Universal Orlando Reveals Wizarding World Of Harry Potter Expansion Details

The new Harry Potter-themed area opening at Universal Orlando Resort this summer will allow fans to ride the Hogwarts Express train and experience the British countryside just as the characters did in the book and movie series.

Guests will appear to magically pass through a brick wall and board a train with steam and a whistle, according to a Friday news release from Universal Orlando Resort. Riders will have two experiences — one on the way to the new London-themed area at Universal Studios Park and another on the way to the original Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal's Islands of Adventure. During the ride, characters and magical creatures from the book will be spotted. Among them: Hagrid on a flying motorbike, the Weasley twins on brooms, and the Knight Bus in London traffic.

Universal's team worked with a group from the Harry Potter films on the new area and train.

If fans want to see both parks, a two-park ticket will be required — currently $136.32 for one day for ages 10 and older.

The theme park also released details Friday about its newest hotel, the Cabana Bay Beach Resort.

Based on 1950s and 1960s mid-century modernist architecture, the resort will open 600 of its 1,800 rooms March 31.

When fully built, 900 rooms will be suites with kitchenettes. Standard rooms will cost from $93 to $127 a night for a stay of seven nights longer, company officials said. Family suites — which sleep up to six guests — run from $134 to $171 a night for the same length of time.

Russ Dagon, the vice president/executive project director of Universal Creative, said guests will feel like they're still in the theme parks.

"It's an extension of the experience," he said.

The hotel also will have two beach-themed pools, a lazy river and waterslide.

Mary-Louise Parker Admits She Had No Idea What She Was Doing On 'The West Wing'

Mary-Louise Parker may have been convincing as political lobbyist Amy Gardner on "The West Wing," but in a recent interview with HuffPost Live she admitted that a lot of the lines might as well have been gibberish.

"I had to look up every word I said," Parker said of the Aaron Sorkin political drama. "I was calling my father! I was like 'Daddy, what's a 'caucus?'"

The words themselves may have been challenging, but Parker had a blast playing Amy. "I went at it from the character. She was very clear to me, and her objectives were very clear … I felt like I knew her," she added.

Billy Joel Forgets The Lyrics To 'We Didn't Start The Fire' In The Most Awesome Way Possible

Billy Joel kicked off his encore performance in Toronto on March 9 with "We Didn't Start The Fire," but he got tripped up on the first verse. As he approached "Rosenberg's H-Bomb, Sugar Ray, Panmunjom," the lyrics escaped Joel, and so he stopped the song.

"Wait a minute," he said. "That ain't right. All you gotta do is f--k up one word in that song and it's a train wreck."

Billy Joel shared his disdain for the song (which is well known at this point), describing it as the same thing verse after verse. He threw in in some nasally "na na na na na's" for the full effect, ultimately calling it "one of the worst melodies I ever wrote." While Joel was determined to just skip the rest of the song altogether, he and his band eventually kicked back in with the rest running seamlessly.

"That'll be all over YouTube tomorrow," he said. "It's okay. It was an authentic rock and roll f--k up. We're not on tape. You don't see much of that anymore. Okay, let's hope we get through this one."

Don't Take Any Style Lessons From The Celebrities Who Made This Week's Worst-Dressed List

0
0
This week, many celebrities stepped out on the red carpet in looks that needed slight modifications. Dita Von Teese should have ditched the leather gloves she paired with her gown, while Isabelle Fuhrman would have benefited from different shoes to complement her jumpsuit.

Check out our picks for worst-dressed of the week and let us know if you agree.

Tia Mowry

tia

This dress has too many things going on. The asymmetrical neckline, high slit and printed skirt are begging to be scaled back a little. She could have also used a few more inches on that hemline.

Kristen Bell

bell

Bell is such a pretty actress, but this look is too goth for our liking. Between the black sheer overlay on her shapeless dress to her chunky pumps and that dark, heavy eye makeup, she needs to brighten up.

Kristen Bell

beeellll

Clearly, it wasn't Kristen's week. The problem with this outfit is in the proportions. The length of the dress is shortening the petite actress' legs, the sleeves are too long and the crop top needs to hit a bit lower, at her most narrow part, to be the most flattering.

Isabelle Fuhrman

isabelle

The "Hunger Games" star is wearing one bizarre jumpsuit. The illusion panel up top competes with the speckled slacks, while the strap on her heels is disrupting the long, lean line of her pants. A strappier shoe would have done wonders for this ensemble.

Krysten Ritter

krysten

We're not going to lie, this dress is tacky. The print is doing nothing for her, and we wish she would try out a new silhouette.

Dita Von Teese

ditaq

Von Teese's dress itself is actually kind of pretty, but with the gloves it skews a little costumey.

The Stars On This Week's Best-Dressed List Deserve An A+

Many stars hit all the right marks on our best-dressed list this week. Emma Watson proved that a black dress is anything but boring, while Shay Mitchell showed the perfect amount of skin in a long gown with cut-outs and a low neckline.

Check out our picks for best-dressed and let us know what you think.

Emma Watson in Wes Gordon

emma

Watson looks all kinds of stunning. This navy and black tulle chiffon racerback gown makes the actress appear 10 feet tall, while her red lipstick and sleek hair add to the sophistication.

Shay Mitchell in Celia Kritharioti

shay

If you've got it, flaunt it. A plunging neckline and cut-outs can easily be too sexy, but Mitchell's long dress and casual waves ensure that she looks just sexy enough.

Lena Dunham in Kenzo

lena

This is one of the most flattering dresses we have ever seen on Dunham. The skirt flares out, drawing attention to her waistline, while the hemline hits right above the knee, which is a style that looks good on everyone. And those shoes are pretty badass.

Cheryl Cole in Lela Rose

lela

A peplum is good choice for just about everyone, and the cage-like design on the singer's dress makes it a new and interesting take on the trend. Not to mention those python shoes that add the perfect splash of color to her ensemble.

Lea Michele in Suno

lea michele

This romper is so much fun for a few reasons. First of all, it's a romper. Second of all, it's printed. This is the perfect outfit to welcome spring.

Khloe Kardashian

khloe

Kim who? It looks like there is a new best-dressed Kardashian in town. That deep-V neckline looks amazing on Khloe, and the tight dress, combined with the looser, sheer sleeves accentuates her curvy figure.

Tina Fey in Antonio Berardi

tina fey

This funny actress clearly takes style very seriously. Navy and black is one of our favorite color combinations, and this particular dress is so simple yet so stunning.

'Fantastic Four' Rumor Denied By Fox

0

Late Friday afternoon, the website Bleeding Cool reported Twentieth Century Fox was so unhappy with how director Josh Trank and writer Simon Kinberg were handling "Fantastic Four" that the studio was prepared to replace them. Or not: As ScreenCrush found out from Fox, not only is "Fantastic Four" on track to hit its April 21 production start, but Trank is actually on the film's set right now. (HuffPost Entertainment contacted representatives for Trank for further comment on this story; our post will be updated if and when they respond.)

With that start date looming, expect the film's cast to firm up in the coming weeks. Back in February, TheWrap revealed that Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell were, respectively, up for the roles of Mr. Fantastic, Human Torch, Invisible Woman and the Thing. This week, TheWrap noted that Sam Riley, Domhnall Gleeson, Toby Kebbell, Eddie Redmayne and Jack Huston were in contention for the part of Dr. Doom, the film's villain.

"Fantastic Four" is due out in theaters on June 19, 2015. For more on the debunked rumor, head to ScreenCrush.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say R&B singer Chris Brown has been arrested on a warrant.

Sheriff's Deputy Amber Smith says Brown was taken into custody on Friday on the warrant but that no other details were immediately available. The 25-year-old remains on probation for his 2009 attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna and had been ordered by a judge to remain in rehab since November. He was arrested in Washington, D.C., in October after a man accused the singer of hitting him outside a hotel.

An email message sent to his attorney, Mark Geragos, was not immediately returned.

An email message sent to probation officials was not immediately returned Friday afternoon.

Spokeswomen for the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office and Superior Court said they had not been informed of Brown's arrest.

Lindsay Lohan Has Heated Conversation With Her Dad Over Lunch (VIDEO)

Lindsay Lohan may be ready to have her once-estranged father, Michael Lohan, back in her life, but she's not interested in his relationship advice. In the above preview of OWN's new docu-series, "Lindsay," Michael and Lindsay are out at lunch when the conversation turns to her social life.

Things quickly go south when Michael brings up Gavin Doyle, Lindsay's former nightclub pal. Michael thinks some of Lindsay's friends have been a bad influence, and his comments upset her.

"See, now you're getting me angry – because you weren't good for me for a long time in my life," Lindsay says to her father.

Michael, an admitted drug addict who has been in and out of Lindsay's life, tells her he accepts that she feels that way. Later, Lindsay explains why her friends are important to her, despite what her father or the press may say about them.

"They may go out and do what they want to do, but they're not the type of people who are going to do that around me, and that's what matters to me," Lindsay says. "They're good people, they're not bad people. And they've been there for me when I didn't have other people –- when other people weren't."

"Lindsay" airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on OWN.

Lupita Nyong'o Apparently Met With J.J. Abrams About 'Star Wars: Episode VII'

Lupita Nyong'o has truly arrived. Fresh off her Academy Award win for Best Supporting Actress, the "12 Years a Slave" star is now part of the "Star Wars" rumor mill. Late Friday, The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit revealed that Nyong'o had met with director J.J. Abrams about potentially playing an offspring of Obi-Wan Kenobi in "Episode VII." HuffPost Entertainment contacted representatives for Nyong'o to see if they had comment on this story; this post will be updated if and when we receive an official response.

The news puts Nyong'o in league with a surfeit of actors and actresses who have been tied to "Episode VII" in some way. On Thursday, Variety reported that five actors -- Jesse Plemons, Ed Speleers, John Boyega, Matthew James Thomas and Ray Fisher -- were on Abrams' list to play the male lead in the new "Star Wars" film. Previously, "Girls" star Adam Driver was attached to the project as a potential villain in the mold of Darth Vader. Other stars who were rumored for parts at one time or another include Benedict Cumberbatch, Gary Oldman, Michael Fassbender, Alex Pettyfer, Saoirse Ronan and Michael B. Jordan.

Nyong'o has yet to book a follow-up part to "12 Years a Slave," but she did appear in the Liam Neeson film "Non-Stop" in February in a small supporting role. For more on her other possible new jobs, head to THR.

"Star Wars: Episode VII" is due out in theaters on Dec. 18, 2015. It's expected that production will begin in the spring.

Rob Ford Has Picked A Fight With Kevin Spacey, Of All People

0
0
TORONTO (AP) — Toronto's combative mayor claimed Friday that he wouldn't know Kevin Spacey "if I ran over him," a week after the "House of Cards" star poked fun at Rob Ford when both appeared on a late night talk show. Ford's brother called the actor "an arrogant SOB."

The reason for their displeasure?

Spacey cracked several jokes at the mayor's expense when he appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Mar. 2 shortly after a brief cameo by Ford.

"That's the first time I've had to follow a Ford," Spacey quipped. "And one that was so banged up."

When Kimmel thanked Spacey for sharing a dressing room with the mayor, Spacey responded, "Well, he threw up all over it, but those are the chances you take."

Ford has been under great pressure to resign since he admitted smoking crack last year, and several videos have emerged that showed him seemingly drunk or high. His antics have made him the target of late-night television comedians and embarrassed Canadians. City Council stripped him of many of his powers but does not have the authority to remove him.

Undaunted, Ford has vowed to run for re-election this fall.

The Ford brothers took on Spacey during their show on YouTube named after the mayor's supporters, who he refers to as "Ford Nation."

Rob and Doug Ford complained that they were told they could not talk to, or have their picture taken with Spacey.

"In my opinion, he's an arrogant SOB," said Doug Ford, who however prefaced his comments by acknowledging that Spacey is an "incredible actor."

He then added: "Kevin, why don't you get off your high horse and be real and take pictures with people?"

Calls and emails to Spacey's publicist seeking comment were not immediately returned.

Rob Ford then softened the criticism, and cautioned that maybe Spacey "does take pictures and we're not aware of it."

UPDATE:
In a tweet sent Saturday morning, Spacey responded to the Ford brothers' attacks, writing, "When did Mayor Ford start doing what people tell him to do? All you had to do was ask, guys. Here’s your pic." A photoshopped picture accompanying the tweet shows Spacey smiling between the two brothers.

Jennifer Hudson Parts Ways With Weight Watchers After 80-Pound Weight Loss

Jennifer Hudson will no longer be spokesperson for Weight Watchers, the weight loss plan which helped her lose 80 pounds in four years, People reports.

"I have chosen to step away from my role as ambassador and I am excited for the year to come, with many new projects and lots of new music," Hudson told People, adding: "My experience with Weight Watchers has truly been life changing. I am grateful for what I have learned throughout the process and will always take it with me."

In 2010, Hudson explained her motivation for losing weight were the pounds she packed while pregnant. "I didn't realize it was me. I was like, 'Who? ... Oh, my God, this is me.' And now when I look back, wow, look at the difference from then to now," she said. At the time, she had just signed on to be spokeswoman for the brand, since using it helped her shed the baby weight.

In early 2011, Hudson spoke to Ellen DeGeneres about slimming down from a size 16 to a size 6, saying: "I just wanted my body back. Whatever body that was." By the summer of that year, it was reported that Hudson had shrunk to a size zero.

In Nov. 2012, the Oscar winning actress and singer announced she had dropped 80 pounds and is done losing weight.

Weight Watchers currently has another famous face on board, Jessica Simpson, who announced last week that she's reached her goal weight.

Courtney Stodden is clearly ready for summer, as evidenced by her latest look in Beverly Hills.

The reality star was spotted grabbing lunch in Calif. on Friday, March 14, in a red cutout minidress and a deep tan we can only guess is a result of a luxurious vacation or a trip to the salon.

Stodden, 19, spent the afternoon with her BFF Anderson Brooks, a Los Angeles nightlight personality. Earlier in the week, the buxom blonde attended the Style Fashion Week party in L.A. wearing a see-through black lace dress only she could pull off.

Did Miley Cyrus Tattoo Her Inner Lip With A Sad Yellow Kitty?

0

Could Miley Cyrus be following in Kesha's footsteps?

The "Bangerz" singer posted a few photos to her Instagram account on Friday, March 14, in which she's seen with a brand new tattoo. Like Kesha's famous "SUCK IT" tat, Miley's new ink is on her inner lip. From her captions, it is unclear if the sad, yellow kitty is a real tattoo or a temporary one -- though she did post a photo to Twitter where her face is covered in a towel, captioned "#OuchyBooBoo."

Cyrus has been touring the country these past few weeks and has several shows in Texas coming up this weekend. It appears she got her tattoo in Tulsa, where she performed Thursday night.

Kid Cudi Tells Arsenio Hall What He Would Change About Hip Hop, Takes Jab At Drake

0
0
Kid Cudi stopped by the "Arsenio Hall Show" Friday night, March 14, to discuss what he would change about the current state of hip hop and perform his new song "Internal Bleeding."

Cudi said the "braggadocio, 'money, cash, hoes' thing is dead," and that it is holding hip hop as a culture back. Getting worked up just talking about his gripes with hip hop, Cudi shared his mission since day one. "All I wanted to do was help kids not feel alone, and stop kids from committing suicide," he said. "I dealt with suicide for the past few years. There wasn't a week or a day that went by where I was like, 'I wanna check out.'"

Lightening the mood, Cudi stated that if he rapped about all of his possessions, "there would be no Drake." While Cudi's jab seems to have been made in good fun, we're not sure Drake will see it that way.
