Rebel Wilson Called Out After Joking About Police Injustice At VMAs

Twitter users called out Rebel Wilson Sunday after the comedian took part in a bit about police injustice before introducing the Best Hip-Hop Video at the VMAs.

"I know a lot of people have problems with the police, but I really hate police strippers," she said, dressed in a police uniform, before taking it off to reveal a bodysuit reading "F**k Tha Police Stripper." She then went on to joke about getting a police stripper for her grandmother's birthday who wouldn't "feel her up."

"I hate this injustice," she joked, "hence the shirt."

People on Twitter quickly called out the actress for joking about such a serious topic:

Justin Bieber Hasn't Performed At The VMAs Since He Was That Sweet Kid With The Haircut

The last time Justin Bieber performed at the MTV Video Music Awards, he couldn't vote or grow a mustache.

But, Bieber made his return to the VMAs stage on Sunday night with a performance of "Where Are U Now" and his newest single, "What Do You Mean?" At 21, he proved he's still "the kid with the hair," with a new side-swept 'do.

He took things to new heights with some mid-song flying, and ended the song with tears.

Back in 2010, the pop singer performed a medley of "Baby," "Somebody To Love" and "U Smile."

Other performers on Sunday's lineup included The Weeknd, Pharrell, Demi Lovato and A$AP Rocky.

Big Sean took home the Video With A Social Message VMA for "One Man Can Change The World" Sunday night. He took the stage with Kanye West and John Legend, both featured on the song.

Big Sean dedicated the win to his late grandmother --  one of the first Black female captains in World War II -- who showed him that one man can change the world.

Other nominees in the category included “Try” by Colbie Caillat, “I Still Love You” by Jennifer Hudson, “American Oxygen” by Rihanna, and “The White Shoes” by Wale.

Kanye West Pretended To Rush The Stage When Taylor Swift Beat Beyoncé Again At VMAs

Everyone seemed to be into the joke except for Kim Kardashian.

Taylor Swift won the Best Female Video award at the MTV VMAs for "Blank Space," beating out Beyoncé's "7/11."

Kanye West once again stole the show -- as he did in 2009, when he memorably rushed the stage to tell Swift that "Single Ladies" was "one of the best videos of all time" -- but this time did so in a much more likable fashion.

Such a dad joke, and Kim Kardashian was not having it. Kanye's smile slowly drops as Kim just gives him no recognition for the ruse.

Then Kanye started fake-sleeping to seal the fact that he's the true winner of this year's VMAs.

Lot of haters out there. Lot of people who think Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are just two personal brands-slash-money-making machines that combined forces to maximize their future earning potential.

Unfortunately for the haters, THEIR LOVE IS REAL AND NOW WE HAVE PROOF. The king and queen of the United States of America shared a moment at the Video Music Awards on Sunday that was so sweet and so fun and so cute and so "YASSSS" that it cannot be denied, OK? Anyone who has ever truly loved another person can relate to the above Vine.

And if you can't, well, we have some bad news: It's not going to last with whoever you're with and you.

Pharrell Brought 'Freedom' To The VMAs

Kanye West's presidency announcement is an impossible act to follow, but Pharrell pulled it off. He performed at the MTV Video Music Awards for the first time as a solo artist on Sunday, bringing his uplifting anthem "Freedom" to an outdoor stage in downtown Los Angeles.

The 42-year-old singer and producer performed alongside the Pussycat Dolls and Ludacris in 2006. He also joined Diddy, Usher, Busta Rhymes and Ginuwine for a medley in 2002.

Pharrell wasn't a VMA nominee this year, but his smash hit "Happy" was up for three awards in 2014, including Video of the Year. "Freedom" is Pharrell's first single to follow his most recent album, "Girl."

Kanye West Is Running For President In 2020

Kanye West, greatest human on earth, announced Sunday that he will be running for president of the United States of America in 2020.

"I have decided in 2020 to run for president," West said Sunday at the VMAs. The announcement naturally led to huge applause for the future leader of the free world.

The announcement was made during West's acceptance of the Video Vanguard Award. As it is only 2015, there will still have to be an interim president elected in the meantime in 2016.

West also discussed additional things during the speech, such as his grocery shopping habits, the children, art and a bunch of other stuff. But none of that matters now.

Update -- 11:18 p.m.: Khloe is down.

Kanye West Apologizes To Taylor Swift During VMAs Acceptance Speech

Taylor Swift presented Kanye West with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

The network aired a tribute to West's videography before Swift took the stage and said, "I first met Kanye West six years ago at this show, actually," referencing his famous 2009 stage-rushing of her win for Best Female Video. The "Blank Space" singer said "College Dropout" was the first album she bought on iTunes, before joking, "Imma let you finish, but Kanye West has one of the greatest careers of all time."

Then, West walked on stage and continued to shut down the entire VMAs. After standing silently for a seriously long time, basking in the audience screams, he launched into the most scattered, random acceptance speech of all time. He rambled about grocery shopping for fresh juice with his daughter, baseball games, and how he doesn't "understand award shows," before announcing that at the end of the day, he really wants you to just listen to the kids.

Through all of his bumbling though, West reflected on how much he's changed over the years since becoming a father, leading him to apologize to Swift for "Imma let you finish"-ing her in 2009.

"I think if I had to do it all again -- what would I have done? Would I have worn a leather shirt? Would I have drank half a bottle of Hennessy and given the rest of it to the audience? Y'all know you drank that bottle, too. If I had a daughter at that time would I have went on stage and grabbed the mic from someone else's? You know, this arena tomorrow is gonna be a completely different set up -- some concert ... This stage will be gone. After that night, the stage was gone, but the effect that it had on people remained."

But then, in his final statement, Kanye dropped the bomb: "I have decided in 2020 to run for president." So, yeah, that happened.

Jaden Smith Is All Of Us During Kanye West's VMAs Speech

Great news, world. Kanye West just announced his presidential run for 2020. Now, in even better news, no one was more into it than Jaden Smith.

Listen to the kid, bro! The actor stood stoic with his fist raised during West's epic speech, pretty much summarizing all our feelings in one image. Hey, quotes about "fresh juice" can do that to you.

The camera cut back to Smith a couple times, and his look didn't change. For all we know, his arm is still in the air.

Hey, it's about ideas, bro! And here's one for ya, Kanye: How about a West/Smith ticket in 2020? Make a decision quick, Ye. Jaden can't keep his arm up all day, all day.

Then again, maybe he can.

Taylor Swift Wins Video Of The Year For 'Bad Blood' At 2015 VMAs

Taylor Swift won Video of the Year at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards for "Bad Blood" on Sunday night.

Swift hit the stage with her girl squad, including Gigi Hadid, Martha Hunt, Hailee Steinfeld, Mariska Hargitay, Cara Delevingne, Selena Gomez, Serayah, Lily Aldridge and Karlie Kloss. The singer thanked Kendrick Lamar, who was featured in the video but wasn't present at the VMAs to accept the award with her. Surprisingly, Swift didn't announce a run for presidency though, unlike her buddy Kanye West

Swift and Lamar's "Bad Blood" beat out Beyoncé's "7/11," Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud," Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" and Lamar's "Alright." Let's hope there's no bad blood between any of them -- because band-aids don't fix bullet holes, guys.

"Bad Blood," aka the most female celebrity-packed video ever, was nominated in six other categories, including Best Collaboration. Swift's video for "Blank Space" won Best Pop Video and Best Female Video.

Last year's Video of the Year award went to this year's host, Miley Cyrus, for "Wrecking Ball." The singer famously used her acceptance speech to share the spotlight with a young man and advocate for homeless youth.

The 10 Most Instantly Legendary Lines From Kanye's VMAs Speech

0
0

Holy mother of all that is good, Kanye West's speech at the Video Music Awards on Sunday was all sorts of burning fire. It defies analysis. It cannot be contained or controlled. It can barely even be written about. We really don't even know why we're trying. All that we can do is lay down these top 10 lines and slowly walk away. Man.

  1. I think about when I'm in the grocery store with my daughter and I have a really great conversation about fresh juice at the ... you know.

  2. And I think if i had to do it all again -- what would I have done? Would I have worn a leather shirt?

  3. Y'all know you drank that bottle, too.

  4. I still don't understand award shows.

  5. I just wanted people to like me more. But fuck that, bro. 2015.

  6. Y'all might be thinking right now, "I wonder, did he smoke something before he came out here?" And the answer is yes, I rolled up a little something.

  7. I don't know what's going to happen tonight, I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow, bro.

  8. We the millenials, bro. This is a new mentality.

  9. We're not gonna control our kids with brands.

  10. And yes, as you probably could've guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.

Miley Cyrus Drops New Album 'Miley Cyrus And Her Dead Petz' At VMAs

The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards was one hell of a show. Kanye announced his run for presidency in 2020 (#Kanye2020), Nicki Minaj settled her feud with Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus pulled a Beyonce and dropped an entire album for free.

Yes, after giving what was definitely the most bizarre performance of the night (we get it Miley, you smoke pot), the "Wrecking Ball" singer went ahead and pulled out one last stop, releasing her new album, "Miley and her Dead Petz." For free.

If the song titles ("Bang Me Box," "I'm so Drunk" and "Slab of Butter" for example) are any indication, it's going to be seriously trippy. You can download it for yourself right here

Miley Cyrus Reminds Us Ad Nauseam She Smokes Pot During The VMAs

0

Miley Cyrus brought up marijuana so often during this year's VMAs, you'd think she was a freshman during orientation week at college. She's totally cool, guys. She's down with Mary Jane. She likes the ganja. The reefer. The chronic. What she's saying is that she knows what drugs are and isn't afraid to wear that knowledge on her sleeve.

We don't judge stars for their legal recreational drug use around here (Miley, you only smoke in Alaska, Oregon, Washington and Colorado, right?) but the emphasis on her affinity for fat Js was a little much. She brought up her little friend while trying to out-Ellen the 2014 Oscars host in her opening monologue.

Then she tried some of Snoop Dogg's feel-good brownies in a sketch, which made her think Snoop had transformed into her pig, "Pig." Look at her feelin' it.

Perhaps she should've just done it like Kanye West, who admitted in the middle of his long-winded yet powerful, crowd-pleasing speech that he did, in fact, roll one up before stepping on stage. Everyone loved that. No one rolled their eyes because he made the marijuana reference merely a side dish to his full, hearty speech meal. Not to be outdone, Miley came back on stage to ask why he hadn't shared. Because she smokes pot.

She closed out the night with a debut of her song, "Do It," during which she finally confirmed the one thing we were still in the dark about: "Yeah, I smoke pot / Yeah, I love peace." Well, at least she and her dancers looked pretty cool while doing it.

Donald Trump Would Love To Run Against Kanye West For President

0

Unless you live under a rock, you've probably heard that Kanye West plans on running for president in 2020. The rapper made the announcement in a puzzling-yet-amazing 13-minute speech at the MTV VMAs. Ye captured the attention of the nation -- presidential hopeful Donald Trump included.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, The Donald admitted he was watching the awards when West gave his instantly iconic speech. "I said, 'That's very interesting. I wonder who gave him that idea,'" the real estate mogul told the magazine.

Following the awards show, the comparisons between the rapper and the creator of "The Apprentice" started rolling in, which Trump said he didn't "quite get."

But that doesn't mean he wouldn't run against West if given the chance. In fact, he'd welcome the opportunity.

"He's said very nice things about me in the past ... extremely positive things," Trump said. "He's actually a different kind of person than people think. He's a nice guy. I hope to run against him someday."

So there you have it. Trump vs. West could very well become a reality. Who would you vote for?

Azealia Banks Thinks Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj And Taylor Swift Are All 'Basic'

0
0

Azealia Banks has some input on the Miley Cyrus-Nicki Minaj-Taylor Swift trifecta, and it all boils down to everyone being basic.

The rapper took to Twitter Tuesday to discuss Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards, hosted by Cyrus, during which Cyrus was called out by Minaj for dissing her in a New York Times interview when discussing Minaj's prior bad blood with Taylor Swift. (ICYMI, Minaj patched things up with Swift during her opening performance.)

Banks thinks they're all basic

Banks did say she bought Minaj's latest album, "The Pinkprint," and enjoyed some of it "because some of the songs were cute and I link pink and Barbies and girly shit."

In July, after the VMAs nominations were announced, Banks tweeted her disdain for the entire show after Minaj spoke out about possible racial bias entrenched in the nomination process.

Jennifer Lawrence Embodies Old Hollywood Glamour In New Dior Ad

Jennifer Lawrence's new Dior ad is here to teach us a lesson in lipstick application.

In the clip, the "Joy" star looks stunning, as usual, as she expertly applies her magenta Dior Addict lip color, one slow and steady swipe at a time. She barely even uses her tiny compact mirror to get the outline straight -- now that's talent.

JLaw looks like an old Hollywood starlet with an updated modern edge. Her blond bob is left down and wavy and her brows are groomed to perfection.

"Don't be shy," she tells viewers as Fischerspooner's "Emerge" plays in the background. "Shine."

It's as simple as that. Watch below to see for yourself.

People like to say the Kardashians don't have talent, but Kendall Jenner is killing it in the modeling world.

The 19-year-old just starred in her first full-length fragrance commercial for Estée Lauder, and it's red hot.

Even hotter is a short video the cosmetics company shared on Instagram on Tuesday, featuring the model in a bright red satin dress, while she practices her best come-hither stare -- and it's safe to say she's mastered the look.

Avril Lavigne And Chad Kroeger Split After Two Years Of Marriage

Another celebrity relationship falls victim to the summer of celebrity splits as Avril Lavigne announced on Wednesday that she and Chad Kroeger are separating after two years of marriage.

"It is with heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today. Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we've created many unforgettable moments. We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support," the 30-year-old Canadian wrote in an Instagram post.

Kroeger proposed to Lavigne in August 2012 after dating for just over a month. They married in July 2013 in a lavish ceremony in a castle in the south of France. The couple sport matching tattoos with the phrase "live in the present moment" in French on their left forearms.

The split comes as no surprise, since rumors the couple's marriage was in trouble began last September, when the singer celebrated her birthday without the Nickelback frontman.

The "Complicated" singer was previously married to Sum41 frontman Deryck Whibley, who happened to remarry on Sunday
