What Peter Jackson Won't Let You See

The "Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" panel on Saturday afternoon in San Diego is already one of the most anticipated events at Comic-Con 2012. Yet despite planning to debut new footage from the film, director Peter Jackson won't let fans fully experience his latest epic. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Jackson revealed the "Hobbit" footage will be shown in 2D at 24 frames per second (fps), as opposed to 3D at 48 fps.

What that means: Back in April at CinemaCon, Jackson debuted 48 fps scenes to assembled journalists, and the reactions were mixed. "The footage I saw looked terrible … completely non-cinematic," wrote Devin Faraci at Badass Digest. "The sets looked like sets … sets don’t even look like sets when you’re on them live, but these looked like sets. The magical illusion of cinema is stripped away completely.”

Shooting in 48 fps is twice the standard frame rate that has been used to make movies since the 1930s; "The Hobbit" will be the first major studio film to be shot using 48 fps technology.

"I think it’s more about protecting the downside, rather than helping the film in any significant way," Jackson said, rather candidly. "There is a huge audience waiting to see 'The Hobbit,' and any positive press from Comic-Con will truthfully have little impact on that. However, as we saw at CinemaCon earlier this year, with our 48 frames per second presentation, negative bloggers are the ones the mainstream press runs with and quotes from."

Jackson said he wants the attention "The Hobbit" gets to stay "firmly with the content and not the technical stuff."

"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" is the first of two "Hobbit" films directed by Jackson. It hits theaters on Dec. 14.

Check back to HuffPost Entertainment for more from the "Hobbit" Comic-Con event this weekend. For more on Jackson, head over to the Times website.

Steven Tyler Leaving 'American Idol'

Steven Tyler is leaving "American Idol." Fox and the Aerosmith rocker made the announcement in a press statement.

“After some long ... hard ... thoughts … I've decided it's time for me to let go of my mistress 'American Idol' before she boils my rabbit," Tyler said in a statement. "I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I'm back -- but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I've got two fists in the air and I'm kicking the door open with my band. The next few years are going to be dedicated to kicking some serious ass -- the ultimate in auditory takeover … On Nov. 6, we are unleashing our new album, Music from Another Dimension on the Earth, Moon, Mars, and way beyond the stars ... "Idol" was over-the-top fun, and I loved every minute of it ... Now it's time to bring Rock Back. ERMAHGERD."

Tyler joined the Fox singing competition during Season 10, serving alongside veteran judge Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez for Seasons 10 and 11. Lopez has recently told members of the press that she is unsure of her future with "Idol."

"I've enjoyed it so much, but I am thinking it's maybe time for me to go and do other things I really love to do like films ... and performing," Lopez said on "Today." "I know everybody wants that definite ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ and ... all I can let you in on is my own thought process with it, because that’s where I truly am."

So far there has been no concrete word on Lopez and Jackson's involvement with "American Idol" for Season 12.

"Steven Tyler is a real 'Idol,' a rock legend. If you had told me 10 years ago he would be a judge on 'American Idol,' I would have thought it impossible," Simon Fuller, creator and executive producer of "American Idol," said in a statement. "The fact that this became a reality and we had the pleasure of him gracing our stage for two seasons makes me very proud. I completely understand his desire to get back to his life as the singer in America's greatest-ever rock band. 'American Idol' will miss him!”

Patricia Leavy, PhD: Madonna's 'Gang Bang' and the Double Standard Female and Male Performers Face

$

Over the past few weeks Madonna -- the publicity queen -- has been in the headlines for showing her nipple, flashing her bottom and other provocative erotic on-stage antics. The pop-provocateur has even been targeted with more mean-spirited media commentary regarding her tour costumes (some question if the 50+ singer can still sport a cheerleading uniform). All of the attention aimed at Madge and her tour is focused on her sexuality (and her never-ending attempt to share her sexuality with the world). However, the songstress has just released her most violent album to date, featuring the song "Gang Bang" in which she fantasizes about murdering her ex-husband, Guy Ritchie, simply because he left her (and took all her jack, as she exclaims). How is her nipple-baring more provocative than lyrics and on-stage performances that focus on murdering her former spouse? Moreover, what would male artists like Eminem and Chris Brown say about this double standard?

There is always a slippery slope between defending free speech and artistic license and taking responsibility for what we put out into the world. For many, the glamorization of domestic violence crosses the line. A well-known example is Eminem's "97 Bonnie and Clyde" in which the artist fantasizes about bringing his young daughter to help him kill his ex-wife (the child's mother). Although a commercial success, the song garnered extensive media attention regarding the reality-fantasy line and the normalization of domestic violence in contemporary pop culture. Feminist singer-songwriter Tori Amos covered the Eminem anthem on her 2001 "Strange Little Girls" album. Without changing a word of the song, Amos sang the song from the perspective of the mother, not quite dead, in the trunk of Eminem's car. Amos made the media circuit urging artists to take responsibility for the messages in their work and how they impact listeners. More recently, Chris Brown was critiqued for lyrics in his song "Deuces" that includes lyrics about the infamous limo fight between Ike and Tina Turner and that mirrors Brown's much-publicized incident of violence with former girlfriend, Rihanna.

Now an argument can be made that men simply don't live in the same world women do with respect to partner violence and thus, there are no real consequences to putting out art that depicts female violence against males. However, this line of thinking is problematic for two primary reasons:

1. Although intimate partner violence is typically committed by men against women, the fact is that boys and men are also the victims of violence both directly and indirectly.

2. If we legitimate portrayals of females' violence against their male partners we make it much more difficult to critique portrayals of male violence against female partners, which we know has real-world consequences. Moreover, in the case of Madonna's song, the female protagonist seems to feel her partner deserves to die because he left her with a hefty court settlement. In the real-world this perspective has led to assaults on countless women after they have left their abusive partners and it is a reason many fail to seek the spousal and child support they deserve.

I think this is a goose-gander situation. While I don't support censorship, consumers should think carefully about what they choose to listen to and artists need to take responsibility for the content of their work: neither of which should be dependent on gender. Madonna has made a career by pushing the envelope and the commercial viability of women in the music industry. I couldn't care less what costumes the icon sports in order to get our attention but I think we should call her out on her exploitation of domestic violence.

Police Solve Mystery of Missing Bollywood Star And Her Family

Police in India have recovered the skeletal remains of half-a-dozen people from a pit at missing Bollywood starlet Laila Khan's luxury Igatpuri farmhouse.

According to Mumbai's Joint Commissioner of Police, Himanshu Roy, the pit containing the human remains -- a pit they believe was initially intended for an underground water tank -- was 12 feet long, 8 feet wide and 6 feet deep. Inside it, three sets of remains were found covered with mud and stones on top of a blood-soaked mattress. Beneath the mattress, authorities recovered three additional sets of skeletal remains, another mattress, and possible murder weapons.

"We recovered one iron rod with blood stains on it and two knives with bloodstains on them," Roy said at a Thursday press conference.

Roy added that "substantial injuries, including head injuries" were observed on the victims.

A positive identification of the victims -- one male and five females -- is pending DNA testing; however, Roy said it is "reasonably likely that these skeletons belong to Laila Khan and her family."

Laila Khan, born Reshma Patel, was best known for her role opposite Rajesh Khanna in the 2008 Bollywood film, "A Deadly Love Story." At the time of her disappearance, she was in the process of shooting a film with Bollywood film director Rakesh Sawant.

Khan, 30, her mother Saleena Patel, older sister Hashmina, twin siblings Imran and Zara, and cousin Rehshma have been missing since February 2011. The family had been staying at Khan's farmhouse -- a holiday home -- since late the previous month.

The family was reported missing by Sawant and Patel's ex-husband, Nadir Shah Patel. Authorities were unable to find any trace of Khan or her family and the case soon went cold.

On June 21 of this year, authorities got their first break when they questioned Khan's stepfather, Parvez Iqbal Tak. During the interview, Tak allegedly told police several stories, including one that he and the house watchman, Shakir Hussain, had killed Khan and her five family members and buried their bodies behind her holiday home.

Tak, who claims to be Patel's third husband, allegedly said he was jealous of her second husband, Asif Sheikh.

According to Roy, "Tak felt that the family relied a lot on Sheikh and that he had an influence over them. This often angered Tak."

Tak allegedly killed his wife and then the others because they had witnessed the murder. Roy said he believed the killings were committed in the "heat of the moment."

On Tuesday, Tak pointed out the spot on the property where the bodies had been disposed, police said.

Charges in the case are pending.

Celebrity Slumber Party!

Our invite must have gotten lost in the mail, because a slumber party with Lindsay Lohan, Lady Gaga and Lana Del Rey is an event we'd never miss.

Sources close to the ladies told X17Online that the three stars spent Wednesday night at the Chateau Marmont, having some good old-fashioned fun that included watching old movies and playing board games.

According to the website, it was Lohan who brought the ladies together, since she often calls the hotel home.

"The three of them had dinner in the garden on Tuesday night at Chateau, and then Lindsay and Gaga ran upstairs to play dress-up and came down in different outfits."

Given Lohan and Gaga's huge wardrobes, our heads are spinning just thinking of the amazing movie-makeover montage that could have been filmed that night.

We had no idea the three celebs were friends, but it looks like this won't be the last time they hang out. And judging from some of Gaga and Lohan's recent tweets, it appears as though they already have their own inside jokes.

On Wednesday, Gaga tweeted (and later deleted) at Lohan, writing:

"@lindsaylohan when you ordered a cucumber and a knife to the bar last night i thought your were gonna perform a vasectomy #justaskinnyb***h."

To which Lohan replied:

We approve of this new friendship, based solely on the fact that it seems as if it's going to keep us fairly entertained.

One Last Time: 'Breaking Dawn' Hits Comic-Con

On Thursday, the "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2" cast participated in a press conference at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel in San Diego to coincide with Comic-Con. The press conference was held in an effort to drum up support for the new "Twilight" film, which you (A) already have tickets for or (B) will never, ever see.

Over the course of the press conference, here are the ten things HuffPost Entertainment learned from the cast of "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2."

Stephenie Meyer thinks of the cast of "Twilight" as her imaginary friends.

While recounting the first time that Meyer met the cast of "Twilight" at a dinner, she stated that they all had just come from shooting and were still wearing their costumes. Or, as Meyer puts it, "All dressed as my imaginary friends."

First impressions last a lifetime.

When Kristen Stewart was asked what her first impressions were of Robert Pattinson, she responded, "I liked his pants."

Robert Pattinson has an idea for the next "Twilight" book.

"Edward and Bella get divorced," Pattinson said, while, in one fell swoop deflating the hearts of millions. Continuing, Pattinson envisions the story becoming, "a 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' thing." (Related: This would be the first "Twilight" movie that I would pay to see.)

Stephenie Meyer has no plans to continue writing about Bella Swan.

"Bella's story is told," Meyer said, quite convincingly. Though, she did hint at stories involving Renesmee, Bella and Edward's daughter. "There's a reason this lovely lady was was created," said Meyers as she put her arm around Mackenzie Foy, who plays Renesmee in "Breaking Dawn Part 2."

We have no idea what Robert Pattinson really thinks of a possible "Twilight" reboot.

When asked, at first, Pattinson welcomed the idea ("I would love to see that") as Taylor Lautner nodded in agreement. But then Pattinson quickly started joking,"I would make a campaign against them," in reference to the next actor to play Edward. Though, something gave me the impression that he wasn't entirely joking.

Kristen Stewart is not a fan of the MPAA.

Stewart, who seemed quite jovial for most of the press conference did become a little ornery when the subject of ratings were brought up after being asked if "Breaking Dawn Part 2" would have more "vampire sex."

"We're supposed to have mind-boggling, other worldly sex," Stewart noted about the first "Breaking Dawn" film. "We tried and they told us it was rated R." Later, she added that "nothing about this series is raunchy" in a none-too-pleased tone.

Everyone loves the first "Twilight" movie the best.

At least, as far as the fun they had on set. It seemed pretty unanimous that "Twilight" was the most enjoyable project to film. To what extent remains a bit of a mystery, at least today: Indoor baseball was mentioned and Kellen Lutz strongly hinted that there wasn't as much supervision on the set of the first film, going as far to say that he, Jackson Rathbone and Peter Facinelli had "some good times." Then they all slyly looked at each other and giggled. What does that all mean?

Kellen Lutz realizes he's not a big part of the movies.

Actually, one of the best parts of the press conference is when Lutz went on a long, tongue-in-cheek monologue about just how important every single word is that Emmett Cullen speaks.

Peter Facinelli is a jokester.

In relation to the fandom of "Twilight," the cast was asked what projects they were passionate about. Facinelli deadpanned that "Twilight" was the only thing he's a fan of, and that his entire DVD collection was only made up of "Twilight films" -- which he watches every day. During the same question, Nikki Reed was worried about not coming off as "passionate," but admitted that she's never waited in a line for a blockbuster movie. With no hesitation, Facinelli quipped, "Have you ever waited in a long line at Blockbuster?" At this point, Facinelli was brave enough to admit that he camped out for "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace." (If I had to pick one cast member of "Twilight" to be my friend, I would choose Peter Facinelli.)

When testing the microphones, the person in charge of such things says...

"Twilight, Twilight. One, two, three, four. Twilight, Twilight. One, two, three, four." Admittedly, if this were all anyone in the cast would have said in response to any question, it would have at least made for a much more surreal event.

Who Is The Highest Paid Entertainer Under 30?

$

0

It looks like girls really do run the world. Led by pop country crooner Taylor Swift, female singers dominated Forbes' annual "Highest Paid Under 30" list.

At only 22 years old, Swift is not only the highest paid musician, but she's also the highest paid entertainer under 30. Forbes reports the singer earned $57 million between May 2011 and May 2012. Each of Swift's three albums -- "Taylor Swift," "Fearless" and "Speak Now" -- has gone platinum four times over. Not to mention that the "Sparks Fly" singer recently ended her world tour, for which she earned up to $1 million per show. She also contributed two tracks to the highly anticipated "Hunger Games" soundtrack.

Swift's star isn't about to fade anytime soon. The starlet recently teased her fans with the possibility of new music on the horizon. "Oh hey! I'm writing you from Nashville, where I just sat in a big room with a lot of people and made a lot of decisions about a lot of things happening very soon," she wrote on her Facebook on Monday. "And as vague as that sentence was, I think you know what it means. Stuff is about to happen. And I love you more than ever."

Swift narrowly edged out 18-year-old Justin Bieber, who came in second place with an estimated $55 million in earnings for the same time period. The success of Bieber's concert movie "Never Say Never" could have contributed to led to an uptick in album sales.

Meanwhile, fellow singers Rihanna ($53 million), Lady Gaga ($52 million, significantly down from the $90 million she pocketed last year), Katy Perry ($45 million) and Adele ($35 million) round out the top six. Who said the music industry was dead?

The only actors who made the cut were the three stars of "The Twilight Saga" -- Kristen Stewart ($34.5 million), Taylor Lautner ($26.5 million) and Robert Pattinson ($26.5 million) -- while rapper Lil Wayne, 29, ranked at No. 8 with $27 million.

Lindsay Lohan In The Red?

$

For many celebrities, a trip to rehab requires not only a tremendous mental and emotional commitment, but an exorbitant financial one, too.

The habits of stars such as Lindsay Lohan have left quite a dent in their bank accounts. The "Liz & Dick" actress, who seems to have turned her life around after undergoing five stints in rehab, likely spent more than $150,000 on her numerous trips to the hush-hush haven.

A notorious celebrity rehab hot spot, the Betty Ford Center has played host to a long list of celebrities seeking help with battling their demons: Robert Downey Jr., Drew Barrymore, Anna Nicole Smith, Elizabeth Taylor and Tony Curtis have all visited the California institution. But we have a feeling that the cost of treatment is far steeper for this generation of young Hollywood.

"Adults 18 years of age and older come to the Betty Ford Center for treatment because their life under the influence of alcohol and/or other drugs has become unmanageable," the center says. "Our Inpatient Program provides a thorough clinical and medical assessment, detoxification, and primary treatment services."

For 30-day inpatient treatment, an addict seeking help will have to pony up $32,000 for all-inclusive supervised detoxification services, though any medication is an added cost. Those of a certain age eager to kick their habit for good can also opt for the 90-day young adult track, which will set them back $61,000.

Lohan's $150,000 rehab estimate, which is likely on the low side, is nearly 10 percent of her net worth (reportedly $2 million) -- not chump change for someone who has had a tough time, as of late, nailing down a job.

Why 'The Dark Knight Rises' Was Delayed

NEW YORK -- It's possible French actress Marion Cotillard could have been replaced as a love interest for Christian Bale's Batman in the movie, "The Dark Knight Rises"

That's because she was due with her first child, a son named Marcel, around the beginning of filming for the third installment in the franchise.

Director Christopher Nolan tells the August issue of Vogue magazine he wanted to "figure it out."

Most of her scenes were pushed back a month and Nolan made room on set for Cotillard's family.

Still, he marveled at the Academy Award winner's ability to do her job so soon after giving birth, calling it "amazing to see" and describing her as "Superwoman."

Nolan and Cotillard also worked together on the 2010 film "Inception."

The August issue of Vogue magazine hits stores July 24.

'Kardashians': Bruce Tells Kris He's Worth More To Her Dead

$

Earlier this season, there was Kris Jenner talking to a former boyfriend. And now this week on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" (Sun., 9 p.m. ET on E!), the episode showed a supposed darker side to Bruce Jenner. Apparently, he can be mean when traveling. But is he being provoked by his wife?

The jury seems to be divided on that one. Ology seems to side with Kris, agreeing that "we surely saw a different side of Bruce tonight." But The Stir came to the former Olympic champion's defense.

"Nothing we saw tonight justified the way we've seen Kris treat him over the years," their writer said. This week's episode saw some more of that Kris charm, as she snapped at Bruce several times while they were traveling, calling him an idiot when he said he wasn't comfortable driving her Rolls Royce, and telling him that looking like a hot mess is his image.

Khloe found herself in the middle of an argument, when Kris said Bruce couldn't buy a plan to get back into flying. Bruce snapped back that with all the life insurance Kris has out on him, he's worth more to her dead.

"You should be happy I’m flying, honey," he said, as Khloe's jaw dropped. "I should be racing cars!"

Is the Jenner marriage in trouble, or is it just normal squabbling? "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" continues Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on E!

'Political Animals': Weaver And Gugino Head To Head

$

In HuffPost TV Critic Maureen Ryan's review of "Political Animals" (Sun., 10 p.m. ET on USA), she called the dynamic between Sigourney Weaver and Carla Gugino "one of the main pleasures" of the series. Certainly, those strong female roles were on prominent display in the premiere of the political mini-series.

Weaver plays Elaine Hammond, a very obvious nod to Hillary Clinton. In this world, her husband Bud Hammond was a two-term president who cheated on her, while Elaine fell short in the primary and accepted the role of Secretary of State. All of that rings as very familiar.

The gay son with a substance abuse problem and the other son who's the "good boy" are more unique to the story, as is Elaine demanding a divorce from her husband after her failed presidential bid, but the most dynamic element thus far is the relationship between Elaine and journalist Susan Berg (Gugino). Susan rode the scandal of Bud's infidelity to a Pulitzer, and managed to blackmail her way into a week by Elaine's side by threatening to reveal a suicide attempt by the aforementioned troubled son.

Toward the end of this premiere, though, Susan has lost the leverage through every fault of her own. She's sleeping with her editor and she told him the suicide story. He, in turn, gave it to a young upstart colleague of hers he was also sleeping with, and suddenly Elaine has no reason to keep her around.

But ultimately the two women find themselves uncomfortable allies, each discovering that they can use the other for their own gains. Something Bud and Elaine do as well. It's perhaps the uglier side of getting things done, but it is the way much of the world works.

"Political Animals" continues Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on USA.

Teixeira's Bat Goes Flying.. To Spike Lee

Spike Lee is a very, very lucky sports fan.

The Oscar-nominated director is usually seen sitting courtside at every New York Knicks home game and occasionally interacting with the players. But during the summer time, Lee sometimes heads up to the Bronx to watch the Yankees right behind the dugout.

In the very first inning of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Angels at Yankee Stadium, Lee was lucky enough to have Mark Teixeira accidentally launch his bat into his section. Lee quickly grabbed the bat, showed it off to the fans and then showed off his left-handed swing.. all with an enormous child-like smile on his face.

How Duran Duran Members Avoided Sleeping With Minors

Duran Duran's John Taylor has put his wild partying days into words in his new autobiography, "In The Pleasure Groove." From the sound of it, those years were one non-stop, cocaine-fueled bout of sexual promiscuity.

“I didn’t want to be lonely, and the drugs ensured I never was,” he writes (via The New York Post). “I’m a pinup on thousands of bedroom walls, but the fear of loneliness is turning me into a cokehead.”

Cocaine may have been one of his problems, but Taylor also found himself in bed with a bevy of women. The band had an interesting (if discomforting) way of staying out of serious trouble.

“Of absolute necessity for any touring musician is the itinerary,” Taylor wrote of his 1981 US tour. “In the left-hand corner of each page of the US itinerary, there was a number, usually 18, 21, or 20. It was months before I was let in on the secret. The numbers referred to the legal age for sexual intercourse in that particular state.”

Taylor isn't the only rocker with a promiscuous past. On Wednesday, biographer Chris Andersen put a number on Mick Jagger's sexual history.

"Mick Jagger has slept with 4,000 women over the course of his life," the author told Extra. "And in retrospect, I think that might be kind of a low figure."

These die-hard Bieber fans are going to be really disappointed when they see this.

A young man who's reportedly staying at the same hotel as Justin Bieber used his looks to taunt crowds waiting outside the building, the video's YouTube description explains.

The Bieber look-alike is met with high-pitched cheers each time he peers at fans below. And although the impostor might not have Biebs' fashion sense, looks can be deceiving from several stories away.

Of course, there's always the slight possibility the real Bieber appeared in another window at exactly the same time. After all, the teen heartthrob has been known to surprise fans with unexpected gestures.

Last month, Bieber serenaded fans from a balcony in Paris. The Canadian singer told his Twitter followers to join him for a sing-a-long outside Universal Music headquarters, and those who showed up got to hear Bieber perform "Boyfriend" through a megaphone, Celebuzz reports.

YouTube user millyengland posted the Bieber fake-out clip online on July 15, and within a few hours, it was featured on Reddit's front page.

Bieber is currently in Australia for a promotional tour. He's scheduled to visit Melbourne and Sydney for interviews and an appearance, the Herald Sun reports. Questions about Selena Gomez are prohibited.

Some rumors suggest the relationship between the 18-year-old and his girlfriend is "on the rocks," WENN reports. However, the couple was spotted together during a trip to Japan looking happy as ever, the New York Daily News observes.

The story of Beyonce and Michelle Obama's mutual-appreciation has crept onto the campaign trail. In a new video released by the president's re-election campaign, the singer reads an open letter she previously posted on her blog.

"Michelle Obama is the ultimate example of a truly strong African-American woman," the 30-year-old chanteuse begins before eventually adding, "I am in awe of [the First Lady]."

Obama took her daughters to Beyonce's May concert. That show, which took place in Atlantic City and was also attended by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, was part of the singer's post-pregnancy comeback concert series. Around the same time, Obama chose Beyonce as the one person she would want to choose places with.

The dynamic duo also collaborated on "Move Your Body," a fitness video geared at getting children exercising.

Here's the full text of Beyonce's letter, as posted on her blog.

On a doctor's orders, this episode of "Big Ang" (Sun., 9 p.m. ET on VH1) spotlighted the titular heroine's attempts to get healthy. But eating right and exercising and kicking both alcohol and cigarettes certainly seems like a lot of work. So how about a colonic as a shortcut?

She wouldn't have wound up in this predicament if she didn't let psychic predictions loom in her mind. One her friend got had her running to the doctor. And while she was in generally good health, he did recommend cutting back on the booze and smoking.

Big Ang actually said she doesn't smoke that much, but because she had to use her voice to say the words, the doctor wasn't buying it for a minute. Some things simply can't be hidden.

But while her physical health might be alright, her mental health is heading down the toilet thanks to the added stress of Neil and his truckload of crap moving back in. So the solution to all that stuff is ... a new house?

At the doctor's office for the colonic, even the child-size tube is too much for Ang, who bluntly declares, "Exit only, motherf*****! ... I don’t need no tube in my a**, I need a cigarette in my mouth!"

The healthy lifestyle lasted all of four days, but it was fun seeing Big Ang try to clean up her act.

The adventures of "Big Ang" continue every Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on VH1.

Seven episodes in, and the layers of Sheriff Walt Longmire are still being peeled back layer by layer. It's a slow process, allowing viewers into his mind bit by bit and piece by piece. That makes Walt's motives sometimes as much of a mystery as the case of the week on "Longmire" (Sun., 10 p.m. ET on A&E).

This week he revealed a tidbit he was clearly ashamed of while working a case dealing with adultery. He said to his partner Vic, "I cheated on my wife."

As Walt is a man of few words, that was about all she was going to get on the subject. But Vic was able to put two and two together. "Is that why you were drinking?" she asked. "Guilt?”

Walt's silence in the moment seemed to confirm her suspicions.

Vic's having some trouble of her own at the homestead, as her beau is frustrated with the demands of her job. But is he justified in feeling this, or just feeling a little controlling and possessive. If it's the latter, he should just as soon get over it. Nobody controls Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff)!

Ian is a self-professed "super-fan" of "Big Brother" (Sun., 8 p.m. ET on CBS), so shouldn't he know about the live feed into the HOH Room? Apparently, he forgot about this little detail, as he was up and cavorting around the house doing some very strange things in the middle of the night.

He thought no one could see him, but coaches Britney and Janelle were up in the HOH Room with current HOH Willie, and the three of them were mesmerized by Ian's bizarre behavior. Throughout the episode, though, Ian's behavior became more and more creepy and off-putting to several of his fellow contestants.

Luckily, his coach won the new Coach's Challenge, and wisely gave Ian immunity for the week. That left Willie scrambling to figure out who to nominate. As Britney and Janelle have their teams working together, Willie targeted what he saw as the strongest players on the other two coach's teams. Thus, he targeted Kara and Frank.

"Big Brother" continues with the Power of Veto competition on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET with the first live eviction the following night at 9 p.m. ET, and then back again on Sunday at 8 p.m. to round out its thrice-weekly schedule.
