Kevin Spacey Handles Private Life Questions The Way Frank Underwood Would

Kevin Spacey's private life is private.

The "House of Cards" star recently gave a lengthy interview to The Hollywood Reporter for the cover story of the magazine's April 11 issue, but stopped short of delving into the details of his personal life. "Spacey, whose only permanent home is in London, fiercely guards his private life. In fact, his affable demeanor shuts off the moment he is asked about it," Lacey Rose writes.

Rose said this reaction may relate back to the 1997 Esquire piece titled "Kevin Spacey Has a Secret," which implied details about his sexuality. After the profile was published, Spacey's agent released a statement advising other agents to "dissuade" their clients from working with Esquire and accused the publication of "deceptive and fraudulent behavior."

These days, Spacey continues to remain tight-lipped.

"Let's let people live their lives and do it the way they want to do it," he told THR. "All the chips will fall in the end, and we'll all be judged by a much higher power than Entertainment Weekly can."

In a 2010 interview with the Daily Beast, Spacey said he has never spoken about his private life and never will. He draws a firm line that many other celebrities are willing to cross.

"Look, at the end of the day people have to respect people's differences," he said at the time. "I am different than some people would like me to be. I just don't buy into that the personal can be political. I just think that's horseshit. No one's personal life is in the public interest. It's gossip, bottom line. End of story."

'Goonies 2' Is Happening According To Richard Donner

Goonies never say die, and neither do sequel rumors. While discussing the state of Hollywood superhero movies with a paparazzo from TMZ, director Richard Donner let slip that he was making a sequel to "Goonies," the 1985 adventure film produced by Steven Spielberg.

"We're doing a sequel," Donner said while signing autographs for some lucky fans. According to the director, discussions are ongoing with the film's original cast, which included Josh Brolin, Martha Plimpton, Corey Feldman and Sean Astin.

This isn't the first time a "Goonies" sequel has been mentioned by Donner. Back in 2010, he told Collider that it was difficult to find a storyline for the second film, which is why he had planned to turn the beloved feature into a musical.

"I don't think there'd be a sequel. I wouldn’t remake it. If anything it’d be something new and fresh. Hopefully we’re doing this as a musical on Broadway," Donner said.

In 2011, Donner discussed that Broadway musical in an interview with Movieline. "We're really trying extraordinarily hard to get it made. It's a tough road -- Broadway is another world totally -- and hopefully, probably around September, we'll be talking a lot more positively," he said. "We have Tim Long doing the book, and it's quite good. The process on Broadway is another world. But if we're going there with 'Goonies' -- which has such a great following, a great life -- it has got to be the right thing. Hopefully we'll be presenting it to you in the spring of the following year."

Donner never did get to present the "Goonies" musical, but that didn't stop the cast from speculating about future "Goonies" installments.

"It will happen," Astin said in 2012 when asked about a possible "Goonies" sequel by IGN. "I'm 1000 percent certain there will be a sequel. I will bet my children on it."

LOS ANGELES (AP) — "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" has set a record as the biggest domestic April release ever.

The Disney sequel debuted with $96.2 million topping the previous record holder, 2011's "Fast Five," which opened with $86.2 million. Last weekend "The Winter Soldier," which stars Chris Evans as the shield wielding superhero, commanded 32 international markets, gaining $75.2 million in its overseas bow. Expanding to Russia, Australia and China in its second week, the Marvel comic adaptation has earned $207.1 million internationally.

Paramount's biblical saga "Noah," starring Russell Crowe, took a drastic dip in its second weekend, earning $17 million after debuting with $44 million. Still, it sailed into second place, pushing Lionsgate's young adult science-fiction thriller "Divergent," led by Shailene Woodley, to third with $13 million in its third week.

Here's How Morning TV Is Different Now, According To Former 'Today' Co-Host

$

The morning show landscape looks a bit different than it used to, former "Today" co-host Deborah Norville said Sunday.

Norville joined CNN's "Reliable Sources" to talk about the recent shakeup on "Good Morning America." Josh Elliott left the ABC show to join NBC Sports last week, prompting speculation that he has his sights set on a "Today" show role. His exit comes after Sam Champion's departure for the Weather Channel. "Live With Kelly and Michael" co-host Michael Strahan is expected to join "GMA" in a new part-time role.

On Sunday, Norville, who co-hosted "Today" in 1990 and 1991, compared Elliott's departure to Ann Curry's 2012 ouster from "Today," which she said involved more "tears" and "angst."

"Elliott left of his own accord," said Norville. "It's not a situation where people can say, 'This guy was being pushed out.' He made a business decision, NBC made a business decision in bringing him in."

Norville did not say whether she thought Elliott could be in line for a "Today" job, but noted that NBC News and ABC News now "have a large number" of co-hosts in the morning.

"When I was a part of morning television, there was the host, the co-host, the weather person and the news reader," she recalled. "That was it. Now you've got six, eight, depending how you want to tally up the various hours."

Another change in the wake of Elliott's departure, according to Norville, is that the majority of the casts on network TV in the morning are now female. That is certainly the case on "GMA," where women outnumber the show's sole male host, George Stephanopoulos, four to one.

Gayle King, Norah O'Donnell and Charlie Rose host "CBS This Morning," while the "Today" show cast consists of Carson Daly, Willie Geist, Kathie Lee Gifford, Savannah Guthrie, Tamron Hall, Hoda Kotb, Matt Lauer, Natalie Morales and Al Roker, for a five-to-four breakdown of women to men.

'Palo Alto' Trailer: James Franco's Newest Film Has Some Odd Timing [UPDATE]

When James Franco's questionable Instagram texts with a 17-year-old girl leaked online last week, many thought it was part of a viral marketing stunt for "Palo Alto," a new film based on a short story collection written by Franco. Here's why: "Palo Alto" includes one story about a young girl named April (played by Emma Roberts), who becomes romantically entangled with her soccer coach, Mr. B (Franco). The relationship is part of the film's new trailer, which was released on April 2 by Tribeca Film.

”I’m embarrassed, and I guess I’m just a model of how social media is tricky,” Franco said about his Instagram faux pas in an interview with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan on the pair's television show on April 4. "It's a way people meet each other today, but what I’ve learned is you don’t know who’s on the other end. I used bad judgement and I learned my lesson."

"Palo Alto" was directed by Gia Coppola and opens in select theaters May 9. Decide for yourself if Franco's social-media scandal was part of an elaborate viral marketing campaign in the comments below.

CORRECTION: The "Palo Alto" trailer was released the same day Franco's Instagram texts became public, not after.

John Pinette was found dead on April 6. The comedian was discovered in his Pittsburgh hotel room around 2:30 p.m., according to the Allegheny County medical examiner's office.

TMZ reports that Pinette was suffering from liver and heart disease. Though no autopsy has been performed, his manager, Larry Schapiro, told the Hollywood Reporter that Pinette died from a pulmonary embolism.

In August of 2013, Pinette cancelled a standup routine and checked into rehab for prescription pill addiction. He was currently on tour from April to June, with set dates scheduled through the U.S. and Canada.

Pinette's resume includes films such as "The Punisher" (2004) and "The Last Godfather" (2010). He is best known for his 1998 role in "Seinfeld," as the man who was mugged in the final episode of the show.

Nick Offerman Admits Who The Funniest 'Parks and Rec' Cast Member Is

He's done it again.

Nick Offerman -- our favorite woodworking libertarian on NBC's "Parks and Recreation" -- hosted another "Ask Me Anything" session on Reddit this week and it was even more glorious than the last one. From the art of woodcarving -- a hobby he shares with his on-screen alter ego Ron Swanson -- to the best life advice he's ever gotten and what to expect from his directorial debut on this week's episode, we were treated to another insightful look into the mind behind the mustache.

"Through mere luck of the draw, I was handed an incredible episode, in story and location and guest stars," Offerman wrote when asked what fans should expect this week. "Some BIG shit goes down in this episode, and Adam (Scott) plays one of the most hilarious and original drunks I've ever seen."

We also learned that Bo Burnham, Jeff Tweedy and Sam Elliott -- of whom Offerman admitted to being "openly in man-love" with -- will be guesting on the upcoming episode.

But the biggest reveal came when one Reddit user finally asked what we've all been dying to know: who's the funniest cast member on the "Parks and Rec" set?

"That's a tough one," Offerman said. "Amy Poehler is our champion and leader, and I would have to say she is #1."

So, he basically confirmed that Amy Poehler is amazing. We already knew that. But Offerman was nice enough to rank the rest of the cast in terms of funniness, just in case you still had any questions.

"Chris Pratt is a true comic genius so he's #1.1" Offerman wrote. "Aziz (Anzari) makes anything he says ridiculously funny and Aubrey (Plaza) has a delightfully wicked flavor of evil mischief so they're maybe tied at #1.15. Adam Scott is not behind the folks previously mentioned, plus he wields a mighty sword as a straight man. He's in the #1.05 region. Retta shares Aziz's propensity for simply laying out deliciously crisp one-liners, so I'd rank her in the top 6 as well.... I think that's everybody."
