Media Figures Remember A TV Legend

The sad news of Dick Clark's death prompted an outpouring of remembrances and tributes from many media figures.

Clark died on Wednesday morning after suffering a major heart attack. He was 82 years old. Media figures including "Today" host Al Roker shared that he was with Clark in his office when the verdict in the OJ Simpson case was announced. The New York Times' Brian Stelter tweeted that he interviewed Clark over email just last year. Segment producers and bookers from ABC described memories of working with the famed television icon on "Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve" program.

Ryan Seacrest, who hosted "Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve" in recent years, tweeted that his thoughts were with Clark's family. "I am deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend Dick Clark. He has truly been one of the greatest influences in my life," Seacrest wrote.

Take a look at the slideshow below to see how journalists remembered Clark.

Joey DeAngelis: New Girl Recap: The 'Kids' Are Not All Right

$

Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 1, Episode 21 of FOX's "New Girl," titled, "Kids."

After viewing even one episode of New Girl, one can attest that these are, arguably, some of the most immature thirtysomethings on television. On the surface, "Kids" revolves around Jess having Russell's daughter, Sarah, over to hang out and Cece dealing with a pregnancy scare. Nothing revolutionary. But this episode goes to show that these adults are really just kids themselves.

The half-hour opens on Jess sitting with Cece as she worries about missing her period. Cece and Schmidt have been using contraception, but as we could probably guess, Schmidt goes full throttle in the sack and therefore, "birth control becomes, like, one of those plastic barbecue covers in a hurricane." The imagery!

Luckily, this marked the first appearance of Jeanne Tripplehorn (Big Love, Grey Gardens) as Russell's ex/Sarah's mom, Ouli! I am ecstatic to have this woman back on my TV screen again. Her screen time was short, but I'll take what I can get.

She drops off Sarah at the apartment and the chaos quickly ensues. Now, I'm not one for kids in comedies, but I laughed a surprising amount at the crazy things that were coming out of this girl's mouth ("Have you ... done a 99?", "How do you make love to a person animal-style?"). Soon, Sarah is professing to Jess that she is madly in love with Nick ("That Nick?"), and she delivers the line that got the biggest laugh out of me: "I wanna rub my face ... on his face!"

Speaking of Nick, he's been newly dating this girl who is mature and likes art. Right then, you can tell there's something wrong with her as Nick never picks a normal girl. While on his date, Nick receives a phone call from Schmidt after Cece asked him to take some other girl on a date to, of course, Italy on Ice. Schmidt pretends that Nick is Nic...ole, and the best dialogue is exchanged between the two.

Schmidt's ignorance to the pregnancy is ended rather quickly after Cece freaks out and reveals the secret. Schmidt's reaction was absolutely priceless, putting his head to her stomach and saying, "We made a caramel miracle!" And then the episode loses track.

Okay, maybe not "loses" it, but it didn't go anywhere until the last minute. The predictability factor was at an all-time high when Nick's date is revealed to be only 18. Typical Nick. Also, I feel like every relationship that Nick or Jess gets into ... no one can really get behind, because we all know that they are destined to be together. Sorry, Dermont Mulroney, but this is not going to last.

And naturally, by the end of the episode, Cece gets her period. New Girl doesn't need any kids, like, ever anyways. Babies ruin shows (except maybe Up All Night), even though a Schmidt baby would have incredible bone structure and breakdancing skills. But even though a baby isn't in the cards just yet, is marriage on the way for Cece and Schmidt? He had "MARRY ME" sky-written for her, but chose to shoo Cece off before she could see it. Maybe season two. Or four. I don't know; I don't really like TV marriages either.

Over in C-plot land, Winston has to drive his crazed boss to be on a TV show because he has too many DUIs to drive himself. I wasn't too thrilled about this, considering it had really nothing to do with anything. I like Winston. I really do, but I'm not a fan of his storyline in this episode. I didn't find any of it particularly funny. He's great in a group dynamic, as is basically every one of the characters. Let's just stick to keeping him in that dynamic.

Jeanne Tripplehorn's Ouli makes two appearances over the final three episodes of the season, so I can only expect things get crazier from here.

Best Quips of "Kids"

"Everything you say sounds really creepy when you're not wearing pants." - Jess to Nick

Schmidt's pronunciation of "popcorn" in Italian

Schmidt: You takin' care of that tushy -- takin' care of that tushy for me?
Nick: I'm not doing, like, squats or anything. I'm trying to eat less doughnuts.

"Your life's like Gossip Girl, but everyone is old and poor." - Sarah

"I just -- I just don't want to impregnate the baby, you know? I mean, we could have a Russian nesting doll situation on our hands." - Schmidt

Schmidt's Jewish baby boy names

"I might as well call you Bridge to Terabithia, because you make children cry!" - Jess

Jess: "Bye, Ouli! You rule-y!"
Ouli: "Bye, Jess! You're a mess!"

Dick Clark Style: A Look At His Fashion Over The Years (PHOTOS)

The first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of Dick Clark is probably not "style star."

But after being on camera for decades as the host of "New Years' Rockin' Eve" and "American Bandstand," it's clear the man knew a thing or two about wearing a suit and tie. After passing away at the age of 82, we're here to salute the man who made the suit, shirt and tie combo a staple among television anchors and journalists.

Even when hanging out with celebrities, Clark's outfits were sleek, well-tailored and always full of personality (hello, plaid suit!). He looks composed, confident and was always one of the most trusted entertainment anchors on air.

Take a look at a few of his looks over the years. And let us know what your fondest Dick Clark style memory is below.

Midi Matilda: Daft Punk Meets The White Stripes

Who: Midi Matilda

Current Gig: The dynamic duo of Logan Grime and Skyler Kilbornmidi make up Midi Matilda, a band that, in its brief five months of existence, has rocketed almost instantly into the ranks of the Bay Area's indie-pop vanguard. On the strength of a single EP and handful of inventive music videos (including "Ottawa," which is getting its world premiere right here right now at the top of this story), the band has sold out every show it's played and seems uniquely poised for imminent world takeover.

Current 'Hood: Logan grew up in San Rafael and lives in San Francisco's Noe Valley. Skylar grew up in central Texas and lives in Berkeley.

What's your favorite place in the Bay Area?
Skylar: Urban Ore in Berkeley. It's a used materials shop and the idea behind is that it replaces a lot of the things that would go into landfills. It's pretty much got everything. I got all the furniture for my house there and and all the stuff I'm using to build a speaker.

Logan: My favorite place is the opposite of that--it's West Marin. I love Limantour Beach out there, it's one of the biggest beaches in the Bay Area and it's always deserted.

Favorite Place To Eat?
S: Barney's Gourmet Hamburgers

L: Gracias Madre

How did Midi Matilda start?
S: We used to be in a garage rock band with a bunch of other people. That group eventually disbanded, but the two of us kept going. It was a pretty different sound than what we're doing now and it was pretty much was based on what we were listening to at the time--a lot of Kings of Leon and stuff like that.

L: But we kind of went about the whole thing backwards from the typical way most bands start out. Instead of immediately trying to play a lot of shows, we worked on recording songs, making videos and just getting our music out there and seeing if people liked it. Once we got a positive reaction, especially to the "Day Dreams" video, we started looking at playing shows.

How did that develop into what you're doing now?
S: What we're doing at the moment is based around our shared interests. We listened to a lot of the same music when we were kids: Fleetwood Mac and pop-punk bands like Blink-182, Nirvana and the Foo Fighters. There's also an element of bands like Sly and the Family Stone, although our music isn't quite as funky as that.

How did you come up with the name?
L: My great-great-grandmother's name was "Mini Matilda" and she used to own a gold mine in Virginia City. My dad created this robot character based off of the name called Midi Matilda. I always knew I wanted to use that name somehow and this fit--especially because "MIDI" is a electronic music term so it kinds of adds another dimension for people who know what that is.

What are your favorite venues to see music in San Francisco? Favorite venues to play?
S: I moved here from Texas and the first really cool concert I saw in San Francisco was at Slim's, so it'll always have a special place in my heart. We've only ever played two concerts so far--at Cafe du Nord and the Independent--and both of those places were great.

Your last video, "Day Dreams," was a huge hit online. How did you make it?
S: First, we shot a video in a studio of us dancing against a green screen. Then we made a rig and projected stills from that video onto surfaces all over San Francisco, Berkeley and Marin. Next we took still photographs of the projections, about 3,300 in total, and assembled them together like a stop-motion video.

Were you surprised by the positive reaction it received?
L: I'm always a little surprised when people like anything I put out (laughs). When we first released the video, we were contacting different blogs trying to get them to feature it and then randomly someone posted it on a blog in New York City and then it absolutely exploded and it was featured on like 85 music blogs overnight.

Can you tell me about the "Ottawa" live music video?
L: The "Ottawa" video was about us showing what the two of us can do live. We did it at Expression [College For Digital Media in Emeryville], where be both went to to school. It's really just us showing that, yes, we do really play all of the instruments live that are on our recording.

What can people expect from a Midi Matilda live show?
L: You see so many DJs onstage just sitting there behind a computer. We want to be more interesting than that. We want our shows to be like Daft Punk meets the White Stripes, but with more dancing.

See the premiere of "Ottawa" above, and check out this slideshow featuring some of Midi Matilda's other videos:

George Lopez will host Fox's dating reality series "Take Me Out."

The series, which premieres on Thurs., June 7 at 8 p.m. ET, will see Lopez play matchmaker to 30 single female contestants and male bachelors.

"I am thrilled to be hosting such an entertaining new series," Lopez said in a statement. "Anything can happen on a show like 'Take Me Out' and I'm looking forward to the excitement."

"Take Me Out" starts with 30 single women looking for love and will consist of four rounds. Each week, the female contestants will be introduced to several bachelors one by one. The women stand at a lighted podium with a switch that controls the potential date. If she thinks he's a match, her light stays on. If she feels it's a no-go, the light goes out. Eventually, the guys take control of the game and eliminate the women they're not into. During the last round of the series, the male bachelor will pose a final question to the two remaining women and choose a winner to join him on a fantasy date. The remaining 29, plus a new contestant, return for the next game.

“George's amazing energy, spirit and incredible comedic timing make him the perfect host for 'Take Me Out,'" Jeff Apploff, "Take Me Out" executive producer, said in a statement.

Lopez most recently hosted his own late-night talk show "Lopez Tonight" on TBS and is reportedly at work on a new sitcom.

Erica Diamond: 23 Secrets to Improve Your Life

I don't even know where to begin. I am still on a high after a magnificent weekend with my mom in Toronto attending Oprah's Lifeclass Tour. So many of you have tweeted me and Facebooked me asking for all the juicy details. So today will be a mixed bowl of those details, life lessons, and what I learned. Hold on tight, and come along with me on a ride of fun and education...

It all started Sunday. My husband was leaving on a business trip, and I was leaving for Toronto. We kissed our two boys goodbye, and headed to the airport for our respective flights. Walking in, I had to laugh. My mom and I showed up at the airport in the exact same outfit, completely unplanned. Quite typical of us. We were excited, and off on our first mother-daughter trip in almost a decade!

Mom and I at the airport en route to our mother-daughter getaway

After being delayed two-and-a-half hours, we finally touched down in Toronto. No kids for two days. Only one person to care for -- myself. I gotta admit, it was nice. I missed afternoon tea with the OWN Network. They had graciously invited me, but my delayed flight prevented me from attending.

Mom and I had dinner and went to bed early Sunday night, knowing that the doors opened at 7 a.m.

We woke up Monday morning EXCITED! We were goin' to Oprah, baby!! I tweeted to Miss O that morning.

"Show day! Out of the shower and getting ready for #OinTO at 7:30! Woo hoo!! @Oprah @IyanlaVanzant @tonyrobbins @DeepakChopra exciting!" - @WomenOnTheFence

If I tell you, I tweet Oprah ALL.THE.TIME to no reply. But all of a sudden, BING, Twitter reply.

OPRAH TWEETED ME!!

And with that tweet, we were off to the convention center. It was 6:50 in the morning, and we walked down the street to Starbucks for a quick breakfast to go. It was as if Oprah Winfrey owned Front Street. Women EVERYWHERE, all going to see Oprah.

At Starbucks before Lifeclass

After a lineup around MANY blocks, we were inside. My mom was immediately snapping pictures. She couldn't get enough.

We then entered the auditorium -- 8,500 women in one room is nothing to sneeze at. We were guided to our seats -- fourth row center. GULP!

The electricity, the synergy, the buzz in the room was palpable. Everyone was there by choice, not out of necessity, to learn and to self-improve. It felt as if this was a sacred place, a place to be your authentic self. That was the bond that connected all of us. And you could feel it -- 8,500 women thirsty for a better life. Thirsty for transformation and change. How cool.

And with that feeling, the day began. They called the first speaker to the stage -- a great Canadian entrepreneur and philanthropist, and star of the hit show, Dragon's Den. Lo and behold, it was my buddy Brett Wilson! I had no idea he was going to be there, so when he took the stage, I waved to him. Next thing I know, he called out in front of the entire crowd, "Oh wow, there's Erica Diamond!" In the words of Fifty Shades of Grey, I flushed scarlet. I ducked in my seat.

Next we heard from four incredible teachers, for about 30 minutes each: Tony Robbins, Deepak Chopra, Iyanla Vanzant and Bishop TJ Jakes. Alright, I expected Tony Robbins to be like a used-car salesman. But if I tell you, HIS TALK WAS LIFE-CHANGING. He was by far my favorite speaker. If you haven't read his books or attended his conferences, I urge you to do so. This guy is the real deal.

The set

All four speakers taught us some incredible life lessons. I wanted to share them with you. Here they are, in no particular order:

  1. "We're all born with infinite potential and creativity. We all have it in us. Each and every one of us. That's the only truth" - Deepak Chopra

  2. "The three things you can offer your children to change them: attention, appreciation and affection." - Deepak Chopra

  3. "None of us are imprisoned emotional or mentally unless we allow ourselves to be." -Iyanla Vanzant

  4. "Trade your expectation for appreciation and the world changes for you." - Tony Robbins

  5. "Change your state, change your happiness. We use drugs, sex, eating, smoking, drinking to change our state. You don't need to this." - Tony Robbins

  6. "Wanna keep your marriage in that same state of bliss you felt at the beginning? Then, DO you what you did at the beginning of your relationship -- you gave everything to this person. Do those things again and you will see the change and the reconnection with your partner." --Tony Robbins

  7. "Your story is what blocks you from your breakthrough. We believe the stories we tell ourself over and over again." - Tony Robbins

  8. "We all have our own story. And we stay attached to our story. This can stop us from growing and living. You wanna make your life better? Change your story, change your life."  - Tony Robbins

  9. "When you fail at something, you say you've tried everything cuz that makes you feel better. How have you really tried everything? If you had, you woulda found a solution. Bullshit!" - Tony Robbins

  10. "You get what you tolerate." - Tony Robbins (ONE OF MY FAVORITES OF THE DAY!)

  11. "Success leaves clues. Go figure out what someone who was successful did, and model it. Improve it, but learn their steps. They have knowledge." - Tony Robbins

  12. "No one talks about failure. Let's talk about it. Why did you fail? I always hear 'resources' as the excuse -- not enough time, money, energy, technology. People blame resources as the excuse for failure. It's not the lack of resources that cause failure, it's the lack of resourcefulness that causes failure. Resourcefulness is the cure to failure. Successful people are resourceful and find a way to make it work." - Tony Robbins (MY SECOND-FAVORITE OF THE DAY).

  13. "Decisions and not conditions determine your destiny. Your biography is NOT your destiny. Rather it's your DECISIONS that create your destiny." - Tony Robbins (And he used Oprah as a powerful example that her past, her story, did not get in the way of her destiny. Rather it was her life choices that changed her course. ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVORITES.)

  14. "The path of least resistance is the path with no joy, no growth." - Tony Robbins

  15. "Common sense is not common. If you're not doing it, it's not common." - Tony Robbins (SO TRUE.)

  16. "Leap and the net will appear." - Oh, I so believe this!!

  17. "How well you manage problems determines how far you go." - Bishop TJ Jakes

  18. "It's the things that go wrong that make you better." - Bishop TJ Jakes

  19. "Act like you know you're golden." - Iyanla Vanzant (as she danced down the aisles -- loved her).

  20. "Embrace the truth. Speak the truth. Be the truth. When we welcome the truth, we live our lives like it's golden." - Iyanla Vanzant

  21. "Tell the truth to yourself, about yourself. No one ever died from telling the truth. We often don't tell the truth. You gotta tell the truth as soon as you know it. - Iyanla Vanzant

  22. "Tell the truth in a way that's kind." - Iyanla Vanzant

  23. "Challenges are there to make you more aware of your inner purpose." - Deepak Chopra

And after two hours of incredible learning, my Oprah took the stage. Chills. Goosebumps. Tears.

She began telling us how thankful she was for all her fans, how she had been reading all the tweets and Facebook postings. She then said, "One girl wrote to me this morning that she just got out of the shower and was excited for Lifeclass." I don't know what made me blurt out -- and LOUD -- "THAT WAS ME!!!!!" Oprah then laughed and said, "Are you serious? WAIT, YES, IT WAS YOU! And you look just like your picture!" Again, I flushed scarlet.

And then, my Twitter was a buzzing: "Did Oprah just call you out from the stage?" and "Was Oprah just talking to you?" Then Adam Glassman, creative director of O, The Oprah Magazine tweeted me, "Was that just YOU xoxo?" Andrea Wishom, EVP of Harpo Studios wrote, "Hey! Just saw your cute moment with @Oprah just now!" "You look JUST like your picture!" "Have fun!" or "Saw you on the live streaming of Lifeclass. So cool!!! Is it as great as it seems?" Or "Oprah is talking to Erica Diamond. She must be on cloud 9!" They kept coming in.

All fun stuff.

Then, it was time to film Lifeclass. Our episode of Lifeclass on gratitude was about to be broadcasted live around the world. The curtain went up, and there they appeared.

Thank you all for tuning in!

So after a heavy six hours of learning, my mom and I walked back to our hotel, put on our running shoes, and explored Toronto. It was almost 90 degrees, and we ended up at a great Italian restaurant outside -- wine, pasta, and lots of conversation and reflections about the day. About our lives. About expectations, disappointments, celebrations, breakthroughs, and challenges.

We walked back to our hotel, showered, and there we were -- both in our own beds, on our own Macs watching Lifeclass, in our matching hotel bathrobes. It was quite the sight.

As I laid in my bed, I came to two real realizations: Those experts were really just preaching to the converted. It's funny, I find in life that the people who don't subscribe to spirituality or self-improvement, are usually the ones who need it the most. So, I urge you, if you are suffering in any way, to stop complaining, and take action. Movement, no matter how small, in the right direction, is game changing.

And second, Tony Robbins' concept is really one to embrace. There are really no excuses to failure. Resourcefulness and tenacity will win, every time. I speak from experience. You want something? Stop making excuses why you can't have it, and start getting resourceful. You'd be surprised just how resourceful and resilient women are.

When we arrived home yesterday, as I got out of the car to run in and see my boys for the first time in 48 hours, my mom took my hand, kissed it gently, and said to me, "These last two days were magical."

And they really were.

Tell me -- I'd love to know if any of the 23 lessons hit home, or if you have any of your own secrets that have improved your life. This is a broad community of women, always looking to get off the fence, and take the jump to their happiness. Share your tips and thoughts.

Former Child Star Anna Chlumsky Is Back

Former child star Anna Chlumsky returns to the spotlight this week, playing the chief of staff to Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ vice president in HBO’s new political sitcom, "Veep."

Best known for her role as Vada Sultenfuss in the 1991 film "My Girl," Chlumsky found fame as a child star; but as for many young performers, transitioning to more adult roles proved difficult. The 31-year-old actress tells New York magazine that she didn't want to stop acting, but as her body matured, casting directors mistook it for fat and offers for roles dried up.

She continued to audition throughout college at the University of Chicago, but realized her career wasn't going anywhere and decided to focus on her education. At her last audition she "totally froze," she told the Chicago Tribune in 2010. "'I was like, 'You know what? I don't know how to act, I'm not good at this, I don't know what I'm doing, and it's not my calling.'"

Chlumsky took a nine-year break from Hollywood, graduated from college, moved to New York and found unfulfilling jobs in media and publishing. But unlike fellow former child star Mara Wilson, Chlumsky found that she began to miss acting.

Chlumsky credits legendary singer-songwriter Roberta Flack, whom she randomly met in a nail salon, for encouraging her to get back into the business. But it wasn't until she had a long talk with her husband that she realized she wanted to start acting professionally again.

“I can’t be the grandma with my grandkid on my knee telling them to follow their dreams and have them say, ‘Did you?’ and go, ‘No, I didn’t, but you should,'" she told the magazine.

But following her dreams wasn't so simple. She signed with a new agent, enrolled in acting classes and eventually began to land small roles on "30 Rock," "Law & Order" and "White Collar," before landing the role on "Veep."

Though she's eager to move beyond her fame as a child actor and prove herself as an adult, she tells New York she understands she'll always be tied to "My Girl."

"People look to you to replace a part in their lives that they can't get back," she explains. "You can't get the past back, you can't do it. We've all tried."

The Teen Craze That's Causing This Dad To Cry

While some parents may need a primer on why their daughters love One Direction, Australian dad Anthony Lee clearly gets it. He must not balk at the multitude of One Direction accessories (ranging from sneakers to charm bracelets), young Tweeters staying single until the boy-band members become available, or a college student who waxes poetic about why she loves the group so much -- and why you should, too. Apparently, Lee listened.

When daughter, Catie Rose, dreamed about seeing One Direction live, he joined forces with her and, according to Australian TV show, TODAY, "tried every competition, you name it, we've done it" to win tickets. They couldn't get into a show, but even better -- the dad/daughter duo caught all five band-members leaving a photo shoot, NineMSN reports. "We got the best thing, a hug from Harry and autographs from all the boys," Dad said.

Lee was so happy for his daughter that he burst out into actual tears (his emotional moment captured on video above). After waiting for three hours, Lee said he was emotional "just to see her happy because she tried so hard." Catie, who also cried, told the reporter that she loves her dad so much. And, the reporter called Lee "the best dad in Australia."

NineMSN reports that the surprises didn't stop there. The TODAY show gave Catie and her dad tickets to One Direction's next concert, which led to a whole new waterworks display.

Jessie J. Slams Lesbian Rumors Made In New Biography

British pop star Jessie J is fighting back against accusations that she was forced to claim she is bisexual rather than a lesbian in an effort to maintain her recording contract.

In an excerpt from an unauthorized biography titled "Jessie J: Who's Laughing Now," author Chloe Govan claimed the singer, best known for her hits "Domino" and "Who You Are" as well as her judging stint on the British version of "The Voice," was ordered to withhold the fact that she was a lesbian by her label Universal Records.

Though Jessie J has publicly revealed she is bisexual, Govan claims the 24-year-old singer hasn't had a boyfriend since she was 17. "Jessie might have been with boys in the past — but she is 100 per cent gay," Govan wrote in an excerpt of the book, as published in The Sun. "Jessie was openly lesbian and didn’t hide it."

Interestingly, Govan notes that Jessie was advised to admit to her bisexuality because it was "trendy, exotic and a fashion statement." The author continued, "Being gay would alienate people. They knew how important image was and asked her to tone it down a bit. There are so many homophobes out there, they feared a career-damaging backlash.”

However, the star has since taken to Twitter to deny the accusations, noting, "I'm really a lesbian?! Ha! Thanks for writing yet another boring untrue story."

As the Daily Mail reported, Jessie revealed she was bisexual last year, and even admitted to fancying Rihanna. "I've never denied it," she sad at the time. "If I meet someone and I like them, I don’t care if they're a boy or a girl."

“She is in an impossible position," one A-list publicist tells me. "If she issues a statement, then it will be dissected and once again open old wounds. Yet, if she doesn’t, her silence will speak volumes. One thing is for sure, she is going to need to have a plan because she won’t be able to hide from the press forever. At her next red carpet event, you know someone is going to ask her about the upcoming marriage.”

When Pitt left Aniston for Jolie in 2005, it took some time for the jilted actress to comment publicly on the break-up -- she finally opened up to Vanity Fair's Leslie Bennetts, in what became then the biggest-selling cover story in the magazine's history. Insiders believe Jennifer will go a similar route when it comes to revealing her true feelings about the engagement.

“It must be exhausting for her -- she will never get away from the Brad-Angie-Jen triangle for the rest of her life,” a producer who has worked with Aniston tells me. “It’s hard enough that your husband leaves you for another woman, but to be reminded of it day after day and to be expected to answer questions about it is just not fair. Can you imagine the pressure she is going to be under the day of the wedding? Does she hide or be sure to be seen holding hands with her boyfriend and smiling?”

WATCH: Betty White Jokes About Two Failed Marriages

Betty White stopped by "Piers Morgan Tonight" on Wednesday and joked about striking out with marriage twice before finally finding happiness with husband #3, Allen Ludden.

"The first two were... rehearsals," the 90-year-old actress joked of her two short-lived marriages, which lasted less than three years combined. White would go on to enjoy "18 wonderful years" with Ludden, whom she was married to until his death in 1981.

The "Golden Girl" star also gave Morgan some perspective on why so many in her generation were quick to marry and went through multiple divorces.

"Back in those days... you didn't sleep with a guy until you married him."

When Piers suggested that "you didn't know how bad [a man] was in bed until you got married," White slyly replied, "You heard rumors."

The iconic comedienne has opened up about her marital record before. In May 2011, she told Newsweek that she felt like a “failure” after her two divorces, so much so that she turned down Ludden's marriage proposals for a year before finally agreeing to marry the "Password" host in 1963. "I kept saying no for a year," White recalled, "Finally, Easter came along. He sent me a white stuffed bunny with diamond earrings clipped to its ears and a card that said, 'Please Say Yes?' So when I answered the phone that night, I didn’t say hello, I just said, 'Yes.'"

'Whitney Houston Og' Weed Pulled From Pot Store Shelves

Remember Linsanity marijuana? Now there's a brand for Whitney Houston -- and one attorney says the sellers are guilty of bad taste and violating the dead singer's rights.

A Los Angeles medical dispensary called 45 Cap Elite Herbal Center was selling "Whitney Houston Og" weed for $180 a half-ounce, The Huffington Post discovered. The cannabis was spotted on an online menu.

A man who answered the phone Thursday at 45 Cap confirmed that the listing "is accurate" but later denied that the store was selling "Whitney Houston Og" when asked if Houston's estate was aware of it. He then referred questions to his boss, who was not available.

Within minutes -- on the eve of the counterculture holiday 4/20, aka National Pot Smokers Day -- "Whitney Houston Og," along with "Charlie Sheen Og," disappeared from the 45 Cap menu.

The singer drowned in a hotel bathtub Feb. 11, although the coroner concluded that heart disease and cocaine also contributed to her death. Houston's career was bedeviled by drugs, including marijuana, according to reports. She once described to Oprah Winfrey how she and then-husband Bobby Brown smoked marijuana laced with crack. In 2000, Houston was arrested for marijuana possession.

The LA pot shop also listed "Lil Kim Chi" on its pot menu. However, invoking the memory of Houston, a revered pop icon now tragically associated with drug abuse, could be seen as another matter entirely. Despite the fact that Houston is deceased, a prominent trademark attorney said the shop was probably violating the singer's right of publicity, which protects the commercial use of celebrities without their, or their estate's, consent.

Every state recognizes the right of publicity in some form. "By and large, there's plenty of laws to protect a celebrity's rights to their name, likeness, image, voice and signature," said Pamela Deese of Arent Fox in Washington, D.C.

Deese does not represent Houston's estate.

"This case would also fall into the category of really poor taste," Deese added.

But Deese and associates do represent the Knicks' Jeremy Lin. They recently sent cease-and-desist letters to several stores offering a pot strain called "Linsanity," the term coined to describe Lin's quick ascent to stardom. The stores complied.

While few would infer from such branding that a celebrity is actually endorsing marijuana, the use of the name can still generate sales from consumers who might buy a product on the basis of the name, Deese explained.

Justin Bieber gained a $100,000 Fisker Karma electric car for his 18th birthday and drives a $187,000 Ferrari on the side, but the "Boyfriend" singer shows that he can drive smart too --literally. The pop sensation was photographed whizzing around in his customized Smart "Swag" car Wednesday afternoon in Beverly Hills while wearing a presumably unironic "Never Sleep, Always Party" T-shirt.

Bieb's love for vehicles doesn't stop at Smart, though: The teenager made a pit stop at the Ducati store, his place of choice for motorcycles.

Miranda Kerr may have gotten her start as a model in Australia at age 13, but it's her job as a Victoria's Secret Angel that has brought her to international prominence. The supermodel, who is married to British actor Orlando Bloom, became the first Aussie Angel in 2007, when Gisele Bundchen left the company. And since then, the blue-eyed babe has kept busy.

In addition to her work with the lingerie giant, Kerr launched an organic skincare line, Kora Organics, in 2009, made her high-fashion debut when she was given an exclusive contract with Balenciaga for their Spring 2010 show and gave birth to her adorable son Flynn in 2011.

PHOTOS: Carmen Electra's Curve-Hugging Style

Carmen Electra has always craved the spotlight. The Ohio native studied dance from an early age and moved to California after finishing high school in search of her big break. And it wasn't long before she caught the eye of Prince, who changed her name from Tara Leigh Patrick, signed her to his Paisley Park Records and released her first self-titled album in 1993.

However, Electra's career went full throttle after posing nude for Playboy's May 1996 issue, landing the role of lifeguard Lani McKenzie on "Baywatch" in 1997 and hosting MTV's game show "Singled Out." The (sometimes) blonde babe continued to be featured in Playboy, and in 1998 she said "I do" to bad boy basketball player Dennis Rodman. Though that tumultuous union only lasted five months, Electra tried marriage again in 2003 with Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro -- barely making it to their four year anniversary -- and is now engaged to rocker Rob Patterson.

Since then, she has shifted her focus back to acting and appeared in films including "Starsky & Hutch," "Cheaper by the Dozen 2," "Scary Movie 4," "Meet the Spartans" and "Oy Vey! My Son Is Gay!!"

In celebration of Electra's 40th birthday on April 20th, we're taking a look back at the sex symbol's style over the years. Vote on all of her looks in the slideshow.
