Madonna To Perform 'Same Love' Alongside Macklemore & Ryan Lewis At Grammys

Madonna's newly confirmed performance at Sunday's Grammy Awards will find the singer teaming with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis on the duo's 2012 anthem "Same Love," sources reportedly tell Us Weekly.

Word spread last weekend that Madonna would likely provide supporting vocals during a performance of one of the nominated songs, and now it appears she'll take her same-sex activism to the Grammy stage. Us Weekly does not address how Madonna's portion of the performance will complement that of featured artist Mary Lambert, who tweeted on Friday that she was in rehearsals for the telecast.

Madonna posted two photos to Instagram on Friday that noted she'd be at the Grammys, including one that announced her need for a good pair of heels to wear.

"Same Love" is up for Song of the Year. The Grammys air Sunday, Jan. 26, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.

Courtney Love Wins Twitter Defamation Case

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Twitter posting by Courtney Love suggesting that one of her attorneys had been "bought off" wasn't defamatory, a jury decided Friday.

The verdict came after roughly three hours of deliberation in a case that spanned eight days and focused on the Hole frontwoman's postings on the social networking site. The case centered on one 2010 post that suggested that San Diego attorney Rhonda Holmes had been "bought off" and that was why she wasn't representing the singer anymore. Love had hired Holmes to file a fraud case against the estate of her late husband, Kurt Cobain. The lawyer contended during the trial that she was fired by Love and that the tweet and other statements the singer made against her have caused her substantial damage.

Love's tweet stated, "I was (expletive) devastated when Rhonda J Holmes Esq of san diego was bought off" in response to a question from user of the popular social media site.

The message was never meant to be public, Love told jurors. She said she meant for it to be sent as a direct message, which only the recipient would see, but it instead went public and was quickly deleted.

The swift verdict wasn't witnessed by Love, who had left court after closing arguments ended Friday morning. She arrived just as the courthouse was closing down and met her attorneys, John Lawrence and Matthew Bures, in the hallway where she hugged them both.

Love praised her attorneys and the jury after the verdict. Asked about her social media presence, Love said she refrained from posting on Twitter during the trial. "I didn't tweet out of respect for the case," she said.

While the case was billed as the first "Twibel" trial in which Twitter and libel law intersected, Lawrence said it was tried by the same rules as traditional defamation cases.

Jurors determined that Love's tweet included false information, but the musician didn't know it wasn't true.

Holmes' attorneys urged jurors in closing arguments to award the attorney $8 million and send a message that false statements online had consequences.

Holmes' lawyer Mitchell Langberg said that while his client was disappointed with the verdict, her reputation was upheld and the world now knows that Love's statements were false.

"At the end of the day, her biggest asset in life is her reputation," Langberg said. "That she got back today."

Love's social media postings have gotten her into trouble several times.

In 2011, she agreed to pay $430,000 to fashion designer Dawn Simorangkir over statements she posted on Twitter and Myspace. Simorangkir sued Love again last year, alleging the musician libeled her when Love accused Simorangkir of theft on the Howard Stern's radio show and taunted her on the social media site Pinterest. The case is pending, but Love said she's trying to be more careful about her online musings than she was when she tweeted about Holmes.

"I don't tweet like I did back then," Love said Friday.

That Time Joe Pesci Stuck His Fingers Up Jonah Hill's Butt

Well this is just great.

Jonah Hill was a guest on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" Thursday (Jan. 23) and revealed a wonderful encounter with Joe Pesci at a premiere of "The Wolf of Wall Street" recently.

"[Pesci] goes, 'You're great in the movie, kid, I'm really proud of you.' And I'm like, 'Thank you, your acting means so much to me,'" Hill recalled.

"And he goes, 'Here's what I want you to do: I want you to go buy a helmet.' And I go, 'okay…' He goes, 'I want you to keep the helmet next to your bed and then every night, I want you to go in the bathroom and put the helmet on -- every night. And if ever the helmet doesn't fit, it's because too many people are going up here.' And he puts his fingers in my ass!" Hill said and motioned.

Watch the clip above for the hilarious story.

Celebrities Prove Healthy Skin Is Always In On This Week's Best & Worst Beauty List (PHOTOS)

We spend a lot of time recreating the makeup looks worn by our favorite celebrities. But if we had to choose just one thing to have, it would be their healthy skin. (Having a Hollywood dermatologist on speed dial couldn't hurt either.)

This week, stars like Emma Roberts, Keira Knightley and Lupita Nyong'o left us absolutely speechless with their radiant skin. And we aren't ashamed to admit that we're totally envious of mommy-to-be Kerry Washington's glow.

Marvel at these healthy celebrity complexions below (plus see more statement-making beauty).

BEST: Emma Roberts

emma roberts

Roberts is channeling a young Jennifer Aniston with this new asymmetrical bob haircut. Her bold brows, lush lashes, glowy skin and pink lips round out this fresh look.

BEST: Lupita Nyong'o

lupita nyongo

The "12 Years A Slave" star lands on our best beauty list for the umpteenth time thanks to her luminous complexion, which she's accentuated this time around with a neutral smokey eye and burgundy lipstick.

BEST: Keira Knightley

keira knightley

It should be a crime to have skin this perfect. Knightley's casual updo, smoldering eyeliner (with a hint of sparkle) and bright orange lips make for our ultimate best beauty look of the week.

BEST: Kerry Washington

kerry washington

Sure, this "Scandal" star's face is contoured to perfection. But it wouldn't stand out as much if her skin tone was naturally dull. Washington's graphite smokey eye makeup and raisin lip gloss add the finishing touches.

BEST: Gemma Chan

gemma chan

The English fashion model-turned-film star's center-parted locks are super lush and shiny. And Chan's brunette hair color pops against her milky complexion and matte red lips.

WORST: Kelis

kelis

We rarely see Kelis on the red carpet, but we couldn't miss the singer-songwriter in these big curls, frosty eyeshadow, dramatic winged eyeliner and nude lip. Paired with the oversized earrings and fringe jacket, this look reminds us of a bad Diana Ross costume.

WORST: Ashley Roberts

ashley roberts

There is a lot going on with the former Pussycat Doll's hair and makeup. From the grayish-blonde slicked-back hair and wild brows to the misplaced bronzer and faded purple lipstick, we have to wonder if Ashley looked in the mirror before heading out.

WORST: Lady Gaga

lady gaga

lady gaga

Outlandish is Lady Gaga's thing, but even this look is too far out there for the pop star. Her silver braided wig looks like a mop, and those green crystals on her face are just tacky. But we do love her glossy red lips.

WORST: Claire Danes

claire danes

Danes could play a character in a remake of "The Stepford Wives" with her overdone retro hair. The 34-year-old actress' skin tone looks washed out with that icy blue eyeshadow and unflattering shade of orange lipstick.

WORST: Juliette Lewis

juliette lewis

We highly doubt Lewis was going for George Washington-esque hair, but she nailed it! The dated hairstyle and heavy makeup bring unwanted attention to the fine lines and wrinkles on her face (something every woman can relate to).

Leonardo DiCaprio Goes Full 'Titanic' During Jonah Hill's 'SNL' Monologue

Jonah Hill's "SNL" opening monologue got an extra dose of panty-dropping star power when Leonardo DiCaprio crashed the stage.

DiCaprio came out to set Hill straight after he began his monologue by acting like a big shot. But things quickly got back on track when the two re-enacted the famous "Jack, I'm flying" scene from "Titanic."

Aww, we never knew we wanted to see a Leo/Jonah cuddle session, but here we are.

Sandra Bullock Stuns In Strapless Black Dress

'SNL' Scorecard: Jonah Hill Took A Ride On Titanic

$
0
0
Jonah Hill has quietly become a good “SNL” host. His name doesn’t get mentioned in the same sentence as Timberlake or Jon Hamm (who somehow hasn’t hosted since 2010), but here he is -- back for a third time -- giving another solid performance.

Though, the cast is way too big right now. It’s impossible to get to know the cast when there are 17 (!) cast members fighting for airtime. There's no way around it, the show just feels muddled right now. I thought the cast was a little too big when it was at 14 for the past few seasons – but 17 seems to be a real hindrance. Look, this was the 12th episode of the season and I’m still catching myself saying, “Wait, was that Brooks Wheelan? I think that was Brooks Wheelan.” My point: I really don't know who Brooks Wheelan is. (I don't mean to pick on Mr. Wheelan, I could mention quite a few other cast member names instead.) I don’t know what the immediate solution is (even with the upcoming departure of Seth Meyers, he’s being replaced in the cast by Colin Jost), but it’s been difficult to build a connection with this particular cast.

Sketch of the Night

”Lamborghini” (Bayer, Strong, Hill) I’ve never been a huge fan of this particular sketch. I mean, it’s certainly not “The Californians” when it comes to the echelon of “sketches I do not like,” but these always seemed like they were missing something or went on way too long. Having said that, this installment was hilarious. All of the jokes worked and Strong and Bayer have a rapport with each other now that’s really, really great. If the attitude is, “We’re going to keep doing this sketch until we get it right,” well, it’s done.

Score: 8.5

The Good

”Jonah Hill Monologue” (Hill, Wells, Milhiser, Killam, DiCaprio) Leonardo DiCaprio doesn’t really bother with the talk show circuit, so it’s a little startling to see him pop up on network television. It was interesting, because he seemed a bit if a natural on stage and it would be interesting to see him host some day – which, by the way, will never happen. Anyway, DiCaprio and Hill mocked “Titanic” and it was funny – and I’m sure, somewhere, Billy Zane threw a shoe at his television.

Score: 7.5

”Weekend Update” (Meyers, Strong, Thompson, McKinnon) I get sadder every week because Meyers and Strong keep getting better and better with each other – this week the two actually broke down laughing at one point. Look, I’m sure Colin Jost will be fine – but there’s no way possible that “Update” won’t suffer, at least temporarily. Watching videos of Jost doing standup, he’s okay, but he seems nervous. No one is doubting his ability to be funny, but it’s going to take some time for him gain confidence as a performer, especially in contrast to a pro like Meyers.

As solid as Meyers and Strong were last night, the individual segments were a mixed bag. Kenan Thompson as the police officer who arrested Justin Bieber was fine, if not forgettable. I like McKinnon’s Olya Povlatsky well enough, but I couldn’t stop thinking Why aren’t you playing Justin Bieber right now?!

Score: 7.0

”The Hit” (Thompson, Pharoah, Killam) Three hitman get distracted by the snow. Eh, this was nice. And I thought Thompson, Pharoah and Killam all had a nice little chemistry working.

Score: 6.8

”Cold Open: Men’s Figure Skating” (Killam, Strong, Moynihan, Pharoah, Bennett, McKinnon) The gist is that Vladimir Putin won’t allow gay athletes so the United States sends an all straight male figure skating team to the Olympics and they are predictably horrible. Honestly, the premise bugged me at first -- assumptions about the sexuality of male figure skaters and all -- but good gosh, Bobby Moynihan and Jay Pharoah won me over with their individual performances. If the actual Olympics featured Moynihan and Pharoah, I’d watch more male figure skating.

Score: 6.5

”Spike Jonze Trailer” (Hill, Bayer, Cera) It’s a little surprising that “SNL” would film a parody of “Her” considering how few people have actually seen “Her.” It’s a solid enough parody – this time, our protagonist falls in love with himself; also, Michael Cera shows up – but a movie like this seems ripe for a bigger payoff than the one we got.

Score: 6.0

”Couples Quiz” (Thompson, Hill, Strong, Killam, Zamata) Jonah Hill clogged the toilet. Okay, fine, I laughed. What do you want from me? I’m only human. SOMETIMES POOP JOKES CAN BE FUNNY!

Score: 6.0

The Bad

”Inside SoCal” (Bennett, Mooney, O’Brien, Wheelan, Killam, Hill, Moynihan) First, I do love that Tarn Killam said “Philomania” with Leonardo DiCaprio who accidentally invented that word at the Golden Globes lurking backstage. As for the sketch … I don’t know. Look, I like Bennett and Mooney’s particular brand of humor, but the kinda, sorta play the same guys every time they do these shorts. I mean, they are getting them on the air, which is important, so why would they stop? But I’d like to see them do something else other than these two guys. (Also, was that Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball for the Super Nintendo playing in the background?)

Score: 5.0

”Benihana” (Hill, Bayer, Wells, Zamata, McKinnon, Pedrad) Seeing six-year-old Adam Grossman isn’t quite the same without Bill Hader’s sad dad sulking next to him. Anyway, I have no idea how this became a recurring sketch. (I once mentioned this sketch to Hill during an interview and he barked back something that at least seemed to be irritation, yet they keep happening. Anyway, who knows?) At least there’s an added inside joke this time with Benihana being a punchline in “The Wolf of Wall Street.”

Score: 4.8

”Boss Dinner” (Hill, Bennett, McKinnon, Thompson, Bryant) I think Aidy Bryant got more screen time in Adam Scott’s “Bosom Buddies” recreation than she did on “SNL” last night. (Again, this cast is way too big.) Anyway, Jonah Hill screams a lot. That’s about all you need to know.

Score: 3.0

The Ugly

”Ranch” (Hill, Pedrad, Strong) “Hey, isn’t it funny when horses kick people?” “Yes, it was a laugh riot on ‘Mad Men’ … say, should we do a whole sketch about a horse that kicks people?” “Yes, yes we should.”

(Mercifully, this sketch is not online because a Joni Mitchell song was briefly performed.)

Score: 2.0

NEW YORK (AP) — The Kevin Hart, Ice Cube police comedy "Ride Along" cruised to the top of the box office again, taking in $21.2 million in its second weekend.

On the football-free weekend, no new challenger emerged at the multiplexes. The week's lone new wide release, the monster thriller "I, Frankenstein," flopped. It opened with just $8.3 million according to studio estimates Sunday. "Ride Along" was followed by the Navy SEAL drama "Lone Survivor." It earned $12.6 million in its fifth week, giving it a cumulative total of $93.6 million.

In third was the animated squirrel comedy "The Nut Job," which made $12.3 million in its second week.

Grammys Host LL Cool J's Greatest Hits (VIDEO)

In case you're young and wondering why that dude from "NCIS: Los Angeles" is hosting the Grammys again, it's not because of LL Cool J's "Accidental Racist" duet debacle with Brad Paisley last year.

Nope, Ladies Love Cool James because of the Queens-born rapper's pivotal role in the evolution of hip-hop, breaking into the top 40 by mixing blazing brag-raps with lady-baiting love jams. From his debut rapping "I Can't Live Without My Radio" at age 16 in the Run-DMC movie "Krush Groove" and his mainstream breakthroughs "I'm Bad" and "I Need Love" to his "don't call it a comeback" comeback three years later with the Grammy-winning banger "Mama Said Knock You Out" and even occasional latter-period tracks like "Phenomenon" Cool J has earned his place in hip-hop history.

While LL is more of an actor than a rapper now -- his 13th album, last year's "Authentic," was a critical and commercial bomb -- his Grammys hosting gig is a good opportunity to remember back in the days when he was bigger and deffer.

With her marriage falling apart and nearing its end, Khloe admitted that she was basically homeless -- by her own personal choice -- on the latest episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." Even though Lamar Odom is no longer in the house, she couldn't bring herself to be there.

“I don’t want to be at home by myself. So, I’ve basically thrown all my bare necessities into some suitcases and I’m kind of living out of my car right now," she said. Khloe said she didn't want to sell her house, but knew she would have to. And apparently, she got to a place in her life where she was able to. "The Big Bang Theory" star, and newlywed Kaley Cuoco reportedly dropped $5.5 million for it.

Now Khloe is reportedly looking for a new place closer to mom Kris Jenner's home. Over at Hollywood Life, Chloe Melas said it "definitely hasn't been easy" watching Khloe's marriage crumble on television. It's become the main storyline of this season so far.
