Lindsay Lohan Is Officially 'Glee'-Bound

Lindsay Lohan is officially Gleeking out, despite her previous issues with the show.

The actress' rep Steve Honig has confirmed to People magazine that she will be guest starring on this season of Fox's hit "Glee."

Though there is no confirmation on what role Lohan will play, rumor has it she will appear as herself as a celebrity judge at the glee club Nationals competition. Lohan joins other upcoming "Glee" guest stars for Season 3, including Whoopi Goldberg, "White Collar" star Matt Bomer and Gloria Estefan.

Lohan's McKinley High stint won't be her first recent television appearance. The actress made her attempted comeback hosting "Saturday Night Live" at the beginning of the month, where she poked fun at her criminal record in her opening monologue.

But will similar jokes get the green light on the Fox musical dramedy? It depends on Lohan's willingness to accept a second apology. On one late 2010 episode, in which Gwyneth Paltrow played Spanish teacher Holly Holliday, she quizzed the class on pop culture in Spanish: "Lindsey [sic] Lohan is totally crazy, right?" ... "How many times has Lindsay Lohan been to rehab?" Lohan's mother and long-time manager Dina was not pleased, but the actress herself reportedly accepted an apology from the New Directions during a chance run-in.

Not long after, however, in "Glee's" 2011 Super Bowl episode, guest star Katie Couric joked that Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) beat out Dina Lohan and her fictional dog, Sparky Lohan for the "Loser of the Year" award, which had Dina upset again.

Is Lindsay's guest spot finally going to be a truce in the "Glee" versus Lohan family feud?

PHOTO: James Franco's 'Spring Breakers' Character Is Based On Rapper Riff Raff

Selena Gomez tweeted yet another photo from the set of "Spring Breakers," but this time we got our first look at James Franco dressed as his drug-dealing character.

If Franco looks strangely familiar with his cornrows and bad facial hair, it's because he's supposed to. The 33-year-old wasn't the first choice for the part, based on rapper Riff Raff, the Houston MC who was featured on MTV's "From G's to Gents" and is now signed to Soulja Boy's record label.

Riff Raff told Fuse that the film's director, Harmony Korine, asked him to be in the film but he was out of the country.

"The role I would have played would be like a drug dealer, or the friend of a drug dealer, Gucci Mane," Riff Raff explained, adding that Franco was already attached to the movie and slated for a different role. "But I was supposed to be in there also. Now James Franco is playing me."

And there's a good reason that Franco looks so much like the rapper -- he's wearing his clothes. "I sent him a few things. But all you gotta do [to see how I dress] is search through my videos. I got a pretty distinct style, with the braids, the jewelry," he told Fuse.

In the film, Franco plays a rapping drug dealer named Alien, who bails out a group of hard-partying college girls (Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson and Vanessa Hudgens) after they rob a fast-food restaurant, and entices them to kill his arch-rival, according to Collider.

Raven Symone Shows Off Legs

Raven Symone was looking quite leggy at her "Sister Act" Broadway debut Tuesday night. After nailing her performance in the hit Great White Way musical, Symone showed up at New York's Dream Hotel for a fete celebrating her opening night.

The actress, who's looking like half the "That's So Raven" Disney star she used to be, showed off her weight loss in a striped micro-mini dress, leather jacket, yellow scarf ... and two different colored shoes.

We're assuming that Symone's odd footwear choice is a fashion statement rather than a case of a missing mate. Either way, Symone stole the show on-stage and on the red carpet.

How does Raven stack up in our battle of celebrity legs?

LONDON — Records show Amy Winehouse left an estate worth 2.94 million pounds ($4.66 million)) after her death last year.

The 27-year-old soul diva was found dead in bed on July 23 at her London home.

Probate documents showed Wednesday that she left behind assets totaling more than 4.25 million pounds ($6.7 million), with 2.94 million pounds ($4.66 million) remaining after debts and taxes.

Since Winehouse did not leave a will, the money will go to her parents. The documents list father Mitch Winehouse as administrator of the singer's estate. Nothing goes to her ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, whom she divorced in 2009.

Winehouse shot to fame with her 2006 album "Back to Black," but struggled for years with drug and alcohol abuse. An inquest found she died of accidental alcohol poisoning.

WATCH: Peter Cook Calls Christie Brinkley A Liar

Peter Cook is firing back after ex-wife Christie Brinkley's tearful "Today" show appearance Tuesday -- speaking out in a "Today" show interview of his own.

In Brinkley's interview Tuesday, the 58-year-old supermodel told Matt Lauer that she felt compelled to speak out after enduring two weeks of "character assassination" by Cook, tearfully adding, "I just want peace and every time I have any joy he has to try to destroy it."

On Wednesday, Cook, 53, sat down for an interview with the "Today" show's Savannah Guthrie to rebuke his ex wife's claim.

"The entire content of her interview was a lie where she claims that I am harassing and bullying her on a daily basis," he said, "I need you to know that we haven't had a conversation in four a half years and we haven't emailed each other directly in two years, so this perception that I'm harassing and bullying her is nonsense."

Cook called Brinkley out for shedding "crocodile tears," adding that ever since the pair separated, Brinkley has been "on a campaign to smear me. There is no Peter Cook press machine. I have no interest in the press. I'm not a celebrity. You don't hear about Peter Cook until Christie Brinkley dredges something up from the past to make herself relevant in the media again."

Cook also released a statement to the The New York PostWednesday in which he called his ex wife's "Today" show appearance a "cunning and shameless display."

But in spite of their much-publicized legal battle -- and dueling interviews -- Cook and Brinkley can at least agree on one thing: they both claim to "want peace."

"I want peace for my family," Cook said on "Today." "I want peace for myself. I want to be able to do my job, see my kids and live without the Christie Brinkley shadow over me. That's all I ask."

Brinkley and Cook called off their 12-year marriage in 2008 after Cook admitting to having an affair with an 18-year-old woman. Their split landed back in the spotlight earlier this month when Cook appeared on a number of television shows to counter Brinkley's claims that he owes her child support for their two children and has sent her "inflammatory" emails.

Is LeAnn Rimes Hiding A Baby Bump?

Oh, to be a fly on that electromagnetic wall.

Just this week, speculation as to whether or not LeAnn Rimes was expecting a baby kicked into high gear thanks no doubt to the one-two media punch of hubby Eddie Cibrian's artful and seemingly unnecessary dodging of a direct pregnancy question posed to him by a reporter, and the fact that it's been a lifetime (at the very least, a week, which only seems like a lifetime) since LeAnn has dared to bare her bikini bod.

5 'Fashion Star' Questions We Want Answered

$
0
0

As a longtime fan of "Project Runway," I was so happy when NBC finally decided to launch their own clothing design competition series, "Fashion Star" (Tuesdays, 10 p.m. ET). But now, three weeks into the first season, I've got some major questions about "Fashion Star" that still haven't been answered, and I know I'm not alone.

Each week, the "Fashion Star" designers present three seasonal looks with some design advice from mentors Jessica Simpson, John Varvatos and Nicole Richie. Then the ultimate win-or-lose decision comes from the buyers of the show's three retail partners, Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue and H&M, who can choose to place an order with each designer or not. The clothing from the designers who receive orders is online right after the show airs, and in stores the following day; the designers with no orders placed are up for elimination. Simple enough, right? Wrong.

The show was shot quite a while ago, so any obvious necessary tweaks likely won't get made until Season 2 (I imagine a spinning stage to make turning from the mentors to the buyers even more dramatic). But there are a few things that NBC and host Elle Macpherson need to explain a little better -- or at all -- to make the rest of this season must-see TV. Here, five "Fashion Star" questions we'd like answers to.

1. What do the weekly order prices really mean?
When a designer makes a sale, they're understandably excited; but it's unclear if a higher sale price actually makes a difference for them, beyond bragging rights. Is all of that money going to production, or do they get a percentage? When asked for clarification from executive producer Ben Silverman or anyone from the show's Magical Elves production company, NBC declined to share specifics. "It is a business deal that we aren't sharing unfortunately." What? Why? It's hard to get excited about these weekly wins for the designers if it's not clear what the dollar amounts mean, or how it will play into their ultimate success on the show. Speaking of which ...

2. What is the ultimate prize?
Host Elle Macpherson starts each show reminding us that the contestants are "still in the race to have their very own collection worth $6 million, sitting on the shelves of Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue and H&M." But what exactly does that mean? That's another question NBC isn't willing to answer. We get that the collection will be worth $6 million dollars, but again, what do the designers actually get, monetarily, if anything?

The show's Web site clarifies that there will only be one final winner -- not three, one for each retailer, as I'd originally thought: "In the end, one designer will successfully combine fashion and business to become the next Fashion Star and will receive the prize of a lifetime -- $6,000,000 in orders for capsule collections in Macy's, H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue stores." So does that mean all three retailers have to agree on the winner (see more on this in the next question)? And does that mean that the winner's designs will definitely appear in all three stores?

Going back to the successful "Project Runway" model that started it all, that show makes a point to repeat the prizes at least three times an episode -- during opening credits, when the designers are given their challenges and again before the final runway -- because it's that important. Otherwise how will viewers know what the stakes are?

3. Will selling to every store make you more likely to win it all?
If a designer's aesthetic is completely in line with one retailer, and not the other two, is that such a bad thing? Obviously the designers all want the most exposure possible, so getting sold in all three retailers would be a huge deal, but is it factoring into their final judgement? Sarah Parrott's maxi dress got a $50,000 order from H&M this week, making this her third week in a row to be ordered by H&M. That seems like a big win, but during consulting she seemed concerned. "I was bought twice, but I have only been bought from H&M," Parrott said. "At the end of the day, you want a collection in every store, so I need to start working on every store."

We know versatility as a designer is key, but will someone who's sold every single week to one retailer be considered less successful in this competition than someone who has only sold a few times, but has been ordered by all three retailers at least once? That's unclear, and that's an issue. Plus, considering the drastically different price points for the three retailers (H&M winning designs range from $19.95 to $29.95; Macy's from $59 to $110; and Saks from $225 to $350), how will that work?

4. Why doesn't each designer get equal air time?
The format of "Fashion Star" is interesting enough, if not a little frenetic. But that's a simple fix -- my advice would be to follow the process through in the same way for each designer or group of designers instead of trying to mix it up. Ross Bennett made his first sale this week, but viewers only got to see his group's show, critique and orders in quick recap format. Granted, he was the only designer to get an order in his group, but so was Orly Shani in her group and we spent plenty of time with her, even getting to see her family in the audience. We also got a little show from LMFAO, which was fun for fans, I'm sure, but not why they're tuning in at the end of the day. If you want to make this a fair competition, cut the filler and give everyone equal air time.

5. How are the winning clothes selling in stores?
Poor Elle Macpherson has been saddled with quite a bit of information to share each week, and again, we know she'll never be too specific since A) The details of the final prize are apparently some big NBC secret, and B) These were all pre-taped so sales analysis for the previous weeks wasn't available then. But would it kill the show to replace some of the less necessary elements (the Elle Macpherson fashion shows, LMFAO concerts and trapeze artists, for example) to maybe add in a recap of the previous week's sales, show some video of how the clothes looked in-store and maybe tell us which ones have sold out and which are still for sale, and for how much? I'm not a producer, but that seems like 60 seconds of programming put to very good use, reminding viewers that these winning designs really are being produced.

I'd also personally love to see a quick tag on the end of each episode explaining what happens next, what colors will be sold in store and what changes, if any, will be made to the final garments. It's so nice, as a viewer, to see the design process, even for only a minute, but the retailer consultations and modifications also seem like a key part of the process. Orly Shani's colorblocked jersey sheath dress started a bidding war between Macy's and Saks, driving the order price up to an impressive $120,000 from Saks. It's now selling on the site for $295 in the bright orange color with the hot pink waistband, but that's without the "wow" pop of color contrast lining detail on the pockets (the pockets are non-existent, actually) and the back slit hem. Would those details have driven the price up to closer to $400 a dress? It's possible, but that's a note that viewers would benefit from hearing as much as the designers do.

What do you think of "Fashion Star" so far? Are there more questions you want answered? Chime in down in the comments.

"Fashion Star" airs Tuesdays, 10 p.m. ET on NBC.

Bradley Cooper, Zoe Salanda Split

Well, that was fast. Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana have reportedly called it quits after quietly dating for a few months.

A source revealed to Us Weekly that the actors are "definitely not together" but it's not surprising, considering they weren't seriously dating to begin with.

Rumors that Cooper and Saldana were an item started swirling in late 2011, when they were reportedly planning a trip to the Rockies together over New Year's Eve. The couple later hit up the Sunday Film Festival together to promote their movie, "The Words," but tried to keep all the romance rumors at bay.

However, it seems their short-lived relationship wasn't meant to last.

Cooper split from girlfriend Renee Zellweger in March 2011, while Saldana called it quits from her fiance Keith Britton in November after 11 years together.

For more on Cooper and Saldana's split, head over to Us Weekly.

Daryl Hannah: Politicians Are 'Cowards'

Actress Daryl Hannah criticized the lack of political dialogue on climate change Wednesday, especially from the Obama administration.

"Since when did science get so politicized?" Hannah said Wednesday at a trade show in Baltimore, Maryland, according to Get Energy Smart! NOW! "It isn’t like these scientists are pocketing money on climate science like political consultants are with Citizens United funds. Firemen don’t ask themselves whether a house is really burning when they see flames coming out the window and hear a child screaming. This is reality."

"They’re cowards," Hannah added, referring to politicians who fail to speak about the subject.

Hannah has a long history of environmental activism, including being arrested last year outside the White House while protesting the Keystone XL pipeline and calling on President Barack Obama to oppose the oil industry.

Matthew Weiner's Debut Feature To Star Zach Galifianakis And Owen Wilson

That's what the money is for! After years of fits and starts, Variety reports that "Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner, with help from production company Gilbert Films, will make his feature directorial debut with "You Are Here." Owen Wilson and Zach Galifianakis are set to star, with Amy Poehler in negotiations to make an appearance as well.

If that doesn't sound like the type of cast you'd expect from the man who created Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, consider the plot of "You Are Here." According to a 2010 report from the website Pajiba, the film focuses on two 30-something ne'er-do-wells, who are startled out of their slacker existences when the father of one of the men dies, and leaves behind a small fortune.

Per THR, "You Are Here" follows "a weatherman who is dependent on a best friend for his good times. When the friend inherits a business and some land from his father, the weatherman is forced to get his own life in order."

Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis were originally rumored as stars, but delays forced both to drop out. Matt Dillon and Jack Black were also attached at one point. Poehler follows Jennifer Aniston and Renee Zellweger, who were also discussed for the film.

"This movie has been my passion for eight years and to see it come together with Owen and Zach and Amy is a dream come true," Weiner said to Variety. "I can't wait to get started because the movie is about everything I care about and I'm tired of reading it out loud to my friends."

'Dallas': Everybody Is Naked!

You're not dreaming: The cast of TNT's "Dallas" 2012 reboot is naked. Together.

In an homage to the famous shower scene during the original series' eighth season -- in which Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy), lathered up and greeted Pam, revealing all of Season 8 was a dream -- TNT had its stars, both new and old, strip down to towels to promote the show's revival.

TNT's "Dallas" picks up years after the original series ended. Original series stars Duffy, Larry Hagman and Linda Gray are joined by a new crop of young Hollywood actors including Jordana Brewster, Jesse Metcalfe and Josh Henderson. Metcalfe plays Christopher Ewing, the adopted son of Bobby and Pam. Henderson plays John Ross Ewing III, the son of J.R. (Hagman) and Sue Ellen (Gray) Ewing. Expect the younger Ewing boys to clash just as much as J.R. and Bobby did, and not just when it comes to oil.

"Dallas" premieres Wed., June 13, 9 p.m. ET on TNT.

Khloe Kardashian is blasting reports that her marriage to NBA player Lamar Odom is in trouble.

The 27-year-old reality star tweeted a link to a GossipCop article that called out a Star magazine report that her marriage to Odom was on the rocks. Star magazine had reported that Khloe is depressed because she hasn't been able to get pregnant and alleged that Odom cheated on her at a D.C. strip club when he " disappeared into a private room with a stripper."

"Save the drama for your mama baby! LOL," Khloe tweeted in response to the allegations. When a fan told Khloe how upset they were about the divorce rumors, she responded, " it shows you how sick people are. They would rather have pain then love ... Sad world."

Despite tying the knot after just a few weeks of dating, Khloe and Lamar celebrated their second anniversary in September and are believed to have one of Hollywood's strongest marriages.

Craft enthusiasts, prepare for battle. Tori Spelling will host and executive produce "Craft Wars," a new competition series on TLC.

"As a lifelong crafter, I love how crafting gives you the opportunity to reallyexpress yourself and show your creativity. It's an amazing outlet and nothing shows love more than something homemade," Spelling said in a statement. "I can't wait to share my passion and be inspired by all the amazing contestants."

Each episode of "Craft Wars" will pit three everyday crafters against each other in two rounds of challenges. Each round encompasses different genres of crafting. The 10-episode series started production in Los Angeles and is set for a June 26 premiere.

As part of her hosting duties, Spelling will act as a guide for the audience and a mentor to the contestants. The reality star has her own line of craft products, "The Tori Spelling Collection," and incorporated her skills in a new party planning book, "CelebraTORI." The contestants will be judged by author and Glitterville Studios founder Stephen Brown, DIY lifestyle expert Erica Domesek and Michaels creative expert Jo Pearson.

"'Craft Wars' continues to re-define crafting as something extremely modern -- this is not your grandmother's crocheting," Amy Winter, GM of TLC, said in a statement. "At its core, the series celebrates the creative sprit, which will resonate with TLC's audience."

Spelling will also play host to "My Little Pony's" Royal Wedding.

Melinda Gates: TEDxChange: Looking Ahead to a Stellar Line-Up

With only a few days to go, I’m eagerly anticipating TEDxChange: The Big Picture and putting the finishing touches on my talk. The TEDx speakers I have watched online this year have certainly set a high bar.

This close to an event, it’s always a little nerve-wracking. But there’s no greater honor than to take to the stage alongside a line-up of individuals from around the globe for whom I have such great respect. This year’s speakers are all unique in their talents and perspectives, but they also have much in common: a strong belief in our ability to change the world for good and some ideas about how we might do it.

First, we’ll hear from Jeff Chapin of IDEO. Jeff will challenge our assumptions on design and give us a flavor of his experience of seeking market-based solutions to the sanitation challenges of Cambodia.

We will then welcome a voice from our host nation, Germany -- Sven Giegold, member of the European Parliament. With a history of advocating for the green industry, Sven will talk about how the actions of individuals and communities can triumph against the odds.

2012-03-29-5020864597_abbb4ed049_b.jpg

For those left wondering about what became of Salim and Sikha, our Revolutionary Optimists, we’ll be hearing what they have been up to since 2010, before Theo Sowa takes the stage. As the Director of the African Women’s Development Fund, Theo meets many awe-inspiring women from across Sub-Saharan Africa. Drawing on stories from her youth, as well as her professional experience in refugee camps, remote farming communities and conference centers, she will raise important questions about what it means to be an African woman.

Next, we are privileged to hear from the talented Baaba Maal. Having used his voice to such powerful effect, inspiring music-lovers in his home country of Senegal and around the world, Baaba will perform live at Trafo.

After that stellar line-up, the time will come for me to share an idea that is very close to my heart and which I believe has the power to change our world.

Do join us online to take a step back and look at The Big Picture (April 5th / 5:30 p.m. CEST). I can’t wait to hear your reactions and responses.

Gillian Anderson Wants To Believe Again

Gillian Anderson isn't quite done with "The X-Files."

While promoting "Great Expectations" (April 1 and 8 on PBS), Anderson said she hasn't turned her back on Agent Dana Scully and the franchise that launched her career.

"If a good script comes along for another film, then I’m up for it and so is David [Duchovny]," Anderson told The Daily Beast. Along with her former co-star, Anderson said series creator Chris Carter is game for another "X-Files" movie.

"I don’t see any reason not to do it if the script is good and Fox wants to go ahead and put the money behind it," she said. However, Anderson said she's unaware if Fox is even interested in a third "X-Files" flick. But if they were, she said, "I’d be up for it."

Anderson also told Vulture that once upon a time she'd have even poked fun at "The X-Files."

"At one point, at a certain time, I would have definitely been up for spoofing 'The X-Files' -- back when people would have given a shit," she said. "You know, like an 'Airplane' version. That would have been really funny."

While that ship may have sailed, Anderson is taking part in something else that should please fans of "The X-Files": a reunion. Anderson, Duchovny and Carter will reunite on Fox's 25th anniversary special.

Scully aside, Anderson has also been getting a lot of attention for a role she didn't take: Lady Cora Crawley on "Downton Abbey." Anderson told TV Guide she was offered the role, but turned it down. "They're still mad at me,” Anderson told The Daily Beast about her decision. "Every time I see ['Downton Abbey' creator] Julian Fellowes, he says, 'Why?' I'm very finicky," she said.

From David Schwimmer's massive East Village (de)construction to Jeremy Lin's move from couch to fancy W Hotel apartment, the city is constantly proving to be filled with celebrity residences in virtually every neighborhood.

Ever wonder how your humble, New York City abode compares to the lodgings of the rich and famous? After all, you may live on the same street as say, Dakota Fanning or Robin Williams, but that sure doesn't mean your rental price tags are in the same ballpark.

BuzzFeed recently captured a similar schism between New Yorker's naive, wide-eyed expectations when they first move to the city and cruel reality.

Here to put things in perspective is a handy map from Rentenna:

Earnest Winborne: WATCH: The Black Gay Community Speaks Out On The Trayvon Martin Killing

Trayvon Martin was on everyone's minds at the ninth annual Outfest Fusion: LGBT People of Color Film Festival in Hollywood. At this year's event, director Lee Daniels was on hand to honor Noah's Arc creator Patrik-Ian Polk, who earlier spoke out about the unfolding tragedy surrounding 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. The teen was allegedly shot and killed by George Zimmerman in what many believe was a hate-motivated crime.

We wanted to know what the black LGBT community had to say about the Trayvon Martin case. Mark Noble reports in this NoMoreDownLow.TV newsbreak (transcript below):

Transcript:

Jennia Fredrique, who stars in upcoming feature The Skinny, told us, "This is a red carpet. The girl that threw flour on Kim Kardashian was arrested immediately... Zimmerman is still walking the streets."

Standing up for what you believe in was the theme at the ninth annual Outfest Fusion LGBT People of Color Film Festival's closing gala.

Patrik-Ian Polk said, "I've been thinking about this story since it broke, and the national media wasn't on it. I was tweeting my friends at CNN and MSNBC to get involved, get involved, and I'm really glad the story finally got everyone's attention."

And getting everyone's attention is exactly what's happened since the national media began focusing on the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. From Sanford, Fla. to Los Angeles, people have taken to the streets with cries for justice.

Jennifer DeClue, Outfest Fusion programmer, said, "Today in Hollywood there was a protest march that I saw in Trayvon Martin's honor. So I'm encouraged, and I'm hopeful."

Lee Daniels said, "Being a black filmmaker is really, really hard work, and being a gay black filmmaker is close to impossible."

And on this night, director Patrik-Ian Polk, best known for his box-office features and television shows such as Punks and Noah's Arc, was being honored with the Fusion Award of Achievement for standing up and presenting positive images of same-gender-loving people of color.

Lee Daniels said, "Having the balls to tell gay stories in cinema, the way Patrik Polk has done, is inspiring to me, because I don't have those balls yet. I'm growing them, though."

Precious director Lee Daniels was on hand to do the honors.

Patrik Ian-Polk said, "It's so amazing to have giant footprints like yours to step in, and so I'm so appreciative to be honored in this way."
