Patti Smith's 'Just Kids' To Be Made Into TV Series For Showtime

0
0

It's official: Patti Smith's bestselling memoir Just Kids is becoming a TV series.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the news on Tuesday and revealed the show would be co-written and co-produced by Smith herself, along with screenwriter John Logan ("Penny Dreadful"). The limited series will air on Showtime, home of "Dexter" and "Homeland."

The most important question about the show, though, is this: Who will play Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe, the iconic photographer whose relationship with Smith is at the center of Just Kids

A couple years after the book was published, Smith told Vanity Fair she once pictured Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in the roles.

"I remember the very first time I saw Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson together, when they were younger, and I thought, Those two kids could have easily played us when they were first starting," she said. "There’s something in his eyes. And Robert [Mapplethorpe] was also a bit shy, and a bit stoic. Kristen has a very special quality. She’s not conventionally beautiful, but very charismatic.”

That casting would definitely draw some major ratings, as there are plenty of people (us included) who'd love to see the former couple back on screen together (#Robsten4ever), but we won't hold our breath.

In that same interview, Smith continued, "We were unknowns, and I think it should be unknowns in the film, and young."

She added, "I love Mia Wasikowska. I love the girl who plays 'Hanna' -- Saoirse Ronan. She’s brilliant. The depth of that girl. There’s a lot of interesting actresses and actors for any project. It’s a subject I like to think about."

Who do you think could play the lead roles? We've put together a handy poll to help you out

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this poll asked who should play Robert Pattinson, not Robert Mapplethorpe.

Michelle Rodriguez Ate A Mouse Cooked In Her Own Urine

0
0

In today's weird news, Michelle Rodriguez ate a mouse cooked in her own pee. And no, that is not an exaggeration.

The "Fast and the Furious" actress ate the disgusting meal (if you can even call it that) on an episode of NBC's "Running Wild with Bear Grylls." Rodriguez and Grylls were hiking across the Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada when they ran out of food and water, leaving them to feast on whatever they could find/had on in them: a mouse and urine.

In the clip, Rodriguez goes behind a rock to fill a container with urine and then brings it back to Grylls so he can boil the mouse (which he caught himself, obviously) in it. And then comes the moment of truth: they eat the stewed rodent. (If you have a weak stomach, we suggest you don't watch.) Instead of explaining how it all goes down in gross detail, we'll just leave this video right here for you. Kendall Jenner And Hailey Baldwin Just Got Matching BFF Tattoos

0

Kendall Jenner and Hailey Baldwin have taken their friendship to the next level with some matching BFF tattoos.

Baldwin, 18, revealed the ink -- small broken hearts on the inside of the pair's middle fingers -- on Snapchat, and lucky for us, a few fans managed to screen grab the image.

Stephen Baldwin's daughter alluded to the tattoo a couple days ago when she tweeted, "I'm about to get my 6th tattoo #Momdontkillme."

After the tweet, she shared the closeup image on Snapchat with the words "Hails n Kenny." The ink was so fresh the girls were still wearing the transparent protective coverings.

But Kendall wasn't always pro-ink. In fact, earlier this year, the 19-year-old said she'd never get a tattoo.

"I have a really weird thing about forever," she told Allure magazine. "And my sister Kim always said, 'Don't put a bumper sticker on a Bentley.'"

But my, how things change. Both Kendall and Hailey already have matching dot tattoos (a la Phoebe Buffay), and now their hearts, so it's only a matter of time before they get full sleeves, right?

Kylie Jenner Was Clearly Unfazed By Appropriation Criticism, Because She's Back In Cornrows

0

Kylie Jenner is either a glutton for punishment, or she was just really unfazed by claims she was appropriating black culture the last time shared a photo of herself wearing cornrows.

If you haven't been keeping up with Kylie, the reality star celebrated turning 18 with a huge party this past Sunday. In true Kardashian-Jenner fashion, she made quite the entrance by showing up with a blonde weave.

Now, in case anyone isn't aware -- it's called a "weave" because the hair extensions are sewn or woven on top of one's own hair, which is often braided into cornrows so that the extensions will have a base to be sewn onto. So, there's a logical reason why Jenner was wearing cornrows again -- it's not quite as logical as to why she'd be cool with her pal Pia Mia Perez sharing a photo of her with the hairstyle on Instagram (though it's telling that the photo has since been deleted from Perez's account).

Meanwhile, Jenner also took to  Snapchat while she was wearing cornrows, sharing a video of her and Perez taking a nap. It seemed like a clear message she didn't care about the previous, or impending, criticism

'Modern Family' Star Ariel Winter Opens Up About Breast Reduction Surgery

"Modern Family" star Ariel Winter has opened up about her decision to have breast reduction surgery

In an interview with Glamour magazine, the 17-year-old actress (who plays Alex Dunphy on the hit TV show) discussed why she chose to have the procedure done and how it's helped her confidence.

Like most teens, Winter's body seemingly changed overnight.

"I remember being in my sister’s wedding and being so flat and thinking, ‘I just wish I would grow boobs!’ and then overnight I did. But then they kept growing and growing and growing and it didn’t seem like they were going to stop," she said. "I was 15 years old with [size] F [breasts]. It’s like, ‘How do you navigate that?'"

Not only did her chest make it difficult to find clothes that fit properly, it also became the center of a whole lot of media attention. Outlets like E! ran with headlines such as, "Ariel Winter's Cleavage Is Out of Control" and "Ariel Winter Rocks Crazy Cleavage Once Again," choosing to focus on her body and not her work. But not all teens want their changing bodies to be trending topics on the Internet.

"We live in a day and age where everything you do is ridiculed," Winter said. "The Internet bullies are awful. I could post a photo where I feel good, and 500 people will comment about how fat I am and that I am disgusting."

She added, "That’s [her cleavage] pretty much all I was known for and that upset me. It made me feel really uncomfortable because as women in the industry, we are totally over sexualized and treated like objects."

Aside from the emotional stress, Winter admits her chest was also the cause of physical pain. When it got so bad that she couldn't take it, she started thinking about breast reduction surgery. Winter noted her family has a "history of large breasts" so it wasn't too surprising when she brought up the idea.

"A few of my cousins have had breast reductions, so it wasn’t a shock when I decided to get one. I got it for myself. I can’t even really put it into words about how amazing it feels to really feel right."

The teen star knows the physical change is likely what everyone will be focused on, but for her, it's the emotional change that's most important.

"This is how I was supposed to be."

Three New Bill Cosby Accusers Come Forward, Attorney Gloria Allred Challenges Cosby's Lawyer

0
0

On Wednesday morning, attorney Gloria Allred revealed that three women she represents would come forward with accusations against Bill Cosby.

At a press conference that afternoon, Allred explained why former flight attendant Colleen Hughes and former actresses Linda Ridgeway Whitedeer and Eden Tirl decided to speak out now. Allred opened the press conference by discussing New York magazine's cover story with 35 of the 46 accusers and the powerful series of interviews and videos, referencing the one chair left empty on the cover. "Today that empty chair is filled by three new women, who alleged that they were victimized by Mr. Cosby," Allred said.

Before giving the podium to the women, Allred mentioned the comments made by Cosby's lawyer Monique Pressley, who stopped by HuffPost Live in July. During her interview, Pressley said that the women who came forward "waited too long" to report their experience. "I don't think that 10, 20, 30, 40 years later, people get to decide to come forward," Pressley said on HuffPost Live.

Allred called Pressley's comments a "pathetic attempt to defend Mr. Cosby," adding that "enough is enough."  Allred then challenged Pressley to a public debate. "Instead of trying to change the subject from specific allegations to vague truisms about the criminal justice system, I challenge you to debate me," Allred said. "Stand up like a woman and do it and please do not give some ridiculous excuse as to why you will not accept the challenge."

After Allred's message to Cosby's attorney, Whitedeer then told her story, alleging she was sexually assaulted by Cosby during an audition. In her statement, Whitedeer said, "When Cosby was done, there was a horrible mess of semen all over my face. I bordered on vomiting." After the alleged attack, Whitedeer said, "He was mumbling that I had been blessed with his seamen as if it was holy water."

"Even to this day," she continued, "I am still ashamed. [...] It is my turn to take the empty chair that I saw on the cover because I was assaulted in the chair in a job interview and I was not drugged."

The video below includes graphic language viewers may find upsetting to watch:

Colleen Hughes, a former flight attendant, read a statement recounting the American Airlines flight she met the comedian on years ago. Hughes said the comedian offered to take her to lunch at an Los Angeles hotel. When they arrived at the hotel, she said they went to the comedian's room where they shared a glass of champagne. Hughes said she woke up hours later confused, and realized she had been drugged and sexually assaulted.

"I was shocked. I didn't know how I had lost so much time. My clothes were thrown all over the room and I felt semen on the small of my back and all over me," she said.

A year later, Hughes saw Cosby on another flight in which he allegedly began flirting with her again. "I told him, 'You already had me once and I don't want to be drugged again.'"

Eden Tirl, who appeared on "The Cosby Show," spoke next. Tirl was 22 years old when she was cast as a cop during the show's fifth season. Tirl claimed that when she was left alone in a room with Cosby, he sexually harassed her. "I never came forward in 1989," she said. "I knew that I had been sexually harassed, I knew I should say something."

Despite all the allegations against Cosby, the actor has never been charged with a crime. However, a judge recently ordered the 78-year-old to be deposed in a lawsuit brought against him by a woman accusing him of sexually assaulting her at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles when she was 15 years old. The deposition marks the first time Cosby has been directed to testify under oath in response to complaints of sexual misconduct against him since he was deposed in a separate case and settled out of court nine years ago.

John Leguizamo Says High School History Makes Latino Students Feel 'Invisible'

0

Latino contributions to U.S. history remain largely absent from high school history books, and John Leguizamo is doing something about it.

The 51-year-old actor and comedian sat down with HuffPost Live’s Alyona Minkovski Tuesday to discuss his upcoming film “American Ultra” and his upcoming comedy project “Latin History for Dummies.”

Over the years, Leguizamo has had success with autobiographical one-man shows like “Freak” and “Ghetto Klown,” in which he details his life experiences as a Latino growing up in the U.S. These projects, he told HuffPost Live, arose partly because he felt Latinos were underrepresented in the media.

“It was like, I’m watching TV and I’m watching movies and listening to radio and we’re invisible,” Leguizamo said. “I was like, where are all the Latin people that I hang out with and goof with all day and talk about politics and talk about art?... So I started writing my own stuff, I wanted to see my people the way I saw them.”

On the topic of Latino visibility, the comedian showed particular concern for the absence of Latinos in U.S. history education -- despite research that shows Latino students exposed to ethnic studies perform better in school.

“Just imagine, you’re a white kid and all of a sudden everybody’s Latin and everything they’re teaching you is Latin and you don’t hear anything about yourself or about your contributions,” Leguizamo said. “You don’t know hear about George Washington, you don’t hear about Thomas Jefferson and you feel like you haven’t contributed anything. How would you feel? How would you think of your future? How would you think of your participation in American culture?”

“You feel like an invisible person screaming in the woods and nobody hears you,” he added. “And it’s really weird and unfair because we had huge contributions.”

Watch Leguizamo discuss Latino contributions to U.S. history above. And watch the full segment below to hear the actor's thought on who is to blame for the lack of Latinos in film.

Beyoncé Is Vogue's September 2015 Cover Star

Of all the September issues, none is more highly anticipated than Vogue's. There is an entire movie dedicated to it, for crying out loud.

And now, it seems the wait for this year's cover is finally over. After a leaked photo from a fan page made its way around the Internet Wednesday night, Vogue confirmed via Instagram and on its site Thursday morning that the "Flawless" songstress is, in fact, its cover star once again.

A photo posted by Vogue (@voguemagazine) on

This is the third time that Queen Bey has appeared on the cover of U.S. Vogue. She previously posed for the covers of the March 2013 and the April 2009 issues.

According to MTV, the 33-year-old singer, who Stella McCartney calls "the whole package: primal, rare, delicate, beautiful and powerful" in a preview for the story, is the third black female, after Naomi Campbell and Halle Berry, to appear alone on the September cover.

Shot by famed photographer Mario Testino, she looks absolutely stunning (as usual) in a Marc Jacobs dress and in the accompanying video posted to Vogue's site. We can't wait to get our hands on a copy when it officially hits newsstands Aug 25.

Over the years, we've seen her in some pretty insane outfits, both on the red carpet and onstage. In honor of the singer's 57th birthday on Sunday, we're taking a look at her best outfits over the years and ranking them according to badassery. Feel free to disagree with our picks, but you'd be wrong.

Katie Holmes looked like a different person on the set of her new movie, "All We Had," in Queens, New York.

Holmes was spotted wearing an acid-washed, strapless denim dress and sandals with an orange bag while filming scenes for the upcoming movie about a mother struggling to make a better life for her teenage daughter. She was photographed by paparazzi with co-star Stefania Owen at a Walmart.

"All We Had" marks the actress' directorial debut, The Hollywood Reporter revealed last year.

Ruby Rose Jokes About Being Compared To Justin Bieber On 'Conan'

Ruby Rose and Justin Bieber are the celebrity doppelgangers of the moment, but how does the Australian actress really feel about being compared to a 21-year-old from Canada with a bad reputation?

The "Orange Is the New Black" star spoke to Conan O'Brien about her much-talked about resemblance to the pop star, shrugging it off with a laugh and saying, "It must be very frustrating for him." But we beg to differ -- who wouldn't want to be compared to Rose? The 29-year-old also talked about her many tattoos, explaining that since she has so many (around 60), they've basically become one. Oh, and she also pointed out Conan's celeb look-alikes -- she was spot on.

Salma Hayek Eats Worms And Frogs On 'Watch What Happens Live'

Earlier this week, we saw Michelle Rodriguez eat a mouse cooked in her own urine, and now, Salma Hayek ate some worms. (What is it with celebrities eating disgusting things?)

On Wednesday's episode of "What What Happens Live," host Andy Cohen challenged the 48-year-old actress to a game of "Will Salma Eat It?" Fellow guest Craig Robinson was on hand to present the "Frida" star with a selection of foods considered (by some) to be gross. He then had to predict whether or not she'd eat the foods, which included worms, frog legs and spray cheese.

You can watch the whole clip above and find out where, if at all, Hayek drew the line.

My Nightmare of Being Wrongfully Accused, and How to Prevent That From Happening to Others

0
0
A career in the entertainment industry didn't make me an expert on the legal system, but being falsely accused of teen molestation came close. A sex abuse suit was filed against me a year ago, and my journey to exoneration -- the accuser's lawyers paid a seven figure settlement and admitted last month that their client's claims were "untrue and provably false" -- has convinced me that serious reforms are needed in the way courts handle these cases.

From the start, the allegations -- that I had drugged and raped a then-seventeen year-old named Michael Egan in Hawaii in 1999 -- were absurd: I wasn't in Hawaii 15 years ago and could prove it. In fact, neither was Egan. And although I do business with steely resolve, in my personal life I'm mild mannered and perhaps even boring.

But none of that mattered. Egan's cases against me and three others were announced at white hot press conferences bristling with television cameras and mostly uncritical reporters who watched Egan's mother erupt in tears and vow to "disarm the predators." Fueled by homophobia, the salacious lawsuits ignited a firestorm at the toxic intersection of a ponderous legal system and a click-bait inflected media culture.

Splashed across home pages and the evening news, the allegations went viral, evoking countless blog comments about the "faggots" who'd supposedly done these terrible things. Egan's unsupported claims were accepted as self-evident, while our denials were often discounted, downplayed or even twisted to fan the hysteria: "TV Exec Garth Ancier: I Didn't Rape That Kid" was one of TMZ.com's backhanded headlines. Other outlets ran stories without bothering to contact me or the other defendants.

In an instant, my sterling reputation -- built up over a forty year career in broadcasting that started at age 16 -- was vaporized. I was now unemployable, and advised to accept that I would never work as a media executive again. The personal impact too was devastating, and my health suffered as well.

The stale, wasteful and baseless case against me was only possible because Hawaii eliminated its statute of limitations on teen sex abuse. I abhor sexual misconduct and have tremendous sympathy for victims and their families. But statutes of limitation exist for a reason: memories fade over time, witnesses die, rumors spread, documents are discarded and physical evidence decays or disappears. Recognizing the sensitive nature of these cases, many states have lengthened their statutes -- but eliminating time limits altogether is unwise and can put defendants in an impossible position. Could you prove you weren't in Hawaii in August 1999? Probably not.

Mere weeks after Egan filed his lawsuits, his cases began to crumble in the face of his own prior sworn deposition statements that he'd never been to Hawaii and not been molested by anyone other than three other individuals whom he sued in 2000. Egan's primary 2014 attorney, Jeff Herman, either didn't bother to read the deposition or didn't care, and he himself had previously been suspended by the Florida Bar for dishonesty and banned for life from a federal court for a "credibility problem." But he was still able to use the media to troll for clients, and even had a list of Hollywood gay men he was targeting for accusations.

That tells us other reforms are needed as well.

First, attorneys in sexual misconduct cases should be required to contact the accused or his lawyers before filing suit and exchanging evidence.

Second, all states should adopt the California requirement that defendants in sexual abuse cases be granted anonymity until and unless a judge finds merit in the case,

Third, judges should develop an expedited procedure for determining this promptly. Press conferences and news releases should be prohibited.

Egan's lawsuits were finally withdrawn, but that simply left the matter in limbo. To achieve vindication -- and regain my standing in the business community -- I had to counter-sue for malicious prosecution, a lengthy, expensive and arduous process that has seen Egan scolded by the judge for lying in court and, separately, plead guilty in connection with unrelated federal fraud charges. We also learned Egan had bragged about falsely targeting Hollywood gay men. And although his former lawyers settled, Egan has not, and my case against him continues.

There has to be a better road to accountability. Lawyers who file these cases -- particularly if on contingency -- should be required to carry hefty malpractice insurance to ensure they can be held accountable for frivolous claims. Plaintiffs' attorneys in meritless cases should be required to pay defendants' legal fees. And lying in civil suits should bring criminal indictments for perjury, which today are scarce as hen's teeth.

This isn't just about the civil system though. Rolling Stone's 2014 story of a gang rape at UVA inflamed debate -- until the police determined the article had "no substantive basis" and the publisher retracted it as flawed. That incident echoed the 2006 rape allegations against Duke lacrosse players, which ended with all charges dropped and the DA jailed and disbarred. We all need to do more to slow the headlong rush to judgment in sex abuse cases and remember always that allegations aren't proof.

A year ago, evil landed on my shoulder and dug in its claws. As my nightmare ends, I'm finally free of its grip, but the scars on my psyche and good name will remain for the rest of my life. Perhaps with well-chosen reforms, it won't have to happen to anyone else.

J.J. Abrams Explains How He Picked The New 'Star Wars' Character Names

0
0

In Entertainment Weekly's Fall Preview issue, we take a trip to a galaxy far, far away for new photos and info about J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Beyond revealing the reason that led Abrams to sign on to the project -- the question "Who is Luke Skywalker?" was enough to hook him -- the issue also details how the filmmaker came up with the names of the new characters.

Here's how Adam Driver's Kylo Ren, Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron, Gwendoline Christie's Captain Phasma and more came into existence.

Kylo Ren: While we don't know much about Driver's Kylo Ren, who's allied with The First Order, we do know that he wasn't born with that name. "He is a character who came to the name Kylo Ren when he joined a group called the Knights of Ren," Abrams told EW. Fans also shouldn't expect Ren to be the typical bad guy. While Abrams called him more "complex," screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan said he's "full of emotion." Ren also made his crossguard lightsaber all by himself (as a handy Adam Driver would).

Poe Dameron: Sometimes a name just comes to you. That's what happened to Abrams with Oscar Isaac's X-Wing pilot. The character's first name was something that just felt right to the director (and also might've come from his daughter's toy polar bear's nickname). As for the last name, Abrams' assistant, Morgan Dameron, is to thank for the inspiration. Cue "Star Wars" fans applying for that job.

Captain Phasma: We got our first full look at Gwendoline Christie's First Order warrior, Captain Phasma, in Annie Leibovitz's Vanity Fair photo in May (after the character made a quick cameo in the film's trailer). Now we know that the chrome-suited character's name was inspired by the 1979 horror movie "Phantasm." Abrams told EW, "Phasma I named because of the amazing chrome design that came from Michael Kaplan’s wardrobe team. It reminded me of the ball in 'Phantasm,' and I just thought, Phasma sounds really cool."

General Hux: We got our very first look at Domhnall Gleeson's bad guy General Hux at the "Force Awakens" Comic-Con panel earlier this year. Although Abrams couldn't recall exactly how he thought up Hux's name -- it might have been during a walk with Kasdan when the two were discussing the film -- we do know that the base Hux is in command of, Starkiller, is an homage to Luke Skywalker's original last name in the "Star Wars" scripts

Finn and Rey: There aren't many details about John Boyega's runaway stormtrooper Finn and Daisy Ridley's scavenger Rey, mostly because we don't know their last names. When EW asked Abrams whether there's a reason he's kept their surnames a secret, he simply said it was "completely intentional." Get ready for some surprises.

BB-8: The cute new droid made his his first live appearance during the "Star Wars" Celebration event in April. So why the name? "I named him BB-8 because it was almost onomatopoeia,” Abrams told the magazine. "It was sort of how he looked to me, with the 8, obviously, and then the 2 B’s."

Check out brand new photos from "The Force Awakens" over at EW.com. The Fall Preview issue is available on newsstands now.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" hits theaters Dec. 18.

Dr. Dre Says He Regrets Beating Up A Female Journalist In The '90s

0

Dr. Dre has finally addressed his abusive past.

In 1991, hip-hop journalist Dee Barnes accused the rapper of brutally beating her in a Los Angeles nightclub. In a statement, Barnes claimed that Dre, then a member of gangsta rap group N.W.A, “grabbed her from behind by the hair and proceeded to punch her in the back of the head.”

Dre did not deny the incident at the time, even bragging about it in a 1991 Rolling Stone interview where he stated, "I just did it, you know. Ain’t nothing you can do now by talking about it. Besides, it ain’t no big thing -- I just threw her through a door."

In a new interview for the August 2015 issue of Rolling Stone,  the mogul now admits to deeply regretting his actions.

“I made some f**king horrible mistakes in my life. I was young, f**king stupid. I would say all the allegations aren’t true -- some of them are," Dr. Dre told the magazine.

"Those are some of the things that I would like to take back. It was really f**ked up. But I paid for those mistakes, and there’s no way in hell that I will ever make another mistake like that again."

The rapper recently released his final album, "Compton," to coincide with the world release of the N.W.A biopic "Straight Outta Compton." The film, which debuts on Aug. 14, has drawn criticism for glossing over the rap group's history of sexism and misogny -- including the incident between Dr. Dre and Barnes.

Kim Kardashian Continues Her Push For Gun Control

Kim Kardashian took a break from dispelling rumors she's faking her pregnancy to talk about something a little more pressing: gun control.

On Wednesday, the 34-year-old reality star took to Twitter, where she asked her 34.4 million followers if they'd heard the story of David Conley, who allegedly murdered his ex-girlfriend Valerie Jackson, her common-law husband, Dwayne Jackson, and her six children. Conley is accused of shooting all eight victims in the back of the head, and reportedly purchased the gun used in the crime online.

Kardashian tweeted:

Kardashian has spoken openly about her gun-control beliefs before. In June, during a question-and-answer session in Oakland, she was asked for an idea that would change the world and replied, "Gun control."

"I'm not the type to have them in my house. They scare me so much," she said, adding, "If I could do something to change the world … I'm not really a gun person, and we do not have strict enough gun control laws."

The reality star previously tweeted support for gun-control laws following the tragic shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, that left 26 people dead, including 20 children.

Kardashian's repeated calls for gun control mark a growing trend for the star,  who slowly seems to be become more socially conscious. Just last month, she also used her position as a celebrity and far-reaching social media platform to call attention to Sandra Bland's death. Additionally, she's become somewhat of a mental health advocate, having produced a documentary about  mental health in the social media age, which aired on HLN this past May.

See The Gorgeous Trailer For Natalie Portman's Directorial Debut

The first trailer for Natalie Portman's directorial debut has arrived.

The actress wrote and directed the Hebrew-language film "A Tale of Love and Darkness," which premiered at Cannes in May. The film, based on the autobiographical novel of Israeli author Amos Oz, is set during the end of the British Mandate for Palestine around 1945 and follows a boy (Amir Tessler) and his troubled mother (Portman).

There are no English subtitles in the new trailer for the film, but the stunning photography, courtesy of cinematographer Slawomir Idziak ("Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," "Black Hawk Down") is well worth the watch. There's also a look at Portman's powerful emotional performance, including one scene where she repeatedly slaps herself. If you want a little more context, or more to look at until "A Tale of Love and Darkness" gets a U.S. release date, Deadline has a clip with English subtitles.

Anne Hathaway is the latest celebrity to give us vacation envy.

The actress was spotted rocking some cute swimwear while relaxing aboard Valentino's yacht (no big deal) in Ibiza, Spain. The "Devil Wears Prada" star has been enjoying the sun with her husband, Adam Shulman, the Italian designer and his business partner, Giancarlo Giammetti.

One day, the 32-year-old rocked a tiny white and blue string bikini, which she wore while playing around in the water with Shulman. The next day, she opted for a super flattering strapless black one-piece suit that looked classic and chic.

And since she's on vacation, "The Intern" star has been rocking a glowing, makeup-free complexion.

She's living the good life, that's for sure.
