Karmin Gets Ready To Crash 'SNL's' Party

$

Karmin's Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan became overnight Internet sensations when they released Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj covers on YouTube last January, and they're only getting bigger.

The pop duo, who debuted their original song "Crash Your Party" in October, is back for more. Their single "Broken Hearted" has hit the web, and it certainly has a lot of pep despite its somber title.

"Broken Hearted" will be available on iTunes on February 7, just in time for Zooey Deschanel's "Saturday Night Live" hosting gig on Feb. 11, where Karmin will perform.

As long as they don't pull a stunt like Lana Del Rey and give a performance worthy of the "worst in 'SNL' history" title, their appearance on the show will likely get fans even more excited for Karmin's original album, out in April.

"The original album is not too far-fetched from the YouTube stuff, so if you love the YouTube stuff you're going to love this even more," Heidemann told MTV. "It has those pop melodies, and tons of rap in the verses and the bridge... lots of catchy things. Things you won't be able to get out of your head."

Super Bowl Show: 'No Nipples' But Definitely In 'Vogue'

$

Much ado has been made about Madonna performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show this Sunday -- and about the kind of theatrics we may expect from the Material Girl.

At the least, we know that there will be no tributes to Janet Jackson. "For sure no nipples," Madonna told Jay Leno Monday night, to whom she also admitted that it was "the most nerve-racking thing I've ever done."

But if photographs snapped over the weekend of Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis are any indication, the show looks like it will definitely be in "Vogue" -- the words are clearly lit up from the floor panels.

An early leak in December indicated that the 53-year-old star and "W.E." director would be performing a best-of set list that would include five songs, among them "Ray of Life," "Music," and, of course, "Vogue." It is also reported that LFMAO and Nicki Minaj will be joining Madonna at the show.

Jessica Chastain On Meeting Meryl Streep: 'I Was So Shocked'

At least Meryl Streep didn't make Jessica Chastain cry? During the cover shoot for the February issue of Vanity Fair, the Oscar-nominated Chastain recalled a rather nerve-wracking run-in with Streep, while "The Help" star was doing a play in New York.

"I look over and said, 'Is that Meryl Streep?' [My friends] all look over and were like, 'Yes.' And as I said it she turned around and started walking towards me, and that's when everything got kind of foggy," admitted Chastain. "She walked toward me and ... grabbed my hand and was saying beautiful things about the play and my performance. And all I did, because I was so shocked, was I held her hands and went, 'Thank you, thank you. It means so much to me that you came,' and I walked away [laughs]."

Getting nervous around Meryl Streep isn't exactly surprising -- especially for someone like Chastain. During the Palm Springs International Film Festival, Chastain was so moved by meeting Gary Oldman that she burst into tears.

"I just started crying," she recalled. "So Nicole [her publicist] pulled me away. She was, like, 'Let's let you calm down for a second.'"

'Biggest Loser' Host And Her Dog Battle Pet Obesity

By Zorianna Kit
LOS ANGELES, Jan 30 (Reuters) - Alison Sweeney, host of the NBC network's weight loss TV series "The Biggest Loser," has worked with the show's contestants since 2007, supporting them as they drop pounds and learn to lead a healthier way of life.
Now, Sweeney is taking on more weight issues by teaming up with dog food company Hill's Science Diet for the second annual Million Pound Pledge to raise awareness about obesity in pets.
According to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, 54 percent of America's pet population is overweight. Sweeney, who also stars on the daily soap opera "Days of Our Lives," became aware of pet obesity when she took her Boston Terrier, Winky, to the vet and was told her pooch could stand to lose a few pounds. After adjusting Winky's diet and making a few changes, the canine is back in shape.
With the Million Pound Pledge, Sweeney is urging pet owners to come together on petfit.com and collectively help their animals drop a combined one million pounds by March 30. One lucky winner will win a free trip to "The Biggest Loser" finale in May. Sweeney spoke to Reuters about the plan and pet obesity.
Q: When did you realize Winky was getting fat?
A: "She was a little thick, but I thought it was kind of cute. The vet explained she was a good two pounds overweight and when your dog is only 19 lbs, that's a lot. People don't realize what a significant difference a pound or two can make on a small animal."
Q: What's the most common mistake people make when it comes to feeding their pets?
A: "The number one mistake is giving pets table scraps. I made the mistake thinking I was showing my dog love by giving her food and treats. You see a tiny 4 oz. piece of cheese, but for a Boston Terrier like mine, that's like one and a half hamburgers. That's unhealthy."
Q: How is human weight loss different that pet weight loss?
A: "Our pets rely on us entirely for their nutrition. So if you're making your own judgements, that could lead to a mistake. At the same time, we have more control over our pet's diet than we do with our children or with ourselves, so your vet can tell you what is appropriate for your dog and you can assign them that. In my experience, it took Winky a couple of days to get used to eating less, but I saw the results in her health and energy right away."
Q: How can we prevent pet obesity in the first place?
A: "Like human weight loss, there's no end date where you say, 'I've taken care of that problem, I never have to worry about it again.' Humans should always exercise and watch what they eat. So with your pet, make sure they get enough exercise, make sure they're getting fed at the same time every day and getting the nutrition they need. And make sure they get a lot of love and attention you both need. That's why you have them!"
Q: Ever think of incorporating pet weight loss in to 'Biggest Loser?'
A: "I would love to. I think it'd be a great addition to the show if we somehow found a way to make it part of the challenge. It would be fun. They deserve their own show too."
Q: Speaking of "Loser," the new season premiered earlier this month and was down about 30 percent in viewers compared to the previous year. Ratings have been falling since trainer Jillian Michaels left the show. Is it a cause for concern?
A: "For our show, and in reality TV in general, you always kind of look to make a change, to shake things up. If it becomes too predictable, it's not interesting. You want to keep everybody on their toes a little bit. I feel like we are part of the solution of the obesity epidemic in this country and so I'm proud to be a part of it and I hope NBC feels the same way for a long time. Ratings have been down across the board for TV and certainly in daytime we've experienced that more than most."
Q: Luckily, your daytime show is still on the air while other soaps such as "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" have recently come to an end. Do their cancellations affect you?
A: "Absolutely, because it affects the whole (soap) genre, the way people feel about daytime television and how confident their feel in their show. That's hard on all of us. I've met so many fans of daytime television who've watched the shows with their moms and grandmas and feel like they've known the characters their whole lives. It's sad for them to have to say goodbye to their favorite soaps and characters. We don't want that to happen to the 'Days' fans." (Editing By Bob Tourtellotte)

Ringo Starr Talks Peace & Love With Russell Brand

Ringo Starr flashed the peace sign over and over Monday at the Troubadour in West Hollywood and even joked with his interviewer, Russell Brand, about what would happen if Brand didn't display the sign as well. Peace and love is, still, what this Beatle is all about.

Starr was speaking to Brand and fans at a live "Town Hall" on SiriusXM as his new album, "Ringo 2012," is released this week.

At the Town Hall, Starr told a fan, "In the dream I have, one minute, one day, one year, the whole world will go, 'Peace and love' at the same time and we'll be OK," the Examiner reports.

He also said that he's been asked to write an autobiography but, "They really only want those eight years. And I say, ‘But there are 10 volumes before we get to that, and 20 afterwards,'" as Rolling Stone reports.

The drummer explained that "Ringo 2012" allowed him to revisit the years of his past outside of the well-documented Beatles era. In the USA Today video below, he explains that he wanted to write the album's "Liverpool" track because it's where he grew up and spent 23 years of his life.

The Guardian gave "Ringo 2012" a review of two stars out of five, saying the album sounds "a bit like the Beatles' later output, albeit with their genius watered down to homeopathic levels" and missteps with "a clumsy version of Buddy Holly's 'Think it Over' that never recovers from a spectacularly ill-conceived intro." The Los Angeles Times was a bit more generous, giving two and half stars out of four and saying the album "yield[s] some modestly charming results."

Listen to Ringo's new Latin-infused track "Samba," which he wrote with Beach Boys' contributor Van Dyke Park, and to samples of the rest of "Ringo 2012" tracks here. What's your review?

WATCH: Why Is This Pooch In The Back Of A Squad Car?

After a human head was found near the Hollywood Sign, our hearts, rightfully so, went out to the victim, his loved ones and the hikers who made the gruesome discovery. But have any of us insensitive humans thought about the poor pup who first came upon the severed head?

On "Conan O'Brien" Monday, "Bridesmaids" actress Maya Rudolph revealed that she is friends with the dog's owner, and that both the owner and the dog needed comforting after the traumatic event. You may think that a dog wouldn't understand what he's dug up -- or, at the very least, wouldn't care what he's dug up -- but not so.

The pooch involved was a golden retriever named Ollie. Rudolph recounted the doggie nightmare: "I think he's a digger, and so he was digging, and he came out like all proud with this bag and something fell out. And it was the head, guys."

Rudolph and Conan went on to say that officials detained Ollie for four hours and even put him in the back of the squad car. While Ollie was sitting in the backseat like a criminal, a photo, displayed in the video above, was snapped of him. As Rudolph described the eerily human expression in the pic, he "looks like he's been through hell."

The actress was also frustrated that Ollie was nominated for, and not instantly awarded, an American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) award. "He wasn't given one yet. They nominated him," she said in disbelief. "Meaning, he's gotta wait to see if somebody else came up with something better than finding a head!"

Brandi Glanville: Eddie Cibrian Will Cheat On LeAnn Rimes

Once a cheater, always a cheater? That's what Brandi Glanville is saying about ex-husband Eddie Cibrian, who is now happily married to country crooner LeAnn Rimes.

"He will be with her until he cheats again," Glanville tells me. "They won't be together forever. I'm totally over Eddie. I've moved onto Ken. Ken is a better looking Eddie," she teased about fellow Real Housewife Lisa Vanderpump's husband, Ken Todd.

But in actuality, Glanville said it hasn't been easy having her husband leave her for another woman, especially when children are involved.

"We share custody, it's difficult," she said. "I think it was more difficult in the beginning to all of a sudden not be with your kids half the time. But now the kids are at my house and say, 'can we go to dads?' and when they are at their dad's house they say, 'can we go to moms?'"

And although it is awkward when both ladies are forced to interact for the sake of the ex-couple's children, Glanville said her kids will always be more important than what she thinks about Rimes.

"It was my son's last soccer game and [Rimes] was there," she said. "Everyone is making a big deal of it because of the picture [which shows the ladies ignoring one another], but this has gone on for two-and-a-half years. So, for me, I really don't put too much energy into it because it will eat you alive."

Madonna's Ex Dating Real Housewife?

Carlos Leon, the father of Madonna's daughter, Lourdes, was seen this weekend strolling through the East Village with ex-"Real Housewives of New York" star Kelly Bensimon. But Kelly's friends say you shouldn't be surprised if you see the pair spending even more time together.

"They started out working on a project together but have since gotten very close," a friend of Kelly's tells me. "Kelly always says that if you are not married or engaged, you are single. So, technically she is still single, but we all know that they are together."

This wouldn't be the first time one of Madonna's exes has been linked to a reality-TV housewife. Baseball star Alex Rodriguez was seen stepping out with Bravo's Bethenny Frankel after he split with Madonna in 2009.

"We met seven months ago," Kelly tells me. "I'm casting him for the show 'I Can Make You Hot.' Have you met him? He's an amazing dancer and athlete."

Kelly declined to comment more on her professional or personal relationship with Carlos.

"John Carter" isn't the only big-budget blockbuster getting the Super Bowl commercial treatment; Marvel will unveil a brand new trailer for "The Avengers" during the big game, and the studio released a 14-second teaser of the spot online to stir up fan interest. The initial reaction: pretty cool! In fact, here are 14 reasons to be excited.

1. The opening chord of the trailer sounds like the opening chord to "Lazy Sunday."
2. This takes place in "New York City" (actually shot in Cleveland).
3. The villains in "The Avengers" don't like Dr. Pepper.
4. Tony Stark loves him some Black Sabbath. (Is his favorite song "No More Tears"?)
5. Thor's hammer is like the Elder Wand.
6. The Chrysler Building is the new Empire State Building.
7. Dutch angles!
8. Scarlett Johansson's hair is angry.
9. Even Captain America needs a hand sometimes.
10. Thor looks like Brad Pitt circa "Legends of the Fall."

Royals Dating On Reality TV

What if "Coming to America" had been a reality show ... except instead of the handsome prince wining and dining you with McDowell's hamburgers, he only knew how to microwave his meat?

That must've been the pitch to TLC for "Undercover Princes" (premieres Tues., Jan. 31, 10 p.m. EST), which will soon be followed by "Undercover Princesses" (premieres Tues., Feb. 28, 10 p.m. EST). And by the looks of these "Princes," there's still plenty of comedy to mine from royals "slumming it" to find true love.

We've got an exclusive sneak peek at the network's first foray into royal reality dating. "Undercover Princes" follows three princes as they move to England into a Brighton townhouse together to try to search for love as "undercovers." They don't have their usual entourage of servants and assistants, and they're forced to do everyday tasks like getting jobs and grocery shopping. (The choice between crunchy or creamy peanut butter spawns a hilarious debate.)

Take a look and meet Prince Africa Zulu of Onkweni Royal House in South Africa (he's in the brown polo shirt), who is very traditional; Prince Remigius of Jaffna in Sri Lanka (in the black sweater), who's on a mission to find a suitable bride; and Crown Prince Manvendra of Rajpipla (wearing the Indian scarf and attire) from one of India's wealthiest royal families, who was the first Indian royal to come out as gay.

Kenny Powers Is Back In New 'Eastbound' Trailer

Kenny Powers is back! HBO has released the trailer for "Eastbound & Down" Season 3, and things are looking up for the over-the-hill antihero. He's back in the states and throwing heat for the semi-pro Myrtle Beach Mermen after last season's sojourn in Mexico.

Much to Stevie Janowski's chagrin, Kenny becomes fast friends with his catcher Shane, played by "Saturday Night Live" star Jason Sudeikis. Together, they set out to take over the party town. "Me and Shane-Dawg, two youngbloods, are runnin' this town, ownin' this team, and chasin' down our goddamn dreams," Kenny announces with glee.

Kenny also still seems to be with his buxom first-love April Buchanon, who told him she was pregnant with his child at the end of Season 2. In the trailer, they shotgun beers, race bumper cars and gaze at sunsets together.

But despite the new developments, it's still the same Kenny Powers. He rides the waves on a boogie board emblazoned with a Confederate flag and a marijuana leaf, gets into wrestling matches with his teammates in the bullpen, doles out hilariously offensive catch-phrases and rides his jet-ski like a champion.

Season 3 of "Eastbound & Down" premieres Sunday, Feb. 19 at 10 p.m. EST on HBO.

Hoboken Tells Snooki And JWoww To Stay Out

The mayor of Hoboken does not want Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jennifer "JWoww" Farley's "Jersey Shore" spinoff. In a new letter to Jim Bianco and 495 Productions, Mayor Dawn Zimmer has officially denied the request to let the spinoff take place in Hoboken.

In the letter, Zimmer says the city has denied the request for a film permit.

"Based on protecting public safety and quality of life concerns for Hoboken residents, the city has denied a film permit for a spin-off of the 'Jersey Shore' to be filmed in public locations."

In mid-January, MTV and 495 Production began scouting locations for Snooki and JWoww's spinoff. The show featuring JWoww and Snooki was originally announced in April 2011, along with one following Pauly D and his DJ career.

"Always inseparable and ready to get the party started at the shore, viewers will get to see how they deal with life and love when the vacation is over in this 12-episode series," a statement from MTV described JWoww and Snooki's spinoff. "The locale may be different, but the friendship is sure to remain the same."
