Dustin Diamond, 'Screech' Actor, Convicted In Stabbing

PORT WASHINGTON, Wis. (AP) — TV actor Dustin Diamond was convicted Friday of two misdemeanors stemming from a barroom fight, but a Wisconsin jury cleared the former "Saved by the Bell" actor of the most serious felony charge.

The jury's verdict came just hours after the 38-year-old actor testified that he never intended to stab anyone in the fight last Christmas Day. He had pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of recklessly endangering public safety, plus two misdemeanors — carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct.

Diamond, who played the character Screech on the popular 1990s show, said some people had wanted to shake his hand and pose for photos at the bar, but that others were badgering him and his girlfriend, Amanda Schutz. He said he was trying to scare bar patrons in Port Washington after his girlfriend was punched in the face.

"I felt like we were being set up for antagonistic purposes," he said.

Witnesses testified that Schutz pushed one woman at the bar and grabbed another woman's hand, initiating the incident. Schutz also faces a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge.

Diamond said he tried to help Schutz and took out his pocketknife to deter the group from hurting her more.

The man who was stabbed, 25-year-old Casey Smet, testified Thursday that he didn't know he had been stabbed until he had left the bar and was talking to police.

After maintaining a serious facade during most of the trial, Diamond grinned Friday when a defense attorney asked if he liked being compared to the character Screech. Diamond said he, like his character, enjoyed nerdy things. And Diamond said he liked being identified in public as the goofy television character.

"That means they love you," Diamond said. "That means you're doing your job."

No apparent "Saved by the Bell" fans sat in the galleries during the three-day trial. But another apparent fan, Diamond's defense attorney Thomas Alberti, wrote "Good Luck to Dustin & Amanda" on his car window Wednesday ahead of the trial. Circuit Court Judge Paul Malloy scolded Alberti and told him to remove it because it was "inappropriate."

Port Washington is 25 miles north of Milwaukee.

Disney Has Reportedly Axed 'Tron 3'

Don't expect to return to the Grid any time soon. Disney is reportedly not moving forward with "Tron 3," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Earlier this year, it had seemed likely there would be a follow-up to 2010's "Tron: Legacy." Stars Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund were set to return with director Joseph Kosinski. Disney was also reportedly looking to add Jared Leto to the cast. In March, the third "Tron" film even received an unofficial title, "Tron: Ascension," and production was expected to begin as early as this fall. But according to THR, the studio apparently never greenlit "Tron 3."

Indiewire speculates that Disney's decision to axe the movie may be related to the disappointing debut of "Tomorrowland." The Brad Bird film, which had a reported budget of about $180 million, brought in a modest $42.7 million over Memorial Day weekend.

A rep for Disney was not immediately available for comment on "Tron 3."

Their amazing journey has finally come to an end, but that doesn't mean there isn't a rough road ahead.

After Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff "mutually and amicably" decided to end their engagement, which a rep confirmed to The Huffington Post, the "Bachelor" couple is now opening up about the split. Soules took to Twitter recently to thank fans for their support, revealing that the breakup has been "really tough":

Soules' former better half Bischoff has also taken to social media to thank everyone for their "outpouring love, kindness and support," posting a video of one adorable little supporter:

With the split, Soules and Bischoff join a long line of "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" couples that just didn't work out.

Even with the bad statistics, fans shouldn't totally give up on TV romances just yet. "Bachelor" couple Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici are now reportedly trying to have a baby, which is great news, because if beautiful people can't fall in love in front of millions in a short amount of time on a reality show, what hope is there for the rest of us?

Melissa McCarthy thought she had the only two hard copies of her first headshots, but, oh, was she wrong.

During Friday's episode of "The Graham Norton Show," the host dug up two of McCarthy's first headshots, which are almost too good to be true. The "Spy" star shared the story behind the photos, explaining that she'd posed as two of her comedy characters from the time. One was Carol, a woman who passed out cheese samples in a grocery store.

For the other pic, a 26-year-old McCarthy decided to wear a mini cowboy hat from a Western Barbie and turn the boots into earrings.

While on the topic of headshots, Chris Pratt, who was also visiting the show, retold the scary story of his own first headshot, an anecdote that involves Pratt living out of his car and getting naked in a stranger's apartment. Ah, showbiz.

No, Sony Isn't Removing Beyonce's Songs From Tidal

Don't worry, Tidal subscribers: Queen Bey isn't going anywhere.

On Thursday, a Bloomberg story critical of Jay Z's Tidal reported that all of Beyonce's discography might soon disappear from the audio streaming service. According to Bloomberg's report, Sony and Warner had been asking for large sums of money in exchange for Tidal's streaming rights to their artists' songs. While Warner has reportedly reached an agreement with Tidal, things didn't sound good for Bey or other Sony artists. One can only imagine the tension that might have caused in Beyonce and Jay Z's marriage.

However, Sony Music CEO Doug Morris confirmed to Rolling Stone on Saturday that nothing of the sort is happening just yet.

"All of our content, including Beyonce, is available through the Tidal service, and we have announced no plans to remove our catalog from Tidal," Morris told Rolling Stone. "Like all of our other partners, we are rooting for Jay and Tidal to succeed."

The removal of Beyonce's catalog from the streaming service, which she co-owns with her husband and a number of other artists, wouldn't have helped improve Tidal's image in the media. The lossless audio service has repeatedly been skewered by critics and artists alike, prompting Jay Z to defend Tidal on Twitter. The rapper also threw shots at competitor Spotify, as well as YouTube and Apple, in a freestyle during a special Tidal show in New York earlier this month.

If Morris is right, then maybe we can still look forward to that rumored joint Beyonce and Jay Z album that will allegedly debut exclusively on Tidal.

'Game Of Thrones' Season 5 Finale Title Hints At Appearance Of That One Big Character

"Game of Thrones" says, "All men must die," but they never said anything about staying dead.

The title of the Season 5 finale, "Mother's Mercy," is giving rise once again to speculation that Lady Stoneheart, aka the zombified version of Catelyn Stark, may be making an appearance, and this time it's a pretty strong case.

The main evidence is that one of Stoneheart's aliases is "Mother Mercy," according to the appendix of George R.R. Martin's novel A Feast for Crows. She is also referred to as "Mother Merciless" in the book.

Adding support, there's a Season 6 casting call for a character who sounds like Septon Meribald. It's on her journey with Meribald that Brienne actually meets Stoneheart in the books.

Now, "Mother's Mercy" seems like it'd be a pretty obvious giveaway, but just because there are hints, it definitely doesn't mean it's a sure thing. The showrunners and Catelyn Stark actress Michelle Fairley have repeatedly shot down rumors that the character will show up; past teases of an appearance have obviously not amounted to much; and, as the Westeros.org Twitter account notes, "Mother's Mercy" is different than the Stoneheart moniker "Mother Mercy":

Damn. Why'd they have to include that apostrophe? All apostrophes must die!

The synopsis from HBO also doesn't say anything about Stoneheart or her revenge:

Stannis marches. Dany is surrounded by strangers. Cersei (Lena Headey) seeks forgiveness. Jon is challenged.

Still, as Vanity Fair points out, the episode titles often cover a lot of storylines, and there may be a chance for Stoneheart to appear and dish out some of her special brand of "mercy" ...

Here's Why Ed Sheeran Won't Hook Up With Taylor Swift

Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift are BFFs and bedtime texters, and it's going to stay that way.

During an interview with Power 105.1's "The Breakfast Club" on Friday, a co-host asked Sheeran if he's ever tried to hook up with the "Style" singer.

"No," Sheeran said, after adorably explaining that he "gets on really well with her" in a professional sense. When asked whether or not Swift is Sheeran's type, he quickly said she was "too tall."

"I feel like we look like cast members of 'The Hobbit.' She's like, in the elven kingdom," the British singer-songwriter said. "She's hanging out with Galadriel and stuff, and I've got hairy feet." Sheeran then said he thinks it's healthy to have good friends who you don't hook up with.

We don't blame him. The two singers already know each other super well, and he even went to lunch with Swift and Calvin Harris on Thursday, so why mess that up?

Here's a message to all the celebs currently giving graduation speeches: he's gonna let you finish, but Kanye West just gave one of the best graduation speeches of all time. Well, he gave the most Kanye West graduation speech, anyway.

West made an appearance at the Los Angeles Trade-Technical College's Gold Thimble Fashion Show on Friday and reportedly addressed the graduating class, saying, "Usually, when you're the absolute best, you get hated on the most." Preach, Kanye!

After an issue with the paparazzi in 2013, West was sentenced to some community service and fulfilled his hours by teaching at the school in 2014. Though all his hours are up, he still decided to make the trip for the show, giving a speech and even smiling.

Yeah, we saw that, Mr. West.

6 Things You Never Knew Or Perhaps Forgot About Clint Eastwood In Honor Of His 85th Birthday

$

Clint Eastwood is an enduring cultural icon of masculinity -- even as he turns 85 on May 31. The gravelly voiced actor-director has left his mark on Hollywood, bringing home five Academy Awards, five Golden Globes, and numerous other honors. So on this, his 85th birthday, we'd like to go ahead and make his day. (Sorry, we couldn't resist.) Here are six things you never knew or perhaps have forgotten about Eastwood.

1. He doesn't just act and direct. He also composes film scores, plays the piano and SINGS.
The music for "Mystic River," "Million Dollar Baby," "Flags of Our Fathers," "Grace Is Gone," "Changeling," "J. Edgar," and the original piano compositions for "In the Line of Fire" were all him. He also wrote and performed the song heard while the credits rolled in "Gran Torino." He taught himself to play the piano and played well enough to perform at Carnegie Hall.

2. He talked to an empty chair at the Republican Convention in 2012.
As the mystery guest speaker, Eastwood delivered a 12-minute prime-time speech in which he spoke to an empty chair that was meant to represent President Barack Obama. Multiple news sources described the speech as "rambling," and Eastwood took a lot of ribbing afterward. The incident led to the "Eastwooding" Internet meme spreading via Twitter where people would pose next to empty chairs.

3. He was the mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Eastwood was elected mayor In 1986 and served one two-year term. He ran on a pro-business platform and one of his political victories was the repeal of a ban to sell and eat ice cream in public. Eastwood did not seek a second term, although clearly there was still more work to be done: While not enforced, the community still prohibits the wearing of high heels without a permit.

4. He turned down the role of James Bond.
He was offered the role of James Bond in 1983 when Sean Connery stepped down. Eastwood declined, saying that the role of James Bond should be portrayed only by a British actor. He also turned down playing Superman.

5. He has a soft spot for historic buildings.
Eastwood bought the Mission Ranch in Carmel in 1986, rescuing the property from an impending fate as a condominium development. He is said to have sought out the best craftsmen for renovation, craftsmen who have replicated moldings, door frames and hardware to match the style of the original buildings. The property is a popular hotel and restaurant today.

6. He didn't only say "Go ahead; make my day."

While that may be the most memorable line, there were plenty more -- especially as they relate to guns.

Other memorable Eastwood quotes:
“I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.”
“It's a hell of a thing; killin' a man. You take away everything he ever had and ever would have.”
“Nothing wrong with shooting ... as long as the right people get shot.”

At 85, he remains a man of many facets. Happy birthday, Clint. We hope you have a good one.

Kim Kardashian Reveals She's Pregnant With Second Child

Soon there will be one more Kardashian we'll need to keep up with.

Kim Kardashian is pregnant with her second child. The reality star announced the good news in a teaser at the end of the mid-season finale for "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" on Sunday night.

"I just got the blood test back, and I am pregnant!" Kim tells her sister Khloe in the clip.

Kardashian also confirmed the good news to Glamour in an interview, telling the magazine, “We are so beyond excited.”

Kardashian, 34, and Kanye West, 37, welcomed their first daughter, North West, in June 2013. Since tying the knot in Italy in May 2014, they've made it no secret of their plans to expand the family.

"I'm hoping so. You know I kind of wish I was pregnant at the same time Kourtney is. She's like more than half way in, so you know, we're trying," Kardashian told "Entertainment Tonight" in August, when asked if she sees another baby in the near future. "It would be fun. There's a lot of craziness in the house, so why not add pregnancy hormones to the craziness? It would be like a partner in crime. Someone to know those cravings that you're really going through."

A month later, Kardashian again spoke of her desire to get pregnant, telling Australia's "Today" show, "We’re trying. I guess, it’s all in God’s hands."

Getting pregnant the second time around was no easy task for the couple.

"I've been having sex 500 times a day," Kardashian told Khloe on a preview for the reality show's tenth season. "I was like, 'I'm ovulating today!' So I made [Kanye] come to my photo shoot. You know what, I don't feel bad about that for one second. You gotta get it in where you can get it in."

Kongratulations to Kim and Kanye!
