Lauren Conrad's first wedding photo has been unveiled on the cover of Us Weekly and the reality star could not have been a more beautiful bride.

The happy newlyweds Conrad and William Tell appear on the cover of the magazine dressed in their wedding garb. The photo offers a first glimpse of the Paper Crown designer's couture gown and veil. The veil was secured by a glittering headband, and she wore her hair in loose waves underneath.

"I don't know that I have ever been as happy as I was walking down that aisle," she told Us. "It was amazing!"

Conrad and Tell married Saturday in Santa Ynez, California. The two were set up on a blind date on Valentine's Day 2012 and got engaged last October.

Viggo Mortensen: Fox News Is 'Appallingly Shallow And Manipulative'

$

Viggo Mortensen is all for reading things you don't agree with to get a broader sense of the world, but he just can't tolerate Fox News.

The actor dropped by HuffPost Live on Tuesday to discuss his new film "The Two Faces Of January," and he got to talking with host Ricky Camilleri about media. Specifically, he doesn't get why people use today's "constantly evolving means of communicating" to "reinforce their own point of view." Mortensen said he enjoys indulging in an alternative take, but some of it is particularly troublesome:

"I take an interest. I do listen to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and Mike Savage, and I do watch Fox News once in a while. I can only take small doses of it because they're so appallingly shallow and manipulative. ... It's like watching a really bad movie. It's like watching an Ed Wood movie and going, 'Wow.' Well, now that's an insult to Ed Wood, actually. But, you know, like a horror movie -- just poorly made."

That's not to say that left-wing media outlets aren't guilty of the same thing, but Mortensen feels conservative commentators tend to use an especially egregious method of presenting information.

"You can say that about so-called left-wing radio -- it's generally talking points as well. But I think there's more of an effort to deal with facts, even if maybe there are sins of omissions and so forth on the left as well. It's generally not as brazen of a form of lying as you get from Fox," Mortensen said.

Celebrity sightings are undeniably awesome. There's something magical about seeing that Reese Witherspoon is an actual person who shops at Whole Foods instead of a figment of your Elle Woods imagination. But sometimes, we normal folk let the excitement get the best of us, which results in these hilariously awkward fan moments, as recounted by the stars themselves:

'Mindy Project' Season 3, Episode 1 Recap: 'We're A Couple Now, Haters,' Or Whoa Nelly, Danny

$

0
After what felt like four long months away, Mindy Kaling's "The Mindy Project" returned to the air Tuesday night with an episode packed with the sort of stunts the show's devotees love, as well as the haphazard sub-plots and cameo appearances its detractors loathe.

But all in all, fans fearing that Mindy Lahiri and Danny Castellano's relationship, consummated with an incredible rom-com moment atop the Empire State Building in the Season 2 finale, would head straight to the rocks in Season 3 had plenty of relationship drama to latch onto in the Season 3 premiere titled, appropriately, "We're A Couple Now, Haters." These fans got exactly what they were hoping for with this episode, including not one but two incredible "OMG Chris Messina" moments within the episode's FIRST MINUTE.

Here's a rundown of some of our favorite moments:

  • Danny wears that skin tight hot pink polo. (Maybe a boys' size medium?) And we really mean WEARS.

  • Danny dancing for Mindy to Boston's "More Than a Feeling." (Turns out that performance to Aaliyah last season was just a preview of coming attractions. More of this please!)

  • Both times Danny removes his red-rimmed magnetic closure reading glasses.

  • Danny's bizarre hand motion for neck rubbing, which Mindy mistakes for breast fondling.

  • The hot pink "Diamond" stripper thong. Everything about this.

  • Mindy encouraging Peter (Adam Pally) to get his girlfriend Lauren (Tracey Wigfield) an $8,000 diamond tiara instead of diamond earrings.

  • The name of the strip club where Danny, a.k.a. Diamond Dan, worked to pay for medical school was Exquisite Butts. That says it all.

  • Danny plays the intro to "Let It Go" from "Frozen" on the piano.

  • Peter thought Jeremy (Ed Weeks) was gay, mistaking Jeremy's father for his boyfriend.

  • Mindy drops her best kitchen knife from the fire escape.

  • Danny carried a purse to school in fourth and fifth grade because his mother couldn't afford a backpack.

  • Danny's "American Woman" striptease. That's how you end an episode. I mean..

What we could have done without:

  • The cameo from Morgan's Cousin Lou (Rob McElhenney) to work on IT at the office was kind of a mess, though the Richard Lewis neck tattoo was a really nice touch.

  • Why Morgan (Ike Barinholtz) was so set on setting Lou up with Mindy, the "rich Indian spinstress," right in front of Danny. This made zero sense and distracted from the episode's story arc.

  • Lauren's Doctors Without Molars cameo also felt empty and incidental.

  • Tamra (Xosha Roquemore) deserves something better to do than complaining about her phone battery dying and taking video of her coworkers.

The lines that made you hit pause-rewind-replay on your DVR:
  • Morgan to Danny, explaining what Mindy said about Danny's mouth: "She said you're like a thirsty camel at a desert oasis."

  • Mindy: "I am mad charitable, I donated two cans of soup to get into a Katy Perry Q&A."

  • Beverley (Beth Grant): "I can't go, I have tickets to an execution."

  • Danny: "OK, we don't eat popsicles like that here."

  • Danny: "No, I'm not gossiping, I don't do that. This is just me reporting the questionable goings-on of people we know."

  • Danny : "I would never let my woman plan a charity event with some guy." Mindy: "And I would never plan a charity event."

  • Mindy: "I have a box with my ex-boyfriends' hair, but I keep it for curses."

  • Mindy: "Zorro? I'm too young to understand that reference."

  • Mindy: "I'm sleepy, I don't want to look at your coin collection!"

"The Mindy Project" airs on Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. EDT on Fox.

On Tuesday's "Tonight Show," actress Julianna Margulies and Jimmy Fallon played two high school principals who put an interesting twist on the morning announcements. Rather than simply regurgitating the same old daily humdrum, these administrators deliver the news by parodying Taylor Swift, Iggy Azalea and, of course, Beyoncé (aka Bey Once).

Hey, you don't get voted the most entertaining and musical morning announcement duo in the tri-county area for nothing.

Madonna Devotee Matthew Rettenmund Aims For 'Encyclopedia Madonnica: 20th Anniversary Edition'

Attention, Madonna fans: author Matthew Rettenmund needs your help for a new project he hopes will be the definitive gift for all admirers of the Queen of Pop.

Rettenmund, who is also the founder and editor of the popular gay blog Boy Culture, has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Encyclopedia Madonnica: 20th Anniversary Edition. The planned book will be a much-overdue update to 1995's Encyclopedia Madonnica, which, for years, was the literary authority on all things Madonna, featuring exhaustive A to Z entries on all of the superstar's hit albums, videos, movies and tours, not to mention her Michigan upbringing, private relationships and business deals. (Check out his campaign video above)

Of course, as Rettenmund points out, Madonna's career hasn't slowed in the two decades since the publication of the book. There's been her Golden Globe-winning turn as Eva Perón in 1996's "Evita," the smash "Ray of Light" album in 1998 and her mesmerizing Super Bowl halftime performance in 2012.

And that's just the professional. The mother of four was childless at the time of Encyclopedia's initial publication. She hadn't met her ex-husband, British film director Guy Ritchie, or Jesus Luz and Brahim Zaibat, both former flames. Her headline-generating activities on Instagram have yet to be documented, of course, because Instagram itself wasn't around in 1995.

"The first book covered the first 12 years of Madonna’s career in 200 pages," Rettenmund told The Huffington Post in an email statement. "Now, I have to cover another 20 years, and I have to do it in a way that makes the book a real value to fans spoiled by the 24/7 news cycle. I have to bring fresh material to the table, so the book will include original interviews and never-before-seen photos — I want it to be a fan’s wet dream.”

When Kim Kardashian met the comedian famous for doing impressions of her on "Saturday Night Live," she had one very pressing question: "Do we really sound like that?"

Nasim Pedrad, the actress and former "SNL" star who brought Kardashian to life in sketches like "Kimye Talk Show," opened up on Monday night's "Conan" about meeting the reality TV star.

"She was really sweet," Pedrad said. "First of all, she was in pristine airbrushed makeup, perfect hair, and I looked that day like a person who woke up in a dumpster."

"She did say at one point, 'Do we really sound like that?'" the actress continued. "I was like 'No' and she goes 'Oh good.' She was so sweet."

Nick Jonas On How Fans Have Helped Him Transition From Band Member To Solo Artist

Nick Jonas' solo career is off to a great start, with new singles "Chains" and "Jealous" released, but his past career as one-third of the Jonas Brothers band wasn't easy to put behind.

"I was a little nervous at first," he told HuffPost Live's Caitlyn Becker on Tuesday. "It takes a second just to get used to looking to your left and right and being there kinda by yourself."

While the decision for the Jonas Brothers to dissolve felt like "the right thing," it took the 22-year-old "a second to kind of come out of that," he said.

"Of course it did [hurt]," he said, adding, "Any closing of any chapter is going to come with its complications and with moments of sadness."

He called out his fans for helping make the pivot to solo artist easier.

"I think what's been interesting -- not only for me, but for the fans -- is just the real season of transition," he said. "It takes a minute anytime you come from one stage in your career and a whole other world to stepping into a new thing... but the reception to 'Chains' and now the first single 'Jealous' has been so great and the fans have been so supportive."

Luckily, Nick still sees his brothers "quite a bit," also making the transition feel more natural.

"We still have so much love for each other," he said. "It really isn't like too much has changed other than the fact that I'm just working on music on my own and touring on my own, and they're doing their own thing as well."

You already see photos of celebrities like Kim Kardashian West, Kanye West and Miley Cyrus everywhere you go. Now, thanks to Ashish Gupta, you can see them in a new place: your closet.

There was bling galore and familiar faces on the catwalk at the designer's Spring 2015 show at London Fashion Week on Tuesday. This marks the Kardashian-West's first Fashion Week "appearance." Cyrus, on the other hand, has certainly made her runway presence known this season.

But before you start imaginging all the selfie-oppportunities you might have in one of these shirts, you should know that it will cost you (around $1,550 to be exact.) Similar pieces -- which don't feature the "worlds most talked about couple" -- retail for around $1,200 , but of course adding Kimye to your sweatshirt costs an extra $300.

Celebrities didn't serve as the only adornments at the show. Another piece in the collection has the words "hi haters" emblazoned across the chest, and even Gupta himself donned a sparkly "FML" sweatshirt.

The designer clearly has an affection for pop culture, glitz, and not giving a you-know-what.

Taylor Swift Reveals Five Things To Expect On '1989'

The following article is provided by Rolling Stone.

By JOSH EELLS

Taylor Swift's fifth LP, "1989," was influenced by some of the 24-year-old star's beloved acts from the Eighties, from Phil Collins to Annie Lennox to Madonna. This time, she set out to make "blatant pop music," she tells us in our new cover story. Here's five more things she told us to expect on her studio record, out October 27th:

1. A New York state of mind
The leadoff track on "1989" tries to capture the excitement of someone who just moved to New York, as Swift did earlier this year. "I was so intimidated by this city for so long," she says. "It's so big, with so many people. I thought I would never be able to make it here, because I wasn't something enough — bold enough, brave enough to take on this huge city in all of its blaring honesty. And then at a certain point I just thought, 'I'm ready.'"

2. Lots of Max Martin
The Swedish pop giant, with help from his protege Shellback, produced almost half the songs on "1989," and is also, along with Swift, the executive producer of the album as a whole. Swift has worked with him before, on 2012's "Red," but he plays a much bigger role this time around. "I used to talk about Max Martin like he was this sorcerer who lived in a castle on a hill," says Swift. "And then one time Scott [Borchetta, the head of her label] said to me, ‘You know...you can work with him if you want to.' I was like, What?!"

3. A Fine Young Cannibals vibe
Swift's pal Jack Antonoff, who co-wrote and co-produced two songs on her album, says he and Swift shared a serious bonding moment over the Eighties pop group that had their biggest hit in 1989. "The moment when we shifted from friendship into working together was when we were talking about the snare drum on Fine Young Cannibals' ‘She Drives Me Crazy,'" Antonoff says. "Taylor brought it up first, and I was like, 'Holy shit, you're not going to believe this: I just sampled that snare in a track.' I played her one second of it on my iPhone, and she was like, ‘Send me that track.' That became a song called ‘I Wish You Would.'" "I really think 'She Drives Me Crazy' could be on the radio now," says Swift. "It's that timeless."

Taylor Swift’s 10 Countriest Songs

4. Some classic T-Swift journaling
One song was taken straight from the pages of Swift's journal, and another, "Out of the Woods," sounds like it could have been. "The thing I love about that song," says Antonoff, who co-wrote it, "is parts of it reads like a diary, and parts of it read like something 100,000 people should be screaming all together. It's got these very big lines that everybody can relate to, which are given weight by her being really honest about personal things."

Trace Taylor Swift’s Country-to-Pop Transformation in 5 Songs

5. A spirit of discovery
Maybe the biggest influence that 1989 had on "1989" was what Swift, who was born that year, describes as a feeling of freedom. "It was a very experimental time in pop music," she says. "People realized songs didn't have to be this standard drums-guitar-bass-whatever. We can make a song with synths and a drum pad. We can do group vocals the entire song. We can do so many different things. And I think what you saw happening with music was also happening in our culture, where people were just wearing whatever crazy colors they wanted to, because why not? There just seemed to be this energy about endless opportunities, endless possibilities, endless ways you could live your life. And so with this record, I thought, 'There are no rules to this. I don't need to use the same musicians I've used, or the same band, or the same producers, or the same formula. I can make whatever record I want.'"

"Saturday Night Live" will round out the first few shows of its 40th season with former cast member Bill Hader returning as host on Oct. 11. Hader left "Saturday Night Live" in 2013 after eight seasons with the show.

"SNL" previously announced that "Guardians Of The Galaxy" star Chris Pratt would host the season opener on Sept. 27, followed by Sarah Silverman who will be making her first appearance as host on Oct. 4.

Naturally, the question on all of our minds is, exactly how much Stefon will we get? (Whatever the answer, Mr. Michaels, double it.)

Ben Affleck Calls 'Bulls--t' On The Tabloids

Ben Affleck is no stranger to media scrutiny and tabloid fiction, but he managed to hone in on that less-than-enjoyable experience for his "Gone Girl" role.

Affleck spoke with Details magazine about playing leading man Nick Dunne in the upcoming "Gone Girl," due in theaters Oct. 3. Dunne gets swept away in a media storm after his wife goes missing and he's viewed as the main suspect in her disappearance. "They like me, they don't like me, they hate me, they love me," he says in the film, lamenting the mercurial environment of life under a microscope.

"I think that there are meta-comparisons that could be made," Affleck told Details. "That wasn't something that I was thinking about, playing that scene. The one aspect of this character that I can identify with is finding oneself thrust into a media narrative about oneself that's totally unrecognizable. You might go, 'Who is that person? This bears no relationship to me.'"

Back in May, the Oscar-winning actor made headlines after he was kicked out of Las Vegas' Hard Rock Casino for allegedly counting cards. Tabloids suggested Jennifer Garner couldn't handle her husband's gambling anymore.

"See, that's tabloid shit. That's all bullshit," Affleck protested. "They completely lie. I mean, I can show you 10 articles of Star and OK! -- those magazines feel totally comfortable absolutely fictionalizing every single element of the story. And there's nothing you can do about that. My only hope is that people with any common sense recognize that those stories are false. And, I don't know, there're worse stories ..."

In a recent interview with the New York Times, Affleck said the main connection he established with his "Gone Girl" character was that he, too, has "felt as though I was looking at a version of my life that I didn’t recognize through the prism of the media.”

During the days of his highly publicized relationship with Jennifer Lopez, he felt like he was “cast in a soap opera where I had no control over the lines I was saying or the story line.” He would think: “This bears no resemblance to me, and I really wish they would write me a better part. Because I don’t want to be this guy.”

Alanis Morissette On The Trauma Of Fame: I Didn't Laugh For 2 Years (VIDEO)

Before she became known in the late '90s for her alternative sound and angst-ridden lyrics, Alanis Morissette was a little-known Canadian musician who had been releasing pop albums in Canada. But, after moving to Los Angeles and exploring a more introspective approach to her music, the then-20-year-old singer released her first international album: "Jagged Little Pill." That's when her world changed.

Morissette opens up about the head-spinning aftermath of "Jagged Little Pill" in a new interview with Oprah for "Super Soul Sunday." Though she had been successful in Canada, Morissette says that her past experience in no way prepared her for the mayhem that followed the 1995 release of "Jagged Little Pill."

"We were playing 100-seater clubs and then we were playing stadiums," she recalls. "It went from zero to 650 in 3.5 seconds."

"Jagged Little Pill" received wild praise from critics, went on to win four Grammys and sold more than 33 million copies, breaking the record for a U.S. debut by a female artist. Morissette had become the success she had dreamed of, but wasn't prepared for life in such a spotlight.

"My head spun around 360. I just remember having been the person who loved to sit and watch people... and then I immediately became the watched," she tells Oprah. "That was really disconcerting."

This sudden fame took its toll on Morissette, affecting not just her psyche but also her outward behavior.

"I remember looking down a lot. I remember I didn't laugh for about two years," she says. "A lot of self-protection."

As Morissette's popularity grew, so did her fans' intensity. "People would break into my hotel room while I was doing a show and leave notes and take things," she says. "There was a lot of invading of boundaries."

The entire experience of fame had a severe effect on her. "You use the term 'PTSD,'" Oprah says to Morissette. "What do you mean, really, by that?"

"Traumatized," Morissette explains. "On some level, I think becoming famous and wanting fame, there's some trauma."

Though she readily admits that she had been seeking fame -- "I don't think it happens by mistake for anybody, frankly," she says -- Morissette also feels that life in the spotlight often does great damage, when the expectation is that it will lead to happiness and fulfillment.

"The traumatized person -- in this case, me -- gets traumatized by the very thing that I thought would be the balm," she says. "I thought that all would be helped and healed and soothed by fame... 'I will be less lonely and I will be understood and I will be loved, and that love will go in and heal any of the broken parts.'"

The type of mindset isn't exclusive to celebrities, as Oprah points out. "The truth is, there's no difference between fame or 'when I get thin' or 'when I get rich' or 'when I meet the right guy... then everything will be okay," she says. "It's the same thing."

Watch Alanis Morissette's full "Super Soul Sunday" interview on OWN this Sunday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. ET, when it also streams worldwide on Oprah.com, Facebook.com/owntv and Facebook.com/supersoulsunday.

Mayim Bialik Explains Why She Hates 'Frozen'

Mayim Bialik is not a fan of "Frozen."

Listing the multiple reasons why she dislikes the Disney blockbuster, which grossed $1.2 billion worldwide, Bialik wrote a post for her blog, aptly titled "Why My Sons and I Hate the Movie 'Frozen.'"

The "Big Bang Theory" star calls out the movie's questionable feminism, storyline of male-bashing and "women as dolls."

"My issue is that this is a movie geared to small children who I don’t think need to be focusing on that as the main driving plot of a movie, especially when it’s not a literary or historically-based fairy tale," she wrote, referring to Anna's (Kristen Bell) romantic interest in the handsome Prince Hans of the Southern Isles (Santino Fontana), who winds up double-crossing those who love him.

Which brings readers to Bialik's second issue. Yes, she is a feminist, but, she wrote, "[F]eminism doesn't equal male-bashing. And this movie isn’t empowering because it shows that a Prince is a jerk and should not have been trusted. That’s weird too. It’s just confusing."

Her third and biggest problem with "Frozen" is the physicality of the female characters. While the male characters look like "cartoon men," she says, the females do not resemble human women at all:

They have ginormous eyes. Like really ridiculously big. Teeny-tiny ski slope noses. Exaggerated delicate ski sloppiness [sic], actually. Barbie doll proportions of their bodies in general: tiny waists, ample busts, and huge heads. They look like dolls. They don’t look like the same species as the male characters even! What’s up with that?! My sons thought the females looked like BRATZ dolls, truth be told. I kind of agree.

After the its release last year, some lauded the film for its feminist plot. Like Bialik, others criticized the film's attempt. Dani Colmen outlined her problems with "Frozen" in a lengthy piece for Medium, published in February.

"'Frozen' creates the clever illusion of its own progressiveness by subtly degrading what came before it to make itself look more enlightened by comparison," Colmen wrote. "In doing so, it not only treads upon a rich history of compelling heroines in much better films; it manages to get away with being good enough."

Commentators might have more material to critique if Disney pursues the flick's "franchise potential" with a "Frozen" sequel.

New 'Star Wars' Video Teases 'Episode VII' Millennium Falcon (And The Batmobile)

"Star Wars" fans were gifted with a treat on Thursday: Video of the Millennium Falcon, which will make its reappearance in "Episode VII." Director J.J. Abrams' production company, Bad Robot, tweeted the video tour of the ship's outside, which combines the familiar "Star Wars" theme with Hans Zimmer's equally familiar score from Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. The reason for the crossover? An Easter egg at the clip's conclusion involving the Batmobile. The nerdy surprise is likely Bad Robot's response to "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" director Zack Snyder "blaming" a Stormtrooper for stealing the Batmobile, among other "Star Wars" references on Snyder's Twitter feed. (Don't ask, but head here for an explanation.) Whatever the case, this looks like a fast ship. "Episode VII" is out on Dec. 18, 2015
