'Wheel Of Fortune' Contestant Fails Miserably At Disney Puzzle

There's no happily ever after here. On a recent episode of "Wheel of Fortune," a contestant likely should have thought twice before deciding to solve a Disney puzzle. Though the answer was clearly the names of seven dwarfs from "Snow White," one in particular tripped her up.

In the contestant's defense, it's not like she forgot how the game worked or fell down or anything. Really, her only wrongdoing was perhaps not watching enough Disney movies. And, of course, thinking there was a dwarf named "Sneaky," spelled with two Es. That was a big problem, too.

Platinum Blonde Jared Leto Looks A LOT Like Karl Lagerfeld

DROP EVERYTHING: Jared Leto is platinum blonde.

It's been just days since the world mourned the loss of Leto's beloved man bun. Now, the handsome actor is pretty much unrecognizable with his new platinum, shaved 'do.

Leto debuted the look at Paris Fashion Week, and already the comparisons to fellow new platinum blonde Kim Kardashian have started rolling in. On second glance, he kind of looks exactly like a totally different fashion icon: Karl Lagerfeld.

The drastic change is in preparation for his upcoming role as The Joker in "Suicide Squad," but come on. Between the white shirt, the sunglasses and the stoic stare, it's classic Uncle Karl.

Now all we need is the two of them in a photo together to make the Internet really explode.

Harrison Ford Injured In Plane Crash

A plane piloted by Harrison Ford crashed on a Los Angeles area golf course on Thursday afternoon, leaving the actor injured but "ok" according to his son. Ford's involvement in the crash on Penmar Golf Course in Venice was also confirmed by multiple news organizations.

"Harrison was flying a WW2 vintage plane today which had engine trouble upon take off," his publicist said in a statement to The Daily Beast. "He had no other choice but to make an emergency landing, which he did safely. He was banged up and is in the hospital receiving medical care. The injuries sustained are not life threatening, and he is expected to make a full recovery."

TMZ was the first to report the news that Ford was taken to the hospital following the incident. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed the plane's solo occupant was transported to a local hospital. Authorities would not identify the person injured in the crash. In a media briefing, a representative for the LAFD said the patient was found in "moderate condition," "conscious," "breathing" and outside the plane when the paramedics arrived on the scene. No other people were injured.

The LAFD released a statement in a series of tweets:

The single-engine aircraft suffered a medium to high impact on the grass at Penmar Golf Course. Bystanders rendered aid to the conscious and breathing approximate 70 y/o male pilot prior to firefighters arrival. Firefighters provided immediate medical aid to the patient who is now described as suffering fair to moderate injury and being treated at a local hospital.

NBC initially reported Ford sustained serious injuries, including cuts to his head. "There was blood all over his face," a Penmar Golf Course employee told NBC News. An unnamed family member categorized Ford as "fine."

His son Ben Ford also tweeted an update from the hospital:

In a briefing later Thursday night, an NTSB official said that the pilot had reported engine power loss, and then clipped a tree before landing on the golf course. He was trying to return to the airport when the engine failed, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said. "We believe he is going to survive at this point," the NTSB official said, still not identifying the pilot.

TMZ posted audio purported to be of Ford communicating with Santa Monica Airport air traffic control shortly after takeoff. (In the clip, the pilot reports engine failure and requests an immediate return to the airport.) Fox 11 Los Angeles obtained footage of the plane on the ground as well:

Ford, 72, has been involved in multiple plane crashes over the years, most notably in 2000 when he made a crash landing in his six-passenger plane in Nebraska. In 1999, a helicopter he was piloting crashed in Santa Clarita, California. He escaped unharmed both times.

'Scandal' Takes On Institutionalized Racism And Police Brutality In Ferguson-Inspired Episode

Thursday night's "Scandal" focused on the shooting of an unarmed black teen named Brandon Parker in Washington, D.C., less than two miles from the White House. In the episode, called "The Lawn Chair," tensions run high as the boy's father positions himself in front of his son's body with a shotgun, refusing to move from the crime scene. Mere days after being held hostage and auctioned on the black market, Olivia Pope is brought on the help the police force manage the incident. She works to avoid a riot, but soon finds herself disillusioned by the people she is defending.

It doesn't take long for Liv to be swayed by the injustice, and she joins forces with the activist leading the crowd surrounding Brandon and his father Clarence. "Stand up. Fight back. No more black men under attack," she chants.

She then does some classic Olivia Pope maneuvering to convince Attorney General David Rosen to grant a subpoena for footage of the altercation. "That man standing over his son's body thinks he's going to end up in one or two places: jail or a drawer in the morgue ... I lived in complete fear" she says to Rosen, referencing her too-recent kidnapping. "Imagine living like that every single day of your life."

When they finally get the tape, the video shows Brandon reaching for something in his jacket. The police claim he had a knife, and, sure enough, a knife is found on his body. But his father is outraged. "He doesn't carry a knife," he says, over and over.

Through her usual super-human powers, Liv is able to prove the knife did not belong to Brandon -- it was evidence from an earlier arrest; Brandon was just reaching for a receipt -- and puts the offending office behind bars. "What the hell is it with you people? Yeah, you people," the (unabashedly racist) policeman who shot Brandon yells at Olivia when she confronts him at the station. "You people have no idea what loyalty is, what respect is. You're here because you were supposed to help us and you spend every second of it trying to tear me down and push your own damn agenda." It's a sobering moment where the camera finds the black officers in the room, focusing on each of their faces as the cop spews his racist agenda.

During the final moments of the episode, Nina Simone plays in the background and Liv tells Clarence the officer is behind bars. Justice is served. She then brings him to the White House and the episode closes with Clarence crying in President Fitz's arms. A final shot shows Brandon being zipped into a body bag.

"In the end, we went with showing what fulfilling the dream SHOULD mean," Shonda Rhimes tweeted at the end of the episode. "The idea of possibility. And the despair we feel now." Here's what Kerry Washington and the rest of Twitter had to say:

"Better Call" someone to help you calm down after this.

Aaron Paul is pretty much all for making an appearance in AMC's "Breaking Bad" spinoff. While talking with Variety about a possible cameo, the actor said, "We always have fun having that discussion, Vince [Gilligan], myself, Peter [Gould], the writers, we just have no idea how that would happen. But hopefully one day.”

"Better Call Saul" has already featured a number of "Breaking Bad" returns, including its star Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks and (spoiler alert) Raymond Cruz as drug dealer Tuco.

Though Paul is clearly in interested in reprising his role as Jesse Pinkman, fans may need to be a little patient. The actor previously told HuffPost, "There's no plan of Jesse or Walt making an appearance in the first season of 'Better Call Saul.' [But] who knows? Maybe in the future seasons."

How To Go Platinum Blonde, According To Kim Kardashian's Colorist

Kim Kardashian seemed to "break the Internet" when she debuted platinum blonde hair during Paris Fashion Week on Thursday. The celebrity has colorist Lorri Goddard to thank for her new look.

kim kardashian

Goddard is the woman behind some of Hollywood's hottest blondes (including Reese Witherspoon, Kate Hudson, Chloe Grace Moretz and the Olsen twins) so Kardashian's locks were in trusty hands. The colorist was introduced to the reality star by celebrity hairstylist Gregory Russell. "We tossed around ideas of hues and applications and all decided on the end result," he told The Huffington Post.

Paris Fashion Week inspired the transformation, according to Goddard. "It is a time for adventure-chic shades to be shown," she explained. We bet Jared Leto would agree.

Before Kardashian jetted off to the City of Light, the two hair professionals worked for a few hours in California. Russell trimmed her hair from the previous lob cut to "keep it fresh," while Goddard took on the brunette-to-blonde challenge. Going blonde is far from simple, whether you're doing it yourself at home or leaving it up to the pros.

"It is extremely difficult to take dark hair to platinum as it shifts the condition of the hair but hair can be kept strong if the proper conditions are taken," said Goddard. "Always start with a strand test to establish if hair is strong enough to take the platinum journey and begin the hair process away from the scalp working with ends first as the scalp exudes heat, which quickens the process."

Goddard's pro tip for anyone who may be thinking of going platinum: "Make sure the hair is freshly cut and preferably uncolored for three to six months as that will yield the best results."

Common On Being Black In America: 'I Look At It As A Gift' (VIDEO)

As a celebrity with a powerful platform, Oscar winner Common often speaks out with focused intensity about the struggles for justice, dignity and freedom -- as he did in his impassioned speech from the Academy Award stage last month. It's the kind of perspective that can only be delivered from the heart, and as a proud black man in America, Common says his own experiences have most certainly helped form his strong opinions about how we should treat one another.

In an Oprah.com interview celebrating the 50th anniversary of the historic Selma-to-Montgomery marches, Common talks about growing up on the south side of Chicago and learning to be proud of his ancestry and the "beautiful aspects of being black."

"I got to learn who I am as a black man in America, as a black person in America and to be able to embrace that," he says. "With embracing that, I'm also able to love others and not feel uncomfortable in any other situation because I know and recognize and value my blackness. I look at it as a gift and a blessing and it makes me honor and respect everybody else's tradition, culture and nationality."

Common says the freedom to be who we are is a God-given gift.

"You have the qualities to love, you have the qualities to forgive, you have the qualities of tolerance and grace and all those beautiful aspects that God gives you," he says.

Freedom, he says, is a mindset. "Being confined to some of the old prejudices that existed, freedom allows you to be yourself wherever you are," he says. "And that freedom of the mind is really important because then you get to learn who you are and you get to embrace who you are and love who you are and be who you are, wherever you are."

Adam Carolla Says He's 'Done Apologizing' For Jokes About Race And Sexuality

Adam Carolla is not sorry about his jokes that others find offensive.

When he stopped by HuffPost Live on Thursday to chat about the new film "Road Hard," which Carolla co-wrote, co-directed and stars in, the comic responded to a viewer who asked for his take on Calling Out Carolla, a Tumblr blog that documents "anti-LGBT language" Carolla has used.

"Go find a politician or somebody who's in charge and poke a popsicle stick up their butt," Carolla answered. "I'm a comedian. I'm done apologizing, I really am. ... And by the way, everyone who apologizes is faking it. They're only doing it because they're gonna get canned."

Carolla added that he doesn't feel responsible for how anyone interprets the things he says.

"You are in charge of your own feelings. I'm not in charge of your feelings. I'm here to make jokes. I'm here to make commentaries. I'm here to share my opinions," he said. "Tough shit if you don't like it."

When host Josh Zepps suggested that activist groups may find Carolla's jokes about race or sexuality offensive because he's a straight white man, Carolla rejected the idea that "white privilege" colors his work.

"I worked cleaning up garbage on construction sites. I got welfare and food stamps. I was as poor as it could be," Carolla said. "And there's no, 'Oh, you don't have to dig because you're white.' ... There's no, 'You don't have to pick up garbage because you're white.' No, you pick up garbage because you're poor. You guys focus on color. Focus on poverty."

Carolla's problem with the outraged response to jokes made by himself or other comedians is that he feels it distracts from truly harmful comments.

"There's never been a better time in this country's history to actually be a racist, because I'm a racist, according to you guys. So if I'm a racist -- a guy who's never done anything bad to any race -- and you get to go be a racist too, and I'll be the racist and I'll take the heat [in the media]," Carolla said. "If you're an actual racist, these are your salad days, because you're busy pointing at comedians, calling them racist."

The comedian closed out the discussion by saying society should turn its focus from entertainers to people who actively seek to damage minority groups.

"If you want to treat it like a problem -- and it is a problem -- let's focus on where the problem is. Who are the actual racists? What is the actual homophobia?" he said. "I'm with you. I'll grab a pitchfork and be with you."

'Walking Dead' Star Norman Reedus Says He Would've 'Rocked' Gay Storyline

Norman Reedus might not have the opportunity to play out a gay storyline on "The Walking Dead," but if he did, he'd rock it.

The actor discussed his character Daryl Dixon's sexuality with Conan O'Brien Wednesday. Fans were buzzing about the hunky badass over the summer as theories circulated that Daryl's plot resembled that of Jesus, a gay character in the comic book. Creator Robert Kirkman said Daryl's sexuality had been "discussed" and that they had "very specific ideas" about it.

Reedus told O'Brien that he and former showrunner Frank Darabont had a discussion about his character being gay very early on in the series and Reedus was into it. But some fans apparently weren't as enthusiastic.

"When that rumor went around, I'd go to these convention-type things and you would have little kids come over and go, 'Man, I don't care what's going on. You're awesome,'" Reedus said. "And then you'd have like guys my age or a little bit older, and they'd be like, 'Uhh.' And then you'd have women that were like, 'You'd better not be!'"

"To tell you the truth, if that's the story they gave me, I would rock that story," he added. "I'm not afraid."

In October, Reedus quashed bogus reports claiming he begged for his character to not be gay over fear of losing his adoring female fanbase.

Gloria Steinem On What Men Have To Gain From Feminism

Last night, during the opening evening of the International Conference On Masculinities there were some big feminist players mingling over bite-sized sandwiches. Notable guests and participants ranged from renowned masculinities studies professor Michael Kimmel to "Lean In's" Sheryl Sandberg and, of course, the Great Gloria Steinem.

After some discussion about why she wasn't wearing her newly famous clitoris ring, The Huffington Post spoke to Steinem about what her advice would be to young men who want to get involved in the feminist movement. "First of all, men should know that there's always been a huge, vibrant's men's movement," she said. "And I hope that because this [conference] is bringing the information together the male feminists will now be more recognized."

Steinem explained why men have as much at sake in feminism as women. "I would say that each of us has only one thing to gain from the feminist movement: Our whole humanity," she said. "Because gender has wrongly told us that some things are masculine and some things are feminine... which is bullshit."

She went on to give some great advice to young feminists, telling HuffPost, "To young feminists I would say, what do you care about? What do you love so much that you forget what time it is when you're doing it? And just do it. We're all here to support each other."

In its first year ever, the three-day conference, created by Stony Brook University, will feature talks and panels on a range of topics concerning men and boys, from fatherhood, men's health and how more men can involve themselves in the feminist movement. Partners and supporters of the conference include Men Engage Alliance, HeForShe, The American Men's Studies Association and #LeanInTogether.

International Women's Day: Leveraging Mobile for Women's Empowerment and Equality

$

Who among us can live without our cell phones?

Each year on International Women's Day, the world comes together to celebrate women and advocate for gender equality. It's a message we feel is an important one to share, especially as moms. In our part of the world, reaching a level of equality means we are able to care for our children, while achieving great things at our jobs and work. And as professional, single moms, we are -- like all moms -- juggling many aspects of our lives throughout the day, and grateful to be able to accomplish all the things we do each day. But, if we're being honest, getting it done means relying mostly on our mobile phones.

Our phones are how we keep it all together and meet the needs of our kids throughout the day -- from multitasking during a meeting to schedule an emergency doctor's visit after a soccer practice goes awry, to finding the fastest route to a cello recital while finishing up a conference call, to paying the bills online while in a cab between meetings. The information we access through our phones, right in the palms of our hands, helps us track multiple tasks and responsibilities, enabling us to be better at them all. Our phones are so integral to our lives that it is hard to imagine life without them.

In addition to being moms, we are also passionate social activists who know the power of mobile phones to improve the health of vulnerable women and children globally. We also know the role that leveraging the mobile phone can play in promoting women's interests, specifically through access to information that can empower them and help level the playing field.

Living in the United States where internet and WI-FI access is all but ubiquitous, where email and text messaging are typical daily communications for most, we forget that it wasn't too long ago that we were using standard-feature phones that weren't app-enabled and couldn't easily access the internet. Before the internet, like our sisters in low- and middle-income countries, we relied on our village -- mothers, sisters, friends -- for information on all aspects of being a mother. But it wasn't in the palm of our hand, and it wasn't instant access to the best information and global best practices.

The good news is that many women are getting more and greater access to information, connecting to the internet through smart phones, leapfrogging the need for more traditional computers. Mobile phones and its associated technology can help women on the other side of the digital divide transition into active consumers in this age of information, that improves the health and well-being of themselves, and their families; and organizations like the Lopez Family Foundation and Mobile Alliance for Maternal Action (MAMA) can help them do that.

Through MAMA's timed and targeted information that is both relevant to their lives and critical to their health, that is sent directly to their cell phones, women become comfortable with the technology platform, better understand the empowering force they can provide and begin to participate in related services that improve their lives in other ways. Through the Lopez Family Foundation's promotion of Telemedicine, women, families and medical professionals in the most remote areas have access to the latest medical advancements.

Women have come a long way in developed and developing countries, but significant gaps remain. We believe that mobile technology will go a long way in helping us close those gaps, empowering women with information, services and ultimately, confidence, that will help them best care for themselves, their families and their communities.

Join us in our mission to bring gender equality to all by sharing your dream for women. Tweet using the hashtags #IWD (International Women's Day) #EWEC (Every Woman, Every Child) and #PictureIt, starting on International Women's Day, Sunday, March 8, 2015, and let us know your vision for women around the world.

E! Reportedly Edited Out Part Of Giuliana Rancic's Zendaya Comment

$

Giuliana Rancic's infamous comment on "Fashion Police" about Zendaya's hair was possibly taken out of context in post-production.

That's the claim from People, which stated Wednesday that E! Entertainment allegedly edited out part of the joke that was written for Rancic before the episode aired. News of the tweaked dialogue was also published by TheWrap on Friday.

Rancic was criticized for saying Zendaya's dreadlocks smelled "like patchouli oil" or "weed." But in a script obtained by TheWrap, Rancic preceded those remarks by saying, "And it's just like too Boho. Zendaya is more high fashion. The hair to me, on her, is making her a little Boho." (A reporter for People Magazine saw the tape as well, before it was edited.)

According to The Wrap, before the host was even able to finish the joke, she was cut off by Kathy Griffin, who made a zinger about The Grateful Dead -- implying the comments were about Zendaya looking like a hippie, rather than there being any racial undertones.

Reps for E! Entertainment and Rancic were not immediately available for comment.

In the wake of the remark as it aired on E!, Rancic was slammed by many, including Zendaya.

"There is a fine line between what is funny and disrespectful. Someone said something about my hair at the Oscars that left me in awe. Not because I was relishing in rave outfit reviews, but because I was hit with ignorant slurs and pure disrespect," she wrote on Instagram. "To say that an 18-year-old young woman with locs must smell of patchouli oil or 'weed' is not only a large stereotype but outrageously offensive."

Despite what may have happened behind the scenes, Rancic did shoulder the blame herself and apologize.

"Something I said did cross the line," Rancic said in her apology. "I didn’t intend to hurt anybody, but I’ve learned it is not my intent that matters. It’s the result. And the result is that people are offended, including Zendaya, and that is not okay. Therefore, I want to say to Zendaya and anyone else out there that I have hurt, that I am so, so sincerely sorry.”

For more on the remark, head to TheWrap and People.
