Sorry, You Can't See The Leaked Celebrity Nudes Through Reddit Anymore

Reddit has finally blocked the page hosting last week's leak of celebrity nudes involving Jennifer Lawrence and other people America cares about less than Jennifer Lawrence. As Gawker notes, the page, /r/thefappening, is now met with caution tape and the announcement that it is banned.

Despite the fact that Reddit still hosts a bevy of terrible and offensive things, they chose to remove "The Fappening" because it violated site policy. In a blog post published on Saturday (Sept. 6), the "government" of the Reddit community explained their actions, which they emphasized were not a result of outside pressure:

While current US law does not prohibit linking to stolen materials, we deplore the theft of these images and we do not condone their widespread distribution.

Nevertheless, reddit's platform is structurally based on the ability for people to distribute, promote, and highlight textual materials as well as links to images and other media. We understand the harm that misusing our site does to the victims of this theft, and we deeply sympathize.

Having said that, we are unlikely to make changes to our existing site content policies in response to this specific event.

The creator of "The Fappening" is not pleased. "I am not happy," he wrote in an AMA. "If they banned my sub on Sunday (or even Monday after we broke the servers) I would be fine with it. But, they made a decision that seems based on what their lawyers say, rather than what is best for the site."

Other people who are not pleased include the women whose privacy was flagrantly violated. If only Reddit could ban the artist who plans to display the photos in an upcoming exhibit or slut-shaming or just misogyny in general.

An Incomplete List Of All The Ways Denzel Kills People In 'The Equalizer'

The following post contains nonspecific spoilers about "The Equalizer."

Denzel Washington killed a lot of people onscreen in 2004's "Man on Fire," and he kills everyone else in "The Equalizer."

The impressive part is that Washington doesn't end any lives until nearly 40 minutes into this new film, which Sony debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival. After that the floodgates open. Directed by Antoine Fuqua, "The Equalizer" is a symphony of death; Washington's Robert McCall only stops his spree because the credits finally roll. (Don't worry: Plans are already in motion for the film's sequel.)

The trick of "The Equalizer" is that McCall only kills the true bad guys: Russian pimps and mobsters. That means crooked cops are merely beaten rather than executed, and all the death is done in service of the good, embodied here by Teri (Chloe Moretz), a young girl forced into prostitution by the nefarious Russian criminals. It's all pretty standard, dadcore stuff: Fuqua's visuals recall Washington's movies with Tony Scott ("Man on Fire," "Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" and "Déjà Vu" in particular), and the revenge plot could have been a blueprint for "Taken 3."

But all that is secondary to the main event: The various methods and tools (literally tools) Washington uses to dispatch his enemies onscreen. Ahead, an incomplete list of all the things Robert McCall kills people with in "The Equalizer." Warning: Again, these are nonspecific spoilers.

Coheed & Cambria Secretly Wrote ‘Stairway To Heaven 2' On 'In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3'

Between the years of 2002 and 2003, underground rock received a number of albums that significantly molded the sounds of progressive, post-hardcore, experimental, emo, alternative rock and the many spaces that sit between. Amongst these albums were Saosin’s “Translating The Name,” Brand New’s “Deja Entendu,” The Mars Volta’s “De-Loused in the Comatorium,” Thursday’s “War All The Time,” Taking Back Sunday's “Tell All Your Friends" and Glassjaw’s “Worship and Tribute,” all marking the beginning steps of each act.

Coming in towards the end of 2003 was another album that sealed itself as legendary within the scene: Coheed & Cambria’s “In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3.” While the similarities in sound between the album and their peer’s aforementioned are undeniable, it was a rather unlikely band that had the greatest influence on Coheed during the writing of this album.

"We didn’t rely on a machine to guide us, we relied on each other to have each other’s backs."

“When we were in the studio, a lot of the production things we wanted to do, one of the bands I was listening to a lot of and who I hadn’t been exposed to very much was Queen,” lead vocalist and guitarist Claudio Sanchez told HuffPost Entertainment. "If we are looking at those bands, what we were listening to in the van was probably 'Worship & Tribute,' The Get Up Kids' 'Something to Write Home About.' We were all sort of in that world, but when we were in the studio, polishing things off and getting into a more production sort of standpoint, it brought me to these elements that I hadn’t been as exposed to. Yeah, I knew classic rock to a degree, but Queen wasn’t one of them. I ended up listening to ‘A Night at the Opera' over and over, and I think that’s where I got my sense of harmony from, just building up harmonies and making the vocals sound a little wider.”

For many, listening straight through "Silent Earth" not only bring backs memories of the first time they heard its melodies, but also of the the raw, imperfect sound of the recording that marked its time.

“We weren’t playing to click tracks, everything was reliant on Josh’s tempo,” Sanchez said. "And if it grooved, we kept it. That’s the beauty of some of those first few records, there’s a lot of movement. We didn’t rely on a machine to guide us, we relied on each other to have each other’s backs. I think that’s what makes some of those things special, that it is so very organic.”

There’re plenty of reasons why the band’s fans are so excited for the reissue of “Silent Earth.” Lines like “Pull the trigger and the nightmare stops,” and “Good eye sniper, here I’ll shoot, you run,” are permanently branded in the minds of fans; the buildup, vocalizations and final chorus chants of “Man your battle station” at the end of the title track forever anthemic. Then to top it off, the band has embarked on a nation-wide tour during which they are performing the entirety of the album (dates listed below).

For Sanchez, there’s just a special “energy” that comes in returning to “Silent Earth."

"A lot of these songs have special places in my heart. ‘The Crowing’ would probably be the one."

"A lot of these songs have special places in my heart,” Sanchez said. "‘The Crowing’ would probably be the one. Why? I’m not exactly sure. I think it’s probably because of the arrangement and the approach I took when writing it. I remember when I wrote that I was living in my parent’s house, I had some table-top 8-track. I recorded that song acoustically, at the time that’s sort of what I did, a couple acoustic guitars, a bunch of vocals and then I would showcase it to the band and the band would create the song. But I just remember writing that one and being really excited about it. Like, ‘Oh, wow. This is a step in a new direction for me.’"

“I also like ‘Light & Glass.’ That one’s kind of funny because at a time in the studio we called that song ‘Stairway To Heaven 2.’ We would have the silliest names for our songs. Our producer Mike Birnbaum was listening to the lyrics and told us that we should do a video for this song that’s very much like Led Zeppelin’s ‘The Song Remains The Same,’ where each character has this strange background. You have Robert Plant just riding on a horse, trying to save the princess on this beach or whatever. He wanted to give me a feather quill, put me in a white wig and start writing the words and who knows. It was all kind of silly.”

The reissue of “Silent Earth” drops on October 21, and can be pre-ordered on the band’s site.

The Guy From 'Million Dollar Listing' Is The Breakout Star Of Noah Baumbach's New Movie

$
0
0
Here's the best movie to premiere at this year's Toronto International Film Festival: "While We're Young," Noah Baumbach's "Frances Ha" follow-up.

Equal turns hilarious and insightful, Baumbach's latest focuses on a couple in their 40s (Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts) who become friends with a couple in their 20s (Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried). The culture wars that play out over the film's 97 minutes will especially resonate with audience members in the older demographic. Everyone else can appreciate Stiller's frazzled turn as a fledgling documentary filmmaker, his best performance since the last movie he made with Baumbach, 2010's "Greenberg." Stiller's become the closest thing to a modern-day Jack Lemmon that we have; no one expresses crushing frustration better.

Not that Stiller is the only thing going on here: Driver, Watts, Seyfried and Charles Grodin are pretty remarkable, too. (That Adam Driver is going to have a long career.) Then there's Ryan Serhant and Adam Horovitz. You know them better as that guy from "Million Dollar Listing" and Ad-Rock from Beasties Boys.

Let's start with Horovitz, who plays such a perfect embodiment of average, upper-middle class dads that you might not connect the dots right away between his character and Ad-Rock. Which is likely the point. In a movie about adults refusing to accept that they've become adults, what better way to illustrate that overarching theme than by having Ad-Rock wear khakis and carry baby in a sling? Horovitz's character has got to fight for the right to wake up multiple times a night to feed his newborn.

while were young ryan serhant
Ryan Serhant at the premiere of "While We're Young."

But if Horovitz is a subtle marvel, Serhant is the movie equivalent of street construction on a quiet morning. He plays a hedge-fund manager named Dave (Hedge-Fund Dave as the credits note) who may help Stiller's Josh fund his six-and-a-half hour documentary about America's racist prison system, the Turkish economy and a bunch of other stuff? It's not really clear, because Josh lost the thread somewhere around 2008. "So it's like 'Black Shawshank Redemption,' but real," an oblivious Dave says as he listens to Josh's pitch. Dave is an unrepentant monster who watches "Mad Men" for tips on how to be a douche bag; he probably idolized Ellis in "Die Hard." Serhant is so good at being a bro, someone should probably cast him in the "Entourage" movie.

"While We're Young," which was produced by IAC Films and Scott Rudin and Barry Diller, does not have distribution, but it's only a matter of time. This has the chance to become the biggest hit of Baumbach's career by a wide margin.

Miley Cyrus Wears Pasties Instead Of A Shirt, Continues Being Shocking

If you still have the energy in your weary bones to be shocked by Miley Cyrus prepare to be rattled once more. Saturday night, September 6, whilst you dreamed sweetly in your bed, Miley Cyrus was wearing pasties to the Alexander Wang's after party. Also, twerking.

In a "thumping warehouse in Brooklyn," as per The Cut, there was Kendall Jenner and a performance by Tyga, all of which was outshone by the glow of Cyrus' glitter-y, tasselled pasties, shaped like tiny ice creams.

Where one buys such things is unclear. It's possible that Cyrus made them herself, seeing as she is a nascent artist with a prolific set of homemade bongs and other crafts to her name. Or maybe she just ripped them off a shirt from Delia's.

Greta Gerwig Discusses What Happened To 'How I Met Your Dad'

The death of "How I Met Your Mother" spinoff "How I Met Your Dad" was met with mixed reactions, but projected lead Greta Gerwig is definitely disappointed. Chatting with Vanity Fair's Krista Smith, Gerwig discussed the show's falling apart at the Toronto International Film Festival, where her films "Eden" and "The Humbling" are premiering.

"Whatever happened to how I never met your dad?" Smith asked.

"I never met my dad," Gerwig joked. "I never met my husband. My children don't exist. No it didn't happen, I don't know. At some point somebody said, 'It's a sure thing.' And I was like, that's how you know it's not a sure thing. I loved it. I loved having a proper job. It was so amazing. I had never done a television show before."

Gerwig goes on to explain her fascination with the TV set, especially the booms, which she compares to drones.

"It was like if I was on that I know my brother could watch it and not be like, '... she's naked again,'" Gerwig said. "It would be PG for him and he could see it. I'm not going to do anything weird in it or say bad words."

Gerwig also discusses kissing Al Pacino in "The Humbling," her working relationship with her boyfriend Noah Baumbach and more. Watch the video below.

She Inspired Me: My Tribute to Joan Rivers

"Life is very tough. If you don't laugh, it's even tougher. I'm in nobody's circle. I've always been an outsider." -- Joan Rivers (Las Vegas, 2012)

And with those remarkable words from Joan Rivers, I begin my tribute to an extraordinary person.

I never met Joan Rivers; I always wanted to, but never had that special opportunity to meet her. Yet, I didn't have to meet her in person to be inspired by her. As a gay man, I always understood her humor and struggles. I, too, am an outsider. And because I choose to see the world in all of its glory and horror through my gay eyes, I was able to appreciate her contributions as a person and as an artist. I go through bouts of sadness and depression, as do many people, but Joan Rivers was always a symbol of hope for me. She was a gay man trapped in a straight woman's body.

Yes, I know that so many clichés and trite things have been said by so many people who have expressed their love, gratitude, and respect for her, but sometimes there is no other way to express the obvious truth. Joan Rivers inspired many of us to wake up each morning, get out of bed, live through each tough day, and fight to survive. And for all of us outsiders, she made our circle a fun, fabulous, popular, and loving one.

As I write this, my eyes are filled with tears. Who will allow me to escape the mundane with laughter? Who will allow me to forget the daily problems of the world? Who will inspire me to persevere through tough times? Who will remind me to hold on with white knuckles and fight for what I want and believe in? Who will remind me to speak my mind and say what others won't dare to say? Who will remind me to go against the status quo? Who will welcome me as a fellow outsider? Who will inspire me to simply live? Who will make this world a funny place?

I don't mean to seem selfish in what I am writing. I am simply trying to make sense of how fascinating humanity can be, of how one human being can impact the life of another human being, of how Joan Rivers, whom I never met, could inspire me so profoundly. And please don't misunderstand me; unlike so many people living all over the world, my life is not filled with daily atrocities. I know that I am very fortunate; however, we all live with our own demons. And Joan Rivers helped me to battle those demons. Enough said.

---

Dear Ms. Rivers,

Although you didn't know me, you were always in my circle. You will never know how much you inspired me. I am truly grateful to you. May you now rest in peace, you amazing person and fabulous diva. You will be in my consciousness forever and forever missed.

With much love and gratitude,
Michael

Kendall Jenner And Naomi Campbell Make Their New York Fashion Week Debut ... Together

We've been speculating over which New York Fashion Week shows Kendall (minus the "Jenner") would be walking in ever since she teased a photo with her portfolio in tow on Instagram. We've been trying to snag a Naomi Campbell sighting since, well, always. Now, it looks like the wait to check out both of these ladies is finally over: The two made their first appearances this year together, walking on Sunday in Diane von Fürstenberg's Spring/Summer 2015 collection.

Those who follow Jenner's runway activity may be surprised to hear this news, as she has previously appeared in edgier labels like Givenchy and Marc Jacobs. It was less surprising (although equally as exciting) to see Naomi there, looking as stunning and youthful as ever. Seeing the two of them walk the same show proves not only that Kendall is being taken seriously as a model, but also that she's one worthy of sharing the catwalk with a legend.

What do you think of the star-studded show? Sound off below!

LONDON (AP) — The Duchess of Cambridge, wife of Prince William, is expecting her second child and being treated for severe morning sickness, royal officials said Monday.

The couple's Clarence House office said they and their families were "delighted" with the baby news. The former Kate Middleton was being treated at Kensington Palace for severe morning sickness, Clarence House said.

She was hospitalized for the same condition, hyperemesis gravidarum, during her first pregnancy with Prince George, who was born in July 2013.

The illness means the 32-year-old duchess may need extra hydration, medication and nutrients.

British Prime Minister David Cameron said he was "delighted by the happy news that they're expecting another baby."

The new baby will become fourth in line to the throne, pushing Prince Harry to fifth. Toddler Prince George is third and likely to become Britain's monarch one day.

Raúl De Molina Explains Why 'Latinos Are Going To The Spanish Networks'

Raúl De Molina isn’t satisfied with the state of Latino representation on television.

In an interview with HuffPost Live, the Emmy Award-winning Univision host said that the lack of Latinos on TV could explain why large broadcast networks are losing ground in that demographic.

“Univision was number one in primetime in their ratings sweeps and this has to tell something to the major American networks,” he told host Marc Lamont Hill. “Look, Latinos are going to the Spanish networks because you guys don't have Latinos working [there].”

Despite the rise of a few Hispanic entertainers, Molina wasn’t optimistic about the prospects for diversity in television. In fact, he suggested that progress in the TV industry may have taken a few steps backward in recent years.

“'The Ed Sullivan Show,' in the 1950s, would bring acts from Latin America to be on TV. I don’t think we have that much now," Molina said. "Ricardo Montalbán and Ricky Ricardo were probably some of the top performers in the 1950s. And now, well Jennifer Lopez and Sofia Vergara [are successful Latina entertainers,] but it really hasn’t changed that much. There are only a few that can make it big in Hollywood."

Jason Reitman Got Adam Sandler To Play A Sad, Horny Dad In 'Men, Women & Children'

On Sept. 4, 2013, as Jason Reitman was about to debut "Labor Day" at the Toronto International Film Festival, news broke that Reitman had cast Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner and Rosemarie DeWitt in "Men, Women & Children." One year later, Reitman's adaptation of Chad Kultgen's novel about the dangerous ways the digital age are affecting our interpersonal relationships had its premiere in Toronto. If only the speed with which "Men, Women & Children" went from trade stories to theater screens meant the production was easy on its director.

"This was a bear," Reitman told HuffPost Entertainment one day after the premiere of "Men, Women & Children." "My producer, Helen Estabrook, came in early and said it was going to be the hardest movie I ever made. She was right."

Starring Sandler, Garner, DeWitt, Ansel Elgort, Kaitlyn Dever, Judy Greer, J.K. Simmons and Dean Norris, "Men, Women & Children" is an ensemble drama in the vein of "Crash" and "Magnolia." In truth, Reitman's film owes more to "Little Children," Todd Field's 2006 movie about suburban ennui, sexual dysfunction and the things people don't say to each other. Adding the Internet to that mix might seem like an easy task, but as Reitman explained with great animation in our chat, it was the most difficult part. Every website, from Facebook to Tumblr to YouPorn, had to be created from scratch with the maximum amount of interactivity. Reitman wanted his cast to be able to click and search, just like they would if it was real life. He even directed porn star Tori Black for a web video that Sandler's Don watches while he masturbates.

"We had months of pre-production. The funny thing is people watch the movie and go, 'Yeah, Internet.' Like it's just a walk down the street," Reitman said. "It's like, no."

This is Reitman's sixth film, and after "Labor Day" -- a weepy romance that was the worst-reviewed film of Reitman's career -- puts the 36-year-old director back on a more familiar path. HuffPost Entertainment spoke to Reitman about "Men, Women & Children" and why audiences didn't accept "Labor Day" in the way he might have hoped.

adam sandler jason reitman
Jason Reitman, Rosemarie DeWitt, Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner, Ansel Elgort and Kaitlyn Dever

What made you want Adam Sandler for this particular role?
Adam reached out to me probably about three years ago, when I was making "Labor Day." He wanted to talk about an idea he had. We sat down, and I kind of didn't know what to expect. I knew he was a nice guy, but I didn't know where his head was at as far as what movies he wanted to make. What I found was that the idea he wanted to work on was something I had actually been thinking about for a long time. We were closer than I thought, and I saw all sorts of new things in our conversation. As Erin Cressida Wilson and I started writing this movie, it dawned on me very early that Adam would be amazing as Don. But I wondered if he'd ever say yes to a movie like this; to be part of an ensemble, where the character has really tricky things he has to do. I sent him the script and that led to a month or two of conversation about what the tone of the movie was going to be. He finally said yes, and he came to the set and he was absolutely lovely. He would check in every day with me, whether he was working or not. If he wasn't working, he would text me and say, "How's Kaitlyn doing? How's Jen doing? Which scene is she doing? Is she killing it? Great." He's like George Clooney in that he just loves the process of making movies, and is so grateful to be making movies. They just want to be part of it all the time. They don't want wrap to come.

Sandler has done drama before, but this is a very different part for him. That happens, too, with Jennifer Garner and Judy Greer. As a director, do you enjoy casting people known for one thing and getting them to do something else?
I feel like my job is to try to find some sort of DNA within the actor that has connective tissue with the role and expose that. With Adam, when I met him I felt like I was engaging with a part that I hadn't seen on screen. It somehow occupies the same space as "Billy Madison" and "Happy Gilmore" and the character from "Punch-drunk Love," who was dramatic but wild in a whole different way. It's interesting because audiences have such an unusual relationship with Sandler. He's found a place in so many people's hearts that will never be occupied by somebody else. It allows you to do really interesting things. I can have a character who, as we open the movie, is masturbating by using his son's computer. Then he goes online and finds a prostitute who looks like a porn star he likes, and he goes on a date with that gal. He does crazy shit in this movie. But he does it subtly and so real, and he does it with that charm and the look in his eyes that allows us to go, "Well, he's a human being in search of intimacy." We just go with him. There are very few actors who have that.

You're active on Twitter, but it really plays such a small part in the movie compared to Tumblr and Facebook. Why?
At the end of the day, we're telling a story about people, and Twitter doesn't serve the purpose of the story. No one had a Twitter-based plot. So much of the movie is about our private lives, so it's that function of the Internet. How does the Internet function as a way for us to follow our curiosity into these dark holes where we don't know anybody and we interact with strangers? We pour our hearts out to strangers or we look to strangers for guidance. We look to them to make us feel all right about what we fear. Twitter isn't exactly that. It's the megaphone, but it's not among the ways we go to the Internet to hide.

When you have a movie like "Labor Day," which wasn't as well received as you would have liked, do you feel more pressure to get the next one right?
Not really. I know why I made "Labor Day." I think it was marketed kind of strange.

I think it should have come out on Labor Day, not even kidding.
There were a bunch of problems. But people just don't want that movie from me. I think people want something that is modern and more biting and darker -- more in the world of the movie I just made. I think they associate that with my voice. I felt a bit like a singer who said, "Hey, I'm going to try a reggae song." And they're like, "No. Don't play reggae. Fuck you. No more steel drum from you." If "Labor Day" had been my first film and it had been rejected that would have been a very complicated endeavor. "Labor Day" was my fifth film. This is my sixth film. I've made six films in nine years. Frankly, I'm less concerned about my career and more concerned about if we'll still make movies 10 years from now.

Do you think we will?
I really hope so. Things are changing, and I think you have to accept that. Cinema is only 100 years old. In the scope of historical storytelling, it's not as though cinema has been around since the wheel.

I was nervous before my premiere screening on Sunday, so I went down to the gym at the hotel. I'm on the elliptical, and on the one next to me is a famous director. He said, "You know, theater used to be ubiquitous and now it's something you do once in a blue moon. It would be sad if film became something you did once in a blue moon and just watched stuff on your laptop." But I don't have control over that. I like to make movies for the collective experience. Last night, I sat in a theater with a thousand people and we watched all kinds of uncomfortable moments together. You're sitting next to people, strangers, watching Sandler watch porn. Then you have an endearing moment or a mount that makes you laugh, and it brings you together. Which is, ironically, what this film is staring right down the lens of: Are we going to live our lives alone or together? Clearly I'm in favor of communication.

Last week, Police Chief Mark Spaetzel of Bay Village, Ohio, said his team is looking into a "reprehensible" video of area teenagers dumping feces, urine and spit onto a 15-year-old who has autism, Cleveland.com reported. The parents of the teen, whose last names have not been disclosed for the sake of privacy, said their son believed he was participating in the ALS ice bucket challenge.

As outrage over the incident gained traction nationally, Drew Carey threw his support behind local police efforts to find the perpetrators by offering to donate a $10,000 reward. Newlyweds Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg then pledged on Twitter to each match Carey's $10,000 commitment, while Montel Williams wrote on Facebook that he's also willing to make a donation.

"This has to stop," Williams wrote on his Facebook page, mentioning he'd donate, but would rather speak out against bullying at the Ohio high school where students were involved. "Our kids see what we do, what we say. It's no wonder in a country this polarized things like this happen."

Carey also tweeted on Sunday that he plans to start an online fundraising campaign.

The Bay Village community united in protest after the incident, holding an anti-bullying rally on Sept. 5, according to News Net 5 in Cleveland. Supporters held signs reading messages such as, "Respect for all is a Bay Village value," and, "We stand beside you."

Jim Sammon, who was raised in the area, participated in the rally to ensure his community stood on the side of justice.

"Seeing this in Bay is very telling," Sammon told News Net 5. "It's sad, it's pathetic, it's horrific and I wanted to come out to make sure that the community that I used to belong to and I grew up in is still the same community."

The teen's mother, Diane, discovered the clip of the incident on her son's cell phone last week. She requested Fox 8 News in Cleveland air the footage to garner support for justice.

"To see how many other parents are just as angry as we are, as if it happened to their own child, means a lot to know that there are so many people behind us," Diane told the news source.

The Bay Village police released a statement on Sept. 5 explaining Diane had reported the act against her son a few days prior. The department assured the community that it's working closely with public schools, analyzing the teen's phone (which was used to record the video) and interviewing witnesses to identify those involved in the act.

"As parents and those with friends who have children with autism, we are appalled by the actions of the youth involved in the assault on this young man," the statement reads. "It is sad and disheartening to see this type of behavior from our youth. Those involved will be held accountable for their actions."

Taylor Swift Is Living In A State Of Paranoia, Prefers You Didn't Ask Her Out Via E-mail

You should not attempt to break into Taylor Swift's New York apartment.

First, because it's wrong, but more importantly because you'd simply be contributing to an already overwhelming sense of paranoia that apparently consumes the 24-year-old superstar. Also, it sounds like trying to break in would be a pretty futile experience, according to her most recent Rolling Stone cover story.

Swift reportedly bought the Tribeca apartment for about $15 million, but Rolling Stone reveals that she spent another $5 million for the unit across the hall, where she houses her security team. So you know she's sleeping safe and sound.

Strangely, security seems to be one of the major themes of the story, as she tells Rolling Stone writer Josh Eells about the intense secrecy involved in shooting the video for her hit song "Shake It Off."

"Don't even get me started on wiretaps. It's not a good thing for me to talk about socially. I freak out," Swift says in all seriousness, before wondering if the janitor is a mole being paid to spy on her by TMZ.

The article is littered with references to Swift's paranoid state. Eells writes that "despite the DEFCON-3 level of security, in a lot of ways Swift has never felt more free." That sense of freedom comes from her new album "1989," living in New York and putting her dating life on hold -- in fact, she says she hasn't gone on a date since she broke up with Harry Styles a year and a half ago. While her romantic life is no longer taking center stage, it doesn't mean the boys aren't interested.

"Seventy percent of the time, when a guy asks me out, it'll just be a random e-mail," she says. Some movie star will get her address from his publicist and e-mail her cold. Usually she politely rebuffs them – but even if someone did penetrate that line of defense, building a relationship is hard.

Seriously? E-mails? No wonder she's rebuffing you.

There's that and she told the magazine she feels like the public started treating her dating life as some sort of "national pastime," and she's "just not comfortable providing that kind of entertainment anymore. I don't like seeing slideshows of guys I've apparently dated. I don't like giving comedians the opportunity to make jokes about me at awards shows. I don't like it when headlines read 'Careful, Bro, She'll Write a Song About You,' because it trivializes my work. And most of all, I don't like how all these factors add up to build the pressure so high in a new relationship that it gets snuffed out before it even has a chance to start. And so," she told the magazine, "I just don't date."

Shake it off, Taylor, just shake it off.

Zosia Mamet Is 'Honored' Taylor Swift Self-Identifies As Shoshanna From 'Girls'

"Girls" star Zosia Mamet hasn't spent a lot of time reading up on Taylor Swift, but she seemed pretty pleased to hear that the country songstress deemed herself to be a "Shoshanna" in this month's Rolling Stone.

"I'm honored," she told HuffPost Live's Ricky Camilleri. "That's great. [And] Shoshanna would be over the moon. Oh, she would be thrilled."

Swift, who covers the music magazine this month, described herself as being like Shoshanna because she "gets excited about things, she's really girly. And when she was in a relationship that was very comfortable, she made the decision to get out and go experience new things on her own. And now she's becoming more sure of herself and taking life head-on, in a way that I can relate to. Even though I've never accidentally smoked crack at a warehouse party and run pantsless through Brooklyn."

While Dunham told the magazine that she considered the "Shake It Off" singer to actually be more like Hannah, "minus the horrid sexual behavior. Or Marnie, if she wasn't an asshole," the actress who actually plays Shoshanna confessed that she really wasn't able to weigh in.

"I'm not a huge follower of like, what's super up-to-date with the celebs these days," Mamet admitted. "So I can't say I know a whole lot about [Swift's] public persona. I only know her for just seemingly being a really savvy, classy career lady. That's kind of what I've experienced of her."
