Aaron Carter Files For Bankruptcy, Claims He Only Has $8,000 In Assets

The pop star lifestyle apparently hasn't treated Aaron Carter so well -- because the 25-year-old just filed for bankruptcy.

Carter filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, according to TMZ, claiming that his assets total just $8,232.16. He says his monthly income is $1,998.75 and his monthly expenses are $2,005.

On top of that, he has financial liabilities that reportedly surpass $2.2 million. He allegedly owes $1.4 million to the IRS and has an American Express bill for $31,166.

As the younger brother of Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter, Aaron found his own fame in the late '90s. He's best known for his 2000 album, "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)," featuring the single, "I Want Candy." The album went triple platinum (yes, triple), he opened for BSB and Britney Spears, and had romances with the likes of Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan.

These days, things are different.

I’ve been living a different lifestyle,” Carter told the Wichita Eagle last month. “I don’t party. I’ve partied enough. I don’t go out. I focus on other things that are much more important. I focus on being an entertainer. I love performing. That’s what I’m about. I want to take that next step.”

He is currently touring on the West Coast, and has a show lined up in Eugene, Ore., for Thursday night (Nov. 21).

Jennifer Lawrence Goes To Hospital For Ulcer, Discovers She Actually Just Has Severe Gas

Jennifer Lawrence had to delay her "Late Show" appearance, because of a health scare that turned out to just be really bad gas. After three weeks of of stomach pain, she went to the emergency room, thinking she had an ulcer. "You can only s--t your pants so many times, before you have to go to the hospital," she said.

jen

Of course, once at the hospital, she was wacky yet charming enough to leave with an interview anecdote. She's self aware about what a "head case" she is. After her "endo-scopo-something" (probably endoscopy), she woke up and started talking about the Kardashians! How could you not love her, America?! She had a tiny camera inside her and then she just wanted to talk about Kim and the gang.

Seriously, you need to watch this interview, so that you can see Jennifer Lawrence out Jennifer-Lawrence-ing herself while discussing flatulence.

Happy Birthday, Goldie Hawn!

Sixty-eight years ago today, on Nov. 21, 1945, Goldie Hawn (who was named after her Great Aunt Goldie) was born in Washington, DC. Though she originally wanted to be a dancer, Hawn became famous when she was a featured cast member on Rowan and Martin's zany variety series, "Laugh In" in 1968. The following year, she went on to win an Oscar for her supporting role in the comedy "Cactus Flower" with Walter Matthau and Ingrid Bergman.

Hawn's film career continued in the '70s, starring in classics like "Shampoo" and "The Sugarland Express" (which was Steven Spielberg's first theatrical film). She returned to the Academy Awards in 1980, when she was nominated for Best Actress for her film "Private Benjamin." Hawn also starred in fan-favorite films from the '80s and '90s like "Overboard," "Death Becomes Her" and "The First Wives Club." Her last film was in 2002, when she co-starred with Susan Sarandon in "The Banger Sisters," so hopefully she returns to the screen soon.

But, enough with the biography -- let's celebrate Goldie's birthday with some classic pics of the beautiful and bubbly comic actress.

Why Kevin Spacey Gifted Woody Allen With A Netflix Subscription

This is great: Kevin Spacey is a man who needs no introduction, except when he wants to be cast in a new Woody Allen film. And what better way to get Allen acquainted with his work than to gift him with a Netflix subscription so he can binge watch "House of Cards"?

In an interview for GQ's "Men of the Year" issue, Spacey explains: "I believe this: If an actor wants a role or wants to work with somebody, then you do everything within reason to try to get that role. If they want you to audition, you audition. If they want you to screen-test, you screen-test. If they want you to come and tap-dance in their hallway, you tap-dance in their hallway."

And since a role in a Woody Allen film is Spacey's white whale, the unabashed tap dancer got proactive. "I wrote him a letter and introduced myself as an actor he may or may not know. And I sent him a Netflix subscription, because I want him to watch my work."

To everyone's relief, Spacey's plea didn't do unanswered. He tells GQ that Allen wrote him back "an absolutely wonderful letter" to let him know he is "in contention for things in the future." Oh, and he thanked him for the Netflix subscription.

Maggie Q: 'Nikita' Final Season Is 'On Steroids'

$

It was a hot, muggy day in September when I, frizzy hair and all, visited the suburban set of “Nikita.” It’s pretty much what you would have expected — crew members everywhere, extras dressed in military gear, army vehicles parked along the street, fans trying to get a glimpse of the stars and the action. It may have been in the outskirts of Toronto but each house in the cul-de-sac had an American flag at its door and there was a white mailbox adorning each lawn. It felt like Wisteria Lane — with a little camouflage and a can of whoop-ass thrown in. Oh, and Maggie Q, Shane West, Aaron Stanford, Noah Bean and Lyndie Greenwood milling around.

It’s been three fabulous seasons of kicking ass and taking names but, sadly, “Nikita” comes to a close when its shortened fourth season ends on Dec. 27. At the time, Q, who was in the middle of filming the fifth (out of six) episodes, was in a little bit of denial. “It’s weird, it doesn’t feel like it’s ending even though it is.” That’s exactly what long-time fans are feeling. While we should be happy the show gets a true ending, at the same time, six episodes?! Is that really long enough to properly wrap up a show as mythology-heavy as “Nikita”?

According to the cast, yes.

“If we had stopped at the end of Season 3, it would’ve felt horrible,” says Devon Sawa, who plays Sam (or Owen, if you’re Nikita). “It would’ve felt horrible to the fans, the diehards who’ve really watched all along, all those open stories … It’s great, we’re all happy, we got these six, and we’re doing some amazing stuff.”

Here’s where we left off: Nikita was framed for killing the president and instead of staying with her friends and fighting, she went on the run solo — arguably, what she does best — and is now the most wanted woman in the world. But the question is, can she do it all on her own, or will she finally realize she needs the team, just as much as they need her?

“Had it been a regular season with as many as 13 or 22 episodes, she probably would have been on her own for a while, maybe until 7 or 8,” says Maggie Q, who plays the titular character. “But in this, she’s got to meet up with them soon because it’s over in six. It’s all kind of on steroids, and has to be pushed forward quicker than you would normally.”

According to West, who plays Michael, the premiere picks up three weeks after the president’s murder.

“Team Nikita is still together — but without Nikita,” details West. “It’s about: how likely are we going to find her, are we going to be able to clear her name, clear our names, and resolve this all in six episodes? It’s going to hit the ground running.”

West added that the first scene is “going to throw everybody off, scare viewers a little bit and then we keep going from there. I’ve been very proud of these first five. Hopefully the sixth, the last one, is just as good.”

Why would Nikita want to do all this on her own? Yes, she’s always been an independent woman who doesn’t need anyone, but like I tell my daughter, there’s nothing wrong with asking for help and in the last couple of seasons, she has grown close to and come to rely on all these people who have become her friends, her family.

“Nikita has her own plan in mind and executing it the way she does, she doesn’t really realize that the team is tracking her and trying to help from far away, even though she doesn’t want it,” explains Q. “I loved how this season was going to start [similar to Season 1], which was Nikita on her own, rogue, by herself again. That’s why I fell in love with the show, that sort of independent thing. That’s always been her challenge, and she reverted right back to that because she was put in that situation and now she’s got to fight her way back out of that again.”

West is pleased with how it’s all coming to fruition. “We managed to get a lot done, wrap up some storylines, include some new stuff in the first five and we still make it action-packed, fast-paced, what we have been used to.”

But it’s not all action, assures West. “One of the great things about this show that I've always loved is there are always underlying storylines. There's always one main storyline, but it spreads out in different paths. And with this season, obviously there's only the six episodes, and the intent is to clear Nikita's name for the accusation of the wrongful assassination of the President, and for the rest to clear their names from their pasts in Division. But the underlying story for Michael and Nikita is: what the heck is happening with Mikita and are they able to get together again? That's my main storyline for this year.”

West adds: “What happens with Birkhoff and Sonya? What's going on with Ryan? This potential setup with Alex and Owen/Sam? It's a lot of stuff. Then, what's going to happen to Amanda? Does she die or does she not die? We killed all the bad guys before, maybe we'll pull a surprise and she doesn't die.”

Ahh, Amanda. How does she balance her involvement with The Shop (or The Group, as they call themselves) with her obsession with Nikita? The answer is easy: she doesn’t. “I think Amanda is now — especially after that personal episode she had with Nikita — she's pretty much off the rails,” says West. “The side storyline with Amanda is that she really wants Nikita gone and I think that will be part of her undoing this season.”

Q concurs. “Even I read the scripts over and am like, “Really? Really?! Amanda being involved with them, it’s clever, for sure, her part. It gives her an amount of power we didn’t really realize. In the second and third season, she was this woman scorned and she was out to get Nikita because she had hurt her. Now, things get very interesting. This is like world domination Amanda which is way scarier than the other Amanda.” Gulp.

As for Mikita fans, Q acknowledges that Michael isn’t happy with Nikita and it’s going to take some time to earn his trust back and realize she did what she did “out of love and nothing else.”

West divulges that “there's going to be some sadness. There are some deaths involved. Multiple. The fans may be upset with some deaths.” Ugh. Sounds dire but the actor is still hopeful the fans get closure.

“I hope for Michael and Nikita's relationship that there is a positive ending for them. They've been through so much in their own personal lives and they have been through so much together. To have one of them die or them not to be together just makes it a lot more sad and dark. I'm not quite sure [showrunner] Craig [Silverstein] necessarily wants to go that route. So I'm hoping to see a positive future for them.”

Division was destroyed, the stories were getting increasingly complex, and it looked like a new beginning for the series, so it does suck for those of us who are truly invested because, honestly, it was getting good. Really good. “Nikita” evolved from a suspenseful spy show to a fully fleshed-out drama that balanced a ton of action, romance and some truly heartbreaking moments. And just when it looked like it was getting too dark, too serious, the fantastic writers always managed to break it up, and seamlessly throw in some comedy, whether it was Owen/Sam bumbling around as Michael rolled his eyes, or the ongoing sister/brother relationship between Nikita and her nerd, Birkhoff.

But if there is one show that can pull off a compact final season, it’s Team Nikita. Sawa puts it best: “The six can be put on a shelf on its own. It does have the closure of all the other stories but it’s like a big action movie.” Buckle up, fans, because it looks like it’s going to be a wild of ride into the sunset.

“Nikita” returns on Friday, Nov. 22 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW, and on CTV Two at an undisclosed date.

Check out these cool photos from the original "Addams Family" TV series that ran on ABC from 1964 to 1966. The series was filmed in black and white, which fit the Addams' dark nature, but the set was actually decorated in bright colors, as proven by these pictures shot by Richard Fish:

Liam Hemsworth Says He's More Grounded Than Ever After Breakup

$

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — The post-Miley Liam Hemsworth says he's in a really good place.

"I'm more comfortable in my own skin than I've ever been in my whole life," said "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" star, who broke up with fiance Miley Cyrus in September. Hemsworth had proposed to Cyrus in 2012 after they met on the set of "The Last Song" in 2010. "Over the last five years I've learned so much," said the 23-year-old Australian-born actor, who moved to Los Angeles at 18 to take on Hollywood. "The first few years in LA were really tough and scary, but I had to figure things out for myself."

Hemsworth's popularity jumped after he appeared in the first "Hunger Games" in 2012, but it was his relationship with Cyrus that generated the most publicity for him.

He was unfazed by the tabloid attention, however.

"What I always keep in mind is that I know what the truth is and that's all that matters," said the actor at a recent studio event to promote "Catching Fire." ''I know I'm a good person and these days I feel like I'm more centered and grounded than I've ever been."

Hemsworth's big brother, 30-year-old "Thor: The Dark World" star Chris Hemsworth, applauds his sibling's thick skin.

"I am far more sensitive to that stuff and would probably take it more personally," he told The Associated Press recently. "My No. 1 rule is don't Google yourself. But Liam can just close the door and go 'Yeah, whatever.' I admire that."

What contributes to the younger Hemsworth's calm nature? "I read a lot of Zen books," he said. "And I grew up surfing, so that has always been my escape."

He also has a fondness for kick-boxing. "But I don't fight people," he insisted. "It's a mental release to go and beat the (expletive) out of a bag for an hour."

Returning as Gale Hawthorne in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," which opens Friday, Hemsworth said hanging with the film's cast, especially co-star Jennifer Lawrence, helped him stay positive.

"For a few years I went down a path where I forgot to be in the moment and enjoy the moment," he said. "But being around someone like Jen, who is so honest and laughs all day long, I am forced to be in the right now. I'm much happier."

Arcade Fire's 'Afterlife' Video Is Better Than Most 2013 Movies

At the YouTube Awards in early November, Spike Jonze directed a dancing Greta Gerwing in the live video for Arcade Fire's "Afterlife." Neither Jonze nor Gerwig participated in the official visuals for the band's latest single, but maybe that's a good thing? Written and directed by Canadian filmmaker Emily Kai Bock, Arcade Fire's "Afterlife" video is better than a lot of this year's feature films. The clip, running just under eight minutes, focuses on three generations of men, whose nightly dreams help them process the death of their family's matriarch. Watch the video below; more on Bock can be found at her website.

Daniel Radcliffe Says Celebs Who Tweet Should Have No Expectation Of Privacy

Though "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe is one of the most instantly recognizable faces on the planet, he's not known as a fame-seeker and very much values his privacy. And in what might be viewed as a controversial interview with SkyNews, the 24-year-old actor reveals he actively avoids the spotlight and claims there are steps celebrities can take to better protect themselves from the public's prying eyes.

"There's certain things you can do to make it a lot easier on yourself," Radcliffe explained. "If you don't, for instance, go to premieres that aren't for a film you're in, or don't just turn up at other events and stuff like that, then that's going to help to not fuel the interest."

Radcliffe also says he doesn't engage in social media, because the celebrities who go on Twitter and tell fans what they are doing every moment of their lives have no expectation of privacy when it comes down to it:

"Also, I don't have Twitter and I don't have Facebook, and I think that makes things a lot easier because if you go on Twitter and tell everybody what you're doing moment to moment and then claim you want a private life, then no one is going to take that request seriously."

And while everyone from President Obama to Gwyneth Paltrow is on Twitter, most A-list stars tend to shun the micro-blogging site.

Both Jennifer Lawrence and Tina Fey, who would undoubtedly be hilarious on Twitter, have both dismissed the site. "I'm not even on Twitter and I'm so worried about it," Lawrence told David Letterman in January 2013. "That would be like a punishment for me. A judge would be like, 'Six months of probation and you have to write down what you think about random things nobody cares about.'"

Meanwhile, Fey has said that the narcissism of the site keeps her away, explaining in an "Ask Tina" video, "Most people are so f--king boring that they should shut up."

Kim Kardashian And Kanye West's Wedding Might Be Aired On TV

$

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are considering televising their wedding, even though her made-for-TV wedding to Kris Humphries in 2011 didn't have such a fairytale ending. Maybe the second time's a charm?

Us Weekly revealed Kardashian and West are discussing wedding plans and have been mulling over whether or not they will air it on TV.

"If they choose to film the wedding, it will be filmed by them, not a TV crew. And they'd sell it to a network," an insider told the magazine about the upcoming nuptials, which are set to be "magnificent" and "on the small side."

West has said he plans to marry Kardashian next summer, and fighter jets might be at the ceremony.

It's also quite possible the Kimye engagement will air on TV as well. After video of their proposal leaked, the couple sued the man behind the clip, YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley. The lawsuit revealed West had "allowed cameras to film the event for possible broadcast on E! Entertainment Television," according to Billboard.

"Exclusive rights, such as those sold by plaintiffs to publication of video of the event, are particularly valuable," the lawsuit stated. "If people violate these rights ... they are of substantially diminished value."

Alas, the 33-year-old beauty is no stranger to having cameras around for the most intimate moments of her life. Aside from the fact that her and her family's day-to-day has been documented since "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" first aired in 2007, Kardashian married Humphries in a two-part wedding special for E! back in 2011.

"Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event" drew in a total of 10.5 million viewers for the entertainment network, according to the New York Post. Their marriage lasted 72 days. The divorce was finalized in June.

Taylor Swift Stuns In Bodycon Dress At Weinstein Co. Holiday Party

Taylor Swift is known for her love of all things sweet and sparkly, which is why we are pleasantly surprised to see the singer embracing her sultry side.

The 23-year-old has increasingly been trading in her prom dress-inspired gowns of yesteryear for sleeker body-hugging dresses. Most recently, the maroon bodycon knee-length one she donned at the Weinstein Co. holiday party on Thursday night (Nov. 21) in West Hollywood.

Given that it's a sexier look than we usually see on Swift, we can't help but wonder: Was she trying to subtly remind her ex-boyfriend Harry Styles -- who was spotted out on a date with Kendall Jenner the previous day -- what he's missing?

The 'Girls' Season 3 Trailer Is Here And It's Just As 'Girls'-y As Expected

"Girls" is almost back!

HBO released the trailer of Lena Dunham's "Girls" Season 3, which features lots of great life advice ("It's really liberating to say 'no' to the sh-- you hate"), a country house outside the city and Shosh's Ugg boots.

Earlier this morning, Dunham posted a 15-second teaser trailer to Instagram (below), but the full-length version features Dunham twerking on a grave, so it's exponentially better.

Here are some key scenes that hint at what's to come:
  • Hannah and Adam get back together for at least one make out scene.

  • More Elijah!

  • Hannah's hair is way better post-hacksaw haircut.

  • Marnie still has no idea what's going on.

  • Ray wants Shosh back, duh.

  • The entire gang will definitely spend some time in a car and outside the city.

  • RIP Charlie.

"Girls" Season 3 premieres on Jan. 12, 2014 on HBO.

See The Celebs Who Flopped On This Week's Worst-Dressed List

$
0
0
On this week's worst-dressed list, many stars wore ensembles that didn't suit them. Jennifer Lawrence looked out of place (and uncomfortable) in a completely sheer gown, while Naomi Judd's shiny red frock made her look matronly.

Meanwhile, the usually fashionable Kate Bosworth struggled in a look that washed her out, and L'Wren Scott's throwback outfit was an epic fail.

Check out our picks for worst-dressed of the week and let us know if you agree

Jennifer Lawrence

jlawq

This dress seems all wrong for the down-to-earth actress. The extremely fashion-forward gown doesn't jive with her style and we have to say, we are sick to death of the sheer trend. If her ensemble had been lined, it could have been a home run.

Claire Danes

danes

Red is a great color on the "Homeland" star, but the shape of the jacket is making her shoulders look much broader than they are. And that heavy eyeliner has got to go, it's too dark for her features.

Michelle Dockery

michelle

Sheer + Leather + Lace + Feathers + Vinyl appliqué = Too much.

L'Wren Scott

wren

This outfit is definitely referencing another era, we're just not sure which. The turtleneck, combined with the long coat and loose-fitting pants are slightly Victorian, but we're confused on how the metallic shoes and burgundy headband fit in.

Jena Malone

jena

The floor-length, embellished dress with the sheer paneling is a lot all at once. One wrong move in this outfit and there is a guaranteed wardrobe malfunction.

Toni Braxton

toni

The worst part of this ensemble has to be the shoes -- the red satin pumps cheapen the look. And the print is also a little off, it looks blurry or something.

Kate Bosworth

kate

Bosworth's dress looks like a straight jacket gone wrong. The straps all over the frock are confusing, while the combination of beige and white is washing her out.

Naomi Judd

judd

We understand that she's at holiday event, but dressing in theme isn't necessary. The top-to-bottom sheen on the dress, plus its silhouette, is aging the country singer.

Hayley Atwell

atwell

Atwell seems to be a little too full-busted to wear this dress. The feathers and embellishments are hardly covering what needs to be covered, while her red lipstick is too harsh for the delicate gown.

Zosia Mamet

zosia

There are numerous things that are wrong with this ensemble. The color is washing out the fair-skinned actress, while the fit seems to be off. We also wish the gown wasn't dragging on the floor -- it looks sloppy.

These Celebs Schooled Us On Style On This Week's Best-Dressed List

$

This week's best-dressed list was filled with stars who stuck to classics. Julia Louis-Dreyfus shone in a long black dress, while Amy Adams looked incredibly sexy in a simple, purple gown.

Though many looks left us in awe this week, our favorite look of the week belonged to Spanish actress Michelle Jenner. The brunette beauty stunned in a white Dior dress that fit her body like a glove.

Check out our picks for best-dressed and let us what you think.

Elizabeth Banks in Alexander McQueen

banks

Wearing feathers on the red carpet is often a challenge, as they can easily come off as costumey. But here, the "Catching Fire" star paired them with an elegant, long navy dress featuring a sleek halter neckline, which balanced out the playful plumage.

Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior

jlaw

The "Hunger Games" heroine's press tour has been rough (there have been a few worst-dressed moments), but she seems to have found her footing in this vanilla-colored strapless gown with a crystal embellishment. It's refined yet beautiful, and the slightly higher hemline in the front of the dress allows us to see her delicate strappy shoes. This is also the best neckline to show off her new short 'do.

Princess Charlene of Monaco

princess

Velvet dresses aren't just for the holiday season anymore. Though many people are scared of the fabric because it can easily look outdated, if it's worn in a modern silhouette (and with a fierce red lip), it can be lovely.

Amy Adams in Vivienne Westwood

amy adams

Sometimes less is more, as proven by Adams. The dress itself is rather simple, but the grape color really pops against her fair skin and makes this a standout look.

Eva Longoria in Victoria Beckham

eva

Longoria's dress is a very wearable take on the popular lingerie trend. The lacey straps on her gown are a subtle nod to the fad, but the actress kept the rest of her look classic, making this an ensemble that can stand the test of time.

Kiernan Shipka in Miu Miu

shipka

The 14-year-old "Mad Men" star looked cute and age-appropriate in this matching top and skirt combo. But what really put this ensemble over the top was her tri-colored pumps.

Naomie Harris in Burberry

naomie

Long, clean lines are what make this outfit so successful. Harris' pin straight hair and floor-length gown are making her look 10 feet tall.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus in David Meister

julia

This body skimming black dress is a great silhouette for the "Veep" star. It is hugging her in all the right places, while the keyhole embellishment is adding just the perfect amount of bling to her otherwise neutral look.

Michelle Jenner in Christian Dior

michelle jenner

This jewel-encrusted white dress is a real show-stopper. The interesting neckline is a nice departure from what we usually see on the red carpet, and her graphic pumps kick the look up a notch.

Kendall And Kylie Jenner Do The Safety Dance For Virgin America For Reasons We Can't Comprehend

There is officially no escaping the Kardashian-Jenner clan, not even at 30,000 feet.

For reasons we can't quite comprehend, Kendall and Kylie Jenner were chosen to team up with "American Idol" alum Todrick Hall for Virgin America's new in-flight safety video, which will be the first airline safety video set entirely to music and performed in dance, according to E! News.

The video states that Virgin American is holding auditions for future versions of their new safety video, but no word on whether winners would be working with the teenage reality stars.

It's not clear why the Jenner sisters were chosen for the campaign since they haven't exactly been setting examples of good safety down here on the ground, let alone in the air. Kendall has repeatedly come under fire for her dangerous driving practices, which include texting while driving and the even more alarming selfie-taking while on the road.
