You Might Just Get Your Wish, 'Lost' Fans

It's been nearly nine years since we were first introduced to the survivors of Oceanic flight 815, and J. J. Abrams and TV masterminds alike have been trying to recreate the phenomenon that was "Lost" ever since.

Michael Emerson, who played Ben Linus on the hit ABC series, has been a part of that effort. The actor currently stars on the Abrams-produced "Person of Interest" on CBS, and while promoting the show at Comic-Con in San Diego, he told Zap2It's Terri Schwartz that fans might see the "Lost" cast reunite at the convention next year in honor of the show's 10-year anniversary.

"I've heard some murmurings of some kind of reunion. Whether it will take place at Comic-Con or not I'm not sure," Emerson told the site. "No matter what happens, if anything happens, it will be really hard logistically to put it together."

In another corner of Comic-Con, Emerson's former "Lost" co-star Henry Ian Cusick was also looking back on the fan favorite. Cusick, who played Desmond Hume on the series and is heading to The CW for "The Hundred" this fall, was on TV Guide's Fan Favorites panel and said, "I loved doing the show and I missed it. We could have squeezed out another season."

At the Warner Bros. TV party at Comic-Con, Zap2it spotted Emerson and Cusick hanging out by the bar together. "I hadn't seen him since the show wrapped so it was great to see him," Emerson told Zap2It.

Whether or not an official "Lost" reunion comes to fruition remains to be seen, but many of the show's stars have reunited on other shows: Cusick and Jorge Garcia (Hurley Reyes) will soon join Daniel Dae Kim (Jin-Soo Kwon) on CBS' "Hawaii Five-0," like Terry O'Quinn (John Locke) already has.

Plus, Mark Pelligrino (Jacob) joined Emerson on "Person of Interest," as have Alan Dale (Charles Widmore) and Ken Leung (Miles Straume).

ABC's "Once Upon A Time," created by "Lost" writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, has had "Lost" alumni Garcia play the giant, Dale play King George, and Emilie de Ravin (Claire Littleton) play Lacey/Belle. Soon, Naveen Andrews (Sayid Jarrah) will play Jafar on the show's spinoff "Once Upon A Time In Wonderland."

Done With 'Duck Dynasty'?!

He may be the leader of the "Duck Dynasty" pack, but Phil Robertson is hinting that he doesn't have much time left on the A&E reality series.

In an interview with Parade magazine, the reality star admitted that he and "Duck Dynasty" aren't in it for the long haul.

When asked how much longer he would be involved with the show, Robertson, "Not long," noting that he thought the show itself would be fine. "I think it'll go on without me."

"Duck Dynasty," which stars the camo-wearing, bearded duck-hunting Robertson family, certainly hasn't struggled in the ratings recently. The Season 3 finale brought in 9.6 million viewers -- and 5.5 million in the coveted 18-49 demo -- making it the most-watched telecast in A&E history among all key demos.

Although "Duck Dynasty" could be losing its patriarch in the not-so-distant future, it's also gaining a Robertson in Season 4. Alan, a 47-year-old pastor, is leaving his station in Louisiana to join his family on their adventure.

“What I do for our church -- you see, it’s a pretty good-sized church -- impacts a lot of people, but because of my association with the show, I’ll get to minister to a lot more people,” Alan explained to the New York Post, adding that he's remained anonymous throughout the series because he doesn't have one of iconic Robertson beards. “All this time I’ve been flying under the radar; I can go to Starbucks and get Mama coffee.”

A&E did not immediately reply to The Huffington Post's request for comment regarding Robertson's future with "Duck Dynasty."

"Duck Dynasty" Season 4 premiere will air on Wed., August 14 at 10 p.m. ET on A&E.

Kelly Clarkson's wedding date is still three months away, but the pop star has already put on a stunning white gown.

On Thursday, the pop singer tweeted a photo from her engagement shoot wearing a dress fit for a bride with layers and layers of tulle. Check out the gorgeous bride-to-be in the photo below:

No word as to whether this is the actual gown Clarkson will don when she ties the knot with talent manager Brandon Blackstock in October 2013, although we doubt it. In February, the "American Idol" winner described her dress to People, telling the magazine: "[It] is my personality in a dress. It's sweetly damaged. A little rock and roll. A little tattered. Nothing like a princess thing!"

Get ready to meet the "Witches of East End."

The newest Lifetime drama, inspired by Melissa de la Cruz's New York Times best-selling novel of the same name, will premiere on Sunday, October 6 at 10 p.m. ET, just in time for Halloween.

"Witches of East End," which stars Julia Ormond, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Mädchen Amick and Rachel Boston, follows the Beauchamps, a family of witches who live in East Haven, a sleepy, secluded seaside town.

Ormond plays free-spirited Joanna, mother to wild-child bartender Freya (Dewan-Tatum) and shy librarian Ingrid (boston). Freya's engaged to the man of her dreams, Dash Gardiner (Eric Winter), but she's also drawn to his brother Killian (Daniel DiTomasso) -- sound familiar, "Vampire Diaries" fans? -- and she starts to notice some bizarre things happening around her. Though neither Freya nor her sister knows about their bewitching birthright, their aunt, Wendy (Amick) arrives with a warning that forces Joanna to reveal the truth.

The 10-episode Lifetime series, which new mom Dewan-Tatum noted at the Television Critics Association Summer 2013 press tour feels a lot like the 1998 movie "Practical Magic," also features "Grey's Anatomy" alum Jason George as Ingrid's love interest Adam, and "Sideways" star Virginia Madsen as the Beauchamps future in-law, Dash's mom Penelope Gardiner.

"Witches of East End" will premiere on Sunday, October 6 at 10 p.m. ET.

Hillary Clinton Gets An NBC Show

Six new programs are headed to NBC, and each sounds more exciting than the last.

At the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Saturday, the network announced that it would air a four hour miniseries based on the life of Hillary Clinton (starring Diane Lane) and will be reviving the classic horror film "Rosemary's Baby" in coming months as part of a major move into miniseries and other event-based programming.

In addition to the previously announced news that that a sequel to Mark Burnett's "The Bible"
is headed to the network, NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt also said that the network has committed to n event series based on Stephen King's "Tommyknockers," a limited series from Mark Burnett tentatively called "Plymouth," about the landing of the pilgrims at Plymouth Rock, an adaptation of the life of Cleopatra and a live broadcast of a new version of "The Sound of Music," set to air in December.

"We need to be in the event business," Greenblatt said.

Part of that strategy, he explained, involves reality shows like "The Voice" and "America's Got Talent," sports, the Olympics, awards shows and a new fall game show called "Million Second Quiz."

But the executives' vision also involves scripted shows: Michael J. Fox coming back to the network with a self-titled comedy, "The Michael J. Fox show," is also "an event for us," Greenblatt said.

Lady Gaga is working hard to drum up excitement for her new material after months out of the spotlight. The singer's latest move finds her unveiling the artwork for her new single, which will serve as the first release from the upcoming album "ARTPOP."

Gaga tweeted the image, which features her sitting nude on a very technological chair:

The singer will release the song Aug. 19, followed by a live debut on Aug. 25 during an MTV Video Music Awards performance. In the meantime, much speculation is being tossed about in regard to what Gaga's comeback will have in store. Tara Savelo, the "Born This Way" star's makeup artist, recently took to her Little Monsters site to post a photo entitled "Applause," sparking questions as to whether that will be the title of the song.

NBC has canceled "Fashion Star."

The fashion reality competition series, which aired on NBC for two seasons, was initially executive produced by Elle McPherson before the reigns were handed over to Louise Roe, who served as a host with Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie or John Varvatos as mentors for competitors hoping to make it in the fashion world.

When asked by The Hollywood Reporter if the series would be returning at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Saturday, NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Gleenbatt simply said, "No."

In addition to "Fashion Star's" cancellation, NBC announced that six new programs would be headed to the networks including a Hillary Clinton miniseries, a remake of "Rosemary's Baby" and more.

Grammy Award-Winning Musician Dead At 74

If musicians were measured not by the number of records they sold but by the number of peers they influenced, JJ Cale would have been a towering figure in 1970s rock `n' roll.

His best songs like "After Midnight," "Cocaine" and "Call Me the Breeze" were towering hits – for other artists. Eric Clapton took "After Midnight" and "Cocaine" and turned them into the kind of hard-party anthems that defined rock for a long period of time. And Lynyrd Skynyrd took the easy-shuffling "Breeze" and supercharged it with a three-guitar attack that made it a hit.

Cale, the singer-songwriter and producer known as the main architect of the Tulsa Sound, passed away Friday night at Scripps Hospital in La Jolla, Calif. His manager, Mike Kappus, said Cale died of a heart attack. He was 74.

While his best known songs remain in heavy rotation on the radio nearly 40 years later, most folks wouldn't be able to name Cale as their author. That was a role he had no problem with.

"No, it doesn't bother me," Cale said with a laugh in an interview posted on his website. "What's really nice is when you get a check in the mail."

And the checks rolled in for decades. The list of artists who covered his music or cite him as a direct influence reads like a who's who of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – Clapton, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Mark Knopfler, The Allman Brothers, Carlos Santana, Captain Beefheart and Bryan Ferry among many others.

Young said in Jimmy McDonough's biography "Shakey" that Cale and Jimi Hendrix were the best guitar players he had ever heard. And in his recent memoir "Waging Heavy Peace," Young said Cale's "Crazy Mama" – his biggest hit, rising to No. 22 on the Billboard singles chart – was one of the five songs that most influenced him as a songwriter: "The song is true, simple, and direct, and the delivery is very natural. JJ's guitar playing is a huge influence on me. His touch is unspeakable."

It was Clapton who forged the closest relationship with Cale. They were in sync musically and personally. Clapton also recorded Cale songs "Travelin' Light" and "I'll Make Love To You Anytime" and included the Cale composition "Angel" on his most recent album, "Old Sock." Other songs like "Layla" didn't involve Cale, but clearly owe him a debt. The two also collaborated together on "The Road to Escondido," which won the Grammy Award for best contemporary blues album in 2008.

Clapton once told Vanity Fair that Cale was the living person he most admired, and Cale weighed the impact Clapton had on his life in a 2006 interview with The Associated Press: "I'd probably be selling shoes today if it wasn't for Eric."

That quote was typical of the always humble Cale. But while Clapton was already a star when he began mining Cale's catalog, there's no doubt the music they shared cemented his "Clapton is God" status and defined the second half of his career.

"As hard as I've tried I've never really succeeded in getting a record to sound like him and that's what I want," Clapton said in a "Fast Focus" video interview to promote "Escondido." "Before I go under the ground, I want to make a JJ Cale album with him at the helm."

Clapton described Cale's music as "a strange hybrid. It's not really blues, it's not really folk or country or rock `n' roll. It's somewhere in the middle."

Cale arrived at that intersection by birth. Born John Weldon Cale in Oklahoma City, he was raised in Tulsa. Buffeted by country and western on one side and the blues on the other, Oklahoma offered a melting pot of styles. Cale leaned on those styles as he spent his formative years in Los Angeles and Nashville, but he also used drum machines and often acted as his own producer, engineer and session player. He'd bury his own whispery vocals in the mix, causing the listener to lean in and focus.

"I think it goes back to me being a recording mixer and engineer," Cale said in a 2009 biography on his website. "Because of all the technology now you can make music yourself and a lot of people are doing that now. I started out doing that a long time ago and I found when I did that I came up with a unique sound."

NBC's Not Done With Leno Yet

Jay Leno may be leaving "The Tonight Show" in February 2014, but NBC isn't done with him yet.

At the Television Critics Association Summer 2013 press tour, the chairman of NBC Entertainment Bob Greenblatt said, "We'd love him to stay on NBC in some capacity. Nothing would make us happier than to have him, a la Bob Hope, still be a presence on the network." Greenblatt did note, however, that there's nothing specific is in the works. "He has done an incredible job for more than two decades," the NBC exec added of Leno. "I take my hat off to him."

New dad Jimmy Fallon will take over Leno's post on February 24, 2014, leaving "Late Night" behind for the 11:35 timeslot on NBC. The point of transitioning the late-night talk show posts before the upcoming Olympics was to give Fallon the best chance of success. "By the time he gets the 'Tonight Show,' he will have done his own show for a thousand or more episodes. He's seasoned, he's a Grammy winner, he's an Emmy winner. It just seemed like the right time to do it," Greenblatt noted.

Current "Saturday Night Live" head writer Seth Meyers will then take over Fallon's 12:35 timeslot, making him one of many stars of the NBC sketch comedy show to leave his/her spot open. Bill Hader announced he was leaving shortly before the end of the show's most recent 38th season and since, Fred Armisen and Jason Sudeikis have both confirmed they're leaving "SNL" as well.

The show also lost its leading lady Kristen Wiig at the end of its 37th season, along with power player Andy Samberg. But Greenblatt isn't worried about "SNL," noting executive producer Lorne Michaels is really good at "re-seasoning" the show. "Would we have preferred to keep Jason and Bill and Fred and Kristen for more time? Absolutely. Seth Meyers is going to leave to his own new show for us. But some of these people have been on the show [a long time]. In Seth's case, 12 years. Bill Hader's been there I think 12 or more years. They have families, they have lives. Bill wanted to move his family to the West Coast. Movies come a-calling," Greenblatt explained. "You hold on to them as long as you can, but there's nobody better at combing the country to find the next generation of these actors than Lorne. You just go through the list [of people he's found]: He was the one who said Conan O'Brien should have his own show; he's the one who said Jimmy Fallon should have his own show; Tina Fey -- the list goes on and on. We're confident he's going to do that again for us. But it is what it is. I think he's hunkered down and he's doing the job, looking for the next generation."

Director Reveals His 'Essential Films List'

Spike Lee has long been distributing an "Essential Films List" to every master's student who graduates from the film program at New York University, where he teaches. Now the director has shared the list with the rest of us, leaving the common folk to debate his selections.

Lee posted the list to the Kickstarter page for his latest project, along with an accompaying video (seen above). Certain standard best-of entries are intact ("The Godfather," "8 1/2," "Vertigo"). The most recent entries on the list -- Mel Gibson's 2006 film "Apocalypto" and Neill Blomkamp's 2009 Best Picture nominee "District 9" -- are arguably the most surprising. What's not surprising is the dearth of women included. But, of course, there are also some notable omissions. On first glance, here's what we notice is missing:

"2001: A Space Odyssey" -- Stanley Kubrick
"American Beauty" -- Sam Mendes
"Annie Hall" -- Woody Allen
"Apocalypse Now" -- Francis Ford Coppola
"Citizen Kane" -- Orson Welles
"Fargo" -- Ethan & Joel Coen
"Gone With the Wind" -- Victor Fleming
"Goodfellas" -- Martin Scorsese
"The Graduate" -- Mike Nichols
"The Grapes of Wrath" -- John Ford
"How Green Was My Valley" -- John Ford
"The Hurt Locker" -- Kathryn Bigelow
"Pulp Fiction" -- Quentin Tarantino
"Sunset Blvd." -- Billy Wilder
"Taxi Driver" -- Martin Scorsese

Take a look at the full list, and sound off in the comments below on what you're surprised to see.

Just How Filthy Was The 'Orange Is The New Black' Set?

Before Orange Is the New Black, Taylor Schilling had starred in The Lucky One opposite Zac Efron, the little seen Atlas Shrugged, and the short-lived NBC nurse drama Mercy. At last! Success! Critics are loving Jenji Kohan's new Netflix prison drama, adapted from Piper Kerman's memoir of the same name, in which Schilling plays Piper, a Waspy organic-soap-maker who is busted for smuggling drug money several years after the fact. The actress talked about the show's filthy sets (which are actually filthy!); working with Jodie Foster (who directed the season's third episode, "Lesbian Request Denied"); and how Crazy Eyes's eyes are in real life. We also asked her about Mendez (a.k.a. Pornstache), who is grotesque, but apparently not far off from the guards who mistreated the real-life Piper.

WOW! Forget the tight dresses and the sideboob -- this might be Jenni "JWoww" Farley's best look yet!

The "Jersey Shore" alumna took her dogs to the groomer in Toms River, New Jersey, yesterday and looked stunning in a loose, cropped T-shirt that showcased her perfect midriff, a flowy green maxi skirt, flip flops and a beanie.

Though that last addition is a bit baffling in this heat, we can't help but think JWoww's decided to follow in the footsteps of her best friend, Snooki, whose style evolution we all applaud.

Will The New 'Doctor' Be A Woman?

With Matt Smith getting ready to say his final goodbyes to "Doctor Who" and a new Doctor yet to be cast, fans have been buzzing about who the new doctor could be ... and if a woman could nab the role this time around.

But according to Smith, a female Doctor probably isn't on the agenda just yet.

"I don’t think that would be a sensible thing to do, no," Smith told IMDb when asked if the casting could be gender-blind. "I think you’d have to make a decision on the gender before you approached it."

"I didn’t say that [women will eventually be cast in the role], no," Smith continued when probed further. "Within the narrative of ‘Doctor Who’, it is possible that he could be female? Yeah. But as to whether The Doctor will be female in the future, I’m not going to comment on that."

What Smith will comment on, however, is just how hard it's been for him to let go of the role.

“I have pondered [the decision to leave] on several occasions and thought I’ve made a huge mistake,” Smith said this week at the Television Critics Association Summer 2013 press tour, according to the LA Times.“What am I doing? Don’t leave!”

The 50th anniversary special of "Doctor Who" airs Sat., Nov. 23 on BBC America and the show has also been renewed for an eighth season, which is likely to air in 2014.
