'Game Of Thrones' Star Emilia Clarke Turned Down 'Fifty Shades Of Grey'

The Khaleesi almost got super kinky.

"Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke, best known as Daenerys Targaryen, aka Mother of Dragons, aka Breaker of Chains, was offered the role of Anastasia Steele in "Fifty Shades of Grey." According to the latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter, the actress turned down the part Dakota Johnson ended up taking because of the nudity required.

"I'd done nudity before and was concerned with being labeled for doing it again," Clarke told THR.

The Queen of Meereen has had a handful of nude scenes in "Game of Thrones," from her moments with Khal Drogo to her first meeting with Daario N'haris. Clarke also had a nude scene on Broadway during her New York stage debut in 2013 with "Breakfast at Tiffany's." But still, the actress said she has "no regrets" about turning down the role.

Clarke, who stars in the upcoming "Terminator Genysis," also reflected on her "GoT" audition in the interview, revealing that she listened to Tupac to amp herself up beforehand.

Check out Clarke's cover and the full interview over at The Hollywood Reporter.

"Game of Thrones" returns on Sunday, April 12, at 9:00 p.m. ET on HBO.

Congrats, gentlemen!

Chelsea Clinton Reveals How Involved Bill And Hillary Are As Grandparents

New mom Chelsea Clinton says her parents, Bill and Hillary Clinton, are totally involved in their granddaughter's life, all the way down to changing diapers.

Clinton, who gave birth to baby Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky in September, talked to Jimmy Kimmel this week about how her very political parents are embracing their new roles as grandma and grandpa Clinton.

"They're changing diapers, reading to her, helping her go to sleep at night," Chelsea Clinton said. "It's just been such a joy for me to watch them sort of rediscover that part of their lives and to watch them as grandparents."

Baby Charlotte is the Clintons' first grandchild and they're clearly doting on her, with Grandpa Bill gushing earlier this year that his granddaughter is "the greatest thing since sliced bread."

Chelsea also joked that her parents are slightly in awe of all the new technology parents have to look after their infants, like wireless baby monitors. And of course, just like any grandparent, they think the little girl is a "genius."

Cate Blanchett Cuts Awkward 'Cinderella' Interview Short

0

Cate Blanchett was happy to sit down and talk to television host Jonathan Hyla about her new film, "Cinderella," on Wednesday. The problem? Her interviewer didn't seem to want to talk about anything relevant to the movie.

After asking Blanchett about her drink of choice along with other off-topic questions, the actress attempted to steer the interview back to "Cinderella."

"Let's start over," she suggested and offered to shake Hyla's hand.

But Hyla didn't take the opportunity to change his tone.

"Serious question: how were you able to get that cat to do what you wanted to on a leash? I try to put my girlfriend's cat on a leash, and it just never works for me," he said, referring to a scene in the film where Blanchett walks with a leashed cat.

"That's your question? That's your fucking question?" Blanchett responded in disbelief before ending the interview.

Hyla posted a mashup video of the cringeworthy chat to his Instagram account on Wednesday, writing, "Thanks to my new favorite person Cate Blanchett for what might have been the best worst interview I've ever done. #WhyDoTheyLetMeInterviewOscarWinners #Vodka #Sex #HighFive #Cinderella @TheProjectTV."

This isn't the first time Blanchett has fired back at an interview question she didn't like. Back at the Golden Globes in January, the 45-year-old called out the sexism at work when an E! News camera did a full body scan of Blanchett in her gown. "Do you do that to guys?" she asked, pointing at the camera.

Jimmy Kimmel, Chelsea Clinton Star In Hilarious PSA Encouraging Young People To Serve

Jimmy Kimmel doesn't quite understand Chelsea Clinton's new project, but he's helping get the word out, nonetheless.

He sat down with the former first daughter on his late night talk show to help launch Serve a Year -- an initiative that encourages young people to dedicate one year to service, benefiting a variety of causes in the process.

Kimmel played along in a promotional video that aired on Monday night as the initiative's out-of-sync co-promoter.

"Remember, there's no 'I' in 'service,'" he quipped to viewers.

Serve A Year -- launched as a partnership between advocacy group ServiceNation, the Clinton Foundation and several service organizations and entertainment brands -- aims to inspire millions of Americans to dedicate time helping education-focused causes, like boosting literacy and increasing graduation rates, according to its website.

Dedicating time to service isn't completely selfless, as Clinton pointed out, as the experience will "provide a real pathway for employment for young people."

"The real idea behind Serve a Year is that -- just like we all talk about where we went to high school or where we went to college -- young people in America could talk about where they did their service," Clinton explained to Kimmel.

The campaign will focus on promoting service to millennials in a variety of ways. It will, for instance, work with entertainment partners to incorporate service into television story lines. ServiceNation, which has spent the last year "laying the foundation" for Serve A Year's launch on Monday, touts a recent episode of of ABC's "Melissa & Joey" that featured a character joining AmeriCorps. The initiative will also create PSAs promoting its mission to be shared online, as well as work with celebrities on social media to encourage young people to serve.

According to Zach Maurin, executive director of ServiceNation, there's much room for improvement when it comes to young people participating in service-oriented causes. It's not because they don't want to, Maurin explained to BuzzFeed in 2013, but rather because they aren't aware of the opportunities at hand.

“Last year there was a record number of applications: 582,000 for 80,000 positions,” he said. “Everyone was excited because that’s a record, but it’s actually a really, really small percentage of millennials. So while that’s exciting, and it’s a great story to tell Congress, it’s actually a really small number -- especially given unemployment among young people. So we think that’s a great indicator the awareness is not there.”

Elizabeth Banks And Jimmy Fallon Have Adorable Conversation About FaceTiming With Their Kids

Actress Elizabeth Banks shared some of her parenting secrets last night on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

Banks and her husband Max Handelman have two sons, 4-year-old Felix and 2-year-old Magnus, and during her conversation with Fallon, she told the host, "I'm hoping someday they're gonna get married to your girls." After the wild applause died down, Banks talked about raising the two little boys, particularly while she's away from home for work.

Marveling at the usefulness of FaceTime, the actress said, "The fact that FaceTime exists is amazing. I don't need to even go home. I can just parent from here." Fallon added, "I do it sometimes from home! I'm just in another room going, 'Daddy misses you!'"

During a recent FaceTime session, Banks says the first thing she heard from her boys was, "Mommy we're naked!" Indeed, the actress confirmed, they were not only naked, but "in our car, in our car seats, eating cheddar bunnies, and we all know where those crumbs go."

When it comes to messy moments like these, Banks said she has a simple solution. "I just hose them off."

Simple, yet effective.

Josh Groban Talks Gay Bear Fans And Rumors About His Sexuality

Along with a special hat tip to his gay fanbase, Josh Groban addressed longstanding speculation over his sexuality in a new PrideSource interview.

"Honestly, if I were gay, I would have had no problem saying it from day one," the 34-year-old singer told PrideSource's Chris Azzopardi. "I would have nothing to hide if that were the case. People have speculated, have wanted to speculate -- whatever, fine. I'm not gay, but if I were, I don't review it as a bad thing."

Groban, who is dating "Two Broke Girls" star Kat Dennings, nonetheless recalled the time he first became aware of his many fans in a very specific subset of the queer community.

"I was at some kind of shop, and I was walking around with someone -- it was probably my girlfriend," he said. "And this guy comes up to me and goes, 'Hey, I just want you to know, the bears love you.' I'm like, 'Excuse me? What?' And I didn't know what that meant! I'm like, 'Are you a baseball team?'"

Praising the arts as "a community where I felt there was acceptance and friendship regardless of our own personal lives," Groban nonetheless went on to express his longstanding admiration for RuPaul. (Jennings appeared on "RuPaul's Drag Race" as a guest judge)

"I mean, RuPaul [is] incredible," he said. "The influence she's had on everybody is just amazing, and then you see the competition."

Groban has previously denied rumors about his sexuality on Twitter in a tongue-in-cheek way:

USC To Investigate Taraji P. Henson's Claims Of Her Son Being Racially Profiled On Campus

Taraji P. Henson’s decision to enroll her son at Howard University as a result of the 20-year-old’s experience with racial profiling by police at the University of Southern California has prompted a series of reactions.

Henson previously told Uptown magazine that she would rather transfer her son to a Historically Black College or University to lessen his chances of being racially profiled. Her comments have attracted the attention of numerous fans, media outlets and has even prompted the National Action Network to call for an investigation into the USC's police department.

In addition to the many responses, one official at the University of Southern California addressed Henson's claims and expressed interest in looking further into the issue in hopes of finding a resolution.

USC’s Department of Public Safety John Thomas, who has spent 21 years as a member of the Los Angeles Police Department prior to joining the staff at USC, made the following statement:

I was deeply disturbed to read news reports about a prospective student who felt profiled on or near campus because of his race. We encourage reporting of allegations of bias and I hope for the opportunity to have a conversation with the young man and his mother.

I would like to look into this matter further and better understand who was involved and what took place. As someone who personally experienced racial profiling as a teenager, I have a stake in learning more about this incident and doing all I can to reach a just resolution.

It is not clear to me which police departments were involved. Any allegation of bias or unequal treatment by university officers would trigger an investigation that I would supervise along with the university’s Office of Equity and Diversity. It is my expectation and that of the university that our department uphold the highest standards of constitutional policing, affording equal rights and respect to all persons.

As for Henson’s thoughts on critics questioning her decision to send her son to Howard University, she took to her personal Twitter account on Monday evening and wrote the following;

Howard University declined a request by the Huffington Post to respond to Henson’s comments.

Jaime King's Style Is Even Better Than Her Friendship With Taylor Swift

We admit it. We're completely envious of model-turned-actress Jaime King for a slew of reasons, not least of which are her beauty and her stance on body acceptance. It also helps that the "Hart Of Dixie" star is besties with Taylor Swift. Oh and her wardrobe is ridiculously swoon-worthy.

Rihanna Is Releasing Some New Music On Thursday

Rihanna dropped "FourFiveSeconds" with no notice, but apparently felt like giving her next work a little bit of advanced promotion. On Wednesday, Rihanna posted a cryptic photo to Instagram promising something for Thursday, March 26. The photo directed fans to Rihanna's website, RihannaNOW.com, and included the hashtags #R8, #BBHMM and #March26. For what it's worth, #BBHMM stands for "Bitch Better Have My Money," which was also the title of a 1991 song and album by AMG. (As Complex notes, the braille on the photo below allegedly spells out "Bitch Better Have My Money" as well.) But don't expect that to be the album title just yet: the photo's URL on Rihanna's site states that the image is approved single art. We'll see!

There's Evidence Daryl Dixon Will Die In The 'Walking Dead' Season Finale

This piece contains potential spoilers for the season finale of "The Walking Dead."

"If Daryl dies, we riot" is a popular mantra among "Walking Dead" fans, and it looks like the time for outrage is finally here. The Season 5 finale of "The Walking Dead" is coming up this Sunday, and there's major evidence that Dixon's time is up.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and real estate site Curbed Atlanta, Norman Reedus, the actor who plays Dixon, is selling his Georgia home in Serenbe, which is a village in metro Atlanta. Additionally, Reedus is scheduled to appear on "Talking Dead" following Sunday's season finale. As fans know, a "Talking Dead" appearance can be seen as a death sentence for characters since the show often features those who've died. Furthermore, Dixon has warned fans multiple times to have their tissues ready.

image: Giphy

Now, before you freak out, just remember nothing is confirmed. The AJC reports Reedus may be simply finding more secluded digs to perhaps get away from fans. Plus, other guests scheduled for "Talking Dead" this week include Melissa McBride, showrunner Scott Gimple and a mystery cast member. That mystery person could easily be a character who dies, since announcing Reedus' appearance seems like a major spoiler. Plus, there have been rumors for a while that a different major character is going to die.

Still, there are recent reports that Reedus is taking on more projects, making it seem like he suddenly has more time on his hands. Just keep that riot gear ready.

"Walking Dead" Season 5 finale airs this Sunday on AMC.

The Most Iconic Faces To Inspire Men's Grooming Over The Past 30 Years

This article was written by Emma McKay and was originally published on AskMen.

On a crisp late January evening in Paris, in a sprawling bar, Le Perchoir, spanning several stories high above the streets of the 11th arrondissement, pro kiteboarder Youri Zoon ambles in for his interview. As we talk, the bar fills up with a who's who of Parisian cool, posing for photos and sipping bespoke cocktails: fashion industry savants, women in faux fur and big felt hats, avant-garde musicians. We're here to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Biotherm Homme, a high-end French skincare brand (disclosure: I was there as a guest of Biotherm Homme).

Youri's passionate about his sport, and his enthusiasm shines through in his lack of canned responses. We talk about kiteboarding more than we do moisturizer. As the face of Biotherm Homme's Total Recharge line and the subject of the brand's new 360-degree Oculus Rift video (shot using six GoPros strapped to his head), Zoon's life exposes him to all the punishment that wind, salt and sun can bring. Between his extreme activities and frequent air travel, Zoon's skin is no stranger to fatigue and dehydration -- this guy legitimately needs cold weather skin care.

Biotherm Homme's choice of Zoon over a more recognizable celeb or model got me thinking about the kinds of men who've appeared in grooming campaigns over the years. How do brand ambassadors reflect men's evolving attitudes toward grooming? I decided to take a closer look at some of the most iconic faces from the past 30 years of marketing grooming products to men. I've included men's underwear ads in this roundup because, as intimate and personal products that haven't always been marketed directly to men, they follow a similar trajectory to grooming ads, addressing men's appearance-related aspirations through a focus on the male physique of the moment.

Putting Men In The Picture

In 1985, when Biotherm Homme's first product, an anti-wrinkle cream for men, launched, only about a quarter of all men's products were actually purchased by men, so marketing campaigns for men's grooming products inevitably targeted women.

Women were still the focus in 1990, when Chanel launched a campaign for its new men's cologne, Egoiste, in which the male subject never actually shows his face. The ads represented a shift for the brand. Arie Kopelman, then-president and chief operating officer of Chanel, spoke to the New York Times in 1991 about the campaign, explaining that, "The focus has always been on the women's products. Until now, we've never put any marketing power behind the men's fragrances."

Mark Wahlberg for Calvin Klein, 1992

2015-03-27-1427487474-8797763-markwahlberg.jpg

In 1992, long before Bieber ever slunk around in CK boxers, Calvin Klein introduced Mark "Marky Mark" Wahlberg into its campaigns, and the rapper/actor's abs as captured by the late legend Herb Ritts helped sexualize -- and popularize -- something as previously mundane as men's underwear. Then-Calvin Klein Senior VP Neil Kraft, who was behind the Wahlberg campaign, recently explained to AdAge: "[Wahlberg] appealed to women, he appealed to gay men and he appealed to men who wanted to be him." The campaign had a massive impact on the men's underwear industry, boosting sales "exponentially."

Tyson Beckford for Polo, 1993

2015-03-27-1427487499-8264717-TysonBeckford.jpg

With their Tyson Beckford campaigns, the all-American Polo Ralph Lauren brand introduced a face and a muscular, sculpted physique who could play Marky Mark's game while giving the alpha male a distinctive new look. Beckford helped define the '90s, to the point that in 2014 he was named by Vogue as the No. 1 male model of all time.

Larry Scott for Acqua di Gio, 1997-2007

2015-03-27-1427487579-4356191-LarryScott.jpg

Larry Scott was the face of Armani's Acqua di Gio for a decade. He pioneered the now-iconic "wet guy" look, and it's been a go-to for marketing men's fragrances ever since. We don't really know if he's been rolling around on a beach, if he just surfaced from a deep dive or if he just stepped out of the shower, and it doesn't really matter -- we see the wet guy up close, with beads of water trickling down his face. He must smell good.

David Beckham for Armani, 2008

2015-03-27-1427487546-9758015-DavidBeckham.jpg

David Beckham was the face of Armani, and just about everything else, in the late 2000s. "The biggest metrosexual in Britain," according to the man who coined the term, was also husband to a woman successful in her own right, a tattooed father and a legendary retired soccer player. Appearing in ads for Pepsi, Samsung, Adidas and Burger King, H&M and more, he represented the male ideal on an international scale: accomplished and attractive, with rebellious sex appeal. His signature scent, Intimately Beckham for Him, which launched in 2006, was one of the first male celebrity scents on the market.

Clive Owen for Bvlgari Man, 2010

2015-03-27-1427487608-5394885-CliveOwen.jpg

With its campaigns featuring Clive Owen, who had appeared in ads for Lancôme's Hypnose Homme just three years earlier, Bvlgari Man also drew upon the actor's power as a credible influencer. His poses in these ads are relaxed; they present him as a multidimensional, interesting guy, somebody you could see yourself having a drink with.

Isaiah Mustafa for Old Spice, 2010

2015-03-27-1427487632-1902003-IsaiahMustafa.jpg

Isaiah Mustafa's Old Spice ads helped usher in the viral internet era with a memorably big splash of aftershave. The zany ads got people talking, and that meant they were talking about Old Spice -- a brand many guys previously identified with their grandfathers -- again. Brut retaliated that same year with its "Slap a man in a towel" "Brut slap" online campaign, in which a man somewhat resembling Mustafa, wearing a towel, could be slapped via a click of a mouse.

Michael Phelps for Head and Shoulders, 2012

2015-03-27-1427487656-3216691-MichaelPhelps.jpg

In recent years, companies began to select athletes over models and celebrities to promote men's grooming products, and these athletes don't all resemble David Beckham. As men who actually sweat, smell and expose themselves to the elements on a regular basis, athletes provided a more authentic opportunity to connect with men around the topic of male grooming needs.

At the Biotherm Homme party in Paris, Bixente Lizerazu, a current face of Biotherm Homme and a retired champion soccer star, explained to me how he witnessed grooming catch on in locker rooms: "It happened gradually, little by little, first of all in the changing rooms after training sessions, suddenly you noticed guys using creams. At first it was a little bit funny, or awkward, but it changed." Brands seized on the opportunity to connect high-performance athletes with their products, especially when the opportunity was the 2012 Olympic Games, an event that had the entire world's attention.

Ryan Lochte for Gillette, 2012

2015-03-27-1427487676-3922874-RyanLochte.jpg

Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte were just two of 150 top athletes sponsored by P&G, the parent company of brands like Gillette and Head & Shoulders, at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Like the Old Spice example, this Gillette campaign is the unmistakeable product of a viral internet era, hashtags and all.

Dwyane Wade for Dove Men+Care, 2013

2015-03-27-1427487700-789679-DwyaneWade.jpg

In 2013, as consumers tired of the "doofus dad" archetype they'd been served for years, brands took realness and relatability to a whole new level. Dove Men+Care worked with NBA star Dwyane Wade and ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas for 2013's "Real Moments" campaign, presenting an image of hands-on fatherhood that speaks to modern guys. Dwyane Wade appears at home, with his kids, a natural setting in which he's not being presented as a useless dad or an unattainable hero, taking the locker-room endorsement to a place that really hits home.

Juan Betancourt for Tom Ford, 2013

2015-03-27-1427487724-6216678-JuanBetancourt.jpg

The interesting thing about model Juan Betancourt in this 2013 Tom Ford ad is that he has a facial hair. In 2013, we were deep in a "peak beard" moment (and it isn't over yet). The interesting thing about this ad campaign is that, although this particular image recalls the "wet man" look we're so used to seeing in men's grooming ads, other images in the campaign show Betancourt actively grooming himself -- wearing a clay mask in one image, applying an under-eye cream in another. "For the first time ever," Josh Meyer, CEO of Brickell Men's Products, points out, "starting in 2013, men spent more on skincare products than they did on shaving products." No question about it: men's grooming has gone mainstream.

Jonas Kessler for John Varvatos, 2014

2015-03-27-1427487747-3732935-JonasKessler.jpg

In this ad, part of his 2014 campaign for John Varvatos, the bearded Jonas Kessler may be shirtless, but his frame is not nearly as "ripped" as a Wahlberg, Beckford or Beckham. The diversification of the kinds of images used to sell men's grooming products reflects the diversification of the market in general. Explains Meyer, "The larger an industry, the more fragmented and specific it gets."

Whereas just a few years earlier, men might have been self-conscious to admit any involvement with grooming products, at this point, men are legitimately interested in the benefits of looking their best. They want to look "well-groomed, tan, [with] less wrinkles, fuller hair, [have] no [or] less acne, smooth silky skin and anti-aging options," according to Larry H. Oskin, president and founder of Marketing Solutions, a marketing agency specialized in the beauty industry. As Meyer points out, "younger men (ages 25-40)... grew up using hair gel and other 'metro' hair products for men, so using skincare is a natural evolution."

Check out the original AskMen article to find out which how men's grooming is being represented in ads in 2015.

The First Trailer For James Bond's 'Spectre' Is Here

"Welcome, James. It's been a long time." That's Christoph Waltz as the dastardly Oberhauser (Blofeld?) in the first trailer for "Spectre." Sony released the James Bond film's debut teaser on Friday night, and while the plot remains a mystery, it looks to connect with earlier 007 adventures. (Eagle-eyed fans will note the inclusion of Mr. White, the bad guy who pulled some strings in "Casino Royale" and, after being captured, escaped in "Quantum of Solace.") According to the official "Spectre" plot synopsis, "a cryptic message from Bond's past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization." Elsewhere, "M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive," while "Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE." Sounds good to us.

Sam Mendes returns after the success of "Skyfall" to direct "Spectre." Daniel Craig once again plays Bond. Waltz, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Dave Bautista, Lea Seydoux and Monica Bellucci all star. "Spectre" opens Nov. 6.

Two Of Madonna's Dancers Re-Create 'Vogue' In Honor Of Iconic Song's 25th Anniversary

It's hard to believe it, but Madonna's seminal smash, "Vogue," was released 25 years ago this month.

Jose Xtravaganza and Salim "Slam" Gauwloos, two dancers who appeared in the iconic "Vogue" video and subsequently toured with Madonna, reunited in Los Angeles to re-create the famed choreography in this short video honoring the anniversary -- and the results are pretty amazing.

Jose Xtravaganza and fellow dancer Luis Camacho Xtravaganza are often credited with introducing Madonna to the Harlem House Ball community which, in turn, inspired her to write the song and feature the dance style in her music videos and tours.
