The First Trailer For 'Terminator Genisys' Is Here

$

He is back. Paramount released the first trailer for "Terminator Genisys" (real title) on Thursday, following two days of teases. The new film stars Jai Courtney (as Kyle Reese), Jason Clarke (as John Connor), Emilia Clarke (as Sarah Connor) and Arnold Schwarzenegger as T-800. The trailer also shows a glimpse of T-1000 (or what looks like a T-1000) and features the famed "Terminator" theme.

The new film twists the "Terminator" story fans have come to love. From an Entertainment Weekly piece on the film in October:

Twist No. 1? Sarah Connor isn’t the innocent she was when Linda Hamilton first sported feathered hair and acid-washed jeans in the role. Nor is she Hamilton's steely zero body-fat warrior in 1991's T2. Rather, the mother of humanity's messiah was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9. Since then, she's been raised by (brace yourself) Schwarzenegger's Terminator -- an older T-800 she calls "Pops" -- who is programmed to guard rather than to kill. As a result, Sarah is a highly trained antisocial recluse who’s great with a sniper rifle but not so skilled at the nuances of human emotion.

Needless to say, not everyone was pleased with that tweak. "Terminator Genisys" is out on July 1, 2015.

SEATTLE (AP) — A Seattle-area medical examiner says actress Misty Upham, known for her roles in "August: Osage County" and "Django Unchained," died of blunt-force injuries to her head and torso.

The King County medical examiner's office updated its investigation of the Oct. 5 death Wednesday, but the manner of death is still undetermined. The 32-year-old actress died in the Seattle suburb of Auburn on the same day her family told police she was suicidal. Relatives reported her missing the next day.

Friends and family searching for Upham found her body in a ravine.

Auburn police say they believe the trauma was caused by a fall and there's no indication of foul play, but they don't know exactly what happened.

Upham's father has said he doesn't believe she committed suicide.

Bill Cosby has canceled his New York tour dates amid more sexual assault allegations against the 77-year-old comedian.

Cosby was scheduled to perform at the Tarrytown Music Hall twice on Saturday, but the venue announced that he would not go on, noting that ticket holders would be refunded:

Cosby's performances in Las Vegas and Tucson were also canceled last month. Las Vegas' Treasure Island casino-hotel said it had mutually agreed with Cosby to cancel the show, though Tucson's Diamond Desert casino did not provide a reason.

Cosby's tour schedule is still live on BillCosby.com, and lists dozens of dates that are still set to go forward through May 2015. His next scheduled performance is Jan. 7, 2015 in Ontario, Canada.

Azealia Banks took to Twitter to slam Iggy Azalea for staying quiet after a grand jury voted not to indict a New York City police officer in the death of an unarmed black man.

On Wednesday, a Staten Island grand jury decided to end the criminal case against Officer Daniel Pantaleo, who put local man Eric Garner into a chokehold during a July arrest, ultimately leading to Garner's death. After the grand jury announcement, protestors took to the streets of Manhattan to decry the decision, and others turned to social media to express their dismay.

Banks used Twitter to call out Azalea for not discussing the subject. After tweeting "#EricGarner," the performer went on to say how she wants to help initiate change and how the media is partly to blame; then she took aim at the Australian rapper.

Azalea responded later, saying she had been in rehearsals.

She tweeted about "other news that actually relates to me," promoting her upcoming tour with Nick Jonas. Then she posted a series of tweets encouraging her followers to protest for change and donate to causes that help local communities.

Numerous celebrities spoke out after the grand jury decision Monday night including Spike Lee -- who marched with protesters in Manhattan -- Chris Rock, Kerry Washington, Aaron Paul, George Lopez, Diddy and Jon Stewart.

Kristin Cavallari Felt 'Used And Manipulated' By MTV On 'Laguna Beach' Reality Show (VIDEO)

Most juniors in high school only worry about their reputation among their peers, but 16-year-old Kristin Cavallari's concerns extended far beyond her California classmates. In 2004, Cavallari and several others appeared on the MTV reality show "Laguna Beach," which followed their privileged and tangled lives both inside and outside of Laguna Beach High School. As the show grew in popularity, so did Cavallari's image as the "bad girl," thanks to scenes that involved frequent fights with her then-boyfriend and arguments with fellow star Lauren Conrad.

Now 27 and married with two children, Cavallari looks back on her "Laguna Beach" experience as an extremely difficult time in her life -- something she never expected the day MTV showed up at her school looking for a brand new set of reality stars.

"I was a junior in high school and MTV showed up and did open casting," Cavallari tells "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" in the above video. "You grab this 20-page packet and then they would take your Polaroid, and from there, they did on-camera interviews. They sort of narrowed it down to these eight people."

Those eight people were more like acquaintances than close friends, but all seemed eager to begin filming. "We had no idea what we were doing," Cavallari says. "We were just going along with whatever MTV was telling us to do."

During and after it aired, "Laguna Beach" was criticized for appearing more like a scripted series than a reality show, accused of coaching lines, shooting retakes and manufacturing situations. Particularly on that last issue, Cavallari hasn't disagreed.

"I felt very, very used and manipulated," she admits.

She cites one of the show's major storylines, Cavallari's love triangle with her boyfriend and Conrad, as an example. "The producers would have [my boyfriend] go and take out Lauren Conrad, take her to dinner bring her flowers, which never would've happened if it wasn't for the show, for MTV," she says.

This frustration soon manifested in her behavior in front of the cameras. "Being 16, 17 in high school, not knowing really how to handle your emotions or even realizing what's going on, I put up a wall. I put up a really tough exterior because I felt like they were really trying to take advantage of me," Cavallari says.

Her emotions turned to shock when she saw the results of all that filming. "When I saw it air and saw the way that they represented me, I was really, really upset," she says. "I cried for hours and hours after I saw the first episode."

It's been more than a decade since that episode aired, but Cavallari still believes her time on "Laguna Beach" can teach a valuable lesson to anyone interested in following a similar path.

"I still to this day think that you should be 18 to do a reality show!" she says. "Only because of my experience."

Kristin Cavallari's full interview airs on "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" this Sunday, Dec. 7, at 9 p.m. ET on OWN. Find OWN on your TV.

Never grow up, Jane Krakowski. Please, never grow up.

"Peter Pan Live!" starring Allison Williams and Christopher Walken airs Thursday night on NBC, and already the (fake) leaked audition tapes are popping up all over the place. Funny or Die presents this audition footage of "30 Rock" star Jane Krakowski really getting into her audition as the legendary Peter Pan.

Krakowski is a method actor, which means she needs to get into the head of Peter. Is he a pixie dust addict? Do Peter and Wendy ever get together? If so, would that make Peter straight, or a lesbian? These questions are important for her process!

Benedict Cumberbatch is officially the Sorcerer Supreme. Following months of speculation, Marvel announced on Thursday that Cumberbatch will play the lead role in "Doctor Strange."

"Stephen Strange's story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity," Marvel Studios president and "Doctor Strange" producer Kevin Feige said in a statement. "In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character."

Cumberbatch was first rumored for the part back in June, but Marvel's search would later focus in on Joaquin Phoenix. But after Phoenix dropped out of consideration, Cumberbatch's name resurfaced in late October. Marvel wouldn't confirm anything then, but the new round of rumors proved true.

"Doctor Strange," written by Jon Spaihts ("Prometheus") and directed by Scott Derrickson ("Sinister"), will arrive in theaters on Nov. 4, 2016.

Lil Wayne Says He's A 'Prisoner' To Cash Money Records As 'Tha Carter V' Is Delayed

Following the delay of "Tha Carter V," Lil Wayne, 32, went on a tweeting spree Wednesday afternoon to express his discontent with record label Cash Money Records:

"Tha Carter V," an ablum Lil Wayne previously stated would be his last, was originally slated to drop in May. After the debut of a single, "Grindin," and embarking on the Drake Vs. Lil Wayne tour this summer, the album remained unreleased. Wayne dropped another track, "Gotti," in late October, before announcing that his new album would be released in two parts -- the first on Dec. 9.

As Rolling Stone notes, the leaderboard on Cash Money's website claims the album is "coming soon."

Chris Rock Says He Watches Movies And 'Doesn't See One Black Woman'

The tragic deaths of Michael Brown, Eric Garner and Tamir Rice, have ignited a lot of important conversations about race. And Chris Rock is adding his own poignant and thoughtful voice to these important conversations.

In a new essay for The Hollywood Reporter the 49-year-old comedian and actor breaks down Hollywood's race problem. "It's a white industry," Rock writes. "Just as the NBA is a black industry. I'm not even saying it's a bad thing. It just is."

Rock discusses the well-known, but under-addressed issue of diversity in Hollywood and how black people, women and especially black women rarely see themselves on screen. He talked about the racial double standard black women face when they go through casting:
[How] about "True Detective"? I never heard anyone go, "Is it going to be Amy Adams or Gabrielle Union?" for that show. I didn't hear one black girl's name on those lists. Not one. Literally everyone in town was up for that part, unless you were black. And I haven't read the script, but something tells me if Gabrielle Union were Colin Farrell's wife, it wouldn't change a thing. And there are almost no black women in film. You can go to whole movies and not see one black woman. They'll throw a black guy a bone. OK, here's a black guy. But is there a single black woman in "Interstellar"? Or "Gone Girl"? "Birdman"? "The Purge"? "Neighbors"? I'm not sure there are. I don't remember them. I go to the movies almost every week, and I can go a month and not see a black woman having an actual speaking part in a movie. That's the truth.

This world needs more Chris Rocks in it ASAP.

Téa Leoni and her "Madam Secretary" on-screen hubby Tim Daly are reportedly dating in real life.

People magazine confirmed Thursday that the newly divorced actress has quietly been seeing her co-star since the summer.

"Their chemistry on set is electrifying," a source told Us Weekly of Leoni and and Daly.

Coincidentally, the new couple went to the same Vermont high school, though it was years apart. "We had a few of the same teachers, which is really crazy," Daly told E! News in July, sweetly adding that he thought his on-screen wife was "a good kid. "

Leoni, who portrays the secretary of state on the CBS show, officially divorced David Duchovny, her husband of 17 years, in August. A month later, she had nothing but nice things to say about the father of her two kids, ages 15 and 12.

"David gave me the two greatest gifts on the planet; I don't know how I could ever hate him. We've always loved each other, and we adore these kids," the 48-year-old actress told Parade magazine on Sept. 19

Daly divorced his ex-wife of 26 years, Amy Van Nostrand, back in 2010. In September, the 58-year-old actor raved about working with his current squeeze in an interview with Collider.

"We get along really, really well," he said of Leoni. "We have a really good time. I've gotten along with plenty of people, but the chemistry sucked. And I've hated people where the chemistry is great. It's much better if you get along and the chemistry is good. That's perfect."

Gabrielle Union Dishes On Dwyane Wade's Hidden Talent

The mark of any good wedding is a crowded dance floor -- and by that measure (and many, many others), Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade's wedding was one for the books.

Union dished on the celebratory occasion in a HuffPost Live interview Thursday, where she touched upon a particularly exciting facet of it: the "serious dance-off."

"It was happening," she recounted. "Guys against girls."

And while the guys were representing themselves more than sufficiently -- "Kevin Hart's a good dancer. Common clearly has some un-billed cameos in 'Breaking One & Two" -- it was Union's old gal pal who took the cake.

"My girlfriend, fresh off a newborn, she went in -- and nobody turns up like a woman who's like 'I'm taking a night off from breastfeeding, I'm gonna pump and dump, I'm gonna drink this tequila," she recalled.

"The guys threw in the towel," she continued. "They're like, y'all took it!"

But perhaps the cutest thing Union shared -- other than dancing not being her "honey's best thing" -- is how her Miami Heat player hubby took care of planning the nuptials. She explained:

Dwyane really the led the charge with everything. We called him 'Zilla... He thought about everything. He really wanted this big moment and it was perfect and I'm so glad he was running the show.

The "Top Five" actress couldn't help but gush more about Wade in the rest of her HuffPost Live conversation. Take a look at the clip below to hear even more cute anecdotes, and watch the full interview here.

Pauly Shore has an "awesome" relationship with Andy Dick, but he's upset by Dick's behavior, Shore told HuffPost Live on Thursday.

"I'm worried for him, you know what I mean? Most people are. I mean, it's like Amy Winehouse," Shore told host Ricky Camilleri.

Dick has struggled with substance abuse for years, and his battles have been well-documented. Shore said the reality is that Dick is an addict, "so he needs to take that into consideration and stop fucking around or he's going to die."

"I think he likes being fucked up. He just loves it. He loves kind of stumbling around and touching guy's penises and touching chicks' boobs," Shore said.

Shore visited HuffPost Live to discuss his new documentary, "Pauly Shore Stands Alone," which premiered on Showtime on Dec. 4.

Gabrielle Union: Lack Of Compassion About Eric Garner Makes Me Fear For My Family

$
0
0
There's a lot to complain about in the way the justice system has handled the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, but Gabrielle Union's chief concern is the lack of compassion in the response to it all.

When Union spoke with HuffPost Live's Marc Lamont Hill on Thursday about her new film "Top Five," she also offered a frank explanation of why she's hurt by the way America is discussing race, justice and police brutality:

You have to have a complete lack of humanity to not at least acknowledge that there's a whole chunk of our country and the world that experiences life and all that it has to offer differently. Have compassion for the pain. Have compassion for that difference. Have compassion that a man has lost his life after pleading repeatedly -- 11 times -- 'I cannot breathe.' We watched a snuff film.

That lack of compassion is not just unsettling to Union -- it makes her very afraid, she said.

"That is what makes me shake and what makes me fear for the future of my family any time one of my loved ones leaves the house," she said.

See Union's powerful take in the video above, and click here for the full HuffPost Live conversation.

Kirk Cameron's 'Saving Christmas' Has Been Voted The Worst Movie Ever

$

Kirk Cameron's "Saving Christmas" has earned the ignominious distinction of being voted the worst ever movie according to the IMDb charts. Users gave the film just 1.3 stars.

To appear in the Bottom 100, movies have to have at least 1,500 ratings. For perspective, Patheos points out that classic stinker "From Justin to Kelly" is 22 spots higher, with even the titular Justin Guarini calling that movie "abysmal."

The journey to the basement was a quick one for Cameron's movie. It was released in November and immediately won the ire of pretty much every critic. In an attempt to thwart the haters, the actor started a social media campaign to raise the film's Rotten Tomatoes rating, and, though it had some initial success, that clearly didn't work.

The good thing about this for Cameron is, well, everything. The news about his movie's new accolade started trending on Facebook and tons of media outlets, including this one, are covering the story. Despite its poor ratings (understatement of the year?), the film has already had some box office success and is reportedly extending its two-week run, which should give people plenty of time to check out what the worst movie ever actually looks like.

For more, head to Patheos.
