When Hollywood Meets D.C.

This week marks the second inauguration of President Barack Obama. With the Academy Awards just a month away, there is a long history of Hollywood maintaining a strong relationship with D.C. heavyweights.

Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" highlighted the intersection of Hollywood and D.C. particularly well this year. The film about former president Abraham Lincoln led the Golden Globes nominations with seven awards, and was introduced at the ceremony by 42nd President Bill Clinton. The film was even screened at the White House, providing a photo of Daniel-Day Lewis reading the Gettysburg Address. Now, "Lincoln" is up for a leading 12 awards at the 85th Annual Academy Awards, to be held on Feb. 24.
