Kevin Spacey Unveils 'Frank Underwood's Guide to Philanthropy' Between Songs

$

WASHINGTON -- Rarely do leaders from both parties come together to support one cause, but if "House of Cards" has taught us anything, it's that nothing stops Frank Underwood from getting what he wants.

Thus it came as no surprise that everyone from second lady Jill Biden and House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) to House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Rep. Aaron Shock (R-Ill.) descended upon Sidney Harman Hall on Monday night to support Kevin Spacey, who plays Underwood in the Netflix series. The occasion was a concert to benefit Spacey's foundation for the performing arts. Hoyer and McCarthy, whom Spacey said were "instrumental" in his research for the role of Underwood, were honorary co-chairs of the event.

Despite battling a cold, the Oscar-winning actor enthralled a packed crowd of nearly 800 while performing a range of classic songs, including "Fly Me to the Moon," "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and "Luck Be a Lady." Spacey also brought his Washington alter ego with him, welcoming the audience to "an evening to benefit the Frank Underwood super PAC."

"I do apologize if you were misinformed about the intentions of this occasion," he said in Underwood's Southern accent, a move that won him instant laughter and applause.

Aside from a few jokes, Spacey mainly assumed the character between songs to offer "pearls of wisdom" collected from two seasons of playing the ambitious House majority whip-turned-president. He tied the spirit behind a number of Underwood quotes to his nonprofit foundation, which fosters emerging talent in the performing arts through scholarships and grants. From what he called "Frank Underwood’s Guide to Philanthropy," he offered such advice as, "If you don’t like how the table is set, turn over the table," "Generosity is its own form of power," and "Power is a lot like real estate. It’s all about location, location, location. The closer you are to the source, the higher your property value."

The crowd responded enthusiastically each and every time Spacey spoke as Underwood, a testament to the popularity of "House of Cards" in the nation's capital -- despite the tendency among politicos to criticize its portrayal of Washington. Spacey acknowledged that irony and noted that Hoyer and McCarthy, despite having helped him with the role, later went on to criticize the show.

"You’ve got to give credit to the power of Frank Underwood to get both sides of the House to agree on something," he quipped.

After a brief intermission, Spacey reappeared with a harmonica for a rendition of Billy Joel’s "Piano Man," which was undoubtedly his most well-received bit. The audience erupted into cheers from the moment he began the song on his harmonica, which Spacey said he hadn't learned how to play until just days before the concert.

Another highlight came in the form of his fellow actor and friend Jeff Goldblum, who surprised the audience by performing a duet with Spacey to "Me and My Shadow" and accompanying him on the piano for Lionel Richie’s "All Night Long." Dancing around the stage himself, Spacey added lines of his own, telling the audience to "Dance like Beyoncé! Dance like Nancy Pelosi!"

Short films between the live acts served as reminders of what the evening was really about, showcasing young students whom the Kevin Spacey Foundation had helped to pursue their dreams as actors, singers and dancers. Funding for art programs is often among the first items on the chopping block as governments grapple with budget cuts, and Spacey later told The Huffington Post that he hoped to raise awareness of why art matters before an audience that could make a difference.

"Look, there are some who believe that arts and culture are a luxury and that we can do without it, and there are others who believe, like I do, that it's a vital part of our lives," said Spacey, who noted that in 2011 he delivered the Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts and Public Policy with a similar message. (Back then, he declared, "The real question is not whether we as a nation can afford to continue to support the arts, but whether we can afford not to.")

"I hope that more and more will begin to realize that these are vital parts of our lives," Spacey said. "These are the things that we have shared experiences about and we talk about culturally -- music, dance, theater, film, television. This is what people are passionate about."

The tagline of Spacey's foundation, "Sending the elevator back down," is a phrase he picked up from Jack Lemmon, the legendary actor who was a mentor and close friend. Asked by HuffPost what those words meant to him, Spacey described the idea as something far beyond simply giving money.

"It's when I'm in a workshop and I see that kid in a corner who is really shy and wants to be involved but doesn't know how or maybe is a little scared," Spacey said. "I was that kid, and I want that kid to have an experience of realizing something about themselves that they didn't know that they were capable of, that they could stand in front of their peers and experience something, share something, find a level of confidence they didn't know they had. That's the moment I live for, because that was me."

"I think any teacher will talk about that happening in a classroom, when you see a child suddenly figure it out," he added. "It's an extraordinary thing, it's the most powerful thing in the world, and it's really tiny -- but for them it's gigantic. And I'll never forget when that happened to me."

Stevie Nicks' New Track 'Mabel Normand' Is A Brutal Look At 'What Drugs Can Do To You'

Stevie Nicks' new album, "24 Karat Gold," is made up of "songs from the vault," tracks she wrote in the '70s and '80s, but never fully recorded or released. In video commentary for the track "Mabel Normand," debuting at HuffPost Entertainment, Nicks explains how and why she wrote the dramatic song about Normand, a silent movie star who died in 1930.

Nicks was inspired by the actress after she saw a documentary, which portrayed Normand's life as a cocaine addict. "She was really walking on the edge for a lot of her life," Nicks said. "And I was walking on the edge, too." She wrote the track in 1985 and remembered, "1984 into 1985 was a dangerous year in my life. I definitely could have died."

Nicks tried and tried to get this song made, but said no one could tackle it until now. "It was really important to me to get this song out. It's really about what drugs can do to you." Nicks explained how the song and Normand made her realize it was time to kick her own drug habit and go to rehab: "I, unlike Mabel, managed to get a hold of it."

Listen to the song and hear more of Nicks' brutally honest commentary:

Stevie Nicks' "24 Karat Gold: Songs From The Vault" comes out on Oct. 7.

Jeff Garlin: Seeing Former Co-Star Selena Gomez Sexualized Is 'Disgusting'

Most adults probably know the endearingly loud-mouthed Jeff Garlin from his roles in "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Arrested Development" and "The Goldbergs." Many kids, however, likely know him as Selena Gomez's uncle from "The Wizards Of Waverly Place," a part he played for three years.

Garlin stopped by HuffPost Live on Tuesday to chat about "The Goldbergs," which returns to ABC this fall, and he expressed during the conversation his sadness about what he termed the "sexualization" of the 22-year-old Gomez. He told host Josh Zepps:

I worked with her for three years, and I love her. She is, at least in terms of what I saw, a great kid. But then I see her sexualized. I know she was in 'Spring Breakers' and all that. By the way, I saw 'Spring Breakers,' and I'm by myself in the theater, and I couldn't have felt dirtier. I went to go see her work, and her work was great. But the thing is, when I see her sexualized, I look at her and I look at Ariana Grande, both beautiful girls. Really beautiful girls. But they have baby fat. They look like kids. Great bikini shots of Selena Gomez? I don't go there. I see the thing, but I see those chubby cheeks. She's a kid. This is disgusting, that it's happening so young.

Garlin went on to clarify that he's not a prude about these things, adding that he "fucking loves women." He just thinks the sex appeal is added too early.

"I'm not like clean-cut Johnson. Maybe it's because I know [Gomez] intimately. It's like she's young, she's a kid," Garlin said. "It didn't happen 30 years ago. ... I'll blame the internet."

Sean, "P. Diddy," "Puff Daddy," "Diddy," Combs thinks Jennifer Lopez's "Booty" will go down in history.

The rapper was sitting down with "Access Hollywood" hosts Billy Bush and Kit Hoover when the conversation turned to his famous ex's new music video for "Booty," featuring Iggy Azalea. The video, released earlier this month, showcases a plethora of shots focusing on Lopez's derriere.

"Oh my God. Oh my God," Diddy said. "I am so lucky to have that great woman in my history. She is one of the greatest I've ever seen [clapping]. Go girl. Go girl ... We're great as friends. I'm great as a fan right now."

He wasn't shy about heaping on the praise.

"I mean it's great. It's a work of art," he said. "It's something that will go down in history, for real, it will. Also, her talent, her drive, her determination. She will never give up. She's a great friend of mine, always will be my friend, and I mean that thing is just incredible."

Bush asked if Kim Kardashian is "even in the same conversation" as the 45-year-old.

"No way," Diddy said. "No disrespect Kanye, Kim, but that thing right there ... that thing right there is something special."

The singer and the Ciroc brand ambassador began dating in the late '90s while working on her "On the 6" album. After landing in the headlines for an infamous December 1999 nightclub shooting, the two split in early 2001.

Lopez had nothing but kind words in return when she heard what her ex said about "Booty."

"It's awesome!" she told E! News. "Here's the thing about me and Puff, and I'm sorry I'll always call him Puff, we always root for each other, we always support each other. It's great after all these years to know and watch him do all that he's done ... We shared a moment in our lives and that never goes away. There's nothing but love and respect and always somebody over here cheering for you."

Watch Diddy's interview below. He begins talking about Lopez at the 6:19 mark.

Taylor Swift Says Dating Someone Is 'The Last Thing On My Mind'

If you were hoping to join the ranks of men who've stolen Taylor Swift's heart, we've got some bad news for you. It seems the so-called serial dater is putting her eternal quest for love on hold.

“Dating or finding someone is the last thing on my mind, because I can’t picture how it could work with the way my life is," Swift, cover star of Vogue U.K.'s November issue, told the magazine.

Swift added that her life as a celebrity is too chaotic for another person to deal with:

"I don’t know how a guy is supposed to walk next to his girlfriend when there are 20 men with cameras, and he can’t protect his girlfriend because that’s the life she chose. I just don’t see how it could work, so I don’t think about it, and I kind of run from it when it presents itself. Cause I don’t think any guy really … They think that they would want to get to know me, and maybe date me, but I don’t think they want what comes with it,” Swift told Vogue U.K.

And the 24-year-old isn't just taking a break from dating guys -- she seems to be done with singing about them, too. Swift explained that her new album, "1989," will stray from her quintessential lovesick country ballads:

“This time around I’ve chosen the brave and bold way of going about things. Because with this album I’ve completely changed the sound of everything I’ve done until now. So it’s interesting to not be afraid of that. You know, I don’t want to hurt people’s feelings, I don’t want to betray Nashville, whatever, but essentially it comes down to challenging yourself as an artist.”

Seems like Swift is certainly turning a new leaf. (And if she gets lonely without a boyfriend, at least she has her cats to cuddle up with at night.)

Sam Smith: 'I'm Not Beyonce'

Sam Smith took Los Angeles' collective breath away this week, playing two completely sold out shows at the infamous 5,870-seat Greek Theater in Griffith Park. Only a year ago, he pointed out, he performed at the tiny Troubador club in West Hollywood and thanked the fans who came to that first show.

"I put out a pretty depressing album last year. So I sort of wallowed for a year, but I feel much better now," Smith, 22, said to undulating waves of applause on Tuesday night. The roar of the audience at the Greek Theater encouraged his heartfelt monologue.

"I went into the studio and thought I'd make a Beyonce album. I'm not Beyonce, if you haven't notice," he joked. "I called up someone I was really in love with and told him everything and the next day I made this song. It sort of jumpstarted everything," he said, as he began to play "I Told You Now" from his debut album "In The Lonely Hour."

He only had the one album and his one EP to play off of at the Greek, but that didn't stop him from doing what only few male vocalists can do -- cover a Whitney Houston song.

"I love female divas. I grew up listening to people like Amy Winehouse, Etta James, Beyonce," Smith said. "About four months ago when we were pushing the record in New York, I was having a tough week. There was so much going on. And I decided to do something a little bit different and I did a cover of one of my favorites of all time, Ms. Whitney Houston."

Smith came out as gay in May 2014, right around the time he released his first album. In September, he told The Daily Mail that the inspiration for the soul-crushing songs was in fact the unrequited love of a straight man.

"I am a happy person, believe it or not. I want a love one day. I don't want to be miserable forever," Smith told his fans at the Greek. "I can't bring out 'In The Lonely Hour' part two, so I need to find someone to love me, quickly."

Based on the deafening applause, we have a feeling this will not be a problem for long.

Grammy-nominated Christian singer-songwriter Jennifer Knapp faced her share of conservative detractors when she came out as a lesbian in 2010.

Four years later, Knapp is back with an all-new memoir, Facing the Music: My Story, in which she explores her "complicated, complex" journey as a devout Christian who identifies as gay.

As Knapp reveals in this exclusive trailer for HuffPost Gay Voices, the dilemma she continually faced was: "What do I do about being a person of faith when I'm in an environment that tells me I'm consistently in conflict with it?"

Along the way, however, she's learned a lot.

"You find detractors everywhere you go," she says. "You find hurdles and obstacles to your life and your experience ... the trick is figuring out what our response is going to be when we face them."

Ariana Grande is absolutely fine with all those Mariah Carey comparisons.

"Mariah has been a huge influence on me since I was a little girl," Grande revealed to Us Weekly. "I've even done a cover of one of her songs. I don't think there are any negatives to being compared to one of the greatest vocalists of all time. It's honestly a great honor."

Comparisons between the two artists have been rolling in since Grande busted onto the music scene in 2013, with some critics on board and some arguing otherwise.

But in whichever camp you happen to fall, you'll probably still enjoy Grande's fantastic cover of Carey's "Emotions":

If you've ever wondered why the U.K. is so into soccer, you're not alone.

When John Oliver stopped by "Late Show" on Tuesday, David Letterman had the "Last Week Tonight" host comment on the somewhat confusing setup of British soccer.

Oliver went on to explain the break down, how most teams have little chance of getting into the good divisions and that money pretty much ensures the same teams win every year, which culminates in Letterman bringing up the thing that's on everyone's mind: "So what's the point?"

"Late Show with David Letterman" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS.

Zosia Mamet Is 'Definitely Not A Shoshanna'

$

Once upon a time, Zosia Mamet was known for smaller roles in TV shows like "Mad Men" and movies like "The Kids Are All Right." These days, she's better known for a brilliant portrayal of Shoshanna Shapiro on HBO's "Girls" and for inspiring guest columns in Glamour magazine.

In honor of the Make Your Mark contest, in collaboration with Bayer and Glamour, to inspire and celebrate women who are making their mark on the world, Mamet spoke with HuffPost TV about what makes Shoshanna tick, Lena Dunham's new book and "Sex and the City" comparisons:

Can you explain more about the Make Your Mark contest?
It’s really geared toward what I think is sort of the essence of Glamour, which is inspiring young women and making them feel excited and confident about the choices they’re making and what they’re doing. So for the Make Your Mark contest, women write in about how they're making their mark on the world and what inspires them, no matter what that may be. The winner gets $5,000 and gets to come to New York for Glamour's Women of the Year gala.

Will we get to see more of Shoshanna on the next season of “Girls”?
I don’t know. To be completely honest all the seasons kind of bleed together for me. But her presence is always there, and that's the most important thing. She’s a little bit like the moral compass of the show. She may be crazy and wild and do stupid shit, but she always has everyone’s best interest at heart.

She also seems very different from the Shoshanna we knew in Season 1. Do you think she's going through a phase or growing into herself?
She’s absolutely growing into herself, which is what I think is happening across the board with all the girls. They’re all in their early 20s. And I think a lot of the very beginning of your 20s has to do with pushing boundaries and trying on different hats and sort of figuring out who you think you are, and then that can lead to getting burned sometimes, which she definitely did. And then it’s a matter of moving forward in a healthy way, which is definitely what I think she was trying to do last season and what she’s continuing to do this season. She's growing up.

Shoshanna really loves “Sex and the City,” and it’s pretty obvious that strives for that lifestyle. Are you a fan of the show? And what do you think when people compare it to “Girls”?
I grew up watching that show and loved it. It did something really incredible for women and for television, to have such a female-centric show. I think it was incredibly brilliant. I loved it and watched it over and over again. I really don’t think there are many similarities, other than the fact that it’s centered around four women who are experiencing growth in a decade of their lives, but they’re two drastically different decades. I think that it’s sort of an easy comparison, but I would say it’s a different timeline. But we were honored to be compared to it.

Are you a Shoshanna? Or do you identify more with one of the other girls?
I’m definitely not a Shoshanna. I’m actually incredibly different from her. I don’t know if I identify with one particular girl, I like aspects of all of them. I wouldn’t say I’m one or the other.

Okay, well if you had to choose, who are you the most like?
I think there are probably parts of Shoshanna that are in me, and I identify with aspects of Hannah’s desire to be an artist. I’m probably a little anal retentive in certain ways. I wish I was more like Jessa than I actually am, other than the fact that I own a lot of long, flowy dresses.

Has there ever been anything that’s been written for your character that you said no to?
No. I think our writers are incredibly conscious and they’re not going to do anything just to do it, they’re only going to do what is going to serve the story and move it forward. I think we really feel like whatever they do we know is necessary, so whenever I've been asked to do anything kind of wacky I’ve gone with it.

Do you hang out with anyone outside the cast?
We all have pretty busy lives, you know? Lena's off running the world, Jemima [Kirke] has two kids and Allison [Williams] and I are trying to make careers outside of “Girls.” I wouldn’t say we hang out a lot, but we are very close.

Have you read Lena's book yet?
I literally just got it on Monday at her book party. I haven’t read it yet, but I will be read it ASAP.

You and Lena both dyed your hair blonde recently. Was this planned?
[Laughs] No.

You were in some pretty great TV shows and movies prior to “Girls.” What was your favorite project?
It’s so hard to quantify, they were all so incredibly different. But "Girls" is definitely hard to beat.

What are you watching this fall?
My boyfriend and I are obsessed with “Scandal” and “Blacklist,” and I am incredibly obsessed with “Nashville.” We’ve also started watching “Manhattan” recently, which is really so good.

The Make Your Mark contest is live now at www.glamour.com/make-your-mark. Women can enter by submitting a brief essay and a photo or video that shows how they are making their own mark in the world.

Ben McKenzie is still great pals with his "The O.C." co-star Adam Brody, even if he didn't snag an invite to Brody's wedding with Leighton Meester earlier this year.

During a chat with HuffPost Live's Caitlyn Becker about his role on "Gotham," McKenzie said he still keeps in touch with Brody and recently met up with him in New York City, and he didn't mind being left out of the Brody-Meester nuptials.

"I did not go to his wedding. I think they wanted to kind of keep it super low-profile, so I did not take umbrage," McKenzie said.

And despite not being there to see them wed, McKenzie is a big fan of the woman Brody married: "His wife is awesome. Leighton's great."

McKenzie listed two other former castmates he's still in contact with: Peter Gallagher and Kelly Rowan, who played the foster parents of his character, Ryan Atwood.

Dick Donato is best known for winning "Big Brother 8" back in 2007, with his attitude and gameplay earning him the nickname Evel Dick. Today, Donato has returned to reality TV, appearing on "Couple's Therapy," and he's using the spotlight to open up about his personal struggle: living with HIV.

The 51-year-old appears on the show with his girlfriend Stephanie Rogness-Fischer, and on Wednesday's episode of the VH1 show, Donato reveals to the rest of the cast the diagnosis he received in 2011 that changed his life.

In an interview with People magazine, Donato explained that he first learned he was HIV positive while he was competing on Season 13 of "Big Brother."

"[The producers] told me that something was wrong with my blood test. They had done two HIV tests. One had come back positive and the other had come back negative," he told the magazine.

Doctors tested him again, and when test came back positive, and Donato quickly left the show.

The reality star says he's unsure how he contracted HIV, but he thinks it happened after he had unprotected sex with a woman. "People are going to make assumptions about how I got it, and that's okay," he told People. "We create a stigma around the disease that makes it hard for people to publicly say they have it."

And for years, he says, he was terrified of anyone knowing his status -- until one day he had a change of heart.

"Look, I get that I'm a reality-show villain. But for better or for worse, I have a platform. And I decided that it was time to just publicly say what I'm dealing with," he told People. "On one hand, I'm doing this for myself: I don't want to hide anymore. On the other hand, I hope it will remind viewers to get tested, practice safe sex, all those things we know in the back of our minds but maybe don't do. After I told everyone on 'Couples Therapy,' I had two production people pull me aside and say that they had gotten tested. I feel like I can do some good."

For more with Donato head over to People and tune into "Couple's Therapy" on Oct. 1 at 9 p.m. on VH1.

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are reportedly parents!

The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on Tuesday, according to TMZ. Kunis gave birth at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Gossip Cop has confirmed the news.

The little girl's name has not yet been revealed, and no other details have been made available.

HuffPost reached out to both Kunis and Kutcher's reps for comment.

The famous duo, who got engaged in February, have stayed mum about pregnancy details, although the 31-year-old actress did share some information about their birthing plan in Marie Claire's July issue.

"Two people are allowed in my delivery room. My doctor and my significant other," she said. "And he [Kutcher] is staying above the action. He'll be head to head. Not head to vag. Unless he wants to risk his life and see. But I wouldn't if I were him. I highly doubt he wants to see that being ripped apart and shredded. Because it will be shredded. It's just a matter of how badly."

The former "That '70s Show" co-stars are looking forward to raising a family together, with Kunis telling Marie Claire, "I just don't want my kids to be assholes. I feel like so many kids nowadays are. Both of us just want to have well-behaved, honest, nice children who people meet and say, 'That's a good kid.'"

Congrats to the happy couple!

Rosamund Pike dished about her upcoming sex scene with Neil Patrick Harris in the upcoming thriller "Gone Girl," which hits theaters Oct. 3.

The actress, 35, told Seth Meyers that preparing for the scene was "a very odd experience," noting that director David Fincher asked her and Harris to "rehearse this scene for two hours, alone, on an empty soundstage -- just Neil and myself."

"That is when it feels highly inappropriate," she added. "You're alone with a man who's not your husband who also has a husband ... he's in his underwear, you're in your underwear and you're sort of dry humping on a bed."

Harris, 41, tied the knot with husband David Burtka in Italy last month. He said the ceremony, which took place at a rented castle, was "less about a proclamation and more about a declaration that I was able to share in front of our kids, and that he could do back for me."

He added, "We've been together over 10 years and I think when our kids got to the age they were having reasonable conversations, when they are asking lots of 'why' questions, then it seemed [important] to be able to have a real clear-cut explanation of who their daddy is, I think is great — that he’s my husband, it was easier than 'partner' or 'boyfriend' or something like that."

The star-studded cast includes Cumberbatch, Judi Dench, Sophie Okonedo, Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Keeley Hawes and Tom Sturridge.

Though an air date hasn't been set, the series will be shown on PBS in the U.S. and BBC2 in the U.K.

On Wednesday, One Direction put their concert on pause to help one fan pull off the perfect proposal.

Surrounded by flashing iPhones, excited 1D fans and his very confused girlfriend, concertgoer Bradley Chisenhall got down on one knee:

His girlfriend predictably freaked out:

And, whew, she said yes!

The happy couple showed some love for 1D:

And the band even invited them to kick it on their tour bus after the concert.

Everybody freaked out.

So how'd this creative boyfriend pull off this impressive act? He made a Twitter account and asked the gentlemen of 1D for some help. (His boo doesn't use Twitter.):

Best wishes for the happy couple.

"Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice was sentenced Thursday to 41 months in prison and ordered to pay restitution of $414,588 for bank and bankruptcy fraud.

UPDATE (4:45 pm EST): Teresa Giudice was sentenced to 15 months in prison, which will begin Jan. 5. The judge said she will not serve her sentence at the same time as her husband, for the sake of their children. Her sentence also includes two years of probation and $414,588 in restitution payments.

The Giudices appeared before U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas at federal court in Newark, New Jersey, at 10 a.m. to hear the final verdict in the fraud case brought against them by the federal government last year.

Salas reprimanded Teresa and Joe for the "glaring omissions" in their financial disclosure forms given to the probation office on Aug. 19, NorthJersey.com reported. The forms, which were actually due in by March 4, did not include items like cars, recreational vehicles, home furnishings and construction equipment when submitted.

The prosecutor said this represents a "pattern of deception, dishonesty and concealment" and that the couple was "not transparent in the least; this concealment is intentional."

Joe is an Italian citizen and could be deported upon completion of his prison term.

Before the sentencing, Teresa allegedly filed legal documents to argue for no jail time, TMZ reported. She cited their four daughters and her prior community service as reasons she shouldn't go behind bars. She also took a jab at Bravo, claiming the network's portrayal of her is "little more than a carefully crafted fiction, engineered by Bravo TV through scripted lines and clever editing."

Last July, the Giudices were indicted on 39 counts including conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, bank fraud, making false statements on loan applications and bankruptcy fraud. The incidents occurred between September 2001 and September 2008. They were accused of filing fraudulent paperwork to obtain some $5 million in mortgages and construction loans and then hiding their assets during a 2009 bankruptcy petition. Joe also failed to file tax returns between 2004 and 2008 on income of more than $990,000.

They were charged with two additional fraud counts in November 2013.

In March, Teresa pleaded guilty to four of the counts while Joe pleaded guilty to five, including failure to file tax returns.

The Giudices listed their Towaco mansion for $3.99 million in September. The 10,000-square-foot home sits on three and a half acres of land and features six bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms, double Cinderella staircases, a master bedroom with three walk-in closets and a five-car garage.

As of April, they still owed $13.4 million to their creditors, according to NJ.com.
