Kevin Durant Says Everyone Who Made 'You The Real MVP' Jokes Has 'No Morals,' Is Probably Right

During Kevin Durant’s touching 2014 NBA MVP speech, the Oklahoma City Thunder forward struggled to hold back tears as he recounted the many sacrifices his mother had made throughout his life to help him get where he is today.

“You made us believe. You kept us off the street, put clothes on our backs, food on the table. When you didn’t eat, you made sure we ate. You went to sleep hungry. You sacrificed for us,” Durant said. “You the real MVP.”

One of the great moments in NBA history, reduced to Internet nothingness.

The world being horrible, that poignant final line, “You the real MVP,” was quickly co-opted by the emotionless blob known as the Internet. The quote was slapped onto photos and paired with one-liners many times over in the name of cheap giggles.

Quickly, “You the real MVP” transformed from an emblem of a single mother’s sacrifice into something truly horrendous: an Internet meme.

Well, guess what! It kind of pissed off Kevin Durant. Buried within his GQ interview with Zach Baron, the reigning MVP -- to use an Internet word -- eviscerated everyone who chewed up Durant's genuine moment of vulnerability and spat it back out on Internet chat boards:

I was like, man, that was a real emotional moment for me, and you making a joke about it! Like: Damn. Y'all don't really believe in shit. You don't have no morals or nothing. You don't care about nothing but just making fun.

How are you supposed to act in the world, when people feel entitled even to a moment like that?

I was serious as hell saying that, you know what I'm saying?

We do, Kevin. And we’re sorry!!!

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A fight and stabbing outside a bar early Wednesday left one member of Nicki Minaj's tour dead and another in critical condition.

The tour members had flown into Philadelphia for rehearsals two days earlier, Minaj wrote on Twitter. Police said the two men were stabbed in the city's West Oak Lane section. They identified the man who died as Devon Pickett, of New York City. The identity of the other man hadn't been disclosed.

Pickett, who was 29, suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at a hospital, police said. The other man, who's 27, was stabbed in the left side and arm, they said.

Both were taken to the hospital by car before police arrived at the Che' Bar and Grill, police said.

Police said the fight began when a man started arguing with the victims inside the bar at about 2 a.m. and pulled a knife once they got outside.

Minaj posted a link to a TV report on the bar stabbings.

"Another senseless act of violence that took the life of a great guy. So sad," Minaj wrote.

Minaj's tour begins March 16 in Europe, according to her website. The rapper, who was born in Trinidad and grew up in New York, is known for such hits as "Anaconda" and "Bang Bang," her pop song with Jessie J and Ariana Grande.

The Half Man Is The Only 'Two And A Half Men' Cast Member To Age In 12 Years

Today we know them as manly men, men, men, but it didn't start out that way.

Though the show seems to have been huge forever, "Two and a Half Men" began as a pilot back in 2003. Since that time, the series has gone through a lot of changes and even some controversies. Charlie Sheen became a rock star from Mars, Ashton Kutcher stepped in to replace him and later Angus T. Jones left. Amazingly, through all its ups and downs, "Two and a Half Men" has largely remained an Emmy-winning staple on CBS.

Now that the show is ending its 12-season-run this Thursday, here's a look back at the cast when it first began:

The "Two and a Half Men" two-part series finale airs Thursday, Feb. 19, on CBS.

The end of "Mad Men" looms closer, meaning its time to speculate about the fate of our favorite Sterling Cooper characters. The final seven episodes of AMC's series kick off in April, picking back up with Don & Co. as they head into the 1970s.

Creator Matthew Weiner has remained silent on details about the second half of the seventh season, but we can at least look forward to the new fashions to come. Check out the new Season 7 (part two) photos below, where Don, Peggy, Betty, Sally, Megan (she's back!), Joan, Roger and Pete look way too cool lounging at a festive summer party (as usual):

"Mad Men" returns for its final episodes on April 5 at 10:00 p.m. ET on AMC.

6 Things To Know About The New 'Cinderella,' Lily James

If you've been watching a lot of television these days, then you've probably caught a glimpse of the new trailer for the upcoming Disney remake of "Cinderella." (Especially if you watch "The Bachelor.")

And if you still have no idea who the actress playing Cinderella in the movie is, look no further for your answer. Robb Stark's Richard Madden's onscreen love is 25-year-old Lily James, and you just might recognize her from some award-winning TV series.

Here are five things to know about the British beauty:

1. Lily James' real name is Lily Chloe Ninette Thomson.
lily james
The actress, born in Esher, Surrey, took her stage name in honor of her father -- British actor and musician James Thompson -- who died in 2008 after a cancer diagnosis.

2. Her grandmother was an actress as well.
James' grandmother is the late American-born actress Helen Horton, who is the voice of Mother, the ship computer, in Ridley Scott's "Alien." She also appeared in "Superman 3" and "Phase IV."

3. James plays Lady Rose MacClare on "Downton Abbey."

James first appeared as the rebellious great-niece of Dowager Countess of Grantham (Maggie Smith) on the last episode of Season 3 of "Downton Abbey." She is now a series regular, starring alongside Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Elizabeth McGovern and Hugh Bonneville on the hit show.

4. James has been referred to as the next Keira Knightley.
"The next Keira? I'll take that as a nice thing because just as many nasty things are written," James told The Independent. "When I worked with Bill Nighy on 'Wrath of the Titans,' he said to me, 'There's one thing you can promise me and that's never ever, ever, read your reviews.' And I have taken that on board with the theatre, but for some reason I looked at stuff with the television I've done and it's silly; I won't again."

5. She dates fellow Brit, and former "Doctor Who" star, Matt Smith.
lily james
James confirmed to the New York Post that she and Smith are an item in a recent interview. But don't expect her to divulge information about their romance. “In regards to your love life, you’re just entering into a whole [lot] of pain if you talk about it," James told InStyle UK in January. "If you’ve never said anything, there are no sound bites to haunt you when you’re crying into a box of Kleenex after it all goes wrong.”

6. She's a natural brunette.
lily james
James dyed her locks for her role on "Downton Abbey." Luckily, a casting director of "Cinderella" noticed her blond hair and asked her to read for the lead role in the movie, despite the fact that she originally auditioned to play an ugly stepsister.

Let This Mad Lib Serve As Proof That All Oscar Acceptance Speeches Sound The Same

It's the night of the annual Academy Awards and everyone is anxiously waiting to find out who won Best Picture, Best Actress and Best Actor. The winners' speeches, however? Not so much.

Let's face it: awards show acceptance speeches are usually pretty dull. Thanking the Academy? It's been done. Gushing over people that the audience doesn't know exist? Every time. And don't even get us started on the speeches that get all political.

It doesn't take a teary-eyed celebrity to write your standard Oscars acceptance speech, so we made it even easier by crafting this homage to Mad Libs, that fill-in-the-blank game we had when we were kids. Read below and remind yourself of how cookie-cutter the speeches really are.

Twitter Helped This 'Harry Potter' Fan Get A Touching Letter From J.K. Rowling

Every “Harry Potter” fan wants a letter from Hogwarts. Johnnie Blue of Scotland got something even better.

Johnnie is a major fan of the book series and shows off his Potterhead pride by attending themed events. He has also visited the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London that’s filled with props and costumes from the films.

In the past, he’s gotten replies from author J.K. Rowling on Twitter and even met her at a signing for “The Silkworm,” a book she wrote under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. When they met, she had recognized him from his tweets.

According to BuzzFeed, Johnnie gave Rowling a notebook at the signing with a letter inside about the impact she had on his life. The author responded in true "Harry Potter" fashion -- a letter in an envelope with a Chamber of Secrets stamp.

In the letter, Rowling thanks Johnnie for the gift and praises him for overcoming his struggles with being bullied.

“I freely confess that I loathe bullying and the way it is still so often 'handled' in schools. Your experience is shocking and disturbing and that you have turned out to be a compassionate, moral, highly motivated person is high testimony to your courage. Gryffindor for you, my lad….”

She ends the letter with a promise to continue their friendship the way it started.

"I'm sure we'll see each other again. In the meantime, I'll watch out for you on Twitter."

To read the letter in its entirety, head over to BuzzFeed.

With Rowling around, the magic never ends.

'Breaking Bad' Fan Adam Scott Was As Nervous About 'Better Call Saul' As You Were

Adam Scott is just like you: obsessed with "Breaking Bad." He's talked about the Emmy-winning series with Vulture, HuffPost Live and even on "Talking Bad," which was the "Breaking Bad" after show on AMC. But despite his commitment to Vince Gilligan's beloved series, Scott wasn't immediately convinced that "Better Call Saul" would work.

"I kind of bracing myself to be disappointed, because how can a spinoff to one of the greatest shows ever possibly be as good -- or even half as good -- as the show it's spun off from," Scott told HuffPost Entertainment in a recent interview.

Fortunately, his fears were assuaged almost immediately. "I was blown away by how good it was," Scott said. "I watched both of those opening episodes twice. They're just amazing. The storytelling is as good as 'Breaking Bad.' The acting is incredible. I just think it's an incredibly exciting time for television and movies."

Scott
via Tumblr

It's a pretty great time for Scott as well. He stars in this week's "Hot Tub Time Machine 2," ostensibly replacing original lead John Cusack as the fourth member in a gang of ne'er-do-well time travelers (played by Clark Duke, Craig Robinson and Rob Corddry).

"It was Clark Duke's idea," Scott said of joining the unlikely franchise. "He told me there was a role in it. Steve Pink, the director, called me and pitched me the idea for the movie. It ended up being completely different than what it was. I just said yes, which is a really stupid thing to do. But I knew Clark, Craig, Rob and Steve, and I just thought it sounded really fun. It was like going to summer camp with your friends in New Orleans. And when the script did arrive, it was hilarious."

Set in both a perverted present day (where Google has been replaced by Lougle and Lisa Loeb is a cat wrangler) and 2025, "Hot Tub Time Machine 2" is a murder mystery, of sorts. Scott plays the son of Cusack's character, a naive straight-arrow who breaks out of his shell in increasingly outlandish ways.

"When it's a really big world for someone and just every day is a discovery, there's a lot of funny there," Scott said of his penchant for playing unworldly characters. "Mostly because the world can be a dark place. To watch someone's innocence be broken is fun to watch."

Scott also got to exhibit his fair share of naïveté as Ben Wyatt on "Parks and Recreation." That series comes to an end next week, but if the 41-year-old actor has his way, it won't be the last time he's on a television show.

"I definitely want to do another one. I don't know what -- comedy or something else -- but I'm just taking my time to find something interesting. But I definitely want to find another show." Might we suggest "Better Call Saul"?

Def Leppard's Joe Elliott: We'd 'Politely Refuse' Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

Nominate Def Leppard for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and you'd most likely receive a "no, thank you."

The band's lead singer Joe Elliot told HuffPost Live's Ricky Camilleri on Wednesday that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is "nice but not that important." Elliot said he's more interested in the opinion of his fans, who he says don't get a large say in who is inducted.

"The biggest compliment I ever got was my first ... platinum disk because it's a representation of 1 million people who've bought your album, and those million mean a lot more to me than some people that decide whether you fit for the Hall of Fame," Elliot said.

While Def Leppard has yet to be inducted, Elliott said he could name 100 other artists "more important" than those who have been recognized.

"In fact, we've kind of all decided that even if we get asked we're just going to -- how can I put this? -- politely refuse, like the Sex Pistols did," Elliot said. "Unless there was some sort of online campaign by our fans cause they were annoyed with us."

Neill Blomkamp Is Making His 'Alien' Sequel After All

Eight days ago, "District 9" director Neill Blomkamp said that 20th Century Fox would make an "Alien" sequel with him "tomorrow." Turns out he was just one week off. On Wednesday, Blomkamp announced via Instagram that his "Alien" sequel was officially in the work. Fox will release the film, with original "Alien" director Ridley Scott acting as producer.

In January, Blomkamp released a bunch of concept art from an "Alien" sequel he had been working on during downtime from editing "Chappie," his next film "I've been wanting to make an 'Alien' film for like years and years," Blomkamp told Uproxx in an interview last week.

But in the past, Blomkamp expressed disdain for tackling pre-existing franchises.

"I don't know if me getting involved with a franchise is the best thing for me," he said in a 2013 interview. "When studios smell franchises, they smell money. And they'll try to do what they can to the franchise to make it make the most money it can make, and a lot of those interesting ideas kind of fall by the side of the road."

When his previous worldview was broached during the interview with Uproxx, Blomkamp acknowledged that it was something on his mind. "If it's going to happen, it has to be on my terms," he said of the "Alien" film. "So, I came up with it and I'm bringing this to [them]. It's not like, 'Would you like to do Spider-Man 36?'"

As Variety notes, the film will likely occur after the events of "Prometheus 2," a sequel to the "Alien" spinoff "Prometheus." According to Deadline.com, neither "Prometheus 2" nor Blomkamp's "Alien" film have a script just yet. It's also unclear if Weaver is attached to star.

Check out Blomkamp's Instagram announcement below.

Um... So I think it's officially my next film. #alien

Eddie Murphy Apparently Declined Offer To Play Bill Cosby On 'SNL 40'

Eddie Murphy's first appearance on "Saturday Night Live" in 30 years was awkward and stilted, but according to Norm Macdonald, it could have been a whole lot different. Over the course of several tweets posted on Wednesday, Macdonald explained that there was, at one point, the idea to include Murphy in the "SNL 40" version of "Celebrity Jeopardy" as Bill Cosby.

As Macdonald wrote, he was disappointed "Celebrity Jeopardy" had become about celebrity impressions for the "SNL 40" special. But writer Steve Higgins thought having Murphy mimic Cosby would help tie it all together. Wrote Macdonald:

Macdonald relayed a bunch of other anecdotes about the week, including that Bill Murray almost didn't make the show because of a golf tournament, before finishing out the Murphy story:

Without Murphy's involvement, the sketch wound up happening with Kenan Thompson in the role of Cosby.

Murphy and Cosby memorably crossed paths before. During the 1987 concert film "Raw," Murphy recalled how Cosby chastised him about using foul language in his stand-up routine.

Lady Gaga's engagement to Taylor Kinney wasn't the only surprise she shared with her Little Monsters this week. The pop singer also let fans in on the personal touch Kinney added to her engagement ring.

On Tuesday, Gaga posted a photo of the back of her ring on Instagram. Written in diamonds on the band is "T♥S" -- the "S" for Stefani, her real name.

"My favorite part of my engagement ring, Taylor and Lorraine [Schwartz] designed 'T♥S' in white diamonds on the band," she wrote. "He always called me by my birth name. Since our very first date. I'm such a happy bride-to-be! I can't stop smiling!!"

Now That 'Two And A Half Men' Is Over, Let's Focus On A Better Show

$

Nine million people still watch "Two and a Half Men," which will take its final bow on Thursday. The hourlong finale follows what is easily classified as a troubled, yet incredibly successful, sitcom. After premiering to 18 million viewers in 2003, the show became one of the past decade's two most-watched comedies (alongside "The Big Bang Theory," another show created by Chuck Lorre). It survived Charlie Sheen's outbursts and subsequent firing in 2011, netting 20 acting and three Outstanding Comedy Series nominations from the Emmys. Somewhere along the way, it also became the laughingstock of broadcast television.

It may seem, then, that "Two and a Half Men" is the most Chuck Lorre-esque sitcom that the mega-successful television veteran -- whose previous producing and writing credits include "Roseanne," "Cybil" and "Dharma & Greg" -- has masterminded. Like Norman Lear in the '70s, Lorre dominates today's broadcast-comedy landscape: In addition to "Two and a Half Men" and "The Big Bang Theory," he also writes and produces "Mike & Molly" and a show that may actually be the best thing his name has been attached to since "Roseanne": "Mom," with Anna Faris and Allison Janney.

Amid a comedy landscape that disparages most laugh-track sitcoms, "Mom" stands out as a rare gem, even if it's not much less one-note than "Two and a Half Men." Its central characters are a mother-daughter duo -- Bonnie (Janney) and Christy (Faris) -- who wade through sobriety after years of outlandish alcohol and drug use. Bonnie had Christy at a young age and wasn't an ideal parent; Christy would eventually become a teen mother, too. Now they attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings together and strive to redeem their relationship while their working-class lifestyles double as reminders of the debauchery they once knew. The punchlines are often familiar: onetime wild-child Bonnie does everything she can to reclaim her youthful self without succumbing to the addiction that plagued her, while Christy functions as the responsible half but labors to do the right thing for her two children. The jokes on "Two and a Half Men" were one-note, too, but that show had a distinct difference: no substance.

"Mom" manages to depict a true human struggle in a lighthearted manner, just like "Roseanne" and "Grace Under Fire" -- another Lorre series that chronicled a single mother turned recovering alcoholic -- did years before it. Where Lorre hit a dead end with "Two and a Half Men" was in shadowing rich, stubborn white men who contain no layers. At the center, initially, was a womanizing drunk whose awkward, divorced brother moves into his plush home, often flanked by his slacker preteen son. As the comedy vista matured in the early and mid-2000s, "Two and a Half Men" seemed to do the opposite, relying on increasingly shallow pratfalls and sexist undertones parlayed by dudes whose comedic prowess peaked in the 1980s. (That's Sheen and Jon Cryer, in case you weren't sure.) "Mom" does none of these things, and it's bolstered by two stars who are as winning as anything seen on the more cerebral comedies considered contemporary benchmarks. (To wit: Perennial Emmy favorite Allison Janney was widely favored to win Outstanding Supporting Actress last year, and indeed she deservingly prevailed.)

So, as the curtain at last falls on "Two and a Half Men" and its contentious final season, in which Cryer's heterosexual Alan married Ashton Kutcher's heterosexual Walden so the two can -- umm, what? -- adopt a child, don't let this blight on modern television act as a blinder. "Mom," currently in its second season, highlights its leads' talents, upholds feminist underpinnings and offers genuine laughs. It now airs right before "Two and a Half Men," on Thursdays at 8:30 p.m., but will move to the 9:30 p.m. slot after "The Odd Couple" premieres, meaning it's bookended by yet another show about shallow white men's pesudo-problems. Even if CBS doesn't know what to do with it, you should. "Mom" is a winner.

Lindsay Lohan is over New York and Los Angeles. It's all about London now.

The 28-year-old appears in the "We've Got Issues" issue of photographer Rankin's biannual publication, Hunger magazine. She moved to London last summer to perform in "Speed-the-Plow" at the Playhouse theatre, and has been loving life in the UK ever since.

"I came here for days and ended up staying for months, and now that I’m here I’m happy. I work more. I take better care of myself," she told Hunger. “I’m much happier here. I love New York too, but it’s too late for me. I’ve seen pretty much all there is to see. I don’t need to see it all over again ... The last time I went to LA it was my friend’s birthday and we went to this karaoke place. It was the same people, the same faces, nothing had changed. It felt very unevolved."

In a December interview with the Guardian, Lohan admitted she "needed to grow up." Getting far away from LA and NYC helped her do just that.

“I won’t live in LA again, hell no,” she said. “My friends tell me shit when they come over I don’t want to hear. I don’t even know who got married and who got pregnant. You turn on the news in LA and it is all gossip about people. All the stuff that is going on in the world right now and this gossip is the news? I love the BBC. I haven’t heard myself mentioned on TV since I have been here. That has been really weird for me, and great.”

5 Snubbed Stars, 5 Oscar "Sulk-ations"

Every year, some of Hollywood's biggest stars get snubbed during the film awards season. This year is no exception. Many believe Jennifer Aniston, Jake Gyllenhaal, Angelina Jolie and others were "robbed" of Academy Awards. That's why hotel search trivago.com is recommending places those forgotten few can hide from the spotlight and sulk in secret after the curtain falls on this weekend's ceremony.

JENNIFER ANISTON: The Resort Pedregal in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

THE SNUB - Despite Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and Critics' Choice Award nominations for Best Actress, Jennifer Aniston was ignored by the Academy Awards for her dramatic leading role in Cake. She has earned her "sulk-ation!"

SULK-ATION SPOT - Jennifer LOVES to spend her downtime in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, so we feel she would completely forget about the Oscar snub while vacationing at The Resort at Pedregal. The secluded and luxurious cliffside hideaway comes complete with private plunge pools, a full-service spa and personal assistants to cater to this overlooked actress's every whim.

DAVID OYELOWO: Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons in Oxford, UK

2015-02-18-david_vacation.jpg
© Adrian Houston and Paul Wilkinson

THE SNUB - David Oyelowo took home a Best Actor statue at the Golden Globe Awards for portraying Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma, but Oscar voters missed the memo on his highly-acclaimed performance.

SULK-ATION SPOT - "There's no place like home," right? That's why we believe Oyelowo should visit his hometown of Oxford, United Kingdom for a stay at the historic and enchanting Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons hotel. Quiet nights by a roaring fire, strolls through the English gardens and a meal at Chef Raymond Blanc's two Michelin Star restaurant are just what the doctor ordered.

AMY ADAMS: Grand Wailea Resort on Maui, Hawaii

2015-02-18-adams_vacation.jpg
© Grand Wailea Resort

THE SNUB - Amy Adams won the Best Actress award at the Golden Globes for her work in the film, Big Eyes, and was also nominated for a BAFTA - England's version of an Oscar -but that wasn't enough to earn her a golden statue.

SULK-ATION SPOT - Amy skipped out after a SAG Awards snub last year and spent the day at a California beach with her family instead. This year, we recommend a getaway to Grand Wailea Resort on Maui - a luxurious, beachfront Waldorf Astoria property with an on-site art museum, spa, 20,000-square-foot children's resort and views that would make anyone forget their troubles.

ANGELINA JOLIE: The Raj Palace in Jaipur, India

2015-02-18-jolie_vacation.jpg
© The Raj Palace

THE SNUB - Angelina Jolie has been nominated for five acting Oscars during her career, but that wasn't enough to convince the Academy that she was worthy of a nomination for Best Director for her work on the wartime drama, Unbroken.

SULK-ATION SPOT - With six children and a superstar husband by her side, Mrs. Jolie-Pitt needs plenty of space for her awards season escape and the Maharajah's Pavilion at the Raj Palace Hotel in Jaipur, India definitely fits the bill. The ultra-luxurious private four-floor, four bedroom, 16,000-square-foot apartment is the largest suite in Asia and includes a library and study area for the kids, and a private bar, swimming pool and spa.

JAKE GYLLENHAAL: Rayavadee Hotel in Ao-Nang, Thailand

2015-02-18-jake_vacation.jpg
© Rayavadee Hotel

THE SNUB - Jake Gyllenhaal's work in Nightcrawler earned him SAG, BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations, along with critical praise, but instead of an Oscar he's earned a break from Tinseltown.

SULK-ATION SPOT - Seclusion is key when escaping the paparazzi and the Rayavadee Hotel on the edge of Krabi Marine National Park in Thailand offers that in spades. Accessible only by boat, the luxury hotel is surrounded by palms, tropical gardens and coconut forests and even features a restaurant tucked inside a limestone cave on its white sand beach. It's a perfect retreat for an avid surfer with a severe case of disappointment.
