Justin Bieber's mother, Pattie Mallette, adored his girlfriend of two years, Selena Gomez. "She's just a sweetheart. She's kind and generous and loving," Mallette told the AP in September. Bieber's mom must've been disappointed to hear of her son's split from the 20-year-old star last week.
So when Mallette had breakfast with Tish Cyrus -- that would be Miley Cyrus' mom, of course -- Thursday in Calabasas, Calif., perhaps she was seeking advice. Miley went through her own bad breakup from Nick Jonas before setting down with current fiance Liam Hemsworth. In fact, the 19-year-old "Party in the U.S.A" singer once told Seventeen that when their relationship ended in late 2007, "At first I bawled for a month straight. I was so sad. I just went into this weird funk. And I dyed my hair black." (Let's hope the Biebs doesn't go through such a phase.)
And while Miley factored into the various rumors surrounding Bieber and Gomez's breakup, the pair have never been more than pals. In 2010, Justin and Miley went on a dinner date, but according to Us Weekly, Justin called her "not my type."
