Season 5 of "Game of Thrones" premiered for some lucky people in London on Wednesday, and suddenly the entire realm seemed to go mad. The reviews have been great, but that's not the issue: the evening had Starks fraternizing with Lannisters, the new characters acting cool with everyone and, wait ... is that King Robert? Didn't he die in Season 1?

Like we said, it was madness. Yeah, "Game of Thrones" is a fantasy, but here are some photos that would never happen in Westeros:

(Warning: Season 4 spoilers)

"Game of Thrones" Season 5 premieres Sunday, April 12, on HBO.

Last month, the 44-year-old actress shut down plastic surgery rumors after her red carpet makeup look set the Internet abuzz:

"I've been doing this for years and years and years -- people say things nice and they say things mean and it's like, 'Whatever.' You take the good with the bad," she told the "Today Show."

Royal Baby Name Revealed... If These Racing Corgis Have Any Say In The Matter

$

All barks are off -- the royal family's newest member will be a girl named Alexandra.

At least that's the oh-so-official prediction made by a bunch of racing corgis. Betting site Ladbrokes introduced the world's first "Barkingham Palace Gold Cup" in London, pitting 10 adorable corgis against one another in a dog-eat-dog contest to determine the name and sex of the new baby.

Alexandra took first place on the winner's podium, fighting tooth-and-tail for the ultimate honor. She beat out Camilla and Victoria with a blindingly swift and adorable time of 4.32 seconds.

"Alexandra romped to victory and it looks like Kate will soon be giving birth to a little girl next month," Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes told The Mirror. "Royal baby betting is booming and the arrival of a new heir to the throne is sure to see a record amount of wagers placed."

The outcome may shock the actual betting market. "Elizabeth" is a strong favorite for a girl at 5/1 odds, and bettors predict that another royal boy would be named "James" at 8/1. The Duchess of Cambridge hasn't revealed much about the child-to-be, though some outlets are reporting that her due date is in April.

Elizabeth the corgi didn't even make the podium, nor did any of the boys. Here are the full results of the race, followed by those names' current odds at Ladbrokes.com:

GIRL

  1. Alexandra (8/1)

  2. Camilla (100/1)

  3. Victoria (10/1)

  4. Philippa (33/1)

  5. Elizabeth (5/1)

BOY

  1. Spencer (25/1)

  2. James (8/1)

  3. Boris (200/1)

  4. Henry (16/1)

  5. Albert (20/1)

And of course, the real reason you clicked on this article, cuddly photos of corgis racing:

John Green Explains The Meaning Behind Real-Life Paper Towns

$

“Paper Towns” by John Green is a novel about a high schooler following clues to track down the girl he’s in love with. The story is fictitious -- and so are actual paper towns.

Before traveling to New York to premiere the “Paper Towns” trailer, Green filmed a video for his Vlogbrothers channel explaining the meaning behind paper towns.

According to the author, mapmakers make fictional entries in their maps as a way to tell if others are copying them. These entries can be towns, but they typically exist on a smaller scale.

“It’s usually not paper towns,” Green said in the video. “It’s usually, like, paper streets or paper bridges.”

Mapmakers aren’t the only ones who use this copyright trick. Green mentioned fake entries in encyclopedias and dictionaries, including a word made up by the New Oxford American Dictionary that other dictionaries started including as a real word.

This example of something fictional turning into something more reflects what Green hopes to achieve as an author.

“Obviously this is an appealing idea for a writer because I need to believe that made-up stories can really matter in the lives of real people,” he said.

With Green’s success, that’s not hard to believe at all.

Miley Cyrus Writes Heartfelt Letter To NY Governor Seeking Funds For Homeless Youth

Miley Cyrus is continuing to use her star power to advocate on behalf of young people in need.

The 22-year-old singer wrote a letter to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, state Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos and state Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie earlier this month urging that they increase funding to help homeless kids, New York Daily News reported. Cyrus posted the letter to her Instagram account on Wednesday, saying she was "speaking up" for those without a roof over their head.

In the letter, Cyrus endorses a proposal by New York state Senator Brad Hoylman (D-Manhattan), political advocacy group Empire State Pride Agenda and nonprofit Coalition for Homeless Youth that would ensure $4.75 million for homeless children in New York's state budget. Hoylman voiced his thanks for Cyrus' support on Twitter.

"These young people are homeless through no fault of their own," Cyrus wrote to the state officials. "They've been kicked out of their homes or are fleeing abusive parents. And too often they're forced into dangerous situations just to find a place to sleep."

Speaking up so homeless youth in NY can have a place to sleep!!! #makingchange #HappyHippies @happyhippiefdn

A photo posted by Miley Cyrus (@mileycyrus) on

Cyrus points out that although youth homelessness is a problem throughout the U.S., it's "especially serious in New York." According to Empire State Pride Agenda, data from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services shows that kids were turned away from homeless shelters because there were no beds more than 5,000 times in 2012 -- a fact the pop star highlights in her letter to Cuomo.

The organization also points out that funding for homeless youth shelters across the state has decreased by about two-thirds since 2009.

Cyrus -- who launched her own nonprofit, The Happy Hippie Foundation, to advocate for homeless youths last year, according to MTV -- has championed the issue in recent months. At last year's MTV Video Music Awards, she took a young man who'd been homeless, Jesse Helt, as her guest. When Cyrus won a Moonman for Video of the Year, Helt accepted the award on her behalf and dedicated his speech to raising awareness on the issue.

The duo created a fundraising campaign for My Friend’s Place, a Los Angeles organization that helps homeless young people, and garnered about $200,000 in roughly one day.

Bob Saget Remembers His Lame 'Full House' Catchphrase You Probably Never Knew Existed

$

"What's goin' on?"

Fans of "Full House" probably don't remember how often Danny Tanner said that while entering a room, but it was the closest thing to a catchphrase that Bob Saget had on the show. That's just one of the things HuffPost Comedy learned when we bumped into him at the Above Average Talent Show benefiting The Ally Coalition at Austin, Texas' South By Southwest Festival on Monday.

In addition to performing along with "Saturday Night Live" stars Vanessa Bayer and Jay Pharoah and comedian Eliot Glazer, Saget spoke to us about the upcoming Justin Bieber roast, "SNL," "Full House" and "America's Funniest Home Videos" while answering questions from our friends on Twitter.

It's great to run into you since they just shot the Justin Bieber Roast. You had one of the best ones back in 2008.

Oh, they beat me up good.

I heard that Bieber had a pretty decent rebuttal. In your experience, what makes a perfect response to all those digs?
Well, let's see. You kind of have to out-roast them, which is impossible. My roast started with the late, great Greg Giraldo, who was very, very great at it. And he was the first person up, so I literally didn't know what was happening when he started barreling at me. The producer/director, Joel Gallen -- who does them all -- said to me over the audience, "From now on, look like you're having fun." My mouth was open.

So no one reveals any of the jokes to you ahead of time?
Nobody does anything. Jeff Ross is a close friend of mine and one day [before the roast] he just goes to me, "Ugh, buddy."

[Jay Pharoah interrupts us by yelling, "Saget!" and they meet for the first time.]

Well, that was cool. Have you been watching "SNL" this season?
I will always love "SNL," through every incarnation. Of course, everyone's an armchair critic, but it's the only forum that exists that's like it. Lorne [Michaels] is just amazing, and it works, even when it doesn't feel like it's working, that's how it works, because then it rises again.

Right before I got here I did a callout on Twitter for questions. Can I read you some of those?

Sure.

One person asked, "Do you ever wish 'Full House' was still running and you were prepping for Season 28?"
No, I'm very happy to be in the present. And when I watch it now, just by flipping through the channels, I could never do it that way because I was a different human being then. I actually have, through a lot of self-work, more levels than a dimensional character in a show like that.

Of course. Now the second person asked, "If you could reboot 'Full House' as a horror TV show, what would you do to make it scary?"
I'd make the hair bigger. That's all you can do. But that was it back in the day, isn't that crazy? John Stamos raised the bar -- to be able to sport a mullet and pull it off -- it's a beautiful thing.

Third, "Do you regret that Danny Tanner didn't have a catchphrase?"
I did. I always walked in the room and said "What's goin' on?" Always. It's not a catchphrase, but I said it was because when you're a character on a show and you're the protagonist, not the comedy foil, because I was kind of the straight guy on the show, I would always walk into a room where everything was going crazy and I would say, 'What's goin' on?" like, "What's up?" It was really quite lame. I didn't have a catchphrase, but I had that.

Lastly, what do you feel is the legacy of "America's Funniest Home Videos" with respect to today's stupid cat videos?
I mean, it was the beginning of YouTube. It certainly was. And it was bizarre, because I didn't even know what was going on when I did it. I was on "Full House" and they offered me the pilot. I did the pilot and then it beat a re-run of "60 Minutes" and they picked up 13 [episodes]. We got like, a 35 share, something crazy like that, because there was no cable. I hate saying that because it sounds like so long ago. I had a cell phone with a cord in the car and the producer called me and said, "We're number one." On my cell phone, attached to my car.

Was that a relatively easy gig compared to being the star of a sitcom?
No, it was very hard in the beginning. It would take like eight hours to shoot one episode because each episode was an hour long at first. They would run hundreds of videos in a show and then pare them down. I also used to have stars on the show, like Rodney Dangerfield, Jonathan Winters, Leslie Nielsen and the whole cast of "Full House" ... It was like a variety show when it started. That's how we did [it], and now it's still on. It will never go away. It's a very beloved show and it's a guaranteed laugh."

'Harry Potter' Remixed Like 'Friends' Is The TV Show We Didn't Know We Needed

YouTube user Jeremiah Rivera, describing himself as "just a person who got bored," posted a mashup this week of two pop culture sensations -- "Harry Potter" remixed as the "Friends" title sequence. And we never realized how much they have in common.

To the tune of The Remembrandts' unforgettable ode to first-world problems, a montage of our favorite characters reminds us of the suspenseful moments and heartwarming performances we can expect ahead. We can picture ourselves binge-watching this on whatever streaming service realized "Harry Potter Friends" is what the world needed.

"With its outstanding writing and signature characters," the iTunes description would read, "the Friends Harry Potter phenomenon defined 'Must See TV' 'young adult fiction' and remained remains a staple of primetime throughout its 10-season run popular culture forever."

"Friends" and "Harry Potter": They're basically the same thing.

Monica Lewinksy Took Back Her Narrative In A Powerful TED Talk

“At the age of 22, I fell in love with my boss. At the age of 24, I learned the devastating consequences."

That's how Monica Lewinsky began her much-anticipated TED Talk on March 19, according to TED Blog.

“Like me, at 22, a few of you may also have taken wrong turns by falling in love with the wrong person. Maybe even your boss," she continued, according to The New York Times. "Unlike me, though, your boss probably wasn’t the President of the United States of America.”

Since becoming a household name in 1998 for having an affair with former president Bill Clinton, Lewinsky has kept a relatively low profile for the past decade. Yesterday, Lewinsky delivered a talk at TED2015 in Vancouver titled "The Price Of Shame."

Now 41, Lewinsky described the impact the Internet had on her story. “This scandal was brought to you by the digital revolution,” she said. “It was the first time traditional news was usurped by the Internet, a click that reverberated around the whole world... Overnight, I went from being a completely private figure to a publicly humiliated one worldwide."

Watch a short clip of Lewinsky's TED talk below:

“I was Patient Zero of losing a personal reputation on a global scale almost instantaneously," she continued. “I was branded as a tramp, tart, slut, whore, bimbo and, of course, ‘that woman.’ I was known by many, but actually known by few. I get it. It was easy to forget ‘that woman’ was dimensional and had a soul.”

As the subject of one of the first major "scandals" to play out over the Internet, Lewinsky discussed the powerful effects of online harassment. “When this happened to me, 17 years ago, there was no name for it," she told the crowd. "Now we call it cyber-bullying.”

Lewinsky cited Tyler Clementi, a New Jersey college student who committed suicide in 2010 after being cyber-bullied for being gay. “Tyler’s tragic, senseless death was a turning point for me,” Lewinsky said. “It served to re-contextualize my experiences. I began to look at the world of humiliation and bullying around me and see something different… Every day online, people -- especially young people who are not developmentally equipped to handle this -- are so abused and humiliated that they can’t imagine living to the next day.”

“Public humiliation as a blood sport has to stop,” she continued. “...Just imagine walking a mile in someone else’s headline.”

Towards the end of her talk, Lewinsky answered the question she keeps receiving: Why come into the spotlight now? “The top-note answer was and is: Because it’s time," she answered. "Time to stop tiptoeing around my past… Time to take back my narrative."

Suge Knight Collapses In Court After Judge Sets Bail At $25 Million

(Reuters) - A judge set bail on Friday at $25 million for Suge Knight in a murder case, agreeing on the amount requested by prosecutors who had described the rap mogul in court papers as being "incapable of stopping his violent criminal behavior."

Knight, 49, is accused of running down two men with a pickup truck at a Los Angeles area burger stand on Jan. 29, killing one of them, following an argument on the set of a commercial for the film "Straight Outta Compton."

The Death Row records co-founder had been held without bail on charges of murder, attempted murder and two counts of hit-and-run with an added allegation of committing a violent felony while free on bail in another case.

At a bail-review hearing, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Ronald Coen also set a preliminary hearing for April 13.

Knight, who has been taken to the hospital after several of his recent court appearances, collapsed following the hearing and was taken out of the courtroom on a gurney, his attorney told the Los Angeles Times.

In seeking the multimillion-dollar bail, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office filed an extensive motion of 295 pages of legal papers and supporting material portraying Knight as a career criminal and repeated violator of probation and parole dating back to 1987.

The motion alleges that Knight is "physically incapable of stopping his violent criminal behavior" and that since being released from prison in 2002 he "has continued his repugnant life of crime."

Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Barnes noted Knight was free on bail in a robbery case involving the theft of a paparazzo's camera at the time he allegedly ran down Terry Carter, 55, and Cle "Bone" Sloan, 51, with a Ford F-150. Carter died; Sloan survived his injuries.

The prosecution motion also alleged that Knight is part of an "ongoing extortion scheme" in which new rappers arriving in Los Angeles and Las Vegas are required to pay him a "tax."

Knight has pleaded innocent and his lawyers have denied that he intentionally tried to kill Carter and Sloan. One attorney, Matthew Fletcher, also says Knight is blind in his left eye and may not have seen clearly during the incident.

Knight has previous convictions for assault with a deadly weapon and could face 25 years to life in prison under California's so-called three-strikes law if he is convicted at trial.

Sweatpants Cause Divorce?!

$
0
0
Last night, I was greeted by Eva Mendes telling "Extra" that sweatpants being "the number one cause of divorce in America"

Seriously, Eva? SERIOUSLY?!

Please, for the love of muffins, tell me you aren't serious about this. That you even uttered it out loud makes me wonder about how different your version of reality is from the rest of us non-Hollywood people.

I mean, I get that you're living a very different life than the average person, and that probably is even more glaringly different when it comes to such things as postpartum recovery and life with a baby.

Here's the thing, Eva, from one "average" lifestyle Mom's perspective:

Sweatpants? Let me tell you, the first few months after my babies were born? I'm not even sure I was wearing pants. Like, at all. The haze of sleep deprivations, hormones and my body leaking in ways nobody ever really warns you about, the last freaking thing I was worried about was clothes. Or makeup. Or working out. Or anything beyond survival... my baby's and mine. And there were times where I seriously wondered, in my Dear-God-Let-Me-Sleep-For-Four-Consecutive-Hours addled brain, where I wondered if a person could actually die from sleep deprivation. If my brain would simply rupture, leak out my ears, and I'd be found in a puddle of brain matter, breast milk or formula. Frankly, ensuring I was fit for being out in public without being arrested was my husband's responsibility. Cause I totally would've wandered out, baby puke not just on a shoulder, but possibly on my front, back, both shoulders, dribbling down a leg and maybe even between my toes.

I could totally have left the house without pants.

(Did I mention I don't do sleep deprivation well? At all?)

Thanks, Eva, for putting more pressure on women, especially postpartum women. Cause it's not enough that a woman has just pushed another human being out of her body, or had major abdominal surgery. Noooo! Let's talk about them dressing nicely, working out and makeup. Oh, can't forget the MAKEUP. A lot of postpartum women struggle with the changes in their bodies. Stretch marks, things swollen that they ever wonder if it will return to normal, breasts that are not only leaky, but considerably larger than they were before, a lot of us are shedding hair by the fistful, and wondering if they've managed a decent shower in the last week or two. For some of us "lucky" women, simply sitting comfortably seems like a distant dream.

Eva, us regular folk? We don't have staff. We're bouncing from one thing to another like sleep-deprived, insane pinballs. If baby is sleeping, we might be able to get a nap, or be doing laundry, grocery shopping, paying bills, cooking... there's never a shortage of things that needs to be done when it comes to the average household, especially when there's a new baby in the house.

Frankly, North American culture sucks when it comes to taking care of postpartum women. Birth has become something of a spectator sport, with family members asking, expecting and in some cases, even demanding a front row seat of the crowning baby. Then demands to visit, to feed and host family and friends. The idea of taking care of the new mother is something that has fallen off the radar for many people.

Someone who has just given birth deserves some care. Some rest. Without worrying about anyone's expectations, wants or demands. Without anyone telling her that she should be doing something different or, God forbid, more.

So, thanks Eva. Thanks for making new moms even less appreciated, for giving them some more ridiculous standards to meet, some more guilt for them to carry, some more ideals that the average person can't possibly hope to meet.

Awesome.

And then blame women for the divorce rates. Seriously? Women wearing sweatpants are cause of divorce? My husband, Wolf, wears sweatpants. Should I divorce him for it?

Oh, that's right... you said WOMEN weren't to wear them. Men weren't mentioned.

Good freaking grief.

And, for the record, I don't have a vested point of view when it comes to wearing sweatpants. Wear them, don't wear them, but to put the responsibility on dressing to meet a standard on a new mother, to put the responsibility on survival of a marriage on how a woman dresses, is insulting to both men and women.

50 Reasons Why Sam Smith Should Go to Prom With Me

$
0
0
I'll be honest here: I used to laugh at the teenagers who would ask their favorite celebrity to attend prom, winter formal or homecoming with them. Why, I wondered, would they want an A-List celebrity to show up to their prom?

However, this summer, I discovered an incredible artist named Sam Smith who completely rocked my world, and changed my outlook on music forever. It's my senior year, and although my chances of getting a reply are zero to nothing, I thought I'd whip up a list of why Sam Smith and I would be the coolest prom-goers around:

1. Your favorite designer happens to be Alexander McQueen, who, by stroke of fate, happens to be one of mine as well. We could roll into prom wearing a McQueen dress and tux, and the whole universe would explode from the plethora of awesomeness placed before it.

2. Your music mimics a lonely person, and nobody should have to live life feeling lonely. Please tell me "I'm Not The Only One" who thinks this?!

3. I'm quite the dancer. Not to brag, but my Macarena skills are pretty impressive.

4. The last dance I went to was during my sophomore year of high school. Unfortunately, I could only stay for an hour because I was throwing up in the bathroom! Going to prom with you would be a pretty sweet way to redeem me of that memory.

5.You like In-N-Out. I like In-N-Out.

6. My No. 1 New Year's resolution this year (2015) is to meet you. However, I try to go above and beyond what I wish for. Why just meet you, when I could go to prom with you?

7. You're only 22 and already have a hit album. I'm 17 and I already have a media company and a nonprofit organization. Therefore, the fusion of our unique talents and abilities would be a combination too incredible to turn down!

8. You're a noted feminist, and I happen to be the president of the Female Empowerment Club. On our way to prom, we could have a riveting discussion on the latest developments in women's rights.

9. Your music has taught me a lot of things, but one of the most profound things I learned is to be brave -- to stand in the face of unrequited love and still hold the capacity to feel. So this is me taking a chance, and asking you to make my senior year complete by going to prom with me!

10. You're a beautiful tenor. I'm an alto. If we sang together, it would be a mixture of Jesus, Fergie, fireworks and the kind of churro that melts in your mouth.

11. You grew up in England, so you never got to experience what an American prom is like. This is the perfect chance to do so!

12. Your birthday is on May 19, which is close to the time we have our prom. What a cool way to ring in your 23rd birthday by celebrating with one of your biggest fans!

13. From what I've heard, there's lot of people who want to relive their high school experience. You could take a trip back in time by going to Norco High School for a night!

14. My school may be small, but it's the perfect opportunity to make some new friends, take some selfies and develop some new fans for your music.

15. Going to prom with a fan is something you've never done before! 2015 can be a year of taking chances, experiencing more and trying something new, and what better way to begin that philosophy by going to prom with me?

16. This could be an awesome opportunity for you to find new inspirations for an upcoming song. I hear it now: "Will you go to prom with me?/'cause it's all I need/listen love it's clear to see/darling, go to prom with me."

17. You're a busy guy, so why not take a night off from working? It's a night of dancing, food and fun music, the perfect way to recharge for your upcoming projects.

18. This will give you the opportunity to talk to teenagers, since teens make up a huge percentage of your fan base. You could see what we like, what we don't like and what we want!

19. If you have new music that hasn't been released yet, this is your chance to try it out on a group of willing teens who love your music.

20. As a child, you would dress up like Mary Poppins and float around with your dad. I have a hashtag on Instagram based on my extreme love for Mary Poppins, called #juliasjollyholiday. If you went to prom with me, I'd be willing to extend the hashtag to #samandjuliasjollyholiday.

21. Your accent is literally the best. I'd be pretty content to hear your accent all day. I know my American accent is not the most impressive, but maybe yours could rub off on mine and it could just be a good thing all around.

22. We have the same favorite animal: an elephant! Imagine rolling into prom on an elephant as we discuss women's rights while listening to Stevie Wonder. Epic.

23. You've read every book in the Harry Potter and Twilight series. I've read none. This is the perfect opportunity to educate a youth on the glory of Hogwarts, Edward and Bella.

24. One day, I'll look back at my senior year and wonder why I didn't do certain things. Why didn't I buy a yearbook? Why didn't I join more clubs? But one thing I won't regret is asking you to my senior prom. This is the perfect moment to look back on when I'm old and wrinkly and remember that when I was at the ripe age of 17, I took a chance.

25. I'm full of really awesome Disney quotes, to be used during virtually any situation.

26. You admitted openly that you deal with OCD, and this is something that I admire you so heavily for. We all have our faults and failures, but you are able to be so vulnerable about it. You are not just an artist I listen to; you're someone I look up to.

27. I feel like I relate to you, as we both want more than what this life has to offer. In an interview with Fame Focus, you said that you "want to see the world. I want to be rich in all the foods I've tasted and all the places I've been and all the people I've kissed. I want to be rich in every single way."

28. Your favorite way to relax is by eating food. Rumor has it, there is some pretty great food at prom...

29. I'm a sad AP student with no social life. Help a sister out.

30. I saw you at the 2014 American Music Awards but we were on two completely different sides of the red carpet. So, so, so close.

31. You used to do musical theater. In the prime days of my youth, I was a tiger, a cackling woman and a murderous nun in my musical theater career.

32. You like Beyoncé. When I go to Starbucks, I order under the name of Beyoncé. Together, we could be flawless.

33. You are my spirit animal. It's basically meant to happen.

34.I told my friends to "Say a Little Prayer" for you to see this and go to prom with me (and also because that's the first song you learned the words to).

35. I've just watched about four hours of interviews to put this article together.

36. And even more hours of reading Internet articles.

37. If you combine our names, it's either "Schemith" or "Smithmer." What's cooler than that?

38. My nickname around my house is "Lala," so when you sing that song, you're essentially singing it about me.

39. My favorite tea is English Breakfast tea, as is yours. Together we could be as sweet, hot (in our Alexander McQueen outfits) and of course, British.

40. You're an old soul, and my parents often worry about me because they think I was somehow born in the 1940s. Who needs technology when you have swing dancing and old-fashioned fun?

41. You're inspired by Whitney Houston, and my best friend's name is Whitney. Coincidence? I think not!

42. I'm traveling to Europe this summer for the first time, and would like to hear your recommendations on where to go, what to do and what to eat.

43. I'm also a journalist, so on our way to prom, we could do an interview, thus enhancing your publicity. No worries bro, I got you.

44. Your voice sounds like Jesus. Therefore, I'd basically be attending prom with Jesus which is pretty rad.

45. I had a dream that I met you and we took a really cool selfie that shut down Twitter. And then I woke up and was sad because I didn't really meet you. If I got to meet you, it'd be a chance to be happy. I like being happy.

46. I'm having trouble coming up with what I want to have as my senior quote. Since you have an awesome way with words, maybe you could be the author of my senior quote.

47. I won't have another excuse to buy an expensive dress until my wedding.

48. We're both photogenic people, so our prom pictures would look rad.

49. I wish I had the opportunity to tell you how much your music made an impact in my life. When I designed the first edition of my magazine, your album was all that I listened to. (It's still all I listen to, I'll be honest.) Your music dynamically changed my life, and showed me that it's okay to be in the lonely hour, but also gave me the hope that I won't always be in there either.

50. I just came up with a list of 49 other reasons. C'mon Sam!

North West Is Kanye's Tiny Dancer In A Pink Tutu

It's no secret that Kim Kardashian avoids dressing her daughter, North West, in stereotypical pink. But as the reality star told Lucky magazine last year, it's a sartorial choice made by Nori herself.

"She doesn’t like pink or purple -- she likes greys, creams, oatmeal colors and black," Kardashian explained. "Every once in awhile she’ll add in some color, like with her little red Air Yeezys, but other than that she likes to keep it pretty simple."

But times have apparently changed. On Thursday, the 21-month-old was spotted looking extra adorable in a light pink leotard and matching tutu, which she donned for her tap class. On Friday, her proud mom shared a photo of daddy Kanye West holding his tiny dancer as they left the studio. "My cuties! #twinning #geminis," Kardashian captioned the snap.

And while they may be twinning, North seems to be an equal mix of both her parents. The 34-year-old reality star also posted this split of her daughter and herself at North's age, writing, "My princess and I at the same age! North is seriously the sweetest, funniest girl I know! ."

Julianne Hough stuns in the April issue of Allure magazine and opens up about that highly-publicized split from Ryan Seacrest.

Although it's been two years since the couple called it quits, the 26-year-old actress and dancer, who is now dating Washington Capitals hockey player Brooks Laich, is shedding some new light on the breakup. First fact: Her beloved short haircut was a post-split decision.

She cut it for her role in "Safe Haven," but decided to chop more "when I cut ties with my relationship," she tells Allure. "It was about changing it up and beginning fresh -- in the movie but in real life, also.”

And second fun fact? Hough runs into her old beau from time to time. "It's hard not to," she says, "he's everywhere."

As for that time she rocked the Internet for wearing blackface to dress up as Crazy Eyes, Uzo Aduba's character on "Orange Is the New Black," for Halloween, Hough says she learned "a big lesson."

"Ignorance is sometimes not bliss; I really had no idea what I was doing, and it was all out of fun and respect for the character," Hough tells Allure. "I don't even know how to talk about it because it's such a sensitive topic. It makes me so sad to think that I was that dumb."

At a recent benefit show, Demi Lovato shared an evening of performances and stories about her mental health journey with some lucky fans -- including a very special surprise guest.

The “Heart Attack” singer was raising money for her Lovato Treatment Scholarship Program with a benefit concert where she talked about her struggles with mental illness and answered questions. When asked about her boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama, Demi mentioned how sad she was that he couldn’t be there.

“My heart is broken that he couldn’t be here tonight,” she said.

Her heart wasn’t broken for long because the actor walked out on stage seconds later to surprise her. The two got fans squealing as they kissed on stage before Wilmer led the audience in singing “Happy Birthday” to celebrate Demi’s third year of sobriety. Later, he had some touching words to say about his girlfriend.

“There’s, like, a million things to say, but one thing I can honestly say is that it’s been a long time since we’ve seen a role model like her,” he told the audience. “It’s been a long time to see somebody that actually has the courage to be who she wants to be. And if you can take anything from tonight, walk away understanding that from today, life will get better.”

Demi recently showed her love for her boyfriend on Instagram where she told followers how grateful she was for his support over the years.

“I really wouldn’t be alive today without him,” she wrote in the caption.

Karlie Kloss Makes Her Music Video Debut For Chic's 'I'll Be There'

Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss just graced the cover of Vogue magazine together, and now it looks like their friendship is rubbing off on each other even more: Kloss just made her music video debut.

The 22-year-old appears in the new Chic video featuring Nile Rodgers for "I'll Be There," which is the band's first single in years. Kloss -- who's seen writhing around on the ground in black underwear and executing Jane Fonda-style ab moves -- does all the things normal people would do when they listen to music by themselves... if they were supermodels.

Kloss makes a few outfit changes throughout the video, switching from a red sweatshirt and black lingerie to a glitter dress. She eventually slips into an intricately cutout white number. So "chic."

We do have one request for the next music video Kloss stars in: make it Taylor Swift's!

Mary Lambert: I Thought Singing 'Same Love' Might Get Me Killed

Mary Lambert isn't just open about being a lesbian. One spin of plucky single "Secrets" lays bare the singer/songwriter's struggles with weight, bipolar disorder, a dysfunctional family and much, much more. Says Lambert with a laugh, "I'm severely out!"
2015-03-20-1426847582-7131854-MaryLambert.jpg

"There was a time in my life when I was starting out that I realized the people at my shows knew far more about me than my close coworkers did," shared Lambert during a recent telephone interview. "I realized that was unique."

Intimately confessional writing marks Lambert's 2014 album Heart on My Sleeve. From past sexual trauma to bouts of self-harm, nothing was off-limits when writing the pop album, she said, because "it's second nature to include pieces of [personal] history in my music."

That much is clear. The singer's lyrical honesty first gained mainstream attention on Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' critically-acclaimed hit "Same Love." There, Lambert provides the song's yearning chorus, later extended into the even more autobiographical breakthrough solo single "She Keeps Me Warm."

"I never thought I would hear a song like ['Same Love'] on the radio," admits the 25-year-old, who came out eight years ago. "I think that's what was so emotional about the whole thing. I knew the implications of what we were going to do."

Lambert relished Mackelemore & Ryan Lewis' offer to honestly tell her story of being "hugely affected [growing up] as a Christian lesbian" -- experiences she continues to process through in solo work. Still, in addition to being painfully aware of the potential impact "Same Love" might have upon release, she also knew its possible consequences.

"I'd never been anywhere, never been outside the metropolitan scene of Seattle, and didn't know anything outside of it," said Lambert. That meant she had no idea how others might respond to a song about same-sex relationships. As the time came to begin promoting it, she braced for the worst.

"The feeling of peace I got was knowing I was doing it right," she said of accepting the possibility "Same Love" might evoke deadly backlash. "Knowing I was ok with that let me know I was doing exactly what I needed to be doing."

According to Lambert, what happened next shocked her.

Not only did she not receive death threats, "Same Love" shot to No. 1 in countries around the world. With more than 136 million views-to-date on YouTube, the 2013 ode to same-sex marriage rose to No. 11 on U.S. pop charts and thrust Lambert into the international spotlight.

A "Song of the Year" Grammy nomination followed. Macklemore, Lewis and Lambert performed "Same Love" with Madonna at that year's awards ceremony as Queen Latifah married 33 same-sex couples live on television.

"I thought I was going to be murdered," Lambert half-joked, "But instead I got nominated for a Grammy!"

Her astonishment didn't stop there, Lambert says. Performing "Same Love" live on Macklemore & Lewis' sold-out, global stadium tour changed her life. The artist was overwhelmed with love each time she stepped onstage.

"They were cheering and crying...10,000 people chanting my name," she recalled. "I had kids in rainbow shirts in front, looking at me... I couldn't believe I was part of this thing that meant so much to so many people.

"All I wanted to do was make sure I was honoring it correctly and being a good representation," said Lambert of the song.

"I couldn't believe this was my life, especially after the shit show I'd been through," she concluded, "It was really, really gratifying."
