just so grateful to be doing this and had some very interesting run-ins with teens and non-teens. The first Comic Con we went to, I got held up by this 6-foot Wonder Woman who was an awesome fan and very, very excited to explain her enthusiasm for the show. But to do that, she felt the need to pin me up against the wall [laughs]. What was crazy was Paul Wesley [his “Vampire Diaries” co-star] and I had literally come from just going to the bathroom and I was in this alcove that was just around the other side, so I kind of couldn’t scream so I leveled with her and I was like, ‘Listen, you’re awesome. I really dig the costume, I dig your enthusiasm, you’re a really beautiful human being, but I got to be honest with you, you got to let me go because my security guys are right over there and if I need to tell them this is happening, they’re going to kick you out of here and I don’t want that. I want you to chill for the weekend.’ I saw her running through the motions of what it meant and she let me go, but it was intense.

You’re a nice guy.
I love the enthusiasm, it’s a cool thing to see at any age, you know?

Well speaking of enthusiasm, I’m sure you’re always bombarded with "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie rumors. What do you think of all the hype around you?
I think that there’s a lot of guys in this business right now that are up for this movie. And I think that they’re going to have a really good time finding the person that they think is going to best serve the role. I think E.L. James has done a phenomenal job of creating a really dynamic story and I dig her for that.

What’s your guilty pleasure?
You know, I guess … what is the definition of that actually?

It could be anything, a food that makes you happy, a TV show you can’t get enough of … what unexpectedly brings joy to your life, Ian?
Mine, really to be honest with you, I find myself sort of sitting in the corner by myself just consuming it … Chocolate. It makes you feel good all over. But dark, organic, the real deal that makes you high as a kite, you know? It’s loaded with antioxidants and caffeine, but it also triggers ethylethanamine production and other really cool things that happen in your body. You know, we’re electro-chemical beings so something like that is just merely a chemical reaction. It’s just something you’re consuming that triggers chemical reactions in your brain that make you feel a certain way. And I guess it’s definitely deemed as a guilty pleasure!

What shows are always on your DVR?
“Breaking Bad,” and then basically a lot of History Channel, Nat Geo and Animal Planet stuff, to be honest with you. The serialized stuff, I’m the worst, I can’t watch it because I can’t necessarily get into it right now. So I have a feeling that once I’m done with “Vampire Diaries,” I’m going to spend about three months in my hotel or apartment or loft or house or wherever I end up living, just going through copious quantities of entertainment and television shows and stuff. For me, it's “The Wire” and a lot of History and Nat Geo and Discovery stuff that I gravitate too.

Moving To The States?

Rumor has it Adele will soon be chasing pavement in Los Angeles: The Oscar and multi-Grammy winning singer is said to have her eyes set on America's West Coast, where she can better balance career with motherhood.

Around awards season, Adele spent more than a month living in a rented house in California with her 5-month-old son Angelo and boyfriend Simon Konecki, reports Britain's Daily Mirror (that rented house being Sir Paul McCartney's, by the way).

The ease of LA living together with Robbie Williams' wife, Ayda Field, persuading her to move have reportedly gotten to Adele and she is seriously considering the big transition. "Adele and her man Simon are looking at a pad in one of the exclusive gated communities of Beverly Hills," a source told Daily Mirror, "because Robbie and Ayda have told Adele that she would be able to have enough land not to feel too trapped, and she could have the privacy she so desperately needs to enjoy life."

Adele, 24, is estimated to have earned $32 million this past year alone, which should provide for plenty comfortable living. According to the Mirror's source, Adele could install a studio in her new mansion and not have to worry about being away from her beloved baby boy, Angelo, while working on her next album.

The accoladed vocalist already has two homes in the U.K., one in Notting Hill, West London, and the second in Hove, near Brighton.

Romantic Week On Yacht For Tiger?

Did Tiger Woods and pro skier Lindsey Vonn spend a romantic week together on the golfer's private yacht?

According to the Daily Mail, the sporty pair spent several days aboard the luxury vessel as Wood competed at the Cadillac Championship Golf Tournament in Florida.

Photos snapped on Sunday, the same day that Woods clinched his 76th PGA Tour win at the Doral tournament, appear to show him and Vonn in separate buggies leaving the marina where his yacht was docked.

Visit the Daily Mail for photos.

According to an earlier report by Hollywood Life, Woods and Vonn have been dating since November.

"They met through the ski community, because Tiger is an active skier,” a source close to Vonn told the tabloid in January. “Lindsey has been teaching Tiger’s kids Sam and Charlie how to ski.”

Neither Woods nor Vonn has confirmed their budding romance, and the Olympic skier told the Denver Post in December that she and Woods were "just friends." However, recent reports seem to indicate the couple's relationship may be heating up.

"Tiger and Lindsey have been friends for a while, and nothing started out romantically at all," a source told People last month. "But they really have a lot in common and got closer and closer. He still refers to her as 'my very good friend,' but he's been spending more and more time talking to her -- and talking about her."

Both Woods and Vonn have been married before. Vonn recently finalized her divorce from her former coach, Thomas Vonn; Woods split from wife Elin Nordegren in 2010.

As "Psych's" 100th episode draws closer, the USA series keeps getting more mysterious. Luckily, viewers have control over how the mystery will be solved.

Titled "100 Clues" (airing Wed., Mar. 27 at 10 p.m. ET), Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dule Hill) will find themselves at a party in a Santa Barbara mansion. In true "Clue" form, a deadly crime is committed and everyone at the mansion is a suspect.

Viewers can vote for the suspect they want to be the murderer on the "Psych" website, and on twitter using hashtags like #PsychButlerDDit, #PsychGroupieDDit, #PsychManagerDDit."

Regardless of how "Psych's" 100th episode ends, two or three alternate endings will be available online the following day.

“This is a great example of how USA can eventize a broadcast and take fan engagement to new heights – before, during and after the show,” executive VP marketing & digital Alexandra Shapiro said in a statement. “In collaboration with Dunkin’ Donuts, we have co-created a social TV campaign that interfaces with the audience at every consumer touch point, from TV to social channels to mobile.”

This isn't the first time "Psych" has gotten creative with its episodes. In July, "Psych" creator Steve Franks confirmed that the series would air a two-hour musical episode, adding, "We're doing our own songs and these guys are awesome." Originally set to air during Season 7, the network is now reporting that it won't air until Season 8.

"Psych's" 100th episode will air on Wed., Mar. 27 at 10 p.m. ET on USA.

Jennifer Lawrence Is The One Person The Westboro Baptist Church Doesn't Hate

If it seems like everyone loves Jennifer Lawrence, it's because it's true. Even the Westboro Baptist Church, which hates everyone, likes her.

When Vice set out to see if Lawrence was so popular that she could even charm hate groups including the National Socialist Freedom Movement and the League of the South, they discovered that most groups didn't care about the actress one way or another. The WBC, however, shockingly doesn't hate Lawrence.

WBC member Steve Drain was surprised by Vice's inquiry into the group's thoughts on the Oscar-winning actress.

"You talking about the Hunger Games woman? You want a statement on Jennifer Lawrence? From the Westboro Baptist Church?" he asked to make sure he'd understood the magazine's question correctly.

"I don't know enough about her," Drain said, adding that he did see her in person when he was taking a tour of NBC, and Lawrence was practicing a skit for "Saturday Night Live."

"OK. Jennifer Lawrence... I think that most of the young people in our church saw Hunger Games. And I think they all liked that... She just kinda bursted onto the scene, didn't she? She doesn't have a very long film career, does she?" he asked the magazine, and was told that Lawrence was nominated for many awards a few years ago for her role in "Winter's Bone."

"Oh! That's her? Winter's Bone rocked! That was a great flick," he said. "I like Winter's Bone quite a bit. I think she did a very nice job there. Yep."

There you have it. The Westboro Baptist Church -- whose members picket funerals, concerts and seemingly everything else -- they like Jennifer Lawrence.

WATCH: Beyoncé Gained How Much Baby Weight?

"Talking about weight can be a very touchy subject for women," according to Shape magazine editor-in-chief, Tara Kraft (and, well, millions of other moms out there), but someone has to do it.

Who better than one of the 100 sexiest women of the 21 Century herself? Beyonce Knowles.

Shape's April 2013 issue features Knowles, who Kraft says is bravely willing to go where few women have gone -- talking about weight -- "because she wanted to make every woman out there feel like they, too, could achieve what she did."

In case you blinked and missed what that achievement is, Knowles goes on to explain it -- going from bootylicious pre-baby fabulousness to pregnancy and back, all in the span of three months -- in a behind-the-scenes video of her Shape magazine cover shoot.

"I gained 57 pounds when I was pregnant. I didn't have a lot of time to lose the weight, because I scheduled a show three months after I gave birth, which I would never do again," Knowles says in the minute-and-a-half video clip. "I'm not a person that is naturally very thin. I am a person that has to work at keeping my body in shape," she goes on to say, adding that dance is what keeps her active.

Add cardio, lunges, and a diet full of veggies and lean meat to that, according to Shape editor-at-large, Bahar Takhtehchian, who revealed to The Insider last year what Beyoncé's post-baby fitness routine consisted of. Trainer Marco Borges said it's one vegan meal a day that has helped Bey keep her nearly 60 pound weight gain at bay.

But while "it's really really hard to lose your baby weight, because you don't always have the time," as Kraft admits, it's easy to work it into your lifestyle the way Beyoncé does, she says. "She's not setting the bar too high, she's helping everyone feel like they can get there."

Beyoncé, on the other hand, says that where she is, isn't necessarily where everyone else needs to be. "Not everyone is supposed to be the same. Be healthy and take care of yourself, but be happy with the beautiful things that make you, you."

Pardon us while we go ponder that and take another stab at the "Single Ladies" dance, Queen Bey.

Everyone else, take a peek at the footage of Beyoncé behind the scenes at her Shape magazine photo shoot in the video above.

Will Season 3 Of 'Game Of Thrones' Be The Most Intense Yet?

You may think you know how brutal HBO’s beautiful dark twisted fantasy Game of Thrones can get, but to paraphrase Wildling temptress Ygritte: “You know nothing about season 3.” Based on roughly the first half of the third novel in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, the fan-favorite A Storm of Swords, this season continues the ultra-complex story of rival families vying for power in a fantasy kingdom where winter and summer last for years. It includes some of the most rousing jump-off-the-couch moments of triumph in the saga’s five-books-and-counting history — as well as its most bloody casualties. In geek terms: It’s The Empire Strikes Back of the Thrones-verse. “Emotionally, this season really goes for the jugular,” Thrones executive story editor Bryan Cogman tells Entertainment Weekly in this week’s issue. “In some cases, quite literally.”

'The Sing Off' Is Coming Back!

"The Sing Off" is returning to NBC!

The a cappella reality competition series, which aired from 2009-2012 on the Peacock network, is coming back for a fourth season. NBC's official "Sing Off" website now reads "Returning Soon!" and there is an official casting website. There will be auditions in Chicago, Nashville, LA and New York between April 27 and May 18.

There is no official date set for "The Sing Off's" return.

"The Sing Off," which was hosted by 98 Degrees alum Nick Lachey, was canceled after three seasons on NBC due to low ratings. Originally, Ben Folds, Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men and Nicole Scherzinger served as judges. For the third season, however, Sarah Bareillis joined the panel when Scherzinger left to join "The X Factor," which she was booted from after one season.

"The Sing Off's" most recent winner Pentatonix has been relatively successful. The fivesome released its debut album, "PTX Volume 1," which climbed to No. 14 on the Billboard 200 and is currently touring. Scott Hoying, the frontman of the group, told Forbes: “I feel like a lot of people are looking for this kind of raw organic sound that’s not really produced ... I think they just want to hear good singing nowadays and I think 'Glee' showcases that. I think 'The Sing Off' showcases that and I think we’re really excited to try to be at the forefront of that movement.”

A request to NBC for more on "The Sing Off" returning was not immediately returned.

LOS ANGELES — Ed Asner's publicist says the 83-year-old actor is out of a Chicago-area hospital after being diagnosed with exhaustion.

Publicist Charles Sherman says Asner was released Thursday and plans to fly home to Los Angeles. He likely will postpone some performances of his touring one-man stage show.

On Tuesday night, Asner was taken off the stage in Gary, Ind., and went by ambulance to the unidentified hospital.

Asner just completed filming several episodes of the TV series "The Glades" in Florida. He's been on a national tour portraying President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the play "FDR" for more than three years.

Asner is best known for his roles in TV's "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and its spinoff, "Lou Grant."

The Big Lie Jennifer Garner Told Her Kids

NEW YORK -- Jennifer Garner tries not to look at reviews of the outfits she wears because, inevitably, someone isn't going to like it.

"It's not good for my self-esteem," she said Wednesday while in New York to open the Neutrogena Sun Summit.

The exception was after the Oscars last month. Garner's violet-colored, custom-made Gucci gown was a winner – but that wasn't what she was looking for after husband Ben Affleck's film "Argo" won best picture. "I reveled in all those good pictures of him," she said.

Garner, a Neutrogena spokeswoman, practices what she preaches when it comes to sun safety. Her children make sure of it.

In her household, sunscreen is like seat belts: non-negotiable. Garner said while she was away Wednesday, the kids surely would remind their dad if he dropped them at school without their daily slathering.

"I think I once told my kids it was against the law not to wear sunscreen," she said.

Garner's appearance was followed by a panel discussion that included dermatologists, a NASA scientist and Mexican actress Sandra Echeverria.

An eager science student growing up, Garner, 40, said the conference's terminology – and warnings – about the ozone layer and ultraviolet rays isn't lost on her. She joked, though, that she wouldn't want to be quoted on exactly what the Helioplex formulation is or what vitamin C can do for the skin.

But she had her "a-ha" moment about sun damage in her 20s, when she was out with friends. "They all had big hats on, and I didn't."

"Suddenly you look one day and the sun damage is there ... and then you see it increase exponentially."

She'll take little credit for that Oscar night look – calling it a team effort led by Rachel Zoe. The partnership between Zoe and Garner goes back more than a decade, with Garner as the stylist's first big Hollywood client.

"She knows I'm not going to wear super-crazy fashion," said Garner. Where Garner leans toward comfort, Zoe goes for fancy – and "she usually wins."

Garner's outfit Wednesday – an Oscar de la Renta sheath dress and pointy-toe pumps in black patent leather – hit the right balance. In her casual style, Garner, wearing a smile, described the look as "just a little purple Oscar number."

Forty-seven-year-old Charlie Sheen has found himself a new enemy: 9-year-olds. More specifically, the kids who bullied his 9-year-old daughter, Sam, at school.

TMZ reports that Sam was teased "mercilessly about her skin, her looks, her hair, and even Charlie getting fired from 'Two and a Half Men.'" According to TMZ's sources, Sam got physically ill from the torment and had to switch schools.

Per his usual controversial self, Sheen took to Twitter yesterday and blasted to his 9.1 million followers his preferred method of dealing with the situation:

CADRE! This is a legitimate call to arms. my daughter Sam was bullied out of Viewpoint school and then called a liar. it's on! if you have a rotted egg a roll of toilet paper or some dog shit; I urge u to deliver it with "extreme prejudice" to their KamPuss run by trolls and charlatans. make me proud. we will not tolerate this level of abhorrent disrespect towards the child of your favorite Warlock. The Man Who Will Direct New 'Jurassic Park'

Welcome to Jurassic Park, Colin Trevorrow. The indie director behind "Safety Not Guaranteed" has been hired to direct "Jurassic Park 4" according to Deadline.com. Trevorrow takes over the franchise for Joe Johnston, who directed "Jurassic Park III" in 2001; Steven Spielberg, a producer on "Jurassic Park 4," directed the first two installments in the blockbuster franchise.

Trevorrow's hiring comes on the heels of mass speculation that Spielberg himself would return for "Jurassic Park 4." HitFix film writer Drew McWeeny offered up the idea that Spielberg was a potential spoiler for the job, noting that the identity of the "Jurassic Park 4" director was still secret despite the film being in pre-production.

Crew who are meeting on the film aren't being told who is directing, and it really does force us to question why there's such a veil of secrecy. If they were going to announce somebody new to the series, someone who has made some money for them on something else or someone up-and-coming, wouldn't they just announce it already? Let's say they're really happy with "Oblivion," and it's Joseph Kosinski they want, would it make sense to hold that news? Wouldn't you announce it before "Oblvion" opens as a way of driving people to see it?

Trevorrow has to hustle to get "Jurassic Park 4" ready: The film is already set for release on June 13, 2014. What this means for Trevorrow's other big, post-"Safety Not Guaranteed" project, a remake of "The Flight of the Navigator," is unclear.

For more on Trevorrow, including why he earned the job, head over to Deadline.com.

Ian Somerhalder Talks Delena, Who's Next To Die & More

$

When we last left our favorite blood-suckers on "The Vampire Diaries," Damon (Ian Somerhalder) had told Elena (Nina Dobrev) to turn off her emotions and then, she burned down the Gilbert house ... with her brother Jeremy's (Steven R. McQueen) body inside.

When "The Vampire Diaries" returns (Thursday, March 14 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW), the all-new Elena goes back to high school, per Damon and Stefan's (Paul Wesley) suggestion. But is there still hope for Damon and Elena, and what kind of havoc is Silas/Shane (David Alpay) is about to wreak on Mystic Falls?

Ian Somerhalder spoke to The Huffington Post about that and much more, including why "The Vampire Diaries" cast members are worried about who's going to die next.

Is everyone going to be upset with Damon for telling Elena to "turn it off"?
Well, I think it backfired. I think that ultimately Damon did it because he knew it would be effective, [but] I don't think he thought it through. So it’s a tragic kind of situation where you have this guy who finally got the girl he loves, even though it’s major robbage of the cradle: 170 and 18? That’s a significant age difference. But now it’s kind of tragic in the sense that he really had her and then you finally realize that it was manufactured because of this whole sire bond thing.

I talked to the guy that did that movie "Catfish" and I realized, I had no idea that there’s this whole thing happening in the world right now where people are presenting themselves in fake profiles and having relationships with people and then in the end, find out it’s not true ... it’s devastating! Like half the world.

With Elena's emotions shut off, is her sire bond to Damon gone since that's emotionally based?
Yeah. I think it was the mythology that we were using, which is yeah, it was emotionally based. So now that that is gone, Damon kind of shot himself in the foot. But he really did relieve Elena of an exceptional amount of pain. So he won in one department, lost in another. You win some, you lose some. There’s a cost-benefit analysis to all of it, you know what I mean?

It was nice to see Damon come to Bonnie's (Kat Graham) aid, but she seems to have completely lost it. What can you tease about how Shane/Silas will affect things in Mystic Falls?
Well, it screws a lot of stuff up, to be honest with you. It screws a lot of stuff up. There’s a lot of actors on set who are very on their toes, you know what I mean? Making sure they show up on time, making sure they know all their lines, making sure that that they’re doing the right thing because this dude can take anybody out and any time.

"The Vampire Diaries" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.

Erica Oyama: Will You Accept This Show? A Message to Those Who Love to Hate the The Bachelor

$
0
0

I love The Bachelor. I watch it as if I'm earning my master's degree on the subject. I am a proud member of a Bachelor fantasy league. My team name is, "Love is Blonde." This season I finished in 11th place. Apart from my children and husband and stuff, The Bachelor brings me the most happiness in my life. As a faithful follower of this franchise, I take a lot of heat from Bachelor haters. These Cynical Cynthias wonder how I can be so invested in a show that allows one man to search for his soul mate by dating many women simultaneously. They hurl such disgusting accusations as: "It's all fake!" or "You can't find love in six weeks!" or "They're all actors!" or most painfully, "Chris Harrison does not want to be friends with you!" To that I say, "I get it." I started out watching this show ironically. Every year I would catch the season finale just to laugh at the spectacle. But in a typical romantic fashion, we (The Bachelor and I) connected on a deeper level. I let down my walls and have found something really special. I will defend my favorite show until the end of time. Or until it is cancelled, which I'm hoping doesn't happen in this century.

If the show is "fake," I'm completely okay with it. The catfights, the broken hearts, the backstabbing, the busthrowingundering; all possibly staged elements that build to a perfect Bachelor season, are no faker than ideas presented on critically acclaimed scripted television like The Walking Dead or Sex and the City. Could zombies really threaten the human population? Could a sex columnist really afford a truckload of designer shoes? Who cares if the editors have fun with stretching out a tense moment or decide to only show the terrible moments of a certain character? We need the drama. We need the villains. The idea that this show is 100 percent real is not what makes it so entertaining.

For those who doubt the possibility of finding love in such a short span of time, I understand where you're coming from. In most cases, it takes longer than six weeks to find everlasting love. But try telling that to married Bachelor franchise couples: Ashley and JP, Trista and Ryan or even the controversial pairing of Jason and Molly. The Bachelor is in its 17th season (not to mention countless seasons of sister series, The Bachelorette, and slutty cousin series, Bachelor Pad.) We have watched the show long enough to know that most relationships formed on the show fail. The 20-odd on camera proposals have resulted in three marriages (the ones listed above). There is less than a 15 percent chance that you will marry the person you pick at the end of the show! And yet, we fans are still invested. I believe it's because this show, like life, is about the journey not the destination. We, audience members, care more about the chase. We want to see multiple relationships bloom at the same time. We have adult onset ADD. We can't be following up with these couples for the rest of our lives! We just want to live in the now!

The characters on The Bachelor are so wonderful. If they are actors, I salute them. They are very good actors and I would like to nominate them all for an Emmy. (I'm looking at you, Tierra). Call me naive, but I enjoy believing that these are real people. Real people who have left their lives behind to search for true love. On television. They've packed their best outfits, jewelry and unnecessary scarves, in the hopes of attracting the love of their life. When it doesn't work out, they are truly heartbroken. It's that real life drama that keeps me coming back for more. When the rejected return to the recap special with a fresh spray-tan and a slightly different hair color. I applaud them. I've been lucky enough to meet a few of these cast members in real life, and I can't say that I was able to keep my composure.

Speaking of cast run-ins, I honestly believe that if "host with the most" Chris Harrison and I met, he would be down for friendship with me. We obviously wouldn't be hardcore bros, but we'd probably exchange emails and send "Look at this funny thing I saw online" type messages. Maybe we'd invite each other to a Christmas party. Maybe we'd work our way up to him allowing me to set him up on dates. These are all possibilities, but I'm definitely not gonna force anything!

On this week's stunning season finale of The Bachelor, "beefy" Sean Lowe got down on one knee and proposed to the woman of his dreams, Seattle based vegan, Catherine. In a poetic final image, the newly engaged couple mounted an elephant and rode off into a perfect Thailand sunset, ready to live the perfect life that will surely be theirs. Upon seeing this magic moment, I found myself softly weeping and breaking out into an emotional sweat. Because, even though I know that Sean and Catherine's relationship is most likely doomed, this has been an incredible journey and I feel so very much a part of it. So next season, I invite you to let down your walls and join me as a devoted fan. The journey of a thousand Bachelor episodes begins with a single viewing.

If you are still hesitant, I invite you to check out Burning Love on E!, a loving parody of The Bachelor. Apparently Jennifer Aniston makes a cameo, and it's produced by Ben Stiller so it's probably worth checking out! Also I wrote it. Good luck with whatever romantic journeys await you on television!

A month after Penelope Cruz announced her pregnancy the latest edition of Hola magazine published photos of the Spanish actress showing her baby bump after confirming she will be a mother for the second time.

The picture shows Cruz in a little black bikini showing her very pregnant belly on a beach in Barbados.

Cruz escaped to the Caribbean a few days with her son Leo, to rest after shooting her latest film, “The Counselor.” In this last gig, the Oscar-winning star works with her husband, Javier Bardem, under the direction of Ridley Scott.

Sam Rubin's daughter is about to incur the wrath of the legions of Ryan Gosling fans.

The KTLA reporter was offered the chance to fly to New York and interview Gosling about his upcoming movie 'The Place Beyond the Pines.' When his 17-year-old daughter Perry heard the news she sent him off with the mission of bringing back a signed memento.

Although Rubin admits he wouldn't normally ask a celebrity for an autograph on the job, he was willing to make an exception for his daughter.

Rubin came to the interview prepared with a copy of Gosling's little-known 2009 indie rock album for him to sign. Perry also prepped her father with other obscure facts about the actor that surprised him.

In the end Sam Rubin walked away not only with the autographed record, but also with a personal message for Perry: "We have to stop meeting this way."

Best dad ever? We think so.

Andrew Fish: Cult's Robert Knepper on Method, Prison Break, and Unleashing the Dark Side

Robert Knepper has a particular aptitude for making the blood boil. Able to infuse an audience with hate, fear and affection in one big jumble of conflicted emotion, the actor excelled as the infamous Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell on the Fox series Prison Break. With vicious charisma, he made people feel for a cold-hearted killer by revealing glimmers of decency beneath what most would consider pure evil. Throughout the show's run, and long after its finale, Knepper has been stared at, confronted, and confided in by fans who watched him unleash his dark side every week -- experiences that are coming in handy at his latest gig on the CW's Cult, which features his portrayal of both Billy Grimm, a villain on a fictional TV show, and Roger Reeves, the actor who plays him.

"T-Bag, for a lot of people," Knepper offers during his chat with Iconic Interview, "was really an alluring character. The power of the imagination is pretty crazy, that you can affect people that way, to scare them so much and to turn them on at the same time. It's probably the same emotion."

Playfully suggesting that some of his own interactions with overzealous fans may have influenced the tale of Roger Reeves, he notes that Reeves's inner struggle is certainly similar to what Knepper, himself, went through as he saw his own fame skyrocket. "You can get a little addicted to that kind of love," he relates, "and then you have to go, 'Wait a minute; why am I doing this? Am I doing this because I want this recognition every time I go out? Or am I doing it because I really love the work?' You're going to get to see a little bit of that with Roger, as well. I think he's questioning what his goals are. What does he want? Does he want fame or does he want to keep playing a great part? And, like any great part you play -- specifically on television, because it is a long-running gig -- it starts to mess with your head after a while, because you can't walk around in your real life being the character that you're playing. There's no way you can have that much power over people. Once in awhile, you're going to have to cook your own dinner."

As is probably clear, Knepper doesn't pull any punches. He's an intense guy with great stories, strong opinions and not a hint of the malevolence many expect from the man who channeled T-Bag with such brutal realism from 2005 to 2009. Even Rockne S. O'Bannon, creator of Cult -- as well as the classic science-fiction series Farscape and the upcoming Defiance -- admits he had some apprehension about meeting the performer because of the "indelible impression" Knepper had made on him through his work on Prison Break. "Then I met Robert," O'Bannon tells us, "this very warm, generous, talented artist. I knew I'd found my man, an actor who could brilliantly bring both [Billy and Roger] to life. He's an actor who cares deeply about the work, but also approaches it with a wonderful sense of fun."

So how is someone with such a friendly demeanor and positive outlook able to craft such finely tuned villains as the frighteningly complex T-Bag, the relentless and diabolical Billy Grimm, the mass-murder-obsessed Samuel on Heroes, or the intergalactic fiend Simeon on Stargate Universe? He studied hard at Northwestern University, practiced diligently under instructor William Esper in New York, immersed himself in theater and became great at what he does. Knepper explains that it's all about "[surrendering] to really being the [character]. Esper, [with the] Meisner technique, used to call it 'living truthfully under imaginary circumstances.' The more you actually do that, the more cathartic it is for you as the actor, because you're living it out fully. You're just like an open channel and all these things happen."

Knepper's TV resume includes Star Trek (The Next Generation and Voyager); L.A. Law; Law & Order; Murder, She Wrote; Profiler; The West Wing; CSI: Miami; and Criminal Minds. He also appeared on HBO's Carnivale and Showtime's Shameless. He's worked with Woody Allen in Everyone Says I Love You and Bruce Willis in Hostage, and played Frank Sinatra in the French film Cloclo and Robert Kennedy in the TV movie Jackie, Ethel, Joan: The Women of Camelot. Next up is the big-budget supernatural action film R.I.P.D., based on the Dark Horse comic, with Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges.

Knepper credits his work with Blake Edwards, Jack Lemmon, and Julie Andrews in That's Life!; Kiefer Sutherland in Renegades and Young Guns II; and George Clooney on ER and in Good Night, and Good Luck as the experiences that helped him develop his guiding principles of gratitude, graciousness, and checking your ego at the door. "That's because I started off with those people and those kinds of examples," he says. "How do you make people do the best work? You make them feel comfortable, so you can feel comfortable -- and then you can have a really good ballgame!"

Lance Armstrong Compares Himself To Clinton

Drawing a parallel between himself and Bill Clinton, disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong in a recent interview expressed a hope that his scandal will one day be forgiven, just as the former president's was.

“Ultimately, people forgive and forget and remember the good stuff you did,” he told Texas Monthly's Michael Hall in the magazine's most recent issue.

“Is it hard to do? Yeah. But Clinton did it -- he loves to work, he loves people, he loves to hustle. He’s a hero of mine. He’s a tough guy, he’s smart, surrounded himself with good people. And ten years later, he’s president of the world. It can be done,” he continued, referring to the uproar that surrounded the Monica Lewinsky affair and Clinton's subsequent return to public favor.

But Armstrong, who called the reaction to his confession that he had used performance-enhancing drugs a "bloodbath," admitted also that lasting repercussions of his fall from grace will likely be felt for a long time.

“The stain’s not going away -- my girls will grow into it. My two little ones will grow into it. This stain will live forever. I’ll never get rid of it,” Armstrong, who was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles last year, told the Texas Monthly.

During a highly anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey in January, Armstrong confessed to doping and admitted that his story had long been "one big lie."

Reuters reported on Thursday that doping lobby group Change Cycling Now is now calling on Armstrong to issue a more comprehensive confession.

"What upset me most," the group's founder, Jaimie Fuller, said of Armstrong's doping, "[was] the way he abused people, the way that he just climbed all over people, the win at all costs. I had a conversation with him not long ago and I said to him it's going to get worse for him before its gets better. I think he's bit delusional." Fuller went on to add that Armstrong should "come clean" and tell the world "everything."

Though Armstrong has been keeping a relatively low profile since his Oprah interview, TMZ reported this week that the athlete was spotted in Los Angeles and speculated that the former pro cyclist was in town to discuss two rumored movie deals. J.J. Abrams is believed to be spearheading a biopic for Paramount Pictures, while Jay Roach is said to be planning an Armstrong film for Warner Bros.
