Kardashian Kristmas Eve Was Krazy

It takes a lot to put together Kris Jenner's annual Christmas Eve party -- seriously, Oprah's network even interviewed her about it -- and the Kardashian women Instagrammed it all. There was Belvedere, a photo booth and matching white dresses. A little different than your family's Christmas Eve spent in deep analysis of "Serial," huh?

Seth Rogen And Evan Goldberg Show Up To L.A. Screening Of 'The Interview'

Eager moviegoers got an early Christmas present if they happened to stop by Los Angeles' Silent Movie Theatre on Thursday morning. Run by nonprofit Cinefamily, the theatre hosted a 12:30 a.m. showing of "The Interview," and co-directors Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg dropped by to introduce the film.

"You are the best, we thought this might not happen at all," Rogen told the crowd, according to NBC News. "If it wasn't for theaters like this and people like you, this wouldn't be fucking happening."

If you haven't been following all the controversy surrounding the release of "The Interview," here's a brief rundown of why the film almost didn't make it to theaters: Earlier this month, hackers made terror threats against places that planned to show the film, and major movie theater chains decided not to show it. Sony yanked the comedy from the release schedule, but then flipped on its decision and made plans to release the film via VOD streaming services and in independent movie theaters, like the Silent Movie Theatre.

To see footage of Rogen and Goldberg's surprise visit, head over to NBC.

Yesterday, Google began streaming "The Interview" on Google Play and YouTube, a week after Sony allegedly approached the search engine giant asking for help distributing the film. The comedy, starring Seth Rogen and James Franco, is also available on Microsoft's Xbox Video and on SeeTheInterview.com. It will be playing on Christmas Day at about 300 movie theaters across the country.

Print Magazine Covers Tell The Most Powerful Stories Of 2014

Though 2014 proved to be another troubling year for the print industry, Americans remained as transfixed by magazine covers as ever.

While today one can gather news from a plethora of high-speed, digital platforms, there is still something to be said for the way a bold headline, a striking photograph and a sheet of glossy paper can capture the day's biggest stories and most iconic personalities.

From a man kneeling with his hands up amid the unrest in Ferguson, Missouri, to Lupita Nyong'o posing in a red and white floral dress to the Advocate naming Russian president Vladimir Putin its "Person of the Year," magazines covers reflected the arc of politics, protests, culture and celebrity throughout 2014.

Check out some of the year's most unforgettable covers:

Audiences 'Let Freedom Ring' At 'The Interview' Screenings In New York City

"The Interview" probably should have been called "The Honey Pot."

It's a term and idea frequently referenced in the Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg co-directed film, in which Rogen's character explains, "It's an attractive spy woman who lures men into doing shit they're not supposed to do."

At the 10 a.m. Christmas Day screening of "The Interview" at Cinema Village -- the only theater currently showing the film in Manhattan -- it was hard not to feel like audiences had been honey-potted in some respect. In this case, they were lured into showing up with notions of protecting free speech and and the sexiness of sticking it to the hackers who, last week, dared to evoke the memory of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in their threats.

The idea that seeing "The Interview" in theaters was important or even patriotic was only amplified by the scene in and around Cinema Village. Many media members (myself included) pounced on moviegoers as they purchased tickets. Inside, theater manager Lee Peterson introduced the comedy by quoting "My Country, 'Tis of Thee."

"Let freedom ring," Peterson said to the crowd of around 100 people. "No one can tell us what we can or can't see. So enjoy the film."

It's a seductive narrative, mostly because people don't like being told they can't see something --especially by hackers that may or may not be working for a brutal dictatorship in North Korea. It's likely one of the reasons that all of Cinema Village's afternoon screenings are sold out -- even after Sony made the film available to stream online for half the price of a theater ticket.

It's all this buzz surrounding the movie, and Sony's flip flop on releasing the film, that was what brought Jacqueline and Anthony Goodling to the movie theater.

"I wanted to come down here and see all the hype around something," said Anthony Goodling. "But, in reality, it's a movie, and for everyone to blow it out of proportion like they did, I just think it's going to be really good and really funny."

Jacqueline, his wife, added that they didn't have any plans to see "The Interview" before Sony pulled it from theaters last week, but decided to after it became an issue of free speech.

Other theatergoers, such as Karen Shea and her husband, planned to see the film all along, but admitted they came out today due to "curiosity" and due to the "novelty" of Sony briefly pulling it from theaters.

The movie itself is everything you'd expect from a movie starring Seth Rogen and James Franco --dick jokes, fart jokes, celebrity cameos and even the delightful integration of language from the Internet's favorite Deranged Sorority Girl Email. It's not exactly ground-breaking stuff, but audiences are at least now able to make the choice to see those dick and fart jokes for themselves.

"We live in an area where we have freedom of speech, and can see anything as far as movies and media," Jacqueline Goodling said. "And this was shut down for a period of time, just because of the hacking and because of the fear that we had. That's not what we're about."

Thirty Seconds Of Jared Leto's Enviable Ombré Hair

Jared Leto is the only man in Hollywood who gives us a serious case of hair envy.

Whenever the Oscar-winning actor steps onto the red carpet, our eyes zero in on his ombré hair. The hand-painted technique perfected by colorist Chase Kusero and the edgy layers crafted by hairstylist Aaron Grenia has helped earned Leto a spot on many best beauty lists.

The low-maintenance hairstyle meshes well with Leto's rock star lifestyle. Of course, having a killer grooming team makes it easy.

While he's worn every hairstyle you can imagine since starring on the '90s teen drama "My So-Called Life," we hope that Leto ushers in his 43rd year sporting what's become his signature hairdo.

But should he decide to switch things up on us, at least we'll have this awesome GIF to relive all of Leto's glorious ombré hair moments.

Following weeks of advanced hype and some of the year's best reviews, "Selma" debuted in New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and Atlanta on Christmas Day. (A nationwide bow follows on Jan. 9.) To celebrate the release, director Ava DuVernay and star David Oyelowo (who plays Martin Luther King in the film), went to five theaters in the Los Angeles area to see the response from audiences. DuVernay was pleased:

Five theaters in five hours with David on SELMA's Christmas opening day! What an honor. We snuck in to watch folks from Hollywood to Century City to Baldwin Hills looking up at the images, the light from the screen falling beautifully on their faces. All kinds of faces. Older and younger. Black, white, brown and everything in between. All classes and cultures. All sitting together in the dark, watching the film we made with our friends. I can [sic] even describe. Thanks to all who bore witness on Christmas! And advance gratitude to everyone checking it out this long holiday weekend and when we open everywhere on January 9. Incredible! xo!

Rush Limbaugh Can't Stand The Idea Of A Black James Bond Played By Idris Elba

Can James Bond be played by a black man?

Absolutely. Just don't tell Rush Limbaugh, who devoted part of his radio show on Tuesday to fussing over a rumor that Idris Elba -- a black actor known for his roles in "The Wire," "American Gangster" and others -- could replace current 007 Daniel Craig when the time comes.

“James Bond is a total concept put together by Ian Fleming. He was white and Scottish. Period. That is who James Bond is, was,” Limbaugh said, in comments flagged by Media Matters. “But now [they are] suggesting that the next James Bond should be Idris Elba, a black Briton, rather than a white from Scotland."

"But that’s not who James Bond is," he continued, acknowledging, "and I know it’s racist to probably point this out.”

In a 2011 interview with NPR, Elba addressed the rumor he might replace Craig, telling host Linda Wertheimer he's not interested in playing "black roles" -- just "roles."

"I just don't want to be the black James Bond," Elba said. "Sean Connery wasn't the Scottish James Bond, and Daniel Craig wasn't the blue-eyed James Bond, so if I played him, I don't want to be called the black James Bond."

The current rumor has its roots in a leaked email from Sony Pictures Entertainment co-chairman Amy Pascal, who in a private message sent earlier this year, stated, "Idris should be the next Bond."

'The Interview' Makes $1 Million On Christmas

"The Interview" raked in $1 million at the box office on Christmas Day, Sony Pictures reported on Friday, and stands to make a few million more throughout the holiday weekend. The much-discussed comedy about North Korea opened in approximately 300 independent theaters on Thursday after it was released online Wednesday.

Many theaters reported sold-out screenings, and co-directors Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen even made appearances at theaters in Los Angeles to thank moviegoers for their support.

Considering the incredibly challenging circumstances, we are extremely grateful to the people all over the country who came out to experience ‘The Interview’ on the first day of its unconventional release,” Rory Bruer, Sony’s president of worldwide distribution, said in a statement. Bruer also noted that "The Interview" was only released in 10 percent of the theaters that originally planned to show the film.

Of course, the comedy almost didn't make it to theaters since major movie chains opted out of screening "The Interview" after hackers threatened terrorist attacks on places that showed it. Sony pulled the film from its release schedule last week, but reversed its decision on Tuesday. Independent theaters rallied behind the movie and Sony made the film available to rent or buy via streaming services like YouTube and Google Play. (Here's a full timeline of the events surrounding the release of "The Interview" for reference.)

The $1 million estimate does not include online rentals and purchases, and Sony hasn't announced its online sales yet.

Dustin Diamond Arrested For 'Reckless' Behavior

Dustin Diamond, best known for his role as Screech on "Saved By The Bell," was arrested in Wisconsin on Friday, TMZ reports. The Ozaukee County Police Department confirmed the news to HuffPost Entertainment. He was arrested for possession of a switchblade, reckless endangerment in the first degree and carrying a concealed weapon.

According to TMZ, Diamond, 37, allegedly stabbed a man after getting into an argument late Christmas evening at Grand Avenue Saloon. The man and some friends were reportedly being "rude" and "insulting" toward Diamond and his girlfriend, Amanda Schutz, the actor told police.

“Diamond stated that he did not intentionally stab the individual in the bar but that chaos broke out and people were grabbing at him and that he swung his arms to break free,” the police report states. Court documents say the victim suffered a half-inch wound with “substantial bleeding” under the arm pit. That victim is recovering at home and explained that he didn’t see a knife or initially feel being cut. Still, authorities found a “stiletto folding knife with a 3.75-inch blade, which uses a thumb stud and assisted opening mechanism" in Diamond's car following the incident. The tip of the knife was reportedly moist.

Diamond appeared in a Ozaukee County Court on Friday afternoon, Milwaukee's Fox6 News reports. He is claiming self-defense and reportedly seeking private counsel. His bail was set at $10,000 and he has a status hearing scheduled for Dec. 29.

Schutz was charged with disorderly conduct and released, police said.

Taylor Swift Should Date Orlando Bloom, According To Ed Sheeran

$

Taylor Swift insists that she's happily single, but according to her friend Ed Sheeran, the "Shake It Off" singer should look no further than her New York City apartment building for love.

Sheeran told British magazine Now that he thinks Orlando Bloom would be a wonderful match for the 25-year-old.

"He's lovely, and they live in the same building," Sheeran said. "[I'm hoping that] the magic might present itself eventually."

Bloom, 37, is already pals with Swift's best friend Selena Gomez, so perhaps sparks could fly between the two. Still, Swift isn't interested in dating at the moment.

"Dating or finding someone is the last thing on my mind, because I can't picture how it could work with the way my life is," she told Vogue UK's November issue. "I don't know how a guy is supposed to walk next to his girlfriend when there are 20 men with cameras, and he can't protect his girlfriend because that's the life she chose. I just don't see how it could work, so I don't think about it, and I kind of run from it when it presents itself. 'Cause I don't think any guy really … They think that they would want to get to know me, and maybe date me, but I don't think they want what comes with it."

Since Bloom knows the business, maybe there's hope, Ed. Maybe there's hope.
