'I Wanna Marry Harry' Star Doesn't Feel Guilty For Faking It

The things we do for love.

Before he goes on national television to fool 12 women into thinking he's British royalty, Matthew Hicks stopped by Huffpost Live to explain why he doesn't feel bad for impersonating the U.K.'s most famous ginger. For anyone not familiar with Hicks or his new Fox reality show "I Wanna Marry Harry," think "Joe Millionaire" meets "Downton Abbey." The series ships 12 American women across the pond for a chance to find true love. Although the girls think their eligible bachelor is none other than Britain's playboy prince, the man donning the knock-off crown is actually Hicks, a regular bloke who isn't in line for anything, let alone the British throne.

And while it's easy to label Hicks as a lying scumbag who will do anything for his 15 minutes of fame, the good-natured Brit warns that viewers shouldn't take the show too seriously.

"It's a reality TV show," Hicks said. "It's a bit of fun. It was all just an absolute barrel of laughs for six weeks."

We saw a lot of things in the teaser trailers -- cat fights, steamy make-out sessions and plenty of tears -- but oddly, laughing never made the cut.

Hicks also said anyone questioning the ethics of the show should remember everyone on camera agreed to be there. "Yeah, we got emotionally invested in it but everyone signed up and sort of knew what they were in for," Hicks explained.

But the dashing redhead isn't completely heartless when it comes to faking it with the girls, adding, "Hopefully no one's emotionally scarred from it all."

We think the jury's still out on that one.

"I Wanna Marry Harry" premieres Tuesday, May 27th at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.

The Cannes Film Festival Style Is Bold, Red And Ruffled All Over On Day One

It's the most wonderful time of the year, for celebs at least.

And no, we don't mean the Met Gala (although it's a pretty close second), we mean the International Cannes Film Festival, where stars from all over the world flock to southern France to celebrate film and, of course, fashion.

But not all the reviews can be positive (for the movies OR the dresses) on Day One.

Nicole Kidman started out the day on a high note in an all-white Altazurra dress, but later shocked us with her ability to hold up a heavy-looking Armani Privé. Blake Lively wowed us in a red Gucci number and Karlie Kloss kind of looked like she stepped out of an ad for her beloved Victoria's Secret in Valentino. Check out all the fabulous fashion from Day One of the festival below. What's your favorite look?

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — "Harry Potter" star Emma Watson is graduating from Brown University.

The 24-year-old British actress is due to graduate this month from the Providence, Rhode Island, Ivy League university with a degree in English literature. Watson started at Brown in 2009. Along the way, she spent time studying at England's Oxford University and keeping up her film career.

A Brown spokesman says Watson is due to attend the graduation ceremony on May 25.

Watson most recently starred in the biblical epic "Noah" with Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly.

If only our parents were this funny.

Emily Blunt stopped by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on May 14 to discuss her 3-month-old daughter, Hazel.

On how she and husband John Krasinski arrived at the name Hazel, Blunt told DeGeneres, "I find it very stressful naming a human being. So we went through a few different ones and then John found it and we both really like old lady names."

Blunt went on to say that her husband is "the greatest dad" to their "stinking cute" daughter. Apparently, Krasinski is a master at getting his little infant to burp, which Blunt considers a highly underrated talent.

We totally agree.

Rihanna Ruthlessly Cyberbullies Her Biggest Fan, Apparently Has Too Much Time On Her Hands

At a high school in Baltimore, a 16-year-old girl decided on a Rihanna-inspired outfit for her Hollywood-themed prom. Alexis Carter walked the makeshift red carpet in a bat-winged pantsuit and presumably had the night of her life (or at least did fun prom things), only to later find herself being actively mocked by the entire Internet and Rihanna herself.

RiRi began by tweeting side-by-side photos, before riffing on the hashtag #PromBat and apparently being delighted by the joke "Dark Thot Rises."

"I was very offended," Carter told Fox Baltimore of Rihanna's tweets. "Why throw shade on it when you had on the exact same thing. The poses was different but the outfit wasn't ... She doesn't love her fans like she says she does."

In any case, Carter now appears to be embracing the meme, despite the fact that her current background photo features a grinning Chris Brown.

Debby Ryan Dyes Her Hair Platinum Blond

Disney Channel star Debby Ryan underwent a major makeover just days before she turned 21.

The "Jessie" star has said goodbye to her red locks, and hello to her brand new platinum blond 'do. Ryan shared a photo of the edgier style on Instagram on May 9, writing simply, "hello there."

The actress, who also fronts the band The Never Ending, recently opened up to Annex Magazine about the expectations that come along with being a Disney star. "An ABC sitcom star can post a picture with a red cup in the background, and nobody would say anything, but if a Disney star did that, there would be controversy," she told the magazine.

And since controversy does seem to follow Disney's stars, it's no wonder that she's been fielding plenty of questions about whether she's tempted to chuck her image altogether. On May 14, Ryan posted a video of herself goofing off and dancing, writing, "People keep asking me 'Debby, now that you're 21, are you gonna go all crazy at the clubs and dance all sensually?' and I'm like 'I don't know does THIS ANSWER YOUR QUESTION?'"

Tyler The Creator Slams Buzzfeed Editors: 'Everybody In There Is Bored'

Tyler, the Creator and the Odd Future crew swung by Buzzfeed's New York office on Wednesday hoping to have some fun, but they discovered the site's editors didn't have the same idea of a good time.

When the hip-hop collective visited HuffPost Live shortly after, the group told host Ricky Camilleri they were disappointed by the reception they got at Buzzfeed.

The Odd Future guys called Buzzfeed "boring" and Tyler, the Creator said of the Buzzfeed office that "half the people there didn't like me."

"I guess some of the people who work in the office [were like], 'I'm above this, oh my god, we're working, we have strong opinions,'" Tyler said. "We just came in there trying to bring in so much yellow freaking filling to their gray, boring [lives]."

Tyler said the negative reaction "bummed [him] out" because the group had a good time at Buzzfeed. As Gawker documented Wednesday, many staff members tweeted displeasure with the Odd Future visit, and one editor talked about one member shooting a Nerf gun.

Regarding the Nerf gun, Tyler added that it doesn't make sense to have toys in an office if you don't expect them to be played with.

"One, I didn't touch the Nerf gun. Two, that was Jasper [Dolphin]. Three, it didn't hit anyone. And four, dude, you have a Nerf gun in the office," Tyler said. "How do you have a Nerf gun in there if you don't want anybody messing with it?"

Robert Duvall's Awful Pickup Line Involved 'Linoleum'

Fun fact from the archives: Robert Duvall and Dustin Hoffman used to be roommates. Duvall, now 83, spoke with HuffPost Live's Roy Sekoff about his time living with Hoffman in 1960s New York City.

"Dusty was the kind of guy: he had a nude girl on the table, he pretended he was an artist," Duvall said about Hoffman's social life at the time. "He got more woman than Joe Namath or anybody."

That "anybody" referenced by Duval included the actor himself. As Duvall joked with Sekoff, his interactions with the opposite sex were frequently awkward.

"I said to this girl -- and it didn't work -- I said, 'Come up to our apartment and see our new linoleum we put on the floor,'" Duvall remembered about a particularly poor pickup line. "Stupidest, dumbest line in history." Watch Duvall recount the story above. The full interview with Duvall about his new film "A Night In Old Mexico" is here.

These Celebs Are Trying Really Hard To Get Into Your Pantries (PHOTOS)

The famous names and faces that rule the entertainment world are jumping off smartphones and TV screens and into your grocery basket.

Chicago-based roasters Intelligentsia Coffee on Monday rolled out a special blend of beans made in collaboration with Annie Clark, the indie rock darling known as St. Vincent, according to the A.V. Club.

"I love Intelligentsia coffee. I have stood at their counter waiting for my order, like a fan waiting for a show. Eager. Expectant," Clark said in a statement via Intelligentsia to the coffee blog, Spruge. "So when my favorite coffee shop approached me about collaborating on a signature coffee, I was thrilled."

Much like fragrances in the late '90s and early aughts, signature food and drink items are the new must-have for everyone from musicians with cult followings to A-list athletes with international fame.

Historically, fragrances were popular branding opportunities for celebrities thanks to the high profit margins and the natural fit with the celebrity lifestyle, C. Samuel Craig, professor of marketing and international business at New York University, told HuffPost.

"Foods have become a much bigger part of people's lifestyle," Craig said, noting that unlike old school celebrity food brands -- think Jimmy Dean frozen sausages or Paul Newman's salad dressing -- the current crop of food and drink products are decidedly more upscale.

"On the food side, when you get into the premium space, there's only so far you can go on the strength of unique products or origin. [Celebrity tie-ins] are really an extension of branding of food -- you can only push a product so far. But, you can tap a celebrity and it taps into their Twitter account, their Facebook following. It can be great for viral promotion."

Even if a brand doesn't snag a celeb with the star wattage of say, Katy Perry, who has her own line of Popchips, it can still get a boost from a name that's famous-but-not-too-famous.

In 2013, Chicago-based brewery Goose Island collaborated with acclaimed rappers Killer Mike and El-P for the limited-edition "Run The Jewels" beer, named after their latest album and inspired by the taste of weed.

A spokeswoman for Goose Island told HuffPost no money changed hands for the collaboration, but that there was a "mutual publicity benefit."

"We got reach that we weren't expecting to get," the spokeswoman said. She described the rappers as being heavily involved in the creation process, earning credibility from a new audience -- beer geeks -- and giving the brewery exposure to the group's hip-hop fans.

Still, partnerships between stars and food brands aren't immune to spoilage; Craig notes it's always a liability when a celebrity becomes an integral part of a brand, like when Paula Deen lost a lucrative partnership with Smithfield Foods after a racism scandal last year.

"The danger is when a partnership doesn't work it, tarnishes the celebrity's brand -- and the danger goes both ways."

Rihanna Is The Only Girl (In The World) Who Can Turn A Selfie Into $81,000 Charity Payday

If someone cracked your cell phone's screen, you might make them pay up. But if you're Steve Soboroff and that someone is Rihanna, you'd turn your defective phone into thousands of dollars for charity.

According to TakePart, Rihanna took a selfie with Steve Soboroff, the L.A. Police Commission president, during a play-off series basketball game between the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder this past Saturday. But shortly after the photo was snapped, Rihanna dropped Soboroff's iPhone on the Staples Center's hardwood, cracking the screen.

The potentially awkward situation, however, turned out to be anything but.

The superstar agreed to autograph the phone for Soboroff to auction off on eBay in support of the Los Angeles Police Foundation, Celebuzz reports.

Along with several initiatives that better the city, the foundation provides character and ethics education to underprivileged teenagers, as well as public speaking and conflict resolution training. As of Wednesday afternoon, the highest bid was a staggering $56,000.

In addition to the thousands of dollars raised from the auction, Rihanna announced Monday that she would be donating $25,000 to the foundation.

NEW YORK (AP) — The Oprah Winfrey Network says it plans to produce a documentary series following the life of Michael Sam, the first openly gay player drafted by an NFL team.

The series will take an up-close look at the man recently drafted by the St. Louis Rams in a groundbreaking moment in professional sports. Cameras will follow the former University of Missouri football player as he works to earn a spot on the Rams while under a media microscope. Sam says it would be great if his story can lead others to accept who they are and go for their dreams.

OWN did not specify a premiere date for the as-yet-untitled series or how many episodes it will be.

Irina Shayk Slammed For Posing Topless For #BringBackOurGirls Campaign

Plenty of celebrities have already contributed to an online campaign and shared photos of themselves holding "#BringBackOurGirls" signs, in support of the safe return of the 276 Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped by a group of Islamist militants called Boko Haram.

Irina Shayk, best known for appearing in the Sports Illustrated annual swimsuit issue, took a slightly different approach to the campaign, and her efforts haven't been as appreciated as she perhaps anticipated, reports Gossip Cop. On May 11, the 28-year-old Russian model posted a topless photo of herself to Instagram with only the sign reading, "#BringBackOurGirls" covering her chest.

Rather than commending Shayk for joining a worthy cause, the photo was met with a number of harsh comments from others in the Instagram community, who slammed her decision to pose nude as "tasteless" and "ignorant" given the subject matter of the campaign.

"Pretty, but the toplessness is distracting from the cause. It's not about you," one commenter wrote, while another chimed in, "Callous, self-centred [sic] and of very poor taste."

Two days after posting the photo, Shayk appeared to have brushed off the negative comments and posted a message seemingly aimed at her critics:

How Philip Seymour Hoffman's Role In 'Mockingjay' Will Be Produced

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" director Francis Lawrence addressed how exactly Philip Seymour Hoffman will appear in the next installment of the film series.

Hoffman, who died in February, played Plutarch Heavensbee in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" and had filmed many of his scenes for "Mockingjay" before his death. The Hunger Games Exclusive posted a conversation with Lawrence, producer Nina Jacobson and screenwriter Peter Craig: "We finished the majority of his work," said Lawrence. "I think he might have had eight to 10 days left on our schedule. In most of those scenes, Phil didn’t have any dialogue. We are going to put him into those scenes, but we’re only using real footage. We’re not creating anything digital or a robotic version of him."

Jacobson also noted that they might give a line here or there to a different character like Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) or Effie (Elizabeth Banks), "but only in circumstances that we are able to do that without undermining the intent of the scene," she said.

Earlier this year, Lionsgate, the production company behind the films, said that Hoffman would be recreated for scenes using CGI effects. At the time of his death, The Hollywood Reporter learned that he had not yet filmed one major scene, though it's unclear how that scene will be produced.

"Mockingjay: Part 1" hits theaters Nov. 21. Lionsgate just released the first photo of Hoffman with Julianne Moore as President Coin.

Frankie Valli's $3.5 Million Life Insurance Plan Will Be Divided Equally In Divorce

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The California Supreme Court has ruled that a $3.75 million life insurance policy singer Frankie Valli and his ex-wife purchased while they were married is community property that must be be divided equally in their divorce.

A lower court had ruled that Randy Valli was entitled to the entire policy because she was listed as the policy's "owner" and beneficiary. But the state high court said Thursday the policy is community property because household funds from a joint checking account were used to buy and maintain it. The policy is currently worth about $400,000. The couple separated in 2004 after 20 years of marriage.

Valli's falsetto fueled the Four Seasons to fame with hits in the 1960s such as, "Sherry" and "Big Girls Don't Cry."

Beyonce, Jay Z And Solange Say They've 'Worked Through' Private Issues That Caused Elevator Fight

NEW YORK (AP) — Jay Z, Beyonce and Solange say "families have problems and we're no different" after a video leaked of Beyonce's sister attacking the rap mogul in a hotel elevator.

In an exclusive statement to The Associated Press on Thursday, the trio said they have worked through their differences and moved on since a video emerged this week showing Solange kicking Jay Z as Beyonce looked on. "As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it," the statement said. "Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family."

It was the first comment the performers had made since the website TMZ posted the three-minute video on Monday, saying it was shot last week inside the Standard Hotel in New York City. The video, which does not have audio, appears to show Solange attacking Jay Z in Beyonce's presence; a security guard intervenes. The footage shows the performers in the outfits they wore to the Met Gala.

"The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false," the statement continued. "At the end of the day families have problems and we're no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same."

The hotel said Wednesday it had fired the person who recorded the video.

Beyonce and Jay Z were married in 2008.

'The Vampire Diaries' Explosive Season Finale Will Blow You Away

$

Today is a bittersweet day for "The Vampire Diaries" fans. On the one hand, viewers can expect an explosive episode when the season finale airs tonight, on the other, producer Caroline Dries has already warned us three major characters will meet their end before the screen fades to black. And Paul Wesley's Stefan might just be one of them.

We caught up with Wesley at The CW Upfronts earlier today and the handsome bloodsucker spilled some major secrets about what goes down in the town of Mystic Falls tonight and how he copes with filming one of most insane shows on TV. The last time we saw Wesley, he had gone over to the Other Side -- which is never a good thing -- but the question is, will he stay there?

"One of the lead characters is going to end up in a place that is really, not good," Wesley said. "I honestly don't know what the hell's gonna happen. I trust the show needs to do what it needs to do in order for the stakes to be high."

Uh oh. So, since tonight might very well be the last time Wesley wears a set of fangs, we asked him to share his favorite memory from filming this season and the actor revealed sitting in the director's chair made the cut.

"I really loved directing," Wesley said. "not just because I enjoy directing but I love the flashback scenes and the alternate reality of Stefan and Elena being non-vampires."

Speaking of the undead, Stefan has a pretty unhealthy relationship with his fellow vampire brother Damon -- they share the same taste in women, specifically one woman -- which is why Damon's reaction to Stefan's death last week had us all a bit choked up. Wesley reveals his bond is just as strong with co-star Ian Somerhalder and he loves to play their relationship out on-screen.

"That relationship is really interesting because it's like love and hate," Wesley said. "And I love love and hate. It's when you're apathetic that things start to get boring."

No one could accuse the hit CW show of being boring. We've seen the cast deal with doppelgangers, witches, uncontrolled bloodlust and monsters from beyond the grave. All of that weirdness has to take it's toll on the "TVD" team, so how does Wesley unwind after a long day? Hint: it involves a lot of alcohol.

"Drink whiskey," Wesley said.

We have a feeling we might need a glass after tonight's episode.
