One Direction Meld Together Into One Walking, Singing Dude In 'You & I' Video

0
0
Though it seems like people say this about every new One Direction video, this time, it feels particularly true: In "You & I," the boys look like grown-ups. Niall's got a brave new hair style, and even squeaky-clean Liam has a full beard.

Hair aside, the slow-moving video feels like a Very Serious follow-up to "Midnight Memories" for them, and this is despite its vaguely hilarious premise: A solemn-faced Louis, Liam, Harry, Zayn and Niall morph into each other while strolling down a boardwalk.

For all its washed-out body-morphing weirdness, the vid is definitely interesting, and there is a tiny bit of color at the end in the form of a bright purple ball. (We'll let you guys deconstruct the meaning of that one for us.)

Kirsten Dunst Thinks Casting Couch Victims 'Court That Stuff'

On the heels of a civil lawsuit alleging that director Bryan Singer sexually abused a 17-year-old boy, and attempted to appease him with the promise of acting roles in his films that never materialized, Kirsten Dunst had some timely thoughts on the casting couch.

In an interview with W Magazine guest editor Sofia Coppola, Dunst said she doesn't have much sympathy for actors who find themselves the victims of lecherous bigwigs looking to trade sex for roles.

When Coppola asked the 31-year-old actress if a director had ever "pounced" on her while working together, she laughed off the idea. "I don't give off that vibe," she said. “I think that you court that stuff, and to me it’s crossing a boundary that would hinder the trust in your working relationship."

Perhaps Dunst should tell that to Susan Sarandon, Gwyneth Paltrow and Charlize Theron -- all of whom have gone on record with unfortunate stories of being pressured to have sex in order to advance their careers.

Dunst is on a roll lately, having made controversial statements earlier this month about gender norms.

"I feel like the feminine has been a little undervalued. We all have to get our own jobs and make our own money, but staying at home, nurturing, being the mother, cooking -- it’s a valuable thing my mom created," Dunst told Harper's Bazaar U.K. "And sometimes, you need your knight in shining armor. I’m sorry. You need a man to be a man and a woman to be a woman. That’s why relationships work."

Lawyer Of Bryan Singer's Accuser: More 'Hollywood Insiders' Will Be Named In Sex Abuse Suits

0
0
The lawyer representing Michael F. Egan III, who has accused "X-Men" director Bryan Singer of sexually abusing him when he was underage, told HuffPost Live on Friday that more recognizable Hollywood figures involved in sexually assaulting young men will be named next week.

"There's more Hollywood names. These are other men who Mike alleges were part of these pool parties in California and then also flew to the parties in Hawaii, where they sexually abused Mike. They're Hollywood insiders," said attorney Jeffrey Herman.

Herman told host Ricky Camilleri that he and his client have not yet named all parties involved because they need to take "certain procedural steps" before filing additional lawsuits in Hawaii. Herman expects the new names will be made public Monday, though he said under Hawaiian law he has until Thursday to file suit against the other "sexual predators."

AN 'ORGANIZED AND ONGOING OPEN SECRET'

Since Egan's lawsuit became public this week, Herman said he has been amazed by what he's discovered about the widespread nature of sex abuse in Hollywood and the unspoken knowledge of such conduct.

"I've seen a lot of things -- [defending victims of sexual abuse] is all that I do -- but I don't know that I've ever seen a more organized and ongoing open secret," he said. "I'm getting regular contacts from people saying, 'Oh, you should hear what's happening over here.'"

Herman added that he's been told about numerous "vile" rings of sexual predation, some of which overlap. But "the commonality of this is they're all men in Hollywood, all men using their positions of power and influence to sexually exploit children," he said.

'I'M NOT GOING TO BE BULLIED'

Singer's attorney has shot back against Egan, Herman and their allegations, declaring on Friday that receipts, telephone records and production schedules can prove Singer was not in Hawaii at the time Egan claims he was assaulted. Singer's lawyer also vowed to file a countersuit for "malicious prosecution."

Herman said he plans to move forward with Egan's suit no matter what Singer's representatives say.

"I'm not going to be bullied, I'm not going to be intimidated by someone threatening to do something to me because I'm representing a victim," he said. "I am the voice of these victims who have been silenced."

There are really no huge surprises on this week's best-dressed list. You've got Rita Ora shutting down the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards with a stunning look; Beyoncé and Solange Knowles reminding us how fierce they are; Kiernan Shipka proving that even a teenager can outdress Hollywood's biggest stars; and Lupita Nyong'o, who can literally do no wrong in the fashion department.

But this week's top style star honors go to Jamie Chung, who masterfully pulled together an outfit that is pure perfection.

Check out our picks for best-dressed and let us know what you think.

Rita Ora in Barbara Casasola

One word: Flawless.

Jamie Chung in Reese + Riley, Cameo The Label & Elizabeth and James

Throwing on a fabulous dress is easy, but piecing together a praise-worthy ensemble takes skill. Jamie definitely showed off her stellar sartorial chops with this look. We love the black, red and white color combo, that edgy mesh skirt and those killer heels.

Kiernan Shipka in Preen and Jimmy Choo

kiernan shipka

When is the last time you saw a 14 year old serve this much sophistication? Never. This week, the "Mad Men" actress stunned in a sweet pastel printed dress and matching colorblock shoes.

Lupita Nyong'o in Chanel

lupita nyongo

Although Lupita departed from her signature vibrantly hued wardrobe last week, she still managed to land on our best-dressed list. However, we're glad she's back to her bold and beautiful ways. This dress -- with all it's bells and whistles -- can only be worn by a fearless fashionista like Ms. Nyong'o.

Beyoncé in Topshop and Solange in Max Mara

beyonce and solange

Double the pleasure, double the FAB! It's rare these two ladies hit the stage together, but then they do it's magic. That hair. Those get-ups. We're in love!

NEW YORK (AP) — Miley Cyrus is postponing her U.S. tour while she recovers from an allergic reaction to antibiotics, but will resume her performances in August.

Cyrus' representative tells The Associated Press on Friday that the singer will resume the U.S. tour Aug. 1 in Uniondale, N.Y. The new dates will include seven rescheduled shows and two additional stops. The European leg of the tour is still scheduled to kick off May 2 in Amsterdam.

Cyrus' rep says the singer suffered from a sinus infection last week during her "Bangerz" tour and had "an extreme allergic reaction" to the antibiotic cephalexin on Tuesday. Cyrus canceled several shows this week as a result.

Existing tickets for the 21-year-old singer's U.S. tour will be honored at the new date.

11 Celebrities Who Make Us Excited About Aging

0

A lot of women (and men, for that matter) panic when it comes to aging, but these celebrities prove it's actually much more exciting than it appears to be.

Take Cameron Diaz for instance: The 41-year-old recently opened up to Oprah Winfrey about getting older, explaining that the phrase "anti-aging" infuriates her.

"We don't honor the journey and who we are and how much we have to offer," Diaz said, adding that women can't seem to escape the pressure of looking young. "It's almost as if we have failed if we don't remain 25 for the rest of our lives. Like we are failures … Oh, I'm sorry, I apologize, I wasn't able to defy nature."

But Diaz isn't the only star who makes aging sound exciting. Here are a handful of celebrities who inspire us to embrace getting older:

Get excited, "Voice" fans!

According to TMZ, Gwen Stefani will be replacing Christina Aguilera as coach on Season 7. Multiple sources connected to "The Voice" reportedly told the site that, due to Aguilera's pregnancy, Stefani will be taking over her spot on the singing competition series, which begins filming its new season in June.

Although Stefani's job isn't permanent, she'll be coaching alongside newcomer Pharrell Williams and longtime mentors Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Aguilera will reportedly rotate back into her spinning chair for Season 8.

Us Weekly also confirmed the news of Stefani's gig, with a source saying the "No Doubt" singer's "contract is now done." Still, earlier this week, an NBC rep told the site, "We haven't made any decisions at this point."

What Type Of Pot Smoker Are You?

0

Like snowflakes or THC crystals*, no two pot smokers are truly the same.

But even in a group as diverse as marijuana users, certain patterns do emerge. For example, does your pot use lead to endless pontification? You might be what we call the philosopher smoker. Or does your mind wander alone when you're stoned? If so, you're probably more the loner-artist type.

Being as it's 4/20 weekend, what better time to discover where you land on the stoner spectrum? Take our quiz below to find out.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead has starred in such movies as "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" and "Live Free Or Die Hard," but she cites her role in "Alex of Venice," which premiered Friday night, April 18, at the Tribeca Film Festival, as a rare opportunity to play a more three-dimensional female character.

"I think just getting to be more than one thing as an actress is always so exciting," the 29-year-old told HuffPost Live's Ricky Camilleri. "When you don't have to just be the sexy girl, or just be the quirky girl, or whatever the one quality that is so often kind of given to you as an actor."

"She's just a human being," Winstead said of Alex, the character she plays in the film. "She kind of gets to be everything in one, and that to me is always really exciting."

"Alex of Venice" stars Winstead alongside Chris Messina, who also directed the feature.
