Adrienne Maloof's Final Act

Adrienne Maloof is done with Bravo's "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."

In this preview clip from the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" Season 3 reunion, Andy Cohen addresses rumors about Adrienne's future with the series, as well as the season's long-running storyline about her feud with Brandi Glanville over a family secret.

"Adrienne Maloof has decided not to participate today," Cohen said. "This season was hard on Adrienne, as you all know. A secret about her family was revealed by Brandi and from that moment, Adrienne refused to speak directly about it."

Cohen acknowledged how having a central storyline that couldn't be directly discussed was frustrating for viewers and said it also bothered Bravo.

"Not only is she absent tonight, but she won't be on the show next season," Cohen said. "Adrienne Maloof's final act as a 'Housewife' is not showing up tonight."

Watch the full video below for the reactions of the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" cast.

"Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" season finale airs at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo and Part 1 of the reunion will follow at 9 p.m. ET.

Lindsay Lohan Hits Nightclub After Being Sentenced To Rehab

Was Lindsay Lohan looking for one last hurrah before she heads to rehab? It sure looks like it.

Fresh from pleading no contest to charges of lying to the police and reckless driving, the 26-year-old did what anyone who was just sentenced to 90 days in locked rehab would do -- she hit up a Hollywood nightclub.

TMZ reports that Lohan tried to hide herself from cameras as her SUV pulled up to the AV Club, and was spotted covering her face with a blanket. The throng of paparazzi appears to have ruined the actress's plans, as she decided to take off without ever entering the club.

The decision in the end to skip the club might be the best move Lohan has made in a while, but the fact that she was even there shows where her head is at.

Lohan will soon enter 90 days of locked rehab. According to E! News, with the exception of a death of a family member or a medical necessity, Lohan will not be allowed to leave the treatment facility -- however, she's not exactly going to be on lockdown. The judge in Lohan's case permitted Lohan to complete her rehab and community labor in New York if she so chooses; however, the judge didn't specify which treatment centers are acceptable.

"If she reports to certain privately run facilities such as Promises, she wouldn't be totally locked down," criminal defense attorney David Diamond, who does not represent the actress, told E! News. "You can walk from your suite to pool and from the pool to omelette bar and back to your room."

With that in mind, it's clear that where Lohan decides to seek treatment this time around will say a lot about how committed she is to her recovery.

As the national debate on gun control continues to heat up, some artists have responded with support for tougher laws on firearms.

One group of artists-cum-activists recently spoke out against the Second Amendment with posters in support of gun control. But a new photoblog named Thumbs & Ammo takes a more lighthearted approach to the issue by editing famous movie stills so our favorite superheroes, gangsters and cowboys give a hearty thumbs-ups instead of wielding guns.

"Real tough guys don't need guns, they just need a positive, can-do attitude," according to the blog's tagline.

Edie Falco's Latest Role: Circus Protester

If elephants were her patients, the "Nurse Jackie" star would take them out of the circus.

In a new ad for PETA, actress Edie Falco urges parents to keep their children away from the circus to protest the alleged abuse of elephant performers.

The video, posted to YouTube March 18, accuses Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus of slamming baby elephants to the ground, shocking them with prods and beating them with bullhooks to train them. The video also shows footage of elephants apparently being whacked by bullhooks right before a show.

A PETA press release indicated the plea was timed so former "Sopranos" actress Falco, a New Yorker, could urge New York City residents to boycott the Ringling Bros. run at the Barclays Center, in Brooklyn, March 20-April 1.

Jada Pinkett Smith, Demi Moore and Alec Baldwin have previously supplied their famous voices to PETA's elephant campaign.

Ringling Bros. spokesman Stephen Payne criticized the animal rights group's practice of trotting out famous faces.

"It seems to be PETA's same tired playbook of getting a celebrity to spout out old, misleading allegations about our animal care," Payne told The Huffington Post. "I think Ms. Falco has been misled by PETA and I would invite her as a New Yorker to come to the Barclays Center and see for herself." Payne also said that some of the excerpts in the video were not of Ringling Bros.

In a statement to E!, Payne added, "Ringling Bros. is committed to the welfare of all its animals, particularly the endangered Asian elephants."

Feld Entertainment, the parent of Ringling Bros., has taken on its accusers in court. In December, another animal rights group, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), confirmed it had paid Ringling Bros. $9.3 million to settle two court cases revolving around alleged elephant abuse, CNN reported. The ASPCA admitted no wrongdoing, while Feld said the payout represented a victory against "malicious" accusations.

Debate over the use of circus animals extends across the globe. Last week, Australia's Newcastle Broadcasting New South Wales reported that around 50 protesters had gathered at the entrance of a Lennon Brothers Circus, on Australia's Gold Coast, to call for a ban of animal acts.

In October, PETA used the U.S. presidential election to sway public sentiment. A PETA activist in an elephant suit trailed President Obama on his campaign, holding a sign that urged him and the Department of Agriculture to "confiscate beaten circus elephants."

'Once Upon A Time' Spinoff Details Emerge

Looking for another happy ending? The brains behind "Once Upon A Time" have got you covered.

According to THR, "Once" consulting producer Jane Espenson and Zach Estrin of ABC's "Zero Hour" have signed on to work on the ABC fairytale drama's spinoff series, which will be set in Wonderland.

Originally thought to center on the Mad Hatter -- played by Sebastian Stan on "Once" -- rumors had swirled that the role would be recast. Fans were initially outraged, and producers are now saying they have no plans to recast Stan's role.

They are, however, looking for actors to play Alice, The Knave and the mysterious Amahl. No decisions have yet been made, but a short "teaser" will be shot in April with a pilot filming in late July or August.

ABC isn't the only network with "Alice In Wonderland" on its radar. "CSI" creator Anthony Zuiker is currently working on an "Alice In Wonderland"-themed pilot for NBC, which is set to take place several years after Alice's adventures down the rabbit hole, making her the reigning queen of all wonderland. A new character named Clara will play the villain who attempts to take her down.

"Once Upon A Time" airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

'Game Of Thrones' Is Upping The Blood

In celebration of "Game of Thrones" Season 3, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences hosted "An Evening with 'Game of Thrones'" on March 19, with everyone from creator George R. R. Martin to stars like Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) in attendance. (You can watch the full panel, courtesy of Emmys.com, below.)

HuffPost TV will have full interviews with the cast ahead of the Season 3 premiere on Sunday, March 31 (9 p.m. ET on HBO), but to whet your appetite, here's what we learned from Martin on the red carpet ...

On Season 3:
"I've actually only seen the episode that we premiered last night, because I've been very busy this past year. I wanted to make it over to the shoot to see some of it being shot as I've done in previous years, but I wasn't able to do it this year. I had too many other commitments and too many other deadlines. So I wrote my own script, which is Episode 7, 'The Bear and the Maiden Fair,' but even there I haven't seen any footage. I just know what's in the script. Last night was the first time I'd seen any actual footage, which was very exciting. I loved it."

On his episode this season:
"There's a bear and a maiden fair, and a song. That scene, if you know how television production works on a series like this, you're shooting the scenes and they don't always go into the episode they're originally scripted for; some episodes are running long, others are short, sometimes scenes get moved around. So the irony is, the scene with the bear was not written by me -- even though it's in my script -- it was written by David [Benioff] and Dan [Weiss] and was moved into my episode when they reshuffled a few scenes around, which then became the logical title for that. It's a great scene and it's a great bear. Bart the Bear, you can see his audition on YouTube. He's so cute. I wanted to take him home and have a bear myself -- a 1,200 pound bear in the backyard."

On the next book in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, titled "The Winds of Winter":
"I am working on it. It will be a long time coming. I have many many more pages to do, but I have some great stuff planned for it: a lot of blood and fire and death and devastation and ravens coming home to roost."

While the panel discussion steered clear of spoiler territory for the most part, executive producers Benioff and Weiss did admit that Martin has already told them who ultimately ends up on the Iron Throne, much to the surprise of the cast. "“There’ll be a few people sitting on it before the end,” Martin teased cryptically.

Much was made of Martin's penchant for killing off beloved characters, but the author pointed out, "as bloodthirsty as I am in killing characters, David and Dan are killing some characters who are still alive in the books! Their body count is higher than mine. When they say no one is safe in the series, that's literally true. There are characters in book five and who are gonna be in book six who are dead on the TV show."

Weiss was unapologetic for the "culling," as he called it. "We need to make room. It's a huge cast and sometimes you need to clear some people out of the way," he said with a laugh. "When you have a world like the world George has built, you start to realize how quickly that story real estate gets taken up. There have been places where we did just have to clear out space to make room for all these guys that we love so much and are so invested in, to do them justice."

Still, Martin isn't too precious about the adaptation adhering to his source material verbatim. "I trust them, I do," he insisted. "I know it's a useful tool to keep the actors from asking for raises. I've been on the other side of it. In a perfect world, I would like more hours each year; I would like more money so that each episode had the budget of a Peter Jackson film, but I don't think this is very likely and given the realities of production, it's incredible, what they do."

Benioff and Weiss have previously mentioned that Season 3 was the year they were most excited to reach, and they explained why on the panel.

"There are so many devastatingly great set pieces and scenes in George's books, across the series, of course," Weiss said. "But I would say that the predominance of scenes that really just made us say 'holy shit' -- and we knew would make other people say 'holy shit' if they saw them properly done on television -- more came from the third book, which will span over the third and fourth seasons, as it turns out. But Season 3 was the one we focused on as 'this is the place we need to get to.'"

Benioff agreed, saying: "The longer you work in this business, you start to be able to more see the carpentry. You can see the seams, you can see where things are going -- it's harder to surprise you as a reader. There are a few scenes in 'A Storm of Swords' that are so devastating that I didn't see them coming. And when I went back and reread them, the clues are there ... they're beautifully set up, but somehow, George hid them from you and that's what we're trying to emulate with Season 3. God knows if we've succeeded, but that was the book we always prayed we'd get to."

Justin Timberlake's 'Soup And Thai' Sandwich

The creators of the Beyoncé Sandwich are back at it. This time, the sandwich-obsessed crew at HooplaHa bring us the Justin Timberlake sandwich.

We'll confess to finding the majority of JT's new album to be a bit of a snooze-fest for the most part, but we can't stop listening to "Suit & Tie," and we are generally glad he's back. To celebrate, we're all going to make the "Soup and Thai" sandwich. An unholy combination of southern BBQ ribs, bok choy, ramen noodles (to harken back to JT's questionable 90s hairstyle) and Thai peanut sauce. Get your dancing shoes and sandwich-making pants on.

(Mildly NSFW language in the video below, since Timberlake says sh*t about 45 times in this song. Also, looks like the record label already discovered this video and only wants you to watch it on YouTube. Go do it! It's fun and worth it.)

Honestly, that sandwich is probably delicious. But we think we'd still prefer Beyoncé's sandwich for now. Although "Soup and Thai" makes us laugh every time we think about it.

Nicki Minaj Suffers Nip Slip On Set Of New Music Video

Nicki Minaj has never had a problem showing some skin, but the singer recently flashed a little too much on the set of her new music video.

The 30-year-old singer and Lil Wayne released a behind-the-scenes preview of their new video for "High School," which was shot before the rapper was hospitalized last week for seizures.

The video was shot inside a Hollywood mansion and Minaj has a bit a trouble with her swimsuit while filming a scene in a jacuzzi! Of course, it's far from the first time the "American Idol" judge has flashed a nipple. In November, the "Super Bass" singer suffered a nip slip while appearing on a live broadcast of "The Re-Up" on BET, and flashed the entire country during a live performance on "Good Morning America" in 2011.

Congratulations, Kimye. You've outdone yourselves.

The latest rumor out of the gold-encrusted KK household is that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are going to name their baby North. Oh yes, the child's full name will be North West (slow clap).

It seems as if Kimye have officially and unequivocally fallen trap to the ridiculous celebrity baby name mill, the one that spun out Holly Madison's Rainbow as of recent weeks.

In honor of future baby North and its unfortunately named future siblings, we've thought up of a bunch of other random words that can perfectly fit a Hollywood prince/princess:

Ashton Kutcher: 'I Am Going To Do Everything In My Power To Have This Relationship Be Private'

Since Ashton Kutcher became linked to Mila Kunis back in April 2012, the onetime "That '70s Show" co-stars have been photographed everywhere they go. But in the April issue of ELLE, Kutcher says he's really trying to keep their romance low-key.

“I’ve learned that there are a lot of things in your life that really benefit from being private," he tells the magazine. "And relationships are one of them. And I am going to do everything in my power to have this relationship be private.”

Of course, it's hard to keep a low profile when you're on a CBS mega-hit. The "Two and a Half Men" star admits, “You know, I didn’t really go the starving-artist route. I kind of went and did massive, commercial things. [Two and a Half Men] is a very commercial show. But it’s very fun to do. I’m surrounded by an amazing group of people. And I can be home for dinner.”

But Kutcher, 35, also says he was ready to take on a more serious role -- though playing Steve Jobs in the upcoming biopic "jOBS" initially seemed daunting. “It was something I was scared to do," he says. "That indicated to me that it was a good thing.”

Kutcher expressed a similar sentiment at the film's Sundance premiere in January.

"This was honestly one of the most terrifying things I've ever tried to do in my life. I admired this man so much,” Kutcher told the audience, according to the Los Angeles Times. “I've thrown myself into this massive gauntlet of criticism. I've never seen Abraham Lincoln walk into a room, but I've seen Steve Jobs walk into a room."

"Mad Men" co-stars Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser are engaged!

Pete and Beth, who came out publicly with their affair this past June, confirmed to Us Weekly that they are set to marry. "They couldn't be happier," a friend of the twosome told the magazine.

Back in June, news broke that Bledel, 31, and Kartheiser, 33, had been "dating for a few months" after they were seen kissing on a plane to Los Angeles. Bledel starred in Season 5 of "Mad Men" as Pete Campbell's friend Howard's wife, and the two had an affair that was not well received.

"Vincent proposed a few weeks ago," the couple's friend added. "She's been wearing her ring. It's huge!"

In the past, Kartheiser has been linked to actress Rachael Leigh Cook, while Bledel dated her "Gilmore Girls" co-star Milo Ventimiglia for more than three years.

We're happy for you, Rory!

Ryan Gosling Is Taking A Break

$
0
0

NEW YORK — What's Ryan Gosling's secret to his on-screen poise, his ability to disarm and provoke merely by his laconic presence?

"Just try not to blink," he says with a self-deprecating smile.

But Gosling's uncanny, communicative stillness – along with his sensitive vulnerability, his serious dedication to his work and, well, the guy ain't bad looking – has made him one of the biggest movie stars on the planet, a widely beloved, new-generation idol. It might be the only role he's uncomfortable playing.

Rather than exude preternatural cool, in a recent interview Gosling spoke more with the uncertain, self-critical grasping of a still-developing actor trying to find his foothold in an illusory profession. Soon to direct his first film, he's looking forward to taking a step back just when moviegoers can't get enough.

"I've been doing it too much," he says of acting. "I've lost perspective on what I'm doing. I think it's good for me to take a break and reassess why I'm doing it and how I'm doing it. And I think this is probably a good way to learn about that. I need a break from myself as much as I imagine the audience does."

But first, this spring will bring two new films from Gosling, starting with "The Place Beyond the Pines," his second collaboration with director Derek Cianfrance, whose gritty portrait of decaying love in "Blue Valentine" was one of the first showcases of Gosling's talent for immersing himself in a character.

In "The Place Beyond the Pines," which opens in limited release March 29, Gosling plays a tattooed motorbike rider in a traveling circus who, visiting an old fling (played by Gosling's real-life girlfriend, Eva Mendes), finds out he's the father of her toddler – a discovery that prompts an awakening in him, along with a desperate urge to support the child. With a more experienced friend (Ben Mendelsohn), he takes to robbing banks in Schenectady, N.Y. His story composes the first section of a triptych connected by a violent incident that reverberates across generations.

"One thing that kind of handed me the key to the character was that I totally overdid it with the tattoos," says Gosling, who has a teardrop inked beneath his left eye in the film. "I said to Derek, `I got to lose this face tattoo. It's the worst. It's so distracting and it's going to ruin everything.' And he said, `Well, I'm sure that's how people with face tattoos feel. So now you have to pay the consequences of your actions.' So I had to do the whole film with it and now see it on posters. It gave me a sense of shame that I feel was inherent to the character."

In conversation, Gosling is thoughtful, even eloquent about his acting but less intense and lighter – that calm poise again – than his words make him out to be.

Having started performing as an 8-year-old (coming from an Ontario, Canada, home of divorced, working-class Mormons), the 32-year-old Gosling has now been in entertainment for more than two decades. He was famously part of the "Mickey Mouse Club," along with child cast members Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Often performing in secondary roles to them conditioned Gosling, he says, to consider himself an ensemble player and character actor.

"There's a lot of pressure to be the lead of a film," he says. "I have done it. It's not my favorite way to work."

Gosling's break came in 2001's "The Believer," in which he played a neo-Nazi teenager. A new level of fame came with "The Notebook," the 2004 romance co-starring Rachel McAdams that made Gosling a bona fide heartthrob.

"By virtue of being in a movie like that, it just changes people's perception of you," he says. "But it doesn't make it true."

Since then, he's largely eschewed the conventional movie star path many in Hollywood would love for him to pursue. Instead, he's worked in naturalistic indies like "Half Nelson" (Oscar-nominated for his performance as a wayward but decent inner-city teacher) and the offbeat comedy "Lars and the Real Girl" (as a delusional introvert with a life-size doll for a girlfriend).

He was atypically active in 2011, with three varied roles: an idealistic press secretary in George Clooney's "Ides of March"; a suave ladies' man in "Crazy, Stupid, Love" (a rare glimpse of a polished, buoyant Gosling); and a quiet, proficient getaway driver in "Drive."

"Ryan was able to convey everything vocal-less," says "Drive" director Nicolas Winding Refn, who also directs Gosling in "Only God Forgives," due out in May. "He was beyond talking. His movement, his posture, his eyes, his thoughts would tell a story."

Gosling often obsessively plunges into a character. For "Lars and the Real Girl," he lived with the doll. In "Blue Valentine," he stayed in a Scranton, Pa., house with his movie wife, Michelle Williams, for a month. For "Pines," he learned to skillfully ride his motorbike, which he kept and still rides.

He grants that he tries to stay "hyper-focused" to shield him from the "seductive environment" of film sets. But he declines any Method acting mantle: "I don't know what I'm doing," he says. "I haven't quite figured out what the balance is between being able to be lost in it – or try to, anyway – and then step outside of it."

Cianfrance, whose background is in documentaries, shoots in real locations and encourages improvisation, pushing, the director says, toward "that place where acting stops and behavior begins." Mendelsohn, who with Gosling significantly altered their characters' relationship into a less typical, shifty friendship shortly before filming started, recalls the week of freeform shooting as "gossamer."

"Ryan, without terribly much trouble, could be the world's most ginormous box-office juggernaut type of thing," says Mendelsohn, whom Gosling recommended for the movie and who'll co-star in Gosling's soon-to-begin-filming directorial debut, "How to Catch a Monster." "From what I can gather, his interests are a lot more nuanced."

A self-declared "mama's boy" having growing up with his mother (who home-schooled him) and sister, Gosling regularly inverts traditional movie masculinity for more vulnerable, conflicted portraits. He calls his muscly "Pines" character "a melting pot of all these masculine clichés" who, faced with a child, realizes "none of those things make a man."

With his kind of consuming devotion, it's little surprise that Gosling's personal relationships often blur with his fictional ones. Cianfrance calls him a brother. Refn refers to their "bromance." He's had lengthy relationships with several of his co-stars, including McAdams, Sandra Bullock ("Murder By Numbers") and Mendes, who'll also co-star in his "How to Catch a Monster."

"Working with someone is the best way to get to know someone, especially if it's a creative endeavor," says Gosling. "When you work creatively with somebody, it's very telling and you sort of fast-track with everyone."

Having arrived at a rarefied position in movies, Gosling intends to appreciate it, even if his version of a "leading man" is to question masculine stereotypes and avoid leading altogether.

"The more opportunities I'm given, the more I learn about how easy it is to (expletive) it up," he says. "You fight for freedom and then you get it, and then you have enough rope to hang yourself. It's like trying to exercise some restraint because I do have so much freedom."

Sorry, Regis fans -- but the original "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" host will not return to his former position.

Cedric the Entertainer will take over the hosting duties from Meredith Vieira on the syndicated game show Wednesday morning, Deadline reports.

Vieira announced her decision to leave "Millionaire" after serving as its host for 11 years in order to pursue other opportunities.

Cedric the Entertainer, whose real name is Cedric Antonio Kyles, will begin filming "Millionaire" in September for the game show's 12th season in national syndication.

As USA Today notes, "Millionaire" has struggled in ratings recently with an average 3.2 million viewers this season. ABC may be hoping that Cedric's presence will inject new life into the show.

In a statement, President Janice Marinelli said Disney-ABC Domestic Television is thrilled with the choice, adding: "With his deep roots as a successful stand-up comedian and actor, Cedric will bring his fresh approach and unpredictable fun to the show."

Dropkick Murphys Member Dropkicks Nazi (VIDEO)

Boston's Irish-punk band Dropkick Murphys didn't waste any time with a concertgoer last week in New York City, attacking him onstage after he gave a Nazi salute.

In videos posted on YouTube from various attendees bassist/singer Ken Casey and the band were playing New York's Terminal 5 when the incident took place. Approximate one minute and 30 seconds into the YouTube clip above, Casey looks across the stage filled with fans to see a male saluting on the other side of the stage. "Here it comes... watch bass player," a statement reads on the clip.

Casey walks across the stage and grabs the skinhead by the throat, causing the guy to fall to the stage. The bassist then removes his bass guitar and swings it down on the male before roadies and others intervene as the band continues playing a cover of AC/DC's 'T.N.T.'

"Holy shit! Do you see what's going on here," somebody says on the microphone before Casey, gasping a bit for air after the altercation, says what is now obvious. "Alright, Nazis are not f--king welcome at a Dropkick Murphys show!"

The group carried on the show without any further incidents. Ironically, the band's had just finished playing 'Skinhead On The MBTA' which appeared on their 1998 album "Due Or Die."

The band made no mention of what transpired on its official site, nor through its Facebook or Twitter accounts. The group, who released a new studio album "Signed And Sealed In Blood" earlier this year, will start an Australian tour later this month before returning to the U.S. for another leg, including a stop at this year's Coachella.

Heidi Klum is just the latest sexy star to shill burgers in a commercial for Carl's Jr. and Hardees.

The 39-year-old model and mother of four children hawks the new Jim Beam Bourbon Burger, in a swimsuit no less, for the "Graduate" themed commercial, which will begin to air nationally on March 25.

"Basically, I am Mrs. Robinson and I am seducing this cute little boy... with my burger," Klum explained in the behind-the-scenes video "I shove the burger in his mouth in a sexy way."

And if you're wondering if someone as fit as Klum actually eats what she promotes (in this case a 960 calorie burger) -- well, she says she does:

"I do eat a lot of burgers. I do also eat a lot of fries."

We're not sure if we believe her, nor do we really believe that Kate Upton, Paris Hilton and Audrina Patridge regularly scarf down burgers either.

The "Gangs of New York" director has joined an effort to curb redevelopment of the Bowery. That's the former skid row near where Scorsese grew up.

Scorsese wrote to New York City Planning Commission Chairwoman Amanda Burden last week. He praises the neighborhood's grittiness, ambience and vivid atmosphere.

Scorsese is backing a plan that would limit the height of new development on the east side of the Bowery to eight stories. The plan also calls for preservation of several historic buildings.

Planning Department spokeswoman Rachaele Raynoff tells the Daily News ( ) the agency has not made a ruling. She says the department recognizes and appreciates the Bowery's historic value. http://nydn.us/148vMyr
