A paparazzo has reportedly filed battery charges against Jennifer Love Hewitt's fiance Brian Hallisay. According to TMZ, Hallisay and a pregnant Hewitt were allegedly involved in a confrontation with the photographer after he tried to take their picture as they left Toscana restaurant in Brentwood, Calif., on Friday night (September 6). Sources say the couple told the cameraman to stop, but that he kept snapping away. That's when Hallisay got aggravated. Insiders tell TMZ that the 34-year-old actor got into it with the paparazzo, who claims that his camera hit him in his face, near his eye, during the scuffle. Reportedly, Hewitt felt so terrible that she allowed photographers to take a few pictures before the expectant parents left. But the story doesn't end there. According to law enforcement sources, the photographer went to the police station a few hours later and filed a battery report against Hallisay. Still, insiders say there was no visible injury to his face or eye. Hewitt, 34, is expecting her first child with Hallisay in December. This story is developing.

'Fifty Shades Of Grey' Adaptation Almost Didn't Have Charlie Hunnam As Christian Grey

LOS ANGELES — Charlie Hunnam will likely have to bare all and engage in some very graphic sex scenes as the leading man in "50 Shades of Grey," but he says it's not a new dimension for him. "You know what, I had such a baptism of fire with regards to sexuality on camera at the beginning of my career," explained Huunam. "I starred in the British channel Four miniseries `Queer As Folk' where I played a young, gay character and there were some incredible, explicit sex scenes on that show. So I feel, and now I am 16 years older and more mature so I don't anticipate them being too much of a problem. It's like anything else, just an exciting challenge." After months of speculation, the 33-year-old Hunnam was chosen to play Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, the main characters in the erotic, best-selling novel "50 Shades of Grey," by E. L. James. Hunnam talked about his hotly anticipated role on Saturday night as he attended the premiere of the sixth season of "Sons of Anarchy," on which he plays the character Jax. One of the directors for the FX show revealed that Hunnam initially turned down the role of Grey. "One week ago or two weeks ago, he was on my set when they came back to him and they wanted him to do it because he passed on it once, you know," Peter Weller said. "They came back to him and I said, `Charlie, Charlie, Charlie, what do you think, this is too pulpy or something?' He said, `Ah.' `Well, let me give you the list of actors who did matinee idol style stuff, beginning with Cary Grant let's go there. If you don't do this, I'll burn your house down.'" However, Hunnam, who also starred in in this summer's robot-monster battle "Pacific Rim," said he wasn't hesitant to accept the role – rather, he just wasn't sure the timing was right. "I just, there was a bit of a timing issue where I just wanted to insure that I was going to have enough time to really do the preparation so I can bring this guy to life and do him justice and when they decided to push the schedule to accommodate that then I was a no-brainer and I was in," he said. While Hunnam is excited to play Grey, his girlfriend, Morgana McNelis, isn't particularly excited about him filming explicit love scenes with Johnson, the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith. "Of course, it's difficult being with an actor, you know?" said Hunnam. "She is required to share certain parts of me with the world that she wouldn't necessarily choose to do, but we have a great relationship and she loves me and wants to be with me and we've been together a long time now, and I think she understands and has come to terms with the fact that there are certain elements of me that she is going to have to share. This is an extreme example of that, but thankfully we do have seven and a half years of history together, so it won't be a big problem." Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, the film is to be released next August.

"Mistresses" is coming to an end and all will be revealed in the finale. On the summer series, Milano plays Savannah 'Savi' Davis, a lawyer who has an affair with a colleague while trying to start a family with her chef husband. "I play a woman that cheats on her husband in the first episode," series star Alyssa Milano told The Huffington Post while promoting Febreze's new Sleep Serenity collection. "And she gets pregnant and she doesn’t know who the father of the baby is. So, in the finale we will definitely know who the baby daddy is." "Mistresses" also stars Yunjin Kim, Rochelle Aytes and Jes Macallan. Milano said the role was challenging. "It was hard to play a woman whose life is completely unraveling based on a decision that she made," she said. "It was a very emotional time because our writers were smart enough that they tried to stay true to what a person would actually be going through, they didn’t glorify what she had done, so it was a lot of emotional stuff to play, which was rewarding, but challenging." Here's ABC's official description of the "Mistresses" finale titled "I Choose You":
A road trip to Palm Springs for Savi's birthday takes a shocking turn; April makes a decision about the two men in her life, Paul (Dondre' T. Whitfield) and Richard (Cameron Bender); and Elizabeth Grey confronts Karen in a final showdown, on the Season Finale of "Mistresses," MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. Penelope Ann Miller guest stars as Elizabeth Grey.

'All Is By My Side,' TIFF: Jimi Hendrix Film Fails Using Women, Not Music, To De-Mystify Legend

$

One of the truly great and original artists to emerge from the 1960s -- a decade packed to overflowing with truly great and original artists -- Jimi Hendrix remains to us an ambiguous, inchoate figure. A dreamer, a visionary, prone to violent outbursts and fits of cruelty, a man somehow both childlike in his earnest open-mindedness and as cold and remote as a distant moon, Hendrix is almost always understood -- if, indeed, he is ever really “understood” –- through the music he left for us. His biographical details just aren’t that helpful; even his closest bandmates seem to have found him mystifying. Of course, Hendrix’s extraordinary, revolutionary catalogue of three proper studio records, several live recordings, and various outtakes and bootlegs, are required listening for any serious student of rock’n’roll music. Which is why it is impressively daring and yet, finally, baffling that "All Is By My Side," writer-director John Ridley’s dramatization of the year before Hendrix emerged on the international music scene uses exactly none of the songs we tend to associate with the man. No “Hey Joe,” no “Purple Haze,” no “Foxy Lady” are to be heard anywhere in this film. Indeed, none of these works is ever even mentioned. Rather, Ridley has chosen to get at Hendrix -- a determined but, at 38 playing a 23-year old, distractingly old Andre Benjamin -- through the two women he was closest to in 1966. "All Is By My Side," then, aims to access the Hendrix’s obscure mind by studying the women who loved him: his muse and closest confidant Linda Keith (the luminous and compelling Imogen Poots) and volatile girlfriend Kathy Etchingham (an impressive Hayley Atwell). It’s a daring gambit, to be sure. Following the world premiere screening of "All Is By My Side" at the Toronto International Film Festival, Ridley (who also penned the screenplay) and Poots took questions from the audience, each one a variation on the same theme: why did you choose to tell the story of Hendrix through these women? Article continues after slideshow “I think, like a lot of people, I consider myself to be a Hendrix fan,” explained Ridley, looking very relaxed onstage in his neon sneakers and loose suit. He has answered this question before, one can be certain. “One night, very late,” he recounted,” I was crawling on the internet and I heard a song I had never heard before by Jimi Hendrix. […] For an artist who was amazing at interpreting emotion, [it was] probably one of the most searing, reaching and deep pieces of music.... And I looked at the title of the song that was on the screen and it was "Sending My Love to Linda". I just thought, 'Who is Linda?' 'Who is this person?'” Linda Keith was, in fact, Keith Richards’ girlfriend, and soon to be immortalized as the subject of one of the Rolling Stones’ best songs, the aching "Ruby Tuesday." In Ridley’s portrayal -- which does not always jibe with what one might know of Keith’s life story from other sources, notably Richards’ autobiography “Life” -- she was a fixture on the music scene in the mid-1960s, a gorgeous and brilliant posh woman with an impeccable taste for American blues music (and the men who played it well, some might add). She was not exactly a “groupie,” in Ridley’s rendering, but not exactly not one either. She introduced Hendrix to LSD, convinced music industry mavens to come and see his act, and finally connected him to Chas Chandler, the former bassist for The Animals who would become Hendrix’ manager. In the film’s telling, Hendrix might never have found his voice if it wasn’t for Linda Keith’s shepherding. “For me,” explains Ridley, “this part of the story had emotion, had depth, had a personal velocity. More importantly, for me, for a story to be relevant it has got to be informative. I wanted the audience to feel that sense of surprise, curiosity and revelation that I felt [while researching the film].” “I always felt that it was very much of a partnership,” adds Imogen Poots, whose Linda is the intellectual centre of Ridley’s film. “Like partners in crime, [Keith] let him get away with things that other people would have been suspicious about. She encouraged him to embrace his wild side.” Perhaps the funniest, but also the most telling, line in the film comes when Hendrix, after taking Keith’s advice to stop processing his naturally kinky hair, is described by one young woman to another as looking like “the wild man of Borneo.” Racist assumptions of primitivism are the dark undercurrents in Ridley’s examination of mid-1960s London, as they should be given the racial tensions of the day. But, ultimately, Ridley’s choice to access Hendrix through Linda Keith leaves us no more certain of his mind than when we sat down. “Maybe Jimi Hendrix played up this persona of being naïve, but he actually wasn’t that naïve,” suggests Poots. “Linda was very savvy about that. She knew where his mind was. And that’s a real secret: to be that close to somebody’s mind.” As the buzzing audience bled back into the balmy, rainy Toronto night, I wonder how many of them felt they had gained even an inkling of such a secret. More likely, what we came away with was the final acceptance that Jimi Hendrix will always remain to us unknowable, absent. Maybe it’s better that way. I don’t know. But, I went home and listened to "Electric Ladyland." As magical as ever.

'Real Housewives Of New Jersey' Recap: An End to Zen

Note: Do not read on if you have not yet seen Season 5, Episode 14 of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," titled "Zen Things I Hate About You" On the last night of the trip, alcohol (the ultimate therapist) helps convince the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" gang that they had a great time. "I think we all saw a little bit more of each other that we never saw before," Joe Giudice opines. At first I think he's referring to how Jacqueline is sitting bottomless on the couch, but then I realize she just has a crazy fuzzy blanket draped over her lady bits. Phew! For a second there, I thought she was inspired by nature to really let herself go. Jacqueline says she's "seeing a different Teresa know," but I'm pretty sure she's just very hammered and is, quite literally, seeing a blurry version of her friend. Now, she's totally ready to let the pain of the past be vodka under the bridge. Caroline's bullsh*t meter starts to beep, and she calls everyone out on this saccharine "Housewives Make Up For Real, 100 Percent Definitely This Time Part III" story line. "We've all been here before, we've all raised our glasses before" she says. She urges everyone to air any unsaid grievances in hopes of truly moving forward. There's a slight pause, and then Joe Gorga and his fedora speak up. "I'm not happy," he says. Contrary to popular belief, his hat has nothing to do with his emotional discord. He looks straight at Teresa and accuses her of being behind the cheating rumors. As Teresa sputters out a stunned defense, Joe boils over. "End it. END IT!" he screams before hurling his glass against a wall. Now that Bravo has ensured you'll be tuning in for the next 40 minutes, they flashback to 12 hours earlier, before the wine glass genocide of 2013. The sun rises, and so begins a pretty traumatic birthday for Melissa. She gets tea-bagged about two minutes after waking -- and I'm not talking about a steaming glass of Lipton. Joe jumps on top of her and does "the dip" in his PJ pants, because the best presents don't come in a box, they come on your ... whoa, now Teresa's in the room too! Apparently there's no knocking in Arizona, and Teresa's treated to a repression-worthy picture of her brother licking her sister-in-law's toes. Teresa's gift of "peace panties" (underwear with a sparkly peace sign on it) is pretty creepy as well, though Melissa's probably just relieved that nobody's touching her for a minute. Meanwhile, up on the trails, Rosie's having the first meltdown of the day. She tells Kathy that she's tired of being alone, and desperately wants someone who will love her and tell her she's great. "I'm freaking out!" she cries before smashing a water bottle on the ground. Seriously, what have beverages ever done to these people besides hydrate them? Water just wants to get along and make up 57-60 percent of your body, Rosie! Speaking of water, Joe Gorga, Rich, Joe Giudice and Chris decide to hang out by the pool and relax. I use "relax" as shorthand for "generally act like children and ruin the zen vibe of the entire resort." They push each other in the pool, scream like animals, and chase away two bathers who look like they were like, one second away from a nervous breakdown before Jersey invaded. I mean, I thought a melting walrus had somehow entered the pool area, but it was just Rich's body: that alone could send someone screaming into a double-session of psychoanalysis. Obesity aside, the men are in their glory. Joe Gorga even toasts to Joe Giudice, saying "I love you ... and we all see you're a good guy." Then, he compares himself to the horse from the previous day's therapy, because he would very much like to be ridden by a man. (Well, he actually says "because I'll always be there," but I think my interpretation is a little more cerebral.) Over at "Zennis Tennis," there's no love (get it?!) between Teresa and Melissa. In her interview, Caroline notes that the only way the sister-in-laws will heal is to have an argument and really voice their issues ... and this vicious game seems to be setting them up for just that. Joe Gorga would envy the way these women throw their balls around. After morning activities, the entire group comes together for a tightrope-walking partner activity high above the ground. They'll have to walk across a cable using their partner to balance, and it really does look terrifying. To add insult to injury, everyone has to suit up in helmets and harnesses that are like, one shade of pewter in the sexy department. Though Teresa's shaking like a fabu-leaf, she joins her brother atop the structure. It's very difficult for her to show weakness, but she eventually leans in and makes her brother -- and Sheryl Sandberg -- very happy. Though they fall a few steps later, they're both elated. Melissa's hesitant, but she finally decides to climb up with Teresa. "The hard part is just letting go," Teresa says. Melissa takes the lead, and soon they're moving as one. Now if only they could manage that on the ground .... Down below, Joe Gorga's not watching fondly as his sister and wife tip-toe toward civility. Instead, he's seething over a tweet from Penny that reads "she did wt! Really Mel u want to go there! How did u meet Joe? Bitch." Hey, Penny: I'll give you a nickel not to share your thoughts anymore. Later, as the gang gathers around the table, Melissa and Joe are still getting ready. Joe's ironing a shirt into submission and working himself up. His anxiety is palpable, but Melissa seems to have resigned herself to the reality of the situation: she's in a place she'd rather not be, with people she doesn't adore, and there's no way out until tomorrow. So, she stuffs herself into a baby prostitute's romper and heads outside to see if she can have her cake and maybe poison someone else's, too. Then, since nothing pairs better with dessert than discussing your father's "crooked dick," Joe Giudice treats the group to a rousing tale about the time his dad's Oscar Mayer wiener had a "heart attack." I am pretty sure that story is the reason the song "it's my party and I'll cry if I want to" was written. After Melissa blows out her candles, Rich asks her to share her birthday wish -- even though everyone knows that if you say it out loud it won't come true. Instead, Melissa stands up and lavishes praise on her pals, calling out everyone by name, except Teresa, Caroline and Jacqueline. For Caroline, it's clarification that no deep wounds between Teresa and Melissa have actually been healed. It doesn't seem premeditated, but perhaps that's the problem: Melissa simply doesn't give a second thought to the sister-in-law she's supposedly on great terms with. It's dangerous for all these sparks to fly in a place as dry as Arizona ... and it's pretty obvious that a blaze is just on the horizon. How do I know? Well, it's officially 12 hours later and we're back to where we started. Caroline "Zen Crusher" Manzo is being the bad guy and opening the can of worms, and Joe Gorga is claiming that Teresa shared his secrets with her faux-friends. Teresa takes no responsibility and asks them to drop the conversation, but nobody in the group is letting her off the hook. They start to butt in, but then go quiet so that Teresa, Joe and Melissa can have the conversation they've been therapy-ing around all week. Everyone basically begs Teresa to admit to even a smidgen of wrongdoing, but she refuses to budge. Her party line is "how could you not trust your own sister?," and she's sticking to it. Up to this point, Joe Gorga has stayed relatively calm, but he's pushed to the brink when Joe Giudice and Rich essentially tell him to ignore Penny and move on. He can't believe that nobody wants to help put the kibosh on the rumors, and hates the thought of just turning the other cheek while a total stranger trashes his family in public. Cue glass smash and total baby-Hulk meltdown. If there's one up-side to his violent outburst, it's that everyone was finally stunned into silence for the first time since birth. Melissa jumps up and reprimands her husband, calling him a "f---ing idiot" and dragging him into their room. "His heart is 10 times bigger than his temper. He gets so upset when people try to hurt his wife," she says by way of explanation. He comes back into the common area, and Kathy finally finds her voice. She tells them to unite as brother and sister and take a stand together against detractors. Joe Giudice jumps up (or whatever the slower equivalent is for a massive person) and grabs Joe Gorga so they can engage in that weird half-body slam that guys do instead of hugging. "I'm with you!" he says triumphantly. Teresa still doesn't want to give Penny the time of day, but she finally agrees to join the team. Even Melissa admits she finally feels content, and she breaks into a genuine smile (or at least as close to a smile as you can get with a brain full of Botox). Then, Al gets all excited and does a black power fist shake thing which is kind of awkward, but I'll give it to him. Per usual, Caroline sums up the entire experience perfectly. "We all go to Arizona and go through all these healing sessions, and all we had to do was what we do best: argue." So what have we learned tonight, dear reader? In times of crisis, eschew therapy and team building and just have a totally childish, screaming freak out. It works like a charm, and a red-with-rage face really highlights a deep tan! Think Teresa's lying about her innocence? I definitely don't trust her, and I'd love to hear your take. Leave a comment below or tweet me @sydneyraylevin.

Gwyneth Paltrow Feuding With Vanity Fair? Actress Reportedly Asks Celeb Pals To Deny Mag's Requests

What is Gwyneth Paltrow hiding, or what specifically doesn't she want to tell Vanity Fair? The New York Times reports the 40-year-old actress asked friends to decline requests from the magazine on an upcoming cover story the publication was planning to write about her:
“Vanity Fair is threatening to put me on the cover of their magazine,” Paltrow wrote by e-mail, according to someone who had seen the message. “If you are asked for quotes or comments, please decline. Also, I recommend you all never do this magazine again.”
Rumors that the actress was at odds with the magazine started back in June, when Page Six first reported that Paltrow declined Vanity Fair's offer for a cover story after the magazine ran unflattering pieces about production problems surrounding Brad Pitt's "World War Z," and Maureen Orth's article that claimed the Church of Scientology auditioned potential wives for Tom Cruise. Though Vanity Fair's editor-in-chief, Graydon Carter, has often relied on his friendships with many A-listers, the magazine's relationship with Hollywood's biggest stars may be changing. “Everyone grovels to Graydon and other writers there and covets invitations to their parties,” Leslee Dart, a publicist who represents Tom Hanks, Woody Allen and Meryl Streep, told The Times. “They’re going to be in for a rude awakening." John Turturro Talks Making 'Fading Gigolo' WIth Woody Allen

$

TORONTO — Not since the forgettable 2000 comedy "Picking up the Pieces" has Woody Allen starred in a film he didn't direct. But John Turturro managed to coax Allen back into acting for "Fading Gigolo" with an enticing role: an elderly but novice pimp. And it wouldn't have occurred if Allen and Turturro didn't happen to share a barber. Though Allen and Turturro knew each other somewhat (Turturro had a small part in Allen's "Hannah and Her Sisters" and was nearly cast in two other Allen films), they weren't close. "I knew he liked my work," Turturro said in a recent interview. "But I don't sit next to him at Knick games." Though both are Brooklyn-born New Yorkers who frequent Madison Square Garden, another city institution brought them together. Turturro mentioned a film idea one day while getting a trim at the salon. The barber liked the idea and later told it to Allen, who went for it. "It was one of those old-fashioned barbershop things," Turturro says. "Fading Gigolo" premiered over the weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival. In the film, Turturro plays a New York florist who begins making money on the side (with the help of Allen's character) by rendering his services to women. "Fading Gigolo" is seeking distribution in Toronto, with a release most likely sometime next year. To follow this year's "Blue Jasmine," the 76-year-old Allen has been working on his next film in France, and didn't attend the Toronto premiere. He has acted in several of his own films in recent years, including 2012's "To Rome With Love" and 2006's "Scoop." But Allen has often said that his movie-starring days were through once he couldn't play a plausible romantic lead opposite an attractive actress. "He's a wonderful actor," says Turturro. "You don't really know that until you're opposite of him. He's really good physically, and he knows how to keep the rhythm." Turturro is best known as one of the finest character actors in movies, but he's sprinkled in a handful of memorable directing efforts over the years, including the 2010 documentary on the music of Naples, "Passione," and 2005's comic working-class musical "Romance and Cigarettes." After talking over the movie with Allen, the two agreed that Turturro would write it and that Allen would give his feedback. "He's merciless in his feedback, but it's very helpful," Turturro says, adding that some of the script's broader moments were stripped out. "He wanted it to be a smart film." Allen urged Turturro to read some Isaac Bashevis Singer stories, and in the middle of the process, he also asked Turturro to direct three one-act plays on Broadway with him, Ethan Coen and Elaine May. Still, directing a filmmaker like Allen was intimidating for Turturro. "It's a big thing to direct someone like him, he says. "I was a little bit nervous about it. But he was if not the easiest, one of the two easiest people to work with on the whole movie." "Woody's been able to hold the screen for a long time," Turturro adds. "And he still can." ___ Follow AP Entertainment Writer Jake Coyle on Twitter at: http://twitter.com/jake_coyle

Sorry, James Franco: Your days as a 14-year-old Palo Alto miscreant are coming back to haunt you. But at least we know you were sorry about it. Michael Phillips Moskowitz, the CEO of the men's shopping site Bureau of Trade, says that during a recent move at his parents' Palo Alto home, he unearthed a binder containing an apology letter from a young Franco, expressing his most heartfelt regret for egging the Moskowitz family's house: Story continues after photo... james franco “I hope we can just forget all this and put it behind us,” Franco, who went by Ted at the time, allegedly wrote to the Moskowitz family. "I have learned my lesson." Moskowitz shared the letter in a recent Bureau of Trade newsletter. "Well, James, the egg doesn’t come out easily. And now, in the smallest possible way, it’s on your face too," the newsletter, aptly titled "James Franco Egged My House," reads. “[I was] mesmerized that I had plucked from obscurity this odd, potentially electric little object,” Moskowitz told Fast Company of the 1992 letter. Franco stars in the upcoming movie "Palo Alto," which is based on his collection of short stories exploring teenage life in his hometown. Most recently, he was the subject of friendly ridicule on Comedy Central's Roast of James Franco. Check out the letter on Bureau of Trade, and read the text below:
Dear Dr. Moskowitz, First of all I will apologize once again for destroying your personal property. I did it out of carelessness not thinking that feelings might be hurt. And valuable time and money wasted. It will never enter my mind to do something like this ever again. Thank you for being so gracious about this whole matter, and not having the police involved. It was very considerate of you, to do this for us after we were discourteous to you. I am truly sorry. I hope we can just forget all this and put it behind us. I have learned my lesson. Thank you, Ted Franco

What would Zack Morris do in 2013? You're about to find out. Mark-Paul Gosselaar sat down with Paul F. Tompkins to revisit his "Saved By the Bell" character with a modern spin. Even though it's been nearly 20 years since he last played Zack Morris, Gosselaar seemed pretty in-tune with how the characters would react to our modern times. Check out the video above, and read some of his best answers below: What does Zack do when he and Slater are "catfished" by Screech over Facebook? "Zack knew it was Screech catfishing because Zack had Screech do it, so Zack already knew." What does Zack do after making fun of Crossfit, but then is ultimately shamed by the Kelly and Jessie at it? "The girls would help him, so now he's got the girls around him ..." Michael Jackson Lawsuit: Judge Dismisses AEG Execs

LOS ANGELES — A judge on Monday dismissed two executives from a negligence lawsuit filed by Michael Jackson's mother and allowed the case to proceed against AEG Live LLC, the promoter of his planned comeback concerts. Superior Court Judge Yvette Palazuelos said lawyers for Katherine Jackson hadn't shown enough evidence that Randy Phillips, CEO of AEG Live LLC, and promoter Paul Gongaware were responsible for the death of the pop star. The judge, however, did rule that jurors should decide whether AEG Live hired Conrad Murray, the former cardiologist convicted of giving Michael Jackson a lethal overdose of anesthetic in June 2009. AEG Live denies any wrongdoing. The ruling will simplify the case for jurors, who could begin deliberations before the end of the month. During the trial, Katherine Jackson's lawyers attacked the actions of Gongaware and Phillips in the months before the death. They claimed the executives missed warning signs about the superstar's health and created a conflict of interest for his physician. Phillips and Gongaware denied they did anything wrong when they testified early in the case. Katherine Jackson sued AEG Live in 2010, claiming the company hired Murray. AEG Live lawyers argued the Jackson family matriarch had failed to prove that the company hired Murray or that its executives could have foreseen that the doctor was giving the entertainer treatments that would lead to his death. The company is expected to conclude its defense next week. Lawyers for Jackson's mother say they plan to call several rebuttal witnesses. Due to an illness in a juror's family, Palazuelos said there would be no testimony in the case this week. Opening statements in the case were April 29 and jurors have heard from more than 50 witnesses in 20 weeks. Key witnesses have included Jackson's mother, his oldest son, his ex-wife Debbie Rowe, and several top AEG Live executives. The trial has featured potentially damaging testimony to both sides, with Katherine Jackson's lawyers displaying emails sent by AEG executives describing Jackson in unflattering terms. The company's lawyers have shown the jury testimony from several of Jackson's doctors, who described close relationships with the singer and their occasional misgivings about whether he was shopping for doctors or had grown dependent on prescription medications. "I really think it would be inappropriate here for this to go to a jury," AEG Live defense attorney Marvin S. Putnam argued Monday. Deborah Chang, an attorney for Katherine Jackson, countered that evidence in the case supported the family's position that AEG is responsible for Michael Jackson's death. They claim AEG Live created a conflict of interest in Murray's care of Jackson by agreeing to pay him $150,000 a month to work as a tour physician. "They created the conflict and I think all of that is well within the record," she said. ___ Anthony McCartney can be reached at http://twitter.com/mccartneyAP
