'Batman V Superman' Comic-Con Footage Called 'Epic,' 'Dope'

At last year's Comic-Con festivities, Warner Bros. waited until the end of its Saturday afternoon panel in Hall H of the San Diego Convention Center to officially announce Zack Snyder's Batman versus Superman film. This year, the studio surprised attendees by putting what is now called "Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice" at the beginning of its Comic-Con presentation. Snyder and stars Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman) and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) made brief appearances on the Comic-Con stage, and Snyder screened a short teaser for the 2016 release. Below, find a compilation of tweets from journalists in attendance at the Warner Bros. panel. "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" is out in theaters on May 6, 2016.

During Saturday afternoon's Warner Bros. panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the studio debuted first footage from "Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice" and a glimpse at Wonder Woman's costume in the forthcoming superhero feature. Shortly after the presentation, director Zack Snyder posted a sneak peak at the iconic comic-book heroine's new look on Twitter and Imgur:



Gal Gadot is playing Wonder Woman in "Batman V Superman" opposite Ben Affleck (as Batman) and Henry Cavill (as Superman). "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" is out on May 6, 2016.

'Game Of Thrones' Cast Continues To Prove Their Love For Each Other

The only thing rarer than seeing a White Walker in Westeros is seeing the entire "Game of Thrones" cast together in the same room. Thanks to San Diego Comic-Con, we got to see most of the gang hang out together for once. While some characters don't get along too well on screen, and others have never even met, we can tell that the "GoT" cast members totally love each other when the cameras are off (and during bloopers). Check out these photos of the cast being absolutely adorable together at the convention on Friday, July 25. Here's to hoping that they also bond with the new cast joining them in Season 5.

Biz Markie & Channing Tatum Sing 'Just A Friend' At Comic-Con

We'll go out on a limb and say that Channing Tatum and Biz Markie made the best musical duo at Comic-Con 2014. Markie made a surprise visit to "The Book Of Life" panel, which featured Tatum, Christina Applegate and Ron Perlman. A mariachi version of his legendary hit "Just A Friend" is featured in the film, but during the presentation he launched into an impromptu sing-along session. Tatum got some time on the mic and made a funny hand gesture, before the rest of the cast and audience joined in. "The Book Of Life" is out Oct. 17, 2014.

King Kong Skull Island Movie Announced During Comic-Con

During the Legendary Pictures panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, the production company announced plans to bring King Kong back to the multiplex.






In a press release following the panel, Legendary elaborated on the feature, which does not yet have a director attached:

Previous works have touched on the island, but staying and exploring this mysterious and dangerous place offers Legendary the opportunity to take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions. The film will be released on November 4, 2016.


The company screened a short teaser for the Skull Island movie during the panel:




But most journalists in attendance took the announcement as a sign of one thing: an eventual movie featuring a battle between King Kong and Godzilla. (Legendary is also the production company in charge of Godzilla's big-screen fortunes.)







Legendary's "Godzilla" sequel will arrive in theaters after director Gareth Edwards finishes work on his "Star Wars" spinoff.




King Kong, meanwhile, last appeared onscreen in 2005's "King Kong," which was directed by Peter Jackson.

A Very Small Amount Of 'Ant-Man' Footage Just Screened At Comic-Con

Marvel Studios brought the cast and director of "Ant-Man" to Hall H of the San Diego Convention Center during the studio's Saturday night Comic-Con panel. Actors Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas and director Peyton Reed were in attendance, as too were co-stars Corey Stoll (who plays the film's villain, Yellowjacket) and Evangeline Lilly (who plays Douglas' onscreen daughter, Hope Van Dyne). Stoll and Lilly had long been rumored for the film, but their involvement was made official by Marvel on Saturday.

"We've been fans of Evangeline for years, and couldn't be more pleased that she’s agreed to join us on Ant-Man's journey to the big screen," Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said in a statement. "We look forward to audiences learning more about her character when she joins forces with Hank Pym and Scott Lang in 2015."

In addition to the cast, Marvel showed off a brief teaser of test footage from "Ant-Man" to the Comic-Con crowds. Production on the film, which is set for release on July 17, 2015, doesn't begin until August. A smattering of reactions to the footage is below:























Edgar Wright was famously attached to directed "Ant-Man" for years, but he left the project in May because of creative differences with Marvel. Reed took his place a few days later.

"It's all working out very well. They couldn't be more enthusiastic now for where the movie is headed under Peyton's direction," Feige told HuffPost Entertainment in a recent interview. "Yeah, there was a certain amount of shock and disappoint, as there was for all of us, when we parted ways with Edgar. But they're all professionals and all excited for the film and for the ideas behind the film and for where we're taking the film. Now it is an awesome and unified cast and crew moving forward."

As many observers noted, however, Lilly revealed during the panel that she had not yet received a finished script for the film. That will likely change soon, as "Ant-Man" is due out in less than a year.

'Avengers' 2 Comic-Con Footage Offers 'Darker,' 'Incredible' Look At 'Age Of Ultron'

During Marvel's Comic-Con panel on Saturday night at the San Diego Convention Center, studio boss Kevin Feige and the cast of "Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron" unveiled new footage from the forthcoming sequel. The follow-up to "Marvel's The Avengers," the 2012 blockbuster that earned more than $1.5 billion in worldwide grosses, is set for release on May 1, 2015. Joss Whedon, who was not present at Comic-Con because he recently underwent knee surgery, is the film's director. Needless to say, journalists and fans in attendance for the Marvel presentation were impressed with the footage. A compilation of their enthusiastic tweets are below.
















































"Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron" reassembles Avengers superheroes Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), while also introducing Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) to the mix. James Spader is set to play the villainous Ultron in the film.

In addition to the footage from "Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron," Marvel also announced official casting for "Ant-Man" and revealed that "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" would arrive in theaters on July 28, 2017.

This month, Marvel Studios announced plans to add six films to its always expanding slate of features. It was expected that the studio would perhaps announce a few of those titles during its Comic-Con presentation on Saturday night, but only one name was revealed: "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" will arrive on July 28, 2017. James Gunn will return to write and direct the sequel, which follows next week's "Guardians of the Galaxy."




As for the rest of the Marvel schedule, "Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron" is out on May 1, 2015. Peyton Reed's "Ant-Man" arrives two months later, on July 17, 2015. "Captain America 3" comes next on May 6, 2016. After that and excluding "Guardians 2," there are seven unnamed or unannounced films on the calendar: July 8, 2016, May 5, 2017, Nov. 3, 2017, May 4, 2018, July 6, 2018, Nov. 2, 2018 and May 3, 2019. ("Doctor Strange" is expected to arrive on that July 8, 2016 slot, but Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige made no reference to the film during the Comic-Con panel despite rumors that Joaquin Phoenix would be announced as star of the film during the event.)

"Guardians of the Galaxy" is out on Aug. 1.

Girl Football Sensation Sam Gordon Returns To The Gridiron; Watch Her Get Ready (VIDEO)

Look out, boys. Sam Gordon is back.

Sam, the girl football sensation who skipped last year to focus on soccer, will return this season to play youth tackle football, her dad said. Tryouts begin July 28.

"She is super excited to play," Brent Gordon told The Huffington Post.

In the video above, Sam recently attended the University of Michigan's football camp to prepare, showing off her speed and agility. She is entering sixth grade and now stands 4-foot-2 and weighs 70 pounds.

Sam, who's from South Jordan in the Salt Lake City area, became a celebrity in 2012 when her dad posted a highlight reel of her dominating the boys on YouTube. That season as a fourth-grader, she rushed for 1,911 yards and 35 touchdowns for the Herriman District team in the Ute Conference.

The Internet exposure led to talk show appearances, the cover of a Wheaties box and an invitation from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to attend the Super Bowl as his guest.

Last fall, Sam hung up her shoulder pads to focus on qualifying for a high-level spot in the sport she played before football.

"She made the state soccer Olympic Development Program and feels good about where she is at in soccer so she is going to play football again this year," her dad told HuffPost. Asked if Sam worried about getting injured in football, Brent Gordon replied, "Sam always says, 'If they can’t catch me, they can’t hurt me!' "

Joan Rivers Defends Israel With New York-New Jersey War Analogy

When asked about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, comedian Joan Rivers didn't hold back with TMZ. In the clip above, she likened Israel's position to that of New York if it were attacked by New Jersey.

It's probably not the geopolitical example you were expecting.

Selena Gomez and Howard Stern are among other celebrities to weigh in on the hostilities. However, Rivers might be the first to use a hypothetical trans-Hudson River war to get her point across.

On Sunday, July 27, Jessica Simpson shared the following photo of her adorable son Ace, playing with both CaCee Cobb's son Rocco and what appears to be a most enchanting ottoman.



At 13 months, Ace did an impressive job of standing up to play with the fascinating beaded material.

As People notes, Cobb and Simpson have formed a friendship between their children in recent months that has at least once been called a "baby bromance."



Simpson, who married Eric Johnson earlier this month, has turned her Instagram into a lovely family album, featuring her babies and also other babies. Here she is with a particularly cute one named Wyatt.

Courtney Love Says Kurt Cobain Biopic To Go Into Production Within Next Year

In an interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Courtney Love said that the biopic focusing on her late husband and Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain, will go into production within the next year. Love told the outlet that she will be involved in the casting and production processes, as well as her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, and Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic. The role of Cobain has yet to be cast.

“CAA (Creative Artists Agency) directly sent me actors’ (demo) reels,” Love told Philippine Daily Inquirer. “That was really tough because these boys are so pretty, so cute. I won’t name names because I don’t want to jinx it for anyone but these are 25-year-olds who are blond, gorgeous and the new Brad Pitts. There’s a ton of those. Some are really good actors, not just pretty faces. I don’t want to be the person who makes that decision. Let’s leave that to the agents; I have great agents now. But I will have a say in it.”

In the past, actors like Ryan Gosling, Robert Pattinson, Ewan McGregor and Jared Leto have been mentioned as possible onscreen incarnations of Cobain. Love has also discussed a documentary about Cobain, which is attached to Brett Morgen, famous for "The Kid Stays in the Picture," as well as the possibility of a Cobain-inspired musical.

Piper Perabo Marries Stephen Kay In A 'Covert Affair'

"Covert Affairs" star Piper Perabo married Stephen Kay on Saturday, July 26, US Weekly reports. After a ceremony in New York City, Perabo and Kay hosted a ceremony nearby with a "New Orleans-style band in tow."

The couple, who works together on the show -- Kay directs and produces -- got engaged in September.

According to Just Jared, Kay has previously dated such "Desperate Housewives" as Teri Hatcher and Eva Longoria. Perabo, however, has "kept mum" about her relationship (so that "Covert Affair" pun in the title is completely justified).

'Mad Max: Fury Road' Trailer Places Tom Hardy And Charlize Theron In The Beserk

The trailer for "Mad Max: Fury Road" had all of Comic-Con buzzing, and now the three-minute clip has the Internet buzzing. It does not disappoint the hype.

Switching Tom Hardy in place of Mel Gibson, director George Miller brings a "new interpretation" to his own franchise reboot. "Fury Road" picks up after the initial series opener, and is described by Miller as "almost a continuous chase."

"Of course it's based on the same character that they'll play, the lone warrior in the wasteland disengaged from the rest of the world," Miller said in a press conference. "But naturally Tom brings his Tom Hardy-ness to it, and the story is different to some degree. The character is different to some degree."

Charlize Theron stars with Hardy in the film, along with Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Watch the terrifying trailer above. The movie is scheduled to release on May 15, 2015.

Hilary Duff Promotes New Single 'Chasing The Sun' With Airplane Message, Shares Bikini Photo

The lucky people on the right beaches across the United States at the right time may have noticed a special message flying across the sky on Saturday, July 26, promoting Hilary Duff's upcoming single, "Chasing the Sun."

Opting for airplane promotion, because why not, Duff tweeted out a picture of herself wearing a two-piece paired with a flowing cover-up, she wrote, "I swear the #chasingthesun plane is in the sky lol squint and look really hard." By looking really hard, the recent RCA signee meant printing out the picture and then acquiring the world's finest magnifying glass.

However, Duff made sure to tweet out plenty of photos of the spotted planes, with a final tweet of a close-up shot of the banner, revealing that her single will drop on Tuesday, July 29. "Chasing the Sun" will be the first release off of her first album since 2007's "Dignity."

Devious Maid's Dania Ramirez On Her Humble Beginnings and Raising 7-Month-Old Twins

Dania Ramirez easily recalls her humble beginnings in the Dominican Republic. Her parents came to the United States when she was six-months-old and left Ramirez in the care of her grandmother until they could bring her into the U.S. with them at 10-years-old.

Of her time in the Dominican Republic she says that there was "no real roof on the house... no running water so we had tanks out to gather rain water... and no electricity most of the time, but we found a way to have fun and laugh, play, sing, dance, eat."

Then she was sent to live with her Aunt in the capital, Santo Domingo and experienced more of city life. There Ramirez, "climbed trees, played canicas, and jumped from roof to roof to throw rocks at a tamarind tree, and steal them, and ran away. Just simple but happy!"

Now Ramirez, who stars in Lifetime's Devious Maids, is the mother of seven-month-old twins: Daughter Gaia Jissel and son John Aether, along with Kai, her 12-year-old stepson. She married director Bev Land on the beach in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in 2013.

She is currently producing her first film, Talbot County, a modern take on a Hitchcockian horror film set in the '80s, which is written and will be directed by her husband.

In an upfront Q&A, Dania shared the details of her life now, balancing a family and the acting career she dreamed of as a child.

So far, what has surprised you most about being a mom?

How incredibly hard and gratifying it's been. I am so in love. There is nothing I wouldn't do for them. But I just want them to learn, love and appreciate everything so it is a huge responsibility.

What do you worry about most as a mom? How do you cope with the maternal anxiety?

That they are healthy. I try to just do the best I can.

What was the birthing process like for you?

Difficult. I was very sick from the very beginning, as I'm sure everyone is, but I started having real difficulties and the doctor put me on bed rest for almost two months at the end of my pregnancy.

Are the twins breast-feeding or bottle-feeding?

I breast-fed and bottle-fed them for the first two months. They were so tiny. Then, I began work just shy of three weeks of having them and it became more and more challenging. They are seven months now and are bottle-fed only.

What kinds of things -- diet and exercise -- have you done to get back in shape after giving birth?

I've done everything! Juice cleanse at first with vegetable and protein juices, weight trained, bike. I like to eat healthy and I love to cook, so I eat at home and that has helped. Plus, after running around with two babies and work, I got right back in shape.

What is your day-to-day schedule like with work and the twins? Are you getting any sleep?

At first sleep was just not an option, I began filming Devious Maids in January and gave birth December 17. By the time I fed and burped one and changed a diaper, it was time to do the other and with the show I was working nonstop. Thank God for my husband and my mom who came out to help me for the first three months.

What is the best advice about parenting you have received?

Don't over buy them clothes because they will grow out of them sooner than they can wear them all -- by my husband, of course!

How will the way you were parented affect your parenting? What are the values you most want to pass on to your kids?

I had incredibly tough women raising me. Then, my mom and dad were very strict, but now that I am grown I feel like I was lucky to have people that cared so much! Even when my mom and dad were not in DR with me, their discipline was always present.

I know I will be strict as far as manners and keeping them grounded. I want my kids to feel love and commitment from me. However, I don't want to be so rigid that I don't relate to my children. I do think it's important to be a parent and not just their best friend. I would like to find an even balance. I want them to be who they are and celebrate it!

What is the secret to your marriage?

Love... life is so crazy and complicated, without that I don't know how anything works.

Tell me what you enjoy most about your role on Devious Maids?

Rosie is such a complex role. I am having the best time playing her. I can be funny without telling a joke and fall in love all at once! She is so honest and her story is such one I relate to that the work for me is just fun. I want her to help people and have best friends and hurt so that I can explore her finding her way back to happiness once again.
