Justin Bieber's New Single, 'Boyfriend,' Is Released

Justin Bieber's new single, "Boyfriend," dropped at midnight Monday, and the track was -- unsurprisingly -- everywhere shortly thereafter.

The single off the pop prince's upcoming album, Believe, hit iTunes shortly after the clock struck 12. Biebs himself was in fine form on Twitter, whipping his nearly 19 million followers into a frenzy with a countdown to the moment of truth.

Mike Posner came in big on production for Bieber, and is credited as a co-writer on the track. Bieber recently told USA Today that he sees Believe as an opportunity to present a more mature version of himself to his fans. "I'm maturing, and my music's maturing, so I wanted to do something different," he said.

A recent Complex cover shoot showed a tougher side of the sweet-voiced Usher prodigy. The magazine showed Bieber bloodied and on the receiving end of a few hits as part of their feature (click through for the photos).

The song does sound like radio gold, and it's nice to see Bieber referencing his "swag" multiple times throughout the song (and prepping listeners for his falsetto before it hits their eardrums). The fact that the 18-year-old phenom is dating Selena Gomez in real life, however, adds a certain boyish charm to the track (see the lyrics at the bottom of this article).

What do you think of the track? Let us know in the comments.

Simon's Home Intruder Shock

Simon Cowell was left shocked and frightened after finding a woman armed with a brick in his house on Saturday night.

The music mogul likened the incident to a "horror movie" after discovering the stranger in his bathroom.

Simon was relaxing at home after watching his Britain's Got Talent show take on BBC rivals The Voice, and was set to view his own appearance on Jonathan Ross when he heard noises from his house.

His spokesperson, Max Clifford, says: "There was a loud bang and Simon rushed upstairs to find out what was going on. It came from the bathroom so he went in - and there was a woman standing there holding a brick. She had smashed her way in through the window and it was unclear how long she had been there or what she was doing. It was a very frightening experience for Simon, who told me it was like something from a horror movie. He was just very lucky that all she had was a brick. She could have had a knife, a gun or any other weapon."

Leanne Zaloumis was apprehended by members of Simon's security team, and is currently being held in custody by police, while The X Factor mogul is now beefing up security at his lavish London home, reports The Sun.

It's the latest security scare that has left him shaken - in 2008 he discovered a tracking device under his car and a listening bug in the Britain's Got Talent studio around the same time.

James Cameron's Big Dive

HONOLULU — Hollywood icon James Cameron has completed his journey to Earth's deepest point.

The director of "Titanic," "Avatar" and other films used a specially designed submarine to dive nearly seven miles. He spent time exploring and filming the Mariana Trench, about 200 miles southwest of the Pacific island of Guam, according to members of the National Geographic expedition.

Cameron returned to the surface of the Pacific Ocean on Monday morning local time, Sunday evening on the U.S. East Coast, according to Stephanie Montgomery of the National Geographic Society.

He spent a little more than three hours under water after reaching a depth of 35,756 feet before he began his return to the surface, according to information provided by the expedition team. He had planned to spend up to six hours on the sea floor.

Cameron's return aboard his 12-ton, lime-green sub called Deepsea Challenger was a "faster-than-expected 70-minute ascent," according to National Geographic.

There were no immediate reports regarding Cameron's well-being. A medical team was present when Cameron, 57, emerged from the sub, according to the expedition.

Expedition physician Joe MacInnis told National Geographic News before the journey that recent test dives, including one that went more than five miles deep, had gone well and that he expected Cameron would be fine.

"Jim is going to be a little bit stiff and sore from the cramped position, but he's in really good shape for his age, so I don't expect any problems at all," said MacInnis, a long-time Cameron friend, according to National Geographic.

The scale of the trench is hard to grasp – it's 120 times larger than the Grand Canyon and more than a mile deeper than Mount Everest is tall.

"It's really the first time that human eyes have had an opportunity to gaze upon what is a very alien landscape," said Terry Garcia, the National Geographic Society's executive VP for mission programs, via phone from Scotland.

Swiss engineer Jacques Piccard and Don Walsh, a U.S. Navy captain, are the only others to reach the spot. They spent about 20 minutes there during their 1960 dive but couldn't see much after their sub kicked up sand from the sea floor.

One of the risks of a dive so deep was extreme water pressure. At 6.8 miles below the surface, the pressure is the equivalent of three SUVs sitting on your toe.

Cameron told The Associated Press in an interview after a 5.1 mile-deep practice run near Papua New Guinea earlier this month that the pressure "is in the back of your mind." The submarine would implode in an instant if it leaked, he said.

But while he was a little apprehensive beforehand, he wasn't scared or nervous while underwater.

"When you are actually on the dive you have to trust the engineering was done right," he said.

The film director has been an oceanography enthusiast since childhood and has made 72 deep-sea submersible dives. Thirty-three of those dives have been to the wreckage of the Titanic, the subject of his 1997 hit film, which is being released in a 3-D version next month.

'Q'Viva!': Marc Anthony Checks Out Dancer In Front Of J.Lo

The focus and point of "Q'Viva! The Chosen" (Sat., 8 p.m. ET on Fox) may be to find the best talent that Latin America has to offer, but there's been another underlying drama throughout the proceedings. Less evident because they were separated through much of the initial audition phase, the tension that builds between Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez during the second round is palpable.

Anthony and Lopez were freshly into a highly publicized separation, and while they played it mostly light, there were glimpses into the troubles that must have plagued their marriage. Anthony cracks a lot of jokes, and at times when Lopez wants him to take things more seriously.

When they agreed on one dance troupe, he said he wished they'd agreed more when they were married, but she reminded him that technically they still were. "Wow, so technically when we were married, we did agree at some point!"

And Anthony clearly has a wandering eye when it comes to appreciating the female form. After one dancer leaves the stage, he blatantly watches her saunter past and then keeps his eyes glued to her as she walks out of the room. The camera catches Lopez' priceless reaction to his lengthy stare.

"She has great assets," Anthony said after she'd left.

These moments are balanced with moments of genuine compassion for one another, as well as a clear commitment to the cause they are putting forth with "Q'Viva!" Nevertheless, it should be interesting to see how well they can maintain the current level of civility as the proceedings continue and the pressure and tension continues to rise.

"Q'Viva! The Chosen" continues every Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.

'Desperate Housewives': MJ Tries To Process Mike's Death

As Marc Cherry steers his "Desperate Housewives" (9 p.m. ET on ABC) closer to its series finale, fans are starting to notice a trend. Every week seems to be an emotional roller coaster leaving them in tears. Hopefully, the series will find some of its trademark humor before it wraps its run on May 13.

For now, though, everyone is still dealing with the shocking death of Mike Delfino two weeks ago. This week, it was a gut-wrenching moment for Susan as their young son tried to process the overwhelming grief he's feeling, and the massive loss he can but scarcely comprehend. Susan helped him channel his grief into art, which proved beneficial.

Other happenings on Wisteria Lane saw Lynette try, and fail, to trick Tom back into her life, Gaby score a job as a personal shopper and Bree move one step closer to getting caught. Hollywood Life predicts she'll be "watching the series finale from a jail cell."

The final season of "Desperate Housewives" continues Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

Restaurant Names 'Black & Bleu' Sandwich After Rihanna, Chris Brown

A Georgia restaurant named Chops & Hops came under fire this weekend after promoting a sandwich that its owners suggested was inspired by singer Chris Brown's 2009 assault against former girlfriend Rihanna, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

According to the paper, an affiliate of the Watkinsville, GA restaurant tweeted a photo of what they called the "Caribbean Black and Bleu" sandwich, announcing that “@chrisbrown, @rihanna and us teamed up for a award winning celebrity sandwich.”

“Chris Brown won’t beat you up for eating this unless your name starts with a R and ends with A,” the tweet said, though it appears to have been removed from the restaurant's Twitter account.

In response to criticism that the menu item was in poor taste, the restaurant pulled the sandwich and issued a statement on its Facebook page, denouncing domestic violence and touting its support of an advocacy group called Project Safe Team 6.

The owners of C&H would like to make sure everyone knows that we and our staff DO NOT SUPPORT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. Many of us have been affected by domestic violence in some manner and realize that this is no joke. We have been involved in fundraising for Project Safe Team 6 and we fully intend on donating proceeds (times 6 - in honor of Team 6) from the sales of the burger. C&H continues to strive for a community driven, family oriented, great food and great service environment. We will continue to be involved in our community fundraising and charities near and dear to our hearts. Mychell Lang

Rihanna and Chris Brown sparked controversy last month when they paired up to perform songs from each other's albums, a move Rihanna later called "innocent" in an interview with radio host Ryan Seacrest.

Rihanna further spun the rumor mill, raising questions about a possible romantic reunion with Brown, when she reportedly took to Twitter to launch a series of attacks on his current girlfriend, Karrueche Tran.

WATCH: Madonna's Huge Surprise Appearance

Madonna is pulling out all the stops in advance of her new album's release. The singer took to the stage Saturday at Miami's Ultra Music Festival, one of the biggest electronic dance music events in the United States.

"How many people in this crowd have seen molly?" Madge asked the crowd before introducing Avicii, the night's headlining act. "Molly" is the slang term for MDMA, or ecstasy, a drug that's popular among rave goers.

Avicii, the 22-year-old house music phenom behind the cross-genre hit song "Levels," then debuted a new remix of "Girl's Gone Wild," a new cut of Madonna's upcoming album, MDNA.

The album is due out in stores Monday, and the pop icon's surprise appearance at an event that was not only attended by as many as 150,000 dance music fans but simultaneously streamed online certainly can't hurt sales.

"I've been here in spirit for many years, but it's good to finally be standing on the stage, looking at all you people who have come here from all around the world," she added. "In my world the words 'music' and 'dance' are not separated. Electronic music has been a part of my life since the beginning of my career. I can honestly say that a DJ saved my life."

While the fact that she showed up in person was unexpected, Madonna's ties to the electronic dance community span decades. The entirety of her catalogue has a strong electro current running through it, and classics like "Vogue" still fit comfortably in any contemporary DJ's set. For MDNA, Madonna even corralled French house music producer Martin Solveig (of "Hello" fame) to provide the instrumentals for a number of songs.

Just last week, Madge released the visuals for "Girls Gone Wild." The video begins with Madonna reciting the Catholic Act of Contrition, a prayer of repentance, and quickly moves to a group of nearly-naked male dancers grinding up on the singer. Later, one dancer dons a crown of thorns.

YouTube put an age restriction on the video, a move which Madonna brushed aside as petty in a live chat with Jimmy Fallon. "I'm supposed to be a girl gone wild in the video," she said. "How could you go wild and not grind? This is the question that people should be asking."

So far, the album has received mixed reviews. Entertainment Weekly called it "exhausting," bashing tracks such as "I Don't Give A" as "ridiculous." Still, it's unlikely that the queen of pop's album will be a total flop.

And with song titles like "I F----d Up," at least she's still making waves.

How did Madonna do at Ultra? Watch her performance below and let us know what you think in the comments.

Phaedra Parks Gives Ayden A Hollywood-Inspired Dedication On 'RHOA'

If fans thought twelve cakes was a bit of overkill for a one-year birthday party last week on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" (Sun., 9 p.m. ET on Bravo), they hadn't seen anything yet. Phaedra Parks outdid herself with little Ayden's blessing ceremony this week. The idea was to make it like a page out of royalty, but it turned out to be more like a page out of a screenplay.

The screenplay to Eddie Murphy's "Coming to America" to be exact. Before the ceremony, she got princely pictures of the festivities, which was a good idea because at one year old, Ayden isn't going to remember any of this. The proceedings then mimicked almost exactly scenes from "Coming to America," which was incredibly over the top, but probably a good time nevertheless.

Phaedra and the rest of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" are on every Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

"I don't particularly like the Super Bowl song," Ciccone says of "Give Me All Your Luvin'," Madonnas new single. "I love my sister, but the new stuff doesn't do anything for me." He also shares his thoughts on the endless debate: Lady Gaga vs. Madonna. "Look, there are a great deal of similarities that [Lady Gaga] lifted from our shit. That's fine, because we were working from inspiration from other people from the '20s and '30s when we were doing stuff together, so as far as originality is concerned, you know, we tried to make it our own."

'Mad Men' Premiere Posts Series-High Ratings

So much for the theory that TV viewers would forget all about "Mad Men" after the show's lengthy hiatus.

The critically-acclaimed ad drama's two-hour Season 5 premiere posted its strongest ratings ever on Sunday night, attracting 3.5 million viewers, a 41 percent increase over last season's premiere episode, according to AMC.

"Mad Men" has steadily built its audience over time. The Season 4 premiere brought in 2.9 million viewers, while Season 3 debuted to 2.8 million. The show's Season 2 premiere notched just over 2 million viewers.

While the numbers represent the strongest ratings showing in "Mad Men" history, they don't come close to matching those of AMC's biggest smash hit, zombie thriller "The Walking Dead," which became the network's highest-rated original broadcast ever by bringing in 9 million viewers for its Season 2 finale.

HuffPost TV critic Maureen Ryan revelled in getting to spend time with the show's cast of characters again. , "Sure, nothing cataclysmic happened in the season premiere ... But so what? Surely there are big events to come, and, as has happened in every other 'Mad Men' season premiere, no doubt things were set in motion that will continue to play out for the next 11 hours of the show's fifth season."

The singer, who recently released her video for her new single "Part of Me," told MTV News that fans can expect to see things from a "best friend/buddy perspective."

"You're going to see exactly what I mean and feel and think about everything," she said. But don't expect to see any cheesy, quintessential 3D graphics.

"Listen, I've [worked on] most of this film for a very long time and the word 'cheap' was not in the vocabulary," she told MTV. "But, hello, it's 3-D. You're going to get hit with a lot of sh--."

Perry recently released "Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection," which includes her new single "Part of Me." The song debuted at the Billboard Hot 100's top spot in February, after she premiered the track at the Grammys.

"Dancing With the Stars" co-host and one-time contestant Brooke Burke stopped by "Rachael Ray" (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) and wasn't shy about sizing up the current crop of competitors.

"Even if [William Levy] couldn't dance, which the guy can dance -- just bonus right there -- he's just beautiful and amazing," Burke said. "I think Jaleel really came out and surprised everyone ... There were so many great people."

Burke has co-hosted "Dancing With the Stars" since 2010. She competed on the series in 2008 and took home the Mirrorball trophy for Season 7 and told Ray if there was an all-star season, she wants in.

"100 percent yes," Burke said when asked if she'd hit the dancefloor again. "I haven't danced ballroom since I left the show, I would love to. And being on the show, it just makes me wants to dance again."

Did Dave Chappelle Join Twitter?

$
0

UPDATE: Are you ready for this? Dave Chappelle's Twitter account is now officially verified, but not under the handle he previously used.

Before the real Chappelle started tweeting, an imposter had already claimed the handle @DaveChappelle, so he created his own handle, @ChappelleDavidK. Shortly after being endorsed by Aziz Ansari, Neal Brennan and more, the original, albeit fake account, @DaveChappelle, was disabled so that the real Chappelle could start using it. That left the new, now-abandoned @ChappelleDavidK open for someone to claim, which someone did, and started tweeting from it as though it was still the real Chappelle.

To make things even more confusing, the new user of @ChappelleDavidK made the page look like a clone of the real Chappelle's page, with the same pictures and tweets. Twitter allows users to change their handle and display name at will, which is why the verification system is important for celebrities.

The bottom line is that @DaveChappelle is the real deal, and @ChappelleDavidK's recent tweets (including gratuitous RT's of @WonkaMeme) are not coming from the comedian. The fake account's bio, as of today, reads "I am not Dave Chappelle (Parody)." The most recent tweet from the real Chappelle, from Sunday night, calls out the fake account:

PREVIOUSLY: Is Dave Chappelle making his comeback in 140 characters or less?

A new Twitter account claiming to be the real comedian was started on Tuesday and has since amassed over 140,000 followers despite being unverified and apparently not as funny as you'd expect.

The handle @ChappelleDavidK first tweeted, "Chinese Riddle: If a man does not tweet does he exist?" before sending another tweet clarifying that he tried to attain @DaveChappelle but it was taken by "F'n imposters." After that, he speculated about his lack of followers (as most new Tweeters do), tweeted a picture of himself on a motorcycle (although his face isn't visible) and sent his first few Twitter jokes off into the world:

Other popular figures on Twitter have brought positive attention to the account, including Judd Apatow and Questlove, with comedian Aziz Ansari tweeting, "It's him. Trust." Perhaps the biggest indicator that the account is legitimate came from fellow "Chappelle's Show" creator Neal Brennan:

Taiwanese animated news network NMA has already put together the above animation covering the story. Chappelle's last tweet at time of writing was on Thursday night and he has yet to tweet today.

We'll update this post if the account is verified or proven to be a fake. What do you think? Tell us by commenting below.

'DWTS' Judge Carrie Ann Inaba: 'I Don't Hate Maks'

$

0

Carrie Ann Inaba has already dubbed last week's "Dancing With the Stars" Season 14 premiere "the best first episode ever," but does the reality judge think it's going to stay that way?

"I have a feeling that because they're so good, we as judges will be able to raise our standards of judging," Inaba told The Huffington Post. "I think that will make it more competitive between them, and we'll be able to get into the details of each dance."

For fans of the reality competition series who have cried out for more dancing -- and less hand-holding -- this news should should come as a welcome change from last season, which saw a few less-than-stellar celebrities staying more than midway through the season. In fact, last season's schizophrenic judging even caused one pro -- Maksim Chmerkovskiy -- to lose his cool and blow up at the judges.

Ever since their heated exchange, some viewers believe that Inaba has been unfairly critical of the outspoken pro, and now, the "DWTS" judge wants to clear the air once and for all.

The Huffington Post also chatted with Inaba about which "Dancing With the Stars" contestant truly surprised her on the dance floor and which star was "like the Beatles" when he stepped into the ballroom.

I need some of your happy pills. During the premiere, you were absolutely glowing, you were so excited.
[Laughs.] You know what? I've been really happy because I took a slight change of direction in my life. I've really become super active in rescuing animals, and it has made my life feel so much better. I can't even express to you how happy it has made me. It's funny that you said that because after the show, I had so many friends call me and say, "You look so happy!"

Seriously, though, you were on Sherri Shepherd's level of excitement.
It was really nice to see that kind of dancing. We have not, in the history of "Dancing With the Stars," had an opening night like that ever. It's exciting to watch great dancing.

Are you worried that they won't be able to top themselves? I mean, we had two 26s in the first week. Where can they go from there?
You know what I think is going to happen? This is just my opinion, but I have a feeling that because they're so good, we as judges will be able to raise our standards of judging. I think that will make it more competitive between them, and we'll be able to get into the details of each dance. There was a year when Drew Lachey was headed to the finals, and we were able to give him specific corrections, and those corrections helped him win. I'm excited for that this year. We'll be able to go into specifics, like, "On that move, your shoulder was here," or "Watch your spot," or "Maybe turn it a little quicker." I'm excited to get that in-depth because not all seasons can we do that. It would just go over people's heads.

We know that everyone did really well in the first week, but who were you surprised by?
I was surprised by Jack Wagner. I did not expect him to be quite as dashing on the dance floor. [Laughs.] But I was floored by Gladys Knight.

I have such a soft-spot for Tristan already, but Gladys and Tristan are like a power couple unlike any other.
I agree! Tristan has turned out to be quite a star on "Dancing With the Stars." He has great energy, and he's really patient with his partners, but he's got a wonderful sense of humor. He's a really good teacher, and I like his choreography, too. So I think it's going to be fun to watch him and Gladys go through this journey because Gladys is a really good dancer.

She was incredible! She just has so much natural rhythm.
That's what it was! It was true rhythm, from the core of her being. She just became one with the music, and I love that. I love when people have that instant connection to the music. It just takes it to another level, and that's Gladys Knight's style. I think Gavin DeGraw also had an interesting connection to the music as well -- a really good connection and interpretation of the song. He's not quite as naturally gifted in the arena of dance, but it will be really exciting to see him progress as the weeks go on because he obviously comes from no dance experience. He's also quite a shy person who doesn't often get out from behind the piano, so I think "Dancing With the Stars" will be a good season for him ... if he can hang there with the big boys.

Well, maybe his familiarity with music will help him.
I think so. For instance, Donald Driver has great energy when he dances, and he has some great moves, but I don't know if he was as connected to the music as let's say, Gavin DeGraw was. I thought that Gavin's performance was actually better overall than Donald Driver's, but it wasn't necessarily better dancing. There's so many different elements that we get to look at, so I think this season will be a really fun season for all of us.

Speaking of fun, let's talk about William Levy.
Okay, let me just tell you that the ballroom went insane when he walked out. He came out during the commercial break, and the room went insane. I've never ever heard it like that. It was crazy. Women were screaming, "I love you! I love you!" It was like the Beatles had arrived. It was very exciting. He's very modest, and I think he's got a good head on his shoulders. If he gets to stay, I'm excited to see how he's going to progress because I think he's got room to grow, but he started out really strong.

Now, let's talk about the professional dancers. When it comes to the Chmerkovskiy brothers, we all know that Maks is a powerhouse, but I think his younger brother Val could give him a run for his money this season.
[Laughs.] You know, I've judged Val in competitive events at the USA Dance Nationals, and I awarded him the Carrie Ann Inaba Star Quality Award two years ago, so I'm very familiar with how Val dances, and he is absolutely at the top of his game. Maks has been doing our show and not competing as much, so I'm going to agree that Val is definitely going to give Maks a run for his money.

Now, I have to say that there are some fans of the show who truly believe that you have some sort of grudge against Maks. Do you want to squash these rumors?
Oh my god, no, I don't hate Maks! That's so funny. I do think that people get so heated, and I get some vile emails and tweets and Facebook messages from fans of Maks who are so supportive of him. So maybe that's why they're made because publicly, it looks like there are some negative words being thrown, but they're not between Maks and I. Maks said some things last season, but I totally understand it. I know how hard it is for these dancers to work, and I love and respect them all. They all work so hard. It is not an easy show to be on. You give everything you can to these celebrities who may or may not know how to dance, and it hurts sometimes. But, no, there's no feud going on between Maks and I.

"Dancing With the Stars" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET and Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

After Whitney Houston's official cause of death was revealed last week, San Franciscans paid tribute in the best way they knew how: with a memorial flash mob, of course.

Our city is no stranger to honoring deceased icons with flash mobs. We've done the Thriller dance for Michael Jackson, the Soul Train line for Don Cornelius, and even the iPhone vigil for Steve Jobs.

But Friday evening's traffic-stopping dance for the departed diva may have been our best mob scene yet. Take a look at the hundreds of enthusiastic participants who flailed their limbs in unison to the beats of Whitney's iconic "I Want To Dance With Somebody" above.

And make sure you don't miss out on the next one!

While most viewers who contributed to the $155 million opening weekend of "The Hunger Games" were crammed into sold-out theaters with sticky floors and rudely texting patrons, others had a more luxurious experience.

"Spring Breakers" co-stars Ashley Benson and Selena Gomez were so psyched to watch "The Hunger Games" that they couldn't resist showing off the great seats they scored to watch the movie.

“Seeing Hunger games in D box werkkkkkk @selenagomez," Benson tweeted on Sunday night and posted a photo of the two sitting in super high-tech seats that are coded to a film, frame by frame, for a physically immersive moviegoing experience.

Of course, Selena is no stranger to watching movies in style. Her boyfriend, Justin Bieber, has proved on more than one occasion that he can plan a great date, but renting out LA's Staples Center for a private screening of "Titanic" is hard to top.

Jealous?
