Mick Jagger Love Letters Reveal 'Brown Sugar' Inspiration

LONDON -- Handwritten letters from Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger to his former lover Marsha Hunt will be auctioned in London next month.

Hunt is an American-born singer who was the inspiration for the Stones' 1971 hit "Brown Sugar" and bore Jagger's first child.

Sotheby's said Saturday that Hunt has tasked the auction house with selling 10 letters written from the set of Jagger's film "Ned Kelly," which was shooting in Australia.

Hunt said the letters chronicling their "delicate love affair" and secret history touch on subjects such as the first moon landing and John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

"When a serious historian finally examines how and why Britain's boy bands affected international culture and politics, this well-preserved collection of Mick Jagger's hand written letters will be a revelation," she said in a statement distributed by the auction house.

Sotheby's books specialist Gabriel Heaton said the letters sent in the summer of 1969 show a "poetic and self-aware" 25-year-old Jagger.

"They provide a rare glimpse of Jagger that is very different from his public persona: passionate but self-contained, lyrical but with a strong sense of irony," Heaton said.

Sotheby's said the collection, which includes song lyrics and a Rolling Stones playlist, is expected to fetch between 70,000 and 100,000 pounds ($111,300 and $159,000) and will go under the hammer on December 12.

Biggest Bond Ever: 'Skyfall' Sets Records

The latest James Bond film is also the biggest. According to Sony, "Skyfall" -- which marks 50 years of James Bond onscreen over the course of 23 films -- grossed $30.8 million on Friday night, the largest debut day in the history of the franchise. "Quantum of Solace," the last Bond film released, earned $27 million on its first Friday night in 2008; that film went on to gross $67.5 million during its opening weekend, a record for the series.

With an additional $2.2 million in IMAX sales from an exclusive run on Thursday night, "Skyfall" is already up to $33 million in North America. Per Deadline.com, the film could earn as much as $90 million over the three-day weekend, which would be a new Bond record. (Sony, the studio releasing "Skyfall" in North America, is more bearish on the totals, with an estimate of around $75-$80 million for the weekend; that result would also count as a record opening.)

Meanwhile, overseas, "Skyfall" continues impress: The film had earned $321 million internationally as of Wednesday, meaning its global tally could be over $500 million by the time Monday morning rolls around. That would put the Sam Mendes film on track to break the global record for Bond films held by "Casino Royale," which earned $594 million in 2006. ("Quantum of Solace" earned $586 million around the world.)

Introducing, Mrs. Timberlake!

Jessica Biel, 30, reemerged in NYC yesterday (Nov. 9) following her romantic African honeymoon with her husband, Justin Timberlake. The longtime loves tied the knot in an intimate wedding in southern Italy on Oct. 19 -- and Biel has never looked happier.

The "Total Recall" star was all smiles as she headed to a business meeting in the Big Apple, flashing her wedding ring. The actress was also seen at the Little Cupcake Bakeshop in the Soho neighborhood of downtown Manhattan, where she gabbed with two friends, presumably recounting her wedding and vacation adventures.

According to Us Weekly, Biel and Timberlake, 31, celebrated their nuptials with a safari in Tanzania at the Singita Grumeti Reserves.

"It's so romantic, it's made for honeymoons," a source said of the couple's stay at the $7,600-a-night Sasakwa Lodge.

Sounds like the Timberlakes had the time of their lives!

PHOTOS: A Look Back At Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez's Couple Style

We should be pretty used to celebrity couples calling it quits -- especially amongst the 20 and under set. But we still felt the pang of lost puppy love at the news of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez's split. Who will tweens look to for couple style inspiration now?

Since going public with their relationship at the 2011 Vanity Fair Oscar party, a lot has happened for the couple fashion-wise. Biebs became legal and acquired a slightly more mature style to go with his ascent into manhood (RIP Bieber bangs). Ms. Gomez also left her teen style behind, opting for sleeker, more glam looks in lieu of her brightly-colored mini dresses.

So why split if their style is progressing so well? According to E! News, their "crazy schedules" are to blame. Sources over at RadarOnline, however, claimed that jealousy was "killing the relationship" just a week before the break up was confirmed. So we'll leave it up to you to decide that one.

There are already murmurings of Justin getting cozy with Victoria's Secret model Barbara Palvin -- perhaps he's been taking dating advice from One Direction's Harry Styles? As for Selena, we imagine that the 20-year-old will be happy to leave her role as the main source of intense tween anguish and jealousy. (Your turn, Cara Delevigne!)

So while the tween world rejoices, we bid adieu to Jelena's style. Check out their best couple fashion moments below and tell us: will you miss seeing them on the red carpet together?

PHOTOS: Kim Kardashian Tries A Plunging Velvet Jumpsuit

The Kardashians are staying in London to shill their new collection for British retailer Dorothy Perkins, but that doesn't mean they didn't take some time to hit up the night scene -- and show off their own attention-getting style.

While dining at trendy restaurant Hakkasan Friday night, the Kardashian sisters showed off their take on sharp, London fashion. Kourtney and Khloe opted for sleek separates, while Kim went for something a little... different. Is that a plunging velvet jumpsuit we spy? With pleats?

We're not sure how to categorize that one. We are sure, however, that velvet isn't exactly Kim's best friend. The last time the 32-year-old wore the fabric, her dress split as she was climbing into her SUV. And if she's still trying to land a lunch date with Kate Middleton, we can't imagine that would help her case.

Check out the photo below and tell us what you think of the look.

Joaquin Phoenix: 'It's Not Like I F--king Hate The Oscars'

Joaquin Phoenix is in the process of reconciling with the Academy Awards, after previously calling the race to win one "bulls--t." Phoenix, who is on the short list for Best Actor thanks to his towering performance in "The Master," told Garry Maddox of The Sydney Morning Herald that he owes a large chunk of his success to the Oscars.

"I wouldn't have the career that I have if it weren't for the Oscars. I haven't been in a lot of movies that have made a lot of money ... and getting nominated for a movie has probably helped my career tremendously," Phoenix said. The star has been singled out by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science twice before: In 2000 for his supporting performance in "Gladiator" and 2005 for his lead performance in "Walk the Line."

Phoenix made waves in October when quotes from an interview he gave to Elvis Mitchell for Interview Magazine went viral.

"I think it's bulls--t," Phoenix said about awards season. "I think it's total, utter bullshit, and I don't want to be a part of it. I don't believe in it. It's a carrot, but it's the worst-tasting carrot I've ever tasted in my whole life. I don't want this carrot. It's totally subjective. Pitting people against each other ... It's the stupidest thing in the whole world."

In his interview with Maddox, Phoenix reiterated the idea that winning awards was in direct opposition with being a performer. He did, however, allow that the Academy Awards aren't that bad.

"It's not like I f--king hate the Oscars," he said. "It doesn't occupy my time to where I can build up hate."

Phoenix has already been singled out for his performance in "The Master," winning the Best Actor award at the Venice Film Festival (he shared the honor with his co-star, Philip Seymour Hoffman). According to a panel of experts on the Oscar website GoldDerby.com, Phoenix is in the runner-up position for Best Actor, behind "Lincoln" star Daniel Day-Lewis. The other actors expected to compete for an Oscar this year are Denzel Washington ("Flight"), Anthony Hopkins ("Hitchcock"), John Hawkes ("The Sessions"), Bradley Cooper ("Silver Linings Playbook"), Jamie Foxx ("Django Unchained"), Bill Murray ("Hyde Park on Hudson"), Hugh Jackman ("Les Miserables") and Jack Black ("Bernie").

It appears Taylor Swift's new breakup songs aren't affecting Jake Gyllenhaal as much as she would like them to.

The actor, 31, was spotted holding hands with a mystery gal in NYC's East Village yesterday (Nov. 9) -- and he looked pretty darn happy. Dressed in a puffer coat, hat and sunglasses, the bearded-up Gyllenhaal was smitten as he gazed down at the brunette beauty on his arm.

The "End of Watch" star has been keeping a low profile as he performs in the hit off-Broadway play, "If There Is I Haven't Found It Yet," which runs through Nov. 25.

Former 'Happy Days' Star Has Become A Recluse

Former "Happy Days" star Erin Moran has had a rough year.

The actress, who shot to stardom as Joanie Cunningham, was kicked out of the trailer park where she lived in September, and has now become a recluse holed up in an Indiana hotel room where she's writing a book about her life, reports RadarOnline.

Sources tell the website that the 52-year-old has been staying in various hotels after being bounced from the trailer park she was forced to move into after reportedly going broke and being evicted from her California home in June. Moran was living in a trailer with her husband, Steve Fleischmann, and his 72-year-old mother -- who she allegedly got into a drunken brawl with in early October.

"Erin thinks the best thing for her at the moment is to just stay in," a source told the website of her new reclusive lifestyle.

"She’s working on an autobiography, which she hopes will help her settle some debts she has. Every time she ventures out, whether it’s to a bar to grab a drink or even to the supermarket for some groceries, Erin seems to land in hot water," the source explained to RadarOnline.

The actress is reportedly still broke despite the fact that she and her "Happy Days" castmates reached a settlement with CBS over licensing and merchandising revenue in July. The lawsuit originally asked for $10 million, but the final decision was reportedly a $65,000 payment for each of the four original stars, plus future royalties.

Most recently, Moran appeared on "Celebrity Fit Club" in 2008, but has had few acting gigs since the 1980s, when she appeared in the "Happy Days" spinoff, "Joanie Loves Chachi," and had small walk-on roles in series like "The Love Boat" and "Murder, She Wrote."

Harry Potter and Don Draper are quite a pair in "A Young Doctor's Notebook," a new black comedy produced by Sky Arts. The first trailer for the British miniseries has arrived online, showcasing stars Daniel Radcliffe and Jon Hamm in a variety of compromising positions. Like the bathtub. "Pass me the loofah," Radcliffe requests of Hamm.

"[I'm] the envy of every woman ever," Radcliffe said in an interview with The Sun about the tub scene.

Based on Mikhail Bulgakov short story collection "A Country Doctor's Notebook," the miniseries focuses on a young doctor in pre-revolutionary Russia (Radcliffe) and his older and wiser self (Hamm), who is living in the years after World War II.

Well, that didn't last long.

Kat Von D has announced that she and DJ Deadmau5 have called it quits after dating for about two months. The tattoo artist took to Twitter today (Nov. 10) to share the news, saying, "Man, Can't say I didn't give it my best."

"Man, I sure was wrong," she added. "But at least he made it a no-brainer to break that off. Lesson Learned."

Von D, 30, and Deadmau5 (real name Joel Zimmerman), 31, met at a party and confirmed their relationship in mid-September. The "L.A. Ink" star was previously engaged to Sandra Bullock's ex Jesse James, but finally called off their on-again off-again relationship last fall.

"Now, we can get all of the 'I told you so's' outta the way ... And move on," Von D continued on Twitter, finally adding, "Clarification: Deadmau5 and I are no longer together."

So what does Deadmau5 think of their break up?

"Going to spend a little while screwing my head back on. i guess im not cut out for relationships right now," he wrote on his Facebook page. "And that's all i really wan't to dwell on it right now. ill figure it out. no hard feelings."

"It happened too fast, i lost my balance and fell into a familiar dark place that im having difficulty with," the DJ added on Twitter, "she deserves someone stronger."

Keira Knightley is still basking in engaged bliss since saying 'Yes!' to beau James Righton in May.

But, is the couple planning on getting married anytime soon?

"We're both working too hard, so I'm just enjoying this bit," Knightley, 27, explained of her wedding plans on "Good Morning America" on Nov. 9.

One thing she couldn't stop gushing about was her $40,000 engagement ring, which she admits she flashes constantly.

"I keep doing this," the "Anna Karenina" star said as she waved her left hand back and forth. "It's the engagement shuffle."

"It's a lovely ring, isn't it?" she added, smiling from ear to ear.

Knightley and the Klaxons rocker, 28, have been dating for nearly two years. The British beauty was in a five-year relationship with fellow actor Rupert Friend, which ended in Dec. 2010.

Paul McCartney and his wife, Nancy Shavell, narrowly avoided disaster when the pilot flying their helicopter became disoriented during a flight earlier this year, reports The Daily Mail.

On May 3, the former Beatle, 70, and his wife, 52, were traveling back home to East Sussex, England, when their chartered Sikorsky S-76C suddenly began plummeting towards trees as the pilot tried to land on the singer's helipad.

According to the U.K. paper, the helicopter was just two feet away from a fatal crash when the pilot was suddenly able to pull the nine-seater aircraft away from the tree tops and later touched down safely at a nearby airport.

The terrible ordeal is now being investigated by the U.K.'s Department of Transport, and has been categorized as a "serious incident" by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch. According to the government report, the flying conditions included "low cloudbase, poor visibility and rain."

When asked about the terrifying incidence, a rep for McCartney told The Daily Mail, "Paul has been spoken to. It has been put to him, everything. It’s a no comment.’

Delfonics Singer Dies At 65

Former Delfonics singer Major Harris died on Friday (Nov. 9) in Richmond. He was 65 years old.

The R&B, soul singer left the Delfonics in 1974 to go solo and record his hit 1975 song "Love Won't Let Me Wait." Before making a name for himself with the Delfonics in the early '70s, Harris was a member of several groups including The Teenagers and Nat Turner's Rebellion.

Harris' sister, Catherine Thomas, told the Associated Press that her brother passed away due to congestive heart and lung failure. The singer was pronounced dead at a Richmond hospital.

"He always appeared to be older, which gave him a lot of ins to a lot of older places," Thomas said of her brother's knack for sneaking into clubs to listen to music while he was still a teenager.

Harris' last performance was in 2011 with several other members of the Delfonics.

Justin Bieber Speaks Out About Breakup

We know you spent all weekend crying over the news that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have broken up -- and likely so did the Biebs.

On Friday, multiple sources confirmed that the couple, who had been dating for nearly two years, called it quits about a week ago. Sources also claim it was the 20-year-old actress who decided it was time to end the relationship, in part because of their "crazy schedules" and because she had major "trust issues" with Bieber.

Bieber was already rumored to have moved on with Victoria Secret model Barbara Palvin, who he took to see "The Lion King" on Broadway, though the model was quick to deny it.

The breakup seems to have Bieber thrown for a loop. In an interview with Open House Party on Nov. 10, he neither confirmed nor denied the split, telling radio host John Garabedian, "I don't know what to say. I don't know what's going on in my life. To even assess that it doesn't make sense 'cause I have not made any comment."

Bieber seemed more than a little annoyed by the question about the breakup, but some of his recent tweets definitely sound like those of a man who was recently dumped.

"Thank you Boston. Focused on the positive. #30MillionBeliebers with me. I'm never leaving you because you are always there for me," the 18-year-old singer tweeted after his concert on Nov. 11.

But all hope may not be lost, as sources have told TMZ that couple known as "Jelena" might not be totally dunzo. Bieber reportedly wants to give it another go, and it could happen since they've broken up several times before.

While Bieber may want Gomez back, we have a feeling there is more to their breakup than meets the eye. Shortly after news of the breakup hit on Friday night, several of Gomez's "Wizards of Waverly Place" cast members chimed in on Twitter to support their girl.

Actor David Deluise, who play's Gomez' on-screen father, is clearly very dad-like off-screen as well. "All woman should be treated with respect! Listen up boy @selenagomez," he wrote and posted a photo of himself and Gomez. Meanwhile, Gomez' on-screen mother played by Maria Canals-Barrera, also tweeted support for the actress: "With my beautiful, talented and STRONG @selenagomez on our last day of filming the #WizardReunionSpecial"

And it's not just her on-screen parents who have her back either. Actress Jennifer Stone, who plays Gomez' quirky BFF, tweeted, "That's why you don't rob the cradle, because babe's be trippin."

All of this leads us to believe they may never, ever get back together.

Jay-Z and Coldplay will be collaborating again for a New Year's Eve show at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.

"We're pleased to announce that, on Monday, Dec. 31, Coldplay will round off a memorable year by performing a very special co-headline show with Jay-Z at Barclays Center, Brooklyn." Coldplay said in a statement on their website. "This will be the second time in two years that Coldplay has celebrated new year with long-term friend and collaborator Jay-Z, the band having shared the bill with him at a Las Vegas concert in 2010. More recently, Jay-Z performed onstage with Coldplay at the spectacular London 2012 Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony."

Jay-Z also promoted the show on his website, Life and Times, by posting the flyer for the concert. After performing eight sold-out shows at Barclays, Jay is becoming a regular.

Coldplay has spent much of the year on an international tour but this Barclays show will be the first concert that the band has sold tickets to in New York City since 2005. In the two days before the New Year's Eve concert with Jay-Z, Coldplay will be headlining a Dec. 29 show in Uncasville, CT and another Barclays show, this time with opener Naturally 7, on Dec. 30.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, are reportedly good friends with Jay-Z and his wife, Beyonce. Paltrow even penned a public birthday card for Beyonce when the singer turned 31.

Tickets for the show go on sale Nov. 17.

'The Walking Dead': Rick's Crazy Zombie-Killing Rampage

While Michonne was making the decision to leave Woodbury, and Andrea was realizing that it may not be as perfect there as the Governor wants her to think, Rick went on a journey of self-discovery on "The Walking Dead." Actually, it was more a journey of -- hopefully temporary -- madness. Still reeling from the death of Lori last week, Rick ran into the prison and spent the hour silently killing zombies and looking for her body.

He eventually found her, in the form of a particularly stuffed zombie, and exacted his final vengeance. Then, spent, he heard a nearby telephone ring. The episode wrapped with him answering it. How could a phone be ringing during a zombie apocalypse? Fans of the comic book know what it meant there!

Back at Woodbury, Michonne failed to convince Andrea that things weren't what they seemed, and was actually allowed to leave. Then, though, during a disturbing gladiator-style entertainment event, Andrea saw the darker side of the "idyllic" town. Will she be allowed to leave as Michonne was? Will they really let Michonne just wander off. And, if so, will she? Or might she try to come back for her friend?

'Nicki Minaj: My Truth' Addresses Mariah Carey 'Idol' Feud

For the second part of the special series looking into her life, "Nicki Minaj: My Truth" delved into the controversy that erupted after footage was leaked of her fighting with fellow "American Idol" judge Mariah Carey. Both Minaj and Carey are new to the panel this season, and this was their first peek at the heightened spotlight the show's judges enjoy in the media.

Minaj is no stranger to media scrutiny -- nor is Carey -- but she was understandably not at all happy that this footage leaked out. Especially upsetting to Minaj was how Barbara Walters responded. She referred to Minaj as "unpredictable" on "The View," and spoke with Carey. But, according to Minaj, Walters never reached out to her.

"Am I not good enough for you to get my side? ... If I was J. Lo, you woulda called J. Lo’s camp," Minaj said, referring to her predecessor on the "Idol" judging panel. "I’m only good enough for you to tell people that I’m unpredictable when you don’t f***ing know me!"

Via Twitter, at the time of the incident, Walters said that she had reached out to Minaj, getting no response back from her camp. But is this series helping people to understand Minaj better in anticipating of the new season of "American Idol." Or, as Gawker wrote, is she just coming off as completely unlikable?

The special three-part "Nicki Minaj: My Truth" concludes next Sunday at 10:30 p.m. ET on E!

'RHOA': Kim Runs Into NeNe Trying To Sneak Out Of Her Party

On "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," Kim Zolciak had made the decision to duck in and out of a party that had grown from honoring NeNe Leakes' burgeoning television career into a full-fledged women's empowerment bash. NeNe proved she'd grown by saying she was over any beef she and Kim had and that Kim was welcome to be invited.

Kim, though, was apparently far more apprehensive about a face-to-face encounter. The former friends hadn't seen each other in months. And as NeNe was late to the event, Kim decided to try and sneak out before she arrived. Unfortunately, she was sneaking out just as Nene was arriving. In fact, the pretty much ran right into one another, leading to the awkward encounter of the night.

Kim tried to make some excuses about Kroy needing to be somewhere, while NeNe tried to encourage her to at least stay five more minutes. Kim reluctantly agreed, but scatted out of there the moment NeNe's back was turned. "I’ve never been so motivated to get the f*** out of somewhere in my entire life," she said.

So while NeNe may have moved beyond their issues, Kim clearly hasn't been able to. "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" continues on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
