With a provocative personality, and a very eclectic fashion style, for years Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr, better known as Perez Hilton, has been one of the most notorious celebrity bloggers in the entertainment industry.

Today, the Cuban American has also become an entrepreneur, and most recently a father to Mario Armando Lavandeira III by surrogacy on February 16th.

Although he is starting a new (more serious) phase in his life, we secretly hope he never stops using those eccentric/fascinating/kind-of-weird outfits that have characterized him since the beginning of his career, and leave us waiting for more.

To celebrate Perez Hilton’s 35th birthday on March 23rd, and remember some of his most outstanding fashion styles take a look at the gallery above.

Dave Holmes: Last Week America Lost A Real, Live Hero

Scott Kennedy was a brilliant comic who had all the trappings of success: a Comedy Central special, late-night appearances, a busy road schedule. But just as his career began to heat up, so did our military involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq. So he put his stateside career on the back burner to entertain the troops through several USO tours. Then he organized his own touring show, Comics Ready to Entertain, because -- get this -- the USO wouldn't take him to dangerous-enough military bases. Over the course of more than 50 trips to Afghanistan and Iraq, in up to five shows a day, he gave our men and women overseas a bit of the love they sorely needed. "You have to give them a little bit of home," Scott said at the time. "They have to feel normal once in a while."

Through most of his career, Scott Kennedy was also an openly gay comedian. With his ever-present football jersey, tattered ball cap and spare tire, he didn't look the part, and he used that to his advantage; when he addressed his sexuality onstage, it was usually toward the end of his set, after a new audience thought they had him figured out. Scott defied expectations and broadened minds. He was an out gay comedian in a time when it was not at all easy to be an out gay comedian, and often in places where it was not at all easy to be an out gay comedian, for example in Iraq and Afghanistan, or in front of our troops at the height of "don't ask, don't tell," or, hell, in a comedy club.

Scott Kennedy was talented, generous and brave. And last Thursday, Scott Kennedy died in his sleep. He was not yet 50 years old.

Since then, I have checked the websites and news networks that fall all over themselves to remind you how patriotic and pro-military they are, because surely one of them would want you to know about this patriot who risked his own safety to raise our military's spirits. Nothing. (Though Breitbart does carry several gloating editorials about how much Satan in Mark Burnett's The Bible resembles Barack Obama, so by all means, read each one.)

I've checked the gay-news websites, as one of them would certainly want readers to know about a trailblazing out comic who did the crucial work of personally changing people's minds, one comedy club and remote military base at a time. Nothing. (Towleroad does link to the third video in the "Interview With an Underwear Model" series, wherein a man with abs tells us about the craziest thing he's ever done. It was bungee jumping off a crane, if you were wondering.)

This week a has-been folk singer claimed that God hates gay people, and we've rewarded her with more attention than she's gotten in the last 20 years put together. Scott Kennedy's career was a testament to the fact that we are all worthy of love, and that we're all expected to love each other, especially when it's difficult. Scott Kennedy did the right thing, quietly, in about a dozen difficult ways. So where's his attention?

It's so easy to point at the people who are doing things wrong and reach out to turn their volume down. It's also weak. It's more challenging to find the people who are doing things right and crank their volume up. Scott Kennedy's life gives us a perfect opportunity to start doing that very thing right now. Check out some of the videos and links below. Share them with your friends. Learn more about what Scott did, and about what you can do to keep his mission alive. And then go hug the living hell out of someone.

Who Knew She'd Become Such A Style Icon?

It's hard to quantify our love for Sarah Jessica Parker. We cut our teeth in New York City as "Sex and the City" became a part of the national zeitgeist, and to say that SJP was our style icon is an understatement.

But it wasn't just "Sex and the City" and the magical styling provided by legendary costume designer Patricia Field that honed Parker's fashion sensibilities. SJP had style chops long before HBO's hit show. To wit, she had no problem showing up to a Hollywood premiere wearing a Jean Paul Gaultier-inspired bra top-and-pants outfit. Her style certainly received a boost once she became Carrie Bradshaw. Parker, married to Matthew Broderick since 1997, went from pleated tartan skirts to sequined minidresses and Manolo Blahniks.

We credit the mother of three with pushing us to expand our style boundaries. By her example, we learned to clash our patterns, splurge on a gorgeous handbag every now and then and most importantly, to wear heels with everything.

In honor of the fashion icon's 48th birthday on Monday (Mar. 25), we take a look back at some of her most fabulous looks. We salute you, SJP.

Have you ever seen someone dance and been truly mesmerized by their skill? So mesmerized that you have had to stop and wonder, "How do they do that?"

If you've ever seen So You Think You Can Dance, or even better if you watch it on a regular basis, then you have more than likely have seen the extreme talent of Lauren Gottlieb.

The best way to articulate Lauren's skill after having seen her dance for the first time is to say that she did more than dance -- she would become one with whatever the song she was moving to.

Since making her mark in the third season of So You Think You Can Dance, Lauren has gone to assist some of the biggest choreographers in the business such as Tyce Diorio and Mia Michaels during seasons four, five, and six. She has also returned for the All-Star seasons of the hit series.

Real talent is always an important attribute to have. Why? It's because it's what will earn you the opportunity to show share your skills with the world.

What about heart?

The heart of a talented individual is not required, nonetheless, it's nice to know that those people that many look up to have an interest in giving.

"I really want to give back. I've been blessed with so much; I want to share the best parts of myself with the world. It's so important to be able to give," Lauren said.

Lauren has been blessed indeed. She earned the female leading role in the recently released Bollywood 3D film, Any Body Can Dance. The film is directed by the prolific Indian choreographer Remo D'Souza.

"Remo saw me and was a huge fan of mine. He decided that he wanted to make a dance film and knew that he wanted me in the lead, so here I am."

"It's an amazing feeling to be here, I just don't how to say how grateful I am for where I am and what I've achieved. It's an honor. I know that I'm here soaking up all of this culture for a reason. I am certainly going to make the most of it."

Lauren is moved to learn that she has been an inspiration to others who wish to follow their dream by doing what they love with all of their being and making a career out of it.

"Ever since I was a little girl, I knew that this was what I wanted to do. It was my dream."

"I decided that I was going to leave Phoenix, Arizona and come to Los Angeles. It happened really fast, I got on So You Think You Can Dance. I was in awe; I was with people who were just like me -- people who were following their dreams."

Reagan's Daughter Pens Lesbian Novel

She may have received a lukewarm reception from publishers, but Patti Davis has been undeterred about getting her new novel -- centered on a lesbian love story -- out into the world.

Davis, the 60-year-old daughter of former President Ronald Reagan, has self-published her new work, entitled Till Human Voices Wake Us, as an e-book. It is currently available online for $2.99.

On Amazon, the book description:

In the empty days after her son's death, left alone in her grief by her husband, Isabelle Berendon falls in love with the unlikeliest person in the world: her sister-in-law.

Though some of Davis' earlier works have been based on her life and that of her famous family, she told the New York Post that this new book is entirely a work of fiction.

"This is not me. None of it is autobiographical,” she said.

According to the Independent, Davis had a hard time convincing publishers to take on her new novel -- so much so that she eventually decided to self-publish.

“Maybe this non-autobiographical novel was too much of a departure for publishers to wrap their heads around," she said. "Most writers have books they have labored over for years and long to put out into the world. 'Till Human Voices Wake Us' is one of those books.”

Davis -- who for many years struggled with a drug addiction and in 1994 infamously posed naked for Playboy magazine -- was dubbed the "black sheep" of the Reagan family when her father was president.

In more recent years, Davis has opened up about being the rebellious child, expressing regret that she had been quite so defiant as a youth.

“Decades later I would look into my father’s eyes and try to reach past the murkiness of Alzheimer’s with my words, my apology, hoping that in his heart he heard me and understood," she wrote in a January 2012 post for Town & Country magazine, according to Politico.

LOS ANGELES -- Josh Duhamel doesn't mind the slime.

The "Transformers" star is hosting Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday and says the ceremony's traditional dumping of the green stuff on celebrities isn't as bad as it looks.

Duhamel described the slime as "warm goo" that's "almost soothing in a way" during a break from rehearsals earlier this week.

Duhamel will be joined on stage at the University of Southern California's Galen Center by such famous attendees as Sandra Bullock, Steve Carell and Chris Pine, with Pitbull, Ke$ha and Christina Aguilera scheduled to perform.

Nickelodeon said a record-breaking 326 million votes have already been cast for the show, which honors kids' favorites in film, music, sports and TV.

A lot has been said about the connection between popular culture and gun violence, and while film has been brought up in the conversation, hip-hop music has taken a particular place in the debate.

During an interview for CBS News' "Sunday Morning," rapper 50 Cent spoke out about the comparison between the music genre and the disturbing trend of violence throughout the country.

The hip-hop artist turned actor and entrepreneur refuted claims of a connection between rap music and gun violence, saying his music was more a reflection of his experience rather than a glorification of assault weapons.

"If you were doing that and you weren't actually experiencing it, I would say you were glorifying it," he told Tracy Smith. "If you're drawing from something from your actual experience, isn't it art imitating life?"

Watch a clip of 50 Cent's response in the video above and catch the full interview on "Sunday Morning" tomorrow at 9 a.m. EST on CBS.

Jared Leto Discusses Disturbing Fan Mail

Jared Leto gets a lot of letters, gifts and photos from fans, but there's one present that stuck out above all the rest.

In an interview with XFM, the 30 Seconds To Mars frontman, 41, revealed that a fan sent him their severed ear in the mail.

"The fans are an incredibly committed and passionate group of people. Going to a show is kind of like visiting Japan, you expect gifts on your arrival. You get all kinds of wonderful things," Leto explained before describing the weirdest thing he's ever received.

"Someone cut their ear off once and sent it to me, that was very strange. A whole ear. The Van Gogh move. The note just said, 'Are you listening?' I never knew who it was, who's missing their ear out there," he quipped, confessing what he did with the gross gift.

"I poked a hole in it and wore it as a necklace," Leto joked, letting admirers know, "Just don't put your entire body in a case and send it to us."

Leto, who is also an actor, has some devoted (and bizarre) fans, that's for sure.

Should Climate Deniers Be Forced To Watch This Documentary?

$

From TakePart's Jon Bowermaster:

Eco-activist Craig Rosebraugh is the first to admit he took “a sizable gamble” by titling his first film so provocatively—Greedy Lying Bastards.

The hard-hitting documentary is a sophisticated, four-years-in-the-making look at the deviousness of climate change deniers using archival footage and new interviews. It was intended to be “a bit more in your face” than most docs, Rosebraugh admits.

Now showing across the country in more than 30 cities, it appears that despite the provocative title, audiences are ready for climate change films at cineplexes. (See also James Balog’s Chasing Ice, which continues to screen across the country thanks to phenomenal footage of glaciers in retreat and great word of mouth.)

Both filmmaker and his eco-audience have been encouraged by mainstream reviews. “A single-minded attack … may just be the feel-good documentary of the year,” wrote the New York Times. “Sober—and sobering,” according to the Washington Post.

The documentary is the most detailed telling of climate deniers’ efforts yet, focused on the organizations and individuals who attempt to deflect from the truth about climate change by spending big money and telling outright lies. Who are the bad guys? ExxonMobil, the American Petroleum Institute, the Koch brothers, electric companies…and more. The film also raises the question time and again: Where are our political leaders on climate change?

Rosebraugh is not a stranger to the camera, though much of his experience has been on the other side of the lens as a spokesperson for environmental and human rights issues going back two decades. Over the years he’s also been grilled by inquisitors from the FBI and the ATF, primarily during his time as spokesman for the Earth Liberation Front in the days soon after the group admitted burning down a mountaintop ski resort in Vail, Colorado, in the name of preserving a lynx habitat.

A New York Times Magazine profile in 1998 said: “Rosebraugh stood out in Portland, if he stood out at all, as the guy who was always getting arrested at anti-vivisection events or locking himself to a door of the corporate headquarters of a hospital group to protest experiments being done on cats.”

Rosenbraugh's first film was aided by an experienced team, including editor and cowriter Patrick Gambuti, Jr. and archival producer Marianna Yarovskaya, who worked on the Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth. Activist and actress Daryl Hannah joined three years into the process as executive producer. TakePart found Rosebraugh at home in Los Angeles.

TakePart: As a first-time filmmaker, what inspired you to take on climate change deniers? Was there a trigger, a moment when you realized you had to make this film?

Craig Rosebraugh: There wasn’t one moment, but cumulative. I’d been watching the debate over climate change for a couple decades. As we got late into the 2000s, leading up to the convention in Copenhagen in 2009, I wondered about a project linking the truth that climate change was real and a parallel universe, especially in the United States, of people refusing to listen to the science. Why with the science so sound were politicians refusing to act?

One thing that amazed me was how much I learned during the four years we worked on the film. The very deceptive campaigns by energy companies have really done a great job at convincing people that climate change is not real.

The film was funded by two independent, private financiers, who wish to stay anonymous. It is their first project in the film industry but their motivation is concern about the issue.

Of all the greedy, lying bastards you discovered during the making of the film, who are the greediest, most prevaricating?

Christopher Monckton is the one that far and above makes a mockery of himself. Yet despite being debunked time and time again by the scientific community, any time anyone invites him to come and deliver his lies, he continues to show up.

In terms of money, it’s hard to beat the Koch brothers. Their influence is everywhere, with their base in oil, oil transportation, oil refining, large cattle ranches, textiles, fertilizers and on and on. Their power is undeniable.

A big question raised in the film is why the media continues to allow climate deniers equal time, when the science is clearly against them. “Doubt is way easier to sell” is a great line in the film.

Fox is far and away the extreme example. They’ll have a known holocaust denier debating a holocaust survivor. Or a tobacco industry representative still arguing that smoking isn’t linked to cancer.

The challenge is how do we get the media to stop presenting the issue as if it were a debate, when the debate is already over. I think it’s up to our lawmakers to make a hefty stand, especially the Republican Party. As long as they continue to publicly question the science of climate change, so will the media.

On our website, Expose the Bastards, we’re calling for a Congressional investigation into the deception and lies regarding climate since much like what Congressman Henry Waxman did with the tobacco industry. And it should include an investigation into the media’s role.

Big energy has a reputation for aggressively refuting films about climate change and other environmental issues. You’re up against the wealthiest, most powerful industry in the world. Has their been any industry kickback yet?

Not yet. My gut is that they’re waiting to see how well the film does. If they go after it, it’s only going to create more publicity. Months ago Monckton threatened a lawsuit, but we’ve not heard anymore since.

We’re seeing audiences turn out for films about climate change. Do you think movies about environmental issues can make a difference?

Yes, I think they can. An Inconvenient Truth shifted public opinion in a huge way. And industry responded to it too, especially the Koch brothers, who really started pouring money into climate change denying after that.

Our film is very activist-oriented. We came up with the title after we’d been working on the film for two years, basically as a promotional device, to see if we could generate interest.

We admittedly took a gamble with the title, the way the film is presented, using my writing and narration, to be a bit more in your face. The style may piss some people off, but we really wanted to reach a wide audience, including the people who were behind the Occupy movement, people who want to see change and are tired of big corporations running things.

We’ll see in the next couple months if the gamble was worth it.

Selena Gomez may have ended her two year relationship with Justin Bieber, but she has no regrets.

The actress and singer, 20, stopped by "Chelsea Lately" with her co-star Vanessa Hudgens and opened up about her life post-Bieber. When Chelsea Handler asked the former Disney star if she was enjoying life without a boyfriend, a beaming Gomez replied, "Yes, I really am!"

Handler then congratulated the newly single star, saying, "Enjoy this, girl. You're 20 years old. You've got a lot of men ahead of you ... have a blast!"

Earlier this week, Gomez made an appearance on "The Late Show With David Letterman" and poked fun at her 19-year-old ex, joking that she made him cry.

"The last time he was on, he and I got into a conversation and he said something, then I said something," Letterman said. "And I made him cry."

"Well then, that makes two of us," Gomez quipped.

The "Spring Breakers" star has been on a roll lately, proving to the all those Beliebers that she is, in fact, over Bieber.

"I'm good. I'm really good. I've been recording, having a lot of fun with my girlfriends, having a good time," she told E! recently. "I'm having a lot of fun expressing everything that I'm feeling."

Hoping the Bluths have gotten their act together since 2006? Will Arnett has assured that isn't the case.

"The family has kind of fallen apart," Arnett (Gob Bluth) told Us Magazine of the characters on "Arrested Development", noting that the financial crisis wasn't easy on them. "Left to their own devices, all of these characters will evolve into the worst versions of themselves."

While the Bluths have fallen apart, the actors who play them have only seen success since the series' ending.

"That show launched a lot of our careers and everyone is doing great, so to come back together while things are going well is really a fortunate situation," Jason Bateman, who plays Michael Bluth on the series, told GQ. "Everybody had to be big boys about not making it financially impossible."

Netflix's new episodes of "Arrested Development" will serve as a springboard for a potential movie, although it has yet to be greenlit.

The 14 episodes will premiere in May. All of them will be available at once.
