Best Tweets: What Women Said On Twitter This Week

This week was full of some perfectly hilarious 140-character jokes. Lane Moore brought some comedic relief to the truth of growing up when she tweeted: "'It's basically just making endless phone calls you don't wanna make' -- me describing adulthood to a child." Pretty much.

Elsewhere, Twitter user Valerie made us feel a little less guilty about pushing back laundry day: "Fact: Women who don't wear underwear never get their panties in a bunch." Here's to a stress-free weekend.

Is it a god? Is it a fashion guru? Is it a recently married celebrity? It is Kanye West.

West graces the cover of GQ's August issue wearing a beige jacket and a white tee that probably costs more than any shirt you own. The issue, which hits stands on July 29, features West opening up about his recent wedding with Kim Kardashian, being a (self-proclaimed) god of fashion and how he keeps his lifestyle outrageous.

Kim also shared a photo of Kanye's cover on Instagram and wrote "So sexy! My husband on the cover of GQ shot by Patrick Demarchelier!!!"

Selena Gomez's See-Through Top Is ... Interesting

Selena Gomez wore a see-through outfit to a press conference during the Ischia Global Film & Music Festival in Italy. This outfit involved a long-sleeve collared shirt embroidered with roses, a cute white bra to match and a skirt that maybe doesn't match. Earlier this week, Gomez wore a pretty floral maxi dress and took selfies with shirtless fans in Ischia. That looked like more fun.

George Takei Tells Bill Maher Why He Can't Stand William Shatner

The fact that "Star Trek" costars George Takei and William Shatner don't get along in real life is a sad thing for Trekkies to face.

While visiting "Real Time With Bill Maher," Takei addressed his longtime feud with the original Captain Kirk. Maher joked, "But he's Canadian, he should love you!" before Takei went on to explain how, for him, Shatner is the exception to that myth. "Canadians have a certain image of being even-tempered and friendly and all that,” Takei said. "He is a person who is that way with himself ... he is very self-centered."

Takei said that despite their disagreements they still acted like professionals on set, though "with a lot of difficulty." Check out the full clip above.

Neil Patrick Harris Really Wants To Be On 'American Horror Story'

Neil Patrick Harris may be busy with his Broadway gig in "Hedwig and the Angry Itch," but that doesn't stop him from wanting to guest star on "American Horror Story."

During a visit to Entertainment Weekly Radio, Harris revealed that he really wants to be on "American Horror Story: Freak Show." Even though the actor will be on Broadway until August 17, his final night as Hedwig, he says he asked Ryan Murphy about a cameo anyway. "I wrote a letter to Ryan, asking if I could be in it. And he didn't respond," Harris said.

On Friday, July 18, however, Murphy finally responded. In a tweet the "AHS" creator said he has a role in mind for Harris.

Murphy got Stevie Nicks to come on the show last season, so we don't see why he wouldn't work his magic again to make this awesome cameo happen.

Zendaya Explains Why She Exited Lifetime's Aaliyah Biopic: The Production Value Wasn't There

Lifetime cast a new lead in its Aaliyah biopic after Zendaya Coleman backed out of the role last month without comment. Nickelodeon actress Alexandra Shipp will now take her place, but Coleman took to Instagram to explain why she exited the made-for-TV movie.

In three separate videos (watch them below) she said she didn't leave because of the haters like many fans thought. "The main reason is that the production value wasn't there, there were complications with the music rights, and I just felt like it wasn't being handled delicately considering the situation," she said.

Aaliyah died in a plane crash at age 22 in 2001 and her family has been outspoken about fighting the film. Zendaya addressed their concerns and said, "I tried my best to reach out to the family on my own, and I wrote a letter, but I was unable to do so; therefore, I felt not really morally OK with moving forward with the project."

She wished Shipp well in the new role and asked fans to drop the drama. "Let's practice motivation and love; not discrimination and hate. All right?"

David Beckham received a lot more than a trophy at Nickelodeon's inaugural Kids Choice Sports Award. The former Manchester United and LA Galaxy soccer star took the stage with sons Romeo and Cruz to collect the event's Legend Lifetime Achievement Award, and got a slime-filled shower in the process. Nickelodeon's been sliming celebrities since the '80s (do you feel old yet?), so Becks is joining an illustrious list.

Uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh, oh, no, no: Beyoncé used Saturday night to tease "Fifty Shades of Grey." The singer posted a teaser to the forthcoming film's trailer on her Instagram account, whetting appetites for the S&M drama that's due out in theaters on Feb. 13, 2015. Things to note: Christian Grey's hand, Anastasia Steele's thighs and a new version of "Crazy in Love," one with more breathiness than ever before. According to the clip, the first "Fifty Shades of Grey" trailer will arrive on Thursday, July 24. Let's assume Beyoncé has some involvement with the soundtrack? Or maybe she's just a big fan:

Rita Ora's 'My Little Pony' Hair Is A Must-See On Our Beauty List

Celebs color their hair all shades of the rainbow (ahem, Nicole Richie), but we thought our eyes were playing tricks on us when we saw Rita Ora's new colorful hairdo.

The 23-year-old British singer made an appearance at Michalsky Style Night in Berlin sporting a purple, teal and blonde dip-dyed ponytail that reminded us of "My Little Pony." The colorful tresses cascaded beautifully against her shoulder and added an unexpected pop to her all-black outfit.

Check out Ora's '80s-tastic hair below and see which other stars made this week's best and worst beauty list.

BEST: Rita Ora

rita ora

Isn't this multicolored hairstyle rad? It almost deflects attention away from Ora's gelled sideburns. But with her neutral makeup, we give it a thumbs up.

BEST: Debra Messing

debra messing

"The Mysteries of Laura" star's red hair looks really ravishing. Styled in big barrel curls, Messing's hair frames her face perfectly and accentuates her peachy makeup and navy eyeliner.

BEST: Jessica Chastain

jessica chastain

jessica chastain

Chastain is a vision of summer with her full, copper bangs, metallic gold eyeshadow and coral lipstick. The twisted updo helps to showcase those gorgeous chandelier earrings.

BEST: America Ferrera

america ferrera

We're getting pinup girl vibes from Ferrera with her glossy, side-swept waves, flirty eyelashes and red lips. Dewy skin helps to give this look a modern touch.

WORST: Kate Hudson

kate hudson

We're huge fans of '90s-inspired dark lipstick. However, this burgundy shade looks garish against Hudson's super tanned skin.

WORST: Rose McGowan

rose mcgowan

McGowan barely looks recognizable with her jet black locks all pulled back. We wished she would've spent a bit more time carefully choosing the best wine lip color for her porcelain complexion and filling in her brows so that they don't appear noticeably different.

WORST: Karina Smirnoff

karina smirnoff

The "Dancing With The Stars" professional has a lot going on with her over-plucked eyebrows, white eyeliner and melon red lipstick, which doesn't flatter her bronzed skin.

WORST: Alexia Dox

alexia dox

This is a messy fishtail braid to the extreme! While her makeup isn't entirely terrible, we just can't stop staring at all the flyaways.

Khloe Kardashian And Scott Disick Take A Bath Together

Here we have a photo of Khloe Kardashian and Scott Disick taking a bath together. He's wearing a life vest, she's wearing a lifeguard bathing suit. It's all a hilarious joke about bubble baths not being as big as the ocean, get it? Oh, no, you don't get it? Us either, really. There are a lot of inexplicable things about this photo, like why is there a microphone? And where is Kourtney? Or, as US Weekly asked, "Splish, splash, they were taking a bath?" That is a good bath, though. The bubble density looks particularly fluffy, so you do have to commend them or the hired help that probably drew the bath for that.

Continuing his video-per-day Internet takeover, Weird Al presents us with some Sunday mandatory fun in his latest release, "Lame Claim to Fame."

Paired with a neat stop motion video, Weird Al jabs at people's celebrity obsession, pointing out that standing behind Steven Seagal in the checkout line, or using the bathroom stall next to Jonah Hill doesn't make one friends. He even gets a little meta when he makes a reference to the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. The song is written in the style of Southern Culture on the Skids.

Adam Levine, alleged Sexiest Man Alive and person who knows you think he's a douchebag, is now married to Behati Prinsloo. According to People, the couple tied the knot in Mexico on Saturday night, July 19th, in front of an intimate group of approximately 275 guests, which included Robert Downey Jr.

Levine, 35, and Prinsloo, 25, got engaged in June of 2013 after dating for a year. While preparing for their wedding, Levine spoke openly about being ready to settle down. "I definitely feel like I'm sitting in the chair I'm supposed to be sitting in right now," he told People. "It all feels very natural."

E! News reports that Levine "looked dapper in a fitted tux," while Prinsloo wore a white Marchesa gown. The couple, who is headed to South America for their honeymoon, received no gifts from Robert Downey Jr. or anyone else, having requested that guests donate to the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.

There is no report as to whether "She Will be Loved" was played on infinite loop at the reception, but it probably was.

Skye McCole Bartusiak has died at age 21. She was best known for her role as the youngest daughter of Mel Gibson's character in "The Patriot."

Bartusiak was found dead in her Houston home on Saturday. "We lost our girl," her mother Helen McCole Bartusiak told CNN. "She was a kind and really beautiful girl."

CNN further reports that investigators have yet to determine a cause of death, though Bartusiak's mother notes she had been suffering from epileptic seizures in days prior. According to Variety, she died while she was sleeping. Her body was discovered by her boyfriend, who found her sitting up in bed.

Aside from her memorable role in "The Patriot," the 21-year-old was known for her parts in "Cider House Rules" and "Don't Say A Word." She also appeared on various television shows, including "24," "Lost," "CSI" and "House." Her mother noted that she was preparing to produce and direct her first feature film.

Robert Downey Jr. Tops Forbes' List Of Highest Paid Actors Yet Again

$

0
Earning an estimated $75 million, Robert Downey Jr. has topped Forbes' ranking of highest paid actors for the second year in a row.

As Entertainment Weekly notes, this is all the more impressive considering Downey Jr. released only one movie over the course of the year in question (June 2013 to June 2014). Jon Favreau's "Chef" was a "charming treat," but Forbes notes that the majority of Downey Jr.'s earnings come from backend payments off "Iron Man 3," which grossed over $1.2 billion worldwide in 2013.

Downey Jr. is followed by Dwayne Johnson, at $52 million, who has spent the year making movies like the upcoming "Hercules" and "San Andreas." Next on the list are Bradley Cooper ($46 million), Leonardo DiCaprio ($39 million) and Chris Hemsworth ($37 million).

Tom Cruise (who topped the list in 2012) is conspicuously missing, and it does seem that the combined net worth of this list has dropped off a quite bit from where it stood last year, but what's a hundred million dollars here or there between A-list stars?

Check out the full ranking over at Forbes, and remember the tally for next year starts today.

Bill Murray's Newest Character Is a Great Addition to the Greatest Comedic Roster Ever. See for Yourself.

Bill Murray means more to you than you may realize.

With the arrival of the trailer for his new "dramedy," St.Vincent, it looks like the comedic genius is set to carve out another character who will live on in cinema history as a great one. Between the smoking, drinking and complete disregard for those around him, his Vincent de Van Nuys seems like a perfect vessel for all that we love about Murray. Add to the mix that his main foil will be a 10-year-old kid who needs a little guidance and the stage is set for some dialogue that will get its due through the iconic presence of a Hollywood legend. And a legend he is.

One look at this list and you will be scouring Netflix for as many of these golden oldies as you can find. I challenge you to find another actor who has a repertoire like this guy. Where Is The Cast Of 'Happy Days' Now?

$
0
0
Whether it was Sunday, Monday, or another day of the week, "Happy Days" had fans falling in love with a middle class American family living in the 1950s. From comebacks to catchphrases and catchy opening jingles, the show had everything, which is why -- three decades after the final episode aired -- we're still talking about it.

A lot can happen in 30 years, and since the anniversary of the series' finale is coming up soon, we thought we'd find out what really happened to some of our favorite characters from the show. Take a look at what the cast of "Happy Days" is up to now.

Henry Winkler / Arthur Fonzarelli
henry winkler

Then:
Known to fans as simply “The Fonz,” Henry Winkler was the James Dean of "Happy Days." The greaser, who worked at the auto shop, rode a motorcycle, sported that now-famous leather jacket and made “eyyy” the coolest catchphrase ever, was definitely the most beloved by fans.

Now:
Winkler went on to establish his own production company, Fair Dinkum Productions, that spawned shows like "MacGyver" and "Hollywood Squares." He came back to the acting world, starring in a few Adam Sandler movies and made guest appearances on "Arrested Development" and "Parks and Recreation" before nabbing his current role on USA’s "Royal Pains." Winkler is also the author of a series of children’s books that center on a boy with dyslexia, a learning disability the actor suffered with for years before finally being diagnosed later in life. He still stays in touch with his former co-stars and is even the god-father of Ron Howard’s daughter, actress Bryce Dallas Howard. Oh, and if you aren’t following him on Twitter, you’re missing out!

Ron Howard / Richie Cunningham
ron howard

Then:
Richie was the All-American boy on the show. With his ginger locks, freckled mug and “aww shucks” demeanor, the letterman jacket-wearing high schooler quickly found a place in fans' hearts. While Richie did get into some trouble -– especially when it came to the ladies -– he was the moral center of the sitcom and it wasn’t until he left, first to join the Army and then become a big-time writer in Hollywood, that we realized how much we missed the clean-cut teen.

Now:
Howard got his start as a child star -- he first-played Andy Griffith’s son on "The Andy Griffith Show" -- but during "Happy Days," the redhead was bitten by the directing bug and left to follow other Hollywood pursuits. He’s helmed plenty of award-winning films since then –- he was behind the camera for movies like "Splash," "Apollo 13," "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" and "The Da Vinci Code" –- and he even won the Academy Award for Best Director for his work on "A Beautiful Mind" starring Russell Crowe. Currently, Howard’s busy filming a new movie with Chris Hemsworth and it was just announced that he will be directing a Beatles biopic, which aims to follow the band’s early years.

Tom Bosley / Howard Cunningham
tom bosley

Then:
Mr. C was your typical, middle-class working dad with hobbies that included sitting in his comfy recliner, attending meetings at the Leopard Club and staying faithful to his Republican views. While he was a bit rough around the edges and could often be found lecturing Richie and his pals whenever one of their harebrained ideas backfired. Howard Cunningham was secretly a big softie who cared for everyone on the show and believed in family above all.

Now:
Though Tom Bosley is best-known for his time on “Happy Days,” he was already an accomplished stage actor before landing his famous TV gig. Bosley won a Tony for his performance in the critically-acclaimed Broadway musical “Fiorelli!” and appeared in films and on stage years before he took on the role of Mr. Cunningham. After the show ended, Bosley went on to guest star in everything from "Rugrats" and "Walker, Texas Ranger" to "ER," "One Tree Hill" and "That '70s Show." In 2010, Bosely starred in the Jennifer Lopez film "The Back-up Plan." Sadly, that same year, Bosley passed away after fighting a long battle with lung cancer. TV Guide named his character as one of the 50 Greatest TV Dads of All Time.

Erin Moran/Joanie Cunningham
erin moran

Then:
Fonzie’s “Shortcake” and Richie’s spunky sister, Joanie was the youngest member of the Cunningham crew and the teen had a penchant for falling in love quickly. Her romance with Fonzie’s cousin Chachi in later seasons made for some great musical (and comedic) moments on the show and the two starred in their own spin-off before returning to get married during the final season of “Happy Days.”

Now:
Erin Moran hasn’t been having many happy days recently. The actress, who had a few small roles on shows like "Murder She Wrote" and "The Love Boat," appeared in VH1’s "Celebrity Fit Club" in 2008 before finding herself homeless and in trouble with the law a few years later. The last we heard of the star, she was broke, had been kicked out of her trailer, was living as a recluse in an Indiana hotel room and having marital troubles with her husband of 20 years. There was talk of Moran joining her co-star Henry Winkler on the series "Arrested Development" but the actress never made an appearance on the show.

Marion Ross/Marion Cunningham
marion ross

Then:
The matriarch of the Cunningham clan, Marion Cunningham, or Mrs. C, was the mother we all wanted. Sweet-tempered, good-natured, loving and smart, she ran the family while letting husband Howard think he was the man in charge. Mrs. C often worried about her family and usually tried to meddle in places she shouldn’t, but hey, that’s what moms do! And that’s why fans of the show loved her.

Now:
After leaving Mrs. C behind, Ross went on to do other TV projects. She starred in the short-lived "Brooklyn Bridge," which won a Golden Globe Award and was also nominated for an Emmy. She’s also guest-starred on shows like “The Gilmore Girls,” “Touched By An Angel” and “Two and A Half Men.”

Scott Baio/Chachi Arcola
scott baio

Then:
Wa, wa, wa, who didn’t love Chachi? The young heartthrob of the show and Joanie Cunningham’s love interest was first introduced as Fonzie’s younger cousin in 1977. He became a fan-favorite, especially among female viewers and Baio was reported to receive over 5,000 fan-letters per day while filming the show. Eventually, Chachi and Joanie got their own spinoff where the two made a living singing in a family-owned restaurant but the couple returned to “Happy Days” for its final season and were married before the series ended.

Now:
After his turn on “Happy Days,” Baio went on to star in the TV sitcom “Charles in Charge” about a college student working as a live-in nanny. The show lasted five seasons and afterwards, Baio made a couple of TV movies before taking a guest starring stint on "Arrested Development." Baio also starred on a couple of VH1 reality series including "Scott Baio Is 45 … and Single" and "Confessions of a Teen Idol," which followed the actor and another child star as they tried to find their way back into the limelight.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story stated that it has been two decades since the finale aired. It has been three decades.

Kate Middleton Has Been Getting Her Martha Stewart on

Last month, during an annual palace briefing in London, it was revealed that Kate and William are planning to add a second kitchen to their four-story apartment, which already features a recently renovated 350-square-foot kitchen. It was said, for this second kitchen, that the couple wanted a "private, family kitchen," to be carved out of an existing office space, and officials made it clear that William and Kate would be paying for it themselves.

SEE MORE: The Most Adorable Pictures of Prince George

And now it's clear that Kate is really leaning into this culinary hobby of hers, as the Duchess has recently completed a two-week cooking class at Leiths cookery school (which reportedly costs about $2,700). We know this thanks to the testimony of one of her classmates, Rachel Khoo, a British celebrity chef, who, per the Telegraph, recounted, "Kate was in my class . . . [she] was ill for a few days, so I took notes for her. She was a lovely person, but she kept to herself." (Side note: can you imagine taking notes for Kate Middleton?! It would take us 15 minutes to write the word "stir.") We're sure Kate is not exactly thrilled about Khoo's spilling the proverbial royal beans here; though, frankly, we're surprised the rest of her classmates were able to restrain themselves from taking covert grainy Instagrams of Kate cutting carrots, or calling an emergency meeting of everyone they've ever met to inform them they had just seasoned a chicken with the Duchess of Cambridge.

Given Kate's newly acquired culinary knowledge, and William's agricultural education, we can only hope these two start some sort of farm-restaurant operation together. They could call it "Kate Expectations" or "Killiam with Kindness," or, if they want to give a nod to their son, "By George!," and Harry could serve drinks, and Pippa could help plan parties and functions, and George could come out for a quick lap at the beginning of the night, before the first seating.
